THE EGGMAN EMPIRE NATIONAL TEAM

Image

ROSTER

KIKI (Goalkeeper)
Its speciality is setting up counter-attacks with his hands, owing to its original programming as a grenade thrower.

EGG BOT (Captain)
Used to be a stand-in for the good doctor, until a hedgehog-related incident put it out of comission. Now it works as the captain of the team, because it's already used to being the fall guy.

CAPTAIN WHISKER
Built for a failed attempt to capture a remote island, this faux-amusement-park-mascot has a whole bunch of secret weapons hidden under its metal coat. The missiles and plasma cannon, however, were stripped down. Hopefully.

E-102+ CHAOS GAMMA
A Chaos energy fueled robot that packs quite the punch and is unquestioningly loyal. This one was reprogrammed to play football, and probably won't kill anyone.

E-106 ETA
A mass-produced E-series machine, with its basic programming swapped for football. It still conserves some of the violent nature from its original occupation, though.

EGG PAWN
One of the simplest bots in the doctor's arsenal, little more than cannon fodder in its basic form, but highly versatile and upgradeable. This variety was optimized to play football. We mean "optimized" in the loosest of senses.

SCR-GP
This model was produced by MeteoTech, one of Eggman's many puppet companies. It's built for both speed and strength.

E-777 LUCKY LUCKY
This is a strange robot. Weak motors, a limited hovering ability and an AI described as "chipper". However, that exterior hides its true purpose: it houses a Probability Drive, a machine capable of altering fate at a subatomic level. As a result, it appears to be incredibly lucky.

EGG HAMMER
An Egg Pawn modified with heavy armor.

SHADOWBOT
Built for infiltration, this robot is surprising flexible and smart for its bulk. It doesn't get along with the other robots, but Eggman doesn't care as long as it does its job.

X-PROTOTYPE
Speed, power, aerial presence - all in one package. The test bed for Eggman's new secret ultimate doomsday weapon project, with a football-wired brain inside. It's powerful, relentless and nigh-unstoppable.

COACHES
CUBOT and ORBOT
Image
A dynamic duo if there ever was one, these conveniently-packaged robots are sure to use their logical processing to the utmost extreme when commanding the team from the sidelines. Orbot even works as a spare ball.

When referring to this nation, please call it "Eggman Empire", thank you.

"Mobians didn't have any rights to the land and there was no reason for anyone to grant them rights which they had not conceived and were not using... What was it they were fighting for, if they opposed my industrial might? For their wish to continue a primitive existence, their 'right' to keep part of the earth untouched, unused and not even as property. As I brought civilization to this land, I had all the rights to take it."

Warkus National Football Team

Manager: Victor Vos
Captain: Ceri Owens
Formation: 4-3-3
Style Modifier: +4

Well, it's World Cup time. Warkus will be making their return to the World Cup after finally winning their first international event. After winning the 3rd edition of the Warkus International Cup, it seems that Victor Vos has opted to keep his starting lineup the same, with only a few changes.

This year's going to be a real struggle for the wooden spoon, so the squad is built on youth potential and growth. The hope for Warkus is that our players grow and become better for the next World Cup, rather than fall over and die.

Starting XI

Goalkeeper: #1 Llyr Powell

Considered by many to have incredible potential, Llyr Powell has been the ultimate goalkeeper for Warkus. The 19-year-old has already shown himself off at the WIFC and the Di Bradini Cup, so hopefully he can continue (and improve) his run of form.

Full Back: #38 Wynne Priddy

Priddy is definitely not someone you'd want to be. First cap, being played out of position, he's got everything he could ever not want. He'll also be the youngest person in the Warku squad's history! Let's hope he doesn't fail too hard.

Centre Back: #18 Emrys Griffith

Emrys has exploded in the WIFC. After fans begged Vos to drop him, he unleashed his true potential. It seems that Vos's trust in him has helped him pull through, but will he fall back into failure?

Centre Back: #3 Megan Tomos

Megan Tomos has impressed many managers with her speed and tackling ability. Having an amazing season with Reuchin Royal, Warku fans hope she can bring her club success with her.

