Experience: This will be Cosumar's 11th World Cup. Cosumar has qualified and advanced past group stage for the past seven World Cups (54-60), including trips to the Round of 16 in World Cups 56-59. Cosumar has been consistently ranked in the Top 20, and reached a peak of 7th during World Cup 59.

Team: The roster consists of 20 players, 18 of which are human. The remaining 2 are Vloo, a humanoid species native to Cosumar. This Cosumarite team features a mix of seasoned veterans and athletic young talents.

More About Vloo: Please note that the Vloo, though not human, have no considerable physical advantage over human players. Minor differences are that the Vloo are slightly taller on average and must wear different cleats due to their unique foot structure. Vloo are nearly equal to humans in terms of strength and speed, but have a blue taint to their skin and two small, dull horns on the top of their head. Most Vloo's horns are completely covered by their thick, black hair.

The Starting XI

GK Tomi KOSKINEN (25)
A few years ago, Koskinen emerged as one of the best young stars in Cosumar. At only 20 years old, he dominated Cosumar's collegiate league by allowing only 0.4 goals per game. He has speedy reflexes like few had ever seen before, and his skill set flawlessly carried over to professional football. He is poised to make it very difficult for even the best of opponents to score and is set to be the long-term starter for this team after a successful outing in World Cup 60.

DF Alexander PEARCE (28)
Pearce has been traveling with the Cosumar National Team in a variety of positions since age 18. Pearce looks is becoming the next William Riley. His game has rapidly matured in the past few years and he is just as skilled as anyone else on the team and has received much hype from Cosumarite media. Being a starter in the last two World Cups was a valuable learning experience for Pearce as he looks to prove himself as a team leader in the Dragons' first World Cup after the retirement of the legendary DF William Riley.

DF Endyl PARU (30)
After a surprisingly impressive debut as a reserve in World Cup 59, Paru returned to the Dragons' for World Cup 60 as a starter. Paru is an intimidating figure at nearly 6"4, with some great moves and phenomenal endurance. His ever-present trademark yellow headband has become iconic in Cosumar, but he isn't just for show. Paru is one of Atlantian Oceania's premier defencemen and has been for several years.

DF Tae Woo MIYORI (23)
Miyori is a young star with a bright future in Cosumarite football. His best attribute is his speed and ball placement. Miyori is currently the fastest player on the team. After being mentored by the legendary William Riley in World Cup 60, Miyori is finally ready for the limelight. This Cup will be a valuable learning experience for him as he gets significant playing time in his first World Cup. Riley is retired Pearce isn't getting any younger, so Miyori is poised to take the mantle as the next great Cosumarite defenceman.

DF Kirum MORTONSSON (20)
Young and dashing Mortonsson recently completed his first professional FSF season with the Zakhoro Aces. The the season was a disappointment for the club, Mortonsson was the sole trace of hope. His outstanding debut season earned him a big fat paycheck to sign with perennial contender Ramusok United - and a spot on the National Team. Though his biggest fans are often teenage girls, he is supremely athletic and finds ways to make big plays when the team needs it the most. He can be hotheaded at times and make poor decisions. Being a first-year starter, he will frequently share some playing time to experienced bench players such as Phillip O'Hair.

MF Abel SCARLOFF (29)
Scarloff elected to immediately jump to professional soccer after high school and was a reserve on the WC58 team at a young age. He is highly skilled and has received much hype from international and domestic media - due to both his play in the Civil Citizenry domestic league (with Fox Zero) as well as his numerous WC game-winning goals. Scarloff is an excellent midfielder, but has the scoring abilities of a striker and scores many goals.

MF Giovanni ALDINNE (26)
Aldinne debuted in the FSF three seasons ago with up-and-coming club Real Azuris, which nearly reached the Globe Cup in large part due to him. Aldinne, like his cousin Francois Renault, was a much-hyped young prospect that has met all expectations and is becoming a vital part of the Dragons' scheme. World Cup 61 will be a chance for him to further hone his skills in his second year as a starter. Aldinne is noted for his extraordinary intelligence (maximum score on a Wonderlic equivalent) and speed.

ST Addam ANDSMAN-SAVAGE (29)
Though his last name is peculiar, Andsman-Savage is a well-known around Cosumar as the captain of FC Samotath. Scoring goals is what he does, and he does it well. This will be his second time to don the Cosumarite colors, after his well-publicized success in World Cup 60 despite a supposed feud between him and Manager Farris Crowley. All bad blood has apparently been put aside, as Andsman-Savage rightly earned a spot in the Starting XI again, though he may frequently sacrifice playing time to Simmons and Teverridge. Andsman-Savage ruthlessly attacks the goal and has a very precise aim. The ball goes where he wants. His only downside is lack of speed, which Crisalus, Renault and Simmons have in spades.

ST Sur ARORA (24)
After earning superstar status at the collegiate level, Arora signed with Samaj FC and had a promising rookie season. He genuinely loves the game and has been described by coaches as being "one of the hardest workers they ever coached". He is so noticably fluid in his motions, acceleration and ball control that it's almost scary. Arora is already an elite talent and in a few years could be one of the best in the world. His well-publicized inexperience and lack of endurace has vastly improved since World Cup 60. He has big shoes to fill - this will be the team's third World Cup without all-time leading scorer Rikki Varshney.

ST Francois RENAULT (26)
Renault debuted in the FSF three seasons ago with Cassandra City, which reached the Globe Cup in large part due to him. Renault, like his cousin Giovanni Aldinne, was a much-hyped young prospect that has met all expectations and is becoming a vital part of the Dragons' scheme. World Cup 61 will be a chance for him to further hone his skills in his second year as a starter. Aldinne is noted for his lethal combination of speed and brute strength.

ST Ejegefe NA'SAFEH (25)
Ejegefe Na'Safeh (pronounced: Eh-heh-hef-eh, Nah-Soff-eh) is a young Vloo football phenomenon from the remote Na'Malsile Isles of Cosumar. Na'Safeh has been a benchwarmer for the past two World Cups. He was at times magnificent and at times sloppy and was labelled as a "project". He has always had potential, but his consistency has long been an issue. It has taken time, but Na'Safeh has steadily improved and he may finally be ready for a starting position. Cosumar's starting strikers are a very young bunch this year and Na'Safeh will need to really show his maturity in order to be a fitting replacement for the now-retired Luke Crisalus - the anchor of the Dragons' attack for the past 4 World Cups.



