It's not a human contest either.
It should be a requirement nowadays for hosts to make special arrangements for entrants that aren't sapient and can't fit into a shoebox.

But what if those arrangements involve "we'll leave you with a sandwich while everyone else performs?"

By "arrangements", I refer to this:

The green rooms are located backstage, and will be a lounge, enabling participants from different countries to mingle with one another. It will be close to the dressing rooms, which are also backstage.
(NOTE: If your nations entrants include animals, a special area backstage will be provided for them, unless they're small enough to comfortably fit in a tissue box.)

THE ACRADDIAN HOST BID;
BLESSAVILLE, ACRADDIA

Image
The theme that has been chosen for the contest is 'Immerse Yourself', which has been left as unspecified and unrelated to any specific object or concept to leave it open and applicable to all sorts of aspects of your life. It allows for a wider interpretation to be made by the individual; and is merely an ancient Accradian saying which basically means that you should immerse yourself in all aspects of your life.
The mythical creature that is featured on the logo is one taken directly from Accradian mythology and is known locally as the 'Bestallez'. Legend has it that the creature once held Princess Lilliana captive for three weeks, before releasing her in exchange for pure knowledge. It was then that he returned to the kingdom with new knowledge, and had discovered the secret to true happiness; which was, of course, immersing oneself into all aspects of their life.

Image
The city of Blessaville is known as 'the city of the countryside', based on its strange make up. Although technically an urban area, the city is surrounded by miles and miles of countryside, and even the city itself has parks, green spaces, woods, a river and other typically rural features within the walls. The city itself is one of the ancient kingdoms that make up the newly formed nation of Acraddia, and has been a city since its settlement in the early 3rd century, and has been a stronghold ever since. Because of its ancient history, the city's architecture is hugely varied; with many of the buildings dating back to the Medieval period and the 19th Century. Many people comment on how effortlessly both the rural and urban intermingle, but also how well linked the modern and the old are - with many high street stores having shops within the old buildings.
The city provides those that visit it with a sense of relaxation; with this aspect placed highly upon both the agenda of the city's citizens but also the people of Acraddia. Whilst visiting, one should note the abundance of street performers and artists; taking advantage of the rural settings to make the most of their time. Blessaville is famed for its easy quality of life and the fresh air; with little pollution about. At night, the true wonders of the city come alive when the stars in the sky become visible. Due to its geographical position, some of the stars are appear a lot brighter and clearer than in further off places and visitors should ensure they spend at least one night looking at the stars.

Image
When arriving in Blessaville, the easiest way in is Blessaville International Airport; an ultra modern airport approximately 15 minutes from the city centre. The airport supports flights to hundreds of destinations meaning that there will be at least one departing flight from your country each day to ensure easy arrival.
The transport system within Blessaville is integrated not only with the other forms of public transport, but also with daily life. This has made the use of cars almost redundant within the city; with less than 10% of the city's population actually owning one. Most people prefer to use the extensive tram service that runs throughout the city linking all parts as one. As well as this, is the buses which run on a ten-minute schedule and with all routes linking back to the centre of the city. Should one feel like the surface is not for them, they can take on the extensively built network of underground trains with three main tracks running across the city, with a new train arriving at a station every 5 minutes.
For those wishing to travel further afield and explore more of Acraddia, then the De Mastle Train service is exactly for you; famous for its picturesque routes many people often look forward to the journey just as much as the final destination. There are two stations in the city where this service runs from; one from the airport directly and then a further one from Blessaville Central.

Image
The city boasts some of the best hotels, cottages, caravans, campsites and apartments that Acraddia has to offer; with ranges suitable for all types of budget. Whether you're after a 5* city pad with all modcons and a spa to boot, or a relaxing cabin in the woods with little more than a fire and a bed; Blessaville can accommodate your needs. Be sure to book early though, because its sure to fill up extremely quickly!
A lot of the accommodation available is bespoke and unique in itself; such as the Blessavillan Wood Cabin as seen in the pictures; with no others being found in the city. As well as this, is the opportunity to stay in some of the oldest buildings in Acraddia; such as Chateau de Orme and Blessaville Castle, one of the uniquest opportunities for accommodation in the world.

Image
With its reputation as the 'city of the countryside', many of the activities that are on offer in Blessaville are typically associated with that of rural areas. Take a picnic in the Machant Hills, or a walk through the Forest of the Eyes; famed worldwide for the mysterious eye paintings that can be found all over the trees. Or maybe you're more of a sporty type; try whitewater rafting in the River Arche or a spot of golf on the world renowned Plaza de Golf - the biggest golf course in all of Acraddia.
There are, however, some typically city activities that can be done. Shopping is a major draw of the city; specifically Raxicon Street famed for its vintage and retro clothes and Cardion Jardin, filled with stylish designers and boutiques galore. Whilst exploring the streets, you'll notice many street performers, filling the area with sweet music and the air with the sounds of melodies and harmonies. There's even a thriving nightlife in the city, with a huge range of themed nightclubs, pubs, cafes and restaurants that make the city come alive at night.

