V-League: Tropical Trophy
(Note: The Tropical Trophy is a seasonal competition between the Vilitan Stellar Division Champions and Vilitan Cup Champions. There has been some controversy as to whether it is a "Season Ending" event or a "Season beginning" event, though it has tended to be closer to the start of the new season, then the end of the previous one.

Traditionally, the Tropical Trophy is contested between the V-League Stellar Division Champions and the Vilitan Cup Champions. However, in cases where the same team wins both titles, the V-League Stellar Division Runners-Up take the second slot.

Turorian referee Tuaoko Vumaou was called upon to officiate the match for the fourth consecutive season.

Jungle Strike FC didn't waste any time putting the pressure on with an early sequence that saw Yves Gadois play Friekder Dandaellion free in the box. While turning to place a shot on goal, Danias grabbed Dandaelleion's shirt impeding the players progress and preventing the shot from being taken. Initially, referee Vumaou did not whistle for a foul but the linesman spotted it and got the attention quickly of Vumaou. After a consultation, a penalty was awarded to the Vilitan side.

It was Dandaelleion to take the kick himself and he made no mistake getting the ball past Jawz Tiiaupila to put the Venom up by a 1-0 scoreling just 2 minutes into the match.

Mliona-Lpaka quickly responded, however, not seeming quite ready to conclude their reign as Tropical Trophy champions. It was the never-aging Eric Tyler, formerly of Krytenia, who equalized and set the tone for what would become a very tight and tense matchup.

Strikes Miiara Makose nearly got sent off on the half hour mark after a nasty foul on Kentiak but escaped with a yellow card and a strong talking to from Vumaou. Both sides had their fair share of chances as the first half came to a close but Tiiaupila most certainly had more to do with most of Strike's chances forcing the Vilitan keeper to make a save while Audioslavia's World-Cup Champion Kajaxo Imaslavii had little to do but look up into the sky to see the efforts of Mliona-Lpaka sailing well over the goal.

................................................

The second half started with a free kick to Strike and a yellow card to Farfadillis player Ichi Tuzzio, squaring off against his countrymate Dandalleion for the first time with Mliona-Lpaka. The free kick was placed way over the goal, however, and the remainder of the second half would lose a bit of a lustre that the pair of goals in the opening 10 minutes seemed to have promised.

Regular time came and went with extra time required for the 8th time in the history of the competition. For just the 5th time ever, however, 120 minutes was also not enough. Audioslavia's Kajaxo Imaslavii, representing Strike FC, lined up alongside Tiiaupila for Mliona-Lpaka. It would be the Tuorian's to shoot first with Manolis Kontalroma stepping up against the World Champion.

Imaslavii emphatically stopped Kontalroma's effort in its tracks giving all the momentum to the Venom until Gadois blasted his effort over the bar to keep the tallies level. The Farf duo were up next and both Tuzzio and Dandalleion converted for their respective teams, followed by 4 more from each side with Brodie, Lavaillere, Lawaai and Lejsrma all converting for Strike. Danias stepped up for Mliona-Lpaka in the 7th round and blazed wildly over the net leaving Relamr Winauat with the ball at his feet and the Tropical Trophy in his sights.

The Vilita made no mistake as Strike FC celebration victory in the Tropical Trophy for both Club and Country. Friekder Dandalleion of Strike FC was given the Tropical Trophy MVP honors.

Statwise:
:: This is Strike's 12th Tropical Trophy Victory in their 21st appearance, leading all clubs.
:: This is the 1st Tropical Trophy Victory defeat for Mliona-Lpaka
:: This is the 8th Tropical Trophy to require Extra Time
:: This is the 5th Tropical Trophy to be decided on Penalty Kicks
:: This ends a streak of 6 consecutive Tropical Trophies with a unique champion, resetting the streak to just 3 consecutive winners.
:: Eric Tyler became the oldest player to compete in the Tropical Trophy since Tristain Verelst played for Makosile during Season 24, and the oldest player to compete in the Tropical Trophy during the Modern Era*

* The modern Era is defined as all seasons from Season 26 on. Seasons 1-25 are the 'classic era'.

Tropical Trophy Host Site:

Tivali Ring Stadium - Alikki-Corra, Vilita (87,000 Capacity)
The Football Association of Vilita is based at the Tivali-Ring Stadium in the capital city of Alikki-Corra, Vilita and many National Team training sessions take place on the grounds of the Tivali Ring. The Football Association regularly schedule matches at arenas throughout Vilita, especially bigger matches as many of the stadiums that host Stellar Division and UICA competition matches have expanded far beyond the capacity of the National Stadium at Tivali Ring, which is used only for the National Team, and, for the Vilitan Cup Final and Tropical Trophy matchup. In addition to its World Cup matches, 'The Ring' hosted the 40th UICA Series 'B' Champions Cup Final. The stadium was constructed as part of the Vilitan bid to host the World Cup 14 Cup of Harmony as a replacement to the former National Stadium in Lopinka that was destroyed during a regional conflict.

Taeshan All-Stars 4–1 United Gordonopia All-Stars

-Scorinated by Saugeais

Alas, it seems that Soren Halifax will have to relinquish the smiling bendy man action figure after all.

In what can only be called a romp, the Taeshan All-Stars walloped their counterparts from United Gordonopia at home. Said Halifax, "Perhaps it was the jet lag. Yeah, I bet that was it."

For the first few minutes of the match, things looked relatively even between both sides. Most of the beginning consisted of back and forth, with neither side gaining too much momentum. Some shakiness, likely a result of the two teams never having played before, was evident with some missed passes, but as a whole, it was either side's game.

Then François Rosseau changed everything. At first, the pass from Joshua Hagerty seemed relatively harmless; Rosseau had two defenders and a keeper between him and the net. The Saugeais striker, though, would have none of that nonsense, and immediately began a drive for the net. After shaking Jeremiah Longwaters and outrunning Fritz Cole, It was only Jay Neuman and Rosseau. Despite all of Neuman's talent, there was nothing the Golden Glove keeper could do as Rosseau knocked a rocket into the upper left corner of the net.

After that, it was all downhill for the Gordononopia Premier League side. A penalty kick by Ryan Salisbury doubled Taeshan's lead, and in the 57th minute they added another goal from United Gordonopian international John Bates, who plays for the New Capetown Falcons.

A late effort to get back in the game resulted in a somewhat lucky long strike from Jonathon Turner, bringing Gordonopia's boys to within two, but in the 81st minute, all hope was shut down when Rosseau headed a second ball into the net off of a corner.

Dejected, Halifax, the commissioner of the Gordonopia Premier League, was forced to return the cheap rubber toy trophy to his Taeshani counterpart, a gloating Hugo Whitaker. Perhaps he will win it back next year.
If you ever have an RPing question, please TG me about it.

**First Season in Stellar Division

Jungle Strike FC set their sights back on the Yeaddin Owls after winning their 12th Stellar Division title during Season 36 drawing level with the Owls in the all-time titles category. Strike, with their Season 36 title and Runner-Up performance in the UICA Champions Cup, have proven to be the most consistently successful team in the history of the Vilitan league despite being level on Stellar Division Titles and 2 International Domestic Championships shy of the Owls' storied past.

Mliona-Lpaka, however, was still looking to break through to become the second Turorian side to win Vilita's premier division and held steady with the Venom in a penalty kick defeat during the Tropical Trophy.

The season would be a first in the modern era without Arcticala Inlet contesting for the title. The Electricians, Runners up in Season 33 and Champions as recently as Season 29, became just the 2nd Stellar Division side (Marine Coast United) to suffer relegation from the top flight at any point after winning the title for the first time.

OPENING DAY SUMMARY:
The biggest match on Opening day took place at the Turoki Community Complex where the Tide squared off against Mliona-Lpaka in what was likely to be an important title-implicating result. In the end, however, the match did not live up to the billing ending in the opening matchdays only draw, with no goals being scored. Strike, Colonial Sile, Kiiarana, Turoki United, Cednia Beach and Morata Valley all recorded narrow wins on opening day to get a head start on the campaign.

THROUGH MATCHDAY 6:
The list of perfect sides was down to just 3 after the second matchday and none more noticeable than Strike FC who rode a 2-0 victory over the Turoki Tide, goals from Viji-Mara Lawaai and Friekder Dandaellion, into the pole position for a repeat title triumph. Colonial Sile and Kiiarana City were also victorious on both matchdays 2 and 3 to stay level with the Venom who's Matchday 3 victory over Mliona-Lpaka FC had some britty pundits giving them the Stellar Division title already having overcome their main rivals in the first three matchdays.

The separation came on Matchday 4 as Kiiarana City were held by Turoki United and Colonial Sile dropped a 3-1 result to Mliona-Lpaka. Viji-Mara Lawaai, Coll Brodie and Friekder Dandaellion scored for Strike FC their own 3-1 victory over Makosile to give the defending champions sole possession of the top spot.

Strike were finally held on Matchday 5 by the Kionao Locals and it seemed the Island Emirate of Turori would end up being their achilles heel as they were handed their first defeat of the season on Matchday 6 at the Cednia Beach Center. The result left the battle at Colonial Field as a battle for the top spot with a pair of Lucas Andrada goals propelling Colonial over Kiiarana City and into the top spot.