The Reserves

GK Blinne VA'TUARAS (30)
Va'Tuaras is one of Cosumar's most iconic goalkeepers: his enormous frame, trademark mohawk hairstyle and wild antics earning his fan favorite status. But underneath the flamboyance, Va'Taurus is a fine goalkeeper and has led Klyde FC to multiple Globe Cups. He has great instincts and is a tested backup in the event that young (albeit more talented) Koskinen breaks down. He is the second of two Vloo members on the team.

DF Phillip O'HAIR (29)
"Red-Head O'Hair", as he's known in Cosumar, has been a consistent defender in the FSF for a few years now and has been selected to the National Team for the second time. He lacks elite speed and agility, but has fantastic ball-handling skills, a catapult for a leg, and rarely makes mistakes. He will be a reliable backup useful when a pair of fresh legs or experience are needed.

DF Abdiel ASSAD (25)
Hailing from a poverty-stricken community in the rugged, mountainous land of southeast Cosumar, where soccer is practically nonexistant, Assad has defied all odds to emerge as one of Cosumar's finest defencemen. Two years ago, he had a breakout season with Eastweald to help them recapture their former glory and qualify for the TakilQuip Champions Cup. He has since established himself as one of the FSF's most prominent stars at the position. He is also the first man of Arab descent to play on the Cosumarite national team. He is a jack-of-all-trades with no real weakness other than a lack of elite speed. He is in his prime and should give a huge boost to Cosumar's depleted reserves.

DF Jukka LINDROOS (18)
Lindroos is the latest Cosumarite teen to be hyped by the media as the next great star. He recently completed his senior year in high school and will attend Slivelle Academy on a soccer scholarship after the conclusion of the World Cup. His boyish face and long, golden locks have charmed the media, but do not be fooled, he is a ruthless player on the field. he may not be as skilled and experienced as his elders on the team yet, but he is extremely quick and brings a lot of energy whenever he steps on the field. He will probably not play much in this World Cup, but it will be a valuable experience for him. FSF scouts will definitely be watching.

MF Paaron PETROV (23)
A citizen of Fevelo that was born in Cosumar, plays in the Fevelian domestic system. Though he plays in a vastly inferior league, Paaron Petrov dominates in Fevelo even at the young age of 23. He was able to bypass several top Cosumarite midfielders to make the squad of the National Team. Feisty and resourceful, Petrov is an asset when it comes to setting up the big play. He is known for his remarkable ability to score from midfield, a shot he practices daily.

MF Maynard QUISSIMORE (27)

ST Corey SIMMONS (31)
This will be Simmons' third World Cup (after an impressive World Cup 57 as a reserve). He has been Kaldukosk FC's leading scorer for 6 seasons and has quickly become one of the most feared strikers on the Cosumarite squad. He has been criticized for being a detriment to the team's locker room atmosphere at times, but his lightning-quick speed and brute force are elite. In a shocking decision, he was demoted to a reserve position for this World Cup to make room for rising star Sur Arora, despite excallent performances in the previous two World Cups and being the second-leading scorer in WC59. He will play frequently though and can still be a dangerous weapon coming off the bench.

ST Thomas TEVERRIDGE (27)
Teverridge is the leading goal scorer for the FSF's Samaj FC and has long been a vastly underrated player in Cosumar due to his tenure with a relatively obscure club in a remote area of Cosumar. However, Teverridge has quietly been one of the most productive players in the upper flight of the FSF and is finally beginning to reap the rewards of his hard work, including finally earning a spot on the National Team after being denied twice. Teverridge loves to snake his way through opposing defenses and is a sly player, with a knack for breaking through creases and getting 1 on 1 shots in a heartbeat. He is also a corner kick specialist.

ST Anders ENGSTRÖM (17)

Coaching Staff and Team Captains

Manager: Farris Crowley

After a phenomenal debut as Manager in World Cup 54, and an even more impressive efforts in World Cups 56-59, Farris Crowley will return to lead the Dragons towards greatness in World Cup 61. Crowley was a somewhat successful player in Cosumar's domestic league many years ago and has since taken to coaching. His goal is absolute: win a World Cup. He is currently 56 years of age and has a very stoic personality most of the time.

Assistant Manager: Truda Jotunnoj

This is Jotunnoj's second World Cup as Assistant Manager, replacing Bernard Hotheryo, who took the position for World Cups 58 and 59. Jottunoj recently coached for Cosumar in the 35th & 36th AOCAF. Jottunoj has been a successful Manager for Cosumarite Sekundar Ligan club Treftadaethfor 12 years. Jotunnoj is 44 years old.

Cosumar's uniforms for World Cup 61, made for the team by Barrengeka Kits of Astograth. The uniform has been applauded by fans and the media, featuring Cosumar's national colors: silver and navy blue as well as the Cosumarite Azure Dragon, the symbol of Cosumar. The keeper's uniform is gold and green, the royal family's colors. They are the same kits the team used in World Cups 56-60.

The Sacred game of Nohanga was played widely in Wild Isle before connection to the Pakeha, or the world beyond Wild Isle. This Tohunga game was closely related to football, but more physical. Two terrified missionaries explained that the Taparuamotueuns could modify their Nohanga game. Only after the two Salcharians were tied to a wooden pole and seasoned with strong smelling glatchy-grass, only then did the tribe understand.

With the help of the missionaries, the Taparuamotueuns sent in their applacation for the world cup. The few months after that was the skills competition that would determine the Wild Isle national team. The chief chose his men and started up team practices, but the missionaries soon realized that the members of the team were only good for stabbing opponents with a sharp spear. The Salcharians explained the problem to the chief, but instead of the Chief calling a meeting of elders, he just laughed and told the missionaries to find the players themselves.

So after a few more months of tramping through the Wild Isle forest, in search of migrating tribes, here is what they came out with:

(S-Starter)

Goalkeepers
A-S

A is a wood-hard goalkeeper for Wild Isle (rocks are scarce where A lives). His sprawling on the ground tactics are unpredictable and can fool any shooting opponent. A belongs to the Hakamakoonga tribe where he does heavy duty chores like lifting logs.



Kuaharakai

If A cant get the job done in net, then Kuaharakai will. Kuaharakai is the number one penalty shot blocker in the Taparuamotu league. Kuaharakai is good freinds with defenseman, Kakauru. Both belong to the Ruaonemotunga tribe.



Defensemen

Kai

Kai is a developing defensman. Only at the age of eighteen, Kai is usually on the sideline, cheering his teammates on. Kai was a sucsessful goalscorer for Itimaungamanga (which finished last in the Taparuamotu league). Kai trains daily for a chance to make an impact for Taparuamotu.



Kakauru-S

Karauru is any goalies favorite defenseman. Karauru plays on Ruatonemotunga along with goalkeeper, Kuaharakai. During corners, Kakauru will play by either the far or near posts in order to defend the goal. If he sees a goalie in distress, he will be the first one there.



