Left-wing Utopia

Giovenith sat back on the concrete, observing the finished drawings and gulping down mineral water from a bottle she had brought with her. The activity had left her worn, an experience one couldn't really understand unless they themselves were used to pouring their souls into a piece of work, no matter what area that work tended to lie. It always satisfying to feel the burn in your energy of a job well-done, though.

Still, something inside was gnawing at her besides that. It was right in the pinched up, unreachable corner of her understanding though, that little triangle the windshield wipers couldn't reach. Further contemplation would be needed, but for now, she figured that she must be heading home now, as the drawings looked splendid, and she swiftly packed up.

"It was alright.", Katya answered. "The people were nice. I hated being watched, though."

She then remembered the time. "Oh, when's the pet show start? Have you already entered your pet, Jacob? What about us meeting Dora?"

"The carpet is the pet I entered. I did that shortly before you joined us." Jacob answered, letting Yoshi lean against him. "And Dora's going to meet us soon, here at the glassblowers. I just have on idea where she is." He was looking around as well, curious as to where the former conservator was. He really wanted to know what she wanted to talk to them about.

Albert rolled his eyes, and poked Ray's face with his tail. "You two. We're here to get drunk and socialize, not to argue about which helicopter is the best." He informed them, snickering slightly as he said so. "So are we going to do that, or are we going to continue to argue. Because obviously the helicopters from my nation would be best."

Yoshi was focused on the glass blower. The hot, orange, molten goo like substance reflected in the emerald pool that was his eye. He watched the craftsman as he formed the material into a beautiful work of art. He was fascinated to say the least. He would buy something for Katya and Tora, but he had no money. He had no I.D. either. He was pretty much screwed until he could get it back from Katya.

"Contestants, please make your way to the pet show booth for the pet parade," said a chipper voice over an inexpensive portable PA system.

Naomi quieted down the children and scooted through the crowd with a small cage. She bumped into Bran and Ray on the way. "Hello! Guys, you better hurry. They're doing the thing now."

"Ray. What did I tell you." Albert warned, a bit annoyed that Ray couldn't overlook that so they could have fun. Then again, if someone said his nation's things sucked, he would get pretty pissed as well. But when Naomi came up to say something, his eyebrow raised a bit. "Oh. Looks like the drinking will have to be later."

Jacob's ear twitched upon hearing the noise of the PA system, and he had Max the carpet lower enough for Kruger to get on with them. "Looks like its time to head over there. You should probably go make sure your dog didn't run off, Katya. And it looks like we'll have to speak with Dora later...." Right after he said that, Dora showed up, which made the personification smile slightly wider. "Salve, Dora. I was wondering when you were going to show up!"

Bran was fuming as well, at this point, not a fan of having his nation's vehicles insulted. He frowned. "Again, just jealousy. Your helicopters have never gone against ours at all, yours are just so "Great" because they've been used against primitive enemies. You can't compare either because they'e never fought directly. Ever seen what an Igla can do to a Black hawk? Me neither, they've never gone against each other." He reasoned.

"So please, shut up. Besides, we need to get to the pet show." He scowled.

ApertureScienceInc wrote:Meanwhile in the Von Eldritch house....

A black circular portal opened up in the living room ceiling, dropping a man in an orange jumpsuit to the floor. Landing on his white boots upright, he could only think of how he wasn't in a white room they were aiming for. But the multiverse was full of surprises, he held his ASHPD firmly as he ventured into the room. The style was Gothic Victorian, and seemed old. He reassuringly patted the orange duffle bag on his back as he looked for where to upload or sneak the plans into. He still assumed he was in an alternate Aperture, maybe this one had wizards or ghosts, or steampunk. Dr. Koontz hoped it was steampunk, that would have been cool. He opened an airlocked door with "VE" in ornate letters to one of the testing chambers where various creations tried out their firepower. Remains of Nurse-Bots, Zombies, and Pizza Guys were scattered in front of targets.

