K.F.ô.N.
The Kalusiâv Fustabêl Ôrganatôn Nâtonatêv has brought Kalusia to the international field. This creates a lot of oppurtunities for young players to grow, and for experienced players to shine. Galêx Mobinôs is the coach of the Golden Stripes as they are named sometimes, and has brought the Kalusians to the final eight in the 52nd Baptism of Fire, even though losing the first two matches. Mobinôs has since the first match in the Baptism of Fire moved the team around a bit.

All home matches of Kalusia will be held in the Kalusia Vôrza Bowl, home to the top-team KVB, right in Blerten, the capital. It can hold 60.000 souls, and is known for its great ambiance. If, for any reason, the Vôrza Bowl is unavailable, the Waterpro Bore Stadium in Bore will be used, just an hour ride, which holds 53.000 seats.

DBK Sports – Football – Squad for World Cup 65

Written by Aaron Dartmouth

It's that time again, lads. The 65th World Cup is sneaking up quickly, and it will start very soon. This edition will be held in the Rushmorian nations of Saugeais and Pasarga.

This article will tell you about our squad for World Cup 65. This World Cup is our 5th. We have been average at best in our previous World Cups.

World Cup 61 qualifying was probably our best qualifying campaign so far. We finished 7th out of 9 in qualifying group 5, despite being unranked. This propelled us up to 141st in the world. World Cup 62 qualifying was pretty average - we finished 5th out of 8 in our qualifying group. World Cup 63 was even worse - we finished 6th out of 10 in our qualifying group, losing many games - including a 4-3 loss at home to Nation M. World Cup 63 qualifying was so bad that we sacked Colin Blackwell immediately after the end of it. World Cup 64 qualifying was slightly better, but we still finished 5th out of 10 in our qualifying group.

Let’s get on with the squad!

YBC Sports - Football - Squad for World Cup 65

By Aaron Bearven

Here, we will reveal our squad for the 65th World Cup, which will be held in the Rushmorian nations of Pasarga and Saugeais. This will be our fourth World Cup. We will be hoping to improve on our poor performances in our previous World Cups.

All players in the squad will be badgers. The badgers are all able to talk, and all have human intelligence. They are in our squad because the badger is our national animal. These badgers were all engineered to be able to talk and have human intelligence in harmless labs. This is a change from our last tournament (AOCAF 38), as we had humans in that squad.

Starting XI (4-1-3-2):
GK: Jay Farley (age 31)
RB: Martin Albertson (age 37)
CB: Anna Japlin (age 34)
CB: Cameron Barnes (age 33)

RW: Ben Ligerworth (age 28)
CAM: Tim Beaton (age 30)

'184 teams are taking part, 184 camps of hope, some contain top top players, some are just a crock of shit'

That is the refrain from Joy In Pays de Croix, a song by one of Ancharmunn's best known musical satirists celebrating the upcoming World Cup and which is currently on repeat across the nation's airwaves, and whilst the last part of those lines doesn't go into specifics many argue that it can refer only to one team. That of Ancharmunn's finest footballers. Though a popular sport in the country apathy over the national side and international football in general is at an all time high, largely in part due to constant politicking within the halls of Charmunnry soccer power. Such struggles have led the Football Commission of Aels to go their own way and sanction their own senior national side, ending the agreement allowing Aelsh players to wear the shirt of Ancharmunn. However those Aelsh players to have already represented Ancharmunn have been afforded the opportunity to either stick or switch, only captain Alun Jenkins has elected against pulling on the green of Aels.

Kits

Despite the lack of Aelsh characteristics in the previous set of kits the National Soccer Board have nonetheless commissioned kitmakers Trinity to come up with something new for this exciting new era of Charmunnry football that the NSB are doing their best to put on a brave face for. Trinity have pulled out all the stops in an effort to come up something suitably tawdry for a mid-ranking bunch of no-hopers. Take that Kirola!

The Karditan Robber Barons

Soccer is illegal in Karditan (though gaining a larger underground support, largely thanks to the national team qualifying for WC63). Thus, this is a team of criminals and corrupt businessmen. All players with no further notation are human.

Starting 11

Goalkeeper- Emanuel Portico. One of the most successful petty thieves in all of Karditan (as well as being surprisingly worldly, having spent several years hiding abroad), he is incredibly agile and specializes in predicting the movements of adversaries. While his reflexes are starting to dull as he progresses into his thirties, he's still an extremely skilled shot-stopper, having been the second-best keeper during WC63 qualification (let's not talk about WC63 itself, or WCQ64). Happily married to Sweet Swing.

Left Back- Xavier Helm. A man oddly obsessed with the middle ages, he's suspected of several sword-, bow-, crossbow-, and trebuchet-related deaths. He swears that only the trebuchet ones were his fault, as he was still trying to figure out how a sexton worked. The rest he apparently just uses to hunt. Mostly deer, but it's not odd for him to bag the occasional mountain lion or bear. Plays in his full suit of armor, which slows him down (but not as much as might be expected. He's been training in that armor for a long time) but makes him much more intimidating.

Center Back- Porfirio Mendoza. The commissioner of the Karditani Baseball League, Porfirio is a true sportsman who can appreciate any sport. He honestly does not understand the abhor the rest of Karditan has for soccer, and hopes to improve the sport's reputation. He's also a brilliant strategist, heading up one of the best defenses in the world.

Center Back- Dust Pan. [Unicorn] The head janitor in Silveen Eleco's Fillydelphia estate (see below), he is incredibly quick and maneuverable--taken from years of experience darting through needlessly elaborate hallways and corridors to fix any problems that appeared anywhere on the massive grounds.

Right Back- Red Trotski. [Earth Pony] An infamous public speaker hailing from Moscolt. Hated pretty much universally for his vocal support of Communism, but isn't actually a criminal. Karditani free speech laws are pretty lenient. He has been known to make foals cry.

Defensive Midfielder- Havr Milosivek. A freelancer who spends most of his time roaming the streets of Moscolt, Havr is a generally amiable guy who isn't afraid to smash a few shins if you push his buttons the wrong way. If his Russian accent gets thick enough that you can barely understand what he's saying, you should probably stay away from him; but that doesn't happen too often. Will sometimes have to leave the pitch temporarily to respond to calls from his cousin Roman.

Midfielder- Yong-Hu Cho. Leader of the largest Triad in Neighpon. A bit of an amateur in organized crime when compared to Korzado and Carnac (see the spoiler), but still not a man you want to cross--he is far more focused on revenge and overt displays of superiority than the other two (which is very amateurish in a crime boss). Probably the most likely of the starting eleven to get red-carded. Also skilled at crossing.

Forward Midfielder- Sweet Swing. [Earth Pony] The one member of the Robber Barons who is neither a criminal nor a bad person. She's the daughter of famous Karditani golfer Tyre McIron, and happily married to Emanuel Portico. On the pitch, she's a very dynamic player, being able to fulfill most roles whenever the situation calls for it.

Forward- Lightning Heart. [Buffalo] A bison with a bad temper. Really, that's it. More assault & battery convictions than you can shake a horn at. Isn't very swift, but few people will want to be in his way if he gets up to speed.

Forward- Mario Cansetta. One of the higher-ups in Korzado's organization (see the spoiler), Mario is in charge of collecting protection fees in Sinsinatti as well as organizing the official unofficial street racing league of Karditan. He's generally good-natured (he tries to convince his clients to pay their fees because he genuinely doesn't want to beat them a new one), and is fiercely competitive. He'll take some bad shots, but it's damn hard for defenders to keep up with him.

Striker- Richard Bunson. The recently-ascended heir of a multi-billionaire oil tycoon and rumored chronic arsonist, Bunson is not a nice man. Not outright mean, but he'd walk past a crying child without a second thought. He's also 7'1", having been a star basketball prospect until the bottom fell out of Karditan's major basketball leagues, so he's a rather big target up front. More coordinated than his lanky appearance might suggest, he's very good in the air.