Haku-S

Haku is a veteran defenseman. He was one of the founding fathers of football in Wild Isle.Along with Midfielder, Harau, Haku travels with the chief and assists him in international buisness or Pakeha. Haku was raised with the Awamoanatai tribe.



Upaoupa-S

Upaoupa does not really trust the game of football, he does not respect it, instead he just plays it. Upaoupa was only drafted on the team due to his amazing hand-eye coordanation and his ability to terrify the opponents fowards. Upaoupa is the guard for the Hakamakoonga tribe.



Midfielders
Harau-S

Harau is a starting midfielder for Taparuamotu. Harau's "I dont care how, but this ball is going into this net" style of play has gotten him into lots of trouble. In the Taparuamotu laegue, Harau was the most leaved (carded) player for Terangiwhennua. He volunteers as the village guard and as the chief's "muscle"



Karu-S

Brother of Auru, Karu completes any right sideline play. From his super juking skills to his halarious sense of humor, Karu is a must-have for any succsessful team. Both the national team and the tribe of Kiwinuianga have the "two brothers", Auru and Karu.



Kuakai-S

Kuakai is a well rounded midfielder for Taparuamotu. Kuakai can rush up the field and drill a few shots, then rush back to assist his defense. Kuakai is the leader in assists for Terangiwhenua. When he is not playing Tapwhenga (football), Kuakai is enjoying the Taparuamotueun wildlife.



Nupa-S

Nupa is a speedy midfielder. When he has the ball, you expect him to drive to the net. His speed is his only weapon. Nupa lacks in shooting and passindg skills. Nupa belongs to the Nuikohatuana tribe where he runs footraces.



Uakai

Uakai is the first half to the defensive midfielders. Along with Urukai, Uakai plays a bit behind the other midfielders. Uakai and Urukai work together like clockwork, some say the work better then the "two brothers". Uakai belongs to the Nuikohatuana tribe.



Urukai

Urukai is the second half to the defensive midfielders. Assisting Uakai, Urukai is an amazing partner to the other midfielders and defense. Urukai belong to the Nuikohatuana tribe along with Uakai.



Fowards
Auru-S

Auru is seen mostly streaking down the right sideline, either with the ball or chasing it. Auru is a right foward and a top goalscorer. Auru plays for the Kiwinuianga tribe along with his brother, Karu.



Moamu-S

Moamu is another foward and another top goalscorer for Taparuamotu. He is known for his creative ways of shooting the ball. Moamu plays for the Hakamaoonga tribe where he performed a perfect oonga (bycicle kick).



Noa

Noa has the most goals in the nation of Wild Isle. Noa loves watching the ball strike his foot and then land in the goal. Awamoanatai has won both the cup and the league thanks to Noa.



Ruramoutuawhengakai (Rura)-S

Ruramoutuawhengakai is the only one on the team to not shorten his name for the foriegners (A is an exception, he was born with an unique name). Ruramoutuawhengakai ha great leadership and is the captain of the national team and the Awamoanatai tribe.



Wua

Wua is the center field substitute, Wua usually replaces the captain, Ruramoutuawhengakai. Widely known for his skill at the Haka (a tribal war dance), Wua and his tribemates from Ruaonemotunga will perform a Haka when Wua scores.



Coaches
Assistant coach- Pua'o

Pua'o is not only the Taparuamotu assistant coach, but he is also the team philosopher. Pua'o knows every single Taparuamotu legend, and when the team is upset he will tell them a happy little tale.



Assistant coach- Wheoa

Wheoa hide behind his mask and never speaks, instead as the opponents run by he makes animal sounds and crawls on all fours, attempting to scare the opponent. Not once has Wheoa showed his face to anybody except the Taparuamotueuns.



Head coach- Rhenga

Rhenga is an odd head coach, Rhenga does not waste his time odering the players around, instead, he sits on the bench, deep in thought. Rhenga thinks about the outcome of the game, but not about the tournament, instead he thinks about how it will affect the Taparuamotu gods.

It's important to note that the team itself generally doesn't consciously defend. They press high up the pitch though and try to win the ball back as quickly as possible.

They will slow down when ahead later in the game, but only so they don't unnecessarily provide opportunities to lose possession and/or concede. This doesn't mean they wont take the opportunity to score if it presents itself, though...

Something that is important to know is that football isnt the number on sport in Osarius. Its second, to GraviBall.
Footballers are loved if they make tough tackles -- case in point, Connor McCarthy; and before him, Georgina Carsley -- because the combative nature of the game is what the fans like. Very passionate, are Osarian fans, you see.
Sooo... basically, if you're not scoring goals or making crunching tackles, the fans aren't impressed. That goes for opponents too... Osarian fans always appreciate a good tackle, so they will even applaud opposition players at times (although they will boo their goals, obvs).

From time to time I'll make reference to the area a player is from, and when I do, I will try to add an OOC note to explain what it means, because different regions of Osarius have almost entirely different cultures. For example, Tubrissian people's habits and sayings are heavily based on Phoenician/Carthaginian culture and religious beliefs.

Manager: Amandeep Sahota
After leading Hastmead Diamante from the Royal League to the King's League title, on the backs of young players and an adventurous attacking philosophy, Amandeep Sahota effectively made himself one of the most highly regarded coaches in Osarian football history. His staunch attitude toward his personal coaching philosophy earned him a lot of critics at Hastmead at times, but they did work to a degree. His propensity for attacking football will excite the fans, and though he isn't as cerebral as his predecessor, his raw enthusiasm might be infectious, reigniting a flame many fear is dying among the Osarian fanbase. Sahota's tendency toward having his team "playing from the back" falls in line with Montblanc's foundations, and means that the team will have to make little adjustment to carry out his plans. Expect to see a lot more emphasis placed on one of the central "holding" midfielders, though. Sahota tends to deploy one as a deep-lying playmaker, forgoing the presence of a traditional playmaker in the Alessandro di Corradi mould a lot of the time. He also has a great love of wide forwards and wingers, as he prefers a flexible frontline capable of attacking from all sides. A run to the final of AOCAF Cup 36 has cemented Sahota's position and earned him the manager's role on a permanent basis. He'll be looking forward to a reunion with several of the players he selected for the Olympics four years ago.

Assistant Manager: Ishmael Walker
Though many in Osarius baulked at the idea, Walker has done enough in his short career to impress Amandeep Sahota, who specifically requested his assistance. Walker's ill-fated tenure in charge of the Flying Sparks -- who had carved out a fairly strong reputation under Alain Montblanc -- was heavily criticised, perhaps unfairly. Sahota however, acknowledges Walker's work behind the scenes at the National Academy, and feels that Walker's skill set may simply not be suited to the spotlight of a managerial role.

