The ranks of the Vegan professional football clubs have seen numerous changes over the years. The original VFL boasted of just 16 clubs, but that was 150 years ago when football was just a sideshow in the newly formed Draggonnii Socialist Empire. An expansion 98 years ago saw the VFL grow to 32 clubs that would challenge each other for domestic supremacy until 24 years ago when the VFL added 16 clubs and divided its ranks into three tiers, with the most dominant at the top and weaker clubs nearer the bottom.

That format would not last long, just 12 years in fact, as the VFL combined ranks with the Sylvanae League of the Sylvanaes Queendom in perhaps the biggest blunder in its history. The newly formed SVLF boasted a mighty 64 clubs in four tiers. It seemed to be a great move in theory. However, the ruling body of the now defunct combined league vastly underestimated the feelings of apathy, and sometimes outright hatred, the Vegan peoples held for those of the Elven race. Refusing to give in to the demands of the public, the SVLF continued to churn along for the past 18 years. But public opinion finally had its way and the SVLF was dissolved and the Elven clubs sent packing.

That brings us to the third edition of Vegan professional football, the VAFK, which begins now as the former 48 Vegan clubs welcome in 6 new clubs formed after the recent uprising in Zirakul was brought to an end and the expansion into territory formerly controlled by Maraque was completed. Also returning is the 3 tier format with 18 clubs comprising each tier. The season will consist of 70 matches including home/away matches with clubs in one’s own tier and one match against clubs from other tiers alternating home and away by season. This system will begin use next season. This is due to the governing body of the VAFK having decided that all clubs should start off on equal footing. Therefore all 54 clubs will play each other once on neutral ground during this restructuring season. The top 18 clubs on points will comprise the new Yumbo Jumbo Championship Division, the middle 18 comprising the Irijii Compar Primary Division, and the bottom three filling the Unse’keis Secondary Division.

So now we are pleased to announce a new beginning in ASMV football.

Errion Vega FK - Traditionally the Ghost Cats have been the most dominant club in ASMV history. Errion Vega FK have collected a massive 78 League Championships. But let’s keep that in perspective, only 8 of those have come in the last 22 seasons.


Stonengarten UH - With the departure of the Sylvanae squads, The Red Hammers stand nearly alone as a threat to Errion Vega FK’s domination. Collecting 4 Championships in the past 15 seasons leave themas the only club in the modern era to best the Ghost Cats.


Vegan 4th Quad - The new kids on the block, the Chargers are living up to their name of charging towards the to of the rankings.

The newly formed VAFK has now come to take shape with the completion of the restructuring season. The big three clubs which have dominated domestically for some time have quickly proved their dominance once again but after that, we have some unexpected results.

New club Loire-Mourenx finished in the top eight and will play in the Championship Division in their first actual domestic season.

Et'ai Zirakulii also finished in the top 18 and will compete in the top division. This despite the fact that they have no actual stadium to play in.

FK Kelsey fell into the second division despite promises of becoming a true contender.

Triarii Rivii finished 34th on the table to find themselves in the second division and a new chance to break their cellar-dweller image.

Tapia Reis, Sarii Carrington, Carrington FK, Sarii Alariz, Meldinburgh FK, and other traditionally solid clubs will all compete in the third division and will have a long way to go in returning to their former glory.