Image
The arena; known as Outdoorsica, makes good use of the fantastic Acraddian summer by maximising the use of the outdoor space. Those who say wish can pay to have a seat under the cover and close to the stage, and experience what would be considered as the 'classical contest experience'. For a lower price, one can buy a ticket and merely turn up with a picnic basket and towel and take a seat on the grass. With hundreds of screens and loud speakers set throughout the area, wherever anyone chooses to sit they can see and hear the contest as if they were sat at the very front. Should the weather turn, which is highly unlikely, there are huge marquees set up in various areas to house audience members until the rain subsides.

Image
The stage is ultra modern - fitted with LED lighting throughout to create a continuous flow of light that can be used almost as a screen there are that many lightbulbs throughout. Behind, standing directly across the backdrop is a giant screen that is an opening door, which performers can use to enter or leave should they so desire. To the sides of the stage are a set of stairs that can be climbed by performers if they wanted to. The stage itself stretches far into the audience, moving into a catwalk of sorts, with the audience seated on both sides of the part that sticks out; allowing the performer to fully immerse themselves in the performance, as per the motto of the contest.

[just one last time plays softly in the background] My bid guys :)

Afsakið 27 bid.

Theme+Postcards

Image

The theme this year is "Make it Happen". On the field or on stage, in class or in front of thousands, you need to make it happen. It's a universal ideal, something passed down from generation to generation to motivate others. It gives people a sense of hope, to believe in themselves. 3 simple words, with so much more meaning. That's what Afsakið is trying to do with Worldvision 27; have a great show with more to it than the music itself. This isn't about the city, the country or anything else in particular. It's about the world and the music in it. With Worldvision, we can make it happen.

The theme will also carry into the postcards, with "Make it Happen" translated into the national language(s) of the performing country, with their colors in the style of the picture above.

The City

Image

Welcome to Afsakið! Home to 85,000 people, this former fishing village has grown into a popular destination for people seeking serenity and a haven from the hustle and bustle of city life. The city is seperated into two districts: Giinmal (seen above), and Nermain. Giinmal is the old district, where only about 8,000 of the city's residents live. Most live in Downtown Nermain, where many businesses and shops of various types can be found, to cater almost any and every need. Something unique to the city is that modern, futuristic architecture is sparsely found, for many want to keep to the cities roots, and keep traditional styles alive. The city overall gives off a very classic, timeless feel from the very moment you enter, and we're sure you will enjoy your stay.

Culture

Image

Bloodbathians are known for their warm, welcoming personalities, but no place is it more evident than here in Afsakið. Even with the city growing steadily every year, people are always friendly, and we all know each other somehow. Giinmal and Nermain both have distinct flavors to them, and they both compliment each other to create a vibe that cannot be put into words. We are a mainly Protestant city, with about 60% of citizens associating themselves with the United Methodist church. Afsakians are also very outdoorsy people, However, Afsakið welcomes all cultures, religions and people of all types to our wonderful city. With the annual Coronescos Fiesta happening this month, and the Autumn Equinox celebrations soon along with other festivities throughout the year for everyone, we are a city you gotta see to believe!

Transport

Image

Afsakið is a river town, so instead of bridges, hundreds of bagyens, or watter caddies, transport citizens from one side of the river to the next, with the farthest journey being around 20 minutes. After pollution levels were seen rising a few years ago, cars were banned, and mass transport was encouraged. 5 years later, the city is a model for green transport, with little fuel emmisions released from the busses, underground rail systems and simple boats save the environment, save people money and keep an Old World feel to an increasingly New World around the city.

Nature

Image

Afsakians pride themselves in their love of nature. The city institueted a revolutionary program letting children learn outdoors, whether it be about conservation, science or a simple hike for leisure, teaching a new generation about the world around them. 2 national parks, Rainbow Lake and Jendape NP. Citizens are also encouraged to visit these parks, and Leave No Trace is strictly enforced throughout the area, with Afsakið being named "Greenest City" by the National Nature Council for the past 4 years. Whether it be hiking, fishing, water activities or a simple walk around a park, there is nature all around us, and we are proud to embrace it.