Coaches: Maurice Simmons, Jeffrey Allen, Gerald Cole
Simmons, Allen and Cole are all highly-regarded coaches within Osarian football, who attained their Professional Coaching licenses at the same time as previous manager Alain Montblanc. Sahota worked alongside them at the Olympics a while back, and has a good working relationship with all three. They all offer traits often cited as being required in elite coaches, and enjoy a strong rapport with the players, which has contributed heavily to Sahota's decision to retain their services.

Specialist Coaches: Onyibo Oduoza (goalkeeping), Claudio Traga (fitness)
Oduoza once trained under the now-legendary Enzo Corradini at Hollybrent, and is credited with turning Orlando Florian into the legendary keeper he became. A cerebral man, Oduoza sometimes employs strange methods to bring out the best in his charges, and to develop vital skills. Few can argue with his results, however. Traga, on the other hand, is perhaps best known among sports fans back home for his past career as a Boxer. Upon retirement, Traga's love of sport led him to study sports science at Utica University, where he learnt to combine his boxing experience with science know-how to develop fitness regimes for professional sportsmen (and women). His system, The Lightstrike Method, is used in most professional sports clubs in Osarius as a major part of training, particularly during the off-season.

Medical Staff: Daniel Chambers (physiotherapist), Dr. Sarah Bocchetti (team doctor)
Chambers and Bocchetti are also old friends of the former manager, Benedict di Corradi, but their stock within the OFA is high. Both have excellent reputations among the players, too, making them invaluable members of the backroom staff.

5, Rightback: Ethan Dunlap (Human - Male) - Dunlap is renowned and respected among his fellow professionals for his tireless work ethic and attitude towards the game. 13, Left Defensive Midfield: Daniel Saegerson (Human - Male) - Known for his integral role in his club, Cohina FC (Foutbel Club) in helping them win the FA Cup, Saegerson has great vision and his distribution skills are one of of the best, which have helped set up quite a few goals in his experiences playing for both his club and the national team.

He is also by far the youngest member of the squad, even for a team that has no players above the age of 29.

18, Goalkeeper: Orange Cider (Earth Pony - Male) - The starting goalkeeper for Silverwich City, Orange Cider is known for his easygoing attitude, being the "joker" of the squad, and also his reliability in goal and is a more-than-capable replacement for Matthew Peterson.
22, Leftback: Jacob Akordiance (Human - Male) - Solid and dependable in defense, Akordiance is a starter for Moonich City and has more than once saved his club when they were exposed, running back to cover and also clearing off the lines.
12, Centerback: Road Rage (Earth Pony - Male) - Road Rage is renowned for his discipline in defense and his strong but fair tackles. Although he was lacking match fitness due to injury for much of the regular season, he recovered just in time for the tournament and is a vice-captain for the team.
17, Left Wing/Midfielder: Fred Watson (Human - Male) - Watson is undoubtedly the fastest member of the squad, reaching speeds of up to 32 kilometers per hour during his sprints down the flanks. He is one of the youngest players on the squad, at the age of 20 years and 3 months and he is one of the best dribblers on the team. However, he has sometimes been criticized for spending too much time on the ball and has been chastised by Blue Thunder for it. He plays for Patriarch FC.
19, Center Midfielder: Thunder Storm (Unicorn - Male) - Thunder Storm is known for his bursts of excellence but also for his inconsistency. At his best, his displays in midfield are dazzling but at worst he is awfully unproductive and even detrimental towards the team's performance as a whole, which is why he spends most of the time on the bench. However, due to his unripe age and him being one of the three youngsters on the squad (Steamroller, Watson, and himself), he is expected to develop into a great midfielder.
23, Striker/Center Forward: Colin Manning (Human - Male) - Manning is one of the oldest and most experienced members of the squad. He is a consistent starter for Cohina FC and is known for his ability to hold up the penalty box and is good at scoring from set pieces, and is the other vice captain of the squad.
11, Center Attacking/Center Midfielder: Blizzard Edinsborough (Earth Pony - Male) - This midfielder is known for his cool personality and his calm in the storm. He is unwavering in the face of pressure and is not afraid to take on stronger players, albeit his diminutive size. He has a human last name due to him being adopted by a human couple, Tony and Mary Edinsborough.
21, Center Forward: Sugar Rush (Earth Pony - Male) - His name fits his work ethic as Sugar Rush can be found all over the pitch during a match. He has endless reserves of energy and this forward uses this to his advantage as he often pops up in the right areas likes to play a very physical game, often going after headers and challenging the opposing centerbacks.
26, Rightback: Jeremy Hunslaar (Human - Male) - The younger twin brother of Benjamin Hunslaar, this fullback is the exact opposite of his sibling in terms of playing style, personality and position. In contrast to his brother, Jeremy is known for his quiet and humble personality and his tendency to be reserved in matches and sitting back in defense. However, his commitment to the game is unwavering and he is respected by his teammates for this.

Home Stadiums (WIP):

Permafrost Arena (cap. 85,000) - The home stadium of of Cohina FC, this resembles a crystal ball at night, a definite landmark of the city. Two huge screens outside the arena provide live coverage of the national team during international friendlies or tournaments and is often a source of hundreds of thousands of supporters watching.

OOC: For fair RP bonus attribution, most of the characters included on this roster are from the Doctor Who TV Series (and from a couple of Dr. Who books) and are either real, as in play a part in the series, or just random variations but from the species listed in Dr. Who. Some names will come from the members' list of this thread. For more background info, most of the species should be found on Wikipedia; except for Lazarus, for which you need to search for 'The Lazarus Experiment'. For the Raxacoricofallapatorians, search Slitheen. For Silurian, see 'Cold Blood' or 'The Hungry Earth' (followed by Doctor Who if necessary). For Rory, search 'The Pandorica Opens'.

Manager: Rassilon (Species: Time Lord; the first Lord President of Gallifrey, Rassilon created the Eye of Harmony, which gave the Time Lords their time travelling ability. All in all, he became the foundation of Gallifrey, although that may all be just public relations. He had discovered the secret to immortality, but was deposed by rebellious Time Lords, before going into an eternal sleep in the Tomb of Rassilon, located in the Death Zone. Late on in the Time War, he was seemingly brought back to direct the war efforts, but as he was willing to destroy the Time Vortex and thus the whole of creation [in the Whoniverse, if not all universes], to win the Time War, the Doctor time-locked him and the whole of Gallifrey.)
Assistant Manager: Adam Loftus (Normal human; returns to the national team after a break of a few World Cups, but has basically been the behind the many managers there have been since the creation of the team back in World Cup 49 [OOC: a bit like Stuart Pearce of England].)
Coach: Sameer Ahmad (Normal human, aged 44; is the older brother of Shabeen, and also has one of the higher goal counts, but has been much eclipsed by his brother's success.)
Coach and Team blogger:Shabeen Ahmad III (Normal Human, aged 42; has scored over 200 goals for the EL national team, and is still an inspiration to everyone, nearly taking the team to the playoffs in World Cup 58, which has his first foray into full management.)