Full Back: #00 Iwan Rhys-Evans

Iwan, the 16-year-old sensation. Iwan has become a viral sensation of sorts by Warkus fans on the internet, known for being large and strong, he has gained the nickname "Mae'r tanc anhygoel" (The incedible tank).

Left Midfielder: #9 Ceri Owens

23-year-old Ceri Owens stars as the captain of the Warkus squad. Owens has been praised for his magnificent ball control and his excellent leadership skills. Can Owens lead Warkus to a respectable finish? Or will he throw the team at the wooden spoon?

Centre Midfielder: #51 Elwyn Dafis

Despite never being a starting XI member, Dafis is a familiar face to all Warkus fans. Having appeared numerous times as a substitute for the now-retired Gwenda Evans, Dafis is probably going to do alright, but not too well.

Right Midfielder: #22 Peredur Selwyn

Selwyn has finally delivered, playing well at the 3rd WIFC. Despite this, he's yet another player who has high chances of losing his form and becoming rubbish again.

Left Winger: #10 Morgan Rees

Rees has always been the underdog. No one ever mentions this guy, but he has an amazing cross and wonderful pace. Hopefully he can surprise opponents in the upcoming matches.

Centre Forward: #7 Trystan Llwyd

Despite his amazing performances, Llwyd is still going to struggle. Having to live up to the expectations of being both a wonderkid and a successor to Vos has got to be hard on him. However, his amazing shot and good pace can help him pull through.

Right Winger: #99 Cynfael Trevor

Trevor is another player who has to live up to the expectation of being a wonderkid. A 17-year-old with amazing speed, Trevor is expected to use his speed to outrun his opponents.

Substitutes
GK - Meic Cadwallader
CB - Gwenith Efa

LW - Wyn Kendrick

Stadia:

The main stadium used will be the Nyaky Gromen. It can hold around 45,000 away visitors and has very good facilities, due to it being built recently and government funding.

Notes:

People from Warkus are known as Warku.

The team is very offensive in terms of their style of play. This includes their defence, which means that they can occasionally cause a few injuries. Despite this, the team isn't known for dirty play. They consider things such as diving to be pathetic and insulting to the perpetrator's own skill, showing that they are rubbish without cheating. Victor Vos, the manager, is a cult hero within Warkus. Vos was, in fact, a pretty decent player, but has been considered to be wasted potential. However, he didn't match up to the greats of the world, although fans would say he did. Fans will often compare Vos with greats such as Juan Tzimisces, Simeone Di Bradini and Ug-Ug. Please do not take offence at this, as Victor Vos is regarded to be one of the best players to have lived, despite his poor record and average skill.

The Karditan Robber Barons

Soccer is illegal in Karditan. Thus, this is a team of criminals. In a fit of boredom they decided to shift to an extremely front-heavy strategy; they'll be working to keep the opponents on their heels as long and often as possible.

Starting 11

Goalkeeper- Emanuel Portico. One of the most successful petty thieves in all of Karditan, he is incredibly agile and specializes in predicting the movements of adversaries. This helps tremendously in stopping shots, espicially PKs. He is dating Sweet Swing.

Defensive Back- Dorian Berard. Runs Hardcore Cola, Karditan's leading soda distributor. Has an odd obsession with an online game called "RLstates."

Sweeper- Dust Pan. The head janitor in Silveen Eleco's Fillydelphia estate (see below), he is incredibly quick and maneuverable--taken from years of experience darting through needlessly elaborate hallways and corridors to fix and clean any problems that appeared anywhere on the massive grounds. He will be roaming the backfield to pick up any loose balls that find their way into the Karditani half.

Midfielder- Left Wing. A Pegasus hitman who is wanted on several charges of vandalism and arson, suspected of using small tornadoes and lightning to destroy the rival businesses of his clients.

Midfielder- Ivory Hilt. A freedom fighter from Vashameer who successfully bartered with Karditani authorities to allow his homeland to be carried away along with Ibex when the rebellious state was moved from one region to another via a fleet of military-grade helicopters. The land movement left most of the underlying soil, so the Karditanis got all they wanted: the oil. Meanwhile, Hilt has become the Governor-General of Vashameer under Ibex while continuing his modeling career.