THROUGH MATCHDAY 10:
Strike FC added to Marine Coast United's misery on Matchday 7. The former champions found thesmelves at the bottom of the table with no wins and the defeat to Strike FC only rubbed it in as Marine Coast not only gifted Strike the victory with an early own goal, but also missed the Penalty Kick that could have saved a point later in the match.

All things were clicking in Sile, meanwhile, where Colonial was dishing out result after embarassing result on the opposition. a 3-0 thrashing of Morata Valley was followed up with a 5-0 obliteration of relegation threatened Eastal Lunar, goals from Merlin Salomon, Lucas Andrada and Tujama Treola. However, with the easier sides behind them, it set up a critical stretch run where they would face The Tide, Strike and rivals Makosile in succession.

Strike drew level after winning their local derby 2-1 over Lonngeylin Coast when Colonial were held to a goalless draw with the Turoki Tide. This set up a sold-out thriller at Colonial Field on matchday 9 as the joint-leaders of the Stellar Division clashed on the same pitch to position themselves to grab the mid-season advantage. The home side shone through 2-0 giving fans in Sile hope that this could be the year they finally bring home the title, but were equally wary of past meltdowns in the second half of the season.

THROUGH MID-SEASON:
Colonial Sile survived their derby with Makosile with a slim 1-0 victory but barely come out with the mid-season lead after a defeat to Cednia Beach AFC allowed Strike to pull level on points. Just 2 goals difference, both in superior goals scored, separated Colonial who had their earlier blowouts of Morata Valley and Eastal Lunar to thank for their place atop the table.

However, the duo sat just 3 points clear of Mliona-Lpaka who were ready to pounce, also looking for their first Stellar Division title. The Turoki Tide were a further 6 points back, leading the race for the UICA Champions Cup places.
A competitive Stellar Division saw just 7 points separating the 5th position and UICA Champions Cup qualification, with the 13th position, and relegation. Marine Coast United, meanwhile, were on the outside looking in, 8 points from safety and still looking for their first win of the season.

Colonials Lucas Andrada was topping the goalscoring charts but much of the credit was being given to teammate Pedro Uguccione. The experienced Ossidiacqua defender was receiving praise from all angles for his performances keeping Colonial on top with many Star of the Match performances.

MID-SEASON TABLES & TRANSFERS:
Turorian goalkeeper Ronji Miiastara returned to Kiiarana City after spending the first half of the season searching for the right fit and a new club. Kiiarana were not pleased with their low table position and looked into their past to also bring back Astara Daiili from Declasse high-flyers Arcticala Inlet, and to their future in snapping up young Strike FC prospect Lopaki Kilpter.

Meanwhile, Wightling oddball Piran McKenzie made the shift from peak to Valley - but upwards in the table with Morata Valley.

**First Season in Vilitan League

OPENING DAY SUMMARY:
Arcticala Inlet had a point to prove and the Lopinka Rovers were the unfortunate recipients of the statement 3-0 victory that the Electricians were using to prove they were out of place in the second level of Vilitan sport. Turoki Isle and Mavaloiao, also looking for a campaign back to the top flight, also recorded multi-goal victories. Rammsissil and Lonngeylin City, both returning to the league system, both started with defeats.

THROUGH MATCHDAY 8:
The shine had started to wear off on Arcticala Inlet's hot start with surprise defeats to two of the worst teams in the Declasse, Rammsissil and Akisa Surta. However, they still held a 4 point advantage over main rivals Kiiara-Torra who had the added help of former Strike FC goalkeeper Nycflala Kater for the first half of the season.

Turorian side FC Almintora, meanwhile, was struggling across the board with no wins and just one goal scored, propping up the table.

THROUGH MID-SEASON:
After leading the table throughout the first 12 matchdays, Arcticala Inlet travelled to Kiiara Park and could not break down the skill of Nycflala Kater, falling 2-0 to lose the match and the Declasse top spot at the midway point. Both sides, however, were a class above the field and primed for promotion with 3rd place Turoki Isle 5 points back and surprising newcomers Rammsissil sitting 4th.

At the other end of the table, no team was safe with lonngeylin City at the bottom but just 6 points behind mid-table Akisa Surta in 8th.

Unsurprisingly, Arcticala Inlet's Loala Kigoouao led the division in goals with 11 at the halfway point followed closely by teammate Nili Ylimaiina who was sitting on 7.

Vilitan Cup Group Stage:
Pod 1: Turori's Non-League Cup Heroes, Cednia Rovers, did the dirty deed and eliminated perhaps Turori's best hope for Cup Success by shocking Mliona-Lpaka at Cednia Park in a 2-1 result that sent the defending Champions crashing out incredibly at the first stage. While a statement of the competitiveness of the Non-League sides in Turori, it may equally be looked at as an invalidation of Mliona-Lpaka's triumph the season before. Cednia would be joined by Kiiara-Torra who had little problem surpassing Julspora at the Open Fields.
Pod 2: Declasse side Akisa Surta looked completely out of sorts conceding 8 goals and scoring none as Non-League foes Lopinka Locals joined Stellar Division side Turoki United in the knockout stage.
Pod 3: Strike FC extended their perfect-pod record for an incredible 5th straight season taking no blemishes and no goals against on their way to a place in the Round of 16. Non-League side Mavaloiao City put an emphasis back on Vilitan Cup dominace by advancing over Turorian sides FC Almintora and Inura Forests.
Pod 4: Declasse outcasts Arcticala Inlet ousted Stellar Division side Marine Coast United while Non-Leaguers Terrarokka earned a place in the knockout stage with a 1-0 win over Yutzie Sorma at Terrasport Park.
Pod 5: Turorian side Sokattack Mliona fell victim to the Turorian Cup Curse with a 3-1 defeat to Lonngeylin Coast in what could perhaps be considered the weakest of all the pods. Declasse side Lopinka Rovers edged out Lonngeylin United 1-0 to also advance.
Pod 6: The Kionao Locals decided to fly the flag for the Island Emirate ousting Declasse sides Rammsissil and Longgeylin City to advance to the knockout stage along with surprising non-leaguers Jlinal Wanderers.
Pod 7: Laitoia AFC improved upon their already-impressive record of cup success upending a pair of league sides, Eastal Lunar and Turoki Isle, on their way to a place in the knockout round where they would be joined by Jlinal Cove.
Pod 8: Colonial Sile outlasted Turori's Wunokalsa Waridi in one of the most exciting matches of the pod phase. Northern Sunrise Island's Starfox McCloud scored a hattrick for Colonial Sile in a 5-3 victory to send Colonial through to the next round while non-leaguers Crosaibi City advanced as well over Inland Peaks.
Pod 9: Cednia Beach AFC and Crosaibi Locals did all they had to do in Pod 9, and very little more, to advance to the knockout phase over Morata Valley and Tivali City.
Pod 10: Stellar Division sides Turoki Tide and Makosile left Mavaloiao and Alikki Locals no shot at advancing in arguably the toughest group for any upsets to occur. Declasse side Mavaloiao was ripped for 8 goals and the non-Leaguers Alikki Locals came closer, but still could not overcome the class of the top sides.
Pod 11: Kiiarana City and the Yeaddin Owls followed the plan in the final pod overcoming Nusira Lionta and non-league side Crosaibi United.

Vilitan Cup Round 2:
7 Non-League sides made it to Round 2 and six of them were drawn against each other ensuring at least 3 would advance to the Round of 16.

However, it would be four advancing as non-leaguers Terrarokka United outlasted Jlinal Cove FC on penalty kicks to make the round of 16 for the first time since being shock Semi-Finalists during Season 25.

In a rare Non-League battle of Crosaibi, the Crosaibi Locals recorded a 3-0 victory over Croasibi City to advance. Lopinka Locals and Cednia Rovers also advanced over Mavaloiao City and Jlinal Wanderers respectively.

Declasse side Lopinka Rovers advanced in an upset victory over an improved Yeaddin Owls side but the real attention was at Lonngeylin Coliseum where Strike had to rely on a rare goal from Azestella Ajhabekk to get past fellow Stellar Division powerhouses Makosile.

Vilitan Cup Round of 16:
If the luck of the draw catered to the Non-Leaguers during Round 2, it certainly did not in the Round of 16. 5 non-league representatives were in the pot and all 5 were eliminated by League opposition in the form of the Tuorki Tide, Lonngeylin Coast, Colonial Sile, Turoki United and Kiiarana City.

A pair of Turorian sides, Cednia Beach AFC and Kionao Locals, were looking to fly the flag after Mliona-Lpaka's early elimination and did the job outlasting Lopinka Rovers and Kiiara-Torra.

That left the matchup between Arcticala Inlet and Strike FC where the Electricians were trying to prove they didn't belong in the Declasse and give their fans something to be proud of on the season. It wasn't to be, however, with Strike in a rare change of blinding orange kits, Viliaka Morasita and Viji-Mara Lawaai scored to see the Venom through to the Quarter Finals.