This team were all taken out of their respective time-lines by Time Scoop technology, so where some may be dead by this time, they are alive at this point in space-time. And it was the ELFA who did this, with the help of its inventor, Rassilon.

Goalkeepers:

Blon Fel-Fotch Pasameer-Day Slitheen: Species: Raxacoricofallapatorian (family: Slitheen); refer to as Blon. Was caught impersonating MI5's Margaret Blaine in 2005 (Earth time), where she and her family members were planning to instigate World War III and turn the planet into fissile material, ready to sell. With the plan destroyed by a well-timed Harpoon missile, she managed to escape, but was the only one. She then went on to become Mayor of Cardiff, using a nuclear plant and the Cardiff Rift to attempt to escape. She did, but in doing so regressed into an egg, and was delivered to the hatcheries on Raxacoricofallpatorius for a second chance at life.

The Abzorbaloff: Species: Unknown, but related to Raxacoricofallapatorians (albeit despising them); Originating from Raxacoricofallapatorius' twin planet, Clom, this particular one came to Earth and tricked a group of humans who were searching for the Doctor to join him, but eventually absorbing them all to satisfy his hunger.

Outfielders (Basically, this lot can play anywhere on the pitch apart from in goal):

Strax: He was a Commander for the Sontaran Military, but was disgraced for an unknown reason, and then was forced to become a nurse by the Doctor, to settle a debt.

Reaper: Species: Reaper; Flying bat-like creatures with scythe-like tails, the Reapers are extradimensional beings, who have the ability to materialise in normal spacetime when a paradox occurs, devouring everything in the area to repair the damage. They can be stopped by material barriers, the older the better, but not permanently, and a paradox on the other side of the barrier will let them through quicker.

Madame Vastra: species: Silurian; Is another of the people who the Doctor a debt, in this case, it is for saving her from a life of crime and hiding out in the early London underground, and she in turn became a detective.

Creet: species: Toclofane/Human (from the year 100 trillion and reduced to live inside metal balls); With the universe on the brink of ending, a group of humans were building a means of escape to "Utopia". With the help of the Doctor, they managed to do so, but only found darkness, and then they cannibalised themselves into this shape. This particular one was a young boy who worked in the sanctuary.

The Doctor: species: Time Lord, age: 1103 (although he doesn't really know himself). Words cannot describe this man's life, but as for football, he's had "plenty" of experience, having played a match for the King's Arm Pub League Football team and scoring more than two hat-tricks in that single match (and then World Cup 59 with the associated Cup of Harmony). Plays mainly up front.

Captain Jack Harkness: species: unknown (very humanoid though); Jack grew up on the Boeshane Peninsula as a kid and joined the Time Agency, but quit after a few years, becoming a con man with a Vortex Manipulator (basic time travel). After meeting the Doctor during the Blitz, Jack dies on Satellite 5 in the year 200,000, but is then brought back to life by the Time Vortex, effectively becoming immortal.

Rory the Plastic Centurion: species: Auton, created by the Nestene Consciousness; refer to as Rory; Dressed up in full Roman armour, Rory has had a miserable past, one that has included being killed, followed shortly after by not being born, followed by becoming a plastic duplicate with a full human consciousness. However, he is rather hardened by all this, and also has a gun in his right hand which he won't use, but will still throw himself into anything nothing less than fully committed.

Raston Warrior Robot: species: None, it is a machine; This robot has been called 'the most perfect killing machine ever devised', being able to move faster than lightning and to kill a troop of Cybermen in seconds. Its face is featureless, and its weapons are collapsible and miniaturizable, and so concealed. For the purposes of this campaign, its weapons have been remotely disarmed, but it still moves faster than normal humans can see.

Pyrovile: species Pyrovile; A humanoid being made of pure magma and volcanic rock, Pyroviles are vicious (albeit quite slow), not to mention being about 5 times the height of average humans when fully grown. Pyroviles originated from the planet Pyrovilia, but crash landed on Earth after their home was lost. They grew in the bowels of Mount Vesuvius, giving some of the locals the power of soothsaying. They planned to convert the entire human race to Pyroviles, and in turn create a new Pyrovilia.

Jenny: species: Human/Time Lord hybrid; The Doctor was taken by the TARDIS to Messaline, where a war was raging between humans and fish-like humanoids called Hath. The Doctor then had his hand put into a progenation machine, used to produce clones for the war, and out came Jenny. She was later on killed by a commander who refused to accept the ceasefire, but then came back to life, having died in the presence of a terraforming device. She was last seen blasting off in the rocket, looking for adventure, and now she's here.

Modified Weeping Angel: species: Weeping Angel; modifications: only becomes a statue when opposition player with the ball is looking at it; No information known as of yet.

Professor Lazarus: Species: Severely mutated human (completely not humanoid at times), refer to as Lazarus; Professor Lazarus was eighty-odd years old, but invented a machine which could manipulate a person's DNA and make them younger. The first demonstration nearly catastrophically fails, but Lazarus emerges much younger. However, his DNA was since found to be unstable, and it showed when Lazarus changed into a scorpion-like creature that drained the life energy of other humans in order to keep him young.

Dalek Sec: Species: Human Dalek (Dalek that has taken on a humanoid form); After the Battle of Canary Wharf, the Cult of Skaro, now armed with the knowledge that they were the last Daleks in existence, escaped to 1930's New York, where they planned to recreate themselves in a humanoid form, by merging symbiotically with kidnapped humans deemed to be of superior intelligence. The leader of the cult, Dalek Sec, was the first to do so, merging with the businessman behind the building of the Empire State Building to form a Human Dalek. The remaining pure Daleks stopped the program upon seeing a Sec having emotions.

Silent: species: The Silence; The Silence is a religious order that believes that Silence will fall when the first question, the oldest question in the universe, is put to the Doctor, on the fields of Trenzelor, where no living creature can speak falsely or fail to answer. They attempted to bring down the Doctor through an abducted part Time Lord child (no relation to the Doctor), and kill him in a still point, thus creating a fixed point. But they failed.

Captain Tybo: Species: Judoon; refer to as Tybo; Is a Juddoon captain who crashed on Earth whilst transporting the Juddoon's most wanted criminal, Androvax the Destroyer, wanted for 12 counts of planetary destruction.

