(ooc: Not gonna lie im pretty surprised too, I can understand being busy though, and I probably should not have started this at the same time as the World Cup. Maybe your guys are just fast and quick or something.

Also, once you sign up for a conference you're in it for life, unless you choose to leave. Just make sure you check the ICAA Discussion thread every once in a while after season's end.

and your LU went 3-1. I don't know how. but they did)

The Mulcahey City University Cab Drivers ('Cabbies') are very proud to have outscored all other teams. Head coach Hank Kingsley pointed out that his patented 'smash-mouth/run to daylight' offense succeeded beyond his wildest dreams, and participating in the Beagle Bowl @ Strom Thurmond stadium was indeed an honor for the first time participants from F1-Insanity.

It's a shame that the attention of sports fans was partially distracted by the ongoing World Cup football (soccer) qualifiers, but hey at least there was football to see for fans of more than just one football code.

The Cabbies pledge to keep participating in these competitions, and hopefully win some bowls in the future!

MAYORS WIN SAC TITLE!

Late interception by Miller seals victory for the Roost

[float=right]Image[/float]

Story by Jimmy LePage

Last night in Vieux Fort the University of South Carolina at the Roost fought their way to a 48-34 victory over the Presbyterian College Blue Hose. The victory earned the Mayors the Inaugural Southern Athletic Conference title and a berth in the Beagle Bowl.

The Mayors played their best football all year, jumping out to an early 10-0 lead. The Blue Hose were no pushover, however, as PC moved the ball well and held a 14-10 lead at the end of the first quarter. The second quarter provided much excitement, as Marvin Walton rushed for his fifteenth touchdown this season and Cory Lawson threw for two more touchdowns to give the Mayors a 31-14 advantage. But before the end of the half he Blue Hose tacked on two field goals to close the gap at 31-20.

Early in the third quarter the Mayors forced a S. J. Worrell fumble and recovered deep in Blue Hose territory; a Jeff Miller field goal put the Mayors up 34-20. But the Blue Hose weren't giving up, as Tim Webb threw for two touchdowns to Cheytuane Reeder and Brandon Clark, respectively, tying the score 34 all. The Mayors and the Blue Hose traded punts until 4:15 remaining in the 4thv quarter, when Cory Lawson launched a deep ball and found 6'7'' David Amos for a 78 yard touchdown, sending the Mayor half of Vieux Fort National Stadium into a frenzy. On the ensuing drive free safety Patrick Thompson began to cramp up and have back spasms, and received a cheer from both sides as trainers helped him off the field. The Blue Hose pulled out all the stops on their next drive, doing everything they could to move down the field and score. But on a critical third and five Tim Webb's pass was barely tipped and sent towards do-it-all kicker Jeffrey Miller, who intercpted the ball and ran it back for a touchdown. Vieux Fort National went nuts, and with just 1:02 to play the SAC Championship seemed out of reach for the Blue Hose. On their next drive PC drove the length of the field in 15 seconds. But on 4th and twelve Tim Webb bootlegged to the left on a play action pass, and with nothing but open field in front of him he sprinted towards the first down marker. Linebacker David Willis tackled Webb, as the quarterback extended his arm towards the first down marker. The clock was stopped and the chains were brought out for official measurement.

Presbyterian was one inch short.

The Mayors went into a frenzy, and ran out the clock to seal the victory.

"How about this team?!" exclaimed Alex Whitt, doused in Gatorade. "How awesome it is that we can win the conference after such a rough start! I'm so proud of our players, they plpayed like demons tonight. Cory and Marvin had a great game, and Jeff stepped up big tonight with that interception. The offensive line was flawless, our d-line did a great job getting into the backfield, linebackers and secondary played the best they've played all year; all around our gameplan was executed to perfection. Very proud of these guys, our coaches too, and now we'll get ready for the Beagle Bowl."

The Mayors began 1-3, but fought back to win the Conference; in a few weeks they'll have the opportunity to obtain their 8th win of the year as they face off against Mulcahey City University.

PITON BOWL FEATURES UNUSUAL TEAM

Creek Bay U, Toileton prepare for showdown in Vieux Fort

Story by Jimmy LePage

With the Piton Bowl Just hours away, many fans are coming to the realization of just how odd the participants are.

Okay, one of the participants.

Creek Bay University is pretty normal for a college football team.

Toileton, on the other hand is not the average gridiron team.

Much of this is subject for clarification, but from the Daily Whittorian's sources Toileton University officals sent their collegiate association team to the Southern Athletic Conference under the assumption that the SAC was a soccer conference; a fair assumption, as the SAC was originally intended to sponser multiple sports (this idea was discarded due to budget concerns). However, upon arrival they were confused as to why they were given shoulder pads and girdles and a leather prolate spheroid, and thrust quickly into the game of gridiron football.