Vilitan Cup Quarter-Finals: (Two Legs)

Turoki Tide v. Strike FC
Colonial Sile v. Kiiarana City
Kionao Locals v. Cednia Beach AFC
Lonngeylin Coast v. Turoki United

NOVA CAMBRIA CREDIT UNION NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE

For the first time in the 12 year history of the Nova Cambrian NFL, a team other than Stephen of August won the championship! The superclub lost its first two fixtures (to Cambridge Hearts and Victoria), and although they had the most points from rounds 3 to 26- they were pipped by Rushholme Ruffians, whose round two win at Mills Town essentially made all the difference. So football fans, scratch their names on your arms with your fountain pens to show you really love the Nova Cambrian champs! It's all a tremulous heart requires.

Rules
The champions of associations entitled to places in the Champions’ Cup group stage qualify for the Champions’ Cup—currently Jasĭyun and Capitalizt SLANI.
The Jasĭyun Ligĭ consists of all Jasĭyun members in Élite League One and Élite League Two. Members relegated from Élite League Two are expelled from the league, and members promoted to Élite League Two are admitted to the league.
The other associations’ leagues relegate a fixed number of teams, unless a lesser number is necessary in order to satisfy the requirements that neither Élite League members nor teams finishing in the top half of the table may be relegated. The association members finishing highest in the main league system are promoted to the association championship, including any team promoted to the Élite League.
The SLANI Superleague and Lontorikanische Oberliga normally relegate and promote three teams.
The Ligue francophone du Paripana and Premier Community Football League normally relegate and promote two teams.

Preview - Part 1 - Part 2 - Part 3 - Part 4 - FAS Cup

Saugeais (SAU) qualifiers
Champions Cup: Bota Guerre
Globe Cup: Pays de Croix, Gilley F.C., Riverside
Series B Champions Cup: Montbenoit, Ville-DuPont, Metalton, Real Gilley

Rushmore Copa de Campeones: Bota Guerre
Cygnus Cup: Gilley F.C.

Saugeais (SAU) Final Site bids
Series B Champions Cup: Arrowpoint Place, Arçon (Cap. 51,000)
Image

Aside from being home to the Arçon football team, Arrowpoint Place is also the main track and field venue for Olympic delegation of Saugeais. Located on the outskirts of the city, this 51,000 capacity venue used to host numerous national college meets and trial days for many aspiring track and field stars before reconfiguration. “The Point” is also a secondary home for the national team. The stadium is located just a couple miles away from the Saugeais National Forest, which covers 10% of the total land area of the nation, and as such lumbering is one of the city’s main source of income.

Copa de Campeones: Stade Amaechi Olsen, Montbenoit (Cap. 68,500)
Image

The Football Association of Saugeais is based out of Stade de Montagne, located smack in the middle of the capital, Montbenoit. The stadium is also home to local Premier League side, Montbenoit F.C., and both have used the 68,500 all seater since its construction before World Cup 53. The stadium has hosted many of the big matches, both domestically (in Premier League and FAS Cup action) and internationally against various big name opponents. The stadium has been expanded numerous times to coincide with the continual growth of the national team, reaching its current capacity right before co-hosting the 47th Cup of Harmony.

The Iturributan Premier Division: Season 654 Preview

The Iturributan Premier Division is back for more, better than ever but still consisting of no more than 10 teams. No matter, as we all know the good stuff is between the top two - will United match Sporting's four titles, or will the Chevrons take a two-season lead on their rivals? Will Freedom FC at long last win the President's Cup? Will Iturributa Racing Club pick itself up after two dysmal years and recover its usual third place on the table? Will Uzio Blackstar continue to surprise? We'll see.

Sporting may have the lead as far as domestic titles go, but United's success in the Copa de Campeones stings - even if the Chevrons are coming off the Globe Cup semifinals, eliminated on away goals by Raynor City United. They've continued with their philosophy of homegrown talent with a vocation for defense, and they are loathe to let it go despite the money it could bring in. Zernin Aira, their timeless captain goalkeeper, may have retired, but almost every player on the squad is or has been part of their respective national team at some point, a team loaded with experience. Eneko Dicharry can take them far, his first few years as a manager already earning him international acclaim.

United are on the back foot, last season's title slipping from their hands and unable to make an impact in UICA play. Their squad is certainly far more cosmopolitan compared to Sporting's conservatism, though they perhaps don't boast the same tactical cohesion. The departure of right winger Zeledon Urralburu to Echegoyan FC is a difficult blow, but Petter Bielsen has sought to remedy it in some way, bringing in Iturributan-born, former Astograthian national team striker Formerio Iturralde. Bred at the club, he left for Krytenia's Casuals Osteria after an acrimonious split and further decided he would play for Olibondeka instead of Iturributa. Neither choice went down well at Old City Stadium, but time heals wounds and both sides are set to reunite in what could be a fantastic partnership.

The Others
ImageImage
Freedom FC
Ground: Lon Biteri Stadium (19,700), Iturributa
Colours: Red and yellow striped shirt, black shorts and socks
Shirt Sponsor: Hultman-Erstad (Polarian banking)
Season 653: 3rd
Notes: Freedom FC may have lost Todor Arreche, one of its star forwards, to the Astograthian First Division, but they are still confident that they'll achieve another solid third-place finish and subsequent Globe Cup qualification. They can be reasonably proud of last edition's group stage, but their current position nonetheless seems fragile - a shock second place or cup win may be just what they need to assume the status of Iturributa's third best team.

ImageImage
Garitzeta Racing Club
Ground: Letatzadur Stadium (21,260), Garitzeta
Colours: Black and orange striped shirt, black shorts and socks
Honours: 1 President's Cups (652)
Shirt Sponsor: ChocoMilk (Citiz dairy products)
Season 653: 4th
Notes: A few years back, Garitzeta Racing struggled to best their cross-town rivals Independent Garitzeta, nevermind Iturributa Racing; these days they can comfortably do both, on top of winning the President's Cup and indulging in such things as playing regular international football. They'd do very well to maintain themselves in their current form, with a very promising young squad.

ImageImage
Iturributa Racing Club
Ground: The Hippodrome (22,160), Iturributa
Colours: Orange shirt with black stripe, orange shorts and socks
Honours: 2 President's Cups (647, 650)
Shirt Sponsor: Badiola (Iturributan automobiles)
Season 653: 5th
Notes: Estebe Bularte's spell at the head of Iturributa Racing has been rough, dropping from third to fifth for two seasons in a row now, repeatedly humiliated by relative minnows. The players aren't bad at all, but something in their play isn't quite clicking; unless Bularte can figure it out he'll have a tough time staying on for another year.

ImageImage
Independent Garitzeta
Ground: Martyrs Arena (43,350), Garitzeta
Colours: White with blue stripe, white shorts, blue socks
Shirt Sponsor: Pratarra (Iturributan alcoholic drinks)
Season 653: 6th
Notes: Independent haven't shown any signs of improving or worsening their position, which in truth seems to suit them just fine - comfortably sixth, safe from relegation but just shy of Globe Cup play. This season they can take advantage of Iturributa Racing's bad moment or, should they hesitate, be themselves taken over by an ever-more-ambitious Uzio Blackstar...

ImageImage
Uzio Blackstar
Ground: Urrunaga (13,500), Uzio
Colours: Yellow and black striped shirt, black shorts and socks
Shirt Sponsor: GaureBet (Astograthian betting)
Season 653: 7th
Notes: The most surprising side in the Premier Division, Uzio Blackstar had been making noise in the second tier for a while before blasting into the top flight and clinging to it against all odds, climbing the table with good football and an ambition that is very fresh in this sometimes stagnant league. They can dream big, though staying clear in relegation would be enough of a victory this season.

ImageImage
Langaraitz Rovers
Ground: The Settling Grounds (24,400), Langaraitz
Colours: Black and light blue striped shirt, black shorts and socks
Last Season Finish: Premier Division B champions
Shirt Sponsor: Iturrikola (Iturributan soft drinks)
Season 653: 8th
Notes: One of the oldest clubs in the region, Rovers have committed themselves to bigger and better things in lieu of their ever-growing local popularity. They have plenty of drive and will be fighting tooth-and-nail with Uzio Blackstar to see who gets farther first - it won't be easy for either side.

ImageImage
Axpuru Castle
Ground: Gaztelakuo (11,600), Axpuru
Colours: All blue kit
Shirt Sponsor: Seasogs (Polarian spirits)
Last Season Finish: 9th
Notes: Axpuru were left staring into the abyss last season, and face very real danger this season considering Andozketa Wanderers are on a roll, as most second tier winners are. They seem set to struggle and it would a huge boost for them to stave off relegation.

ImageImage
Andozketa Wanderers
Ground: Oyandiano Stadium (16,000), Andozketa
Colours: Red and black striped shirt, red shorts and socks
Shirt Sponsor: Neaskor (Astograthian tyres)
Season 653: Premier Division B champions
Notes: Andozketa Wanderers make their return to the Premier Division after many seasons of disappointment and can well aspire to staying put - for this season, at least. It won't be easy at any rate; they have their work cut out for them and Axpuru Castle won't give up easily.