Accomodation

Image

One factor that had initially hindered the city for years was a lack of accomodation. However, along with the new Igloo Valley hotel development, 3,000 one-room river-tels will be availible to guests. With the size of an average hotel room, these unique accomodations are situated along the Nermain River, all no more than 15 miles from the venue. Connected by a series of pathways, they can hold up to 3 people. Seen above is the Jaanson Hotel, where contestants and their delegations will stay. This hotel is located just outside the city, at the place where the Nermain and Green Rivers converge.

Venue

Image

Onto the venue! Built in 2011 for the Bloodbathian National Games, the 12,000 seat Porlutavi Arena is a cozy yet ample venue for this years Worldvision. Situated inside the larger Afsakið Convention Center, the exterior will also serve as an outdoor viewing area, where up to 100,000 people from all over the world can watch the show free of charge in the Plaza. The VIP Boxes will be reserved for broadcasters and dignified guests (heads of state and other important people).

Stage

Image

Now onto the stage! This year, the stage will be in the center of the arena. 4 wing-shaped screens will be above the stage, guaranteeing everyone will have an ample view of the performer. The main stage will be a layered star, with 2 runways (left and right) to work with however you wish. The top layer of the stage can be lifted, and the wires holding the 4 screens can be illuminated as well, along with fireworks down the runway, light changing under the stage, all that fancy stuff, and whatever else you set your mind to! The design is very flexible, modern and innovative, and is sure to impress on the big night!

Green Room

Image

Welcome to the green room! This area will be located right in the middle of the audience. Each delegation will have a pod with their flag and nation name. Everyone is encouraged to interact, and the green room will be open to the public before and after the show. Inside these pods will be up to 10 screens to view the show (depending on the size of the team) and a small snack bar and fridge under the table to store food and eat delicious Afsakian and Bloodbathian delicacies.

Make it Happen! Sincerely,

the Afsakið 27 team.

The stage itself stretches far into the audience, moving into a catwalk of sorts, with the audience seated on both sides of the part that sticks out; allowing the performer to fully immerse themselves in the performance, as per the motto of the contest.

I quite liked this. Just one question, what are the postcards going to look like?
Did I miss that?

WorldVision 27 Host Bid for Hoshikawa, Groteberg
Image
History
Image
In 1100, Hoshikawa was built near the Hino river. By 1200, there were 1,200 people in it. By 1500, the city rose into a massive city of thirty-three million people, eventually. In 1722, its population of 56,314,302 (which was 20% of the population) was heavily struck by a plague. Only 30 million survived (28 million evacuating). The population fell to 1,573,053 by 1750. The population kept falling decade by decade. In 1800, it was 784,194. In 1820, it was 225,193. In 1840, it was 20,192. The city only had 9,496 people by 1860. The city started rebuilding in 1875. In 1900, there were 152,953. In 1940, there was 1,501,193. In 1980, there were 11,238,189. As of 2013, there are 37,943,294 people.
Airport

The airport the contestants will go through the Hoshikawa International Airport (星川国際空港, Hoshikawa Kokusai Kūkō). Its IATA code is HKK. It was opened in 1966, and it has about 20,000,000 passengers every year.
Hotel
Image
The hotel the contestants are to stay at is called the Perrault Hotel. It is named after Anne-Marie Perrault (1884-1964), a former Grotebergish Prime Minister (1913-1921). It is 2121 feet tall, and has 200 floors. Each floor has 150-250 rooms. There are about 40.000 hotel rooms in this building. The hotel rooms reserved for the contestants are far better than the ordinary hotels. The contestant rooms (unlike ordinary rooms) have satellite TV (as opposed to Cable), solar-powered air conditioning, a swimming pool, and classical games.
Venue

The stadium which is where WorldVision will be at is the Hoshikawa Dome (星川ドーム). It was built in 2001 and can seat 50,000 people. It was also the host stadium for the GrotebergVision 2004 and 2009.
Attractions
The airport, hotel and stadium aren't the only places you can go to. You can go to the following places:
Image
*Hino Bridge (日野橋, Hinobashi): The longest suspension bridge at 7,500 feet.
Image
*Hoshikawa Sky Tower (星川天空タワー, Hoshikawa Tenkū Tawā): The tallest tower at 3,000 feet. Took from 2003 to 2011.
*Hoshikawa Subway (星川地下鉄, Hoshikawa Chikatetsu): More than 300 miles of subways, it opened in 1955,
*Hoshikawa is divided into six districts (区). They are:
**Kazahara (風原): A place full of sports.

**Sanjo (三条): A place full of technology.
**Akagi (赤城): A place full of cuisine.

The contest's theme will be "Music is Life" (音楽は命, Ongaku wa Inochi).

We are a nation of peaceful penguins, why would we want to kill? It is definitely krill.