Manager- Morrgo-Gerrna Thunder. [Bear] A former footballer and manager from Bears Armed, Morrgo-Gerrna was caught up in a technicality of the law and needs to spend some time outside the reach of the authorities. What better way for her to safely stay on the lam while also continuing her passion for football than managing the best criminal squad (and the second-best not-entirely-humanoid squad) in the multiverse?

Offensive Coach- Korzado. [Zebra] One of the few Zebras in Karditan, Korzado runs the Illineigh Mafia. His influence can be found in almost every successful business venture in the city, as well as many in Detrot and Sinsinatti. A legion of all types of creatures serve him, and he might be the only being richer than Eleco (see below) in Karditan--but he doesn't flaunt his wealth like Eleco does. Almost all of it is re-invested, whether in businesses or bribes.

Defensive Coach- Carnac Carson. The biggest personality in Karditani crime, Carnac is the guy you go to when you need a hookup. Everyone who is anyone has grabbed a beer with him at one point or another. Is rumored to have some future-telling powers.

Financier- Silveen Eleco. The Man in Karditan. He runs Eleco Industries, the largest company in Karditan's largest industry--Electronics. He inherited the moderately-sized business from his father, Sylvester, and grew it to enormous proportions with brilliant economics and some underhanded business practices. He organized the Robber Barons and put together their entry into the World Cup, maintaining a large role on the running of the team though he no longer plays.

Substitutes
These guys are mostly small-time thugs and petty criminals.

GK- Roberto Alvinia
D- Uma Logria
D- Elana Rzedkevich
D- Brutus (Pegasus)
M- John Bum
M- Rain Out (Pegasus)
F- Sonny Wesel
F- Lug Nut (Earth Pony)

Formation: 4-3-3
Style Mod: -2.5

Home field: Silveen Eleco's personal pitch in his massive Fillydelphia complex. Visiting teams and a small cadre of visiting fans will be escorted through a convoluted network of underground tunnels that lead from the seaboard to the complex. No one is allowed to leave until the end of play. We don't want the Karditani cops catching wind of a soccer game, do we? You may start seeing some moderate crowds of Karditani fans appear, as the Soccer Legalization Front is starting to gain momentum.

After the Falcon's sub-par performance in the World Cup 63 qualifiers and their terrible showing in the Thirteenth Copa Rushmori, the Falconian FA nearly collapsed in on itself. The FA Chairwoman declared a state of emergency and the remaining staff that survived mass layoffs gathered at their mysterious grounds deep in the midland plains, where they tried to sort themselves out of the public's eye. The team has been restructured and retrained, and flopped horrendously at the latest Copa Rushmori (some are blaming that on the toxic environment of Taeshan, some on the lack of a manager after Jack Laughton's retirement, others just claim we're shite). The FFA has closed a deal with Audioslav David Radic, the assistant-manager of the double-double winning side that you should all be familiar with, to be their new manager. He'll likely be bringing a bit more of a defensive-mindset, but it's difficult to turn the Falcons into an out-and-out defensive side.

Nickname: The Falcons
Manager: David Radic, former assistant-manager of Audioslavia
Formation: 3-4-2-1

el Diezcondado (the Federal Team)

Postby Free South Califas » Sat Jun 15, 2013 6:10 pm

Represents the real-life Ten Counties of Southern California: mid-coast Los Angeles (43.3% of total population), far south coastal San Diego (13.6%), Orange (13.3%) in between, Riverside (9.7%) to the east, San Bernardino (9%) just north of that, northeastern Kern (3.7%), coastal-and-desert Ventura (3.6%) just north of LA, coastal Santa Barbara (1.9%) northwest of LA, coastal San Luis Obispo (1.2%) in the far northwest, and Imperial (0.8%) deep in the southeastern (inland) desert. For reasons of geographical convenience only, (San Diego, Orange, Riverside, Imperial) are called the "South Counties", while (San Bernardino, Kern, Ventura, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo) are the "North Counties" and Los Angeles County is considered separately as its own microcosm. (The distinction is more important in rugby, but also represents a gradient of industrial focus (S->N) from biotechnology to component manufacturing and repair, and of agriculture from fruits and meats to vegetables and dairy.)

Cars are banned throughout the Federation, except for transporting produce, farm implements, provisions and so forth. However, a thick, tightly-woven grid of public transit collectives and committees overlays the entire country, and high-speed rail connects even most small cities and towns. Most transit stops do not require more than a 5-minute wait during the day; the culture generally shares a more relaxed view of time, but the steady demand and constant human interaction make it a highly desired job where drivers who fail to keep a tight schedule are not as reliably supported by their unions, and are soon overtaken by more useful public servants.

Off pitch, FSC fans are known to be partial to live music and the odd kiloton of marijuana, sharing their own federal cannabis distribution collective and supporting a large number of traveling Califan bands with voluntary donations, taco sales and so on. The team also has salaried drummers who receive free tickets, and the noise situation at FSC home games can get a bit raucous, on account of there’s nothing to stop an amateur instrumentalist or several dozen from making the trip and sitting in the community free seats. Home games feature a ritual similar to the Mexican Wave which involves passing joints, although there is also the actual Mexican Wave, since this used to be Mexico. Matches in coastal counties may be disrupted by the throwing of beach balls onto the pitch, an old sports tradition which has never been fully extinguished.

In capitalist and/or authoritarian countries, FSC supporters can kick off a bit of a riot, when offended enough by local policies. Otherwise they are generally well-mannered with the odd exception, and in all cases they are encouraged by federal law and required by unwritten custom to volunteer some of their traveling time at local charities, particularly those involving the production and distribution of food, clothing and shelter.

In association football, rivals include Ko-Oren, Kinitaria, Osarius, Bostopia (but not so they'd notice), Unibot, and most recently Phoenigetuzstha, the latter three of whom we have upset in World Cup Qualifying; most devastatingly and consistently against Phoenigetuzstha, who we have disturbed in WC 61 and 62, but with similar consistency against a Bostopian team which would have had no mathematical reason to care. Unibot is the only nation which has had its WCQ travel restricted on our end; in their case, by outstanding arrest warrants for diplomats and government officials suspected of breaking regional law. The first three rivals listed are FSC's opponents in traditional pre-qualifying friendlies, and this time the lists have merged as Osarius has been drawn into our group.

Profit (defined as revenue kept by an individual in excess of any reasonable need or causing the danger of exploitation, without being reinvested into productive or socially useful activity) is outlawed in Free South Califas. Visitors, ICly, are recommended to generally refrain from selling things, except for the direct benefit of an obvious and legitimately charitable cause, in order to avoid any trouble. There is no specialized police force, but FSC citizens are trained to conduct citizen's arrests and have a deep interest in maintaining order and stability.

Most often in the internationally recognized capital city of Los Angeles (actually no more important than any other city except in the natural influence of its gigantic size), the FSC government offers visitors the unusual opportunity to provide direct input at special meetings of the International Solidarity and Diplomatic Affairs Committee, the federal government's equivalent of a foreign policy department. Citizens of other countries in The Internationale also have full voice and partial vote in meetings of the Region Relations Council. For more on the unique government of Free South Califas, see here.

THE FEDERAL TEAM
EL DIEZCONDADO

presented by the Football Assembly
International Sporting Affairs Commission
116th Federal Assembly, Federated Communities of Free South Califas

My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:

Choose my goalscorers Y
Godmod scoring events Y (within reason)

RP injuries to my players N
Godmod injuries to my players N

Hand out yellow cards to my players Y (sparingly, they are generally disciplined)
Hand out red cards to my players Y (sparingly, they are generally disciplined and hate divers)

Godmod other events - only related to earthquakes, droughts, wildfires, mudslides and other realistic weather events typical of Southern California or your country. Earthquakes are extremely common here, but rarely strong enough to break anything or even be noticed without sensitive equipment.