Season 20,049

It was the season for triumph from Vyinta, as Ibini won the Silver Cup while Smaraga and Peravova secured the two automatic promotion spots from the Star League into the Premiership, bringing the total to three Vyintanese sides in the topflight. For all the questions of their ability to compete with the mainland, it seems there have been answers and it will be interesting to see how the sides square off in the topflight next year. Further down in the pyramid, Moria has won another title for back to back promotions in their first two seasons of existence, proving once again that the talent within the Vanorian blood is quite deep. Yet it is the top of the table that everyone frets over, what gets managers fired and players playing for their national sides. And in that regard, United was able to retain their crown, but only just, thanks to their lethal attack and huge goal difference over Hondo. The Owls has an uninspiring season, winning heavily when they did and losing heavily as well, if only they could find a consistency they might have taken the the title over their rivals. In less exciting news, the Navy Cup, also known as the Premiership Cup, was scrapped after complaints of fixture congestion from last season. It is unclear if it will make a return in the future, but inclinations at this point is that that club is gone for good.

Valanora's (VAL) Final Site Bids
Champions Cup 47: Artani (74,000), Mar Sara - Located in the heart of Mar Sara, this modern stadium was built just under three decades ago with the best technology that the world has to offer. It is owned and operated by Mar Sara FC of the Elven Premier League and is routinely used by the VFA for domestic cup Final sites when a Mar Sara side is not in the Final. Artani offers all the best money can buy when it comes to a quality stadium and hopes to welcome all to the bread basket capital of Valanora.

Globe Cup 44: The Battleground (78,000), Raynor City - In the middle of the sprawling capital of Valanora, The Battleground is one of the oldest stadiums in the country. It underwent a major renovation nearly fifty years ago to become the premier and largest stadium in all of Valanora. Rail from all over the capital have stops outside the stadium making it easily accessible to all citizens and visitors to Valanora's capital. It has hosted several domestic and international Finals and is used to the commotion that large scale matches create and can accommodate all with proper security and seating. While not as new as Artani, the renovations made to the stadium have made it the premier stadium of Valanora.

ASPIA ANNOUNCES INAUGURAL FOOTBALL SEASON

Following discussions between regional leaders and Aspian citizens on how to promote local pride, the idea of a national football league was met with great enthusiasm, and thought to be a good way to bring revenue to local economies as well as to encourage people to get involved with sport. The newly and quickly established Aspia FA received many applications from teams to join the national league system. Before this, the only competitive competitions were district cups and district leagues were rarely formed.

The vast majority of Aspia's population live on two islands; Orange Bowl, and Rockpool. These islands are some distance apart, and with the league set to adopt an amateur/semi-pro status, the national league system will consist of a league system on each island, both containing 2 divisions. There was a total of 30 applications: 14 from Orange Bowl, 16 from Rockpool. The Orange Bowl league system will be made of 2 divisions with 7 teams each, and in Rockpool it will be 2 divisions with 8 teams each. In these early stages, teams will play each other twice and the team who finishes top of the pile will win their respective regional titles. Both teams will then play in a two-legged National Championship Play-off. The bottom team from each division will be relegated to Division Two, where the top team from there will be promoted to Division One.

Here are the teams:

DIVISION ONE

AFC Bagmore

DIVISION TWO

AFC Totford

Woodmancott FC

The first season is set to start soon. In other news, Aspia FA have also started on forming the national team who are due to play in the 8th edition of the Friendly Cup. The coach is yet to be announced but trial sessions and training have already taken place, with various club managers volunteering time to help players with their preparation.

The Astograthian Football League: Season 654 Preview
Sponsored by
Image

The Astograthian First Division is back for its 21st season, and boy is this one going to be good! Echegoyan FC made away with the title last season and are being hailed as one of the league's best-ever after their Ides of March win over FC Axel Heiburg – but Urbizania Wanderers, Ituraitz FC, Royal Rumiatzi and the rest won't have any of that! With exciting battles por position all across the table, the First Division is delighted to have restored its media coverage to normal; the world can again enjoy it in full splendour.

Transfers
- Todor Arreche (Iturributa) from Freedom FC (ITB) to Blue Mountain Range
- Vladimir Beschastyn (Chetkosk), formerly of Blue Mountain Range, retired from football
- Victor Brexio (Erathore), formerly of South Factory, retired from football
- Opilano Errotabehere from Ituraitz Victory to Reichsburg FC (United Gordonopia)
- Wilson Prieto (Cafundéu), formerly of Gortz United, retired from football
- Tilford Quirin (Civil Citizenry) released from his contract with Astograth University
- Alexei Razov (Mytannion), formerly of Gortz United, retired from football
- Zuzen Sagarribay from Royal Rumiatzi to Teva FC (United Gordonopia)
- Zeledon Urralburu (Iturributa) from Iturributa United (ITB) to Echegoyan FC

The transfer market was relatively quiet this off-season, though some big names retired from football. Vladimir Beschastyn, a very successful centre-back with Royal Rumiatzi; Victor Brexio, of great campaigns with Sporting Iturributa; Wilson Prieto, Cafundelense nightmare for the enemies of Royal Rumiatzi; and Alexei Razov, remembered for his time with Urbizania Wanderers and Sporting Iturributa. Elsewhere, Tilford Quirin's contract was cut short by mutual accord with Astograth University and Gordonopian clubs went shopping in the First Division, Opilano Errotabehere snapped up by Reichsburg FC and youngster Zuzen Sagarribay by Teva FC. Echegoyani teams did their own bit with the Iturributan Premier Division, Freedom FC's Todor Arreche going to Blue Mountain Range and Echegoyan FC taking in acclaimed winger Zeledon Urralburu from Iturributa United.

First Division

ImageImage
Echegoyan FC
Hometown: Echegoyan
Ground: Silanes Park (55,140)
Colours: White and green striped shirt, green shorts and socks
Honours: 3 Leagues (644, 650, 653); 1 Royal Cup (645); 1 Ides of March Cup (653)
Manager: Garoa Larzondo
Lineup: Burni Gorrindo; Ximun Yaka, Aurelio Seriesta, Bikendi Medrano, Raitin Eneriz; Koldobika Benitzaizin, Jane Vander Rox, Iban Bachiondo (C), Manex Urrutia; Baudouin Richelieu, Kauldi Isasmendi
Shirt Sponsor: Yogutz (Astograthian dairy products)
Season 653: Champions
Notes: This Echegoyan side put together by Garoa Larzondo is being heralded as one of the greatest Astograthian teams of all time. An arguable claim, but the numbers and momentum are definitely on their side. At a time when nobody else in the First Division can claim this level of experience and talent across the entirety of its squad, with greats such as Bachiondo, Vander Rox, Eneriz, Seriesta and Isasmendi running amok, the key for the Highlanders will be to avoid overconfidence and to sustain the pressure; should they buckle, Silanes Park will be in for a nasty disappointment.

ImageImage
Urbizania Wanderers
Hometown: Urbizania
Ground: Cherketzo Arena (34,500)
Colours: All dark green kit
Honours: 1 League (651); 3 Royal Cups (643, 652, 653); Champions' Cup 43
Manager: Edorta Urrustoy
Lineup: Urgutz Martinena; Guðmundur Olsson, Giro Ekenarro, Yokin Arizmande, Hitzeder Kareaga; Iulian Finnibaturinn, Edwardo Baez, Felix Zajaczek, Yaizki Alaberri (C), Laborious Hawk; Ikatz Ansotegi
Shirt Sponsor: Farautoo (Polarian vehicle manufacture)
Season 653: 2nd
Notes: If there's someone who can challenge Echegoyan man-to-man, it's Wanderers. They were only slightly off the pace last season, which makes it just as likely for Edorta Urrustoy's side to come away with the title this season. A team boasting this kind of defensive discipline, midfield steel and offensive prowess - including an immortal five-time World Cup winner, which cannot be stressed enough - can settle for nothing less.

ImageImage
Royal Rumiatzi
Hometown: Rumiatzi
Ground: Knights' Stadium (70,000)
Colours: White shirt, dark blue shorts and socks
Honours: 5 Leagues (634, 635, 637, 643, 648); 2 Royal Cups (634, 644); Aeropag Football Invitational 22
Manager: Gaur Arambilet
Lineup: Cheru Larretape (C); Urtzi Galard, Echepare Zuleta, Izotz Ugaldea, Váradi Szemere; Aintôrthea Durosa, Galeano, Josef Vitek, Vladimir Konovalov; Ellis Elsmvikur, Val Kylx
Shirt Sponsor: Torstebank (Blockhead banking)
Season 653: 3rd
Notes: The fans begin to grow impatient - the elusive sixth title is necessary to sate their record-holding need - but they are thankfully prepared to go easy on a manager that won them three of those leagues as a player. The defense may not be what it once was, with a 37 year-old Larretape behind two fairly unspectacular centre-backs, but up front Durosa, Vitek and Konovalov continue to run rings around the opposition, Elmsvikur having lost none of his lustre and Val Kylx being his own ridiculous self.

