Final (at Kungsdocks Arena, Franz Josef City, Polar Islandstates [capacity – 5,900]) [Many thanks to Free South Califas for scorinating]
Hilshore (TYL) 29–29 Jaadlands HC (PIS) (33–31 AET)

Given Polarian teams record in the competition so far and a final on home soil if not quite home laminated floor Jaadlands HC were instantly installed as favourites despite Hilshore's top place in the rankings. However a game between the top two ranked sides was always going to be close and it proved to be with extra-time being needed for the first time in a World Club Handball Championship final. The extra ten minutes paid dividends for the Tynealan visitors who can now add a second WCHC trophy to their sizeable cabinet, along with an automatic entry to the ninth Handball World Club Championship.

Entries are now open for WCHC9. All nations publishing a scorinated set of season results are invited to enter up to four teams. Clubs should be entered based on performance within the association's main competition. The provisional deadline for entries is set for Friday 23rd August. Associations (excepting Polar Islandstates) which participated in WCHC8 may submit a single venue to be considered for hosting the final of WCHC8.

Rankings should hopefully be compiled and posted here within a day or two.

Liga Handbol de Sangti
Season 3 Review

Previous Champions
Season 2 HBC Ryne
Season 1 HBC Ryne

End of a dominance
With HBC Ryne winning the last two editions of the LHS, there was no doubt that they would still be the favorites to retain the title. However, after 10 matchweeks that they led the table, they lost two consecutive games to Nuevavilla and Leonde, and fell as low as fourth. They managed to inch close to the top 2, but was officially dethroned in matchday 20, following another draw against Real Cintore HB.

New challengers
With Ryne failing to defend their title, it was left to Racing Xinghua Baoyam and Leonde Sport on who will win the title. Coming into mathcday 22, they were three points adrift each other, but with Leonde holding advantage in goal differential, they needed a win and a Baoyam loss to win the title. Baoyam was at home to Diabuen, while Leonde was away at Radi. Leonde won 31-21, but Baoyam also won 32-21, so they won the LHS for the very first time.

National Equestrian Handball League
Season 4

What an exciting year of growth for the NEHBL! Finally, after three seasons, average attendance is above 1,000 per match. Oh, and the league is also now in the top ten in the world, but nobody seems to care much about that. The main thing which now draws fans to the NEHBL has very little to do with the teams playing in it, but instead is a focus on individual players. Thanks to the national handball team not being terrible in the World Cup or Olympic tournaments, many fans now trickle into the multi-purpose venues hoping to catch a glimpse of one of the national team's players.

In regards to the results, the NEHBL saw some intense handball-y action. Both Cloudsdale and Everfree ran away with the league for the second straight season, and started 6-0-0 before their MD7 clash saw the Wingers extend their winning streak to 7 matches. That streak would see its demise just a few days later as Canterlot edged them out on the road. In the end, the Wingers would lose just that one time, finishing an impressive 14-3-1 to capture a second consecutive title. Maybe their world top 25 status isn't a mistake, after all.

The deadline for entries to the Ninth World Club Handball Championship is hereby set for 16:00 BST on Sunday 25th 2013.

Associations may submit up to four teams for the tournament, ideally with published standings from their most recent domestic season (exceptions may be granted in exceptional circumstances if an association has published standings within the last two WCHC cycles). Associations who participated in the previous tournament may submit a single venue to be considered for hosting the final of the upcoming tournament.

Bundesliga Handball 2017-2018 Season Results

During 3 years of absence from the international competition, Quebec Handball League were renamed as Bundesliga Handball 2017-2018, to avoid any confusion with Quebec Hockey League(both have QHL as shortened form). Meanwhile, Quebec Capitals and RQIS Royals were merged by their owners and changed hands, before renaming itself CSKA Quebec.

(As stated above, puppet of Sicoutimont)

Maritimes Handball Premier Division: Season 1

Handball isn't exactly the most famous or popular sport in all of the nation. Played mostly on Cape Breton or the south of New Brunswick, you're likely to see teams from there do well. But the MHPD president Oliver MacArthurs hopes that the league's creation can grow the game: "Sure, there'll be teams in Cape Breton and Saint John, but we'll also go to non-traditional Handball markets. And we'll look at smaller markets rather than larger ones, to create more of a community feeling behind the team. Sure, Halifax'll have a team, but maybe so will the Musquodobit Valley." So, without further interruptions, the 1st season of the Maritimes Handball Premier Division!

Maritimes Handball Premier Division Pld W L GF GA GD Pts
1 Musquodobit Valley Panthers 32 21 11 887 875 +12 63
2 Annapolis Royal HC 32 20 11 911 880 +31 61
3 Saint John Steamers 32 20 12 899 863 +36 60 Guaranteed Qualification to WCHC

4 St. Andrews Whalers 32 16 16 877 878 −1 48
5 Summerside Rangers 32 15 16 889 877 +12 46
6 Halifax Schooners HC 32 15 17 890 898 −8 45
7 Inverness Rovers HC 32 13 19 885 871 +14 39 Playoff Rounds for Qualification

8 Richibucto Acadians 32 12 20 860 890 −30 36
9 Sydney Screaming Eagles 32 11 21 865 931 −66 33

So, Musquodobit Valley are the first Champions! Now, we go to the Playoff Rounds. Inverness play Halifax, the winner plays Summerside, and the winner then plays St. Andrews to see who will become the 4th qualifier for the WCHC!

Playoff Game No. 1: 7 v 6
Halifax Schooners 28-29 Inverness Rovers HC
Therefore, Inverness advance to the 2nd playoff game.

