MEDIEVAL ARTS CHAMPIONSHIP I
Signups & Rosters Thread
Hello and welcome to the First Annual Medieval Arts Championship inspired by the Union Isle Medieval Arts Cup (OOC: Union Isle is a puppet of mine). It is to be hosted in Avenhelm, one of the oldest cities in the world belonging to a nation who's culture is strongly connected to that of the medieval period of it's history. For a long time, we have wanted to extend our rich and extensive culture with the rest of the world and so we present the Medieval Arts Championship to all nations of the world, with no exceptions and a promise of hospitality to all. The Medieval Arts Championship is organised by the Medieval Arts in Swyftlandre Committee or M.A.S.C.
Depending on reception, there may be two threads, this one, for Signups & Rosters (& OOC Discussion) and the second will be used for Ceremonies, RPs and results, which will be opened after Sign-Ups close (after 11-14 Days), to be opened soon. I encourage you to read the OP before posting.
How to Sign Up
Passage Copy-Pasted from the OoK by Sakhovelo
Copy and paste the events list that is in the following post. If you don't want to participate in an event, just erase it from the final list. The numbers appearing next to each event represent the maximum number of entries that each delegation (country) can enter into a single event. Of course, you can enter less athletes than the number shown. For the next steps, just keep reading. Put the names of your athletes or team, and at the side, put the skill modifier.
Nonetheless, remember to NOT tag or post a "provisional sign-up", as it will be ignored. Also, bear in mind that you can't edit your posts, as I may not realize you've changed anything. Any, absolutely ANY change you want to make, please make it in a new post.
Skill Modifier?
A skill modifier is a number that is used to Scorinate events and generate outcomes. It represents the skill that your athlete has in his or her field, it works on a scale of 0-100, an athlete with a skill level of 0 is equivalent to a n00b and an athlete with a skill level of 100 is equivalent to a World-Class Sports Man. Bear in mind that each entry has a skill level rather than each athlete, for instance, a single athlete in Jousting and a trio in Fencing both have only ONE skill modifier.
Overall, the average of skill modifiers must be 50 or less. If your average is more than 50, I'll be take the liberty of lowering some of your skill mods until it is 50.
Thou art not Limited
Unlike previous games, due to the low number of events in the Medieval Arts Championship, you are not restricted to the number of events you may join. However, this does not mean you have to join each event, you may choose to opt out of events as you wish.
Printing Names on Everything
Every entry must have a name, except where it says “1 team” (and there’s no specification on how many people are on that team); you can just put “team” or “national team”. If you actually want to name the players of this type of teams, you can do it in a roster for purposes of roleplaying. You NEED to name competitors for doubles, relay events, or anywhere where it says “x team of y”.
For reference, this is a good name generator that I generally use to scorinate events:
Behind The Name
