Criminals guilty of deliberate animal cruelty become animal chow for a variant of the animal species they mistreated, for example, cat torturers are fed to to a pride of lions, dog torturers are torn apart and devoured by a pack of wild dogs or wolves, reptile torturers are eaten by Komodo dragons.
For all other capital crimes (murder, rape, cruelty to animals that are herbivores or unsuitable for employment in executions, and a few other especially heinous offenses) the subject is taken to the highest observation deck of a skyscraper (our laws promote urban density, and there are many skyscrapers that are more than 150 stories tall) and thrown over the side. By tradition, the Peoples' Republic's prisons are located on the highest floors of public buildings, which is very convenient when transporting the condemned to their place of execution.

Lethal injection is the most common form of capital punishment in Syleruias. Although only used for major crimes; such as murder, black market trading, treason and war crimes. The procedure goes like this, after the convict is captured they are identified by their IDs and brought to the nearest prison for execution. After they arrive they are put on a schedule and wait in solitary confinement until it is time. Five guards are with large tasers, lightweight resilient vests and 15 years of training under their belts escort the prisoner to a room. He/she is strapped to a cold, sturdy metal chair and is paralysed by a precise stream of electricity channelling through his body. A special chemical solution is injected into their neck where it travels to their major organs and shuts them down completely.

The chemical is specially designed to only work once so it isn't disposed of carefully and is rather used for composting in the environment to help return nitrates to the soil. Their ID tag is extracted and put into a vault with all their information on it (Age, birth location, spouse, blood type, criminal records etc.) where it can be accessed for further cases if needed. Their families are not informed of the death. The government confiscates anything the criminal has when captured.

Generally most people who are sentenced to 10 or more years hard labor will die in the camps. This death can be caused by anything ranging from workplace accidents to arbitrary execution by an angry guard.
These camps hold about 600,000 people as of right now.

For official executions, we carry out about 4-5,000 a year. We use firing squad or hanging.

In Khanastan, The Life/Wasted Act dictates that anyone who is given a prison sentence that is longer than 20 years will be put to death. There is usually three days wait, unless there is a strong enough appeal, then a month will be added on once.

Everyone is killed in the same way, via a 5 man firing squad, armed with execution rifles, a weapon which the barrel holds 3 bullets, all of which will be fired at one second intervals at the target. The bodies are then donated to science, or burned.

In Vandahars harsh culture we believe capital punishment is too soft an option. We lobotomise and imprison convicts. This is mandatory for Murder, Drug Trafficking, Prostitute racketing and other forms of slavery, torture, rape and kidnap. It is also often used for domestic abuse.

Valourium has changed incredibly over the years. We no longer use such barbaric means of killing as we did before. The death penalty still exists in Valourium, but it has been many years since we last used it. Now, if we do use it, it is by cyanide injection. They die with 3-5 seconds, and don't feel any pain.

The Dictatorship of Kakostan's capital punishment methods are as follows:

If the crime was of lowest severity of capitally punished crimes, the criminal would be rendered unconscious using anesthetics before the execution, and would usually be given a lethal injection.

If the crime was of medium severity of capitally punished crimes, the criminal will not be rendered unconscious and would be given lethal injection, gas chamber, or firing squad depending on severity or the crime committed, or whatever the criminal is sentenced with.

If the crime was of high severity of capitally punished crimes, the criminal will be shot, either at a precinct station, or if severe enough, on the spot (but not where others can see it, usually just in an alleyway or an enclosed room).

If the crime was of highest severity of capitally punished crimes, the criminal will be given a public execution, usually televised. Occasionally, President Milentov-Jacoben himself would carry out the execution if the criminal was that much of an infamous nuisance to Kakostanian society.

In all cases, criminals are given time to give final words before the execution. These final words are logged and given to the family of the criminal, where they usually keep it for remembrance or place it on the criminal's epitaph. Exceptions to this are cases when a criminal is to be assassinated and registered as missing by the Domestic Intelligence Service (Kakostan's Secret Police).