In winter, flooding can strand vehicles in the heavily-populated area around Mission Valley Stadium in San Diego, which itself is actually an emergency shelter in wildfire season (October in San Diego County).

In the course of extreme-weather RP, you may injure one of my players if realism requires it.
Do not kill anyone named in this post without my express permission.

NEW style for WC65 cycle: -2.1

FSC and CSL domestic club ImageHuntington Beach has had its ups and downs, falling from the best defensive performance in FSC Season 1 to a recent roller coaster in which they were relegated, achieved promotion, then were relegated again immediately afterward, last season. Starting center back Frida Rubaiyat and backup goalkeeper Gerlinda Strelc reached their limits of patience with the Orange County coastal city, moving to top-ranked FSC clubs ImageRancho Cucamonga and ImageSan Luis Obispo respectively, just in time for the Globe Cup. Utterly devoid of Federal Team stars for the first time, it is unclear whether or how the Huntington Beach club will recover its former glory.

Starting wing back Nadezhda Prokhorova has been loyal to the ImageLong Beach club of the major industrial and trade port city from coastal Los Angeles County, since the inception of the Federal Team, the lapsed Free South Califas Soccer League, the current Califan Solidarity League and the club itself. Even the departure of star striker Bela Ceh to ImageAFC Farnworth did not overly test her loyalty, but finishing mid-table in CSL Series B was just too much. As a result, she has moved to ImageRancho Cucamonga to shore up their defense along with Rubaiyat. Their core of two starting Federal Team defenders will certainly strike fear into opposing attacks. Returning to Long Beach, Federal Team backup midfielder Rufus Goldman also left, seeking a substantive shot at glory in UICA. Already sporting the best attack and defense in the CSL, ImageCalexico took him on in the hopes that he can help the back-to-back-to-back FSC champions regain the CSL title after it was won by the first foreign team ever, (CNA) Buffalo.

ImagePomona, a town beset by the mountains of eastern Los Angeles County and famous for its liberal arts colleges, was once a legitimate contender for the Globe Cup in the FSCSL and the subsequent CSL. Federal Team reserve wing-back Satel Norman once had cause to be optimistic, but their bottom-table finish in CSL Series B and impending relegation made such fantasies untenable. Not to be left out of the defensive arms race, former perennial Globe Cup contenders ImageSanta Maria enticed Norman's presence in order to shore up the third-worst defense in the CSL. Santa Maria have high hopes if they can reform their defensive effort, since they scored 60 goals and fell just three points behind Rancho Cucamonga for the last GC seed. Federal Team starting defender Onofre Reynoso Lovato appears to have been satisfied by this and other transactions that the club are serious about returning to their defensive roots.

Meanwhile, although they are still in CSL Series A and have never been relegated, ImageSan Diego have had probably their worst season ever, and seem far from their former constant presence in the Globe Cup. Federal Team starting midfielder Godvin Nes doesn't have too many more years to play, and has also moved to the new FSC powerhouse, seemingly unstoppable ImageCalexico, alongside Goldman. San Diego wing forward Cao Dong is considerably younger but has a taste for glory. ImageFontana, dominant in the first two COPACASUR domestic cups but fair to middling in league action, have reached a new recent high with their sixth-place CSL finish and Globe Cup entry and have brought on Dong in hopes that he can contribute some scoring punch.

Amidst a relative flurry of domestic movement, the Federal Team faces upheaval in other ways. After a lackluster performance following the apex of South Califas in World Cup qualifying which led to the Federation's first and thus-far only Cup of Harmony invitation, the future is less clear than ever, with Osarian manager Oswaldo "El Oscar el Loco" Garabona facing significant challenges to his prospective reelection. With the tacit understanding that Garabona was more likely to lose his reelection campaign than he had ever been before, and with the fear that organizational chaos could disrupt their enrollment as in the last two Olympics, in the name of stability the Football Assembly voted to extend "el Oscar"'s contract long enough for him to release a tournament roster. However, he acknowledged the uncertainty by insisting that the International Sporting Affairs Committee leave his name and those of other management staff off the official roster release.

He was not afraid to leave his mark, however, no matter who ends up moving forward with the team. He cut both backup goalkeepers, preempting Zlato Cokan's retirement announcement while leaving Strelc to try to recapture federal attention in her new digs at San Luis Obispo. Garabona also cut three of the four representatives from ImageBakersfield, bench players consisting of center forward Flavio Filippa (the lowest-scoring forward in the team's history) and defenders Falerina Jomphe (even with her 46 WCQ caps) and Artis Pariseau (a defense coach for the Califans' first federal team, who has said he will focus more on leadership within the still-anarchic club). Garabona also drafted new players from the top CSL teams, perhaps hoping that the visual impact of his scouting effort will help convince FA voters to return him to the managerial role.

That being said, until the managerial election campaign runs its course and the final candidate has been selected, it cannot be known for sure which will be the starting 11 at this point. As a result, instead of the traditional format listing starters and then reserves, players are listed by position and then by number of caps in order to approximate the most likely starters.

OOC note: All stats are outdated and do not include WCQ63 on.
Garabona will continue to be the manager.

OOC: For fair RP bonus attribution, most of the characters included on this roster are from the Doctor Who TV Series (and from a couple of Dr. Who books) and are either real, as in play a part in the series, or just random variations but from the species listed in Dr. Who. Some names will come from the members' list of this thread. For more background info, most of the species should be found on Wikipedia; except for Lazarus, for which you need to search for 'The Lazarus Experiment'. For the Raxacoricofallapatorians, search Slitheen. For Silurian, see 'Cold Blood' or 'The Hungry Earth' (followed by Doctor Who if necessary). For Rory, search 'The Pandorica Opens'.

Manager: Rassilon (Species: Time Lord; the first Lord President of Gallifrey, Rassilon created the Eye of Harmony, which gave the Time Lords their time travelling ability. All in all, he became the foundation of Gallifrey, although that may all be just public relations. He had discovered the secret to immortality, but was deposed by rebellious Time Lords, before going into an eternal sleep in the Tomb of Rassilon, located in the Death Zone. Late on in the Time War, he was seemingly brought back to direct the war efforts, but as he was willing to destroy the Time Vortex and thus the whole of creation [in the Whoniverse, if not all universes], to win the Time War, the Doctor time-locked him and the whole of Gallifrey.)
Assistant Manager: Adam Loftus (Normal human, aged 69; returned to the national team after a break of a few World Cups, but has basically been the behind the many managers there have been since the creation of the team back in World Cup 49 [OOC: a bit like Stuart Pearce of England].)
Coach: Sameer Ahmad (Normal human, aged 50; is the older brother of Shabeen, and also has one of the higher goal counts, but has been much eclipsed by his brother's success.)
Coach and Team blogger:Shabeen Ahmad III (Normal Human, aged 48; has scored over 200 goals for the EL national team, and is still an inspiration to everyone, nearly taking the team to the playoffs in World Cup 58, which has his first foray into full management.)

This team were all taken out of their respective time-lines by Time Scoop technology, so where some may be dead by this time, they are alive at this point in space-time. And it was the ELFA who did this, with the help of its inventor, Rassilon.

Goalkeepers:

Blon Fel-Fotch Pasameer-Day Slitheen: Species: Raxacoricofallapatorian (family: Slitheen); refer to as Blon. Was caught impersonating MI5's Margaret Blaine in 2005 (Earth time), where she and her family members were planning to instigate World War III and turn the planet into fissile material, ready to sell. With the plan destroyed by a well-timed Harpoon missile, she managed to escape, but was the only one. She then went on to become Mayor of Cardiff, using a nuclear plant and the Cardiff Rift to attempt to escape. She did, but in doing so regressed into an egg, and was delivered to the hatcheries on Raxacoricofallpatorius for a second chance at life.

