I hereby vote FOR all acts at vote with the exception of the Declaration of Aurentine Neutrality Act, which I vote AGAINST due to its undemocratic restriction of future legislatures, and the Membership of the Commonwealth of Nations Act, which I vote AGAINST too as it apparently seeks to undemocratically implement a monarchy upon the nation despite a popular vote for republicanism.

I also ask that this is added to the queue, as it should've been ages ago. So long in fact, I had to adjust it to the new standard formatting:

Ratification of the European Free Trade Agreement
Urgency: High | Author: Minister Robert Glasgia [MSP] | Category: International Development | Co-sponsors: Minister Alfred Winchester [Ind.], Senator Alexei Stepashin [CP], Minister Ivan Sallustro [CDP], Minister James Fulflood [LDP] , Vice President Alexander Ainin [TR], Senator Jean-Henri Rosseau [CDP], Senator Cornelius Aeken [LDP]

Section 1: Ratification
The senate hereby ratifies the “EFTA Convention” and the “Agreement of the European Economic Area”. The Minister of Foreign Affairs is therefore allowed to sign both texts as a representative of the Aurentine Commonwealth.

Section 2: Appointment of Representatives
As to ensure national interests are represented in the aforementioned organisations, a senior ambassador along with a appropriate team of representatives will be appointed to both the EFTA Convention’s Council and the EEA Council by the President or Minister of Foreign Affairs under advice and consent of the senate, with the latter being permitted to hold office as the President of the EEA Council. The President or Minister of Foreign Affairs may withdraw these representatives at any given moment. All the representatives will have rank equivalent to diplomat with exception of ambassadors. Salaries and expenses of these representatives will be paid by the state.

Robert stood and looked before him. Many had already voted and were a lost cause, yet he would make his stand. He would not back down and allow the nation to succumb to anti-egalitarian hereditary dictatorship. Taking a deep breath, he launched into his speech. "If the 'Membership of the Commonwealth of Nations' passes, I now state my intent to request a veto from the President against such an awful act and I will expect his co-operation, even if he did sponsor the poor excuse for democratic legislation. Why? You may ask that question and I will answer it.

Months ago, the people of this nation threw off the chains of monarchy. Not only a simple majority but two-thirds of Aurentina decided that they wanted a republic. We are now a fully independent republic, independent from the British crown and independent as a republic.

Yet many want to change this fact. They have lost the game of politics that is democracy and so they turn to undemocratic means. I point to the Republican Executive Act and to the Aurentine Constitutional Convention, yet against the will of the people they want to create a throne for our nation and place Queen Elizabeth upon it. A simple vote of this senate should never be allowed to overthrow our entire political system and every concept it stands for.

This is not about Republicanism versus Monarchy. It is not about my opinion versus another's. It is about the will of the people, the will that has been expressed multiple times to be a will that favours the President over the British Queen and if you do not respect that will, then you may be labelled a dictator of your constituency. We are a republic and always shall be a republic unles the people will it not.

Thank you."

Second Amendment to the International Law Act - AYE
Membership of the Commonwealth of Nations - AYE
Ratification of the Non-Proliferation Treaty - AYE
Declaration of Aurentine Neutrality Act - AYE
INTERPOL Act - AYE
Aurentine Foreign Legion Creation Act - Abstain
Condemnation of United States National Security Agency Project: US-984XN - Abstain

To explain myself:
On Membership of the Commonwealth of Nations, I am the son of Englishmen myself, thus I feel much kindred with the British peoples. However, if Aurentina wishes to oppose membership in the Commonwealth, I shall cede to the wishes of my native land.
On the Aurentine Foreign Legion Creation Act, I am quite confused about the purpose of the bill and cannot form a proper opinion on it. I shall therefore cede to whatever my honourable colleagues wish to make of it.
On the Condemnation of United States National Security Agency Project: US-984XN, while I agree with the principle of the bill as proposed by the honourable Senator, I cannot bring myself to agree to laurels this bill proposes to place on Mr Snowden. However, I cannot in good conscience outright oppose the bill either, as the PRISM program has represented a grave violation of American constitutional law and the right of its people to privacy.

Please keep the debate to one thread. There's no point us having a seperate debate in the lobby, the ministry, the chamber and the coalition all at once. Especially considering the chamber is currently in the voting phase.

This is acceptable. However, I would advise you to note you are aware of the rules for posting in the chamber in your OOC section for future speeches during voting (Preferably, this really should have been made during debate, but I digress). Thank you.

Uncario, you should not have made a response to the speech when it specifically stated in the OOC not to. Even if it hadn't, off-of-topic comments are not permitted in the chamber anyways. Please keep this to a minimum in the future. Thank you.

IC:

Thank you."

Boris arose looking livid.

"Senators, do not be cowered by this questionable and highly inaccurate assault on your intelligence. There is not a single grain of truth in the words just spoken. Let us pause for a while and think of all the countries who are in the commonwealth but do not have the Queen as their head of state. India and Pakistan for example. Sri Lanka and South Africa too. I ask you do any of them have Queen Elizabeth as head of state? I credit you all with enough intelligence not to have to answer that.

Here are the facts plain an simple, there are 54 countries currently in the commonwealth how many do you suppose are subjects of the crown? 50? 40? 30? 20? No none of the above. It is 16 states who hold the Queen as head of state and this deplorable attempt to scaremonger you into thinking that to be in the commonwealth one must have the Queen as head of state is utterly deplorable.

That said I move under PPUBA to question the senators integrity and honesty using Article 1 clause 6. I ask that he remove his lies from the chamber and apologize for his attempt to mislead this esteemed body to further his own ends. Senators I urge you to see through this man and join me in condemning his lies through my motion."

Taking a sip of water he sat down.
