Current Football Season Structure:

KNL1, KNL2, KNL3nse
1. State Championships (week 1 and 2)
2. Apertura (week 3-21)
3. Clausura (week 24-42)
4. Playoffs (week 44-47)

Involving all eight parts of the area
5. Greater Ko-orenite Cup (11 rounds, in weeks 7/8, 10/11, 14/15, 18/19, 25/26, 28/29, 31, 34, 37, 40, 43)
6. International competitions, such as CC, GC, SBCC, Cygnus Cup, AOCL.

Colonies
7. Thaulandi: league (week 44-52)
8. Taloren: league (10-22, 24-40)
9. New Ko-oren: league (4-44, of which 38-44 will only be match days for the New Ko-orenite Top League)
10. Zakhoren: league (6-19, 25-38)
11. Irithoren: league (4-15), finals (17, 18)
12. Arhoren: Derby Cup (between 5 and 9 match days, starting week 4, all with a three week space in between match days)

1. State Championships: each of the 15 states has a single-elimination cup, consisting of between 4 and 32 teams, depending on population and football popularity per state.
2. Apertura: 19 match days, during which every team plays every other team once.
3. Clausura: 19 match days, during which every team plays every other team once, with home and away switched from Apertura schedule.
4. Playoffs: between the leagues, there will be a promotion/relegation playoff, with a maximum of 3 teams relegating from KNL, and a maximum of 6 teams relegating from KNL2. KNL3 has a maximum of 6 teams promoting, with 2 maximum per KNL3 league (North, South and East).

5. All professional football teams in Greater Ko-oren will play a single-elimination cup.
6. CC and GC spots will be eligible for Ko-orenite teams only. They will play a playoff for this. SBCC spots are eligible for KNL2 teams only. Cygnus Cup spot is for the GKC (see 5.) winner. AOCL is for Ko-orenite champion only, with one single playoff needed between the Apertura and Clausura champion. Thaulandi is exempt from this, as they have a separate UICA membership. They may send their own teams to CC, GC and SBCC. Not to Cygnus Cup.

7. Thaulandi has two divisions, the first division with 10 teams and the second division with 8 teams, which will play two matches per week when the other seven leagues have the 'summer stop'.
8. Taloren has one division, with numerous amateur second divisions, which are not part of Greater Ko-orenite football structure.
9. New Ko-oren has two divisions, the first division with 22 teams, and a second division with 18 teams. The NKO First Division is thereby the largest league in GKOR.
10. Zakhoren has one division, with teams playing each other four times per season (instead of the regular two times per season.)
11. Irithoren has a league consising of two parts: first a round robin with every team playing each other team four times. Then a playoff between the top two teams.
12. Arhoren has a derby cup: two teams playing each other in a best-of-5 structure.

The Lava Bearers overpowered the Golden Generals 3-0, winning the Championship for the third time in their history, and preventing the Generals from getting a 3-Championship streak! So far, the Lava Bearers won seasons 1 and 5, having a three and four season drought before a Championship win. They are also the most successful domestic team, with 3 titles. The Silver Admirals, the Golden Generals and the Vintage Cowboys all have 2 titles. The Classy Farmers have 1 title.

Vulpecula win the title again, and their fourth title puts them equal to Lyra! Though the difference between the first two teams seems enourmous, last season's gap was 22 points: 99 points to 77. With the same amount of games played, it is the mid-table teams that all gained an extra victory, and while last season's #10 had 15 points, this time it has 27. Still some way behind, but the points are almost doubled. This year's qualifiers are Vulpecula (last season: 1), Cassiopeia (4), Lyra (2) and Phoenix (7). Especially the last team has made incredible progress, though it is not the first time they end with the first four. Phoenix does it every once in a while, but end up in the lower half of the table just as much. Aquila is the only team that did not defend their Seasogs qualifier, and they finished 6th behind Cygnus and Phoenix (that have the same number of points!)

It is certainly a trend that the top teams are far apart, but there is always a fight for the fourth spot:

All this while the top team has at least over 70 points (over 80 in more recent seasons), the runner-up is between 5 and 25 points behind, and the third placed team is somewhere in limbo between the second and fourth team.

With all six other leagues in Greater Ko-oren over, it's time for the TNL to start. Again draining some of the better and money-loving players of mainly the KNL, the 18 teams of Thaulandi will play twice a week during the two summer months (meaning it is above 0 degrees Celsius) for the national title.

ASUN prolongs their title, being the first team since KNU to do so in seasons 3 and 4. HCU has never had a finish this low, and their reputation of overall best team will definitely suffer from a blow. Ningabasa covered for them to at least have an eastern team in the top 4. The sport is nowhere as popular as in the east, so they will surely ask themselves how they can improve for next season. Segonana also has never finished in the top four before, so we can say that this season is one full of upsets. Let's hope for HCU and KNU that they can pull themselves together for next season, and maybe ASUN is already the best team of Ko-oren?

It has been a while since the last season, and the league is suffering from the popularity of field hockey. The 16 teams are still standing strong and they are playing on, and the arenas are as full as ever, so no problems for finances, really. Still, the summaries of the games on television have been pushed to a random weekday, and the lower teams are starting to feel that in the tv income. In this weird season that will not have teams go to the CHL, Othushun takes the title. Interestingly, they have never done so before, so the title will go largely unnoticed across the border. At least the other teams should be happy for them, especially because they cut off the streak by the Ko-oren Capitals, who have been champions for four straight seasons before this one. They gave up on the title on the last day, when Othushun won 2-0 at Iliju (4th), and the Capitals lost 0-1 against Maethoru (3rd). The team from Koryo feel outside of the top 4, so the top half of the table has seen some teams shifting around. Teams around the bottom also finished more or less close to each other, so all in all, this season has been one that was all about parity.

Though the international competition halted, the league did not lose any of its popularity domestically. Actually, the sport is one of the four biggest in Ko-oren! The teams lost some of the bigger players of last season, and it shows that some of these teams relied completely on them. The Astronauts, champions of two seasons ago, finished 19th. The Explosions, champions of two seasons ago, finished dead last, even! Rabth State Loa, one of the worse teams of the league until this year, profited heavily from the situation and actually seized the title!

As always, the White Diamonds do exceptionally well in the playoffs. This is their fourth season victory, while they only were regular season champions once. The Tazers have been regular season champions three times now, and they only managed to win the playoffs once. Is this the new rivalry? Meanwhile, the Blues are amazing overall, with 3 regular season titles and 2 playoff titles.

Vulpecula did it again! They are now on three consecutive championships, and they are now on a combined total of 5 titles. With that, Lyra is the official second historic team of the league, with 4! Lyra and Vulpecula share 9 out of 10 titles, and they are still as good as they were when the league started. They are first and second again! Cassiopeia is probably the only other team that did consistently well. Aquila, Cygnus and Phoenix have had several seasons of being down in the lowest half of the table, and once-champions Monoceros (the only other team to ever win a title) finished 9th this season, while they do relatively well normally.

National Leagues
Same procedure as last season: 108 match conference (12 rounds), then the teams ranked 10th through 5th play the team with the same ranking in the other conference. The top 4 of each conference qualifies for the playoffs, with 1v4 and 2v3. The 4 in the semifinals qualify for the next BCCC.