Forward Midfielder- Carnac Carson. The biggest personality in Karditani crime, Carnac is the guy you go to when you need a hookup. Everyone who is anyone has grabbed a beer with him at one point or another. Is rumored to have some future-telling powers.

Forward- Yong-Hu Cho. Leader of the largest Triad in Neighpon. A bit of an amateur in organized crime when compared to Korzado and Carnac, but still not a man you want to cross--he is far more focused on revenge and overt displays of superiority than the other two (which is very amateurish in a crime boss). Probably the most likely of the starting eleven to get red-carded.

Forward- Sweet Swing. The one member of the Robber Barons who isn't actually a criminal, Swing is the daughter of famous Karditinian golfer Tyre McIron. She is in a pretty serious relationship with Emanuel Portico.

Forward- Lightning Heart. A buffalo with a bad temper. Really, that's it. More assault & battery convictions than you can shake a horn at. Isn't very swift, but few people will want to be in his way if he gets up to speed.

Forward- Korzado. One of the few Zebras in Karditan, Korzado runs the Illineigh Mafia. His influence can be found in almost every successful business venture in Illineigh, as well as many in Detrot and Sinsinatti. A legion of all types of creatures serve him, and he might be the only thing richer than Eleco in Karditan- but he doesn't flaunt his wealth like Eleco does. Almost all of it is re-invested, whether in businesses or bribes.

Striker- Mario Cansetta. One of the higher-ups in Korzado's organization, Mario is in charge of collecting protection fees in Sinsinatti as well as organizing the official unofficial street racing league of Karditan. He's generally good-natured (he tries to convince his clients to pay their fees because he genuinely doesn't want to teach them a lesson), and is fiercely competitive. He'll take some bad shots, but it's damn hard for defenders to keep up with him.

Manager- Sucker Punch. A unicorn who's special ability is illusions of the nefarious kind, Punch is a strategic genius who plans to bring Karditan to the top. He runs the most successful corporate advertising/propaganda firm in Fillydelphia.

Financier- Silveen Eleco. The Man in Karditan. He runs Eleco Industries, Karditan's largest electronics company. He inherited the moderately-sized business from his father, Sylvester, and grew it to enormous proportions with brilliant economics and some underhanded business practices. He organized the Robber Barons and put together their entry into the World Cup, maintaining a large role on the running of the team though he no longer plays.

Substitutes

GK- Kroze (Zebra)
D- Mark Cheez
D- Jack Howitzer
D- Pick Pocket (Unicorn)
M- John Bum
M- Rain Out (Pegasus)
F- Ron Ferret
F- Hired Hoof (Earth Pony)

Formation: 1-1-3-5
Style Mod: +5
Home field: Silveen Eleco's personal pitch in his massive Fillydelphia complex. Visiting teams and a small cadre of visiting fans will be escorted through a convoluted network of underground tunnels that lead from the seaboard to the complex. No one is allowed to leave the complex until the end of play and all exists must be international in nature. We don't want the Karditani cops catching wind of a soccer game, do we?

The Freisan Farf Freitball Francitian (Official Farf Football Association in English) has officially presented WC 61's roster:

Image

Manager: Fendergéson Numbá
Assistant Manager: Ander Numbá
Style Modifier: +4

GK1:
Name: Erfaon Lisdiren (Main team)
Age: 23
Team: Ferdullaele FC
Style: Acrobatic goalkeeper
Bio: He was discovered by a Gorfalle Town scout by the age of 18. Quickly rose to fame by becoming Farfadillis' league's goalkeeper of the year and was consequently bought by Ferdullaele FC (Farfadillis' best team). He can stop almost any shot, but will almost always lose the ball due to poor handling. Due to this, the defenders that play with him are always next to him when someone shoots, to prevent an opponent's striker to score.