ImageImage
Ituraitz FC
Hometown: Ituraitz
Ground: Ituraitz Sporting Ground (63,000)
Colours: All red kit
Honours: 5 Leagues (636, 641, 642, 647, 652); 5 Royal Cups (637, 640, 641, 646, 649); 2 Ides of March Cups (641, 652)
Manager: Ichaso Chapitel
Lineup: Machin Logegaray; Bardol Oiskonta, Edorta Garro, Roger Steiner, Dima Petersen (C); Fantasia Cecile-Marie, Ikatz Alberro, Ostoja Maric, Anixi Eturaspe; Tomas Aer, Alphonse Richelieu
Shirt Sponsor: ChocoMilk (Citiz dairy products)
Season 653: 4th
Notes: Ituraitz have a strong squad that could be going places, though there are doubts as to whether it has become stagnant despite Chapitel's innovations. Either way, Alphonse Richelieu has revealed himself to be a highly capable striker as successor to the legendary Soter Sarlange; his matches against twin brother Baudouin - also a striker, at Echegoyan - are sure to be fascinating. Ikatz Alberro and Anixi Eturaspe continue to be one of the most intriguing midfield partnerships in the league, for their part, while Tomas Aer seems determined to make one final splash as retirement looms ever closer.

ImageImage
Astograth University
Hometown: Rumiatzi
Ground: Arritzola (36,350)
Colours: White and light blue halved shirt, light blue shorts and white socks
Honours: 1 League (649); 2 Royal Cups (648, 650); Aeropag Football Invitational 23
Manager: Xuban Barrutia
Lineup: Argider Gorriaran; Burni Beyaitz, Haitz Maistegi, Bakar Laranaga, Efraín Vizcaíno; Andrey Antić, Ayoro Barinaga, Lekubegi Guerrikaechebarria (C), Leizarraga Lukuix; Alejandro Martinuccio, Victoria Hellion
Shirt Sponsor: Astek (Astograthian electronics)
Season 653: 5th
Notes: Astograth University may still be one of Astograth's big teams, but not quite the title challengers they were a few seasons back. Not that they don't have the talent, what with Olibondeka's Gorriaran, Maistegi, Barinaga and Guerrikaechebarria; Iturributa's Laranaga and Lukuix, Sargossa's Martinuccio and Yesopalitha's Hellion... but something's amiss. Should Xuban Barrutia not figure out what it is and guide University back to the Champions' Cup, the board might well take the risk and bring in someone else.

ImageImage
Oyardo FC
Hometown: Oyardo
Ground: Sahatsakbasoa (24,890)
Colours: White and red striped kit, black shorts and socks
Honours: 1 Royal Cup (651)
Manager: Atzeden Lusa
Lineup: Polentzi Gayategi; Ekain Ziaurriz, Adame Ordozkoiti, Eskuin Subies, Oihan Elizabaraz; Yurpá Mêndêlöíndçêl, Berdaitz Ide, Aletsander Gastiazoro, Peli Alzu (C); Burutzagi Sagastizabal, Eguzki Berriex
Shirt Sponsor: MaksiMerk (Astograthian supermarkets)
Season 653: 6th
Notes: Oyardo's renowned players may be few, namely goalkeeper Polentzi Gayategi, Iturributa's Adame Ordozkoiti, Farfadillis' impronounceable Yurpá Mêndêlöíndçêl, captain Peli Alzu and national team striker Eguzki Berriex, but the quality of their homegrown talent is well documented and that is exactly what they've been going back to with manager Atzeden Lusa. More players, such as Aletsander Gastiazoro, are being brought up from the academy than in the seasons before their calamitous drop to the second-tier; their meteoric climb back to sixth place seems to be a clear sign that they should continue their tradition.

ImageImage
Athletic Club Rumiatzi
Hometown: Rumiatzi
Ground: Gotorlekua (42,000)
Colours: White and blue striped shirt, blue shorts and socks
Honours: None
Manager: Arkaitz Goyenola
Lineup: Echepare Larrea; Cherran Ukio, Ixona Unamunzaga (C), Gabirel Baigorria; Ayert Bidorrieta, Pagomari Zamarriyo, Erramun Guza, Alots Osamiz; Echekopar Larrere, Indartsu Errendasoro, Otsando Irubieta
Shirt Sponsor: Rumikola (Astograthian soft drinks)
Season 653: 7th
Notes: From the second tier to the Globe Cupe. Not a bad start at all for manager Arkaitz Goyenola, brought in from Lermendia FC to reinvigorate a side that has been down on its luck for the past 21 years, with its status as Rumiatzi's second most popular team heavily challenged. Winning trophies is still a long shot, but Athletic can find solace in their recent form and their skilled manager, if not their relatively unknown players. They're heading in the right direction, for now.

ImageImage
Blue Mountain Range
Hometown: Echegoyan
Ground: Ximun Orieta Sporting Ground (34,000)
Colours: All light blue kit
Honours: None
Manager: Bizi Boutayre
Lineup: Yoritz Suastegi; Edur Raizabal (C), Oroitz Garayzabal, Anartz Agirrebenia, Perucho Izandizaga, Iratze Ixuel; Hannibal, Marchot Zabaliauregi, Baleren Uruztarzu, Marcel Sanderskye; Todor Arreche
Shirt Sponsor: Notzi Zombees (Taeshani energy drinks)
Season 653: 8th
Notes: Blue Mountain Range have been all over the mid-table and lower in recent years, sometimes barely managing to stay in the top flight, other times soaring high before inevitably crashing down as the last day of the season approaches. The board haven't wanted to blame it on the manager yet,but discontent amongst the fans grows every year as rivals Echegoyan climb always higher. BMR could be much more; for now they'll content themselves with such players as Iturributa's Yoritz Suastegi and Todor Arreche, Polarian veteran Marcel Sanderskye and Olibondeka sweeper Anartz Agirrebenia.

ImageImage
Athletic Club Olarria
Hometown: Olarria
Ground: North Point Stadium (44,270)
Colours: Claret shirt with sky blue hoop, claret shorts and socks
Honours: None
Manager: Eate Orkiola
Lineup: Alarabi Galayarde; Luken Iturricha, Lerchun Isasi, Maurin Bayar, Anton Axpuru (C); Aurre Ilarri, Bernat Lateche, Anartz Alutziza, Yakes Marichalar; Adon Aburto, Amadeus Irndtor
Shirt Sponsor: Barrertze (Astograthian tourism services)
Season 653: 9th
Notes: Olarria didn't have a great season last year, but the fans, talent and will are all there for them to claim a Globe Cup spot. With the best of Astograth's "fringe" players, Iturributan battering ram Adon Aburto and the fading but still commanding Polarian forward Amadeus Irndtor, Eate Orkiola will have a lot to explain should Olarria fail to go up the table.

ImageImage
South Factory
Hometown: Rumiatzi
Ground: The Foundry (37,710)
Colours: All yellow kit
Honours: None
Manager: Andoitz Arriaga
Lineup: Bela Darkibel; Ostadar Gurina, Maurin Doynehard, Larendi Berruet, Iban Zarazua; Eyande Arroita, Iracho Chondoro, Balasi Pagadigorria, Yon Gayastegi; Alexis Zeljeznicar, Anixi Yaureguialzo
Shirt Sponsor: Poplaberg (Polarian housing)
Season 653: 10th
Notes: South Factory continue to languish in the lower reaches of the First Division, their play seemingly aimless for large parts of the season. Despite being one of Rumiatzi's more popular clubs, having a solid infrastructure and investment on behalf of BlockCom, poor decisions by the board have made it quite difficult for Factory to organise themselves. Arroita, Yaureguialzo, Zeljeznicar and Gayastegi keep them afloat, but survival is fragile.

ImageImage
Gesterlake FC
Hometown: Gesterlake
Ground: Castle Hill (38,630)
Colours: Yellow shirt, dark blue shorts, yellow socks
Honours: None
Manager: Chachu Larreburo
Lineup: Arixo Haristoy; Egoitz Ermigarat, Aitzol Garat, Yuli Soroko, Loren Grakiarena; Orti Ona, Gurutz Nekochea, Tipi Lafarga (C), Bartosz Slusarski; Totakoxe Riarte, Betadur Arrieta
Shirt Sponsor: Dukomm (Astograthian telecommunications)
Season 653: 11th
Notes: There isn't much to say about Gesterlake, other that they have performed according to expectations (other than their own fans', of course) and that they regrettably failed to cement themselves in the Globe Cup positions they'd reached not long ago. Iturributan defensive midfielder Gurutz Nekochea could prove to be a quality player in time, while Lafarga, Slusarski, Riarte and Arrieta continue to prove the worth of experience.