The Abzorbaloff: Species: Unknown, but related to Raxacoricofallapatorians (albeit despising them); Originating from Raxacoricofallapatorius' twin planet, Clom, this particular one came to Earth and tricked a group of humans who were searching for the Doctor to join him, but eventually absorbing them all to satisfy his hunger.

Outfielders (Basically, this lot can play anywhere on the pitch apart from in goal):

Strax: He was a Commander for the Sontaran Military, but was disgraced for an unknown reason, and then was forced to become a nurse by the Doctor, to settle a debt. Has since become a member of the Doctor's Victorian London detective team.

Reaper: Species: Reaper; Flying bat-like creatures with scythe-like tails, the Reapers are extradimensional beings, who have the ability to materialise in normal spacetime when a paradox occurs, devouring everything in the area to repair the damage. They can be stopped by material barriers, the older the better, but not permanently, and a paradox on the other side of the barrier will let them through quicker.

Madame Vastra: species: Silurian; Is another of the people who the Doctor a debt, in this case, it is for saving her from a life of crime and hiding out in the early London underground, and she in turn became a veiled Victorian detective. Part of the Doctor's Victorian detective team.

Creet: species: Toclofane/Human (from the year 100 trillion and reduced to live inside metal balls); With the universe on the brink of ending, a group of humans were building a means of escape to "Utopia". With the help of the Doctor, they managed to do so, but only found darkness, and then they cannibalised themselves into this shape. This particular one was a young boy who worked in the sanctuary.

The Doctor: species: Time Lord, age: last confirmed to be 1103 (although he doesn't really know himself). Words cannot describe this man's life, but as for football, he's had "plenty" of experience, having played a match for the King's Arm Pub League Football team and scoring more than two hat-tricks in that single match (and now World Cups 59 through 62 alongside Copa Rushmoris and Cups of Harmony). Plays mainly up front.

Captain Jack Harkness: species: unknown (very humanoid though); Jack grew up on the Boeshane Peninsula as a kid and joined the Time Agency, but quit after a few years, becoming a con man with a Vortex Manipulator (basic time travel). After meeting the Doctor during the Blitz, Jack dies on Satellite 5 in the year 200,000, but is then brought back to life by the Time Vortex, effectively becoming immortal.

Rory the Plastic Centurion: species: Auton, created by the Nestene Consciousness; refer to as Rory; Dressed up in full Roman armour, Rory has had a miserable past, one that has included being killed, followed shortly after by not being born, followed by becoming a plastic duplicate with a full human consciousness. However, he is rather hardened by all this, and also has a gun in his right hand which he won't use, but will still throw himself into anything nothing less than fully committed.

Raston Warrior Robot: species: None, it is a machine; This robot has been called 'the most perfect killing machine ever devised', being able to move faster than lightning and to kill a troop of Cybermen in seconds. Its face is featureless, and its weapons are collapsible and miniaturizable, and so concealed. For the purposes of this campaign, its weapons have been remotely disarmed, but it still moves faster than normal humans can see.

Pyrovile: species Pyrovile; A humanoid being made of pure magma and volcanic rock, Pyroviles are vicious (albeit quite slow), not to mention being about 5 times the height of average humans when fully grown. Pyroviles originated from the planet Pyrovilia, but crash landed on Earth after their home was lost. They grew in the bowels of Mount Vesuvius, giving some of the locals the power of soothsaying. They planned to convert the entire human race to Pyroviles, and in turn create a new Pyrovilia. As a consequence of his magma nature, all match balls will be lined with lead to prevent them from bursting.

Jenny: species: Human/Time Lord hybrid; The Doctor was taken by the TARDIS to Messaline, where a war was raging between humans and fish-like humanoids called Hath. The Doctor then had his hand put into a progenation machine, used to produce clones for the war, and out came Jenny. She was later on killed by a commander who refused to accept the ceasefire, but then came back to life, having died in the presence of a terraforming device. She was last seen blasting off in the rocket, looking for adventure, and now she's here.

Modified Weeping Angel: species: Weeping Angel; modifications: only becomes a statue when opposition player with the ball is looking at it; No information known as of yet.

Professor Lazarus: Species: Severely mutated human (completely not humanoid at times), refer to as Lazarus; Professor Lazarus was eighty-odd years old, but invented a machine which could manipulate a person's DNA and make them younger. The first demonstration nearly catastrophically fails, but Lazarus emerges much younger. However, his DNA was since found to be unstable, and it showed when Lazarus changed into a scorpion-like creature that drained the life energy of other humans in order to keep him young.

Dalek Sec: Species: Human Dalek (Dalek that has taken on a humanoid form); After the Battle of Canary Wharf, the Cult of Skaro, now armed with the knowledge that they were the last Daleks in existence, escaped to 1930's New York, where they planned to recreate themselves in a humanoid form, by merging symbiotically with kidnapped humans deemed to be of superior intelligence. The leader of the cult, Dalek Sec, was the first to do so, merging with the businessman behind the building of the Empire State Building to form a Human Dalek. The remaining pure Daleks stopped the program upon seeing a Sec having emotions.

Silent: species: The Silence; The Silence is a religious order that believes that Silence will fall when the first question, the oldest question in the universe, is put to the Doctor, on the fields of Trenzelor, where no living creature can speak falsely or fail to answer. They attempted to bring down the Doctor through an abducted part Time Lord child (no relation to the Doctor), and kill him in a still point, thus creating a fixed point. But they failed.

Captain Tybo: Species: Judoon; refer to as Tybo; Is a Juddoon captain who crashed on Earth whilst transporting the Juddoon's most wanted criminal, Androvax the Destroyer, wanted for 12 counts of planetary destruction.

Vashta Nerada swarm: species: Vashta Nerada; The are microscopic organisms, which when swarming are completely indistinguishable from shadows, and being highly carnivorous, this plays into their hands. These Vashta Nerada number about 3,000,000, but are compacted into a humanoid form, for fairness. After a Kinitar player had his leg chewed off, the vashta nerada that played in that cup have been swapped for a vegetarian and pescetarian swarm (so fish people/giant vegetables beware).

Home stadium: Lodger City Memorial Stadium (cap. 150,000)
The national stadium of Eastfield Lodge since it was built not too long ago, it was built on the ruins of the old Lodger City, the former capital of Eastfield Lodge which was completely devastated by a nuclear disaster and floods within minutes of each other. It stands as a symbol of a new life, now even more prevalent after a horrible civil war and what not. But the new city has now become the footballing capital of Eastfield Lodge after some of the biggest teams moved in after Dillvill declared independence.

Because I can't be bothered to make a factbook, information about Eastfield Lodge can be found here, although some of it will be out of date. Including the facts that Dillvill declared independence and went back to normal reality, as did half the country's empire. And the fact that we are now located somewhere in Rushmore.

TSA WC65 Roster

Out of The Sova Empire came a nation of total opposites. The only thing that was agreed upon, was the importance of sports. They won their independence by a soccer game (a friendly that TSA won over TSE 4-2), and they set out to prove a point in the World Cup. The Sova Empire's team are known as the Margret Bashers, so The Sovan Antithesis are known as the Margret Worshippers. By law, all citizens of TSA are identified by a barcode and ID number. They always wear masks, are bald, and their gender is indistinguishable. Their style mod is +5.