GK2:
Name: Yintíñoin Redfaer
Age: 37
Team: Friguista Farfa FC
Style: Traditional Goalkeeper, very slow
Bio: Farfadillis' oldest goalkeeper, used to be the main goalkeeper until age hit him. He's part of the roster because of his pretty unusual talent, stopping almost any penalty, will always enter the field on minute 120 (given the condition the game is going to end as a draw).

LB:
Name: Nomá Greffe (Main Team)
Age: 21
Team: Goldepa Tigers (not a Farfadillis team, an Olodepa one)
Style: Fast thinking, Tactical Mastermind
Bio: Nomá Greffe is a very interesting LB, he's a bit slow, but totally makes up for it by always knowing what the opponent's going to do. He's not very good at long passing, so he often tries to make the team play better by using short passing.

LB:
Name: Shutufragafardeliidis Meindá
Age: 35
Team: Llefraga FC
Style: Violent and foul-mouthed, poor technically, very slow.
Bio: Shutufragafardeliidis is pretty bad actually, the only reason why he is (sometimes) on the starting line-up is because adversaries fear him. He's broken more legs than he has scored goals.

CB:
Name: Yung Chinsúa (Main Team) (Captain)
Age: 22
Team: Feardallis' Wanderers
Style: Fast defender, prone to injuries
Bio: Yung is Saindí's heir, he's young and, even though he's not really similar to him, he'll be the starting CB as Saindí has retired. He's not as prone to injuriesas he was before, because he's been doing heavy excercises and has therefore become stronger. Saindí wanted him to be the captain.

RB:
Name: Agundí Frêndê (Main Team)
Age: 23
Team: Fryi Frêndê
Style: Very selfish, awesome dribbler.
Bio: Ferdullaele FC has always been interested on Agundí, but, as his father is the founder of his team (Fryi Frêndê), he has constantly rejected any offer. He's the best dribbler of the team, but the most selfish player too. Rumours has it he'll (finally) be sold next transfer window.

LM:
Name: Friekder Dandalleion (Main Team)
Age: 18
Team: Ferdullaele FC
Style: Extremely Fast, always helps on the offense, a bit on the defense, tends to score goals by outrunning players.
Bio: After being the best Farf player on the Swamp Soccer WC 2, he was called by Ferdullaele FC and started playing on Farfadillis' first division, becoming loved by the fans (who already loved him because of his performance on the SSWC2) and was called for the national team, quickly replacing Bujkanovic. He's a very promising player, and is an example of commitment.

LM:
Name: I7'imund Bujkanovic
Age: 30
Team: Ferdullaele FC
Style: Fast, good on a defensive point of view.
Bio: I7imund is a fast midfielder, almost unstoppable on a long run. He's been the Best Farfadillian Player of the year twice since his debut. His youth team was Tympú FC, but Ferdullaele FC bought him before he even debuted. He's not as fast as he was last world cup. As he performed terribly last world cup, a Swamp Soccer player, loved by the fans, and who is faster than him, took his place on the main team.

CDM:
Name:
Frion Wanderis (Main Team)
Age: 20
Team: Ferdullaele FC
Style: Very good defensively, very good dribbler, decent passer.
Bio: Frion Wanderis is a very good in important areas of the midfield, specially on a defensive point of view, the bad thing is he's a bit selfish, and that's not very good for a CDM. He's a very important player of the team now, and never gets substituted.

CDM:
Name: Setulpá Meustunus
Age: 33
Team: Ñandfe FC
Style: Defensive minded
Bio: Setulpá still is Wanderis' shadow, even though he has much more experience, he's just half as good as Wanderis in everything and he probably won't enter on any match this WC, again.

CM:
Name: Yurpá Mêndêlöíndçêl (Main Team)
Age: 18
Team: Ferdullaele FC
Style: VERY energetic, decent when it comes to technique and superb defensively.
Bio: Yurpá is the most promising player here. He's not good with the ball, but he's a ball-recovering machine. He was named most promising young player by the Farfadillis commitee twice. He's finally gotten a solid place on the midfield, playing with O'rosso really gives him cnofidence.

