SAUGEAIS APOX
Baptism of Fire 50
Welcome to the 50th Baptism of Fire, held for this historic edition in the Rushmori nation of Saugeais and the Esportivan nation of Apox. This is the first time either of us have hosted a Baptism of Fire, although Saugeais has previously hosted Cup of Harmony 47 and World Cup 60. For Apox, this is his first foray into hosting WCC events.
So you've signed up for this event, but what do you actually do, when taking part in a competition?
Well first of all, you need to post a roster, with some examples of previous nation's BoF rosters being found here (all from my own BoF): Short Roster, More in depth, Very comprehensive. Once you've posted you're roster, you need to let people know what they are allowed to "RP" about should they "RP" before you. IN NSSports, we use a set of "RP Permissions" for this. A template for these permissions goes as such:
- Code: Select all
I give my opponent permission to:
Choose my goalscorers: Y/N
Godmod scoring events: Y/N
Give my players yellow cards: Y/N
Give my players red cards: Y/N
Give injuries to my players: Y/N
Godmod injuries to my players: Y/N
Godmod other events: Y/N
Godmodding, for those who don't know, is a way in which something is RPed that would not normally occur, for example, to godmod a scoring event make be something such as: "The player kicked the ball towards the net, whereupon it hit a nearby flock of goose, was blown off course by a freak gust of wind, bounced off a cat that was running around on the pitch, and then went into the back of the net".
RP
Roleplay, or RP as it is commonly referred to, is how we describe a match that happens, although the RP doesn't have to be about the match in question at all. By RPing, you gain an RP bonus depending on how good it is. This RP bonus then makes it more likely for you to win, but doesn't guarantee a win. Roleplays can take many forms, from newspaper articles to character roleplays to full on story lines. The sky is the limit.
In this tournament, RP's will be graded from 1-3, and you will be expected to adhere to your opponents RP permission which will be found in their roster posts.
Should you need any help, this link: Guide to Sports Roleplaying is very helpful, and you can TG either host with any questions, we'll be happy to help.
Have a great tournament, and we hope to see you around in future tournaments to come here on NSSports!