Vashta Nerada swarm: species: Vashta Nerada; The are microscopic organisms, which when swarming are completely indistinguishable from shadows, and being highly carnivorous, this plays into their hands. These Vashta Nerada number about 3,000,000, but are compacted into a humanoid form, for fairness. They are also probably vegetarian, but don't take the risk, otherwise you will die.

The national stadium of Eastfield Lodge since it was built not too long ago, it was built on the ruins of the old Lodger City, the former capital of Eastfield Lodge which was completely devastated by a nuclear disaster and floods within minutes of each other. It stands as a symbol of a new life, now even more prevalent after a horrible civil war and what not. But the new city has now become the footballing capital of Eastfield Lodge after some of the biggest teams moved in after Dillvill declared independence.

22- Bai'a KITA
Height: 183cm - Weight: 79kg – Age: 30 years old - Team: FC Mando
A goalkeeper who is known for having a short attention span, Kita is the epitomy of a Mandalorian goalkeeper: Known for taking excessive risks, bum-rushing an opponent to make a distant steal and playing on the rim of the box, Kita is a gamble in any game he appears in. Perhaps that is why he is the second goalkeeper for the Bisons; maybe why he is a member of FC Mando too...

While his form is less chisled than Nishimura, Kita enjoys a great camradiere with many of his teammates; something the older starter seems to lack; perhaps it is an age difference, perhaps it is cultural. However, whatever it is, when in the net, Kita is able to almost control the game with shouts in Mando'a and giant hand signals. After making the move from back-up goalkeeper to the starting in the 50th Cup of Harmony, Kita continues to mature and distance himself and his style from that of his predecessor, Nishimura Kenshin.

The second-oldest player on the team, Nishimura may also be the most agile. A top-form goalkeeper in his last ten seasons with RC United, Nishimura has established himself as the 'veteran' on a team which will be making its fourth World Cup appearance.

Unfortunately for Nishimura, he has reached a wall in his career; a wall he cannot surmount. Due to this invisible wall, Bai’a Kita has replaced the veteran as starting goalkeeper for the team, and as such, has seen Nishimura brought in only when Kita is unable to recover and make those critical saves; or when the team needs the veteran experience to conquer a stronger foe.

A big defender with the skills to back up his talk, Miyamoto Kaoru is an impressive specimen of a defender. Playing for arguably one of the best teams in the RPFL has hardened this man into an imposing wall of strength on the backfield. Prepare to see plenty of tackles, shoves and general rough play from a man who grew up playing meshgeroya; an Avatarian variation of football also known as 'limmie' or 'bolo-ball'.

Much like Miyamoto, Akiyama is a no-nonsense player. He has no problem laying an opponent out for a fowl, and as such as earned the most red cards in a single season by any player in the Modern Era (12) as well as garnishing multiple suspensions. He is a rough player who pairs perfectly with Miyamoto and the two have earned the moniker, ”The Dueling Mandos” by the media.

A young player who was drafted four seasons ago to the Premier Cup champions RC United, Zhang is still a young player with much to learn from his teammates. While he lacks the size of Akiyama and Miyamoto, he most certainly does not lack on the heart: During practice skirmishes, Zhang is often found opposite Miyamoto and has thrown himself full-force into the 'Mando Mauler', only to receive a week-ending injury as a parting gift.

5- KIM Dong Su
Height: 178cm - Weight: 75kg – Age: 27 years old - Team: Ba Sing Se UNITED
Not a highly-rated player for the Bison defence, however, Kim has shown himself to be a surprise in many a games; a fine defensive player, Kim is also a very good option for the full-back position when results are needed. He supports the offence well, with very strong passing and marking skills.

Outside the stadium, Kim is the morale of the team. Often telling jokes and giving out care packages, he is loved by the fans and by the media for his often-spirited antics and interviews

15- WONG Haru
Height: 185cm - Weight: 83kg – Age: 21 years old - Team: University of Kibago

Given his size, one would expect Wong to have a style of play more similar to Fujimoto. However, growing up playing in the offensive-orientated Earth Kingdom's LEAGUE ROYALE shaped Wong into a speed-demon in the body of a tank. He is quick to run, able to outpace many of his teammates and overtake many of his opponents. His endurance is bar-none the best of the team, which Coach Vhett attributes to his genes; the son of a clone trooper with the Avatarian Republics' Mandalorian Corps, Wong shares similar genetics to several other players as well as Vhett himself.

Set to graduate at the end of this World Cup, Wong is still undecided as to what team he wishes to play for. As of now, the top three teams involved in the selection are FC Mando, Southern AFC, and even RC United. Ideally, Wong would stay in the Mandalorian regions and move to FC Mando in the northern provinces.... but you never know how trades work out.

6- FUJIMOTO Zhong
Height: 175cm - Weight: 70kg – Age: 28 years old - Team: RC United
Extremely fast given his size, Fujimoto is a full-back more focused on the offence, and can have some minor difficulties when tasked with defence. Able to quickly counter any attack placed before him, Fujimoto serves as a valuable link between the offence and the defence. An excellent sniper, Fujimoto is one of the best free-kickers on the team, being able to take pieces with either pure technique, pure strength or a combination of the two; exceeding in both styles is a rare form in Avatarian football.

However, every gem has its imperfection and for Fujimoto, it is discipline. With such natural talent coming easy, Fujimoto has yet to truly have to work to exceed: Rather, he naturally falls into the game and succeeds at almost everything he does. However, with the years passing and Fujimoto gaining wisdom in his age, discipline is slowly coming to him.

13- BAO Yiyong

While certainly not the oldest player in the defence, Bao serves to give a bit of balance between the youth beneath him and the seniority above him. Following a recent trade from Kuruk FC to Southern AC, Bao has found a new obsession in the form of his new teammates. Yet, he still has a tendency to indulge in a little too much liquor and little too many loose women.

While still not as strong as Kobayashi, Bao did appear in as many games as his counterpart due to WC60’s experiment in formations. However, with the Bisons returning to the familiar 4-4-2, Bao finds himself yet again on the alternate list.

The veteran of the Defenders, Kobayashi is a mixture of strength, speed, techicality and violence. He is strong for his size, though the restraint he shows upon merging on an attacker is admirable. He is a bit of a 'bully', often provoking his opponent to the point of breaking just for the fun of it all.

23- XU Lingbo

One of the more youth players on the team, Xu has fallen under the tutelage of Kobayashi, so much that the two right defenders room together on every road trip, visit one another during bye weeks and , when Xu was a student at RCSU, Kobayashi --- an Alumni of RCSU --- would constantly visit Xu to help him with his skills.