Proudly presenting

The Legalese National Team Roster

for the qualifying campaign of World Cup 65

The Players
Keepers:
1 – Tarquin Waldrop, 25, Myre Town
22 - Noah Simpkin, 21, Rhinos
23 - Aaron Palmer, 20, Francis City

Defense:
2 – Benson Black, 23, The Knights of Tiberia
3 - Liam Todd, 32, Argyle Warriors
4 – Kenny Stroud, 24, International of Tyrellia
5 - Dwight Marcus, 26, Rhinos

19 – Cordell Wyman, 22, Francis City
20 - Irwin Boyd, 21, LC Capitals
21 - Jeff Donaldson, 18, Myre Town

Midfield:
6 – Jack Wayne, 30, Brecorn City

7 - Cyrus Damhan, 23, International of Tyrellia. Cyrus Damhan’s place
on this team makes him the first prominent “Islander” (i.e., someone
born on the Karin Isles) to assume a role with the National Team.
Born in Erodoeth, a small, rural, and very poor community near Wasola,
Cyrus’s talent went largely unnoticed, having been stuck on a number
of poor teams with untalented/unfocused players. He would continue
playing recreationally until the age of 19, when he was spotted by a
talent scout for International - who, incidentally, had been planning to
observe and try to sign the player assigned to mark Cyrus on defence.
The quiet, hard-working son of a teamster and a server has quickly
made a mark, being pushed to first-team and first-XI duty right away.

8 - Slade Brahm, 24, Draig Goch FC

14 - Sam Washington, 30, Bob's Towing
15 - Monte Kelshimer, 31, Tiberian City
16 – Ty Henderson, 27, Tiberian City
17 – Blake Carter, 19, Francis City
18 – Sherwood Hendry, 26, Ellentown Exempts

Forwards/Strikers:
11 - Xavier Boyle, 24, Mavaloiao (Vilitian Declasse)
10 - Jimmy Jay, 30, Bob's Towing
9 - Lane Wilson, 25, LC Capitals
12 - Blake Moor, 20, LC Capitals
13 - Ken Heath, Jr., 18, Knights of Tiberia

Permissions and Other Notes:

Opponents who RP first shall, as pertaining to Legalese, have any and all permissions they offer
in their roster's posted permissions, with the request to allow me to determine the length of any
major injuries, and to not kill off any players unless requested and permitted. Should a player not
post a roster and/or any RP permissions, they shall not be permitted a damn thing.

Also:
-All ages are as of the start of qualifying. As Legalese runs on the two-year cycle, players can be
expected to increase in age by at least one year through the end of qualifying and the start of the World Cup Finals.
-The Usual starters are denoted by the jersey numbers 1-11.
-The standard starting lineup shall be a 4-3-3, with a Style Modifier of +4. The back four play
in a three across with a sweeper behind, while the front includes a withdrawn forward of sorts,
a role alternated by the starting three throughout the match.

Managerial Staff, and others of Note
Manager: Stan Thate, 38 - Stan begins his third full campaign
as NT manager, having served initially as assistant manager during
the WC 63 qualifying attempt, and as interim manager during the
victorious 55th Cup of Harmony. A former national team goalkeeper,
Thate attempted to bring a different style to the team. However, the
recent changes in staffing indicated a return to the all-out attack
that proved successful in the past.

Assistant Manager: Rufus Teague, 44 - Rufus, from Tyrellia, is a bit
of an oddity. While born and raised in the Karins, Teague spent his
post-secondary days on the mainland, studying at Coastal University
in Sagdineo, where he studied economics and statistics; after a
five-year break to teach as part of the Federal Service program, he
returned to Coastal part-time for his MBA, achieved four years later.
His teaching in the Sagdineo Public Schools landed him at Bateman
High, where he was recruited to coach the soccer team, in addition
to covering business and finance in the classroom. It was here that
he was discovered, tapped by Stan Thate to join his staff.

Other Persons of Note:
Federation President: Vacant

Director of Football: Gabe Cushing. Cushing, in his late fifties, was
previously the National Team manager for an eight-year run, which
coincided with one playoff appearence, followed by back-to-back
successes in winning their qualifying group, becoming the first
manager to lead a Legalite side to qualification on merit. Sadly,
he’s been the only manager to do so, leading to his return, now
in a position of oversight for the National Team.

Matches hosted by Legalese in the qualifying round will take place in one of four stadia,
with the RP posts to include more detailed information:

Jordan National Stadium - Legalese City
Located in the nation's capital, Jordan National Stadium serves as the primary stadium for the Federation's national team,
as well as the home pitch for the club side LC Capitals. Like most major stadia in Legalese, it is an all-seater, with a
capacity of 83,068 through the three tiers of seating, as well as a bank of 20 private boxes. Four of the home qualifying
matches hosted by Legalese will take place here, and is the most likely site of a potential playoff at home.

The Park of the Phoenix - Tiberia
Located in Legalese’s northernmost city, a short drive from the border with Starblaydia,
The Park of the Phoenix (aka. Phoenix Park) is the newest stadium in Legalese, having opened in time to host a
friendly between the National Team and the defending World Champions, Audioslavia, followed by the
52nd Baptism of Fire Championship Match. The stadium features a retractable roof, which folds into a configuration
meant to resemble flames rising from the arena, as well as a movable natural grass pitch, permitting games to be
played indoors on a top-condition field, yet still provide the ability for the grass to grow and remain healthy even
when the stadium needs to be used for other purposes. The Park of the Phoenix seats 63,239, and will host
two of the home qualifying matches.

International Park - Tyrellia
Located in the Karin Islands city of Tyrellia, International is traditionally the home of International of Tyrellia,
as well as the host of the Island Cup. A horseshoe-style stadium, International Park seats 52,184, with 49,184 in seats,
and another 3,000 capacity in a single terrace, located behind the south end.
Two of the home national team qualifiers will take place here.

Coastal Pitch at Wilson Gulch - Sagdineo
Located on the southern shores of Lake Bekk, Coastal Pitch is normally the home of both Bekknia Athletic,
as well as Coastal University, who became co-owners of the stadium after helping to finance renovations.
The stadium consists of 67,982 seats, and is an all-seater. Will host one selected qualifier.

City Stadium - Francis City
Located in Legalese's most populous city, City Stadium was build by the City as part of an aim to become
the site of future national team events, as well as the host to multiple Francis City - area clubs in future
domestic competition. It seats 52,132, using a rectangular style that contains no corner seating, but keeps
the fans close by stacking the three tiers of seats at a sharp angle. Upon revealing the design, the architect
commented that it "will provide the proper acoustics to make the stadium feel like there's
100,000 cheering on the home team". Will host one selected qualifier.

Filopines national football team
World Cup 65 Roster

Manager
Harley Reid (Aged 49)
2nd World Cup qualifying

Tactics
Formation - 4-2-2-2
Style - +3.5

Goalkeepers
Kenneth Nolder (20) - GK - Far Point Islanders (The Babbage Islands)
The young man from Lavande has risen high and has shot his way up to the number-one goalkeeper in the nation. He was also the first ever Filopinian player to play in a domestic league in another nation.

John Garcia (28) - GK - Fort Town Galaxy
Consistency is this man's middle name. He has shown this at both international and domestic level. Despite being ousted from his spot as number-one keeper for Filopines, he is still a star player.

Michael Lansangan (19) - GK - Port United
Still at the very young age of nineteen, Lansangan is still not yet the first choice keeper for Port United but is soon to be. Has great potential.

Defenders
Jason Dayley (30) - LB - Corvin Club de Fútbol Vice-captain
One of the greatest Filopinians to step out on the field, 2IC Jason Dayley is eager to play in a World Cup proper. Adored by many Filopinian fútbol fans.

Dale Sheldon (28) - LB - FC Dalusod
Flying under the radar until World Cup 64, Sheldon is now just a centimeter behind VC Dayley for a starting spot. Since David Arbeloa retired, a spot for a defender on the bench has freed up and Sheldon could fill that up perfectly.

Ben Arden (24) - CB - Barnton FC
Arguably the best centre-back in the entire Repúblika, Arden is also a high jumper and a good header.

Lawrence Cahill (20) - CB - Barnton FC
Cahill and Arden creates a impenetrable wall in defence for the present and the future. Playing on the same team in the Filopines Premier League, it's no wonder that Barnton are the reigning champions.