CAM:
Name: Matí O'rosso (Main Team)
Age: 20
Team: Ferdullaele FC
Style: Fast-paced, agile, playmaker
Bio: The best player on the team. He's the centre of every attack and can assist from very difficult positions. His weak point is dribbling, as he's used to pass the ball as soon as possible since he started playing football. He's very passive and never complains to the referee. His free kicks are almost impossible to stop. He was the best Farf player on world cup 60, soring 9 goals, sadly, he couldn't stop the team from being the lowest on our group.

CAM:
Name: Ichi Tuzzio (Main Team)
Age: 18
Team: Ferdullaele FC
Style: Very good at shooting from long distances, excellent dribbler, agile, and good playmaker.
Bio: Ichi Tuzzio was originally born on Dodeni, Dandillis, but due to the fact that if you're born on Dandillis you get Farfadillis' nationality too (and viceversa), he'll be playing for Farfadillis, because he hasn't played any official competition for Dandillis, just unofficial ones. According to most people, he's a hell of a player and will shine at this world cup, only time will tell if he actually does....

RM:
Name:
Ñó Minduruguatzel (Main Team)
Age: 30
Team: Ferdullaele FC
Style: Very aggresive, very good long shooting
Bio: Nó is a very aggresive, physically superb player who has a very bad temper. He debuted for the national team at the age of 27, something that surprised everyone and was questioned a lot, until he started scoring from very long distances, and everyone started liking him.

ST:
Name:
Fabrifé Numbá (Main Team)
Age: 28
Team: Tympú AC
Style: Fast, precise striker
Bio: An incredibly fast and very lethal finisher. Used to compete on athletism until, at the age of 16, his uncle persuaded him to compete on football instead, he did keep his athletic treats though, something easily noticeable. Currently plays on Tympú AC, where he has won 2 Aderisia Champions League already. By the way, his uncle is the manager and his cousin the assistant.

ST:
Name:
Neguimbelefra Fragreda
Age: 27
Team: Feardallis' Wanderers
Style: Slow poacher
Bio: Neguimbelefra is VERY slow, and often has troubles with the offside law, but he's a superb poacher and makes up for it completely. He's one of the best players technically speaking. He's lost his place on the starting eleven with Ichi Tuzzio, Farfadillis new promise. Ths is partly because of his horrendous performance at world cup 60.

ST:
Name:
Septimus Johans
Age: 18
Team: Ferdullaele FC
Style: Finisher
Bio: Septimus is Farfadillis' future striker, currently, Numbá is on perfect form so he's not getting any chances, but everyone has put their eyes on this young striker, being known for being "the perfect finisher".

Starting Line-up:
-----------------------------------------Numbá--------------------------------------------------
--------------------O'rosso------------------------------Tuzzio--------------------------------
-Dandalleion------------------Mêndêlöíndçêl----------------------Minduruguatzel--
----------------------------------------Wanderis------------------------------------------------

Caretaker Manager- Luke Thompson:
Thompson is continuing in his role as manager of the national team for the 61st World Cup, taking over from Nathan Gardiner, who has resigned following the death of his son Alex, the Cyan-and-Gold and Celtic goalkeeper, in the plane crash that kept the main members of the team, now returned, out for the whole of qualifying. Luke will return to Colesham following the tournament, with a new manager, possibly foreign, taking the reins.

Timfen Roster

Timfen's World Cup 61 Roster

Management and Coaching Staff
Role: Manager
Games Managed: 12
Games Won: 5
Games Drawn:3
Games Lost:4
A footballer in his youth, Tom knows all about the right tactics and formations at the right time. For Example, the half time subs aginst Deep Fried Pickles at the latest Baptism of Fire.

Role: Head Coach
Harold recently took up the post of Head Coach, and has been a good coach in general, overseeing all coaching.

Role: Goalkeeping Coach
Stan has been the goalie coach for a long time, and has produced Tony Kelly from a Goalie in Dradeg to the best in Timfen. It doesn't look like Stan will be replaced anytime soon.

Role: Defensive Coach
A tall man, Alan has produced the Timfen defence from almost nothing to the one of the best in the region.

Role: Midfield Coach
Shane has taught the Team a lot since his recent arrival at this job, but has been criticised as not doing enough, as Timfen have lost games because of the midfield.