This tutelage has resulted in the shifting of Xu's skill-set, from more of a reserved full-back to a matured one, capable of running with his opponent, stealing the ball quick and passing it off up-pitch even faster. After being drafted out of college into Republic FC, a Taap-B team in the RPFL, Xu has continued to develop and will one day become a fine defender...

7- MAKI Li

A veteran of the Grand Army of the Republic, Maki was shot with an assault rifle during a border dispute with the Charicific Valley which tore his left shoulder to shreds. Six months of physical therapy resulted in his retirement, however, Maki had a great passion in football; luckily for him, you don't need to use your arms in football. At 23, he was drafted by Ba Sing Se as a defensive midfielder and within the first six months of play, he established himself as a premier player. Being a veteran, he is often found with the other 'military players' on the team, notably Kad'e Tay'haai, Kotyc'e Bralor and Wong Haru. A result of his training, Maki is a very serious player, whose morale is spot-on and dedication to the team is second only to Vhett himself; this leads to him being liked a little less than most players, but since when has football been a popularity contest?

In Keldabe, Bralor makes for a perfect pair with Tay'haai: While Bralor serves as the connection from the defence to the attack, Tay'haai gives the sniping skills of a well-honed soldier. Quick on his feet and agile in mind, Bralor is just starting on his historic career...

Just as his partner on the midfield defence, Bralor is military veteran. His father is a General within the Grand Army of the Republic and Bralor is currently on Sportsmanship Leave from his own military life as a Sergeant, First Class in the GAR. Having the rigors of combat beaten into him since the beginning of his adult life, Bralor knows full well the pay-off for hard work, well-refined skills and dedication.

A player like Tran is one you would hardly notice. He rarely makes a goal, never drives it to the net and doesn't play a very show-boating game. Instead, he is a hard-working midfielder, who focuses his time on setting up the offence for a great pass, a well-positioned switch or the decisive tackle to change the momentum in the game. Ranked as the second-best player on FC Mando, Tran has worked hard to get to the National Team, so expect to see him alternate to relieve Bralor or Maki in the late games.

18- TSUKINO Hachiro

Extremely technical for a player his age, Tsukino is definitely an up-and-coming player within the Avatarian league system.

Selected by Sparta FC, a Série A football club in Cotdelapoms, after a terrific performance in World Cup 57, Tsukino has continued to flourish there. He received his Bachelors of Science in Biomolecular Engineering with a Minor in Physics from Accord, a premier Science and Arts University in Albionpool, Cotdelapoms just after the completion of the Cup of Harmony, so his future in Cotdelapoms is uncertain. With teams from home and Erathore competing for the talented midfielder, he could go anywhere in the future.

8- Pre KRYSE

The Golden Star of Gyatso-kaian football, Kryse has shocked the nation twice in his career. First, predicted to reach the National Level at 21, Kryse came onto the pitch at 19 wearing the national kit; this was such a feat that a new set of laws were passed to allow players younger than 21 to play with the Bisons as opposed to just travelling. Second, after World Cup 58, Kryse was sought out by FC Mildred, a Seria-A team in the Kingdom of Erathore. He quickly signed a contract with the team, despite suffering a concussion in Group Stage Play.

His footballing style is very offensive, working as the last link between the midfield and the offence; Kryse has been known to even advance from the midfield to score some key goals in pivotal games. He has a powerful long shot and is exceptional at heading, both of which are aided by his height. However, as skilled as he is in offense, Kryse still prefers to pass the ball up to forwards for an assist in a goal as opposed to being the star player.

A very creative midfielder, Ngo is not known for his consistency: One day, Ngo may get a couple assists and even a goal while keeping the opponent at bay, when on others, he could barely get a foot on the ball; many in the league attribute this to Ngo's service in the Republic Marines and as such, he has been seeing psychiatrists for these issues. A bit of a clown, on those days he is well-inspired, Ngo will often perform many an antic when a goal is scored, thus earning him the love of the fans. On those days less-inspired, Ngo will hardly shuffle through the pitch, tending to gaze at his feet instead of ahead...

14- HIMURA Katsu

Relatively young when compared to his teammates, Himura has not had a promising start to his career, both at home and abroad. Given his still-developing skills in midfield, his is seen as a comparatively weak player and often spends more time with the coaching staff than other more-seasoned players. In his third season out of college with the Northern AFC, Himura is a technical player by nature whose greatest asset is not in his aim or power, but in the art of dribbling which he uses at every opportunity. While more prone to provide assists on plays as opposed to goals, Himura caught Vhett off-guard when he was brought on the pitch to replace an injured Pre Kryse, and managed to score his first goal of his career.

9- WAKAHISA Hikaru
Height: 189cm - Weight: 86kg – Age: 28 years old - Team: FC Beijing
A great player who is the star of FC Beijing, Wakahisa is a world of contradiction. While he gets along swimmingly with his teammates and has the technical form of a football-playing robot, his morale leaves something to desire; a defeatist by nature, whenever the going gets a little too tough, Wakahisa will start to crack. It is this attitude which sees Wakahisa often removed from the pitch and replaced by the younger A’den Skirata.

Given his size, he makes for an impressive target for midfielders; coupled with his physical strength and accuracy, there is very little the defence can do should Wakahisa break through. Many a times a defender has gone for a tackle, only to have the 86-kilo Wakahisa just steam roll him. Tay’haai comes from a sports-centric family; with his father a coach in the AHL, his brother a member of the National Ice Bisons and his mother the coach of the women’s national football team, fans and critics have come to expect nothing but greatness from Tay’haai. Certainly they have not been mislead, with Tay’haai has become known as ‘The Next One’ following the retirement of VId’a Ambeck eight years ago. When on the pitch, he plays almost effortlessly, dodging defenders as if they were standing still, sniping balls past nets which might as well have been empty and being the media’s favourite player.

He strives for perfection in every session and he knows too well the wrath of Vhett when he does not perform well. In his personal life, he is a staunch supporter of the military, given his family’s history with the GAR; his grandfather was one of the first training sergeants of the GAR’s clone-based military nearly 80 years ago and ever since, Tay’haai donates portions of his salary to charities which support the GAR. During an impressive appearance at the BoF, Tay'haai was able to score an astonishing nine goals; even earning his first international hat trick in the game against Greater Coventry. In the ensuing world cup, Tay’haai earned eleven goals, followed by seven more in the Fifth Market Cup, then ten more in the next World Cup. It seems as if nothing can stop the Next One...

So well in fact, there have been talks of pushing Wakahisa to the alternate corps...