ImageImage
Gortz United
Hometown: Gortz
Ground: Ibakultzara Stadium (10,650)
Colours: All purple kit
Honours: None
Manager: Ubelteso Adin
Lineup: Gaxan Echabeguren; Luar Berriatua, Etor Oyhanar, Luk Agirrebalzategi, Benat Sorrekieta; Moncho Gochikoa, Lerchun Aragor (C), Aitor Yakachurry, Otsoko Bastida, Tartalo Achaga; Iratze Errekaborde
Shirt Sponsor: Henrik (Polarian banking)
Season 653: 12th
Notes: Dei Ormache and his Polarian connections may be pumping money into the club, but Gortz United continue to struggle heading into their fourth season in the top flight. Some of their lustre has worn off already with the retirements of Ormache and many of the other veteran players he brought to the club with him, but former Olibondeka captain Ubelteso Adin is confident he has the right players to cling onto the First Division for a while yet. Agirrebalzategi, Aragor, Gochikoa, Achaga and Errekaborde are of proven quality - Adin, on the other hand, is not. As a manager, at least.

ImageImage
Ituraitz Victory
Hometown: Ituraitz
Ground: Ituraitz Sporting Ground (63,000)
Colours: All blue kit
Honours: 1 Royal Cup (639)
Manager: Gunutz Yaregi
Lineup: Ametz Teyechea; Dunixi Dibar, Iturri Samalbide, Erramun Gambarri, Galoer Urruchua; Abarrotz Ituarte, Chordon Endara, Loiola Muhaburu (C), Ehiotz Subiri, Belche Goroztiza; Oxel Nuin
Shirt Sponsor: Petromok (Astograthian petrol)
Season 653: 13th
Notes: Ituraitz Victory have always been unpredictable, but their latest death-defying stunt was one too many and Soin Azkue was sacked. His replacement? None other than the infamous Gunutz Yaregi, himself sacked from the Astograthian national team. His methods may be controversial and his attitude disliked, but the fact that he has a Copa Rushmori to his name and was directly responsible for Echegoyan FC's rise cannot be ignored. Expectation is high in Ituraitz, to say the least.

ImageImage
Lermendia FC
Hometown: Lermendia
Ground: Itzarrak Sporting Ground (21,450)
Colours: White and green hooped shirt, white shorts and socks
Honours: None
Manager: Goren Barrenechea
Lineup: Erlantz Galechaga; Baleren Parrondo, Larendi Goriz, Mendebal Linzoain, Pagomari Tsamudio; Ihazintu Monkaut, Lon Pildayn, Orkatz Otaiza (C), Errolan Echaburua; Bidaurre Urritz, Urgutz Salaber
Shirt Sponsor: Lantzia (Astograthian luxury vehicles)
Season 653: Second Division champions
Notes: Few people expected Goren Barrenechea to take Lermendia back to the First Division in his first season in charge of the club, only his second job as a manager following a discreet spell at the helm of Rumiatzi United. But he did it, and in style, pushing the competition to the side and making Lermendia the fourth Astograthian side to reach the SBCC semifinals. The team are playing their best football in a long time, and could make waves this season.

ImageImage
Ximun Orieta FC
Hometown: Ituraitz
Ground: The Deathbowl (32,460)
Colours: Purple shirt, black shorts and socks
Honours: None
Manager: Machin Mimenza
Lineup: Kariet Berterriex; Aitor Bustingorry (C), Errolan Raskin, Ekaitz Echegarai, Leheren Eskoriaza; Bayardo Anzola, Azibar Errekaret, Denis Kiriza, Gentza Estayo; Sanduru Iraeta, Elazar Arrizabalaga
Shirt Sponsor: Seasogs (Polarian spirits)
Season 653: 2nd in Second Division
Notes: It's been four long, dreadful years at the Deathbowl, but Ximun Orieta are finally back and First Division football will again be played at the biggest stadium misnomer in the Goose Coast. Their players may not ring a bell, but Machin Mimenza is back with a vengeance after ill-fated First Division campaigns with East Railway, and has imprinted a discipline and tactical awareness upon his side that could lead them to new heights.

ImageImage
Royal Arexa
Hometown: Arexa
Ground: Goyaingerua Stadium (31,810)
Colours: All white kit
Honours: 1 Royal Cup (647)
Manager: Milian Erburu
Lineup: Oskarbi Hortal; Endira Elichagaray, Burutzagi Alisal, Mendiko Eguia, Piarres Otadui; Loyola Alegria, Beremando Eskibel (C), Zeledon Karou, Ambe Anchustegi; Ixaka Segura, Sendoa Bordaberry
Shirt Sponsor: Kirrolen (Iturributan energy drinks)
Season 653: 3rd in Second Division
Notes: Royal Arexa, for all their newfound form under Milian Erburu, are but a shadow of the team that won the Royal Cup and reached the Cygnus Cup semifinals seven years ago. Many from that generation may remain, but their play just isn't the same. Striker Ixaka Segura has managed to drag the team this far, but they are unlikely to last very long under such conditions in the much harsher top flight.

Beaverriver Soccer Leagues Season 18

Wes TY brings Beaverriver more glory and expectations on the international stage after advancing to the knockout stages of the UICA Globe Cup and having one win away from getting into group stages in the Champions Cup. Elite club Trolls are AFC on the other hand had difficulties with their opponent and had an early exit. Both Wes TY and Trolls are AFC are fighting for the trophy along with other good clubs like Corny Town and Beast SC.

The Astograthian Football League: Season 654 Review

Preview

The 21st season of Astograthian football has come to a close, with a bombastic three-way finale that was not fit for the weak of heart! Coupled with exciting times in the second tier and the Royal Cup, this was one to remember.

First Division
From the start, four sides announced their intention to fight for the title. The battle lines were drawn immediately; in one corner, the defending champions Echegoyan FC, in the others the challengers - Urbizania Wanderers, Ituraitz FC and Royal Rumiatzi. One-third of the way into the season it was all-out war, with a high-scoring Ituraitz in the lead and the rest close behind, Wanderers rounding off the top four just five points off the leaders. They held nothing back, and the clashes between themselves had to be seen to be believed... nevermind their merciless demolishing of lesser sides. On the same weekend, early in the season, Echegoyan FC put 7 past Victory at the Ituraitz Sporting Ground while Royal Rumiatzi crushed Athletic Club Rumiatzi 7-3 in the city derby - and would do so again the next time they met; meanwhile Wanderers and Ituraitz played out a 3-3 draw at Cherketzo Arena.

The First Division saw one of its most high-scoring seasons blaze past at breakneck speeds, the four title contenders giving each other no space to breathe while the other twelve clubs took up the same spirit and played a football more vigorous than ever before; it was not rare for a weekend to average 4 goals a match or more as each side ripped each other to pieces. At the halfway point Wanderers, privileging a more defensive approach than its rivals, began to tire and lag behind, allowing Oyardo FC to slip into fourth place; they would henceforth take no part in the title scramble, settling into their own brutal conflict against Oyardo and Astograth University for that coveted Champions’ Cup spot.

This Ituraitz FC side, virtually the same that won the penultimate First Division and took down East Franz Athletic 4-0 in the Ides of March Cup, consolidated itself as one to fear and cherish, the long-awaited product of investments made a long time ago. Ikatz Alberro was once again the team's beating heart, orchestrating the attack and the defense to produce a barrage of goals and relatively few in turn. Anixi Eturaspe and Roger Steiner were his vital links to the front and back; Fantasia Cecile-Marie and Ostoja Maric vulnerated all defenses, Ekhi Subies provided the speed the team required to weave through balls, and the strikers - mainly Alphonse Richelieu, Tomas Aer and Ibai Kiriano - pummeled any and all who crossed their path.

They held the lead for most of the season, giving it up to Royal Rumiatzi on MD22 after a 5-3 loss at Knights' Stadium that sent Gorriaka reeling. Oyardo FC draining points from Echegoyan then gave Ituraitz some breathing space, but Royal Rumiatzi had only themselves to blame when draws to Ituraitz Victory and Gesterlake FC handed the lead back to Ituraitz; furthermore, Urbizania Wanderers showed they weren't quite dead yet by holding the Knights to another draw. This left Royal Rumiatzi and Echegoyan three points behind Ituraitz, heading into the final matchday... on the fixture list of which was Ituraitz FC vs Echegoyan FC.

The situation was now complex and set to be nail-bitingly awesome any which way it went. Should Ituraitz win, they'd bring home the First Division title. Should Echegoyan win, they'd take home the league thanks to head-to-head results unless Royal Rumiatzi also won, in which case the trophy would be going to the capital by virtue of H2H results over both Echegoyan and Ituraitz - all three incredibly tied on 65 points. Ultimately, the simplest case came to be, as Gorriaka ran out the winners at the Ituraitz Sporting Ground, but it wasn't just any match.

Ituraitz FC vs. Echegoyan FC, on the final matchday of the 654 season, went down in the history books as one of the greatest matches in Astograthian football, and not just because of what was at stake.

All matches kicked off at 6 o'clock sharp on Saturday, as they usually do on the last day of the league season. Val Kylx put Royal Rumiatzi 1-0 up against Oyardo FC before a full minute was played. Which is to stay, things started off normally. Fantasia Cecile-Marie, on 12 minutes, had flares lit up in her honour after opening the score for Ituraitz, a celebration that only prolonged itself when Tomas Aer doubled their lead three minutes later. Kauldi Isasmendi pulled one back and planted seeds of doubt in the Gorriaka camp, which bloomed with only a third of the match played when Baudouin Richelieu equalised. Heading into half-time, Alphonse Richelieu, twin brother to Baudouin, put Ituraitz back into the lead; meanwhile, in Rumiatzi, the Knights had set up a barrier to defend their precious lead.