Jared Del Mar (31) - CB - New Capiz Wanderers
Despite his age, this is his first call-up to the national team. Very strong header.

Mark Viney (25) - RB - Ebbtoll Fury
Provides speed and skill from the defence and sets up fantastic goals.

Robin Tuazon (17) - RB - Lavande United
Aged seventeen and already has been called-up for the national team. Very pacey.

Midfielders
Luis Rodriguez (26) - LDM - Fort Town Galaxy
The best midfielder in all of Filopines is ready to increase his fame world-wide.

Ross Hart (19) - RDM - AFC Darlington
A rising star. Touted to be a future vice-captain or maybe even captain.

Paul Rhett (41) - CDM - Retired at domestic level
The evergreen midfielder still has speed and skill despite his age. It is unknown if he will retire at the end of the campaign.

Thomas Rosberg (22) - CM - Luton Knights FC
Already a star despite still being at a tender age. Rosberg and Hart along with Rodriguez create a great partnership in the middle of the field.

Marcos Cabañas (17) - CM - Palace
Tall and strong and has amazing potential. He has the potential to play anywhere he wants.

Shaun Albrecht (25) - CAM - Downham FC
Star player for Downham, Albrecht receives his first call-up to the national team and is set to come bursting out of the blocks.

Forwards
Ahmed Dibay (20) - LS - Ebbtoll Fury
Star striker for Filopines. Possibly the quickest on his feet and the most skillful.

Jack Harodzic (24) - RS - Parkton FC
Harodzic is the typical big man in the box. Also quick on his feet.

Daniel Lao (18) - ST - Rosalo Fighters
Lao can be anything he wants to be in the future. He could even be a tree with his height.

Fernando Martinez (31) - ST - Foley Town
Last World Cup, he was always third in line. And he still is. Not much to say really. He is getting old, to be honest. Not much left to offer.

Jason Hale (31) - LW - Rosalo Fighters
Getting old but still a consistent performer.

Scott Danson (23) - LW - Parkton FC
Hopes to take advantage of Hale's age and take over his spot in the starting lineup.

Stephen Cayley (21) - RW - Fort Town Galaxy Captain
High expectations to perform as he is the captain but never fails. Consistent performer always.

Aaron Bolbing (28) - RW - Corvin Club de Fútbol
The x-factor of the team. Very skillful and very speedy.

Introducing the Barunia Suns World Cup 65 campaign!

With the Sun's surprisingly good performance in their first World Cup Qualifiers (they were eliminated in the play-offs, for those who weren't paying attention), Barunia once again returns to the fray with high hopes of making it all the way to the World Cup. But with their dismal performance in the Cup of Harmony, some have suggested that the Sun's were just a flash in the pan. Ready to prove them wrong, Coach Stephen Wiggens returns with an all-star team.

NB: As is typical of football teams in Barunia, the Suns do not have a manager. The Coach is responsible for managing the team.

Formation and Style
The Suns play a 3-1-3-1-2 formation, using specialised midfielders to provide extra offence or defence when needed. Typical Barunian play involves short passes through the midfield, working the ball up to the strikers. Attacks may be made by the two or three players, with the attacking midfielder (sometimes a centre forward) often pressing forward on goal. In defence, the Suns rely on a three layered defence, with the defensive midfielder as the first line. SHould he be beaten, the right and left centrebacks come into play. The third layer is the centreback, who rarely leaves the box. The Suns do not employ an offside trap.

Penalty Takers: V. Castolo; F. Sagoro; C. St.John; P. Zokora; G. Plant; T. Featherstone; H. Montoya; J. Marris; H. Centena; D. Samson
Left Corner: H. Centena; J. Haynes; Bhara
Right Corner: C. St.John; J. Haynes; Bhara
Free Kicks: F. Sagoro; P. Zokora; J. Haynes; C. St.John

Style: -2

Manager: Bridget Scroves

Goalkeepers:
1. Joshua Farthing (Sporting Esper) (m) Gives his own lipogram interviews, which is basically where we want to set our goalkeeper-eccentricity levels in general.
13. Emily Winters-Neumann (Twineur Bugs) (f) Somewhat more withdrawn.
23. Bruce Millar (Excelsior Slogda) (m) The more outgoing one.

Defenders:
2. Dima Novak (Excelsior Slogda) (m) Tallest starter.
3. Jerzy McFetridge (Keppal Cosmos) (m) Fast going forward, also can be quick to sort of come to terms with weird stuff going on and adjust to that.
4. Brett Chrowder (Canbix Muses) (m) The captain, and a serious business type.
5. Vipin Lamin (Namiri Forest) (m) Kind of wry, likes pithy lists.
15. Marlene Jamieson (Keppal Cosmos (f)
19. Luanne Delvale (Arlington City) (f) Drawing comparisons to our first captain from the old team (because of being a Lutheran dork worked up about weird multiverse theories, not for being good at defense).
21. Angela Rose-Dauphine (Spenson Suburbia) (f) (new)
22. Sara Hale-Barnard (Canbix Muses) (f) Draws professional fouls.

Midfielders:
6. Patricia Eliot (Canbix Muses) (f) (1 goal) Draws...unprofessional fouls.
7. Joan Gerland (Spenson Suburbia) (f)
8. Davi Keane-Liuprand (Ephesian FC) (m) (1 goal)
10. Kerry Tammany (Bassabook Old Boys) (m) (2 goals) Very quiet. Can sometimes be coaxed to talk about baseball and little else.
11. Ted Silla-Raty (Twineur Bugs) (m) Widest starter. Switches between central and defensive midfield, and back.
12. Xolani McKiegna (102d Jr.s) (m) (1 goal) Brother-in-law of a top-level sailor. Likes tactics, wants to coach someday.
14. Martina Ruan (FTC United) (f) (2 goals) Relatively proud of Zwangzug's quirks, wants to show them off and not be just another country.
16. Antje Kurzmann-Tremme (Eintracht Trink) (f) (2 goals) Concerned about self-/family-defense now that she's a big time person. Nervy, not in a good way.
17. Rudolf Sternberg (Ephesian FC) (m) (new)
18. Shula Bachchan-Laum (Namiri Independent) (f) Argumentative, although not so much with the ref, just likes to get the last word.

Forwards:
9. Yuuki Nakano (Juvapanam) (m) (4 goals) Calm guy, though won't necessarily hold back against a violent team.
20. Loris Muraro-Ughi (Bassabook Old Boys) (m) (4 goals) Snores and can be picky about music.

The normal starters are 1-11, though this will likely change. The most likely starting formation would be:
...............__________................
...............|Farthing|.................
McFetridge..Chrowder..Novak..Lamin
..............Eliot....Silla-Raty..........
................Keane-Liuprand...........
..........Tammany....Gerland...........
.................Nakano....................

There are two new players; the others debuted in the WC64 qualifiers. The reserve defenders would tend to line up (right to left as they see it, or left to right in this diagram) as Rose-Dauphine, Jamieson, Delvale, Hale-Barnard if they're all playing at once. The midfielders would have Bachchan-Laum or Sternberg in defensive midfield, Kurzmann-Tremme in the center, and Ruan and McKiegna as attacking midfielders. Expect plenty of variation, particularly up front--we wouldn't want to risk inflating the lone striker's goal tallies, though then again we're not expecting to have much in the way of goal tallies, period. Zwangzug play a defensive style, as noted, and while they'll obviously be weak overall they're particularly unskilled on headers. Some players might chance a professional foul, but they're really not a violent team.

More than you ever wanted to know about Zwangzug can be found in our factbook, a pastiche of in-jokes, allusions, moments of pride, retconned "what was I thinking?!" moments, and much more from the last, er, six-plus years. Unless you wanted to know things like "why are there so many -ed names" (egalitarian parents, not being posh) or "what about the Mc" (it's a common morpheme among our Bigtopian community, who knows why). Well, if you have more questions, you can ask.