Probably the biggest surprise player on the Avatarian team, Pham never made any headlines until his first international cap last season as an alternate; brought in during the final ten minutes of play, Pham was able to make an impressive three goals within that time frame, blind-siding the Gaoling Boars in a 4-1 game. A well-seasoned pivot man, Pham is not known for his endurance, however, his ability to read the pitch and place himself ahead of a ball to bring in an attempt --- even if the pass is terrible --- through his excellent ball-handling skills.

Vhett first coached for FC Mando --- his former team ---, in which he saw the reformation of the team into a competitive threat before a sudden transfer to Keldabe FC, where he has been the manager for the last seven seasons; bringing with him three Premier Cups to the National Stage, the Bisons have qualified twice for the World Cup Proper, and hope to push even further this tournament.

Being Head Coach of one of the most successful clubs in Avatarian history certainly has its advantages, and with being selected to the Assistant Coach position for the Bisons, Liu has certainly gained more stock. Formerly the star striker of Southern AFC, Liu has only been ‘out of the game’ for six years; in his first year of retirement, he was given the Assistant Coach position at FC Mando, however, the next year RC United’s illustrious coach Chao Rodrigiu retired and soon Liu was offered the position and moved immediately.

Much like Vhett, Liu is a think-on-your-feet kind of coach, quickly able to read the field as his men do, adjust his own strategies and prepare them for whosoever they face. It is indeed a tough job coaching in Vhett’s shadow, however, with the U-20 squad coming into light, perhaps Liu may step out of it soon enough.

With Jacques-Modeste Taschereau headed into retirement after steering the Paladins back into the World Cup finals, Sol Kirkkegaard has been signed to a tremendous contract to take his place at the Paladins' helm. Having guided the Terns of his native Polar Islandstates from obscurity to a top ten KPB rank, he resigned in disgust after being undermined by his superiors and the press. The Ministry of Morale promptly seized the opportunity to hire a world-class manager as their head coach.

Kirkkegaard has implemented some fairly sweeping changes to his side. The traditional 2-6-2 has been replaced with a (slightly) more defensive-minded 3-6-1. The positional coaches (aside from the keepers) have been replaced with overall offensive and defensive co-ordinators in an effort to improve co-ordination and chemistry on the pitch. He brought the Tern's first-ever Captain, and Hall of Fame defender, Niko Marek to install some badly needed discipline under pressure in the new backfield. Marek is also fluent enough in French to help smooth over communication problems between Kirkkegaard and those Paladins who are more comfortable in French than in English. Former NMS captain André Vaillancourt-Bosquet has moved down the bench from the midfield to an assistant's spot, promoted by Kirkkegaard to provide a familiar face to his new side, and help him with the finer points of the midfield-driving NMS strategy.

After losing a 5-4 fiasco against hosts The Babbage Islands, fans and pundits began clamoring for someone to "maybe play some defense around here." The days of two burly center backs with good feet for big men taking you deep in the Finals by themselves appear to be over, and Sol Kirkkegaard is making a move towards normalcy, kind of, with two wing backs and a center back backing a pair of defensive midfielders. Bringing in Polar Islandstates retired captain and Hall of Famer Niko Marek to whip the Paladins into shape is a huge first step. Aging titan William St. John de la Ware and Hubert Séguin-Holmes will form a CB platoon that will lead the NS multiverse in "number of letters per name." Rick Andrews, meanwhile, will be the first offensively minded wing back to play for the Paladins since World Cup 11.

The midfield has undergone a tremendous amount of turnover as most of the WC 60 starters have aged out of international play. It will be up to Marek and Vaillancourt-Bosquet to get the new midfield to bind together both offensively and defensively, and the onus will be on returning starters Hank Bay and Donald Taylor to led by example during qualification. Guillaume Ouillemet, meanwhile, has taken over Vaillancourt-Bosquet's old role as the veteran mainstay on the bench, and will hopefully show the kids just how it's done.

Glen Svoboda and Natalia Karven are gone. Aubrey Dew and Courtney Keisler just turned 30.

But the program is not devoid of young talent waiting in the wings. Joey Baldwin and clubmate Noemi Alba in back. Valentine Armstrong in front. A completely renovated midfield led by Coll Brodie and Emily Howell. And bridging the age cap is über-keeper Kaitlyn Miller.

About the Tidal Surge
The Tidal Surge formation is a hybrid style that makes use of athleticism in key “flex” positions that allow the formation to ebb and flow between styles to take advantage of personnel match-ups and break opportunities. At any point in the match the Tidal Surge can more remind viewers and opponents of a 5-3-3 (most often) or a 3 4-3 (least often) but can usually be found flexing in between those extremes.
Three key positions make this formation work. The offensive midfielder with which everyone is familiar and the two hybrid positions called “UP” backs. These two positions are a direct cross between center midfielders and outside backs. These two positions use athletic ability to move up and down the pitch changing the formation to fit the needs of current needs. Thus at any one moment the formation can resemble anything from a 3-4-3 to a 3-5-2 to a 5-3-2 creating, quite nearly, the perfect positions for almost any situation.

Other style notes:
“Smashmouth Footy”. That is how the Sea Dragons play when at their best. They prefer the motto “Hit First, Ask Forgiveness Later” and yet they have become adept enough as to remain just on the safe side of the cards so many other squads get. When you play the Sea Dragons two truths are evident - 1: You had better be ready to play tough and 2: you had better be ready for rough play.

A defensive specialist in her playing days and as an assistant coach, Kymy now steps into the spotlight as Manager of the Sea Dragons. The shoes left by Mace as he says goodbye are rather huge but if anyone can fill them it is Kymy. She is loved by players and fans alike and yet is as unforgiving in training and game management as her predecessor.

Offensive Asst: Seyai At’roluii Age:27
As brilliant a run as the Sea Dragons had during World Cup 59, offensive ability was at the forefront very little. In fact, the squad averaged less than a goal per match in an unbeaten qualification. The scoring did pick up in the Cup proper but remained inconsistent. If this area does not improve, Seyaii could find herself coaching only U19s once more.

Midfield Asst: Nonari Em'ran'oz Age:45
Nonari was the coaching staff find that the Sea Dragons had been searching for. Finally the center of the pitch was not a liability in WC 58 and was brilliant in WC 59. Now it is key that the improvements continue as the Sea Dragons attempt to copy their third place showing.

Defenders Asst: Laia Un’jeru’betcii Age:37
Lie Kymy before her, Laia makes the jump from world class player to fledgling coach. Her fire and tenacity on the pitch will hopefully translate to a continued on the pitch success for her defense. Also listed as a resrve, Laia could find herself playing before this run is over if injuries occur or new talent does not develop quickly.