A bit unnerved he found his way to Neil's Office. Dr. Koontz tried to look for a password on the surprisingly heavy duty keyboard. The nearby bookshelf held no clues except confirming his suspicions that this was a science oriented facility. However on the first bad login attempt... the house went into lockdown. The Multiverse portal dissipated and closed, with the house surrounded by a deadlock. His radio went dead, cutting off communication with Aperture. He feared the worst as soon as the klaxon alarm blared throughout the house. Nevvie kicked open the door while wielding an energy weapon. The sight of the lizardwoman startled Dr. Koontz.

"On the floor mammal!" She shouted at him.

Koontz thought quick and tried to portal behind her, however the deadlock prevented him from placing portals.

"NOW!" Nevvie ordered.

Koontz was speechless, he went to throw one of the heavy texts at her, to try and slip past the lizard, but the book only came halfway out. With a spin of the bookshelf Koontz found himself in a secret passage. With no time to question the logic of his fortune, he ran down the passage.

The passage turned into more of a catwalk as he moved behind the walls. He looked and saw what reminded him of the Aperture facility, ever moving rooms. However this was wrong, there seemed to be nothing beyond the void, no salt mine, no sky, no outer space. Just the rooms mechanically held together as they moved around like a Rubik's cube with too many dimensions. It was making him a bit sick so he got back inside one of the rooms.

After passing through another airlock, the sound of klaxon's still filled the air. This was a new room, like a caged jungle in a metal dome. Sounds of experimental animals filled the air as Koontz hoped there were no Mantis-men or Sentient clouds in here to tear him apart. He began to think as he wandered through the jungle, what sort of place was this. It was a Science facility for sure, maybe run by lizard people instead of humans, like that Cat Aperture, or Mantis Aperture, even the one where everyone was a being of pure light. He found it easier not to think to hard about it, with an infinite probability that he was wrong. Then again he had an infinite probability of being right. Shaking his head again, he tried not to think too much about the contradictions of his work. He looked to a clearing and saw a waffalo grazing. He was definitely not parallel to Aperture Prime, this was one of those backwater universes practically perpendicularly alternate.

An airlock far off slammed open as Nevvie entered the jungle, hunting down the intruder. Running through the foliage, she tried to pick up his scent. It wasn't long before she found the trail. Sniffing the air she was right on a fresh trail...that led back to the airlock she just came in from.

Dr. Koontz ran as fast as his long fall boots would allow, which wasn't much. Down the long hallway he thought he could see the front door. Suddenly his path was blocked by a giant of a "man" in a tuxedo. Koontz stopped in his tracks and went to run back when he saw Nevvie closing in from behind. He took the side door quickly and found himself in an entertainment room.

The television had been left on. There was something familiar about it. Dr. Koontz stepped closer, and saw...it was his co-worker Dr. Susan Tiemann, and she was doing... that low budget kids science show that was only played at the daycare center back at Aperture. It was odd seeing that here. Occasionally the screen snowed up and showed security feeds briefly of one of his other co-workers finding one of the mantis-men in an elevator.

His attention was shifted back to escaping as The two pursuers were trying to bash down the door. Dr.Koontz quickly went to the next room over as they realized he hadn't locked the door on them. He went back into the hall, but found himself on the opposite side.

*insert Scooby Doo door chase here*

Dr. Koontz ran out the front door ad he left his attacker stuck in a closet. and was on his way to freedom. Fresh air! Sunshine! People! All that came to an end when he was about to reach the sidewalk...the deadlock shield was still up, and he smacked into it face first and fell to the ground flat on his back.

Hans completely misunderstood the question. Rather than think she was asking for his input on what they should go see, he thought -

"Eh, well. Weeee... can't reproduce." His head and shoulders slumped a tad. He slipped his hands into his pockets in an attempt to seem at ease as they walked.