In particular, a summary of the original national team's history (fl. WC33-42) is available. I should really get to wikifying biographical pages for some of the more colorful bygone players. Poke me about that.

Colors: White with black stripes. Or black with white stripes. We go for the basics.

Home games: mostly going to be played at a refurbished Wayr Stadium (in the Rackham Range of mountains), but we might add some elsewhere--watch this space for details.

If RPing first, please feel free to name goalscorers, injure, and distribute cards to my players at will! You can also godmod events, though I'd appreciate advance warning if you want to take narrative liberties that I couldn't just as easily do to your team (due to being, e.g., an MT, all-human country). Put another way, metaphorical "godmodding" is welcome if clever, but I'd avoid the literal sense.

If you'd like to collaborate on a storyline, drop me a telegram! Always up for new ideas.

Football Commission of Aels

The Football Commission of Aels selection board, comprised of manager Sergyei Arefev, assistant manager Cameron Walsh and FCA chief of player relations Iwan Tudur, is pleased to name a 23-man squad for the World Cup 65 qualifying tournament. The selection team are happy to announce that the 23 men who won the Baptism of Fire tournament have all been selected for the WC qualifying side, with the one notable change being Gethin Evans dropping to the substitute bench in place of Marc Powell following a poor BoF campaign.

New coach Arefev formerly managed the Mytannion national team, taking them to three World Cup Finals tournaments and reaching the second round in World Cup 62. He is assisted by Cameron Walsh, five-time Premier League (and one Cygnus Cup)-winning manager with Pentref-ar-y-Bae, while Cian Evans of defending league champions CCPD Penfro is also on the coaching team. The medical staff is led by Matthew Edwards-Parry, chief physio at Doverston.

The selectors have named five internationally-based players in their starting 11, including Elwyn Richard of Iturributa United, likely playing in his only World Cup cycle for Aels due to his increasing age, who has been named captain. The other three are Rhodri Evans, who plays for Spartangrad in Eura, his former teammate Bryn Thomas of Farrenton Athletic, and the Polarian-based Aled Jones (SK Aasiaat Harbour) and Ciarán O'Connor (Jan Mayen Islanders). A notable omission from the side is Aelsh-born Charmunnry captain Alun Jenkins, 33, who has opted to continue his international career with Ancharmunn.

Players with numbers 1–11 are most likely to start each match (though due to injury or suspension, they may not). The team's kits (below) are made by Audioslavian manufacturers Kirola. The 23-man squad, playing in a 4-1-3-2 formation (style mod +2), is as follows:

#1 James McConnell
Age: 26
Club: Drayfill Town (last season: 2nd)
Former clubs: Penfro Irish
Honours: Football League Premier runners-up (Drayfill Town 1100/01), Baptism of Fire winners (Aels BoF52)

Defenders
#2 Russell Jones
Age: 26
Position: Left back
Club: Drayfill Town (2nd)
Honours: Football League Premier champions (Drayfill Town 1098/99), Football League Premier runners-up (Drayfill Town 1100/01), Baptism of Fire winners (Aels BoF52)

#3 Owen Griffiths
Age: 19
Position: Right back, centre half
Club: Pentref-ar-y-Bae (4th)
Honours: Baptism of Fire winners (Aels BoF52)

#4 Iwan Maddox
Age: 30
Position: Centre half
Club: Pentref-ar-y-Bae (4th)
Honours: Football Second League champions (Pentref-ar-y-Bae 1089/90) Football League Premier runners-up (Pentref-ar-y-Bae 1090/91, 1099/00), Football League Premier champions (Pentref-ar-y-Bae 1091/92, 1092/93, 1093/94, 1094/95, 1095/96), FCA Trophy winners (Pentref-ar-y-Bae 1096/97), Cygnus Cup winners (Pentref-ar-y-Bae CYG19), Baptism of Fire winners (Aels BoF52)
Biography: Named captain of the Aelsh Representative XI under Cameron Walsh at the fourth Cuppet tournament, Maddox is Aels' very definition of a one-club man. He came through the youth ranks at Pentref-ar-y-Bae and made his first-team debut at the age of 18 in the 1088/89 season, when Pentref finished fifth in the then-eight-team Second League. Named club captain at the age of 19, he then guided Pentref to their second Second League title in three seasons in 1089/90 and also scored a goal in the 4–1 promotion playoff thrashing of Doverston to seal promotion. He and the club have never looked back as they went on to form Aelsh football's biggest dynasty, winning five straight league titles in the 90s. He is a close confidant and friend of Walsh, who has managed him since the season he was made captain.

#5 Stephen Andrews
Age: 27
Position: Centre half
Club: Pontyport Athletic (5th)
Former clubs: Plaidstone
Honours: FCA Trophy runners-up (Plaidstone 1096/97), Baptism of Fire winners (Aels BoF52)

Defensive midfielder
#6 Ciarán O'Connor
Age: 25
Position: Anchorman, centre midfield
Club: Jan Mayen Islanders (Polar Islandstates)
Former clubs: CCPD Penfro
Honours: Football League Premier champions (CCPD Penfro 1096/97, 1100/01), FCA Trophy winners (CCPD Penfro 1097/98), Football League Premier runners-up (CCPD Penfro 1097/98), Baptism of Fire winners (Aels BoF52)
Biography: O'Connor, the son of Charmunnry parents, could have played for Ancharmunn. Brought up in Penfro, Aels' largest southern city which has a large Charmunnry population, O'Connor played both Gaelic sports and football, but chose the latter when he was spotted at 16 by CCPD Penfro scouts. His performances for the club even saw him called up to the Ancharmunn national team for a Copa Rushmori in the days when Aelsh players played for the Charmunnry team – although he would have qualified through his parents anyway. However, he was not selected for a single match, and faded back into club football until Cameron Walsh handed him a Cuppet call-up for the Aelsh Representative Team. A decent run of form meant that when Sergyei Arefev took over as Aels' first national manager, a call-up to the full side was inevitable. After winning the most recent Football League Premier title with Penfro, Polarian giants Jan Mayen came calling – and there would be no turning them down.

Midfielders
#7 Rhodri Evans (vice-captain)
Age: 28
Position: Centre midfield
Club: Spartangrad (Eura)
Former clubs: Farrenton Athletic (Eura), Doverston
Honours: Football Second League champions (Doverston 1091/92), Baptism of Fire winners (Aels BoF52)
Biography: Rhodri Evans was a talented youngster who helped Doverston to the Second League title in his debut season before he was snapped up, aged just 19, a year later by Eura's Farrenton Athletic, at the same time Pentref-ar-y-Bae inside forward Bryn Thomas. The two had played together on Aels' Di Bradini Cup team and shared seven seasons at Farrenton, but their careers went in slightly different directions. Thomas struggled to get much press back home, despite scoring at least 15 goals every season for Farrenton, while Evans' quality has been noticed by Euran giants Spartangrad. At the age of 27 he made the move, for eight million Euran pounds, and came third in the league's Midfielder of the Season award. However, at Evans' insistence, Thomas has been given his chance for Aels too.

#8 Aled Jones
Age: 25
Position: Centre midfield, centre attacking midfield
Club: SK Aasiaat Harbour (Polar Islandstates)
Former clubs: Imeall an Uisce
Honours: FCA Trophy runners-up (Imeall an Uisce 1094/95, 1097/98), FCA Trophy winners (Imeall an Uisce 1098/99), Baptism of Fire winners (Aels BoF52)
Biography: Jones is another up-and-coming Aelshman who's made the move abroad to bigger and better things. Having been relegated to the Second League with Imeall an Uisce, he stuck with the team with whom he went to three finals at the Free Stone Stadium – but much like compatriot O'Connor, when overseas interest was made known, he could not resist and his club chose not to stand in his way.