Playoff Game No. 2: 7 v 5
Summerside Panthers 24-27 Inverness Rovers HC
Therefore, Inverness advance to the Qualification Playoff Final.

Qualification Playoff Final
St. Andrews Whalers 32-33 Inverness Rovers HC
Therefore, by virtue of winning all 3 playoff matches, Inverness qualify as the 4th qualifier to the WCHC!

Full Qualifiers List:

1-Musquodobit Valley Panthers (League Champion)
2-Annapolis Royal HC (League 2nd Place)
3-Saint John Steamers (League 3rd Place)
4-Inverness Rovers HC (League 7th Place, WCHC Qualification Playoff Champion)

Over the past few years Handball has evolved from an underground sport played primarily by University students into one of the largest sports in Imperial Sentara. With the recent growth, the ISHC (Imperial Sentara Handball Committee) has seen fit to create a Handball league in order to better accommodate the growing demands of the sport. Whilst the first season has been a small endeavor based primarily around the German minorities in Duit, it is predicted that in future seasons dramatic growth is predicted.

Results: North Duit HBC and Port Pantaeos Crowns qualify for WHBC

And what a magnificent season it was. 8 teams were selected from local competitions to compete on the national stage, with North Coast Sting and Tara Region Eagles being added later to appease the more rural populations. The result was one of the hardest fought competitions in Sentaran history. With the shock upset which saw the Eagles defeat as yet undefeated Kisawan by one point, the Cinderella story of Xhakeel fighting for dear life at the start of the season before just missing out on qualifying for the WHBC, the shock upset in which the Crowns defeated preseason favourites Duit to qualify for Worlds. Handball has ingrained itself on the Sentaran people for a lifetime yet.

But not every story is a good one, with such poor results from rural teams; officials are questioning whether Tara or the North Coast have what it takes to support professional teams in the sport. Sting Coach Kozho xho Tey had this to say "The North Coast damn well has what it takes to play this sport. And we can prove it too, right now our boys are looking for international trades to strengthen our roster in the coming months. Next year's team isn't going to be the same side as this year that's for sure."

But it is Kisawan which has captured the hearts of Sentara, the largest inland city in the country is more famous for its contribution to the Australian Football world than that of handball but it appears that the city is growing as one of the largest sporting centres in the nation. Only time will see if they can hold up.

Procedural notes
  • A total of 48 teams were entered from 12 associations
  • 3 associations (Commune-PDTv2, Greater Maritime Union and Imperial Sentara) are participating in the tournament for the first time.
  • No teams from Tyneala were entered after the National Tynealan Handball League failed to communicate it's qualifiers to the WCHC organising committee within the allocated deadline. NTHL officials insist this was due to a postal workers strike in Ancharmunn. Everyone else is wondering why someone couldn't simply have walked across the office shared by the two organisations.
  • The top 2 teams (24 teams in all) entered by each nation were given byes to the group stage, the remaining 24 teams were entered into the two preliminary rounds of the tournament.
  • The 12 fourth seeds, plus the 4 third seeds from the debuting associations and the lowest ranked association (Ukrainya) were entered into the extra-preliminary round.
  • The 8 remaining third seeds enter the tournament at the preliminary round, each to be drawn again an extra-preliminary round winner.
  • All knockout rounds (excepting the final) shall follow the format of a two legged tie, should the tie remain drawn after two legs, the team with the highest number of away goals shall progress. Should away goals be the same for both teams a single legged replay shall be held at a neutral venue.
  • The group stage shall consist of 32 teams drawn into 8 groups of 4. Teams from the same association may not be drawn in the same group
  • The top 2 placed teams from each group upon the completion of the group stage shall progress to the round of 16
  • The round of 16 shall be randomly drawn, though it shall be seeded that first placed clubs shall play second placed clubs.
  • Teams from the same association cannot meet until the quarter-finals
  • The final shall be a one legged tie played at the Grand Handball Arena in Ballyfeeaknock, Ancharmunn, Tyneala (capacity 10,000). Should the final remain tied at the end of regulation time, extra-time shall be used to determine the winner.

Final (at Grand Handball Arena, Ballyfeeaknock, Ancharmunn, Tyneala)
Ile Perrot Epee (SIC) 27–24 Jaadlands HC (PIS)

Both teams are no strangers to the final stage, for Jaadlands HC this marked a third straight final, whilst for Ile Perrot Epee it was a second final in three competitions. Unfortunately for the Polarian side they are no strangers either to heartbreak at this stage as for a third consecutive occasion they travel home with runners-up medals in their pockets. Ile Perrot Epee meanwhile become the second side to twice be crowned as World Club Handball Championship champions. As such they shall be guaranteed an entry into the next tournament.

Entries are now open for WCHC10. All nations publishing a scorinated set of season results are invited to enter up to four teams. Clubs should be entered based on performance within the association's main competition. The provisional deadline for entries is set for Sunday 20th October. Associations which participated in WCHC9 may submit a single venue to be considered for hosting the final of WCHC10.

There may be some gap until rankings are produced as I've a busy schedule over the next week or so. However I shall try to have them done soonish should I find the time.
I'm not on the Greenwich Meridian so my time is a few seconds behind. Bear that in mind.

The deadline for entries to WCHC10 is set at 15:00 (UTC) Monday 28th October. All nations publishing a scorinated set of season results are invited to enter up to four teams. Clubs should be entered based on performance within the association's main competition. Associations which participated in WCHC9 may submit a single venue to be considered for hosting the final of WCHC10.
I'm not on the Greenwich Meridian so my time is a few seconds behind. Bear that in mind.