Role: Attackers Coach
Garry has had a lot to live up to after the last coach, Jeff Sutfin, made Jacques Brondons a driving force, but he has done a lot for the strike force.

Role: Fitness Coach
Glenda is the only women coach on the staff, but she has done her job well, and players have said this.

THE FEDERATION OF POLAR ISLANDSTATES ROSTER FOR WORLD CUP LXI
Nation Name: The Federation of Polar Islandstates
Shorthand Nation Names: The Federation, The FPI
Demonym: Polarians/Valhallans
Team Nickname: The Terns
Official Supporters Group: The Twitchers (as in, birdwatchers)

KIT COLOURS:

HOME STADIUM:
Image
HOME SUPPORT: The Ostkurven - Home of the Twitchers

FULL ROSTER:
(Caps in brackets indicate appearances from the bench)

Coach: Joachim Schwartz, 48
Sol Kirkkegaard's shoes are going to be tough to fill, and Joachim Schwartz has got off to the best possible start. As winners of the recent Copa Rushmori, impressively conceding their only two goals of the tournament in the final as they did so, he has already emulated Kirkkegaard's greatest achievement in terms of silverware, and so much will be hoped for from the Terns. Not least because the sweeping changes that Schwartz promised appear to be countering the stagnation that seemed to be setting into the national team. A revolution is underway, and it is being televised. Schwartz's message of fresh blood doesn't stop with team selection and tactics either, with a subtle redesign of the kits intended to both excite the Twitchers and bring the players together in their new and improved team mentality.

Schwartz is hard-nosed and tough to win over. He values loyalty and hard work more than flair and showboating as a result, so if you keep your nose clean and work hard you'll go far in his estimations. He formerly pushed hard for the inclusion of wingers in the Terns squad, but in his quest to deliver a passing defensive game he has sacrificed them to the bench once more as he seeks to show off all the tactical knowledge that he absorbed during his time as Kirkkegaard's assistant. In his short time in charge so far, he has already made great strides towards working with youth team coach Gregorz van der Riise, making the challenge of integrating the next generation of youth players one of his first priorities. The youth element is keenly felt in the squad as a result, with an average age of just 26.1 years old.

He was justly rewarded for his faith in youth with the Copa Rushmori title, and as a result he will be placing his faith in the exact same group of players. New FPIFA chairman Dima Koolhaas has assured Joachim that his job is safe whatever happens, and the Twitchers know they need to trust Joachim and his assistants even if it looks like it might take a while to settle in on the wider stage. Despite this, his targets are ambitious, and expectation will be high...

Assistants:
First Team Coach: Johannes Kallstrom, 39
Fitness Coach: Duncan Kanchelskis, 42
Opposition Scout: Matteus Sigurdsson, 47

After Kirkkegaard left, Schwartz elected to keep much the same coaching and fitness squad intact. However, with an opening for his own former assistant job now in need of filling, he chose to place greater responsibility upon the shoulders of three of his most trusted colleagues. Between them, they are in charge of three of the most crucial parts of Schwartz's 'Revolution': tactical understanding and discipline, levels of fitness that exploit the natural hardiness and stamina of Polarians, and an in-depth knowledge and analysis of the oppositions' strengths and weaknesses. They will all three of them be involved heavily with Schwartz at one stage of the match preparation routine or another, though it would be hard to point at any one of and label him Schwartz's "number two."

#1 - GK - Lars Hegg Gammel - Age 34 - Avidia United (Krytenia) - 131 Caps, 1 Assist
Lars moved abroad to Cotdelapoms in order to try and win a place in the Terns squad, fearing he'd never get the chance if he stayed stuck behind Atle Andreasson at SK. The move paid off, replacing first Atle on the bench, and then Karlsson in the starting line up. His talent is undeniable, and his quick reactions were key to the Terns claiming the third place medal when they did, keeping their only clean sheet of the finals as they beat Krytenia 1-0. Following the collapse of the Cotdelapomais league, it was this performance that alerted his presence to Krytenia giants Avidia United, for whom he now earns his living. Quite simply the best Polarian goalkeeper ever seen, he showed the Terns just what they'll be missing when he retires at the end of this cycle at the Copa Rushmori, keeping clean sheets all the way up until the final.