"We're not 'Nesh material. We're Khornate. War. Undead in a way, just hosts. Ja. Hosts. With personality. There's a symbiosis between it and us. We've been at it so long that it's hard to distinguish what is us and what it them. You give up much when you become a host. Fertility, to start. Except Minerva's people. They breed like rabbits. I'm not making sense, am I? What about you? You want kids some day?"

"...Alright. If you'd stop being so arrogantly rude for a few moments, then let's get moving to that pet show. Maybe then you wouldn't be so ridiculously angry and frustrated at everything." Ray backed away and onto the other side of Albert, clutching Albert's arm with a certain level of force that displayed incredible frustration and anger. He honestly didn't want to deal with Bran anymore, and hated that he might have to work with him. What did this guy know about military equipment, really? He was just some Air Force mechanic hired by the city for...Whatever reason! Some reason that didn't matter anymore.

Yoshi bowed his head to Dora and smiled. "Konichiwa Dora." he said softly. He was looking forward to what she had to say. He didn't want to tell her than she was "aunt Dora" not yet. He'd let Katya do that.

"Aye....oh, hello, Dora. I was just about to go. Thank god you showed up.", Katya said. Her puo barked from behind her, which brought a smile to her face.

Meanwhile, Torii was near the pat show both, with but a single rat. "Hmm", She said to herself. "....Let's see, Aristotle....PLATO, SOCRATES!"

Just then, her other two rats popped out of a dark corner and ran up to her. With a smile on her face, she picked up her other two rats and walked over to the booth.

"Yeah, and if they do hit, it's game over." Bran snarled. Ray was just being a typical westerner, always so pompous and "Superior" He rolled his eyes at the notion. "So, why'd the city even hire you, eh? You fly news choppers, or what?"

he sounded indignant, Bran really didn't know why he was apparently qualified.

Shortly, the three chicks rode the pony back and hopped off as the pony kept running (noticeably lacerated in the hind). Jenny held the dead Erwin in her arms as they hopped over to their parents.

"Is it time? Is it time?" Swift asked eagerly, his clown facepaint was now a bit smudged, but still held that wide grin.

"Oh, that's no trouble. We can't reproduce either. No kids for me, unless somehow I died and became one of Minerva's people. That would be a bit strange even for me, though," Chrys answered, referencing the information she (and Luce) had gotten from Minerva in an earlier conversation. "So really, making sacrifices is something we have in common, it looks like."

Right after he said that, Dora showed up, which made the personification smile slightly wider. "Salve, Dora. I was wondering when you were going to show up!"

"Hi, Yoshi." Dora nodded back. "Impatient, Katya? Everything happens eventually," she drawled, sliding an arm around the other woman's waist. "Sorry I'm late. Had to take a smoke break, Jacob."

The PA got Giovenith's attention, and she was instantly curious at the prospect of seeing lots of cute little animals and happy faces. Whatever was being knotted in her stomach, this occasion was sure to brighten her day! The teenager smiled and picked up speed toward the occasion.

he sounded indignant, Bran really didn't know why he was apparently qualified.

Ray was suddenly even more annoyed that Bran actually wanted to continue the discussion, even if no one else felt it was getting them anywhere. If anything, it might even be turning into a scene of sorts. "Oh, smart guy, doesn't want to continue the conversation and then strikes it back up. For your information, I was trained by the 161'st Special Operations Helicopter Airwing of the Democratic Union Army. Got it as part of my SPRA training, for your information. Never flown a news chopper, but I own a UH-60, M model." His response was a half-truth. It was never as part of his SPRA training, it was really just one of his SPRA friends who was a part-time duty pilot with the 161'st SOHA. "And where'd you get your training? I heard from your wife that you were a mechanic. How does a mechanic learn how to fly? Oh wait! You're not flying, are you?" He continued walking as he spoke.

Yoshi was still braiding Katya's hair, he didn't react to Dor'a advances on Katya like he did before they had talked alone the first time. He had accepted it and he now liked Dora. He was still leaning back against Jacob.
A lie doesn't become truth, wrong doesn't become right, and evil doesn't become good just because it's accepted by a majority.