#9 Marc Powell
Age: 23
Position: Center midfield, right midfield
Club: Dovershore County
Honours: Baptism of Fire winners (Aels BoF52)

Forwards
#10 Bryn Thomas
Age: 29
Position: Inside forward
Club: Farrenton Athletic (Eura)
Former clubs: Pentref-ar-y-Bae
Honours: Football League Premier champions (Pentref-ar-y-Bae 1091/92, 1092/93), Baptism of Fire winners (Aels BoF52)
Biography: Bryn Thomas may not be a well-known name in Aels these days, but for anyone who can remember a decade ago he was 'the next big thing' for Pentref-ar-y-Bae, top-scoring in their title-winning seasons in 1092 and 1093 before Farrenton Athletic snapped him up away to Eura. He's been heard from very little since, despite slotting home at least 15 goals every season he's played in Eura, but has finally gotten his chance thanks to his old friend Rhodri Evans.

#11 Elwyn Richard (captain)
Age: 34
Position: Complete forward
Club: Iturributa United (Iturributa)
Former clubs: Imeall an Uisce
Honours: Iturributan Premier Division champions (Iturributa United 647, 650, 652, 654), President's Cup runners-up (Iturributa United 647, 651, 654), Iturributan Premier Division runners-up (Iturributa United 648, 649, 651, 653, 655), President's Cup winners (Iturributa United 653), Copa de Campeones (Iturributa United CdC16, CdC18), two Emperors' Cups (Iturributa United), Baptism of Fire winners (Aels BoF52)
Personal honours: FIF Young Player of the Season (647), FIF Team of the Season (648, 649, 650, 651, 654), FIF Top Scorer (649, 650, 651, 654), FIF Player of the Season (650, 654)
Biography: What else needs to be said? Aels' biggest football export, and still banging in the goals at his age for Iturributa United. Previously capped by Ancharmunn, and has played in four World Cup cycles (59, 60, 62, 64) as well as five Copa Rushmoris (IX, X, XI, XII, XIII). Top-scorer for Aels at the Baptism of Fire tournament.

Substitutes
#12 Dai Rees, 22, goalkeeper (Doverston)
#13 Ceri Jones, 25, goalkeeper (Dovershore County)
#14 Ian Thomas, 24, left back (Hilshore County)
#15 Owain Howells, 28, centre half (Doverston)
#16 Hugh-James Edwards, 19, right back (Dinas Drefhil)
#17 Geraint Owen, 28, defensive midfielder/anchorman (CCPD Brifddinas)

All ages are for the start of the WC Finals Group Stage

The Ministry of Morale is pleased to announce the following roster for World Cup Sixty-Five:
Formation: 7-2-1
Style: -5
Coaches: Étienne Girardeaux, age 36, manager; Fred Nguyen, age 47, player/assistant manager; Ralph Jones, age 36, goaltenders' coach

Manager and longtime midfielder André Vaillancourt-Bosquet abruptly resigned two matches in to the second half of qualfying, with the Paladins mired in 4th place in their group. His assistant Eliseo Crusellas, of Aguazul, was forced to follow him out the door, despite wanting to remain as interim manager. The only coach willing to take on the job was Étienne Girardeaux, a street pharmacologist turned chemistry professor, and the volunteer manager of the (highly successful, by the standards of amateur weekends-only NMS college football) Université St-Ambroise in Philemon. He believes himself to be the reincarnation of legendary Rejistanian coach Siki Re, who headed up the Orange-Blues during their WC23 title run. After defeating Northern Sunrise Islands with a full-blown Karelan 8-1-1 formation, he's eased back - slightly - to a 7-2-1. And he's somehow not only coaxed the Paladins into a trip to Saugeais, but somehow moved them two spots up the rankings in the process.

KEEPERS

14 Pierre Desrosiers, age 26, City of New Montreal
16 Edward Barnwell, age 27, Unité Chateauguay
4 André Cupré-Dutour, age 25, Beaumont Barons

Girardeaux hasn't changed any of the keepers on his side, despite radically altering the rest of his side. Either he's seeking continuity, or he's already got enough on his plate. Either way, Desrosiers no doubt appreciates the extra help he's getting from the reinforced back line.

DEFENSE

41 Rémi Thibault, LWB, age 25, St. James Seagulls, 0 goals
11 Armand Potvin, LCB, age 23, NM Patriotes, 0 goals
9 Gaston St. John de la Ware, CB, age 28, Sorel Black Dragons, 0 goals
8 Henri-Réné Lavaillère, CB, age 33, Strike FC (Vilita), 0 goals
21 Luc Longevin, RCB, age 25, Sorel Black Dragons, 0 goals
5 Mathieu Thion-Bartel, RWB, age 28, Unité Chateauguay, 0 goals
2 Séraphin Boucher, Sweeper, age 26, Alliance Sportif Ville-Marie, 0 goals
50 Ralph Wilcox, CB, age 22, Pride of Wolfe Harbor, 0 goals
17 Étienne Lajoie, WB, age 27, CF Angiers, 0 goals
24 Bob Jersey, CB, age 23, City of New Montreal, 0 goals
00 Gilbert Lestade, CB, age 31, Dorion Poules, 0 goals
8 Thomas Langlier, WB, age 25, CF Valdemont, 0 goals

"The scheme is willing, but the talent pool is weak" - although Girardeaux is starting seven defenders, two of them (Boucher and Potvin) are converted midfielders, and he's only managed to find five competent subs. Still, he coaxed the Paladins from fourth place into the finals, and the back seven only coughed up a single goal during the process.

MIDFIELD

13 John Powell Hughes, CMF, age 27, Unité Chateauguay, 5 goals
99 Fred Nyguen, CMF, age 33, CF Valdemont, 32 goals
12 Alain Dimanche-Johnson, age 26, CMF, Mutual of Bloomington, 0 goals
6 Phillippe Delafrénière, age 20, CMF/DMF, CF Laval, 0 goal
24 Gary Cartwright, LMF/RMF, age 24, New Antioch Saints, 0 goals
36 Lando Mulholland, age 22, AMF, St-Catherine, 0 goals

It's just like the old NMS midfield - only there are four fewer starters. John Powell Hughes and side captain Fred Nguyen provide continuity from the traditional, midfield-heavy NMS system. They also provide the deep passes to Amelio Quagliata, Jr., that feed the counterattacks that give the Paladins three points instead of one. The unusually deep bench behind two starters is designed to get good PK shooters on the pitch if things come to that point during the World Cup Finals.

STRIKERS

15 Amelio Quagliata, Jr., AMF, age 27, City of New Montreal, 11 goals
00 John Randle-Cunningham, CF, age 25, Alliance Sportif Ville-Marie, 8 goals

Quagliata is an offensive sparkplug for the Paladins, and he can play defense on a level that Randle-Cunningham has never had to bother with. That said, if a match looks like it will be going to penalties, Randle-Cunningham will be the first man off the bench for the 'States in injury time - either to get a game-winner in the 6-2-2 during extra time, or to be the first man in the box for a penalty shootout.

I hereby give my opponents permission to do anything that strikes their fancy, short of causing death or permanent paralysis to one of my players.

TEAM CASSADAIGUA- WORLD CUP 65

Coach: Brittany Lawton, 2nd World Cup
Brief Bio: Brittany was the leader of the senior team for the first time in World Cup 64, and previous she was the coach of several Di Bradini Cup sides. It was not an easy task to take on a team returning to the World Cup, and with all of the outside distractions, the fact that Cassadaigua had a chance to advance to the playoff on the final matchday is deemed a success. Her playing days saw her participate in five World Cups (53-57), as a forward. There are some that feel that her #10 should be added to the list of retired numbers, but CASE has been reluctant to retire numbers of post-World Cup 51 players.