#2 - DR - Zacharias Juul - Age 27 - Jan Mayen Islanders - 75(4) Caps, 4 Assists, 6 Goals
So often the bridesmaid and never the bride, Juul has waited patiently for his chance in the first team, and hasn't looked back since winning the starting position on a permanent basis as the Terns lifted the Copa Rushmori VIII title, remaining in the team and being a crucial cog in the squad that also won Copa Rushmori X. He is fast, a natural leader, and calm and confident on the ball, and will be one of the most consistent performers in the side, week-in, week-out, launching attack after attack up the right wing as required to by the formation being played.

#3 - DC - Julius Oyen-Spekke - Age 24 - Resolute Storm 1913 FC - 13(5) Caps, 3 Assists, 1 Goal
Quietly putting in matchwinning performances isn't easy in the Federation League, where every move is scrutinised and caught on camera, but playing for a club outside the big four has helped. Oyen-Spekke is a young defender upon many hopes rest, and his promotion to the starting XI was seen as something of a risk by Schwartz. That, however, is what Schwartz is here to do, and so Oyen-Spekke got his big break, and was one of the stand-out performers after Urfstadt's injury, as the Terns won the Copa. His agility and ability in the air is almost unmatched, and for sheer athleticism he'll be hard to beat.

#4 - DC - Torre Urfstadt - Age 27 - Club ESF (Valanora) - 60(13) Caps, 1 Assist, 2 Goals
Urfstadt is one of the most exciting players to come from the Torshavn ranks in a long time, and was a crucial part of Torshavn's continued presence in Divisjon One, and a vital component in their Cygnus Cup winning squad. This brought him to the attention of Vanorian scouts, and a big money move saw him playing in the VSL. Fast, powerful, and one of the few shining lights in the Terns' last World Cup campaign, now the finer points of positioning and leadership have revealed themselves to him, he is a truly formidable defender - the likes of which the Federation hasn't seen since Niko Marek. Expect his 6'8" frame to be a danger in the opposing penalty box as well. Injury kept him out of the last matches in the Copa, but he has returned fighting fit, and harder to crack than ever.

#5 - DL - Edvar Folke - Age 26 - SK Franz Josef City - 52(3) Caps, 3 Assists, 2 Goals
With the retirement of Steffan Pekarik after what was a fairly uninspiring World Cup run, Sol wasn't overly bowled over by the performances of his back up, Robin Arnfeldt. Therefore, with the left back position completely open, in from a string of performances in the U-21s came the pair of Baalsen and Folke. A hugely dynamic presence in the defence, Folke plays his way for SK after leaving the King's League, and his huge promise has impressed Schwartz enough to ensure he keeps the starting position, his exciting runs being a particular highlight. Schwartz has kept faith with the SK full back since Sol's departure, and this consistency at the back can only help the side.

#6 - DMC - Jorgen Hauge - Age 31 - Battle (Zarbli) - 144(4) Caps, 24 Assists, 13 Goals - CAPTAIN
A well established played in the Zarblese Duke League, Hauge was snapped up by Battle from Cross SC a few seasons ago, and hasn't looked back since. Now a regular in the starting lineup for the Terns, his marauding hatchet-man presence in front of the defence means attackers can't relax for a second. A long future in the national team beckoned for Jorgen, who is impressively large even by Polarian standards, and he has a fearsome reputation that has led to him being given the captain's armband, such is the level of importance he holds for the Terns. If he does his job correctly, it allows others to do theirs more easily, and he sees everything that happens on the pitch. Under the guidance of Schwartz and Kanchelskis he has improved his fitness and his mobility greatly, and as such he operates in one of the two crucial pivot positions of Schwartz's tactical revolution as the fulcrum for the 'defensive triangle'. In defence he is a glorified libero, and in attack he becomes a deep-lying playmaker. Not bad with and from set pieces, either.