With the score already 3-2, the second half of the showdown in Ituraitz was, in modest terms, undiluted insanity. Baudouin Richelieu scored twice more in the first two minutes, including one exquisite curled effort just inside the box that sent Echegoyan fans into raptures. They held out like this against the Ituraitzi onslaught, 3-4, for the better part of twenty minutes, before Zuzen Eturaspe, just subbed in, was sent off for a needless sliding tackle in the middle of the pitch. Larzondo's carefully planned strategy broke down, even with contingency plans in place, and Aer scored again to equalise. Ibai Kiriano, on for Koldobika Benitzaizin as Chapitel searched to seal the win, made it 5-4 and unleashed the fury of Kauldi Isasmendi, who was sent off for a second yellow after hysterical complaints that the goal was offside.

Lacking two men, the final fifteen minutes were a living hell for Echegoyan FC. Kiriano and Alphonse Richelieu completed their braces - the latter doing so in order to top the First Division scoring charts - and Aer rounded off the rout with his third goal of the night. Final score: 8-4. The match in Rumiatzi was made all the more irrelevant when they learned that Yurpá Mêndêlöíndçêl had equalised for Oyardo... Dima Petersen was all ready to lift his third league title, his first as captain of Ituraitz FC and the club's record-breaking sixth.

Outside of the heartstopping championship battle, Wanderers were victorious in claiming the fourth Champion’ Cup spot, Oyardo FC battling to the bitter end but unable to escape the Globe Cup positions - something they are nevertheless very proud of, especially considering they bested Astograth University. The AU, for their part, played well but found themselves coming away with too little too often - a fault that has cost Xuban Barrutia his job.

Further down, Athletic Club Olarria did very well to reach the Globe Cup despite very stiff competition from Gortz United, who themselves surprised by climbing so high. Athletic Club Rumiatzi, Lermendia FC and Gesterlake FC put in some rather middling performances that flirted with relegation and they will no doubt hope to improve the following season; Ximun Orieta FC and Blue Mountain Range dangled on a precipice of darkness, the latter team scoring a record low of just 13 goals in 30 matches - though that they only conceded 28 in return was very celebrated.

In the relegation zone, Ituraitz Victory's season was as sour as they come. The hiring of Gunutz Yaregi seemed to herald a new age of improvement but brought about a year of defeat, dressing room spats, benched stars, storming out of press conferences and general unpleasantness; needless to say, Yaregi will not be continuing in his post the following season. South Factory have no such excuses, their position due largely to poor football, while Royal Arexa were fairly high-scoring but could not bear the weight of First Division football upon their inexperienced players' shoulders.

Second Division
The Second Division could be described as exciting, but in lieu of what took place in the top flight such a word seems far too strong now. Separated by just two points, Royal Association, Urizaharra FC and Royal Ibarbe, all relegated in the last two years, will be making their return to the First Division, while long-time absentees Athletic Club Yungoitio will compete in the SBCC. Of note is The Army Club's collapse to almost relegation, a sign of their growing financial issues.

Not a whole lot of note in this round, a preliminary warm-up to the hard-hitting Round of 16 and beyond. Of some interest was Scarlettville Rough Riders' continuation in the tournament at the expense of Uertza FC, Islanders beating Antiguoko FC, and Izarloka overcoming a feeble Ximun Orieta.

Athletic Club Olarria 0-3 Urbizania Wanderers (2-3 agg)

This may be the round where things typically get good, but the motley assortment of teams that reached this tage made for a very atypical Round of 16. Echegoyan FC took down Izarloka FC with some difficulty, while the hopes of both Princess Béatrice Island teams were cut short by Athletic Yungoitio and Royal Ibarbe. Ituraitz FC ended Butzanda United's own fairytale, and Urbizania Wanderers turned around their tie against Olarria thanks to a majestic hat-trick from Laborious Hawk.

QUARTERFINALS
Echegoyan FC 2-3 South Factory

Royal Ibarbe 3-0 Athletic Club Yungoitio (4-1 agg)

Royal Rumiatzi 0-1 Ituraitz FC (1-1 AET, 2-1 agg)

Ituraitz Victory 0-0 Urbizania Wanderers
Urbizania Wanderers 0-1 Ituraitz Victory (0-1 agg)

Now this was an exciting cup round. South Factory and Echegoyan FC put together a high-scoring tie that was only decided in the dying minutes of the second leg, Aurelio Seriesta heading in a late corner to take the Highlanders to the semis. Royal Ibarbe also made it, as unlikely as it may seem, with a dominating show against Yungoitio. The clash of titans was between Ituraitz FC and Royal Rumiatzi, which went to extra-time at Knights' Stadium and was decided by a controversial penalty, at any rate well-taken by Ellis Elmsvikur. The big surprise was Ituraitz Victory holding Urbizania Wanderers to a draw at the Ituraitz Sporting Ground and getting a smash-and-grab away win from Cherketzo Arena, Oxel Nuin with the winner to soothe their league troubles.

SEMIFINALS
Echegoyan FC 0-0 Royal Ibarbe
Royal Ibarbe 0-2 Echegoyan FC (0-2 agg)

Royal Rumiatzi 2-1 Ituraitz Victory
Ituraitz Victory 1-1 Royal Rumiatzi (2-3 agg)

Victory had hoped to mend their pitiful league results with a good cup run, and reaching the semifinals was certainly a great achievement, but their ambition was too great. They didn't make it easy for Royal Rumiatzi, but a Kylx goal at the Ituraitz Sporting Ground took the Knights to their seventh Royal Cup final – with only two trophies to show for the last six and four defeats in a row. Echegoyan FC, though troubled by Royal Ibarbe at Silanes Park, had no trouble putting down the Second Division upstarts in the away leg, to set up a final between the losers of the last two editions, both to Urbizania Wanderers.

ROYAL CUP FINAL
@ Grand Duke's Stadium, Rumiatzi
Echegoyan FC 2-2 Royal Rumiatzi
(2-3 AET)

Both had been slighted by Ituraitz FC just a week prior. Both needed to let off steam. Only one could win the Royal Cup final.

Neither need an introduction. Val Kylx opened the scoring for Royal Rumiatzi within the first three minutes of play; so far everything was normal. Josef Vitek made it two after an Elmsvikur shot was barely parried by Burni Gorrindo, and to the majority of the fans at Grand Duke's it seemed over before half-time, Echegoyan incapable of mounting an offense. That changed in the second 45, as Zeledon Urralburu was brought on and gave right-back Váradi Szemere a very bad time, providing the low cross for Kauldi Isasmendi to dive headfirst into and score, and slipping the ball past the defensive line to assist Manex Urrutia not long from the end of the ninety minutes.

The comeback seemed complete as extra-time wore on and Echegoyan pressed ever deeper, until in one moment of brilliance Galeano took the ball forward and played it long for Vladimir Konovalov to collect from high and beat Gorrindo, two touches total. Holding out was not a simple matter, even if Echegoyan had taken a harsh blow to their morale, but in the end it was Cheru Larretape lifting the Knights' third Royal Cup - a fitting farewell to a one-club career that lasted twenty years, keeping goal in over 500 league matches, earning 83 national team caps and being the local soul of a club that is ever more cosmopolitan in its make-up.

COPA DE CAMPEONES: GRAND DUKE'S STADIUM, RUMIATZI (90,000)
Image

In lieu of the growing importance of the Rushmori Copa de Campeones, the FAF will submit for the CRF's consideration Grand Duke's Stadium, which with seating for 90 thousand people, is by far the largest stadium in all of Astograth. Making full use of its multipurpose pitch and track, the arena hosts a variety of sporting events throughout the year; as a rule the only football games to regularly take place at Grand Duke's are the Royal Cup final at the very end of the season and the Astograthian national team's home matches, which is why simply being there can be a dream come true for Astograthian players.

Besides those matches already mentioned, Grand Duke's Stadium has also hosted the very first Ides of March Cup, contested annually by the league champions of Astograth and Polar Islandstates, as well as the final of the eighth Copa Rushmori, the third place matches of the 48th Cup of Harmony and the 45th Baptism of Fire, the 45th UICA Champions’ Cup final won by Turoki Tide against Raynor City United, and the World Cup 62 Final won by The Holy Empire over Bears Armed.

The stadium itself is very modern and fully equipped to stage any tournament, with retractable stands that extend over the track, allowing for an increased capacity and closer view during events that don't require the use of the athletics track. For the Copa de Campeones final, the organisers promise the utmost security and ease of transit for all fans, cooperating with the authorities to stage a truly memorable encounter. Commemorative plaques will be installed alongside those of the winners of the aforementioned matches. The opening and closing ceremonies promise to be glamorous, and Grand Duke Lastur himself will be present to hand over the trophy personally, if permitted.