Oddly enough the team has done better than most of the traditional powerhouse teams, beating out teams like Tuttle College, Florida Tech, and Inneville Federal University among others en route to a top 5 ICAA ranking, and tonight Toileton competes in its first ever bowl game.

Don't be fooled, folks this game will be exciting. But the Daily Whittorian picks Creek Bay to come out on top 24-14.

HARRIER BOWL PREVIEW

PC, Blacksburg prepare for postseason matchup

Tonight the Presbyterian Blue Hose and the Blacksburg Silver Foxes do battle in the historic Harrier Bowl. Not far from Blacksburg's own Bob Roop Stadium, the Blacksburg Harrier Bowl (just the Harrier Bowl colloquially) is considered by most an exact copy of what was thet Miami Orange Bowl; from the cramped walkways to the stadium seating to the grungy smell in the locker room, this historic stadium still has a certain aura about it, a magnificence and prestige that can only be associated with some of the best College Football has to offer.

Tonight the Blue Hose and Silver Foxes begin an excellent tradition: The 1st annual Harrier Bowl. The Daily Whittorian picks Blacksburg to win, 31-14

1st ANNUAL BEAGLE BOWL SET TO GO

Cabbies, Mayors prepare for showdown in Lugoff

[float=right]
Image
Strom Thurmond Stadium, set next to the Wateree River
[/float]

Story by Jimmy LePage

The end of the college football year is nigh, and with two bowls down and one to go fans are eagerly anticipating the matchup between two of the International Collegiate Athletic Association's best teams: The University of South Carolina at The Roost (SAC) and Mulcahey City University (ICAA Independent/future BMWC). MCU has been a dominant force this year with their vaunted ground attack, which has scored over 240+ points this season. The independent Cabbies, managing a record of 8-2, are shaping up to be a powerhouse in the early history of the ICAA.

But don't be too quick to count out the Mayors; the Roost may have started out slow, but just like the usual Gaffney Indian football team the Mayors have gotten a lot better as the season has progressed, winning their final six games to lock up the Southern Athletic Conference Championship and a berth in the Beagle Bowl. They wouldn't be here unless they were good themselves, having scored close to two hundred points on the year and building a reputation of tough defense and flawless special teams.

So who wins? The Mayors defense might not be enough to keep the MCU backs out of the endzone. We hate to go against our own teams but the Daily Whittorian picks Mulcahey City to win, 38-24.

BEAGLE BOWL TIME

The Mulcahey City University Cab Drivers, our favorite college football team will face off with the University of South Carolina at The Roost (SAC conference) and Mulcahey City University (ICAA Independent/future BMWC conference). With our patented offensive strategy, we hope to prevail and bring silverware to our university. Strom Thurmond stadium will be the venue for this game. For those of you who couldn't get a ticket, tune in to F1-Insanity Sports Network's second channel. The game will be featured live. The pre-game show starts three hours before kickoff and will feature highlights from the regular college season.

The Cabbies and the Mayors will prove to be an interesting matchup. And be careful not to underestimate the Mayors. They have greatly improved since their false start and will provide quite a handful for the Cabbies defense. If the Cabbies offense can deliver then surely victory must be around the corner. The vaunted MCU offense was the highest scoring in regular season games and must be relied on to deliver at least a few scores for the MCU Cabbies.

Confidence is high in MCU camp, and even the Daily Whittorian (one of their most prominent periodicals) is picking MCU to prevail (38-24). Our prediction is somewhat similar, 31-20 to our beloved Cabbies.

Head coach Hank Kingsley informed us that he has one more surprise left, one play that hasn't been run yet for everyone to see. If the score allows for it, it will be run in the game against the Mayors. Coach Kingsley is brimming with confidence and is quite sure our team will prevail and justify its #1 seeding. We can also report a clean bill of health for our Cabbies, so all the lights are green for a great game.

GAME ON!

The Republic of Churchma is pleased to announce that the Colden University Bearcats have also joined the ICAA. The Bearcats will be competing in the Little Eight Conference.

CU is coached by Tim Hawkins, who in the past has been known as a very aggressive coach. His teams are known for passing the ball all over the field and scoring at will. Because he is more of an offensive-minded coach, he hired a phenomenal defensive coordinator for the inaugural season in the ICAA (Erik Danzy) that has been around the gridiron for more than thirty seasons as a coach. Danzy likes to run a 4-3 defense and is known for producing bone-crushing linebackers. The L8 Conference can expect a very fast and aggressive style of play from it's newest member.

The Bearcats roster will be announced soon.
CHAMPIONS- Baptism of Iron 6, Cup of Harmony 45, Two ITA Titles
RUNNER UPS- World Lacrosse Championships 10, Saugeais Baseball Tournament
THIRD PLACE- NSCF 1
SEMIFINALS- World Softball Classic 1, World Baseball Classic 19
QUARTERFINALS- NS Arena Bowl 0, NSAB 1, NSCF 2
FOUNDER- Nation States College Football (NSCF)
