Prime Minister Davies has been keen to avoid the topic of Rodarion in recent conferences.
Could he consider both his and their actions to be harmful to his reelection wishes?
Isn Deslen, Belfras - For many in Belfras, it is time to begin looking inward at the upcoming 2014 Parliamentary Elections. The two previous elections saw the Conservative party, under Ian Davies, win by a landslide and then a narrow margin. The biggest concerns on everyone's minds will be the performance of the Conservative party in past and present crisis' that Belfras has been involved or not involved with mutually. Ian Davies twelve years in office have seen drastic changes to the country from heightened tax to a complete revamp of the Armed Forces. The most prominent being the commissioning of the mostly classified Svarog SSBN and the as-of-yet unnamed replacement of the Perun BBVN, moves considered rash and 'archaic' in modern society where the nuclear threat is virtually non existent. A 2012 study showed that the threats that do exist are more than handled by the Bjorlan SSBN, much smaller than the Svarog.* Resolution of domestic economic downturn.
* Increased funding to border protection force.
* Creation of a new border protection organization.
* Revamp of Drug Enforcement Bureau.
* Lowered subsidiaries to Provinces with zero debt.
* Decreasing retirement age from 67 to 62.
* Subsidize small businesses in start-up costs to be repaid when that business is successful.

Davies' and the Conservative's main rivals are unsurprisingly the Unionist Party, whom claimed second position and occupy the formal opposition. The Unionist Party, which has been led by Theodore Lechance since 1985, has been critical of Ian Davies' leadership, calling it 'Old fashioned', 'dangerous', and 'borderline warmongering at times'. Despite this, Mr. Lechance launched a tirade against Rodarion which was aimed at Pope Pius III and the then-president Ceausecsu. Lechance's tirade drew condemnation from both the Conservatives and the Rodarion government, which was offended by Pope Pius III being labelled as a 'child molester' by Mr. Lechance.
Theodore Lechance has been largely out of the spotlight since his tirade in may but has been spotted at several fundraisers and a Unionist meeting held earlier this month to discuss the parties election campaign. It has been widely acknowledged that the Unionist's victory in the 2008 elections came as a protest vote in the immediate aftermath of the Kunarii riots, which saw dozens killed in days of violence. The evidence is that the Belfras United party, a group which actively seeks to reestablish the Belfrasian Empire, went from a single seat to being third in the 2008 election, despite being in the elections for the past one hundred years. If this is the case then it could be possible for the New Tories or the Masons to reclaim top spot, having been out of contention since the 2008 election.
"As much as they could be an protest vote, they could be a change in public opinion." Sir Nathan Wilsingham told reporters. Sir Wilsingham served as a senior guardsmen to King James during the first years of his reign and has since been deeply involved in politics.
"What you have to realize is that in 2008 people started seeing the world with new eyes. Wars broke out, some of which our country was involved in, and the end results were nothing that were worth the lives lost. Of course, six years has passed. But let's look at what's going on in recent months or even years that could persuade the vote. Davies faced off against Rodarion, a move that angered many Catholics in the country. True, they were insulting the country and even made an attempt to steal some of our maritime waters in the Draganesti, but it still angered people. War was almost declared for it and the man responsible is now about to rot in a maximum security prison. True, Davies was credited for the role, but it is hinted that Pope Pius III was tired of Corlățean's antics prior to the situation starting. I'll not even start on crime, with crime rates going up and the amount of drugs coming from the Western Confederation being higher than ever. People may be tired of Davies and his leadership, or they may vote him back in. Nobody has a clue at this stage, it is what's exciting about politics!"
With people scheduled to hit the voting booth on the second weekend of the new year many are already looking ahead to a Belfras under, potentially, a new leader. As is custom, any new Prime Minister will have to travel to the Golden Palace to receive formal acceptance by His Majesty King James, who has only seen two Prime Ministers in his fifty-year reign. Should the kings health decline further he may abdicate the role to that of the first in line, his daughter HRH Princess Catherine. Despite Catherine being the second child of King James and Lady Biel's marriage, her eldest sibling was forced from succession after being convicted of rape in 2004. HRH Prince Eduard has, since his release in 2009, been in the service of the Kings Gvardiya and married Lady Jessica Antell-Achilles.Nathaniel Ridgewood reported on this from Isn Deslen with the assistance of his junior correspondence team.Comments [ 83 ] | E-mail this article
