I may not post for a bit, depends on my RL schedule and when it seems best to introduce a new character. Hopefully I got all the points right.
Anyway, this RP needed 20% more sword-wielding crazy bitch, so I decided to make that happen.

Name: Katerina Curtiss
Age (Actual): 17
Age (Appears): Ditto.
Race: Half-Tengu. Doesn't have a huge-ass nose because fuck you and your couch.

-Chi Energy Lv.4: Can channel her above-average chi (human energy) into items or even people. Usually applied to her sword(s), which are constructed specifically for this purpose. Chi is a neutral energy, and as a result can be applied to virtually anything. However, it takes practice and inner calmness to use on unfamiliar objects, and when used on people it'd be tantamount to a Vulcan mind-meld. Though energized objects gain her durability (because they essentially become part of her) if the object in question is destroyed somehow it injures her VERY severely, to the point of total incapacitation. The limitations of chi are generally her own mental and physical endurance; but it's possible, in theory, to push beyond that limit. Unlike in the movies, she can't use chi itself as a weapon. No hadoukens or whatever. It's just imbuing objects with her essence in order to grant them increased durability, speed, control, and power. Literally, the item in question is "put into the loop" of the flow of chi, essentially becoming a part of her.
-Temporal Cooldown Lv.2: Is able to slow down time in her immediate vicinity, to the point where she seems to be moving a little faster than others around her, and looking a little blurry. Can dodge slow-moving projectiles. The further away from her that you are, the slower she seems to be moving. From about 30 feet away, she looks totally normal. It's only really effective within about 10 feet.
Weaknesses: She's overconfident in her own abilities, to the point where she also tends to monologue a little too much during fights. Especially if she thinks she's winning. Also, a lot of her powers and attacks depend solely on her stabbing implements. Without swords her power is more than halved.
Personality: Usually, she's haughty, proud, and generally kind of a bitch. Get to know her, though, and it's obvious that she isn't quite so bitchy; just sort of misunderstood and a little bit lonely. Holds herself and others to a very high standard, once again because of the element of bitchiness.
History: Half-Tengu, Half-Human, all fighting prowess. Born to a Tengu and a Shinto priestess, she was raised to stab shit and be awesome in a world that didn't really need people to do that sort of thing. However, once the world became aware of magic, all that changed. Having adopted "Katerina Curtiss" as her English moniker because no one could ever pronounce her Japanese name, she was sent by Japan to Elfen High, because Japan is likely a hotbed of magic shit, and they don't have enough Gundams. Has three swords: an odachi, called Kikkamosho; a katana, called Sojobo; and a wazikashi, called Aikido.

EXPLANATION OF ZE POWERS (written later)

It's less derived from anime, and more from my years of martial arts.
Essentially, in most East Asian martial arts (Chinese especially, but I still learned about it in Korean practices) there is a concept of your human energy, chi, being the force behind you and everything else that has a soul. Your chi is continually flowing through you, and if you master the method of working with the flow, rather than against it like most people, your strength and speed and all sorts of stuff increases exponentially. A good Taoist parable that explains this sort of thing and its applications to the external world is "Cook Ding Cuts the Beef". Your chi flows around you, but is still part of you, at the end of the day.

This all is derived from real-world martial arts stuff. Non-fiction. But the power I'm talking about with Kate here is the fictional ability to temporarily bring her swords into this "loop" of chi. They aren't just tools, at that point; they are literally part of her. Think of it as her soul actually flowing through the blade. Obviously, this would be very draining for her, but would allow for impossibly fine control of the sword, to the point where cutting through even the hardest armor would become effortless.

Is it a little bit clearer now? I'm sorry if I'm not explaining this very well. If you need me to elaborate on any point in here, I'd be glad to do so.