SERIES B CHAMPIONS’ CUP 44: NORTH POINT STADIUM, OLARRIA (44,270)
Image

With the final of Champion’ Cup 45 at Grand Duke's Stadium proving to be a huge success, the FAF is now eager to host the final of the Series B Champion’ Cup, albeit in a slightly less grandiose place. North Point Stadium seats 44,270 people and is located in the northern city of Olarria, known for its busy port, windswept coast and its rising football club, Athletic Club Olarria. Historically linked with the city of Ituraitz, Olarria has a strong footballing culture that dates back to the arrival of the sport's first pioneers, from Mytannion. The local clubs, including Athletic, are some of the oldest in the whole of Astograth, but they have struggled for long periods and the FAF hopes to further rekindle the fans' passion by hosting the final of a UICA tournament, one that local fans will know well, having competed in it five times and having gone as far as the semifinals once.

The FAF believe the location to be ideal, and the stadium itself is perfect for an elite tournament, hosting group stage matches of World Cup 62. Originally a rather sleepy ground for 12,000, it has undergone two major renovations that have piled stands one on top of the other to provide a steep design that both intimidates visitors and makes for a fantastic atmosphere. The exact same precautions as for Champion’ Cup 45 will be taken at North Point, with the utmost care taken to afford a welcoming experience for travelling fans.

And here comes the rawrcrush. بطل set a record for largest championship win, finishing an incredibly strong 16 points above second place. They achieved utter dominance by doing what most Ibex would never consider--playing defense. Their revolutionary use of the "Christmas Tree" (we're unsure what a 'tree' is nor what it has to do with the holiday, but that's the name we've been told), a 4-3-2-1 formation, set a record for the number of defensive players simultaneously on an Ibex pitch. It payed off tremendously. Only one team conceded less than twice as many as they did--هيل طويلة using the relatively defensive 3-4-3 formation to good use, cutting their unsightly 46 goals allowed in 1067 into a much more manageable 35. This led to them jumping from a lowly eighth all the way up to fourth, grabbing an unlikely international qualification spot for the small mountain town of Tibuck. Meanwhile, just above them, سياف stayed true to their name and kept up a continuous assault the entire season. They set Emporor's League records for goals scored AND conceded, as well as least ties, ultimately bashing their way into third. تل, who stole second from سياف with a win which sealed خنجر's fate to a mid-table finish while سياف took their predicted loss to بطل, played perhaps the most balanced hoofball this year. Their 2-3-5 formation is slightly more defensive than average, keeping them under the magical number of 40 goals allowed, while still being aggressive enough to score the second-most goals in the league. On the other side of the table, لص shocked everyone by NOT finishing last for once. Their ability to scrape out draws proved invaluable to this, as they were tied on wins with a surprisingly weak الامبراطور أروع squad, the latter actually finishing with a less horrific goal differential but still less points. And, as usual, Isllamabad takes home the trophy for most successful city.

Globe Cup 43: مدرج الكبرى, Isllamabad (capacity 53,040)
The beating heart of the desert metropolis, مدرج الكبرى serves every purpose a stadium could--football, concerts, drama, sometimes they even pipe in water from the distant ocean to make a giant public swimming pool. They haven't done that in a few months, however, and the pitch has been kept in the best condition possible when fresh water is a scarce commodity. While the seating isn't very comfortable (though the adjacent streets will surely be packed with vendors hawking carry-cushions should a significant human crowd come) and the populace isn't all too friendly to humans in general, we assure all prospective traveling fans that the intense atmosphere is, by itself, worth the trip.

Falconwhereveryouare Primary Division -- Season 31
Preview

(Some teams referenced in transfers are farm teams and will not show up in scorination.)

Transfers [Mode of Transfer]

Nevil Nowak retires from Wingipeg FC
Motena Alvarado to Wingipeg FC from Marriet [Cash]
Kilroy Jarvis to Marriet from Sabrefell Athletic (New Sideburn) [Cash]
Glenn Anderson to Directus (Eura) from Nestingham FC [Loan ended]
Kilstÿ Sabre to Nestingham FC from the Nest [Call-up]
Sergey Grzeskiewicz to Directus (Eura) from Umber FC [Cash]
Atticus Koenigsted to Umber FC from da Cubs [Call-up]

Season 31 saw a much quieter transfer season, with just a handfull of players changing teams. The biggest piece of news was the retirement of prolific goalscorer and several-time-winner of the Platinum Cleat, Nevil Nowak. Without their lynchpin goalscorer, Wingipeg FC is due for some regression--they were able to buy a passable kicker from Marriet, but Motena Alvarado hardly lit the world on fire last season when her team finished near the bottom of the league in goals scored. Meanwhile, Marriet sought to supplement their tremendous defense with a foreign striker, bringing in veteran Kalroy Jarvis from New Sideburn to try and spark and their offense into existance. Glenn Anderson, after his wonderful season with Nestingham, will be returning to Eura a much improved player on a much degraded team. Directus no longer seems to be the force it once was, as shown by their panic signing of Sergey Grzeskiewicz off of Umber FC, just to have someone to fill out their back line. Grzeskiewicz is by no means a slacker, but isn't exactly the cream of the crop--he should do well in a mid-table Euran team. The two affected Falconian teams have dipped into their farm systems to fill the wholes, promising midfielder Kilstÿ Sabre looking to feed the dynamic (aging) due of Perry Dempsy and Myles Marrero, while a relatively unknown Atticus Koenigsted will try to hold the line for da Bears.

Ultimately, I predict the Wingers will find themselves on top of the table come the end of the season. Their lineup is strong across the board, and Champions seem to have an extremely difficult time defending their titles over the past few years, so that rules out Nestingham. Lywik has an outside chance if Finnbjörnsson has a tremendous year, but their lack of a serious championship challenge over the past couple of seasons has casted some doubt whether they can ever pull back the form that won them their first two titles. The only serious challenge to the Wingers will likely be the Lumberjacks, whose defensive prowess is a prefect foil for the offensive dominance of the Wingers. Lower down, you can probably expect Marriet and Reedring to be dueling it out with Nestingham and Lywik for the bottom two Globe Cup slots; Umber FC and Winterfell FC will likely continue on their mid-table ways, and the relegation fight will probably be a still gutted Kalta squad trying to hold back the recent promotees of Longbarrow and Northern Log.

Heading into a new century Charmunnry football has taken a turn which it's administrators have described as "hugely significant and vital for the future of football". Following three years of split the National Soccer Board and Cumann Sacaar an Tearmann have agreed to remerge, leading not only to a return to international football, but a reunification of the club game in the country. The most significant aspect of this will see Charmunnry teams entered into the Series B Champions Cup for the first time with the Junior League being recognised as the second tier. With the CST clubs otherwise losing out on UICA participation such an agreement is thought to have been key to the re-merger. Despite this the two leagues will remain closed shops with no promotion and relegation between the National Soccer and Junior Leagues.

Tyneala Championship

Despite the feelgood factor of the re-merger Goidelic were unable to overcome recent Aelsh domination in the season opening Tyneala Championship. Drayfill Town became the fourth Aelsh side in as many years to claim the Championship in what was a close and unusually entertaining affair.

Drayfill Town 2–1 Goidelic

National Soccer League

For the second year running the league title went down to the final day. This year however it wasn't between two favourites with the big clubs all struggling but rather two sides seen as outsiders. With third place and runners-up position in the last couple of years the signs should have been there that Rushmore Athletic would prove dangerous opposition, and yet few tipped them. Sortherners meanwhile have failed to hit the heights many expected of them when they won the league just over a decade ago. The second half of the season saw the lead constantly switch between those two teams with Rushmore having the advantage going into the final round of matches. However an away trip to a Downcurron Thistles side determined to claim a UICA place put paid to their hopes with a 1-0 defeat, whilst Sortherners had a rather easier trip to H.Ó.C.P. to claim the title.

All-Ancharmunn Challenge Cup

The re-merger sees the Challenge Cup return to a full slate of 32 teams. In truth however the Junior League teams are serving as little more than warm-ups for the NSL teams once more. Challenge Cup débutantes Cloaghtara in particular suffered, losing 10-0 at home to Red Star. That Red Star side would go on to score a further seven goal en route to the final. What they couldn't do however was score against Sortherners, who claimed the league and cup double for the second time in their history.

I'm not on the Greenwich Meridian so my time is a few seconds behind. Bear that in mind.

Season 1955

CAP reigns supreme as the undisputed champion of the Liga and in a somewhat convincing fashion, while Pasargan sides began to assert the dominance that is reflected within the UICA coefficients, taking the top three spots. And in the biggest surprise, the giants of Sporting San Marquez was not even able to muster themselves up to fight for a Globe Cup spot. Perhaps the difficulties of playing within the Liga are actually taking their toll? Though it certainly seems to have been a boon for the Corsairs national team side, who has risen in stature quite unexpectedly since the return of the Liga. Meanwhile the Copa saw plenty of matches venture past ninety minutes, including the Final, where Turkish was able to overcome their Sargossan adversaries in the penalty shootout, though in truth neither side were spot on from the spot kick challenge. The UICA though continues to vex both assocations and there is now only hope that the sides entered can manage to get a few wins rather than dare to dream for the group stages or beyond. Such is the fickle luck and nature of the international game, both at club level and with the national sides.