#7 - MC - Niko Lepka - Age 25 - Jan Mayen Islanders - 16(17) Caps, 16 Assists, 3 Goals
Not many would have expected such an experienced and calm reader of the game to reside in a body just twenty-five years old, however, Sol saw the talent this young midfielder has to bring the table, and brought him in in repeated squads. After a number of short cameos offered mere tasters of what he is capable of, he managed to secure a more permanent position and has since thrived under Schwartz's regime. Playing for Atletik Thessia and RVA before moving to Jan Mayen, he was well experienced and highly thought of in both Mytannion and Erathore before his subsequent move to the Islanders, who are looking to use him to replace their long standing Swartazian playmaker Krivac. He likes to give as good as he gets, physically speaking, but his real skill lies with distribution, and he is seen as the next worthy successor to Demarchelier as a truly creative presence in the midfield.

#8 - MC - Emrahn Vik - Age 25 - Jan Mayen Islanders - 13(6) Caps, 4 Assists, 1 Goal
With Henning Tir's decision to retire from international football, and Artur Rochemback's less than impressive cameos at the last Copa, and then Jorgen-Franz Bru's unfortunate injury, Emrahn Vik was handed the chance in the starting lineup rather earlier than he had anticipated, but did so with the full blessing of Schwartz. He repaid this trust with a series of marauding box to box performances at the Copa. You were just as likely to see Emrahn smashing in a shot from the edge of the box as you were to see him make a block on the edge of his own box minutes later. The move to Jan Mayen is drawing him wonderfully out of his skin, and he will be asked to repeat his performances again in the upcoming campaign. His partnership with Lepka in the midfield at Jan Mayen is developing nicely, and Twitchers will be hoping that they can bring this to the national side as well.

#9 - ST - Ellis Elmsvikur - Age 26 - Royal Rumiatzi (Astograth) - 23(17) Caps, 4 Assists, 18 Goals
Imposing and athletic, Elmvikur is the complete package. Fast, nimble, packed with stamina, a dead ball ace, good in the air, and with a lethal shot he can play as a poacher, or as a supporting striker. You name it, he can do it, has done it, and will continue to do it. Very highly thought of in the Iturributan league, he nonetheless ditched Iturributa for the Astograthi league in the form of Timo Skye's former side, Royal Rumiatzi, and justified his huge transfer fee to the world with three goals in seven matches at the Copa. Opposition defences will have to mark him down as one to watch, with nearly one goal every two games for the Terns so far, and he will be a key part of Terns sides in the future. At twenty-six, he and Kvitchenko are just starting to mature together into a lethal partnership, and we could be talking of them in the same breath as Skye and Ackermann-Finn in the future.

#10 - AMC - Alexsandr van Sorensen - Age 28 - AS Bezieres (Valladares) - 99(46) Caps, 55 Assists, 69 Goals - VICE-CAPTAIN
Shining light of the side Alexsandr is twenty-eight, and at his best he can be devastatingly untouchable. Played a vital role for Jan Mayen before his move to Cafundéu where he impressed the scouts from Petardos S/A enough to be offered a contract after initially playing for CR Submiria. He also recently moved to Valladar club AS Bezieres, and he will hope to add another successful chapter to his extensive club career in the Valladar Super League. Suffers from rare brain condition synaesthesia, meaning his senses get muddled up in his head, but manages to not let this affect his attractive attacking play - indeed if anything it appears to help him. Captained the U-21s in the Draggonnii Inviyatti, exhibiting his natural leadership on the pitch that means he has been granted the vice-captain position in the squad. Having played as a midfielder for Petardos S/A, Joachim Schwartz has made full use of this natural tendency of Alexsandr's and placed upon his shoulders the other crucially important role in his tactical scheme - taking up the pivotal trequartista role behind the strikers in the 'attacking triangle', and acting as a midfielder when the side has to defend. Almost certainly an all-time legend already, he is without a doubt the Terns' key player at this tournament. Anything good will likely come through him, and at twenty-eight, if the Terns are going to use one of the best players in the world (probably) to propel them to a world title, now is the time...

#11 - ST - Diedrich Kvitchenko - Age 26 - East Franz Athletic - 18(18) Caps, 2 Assist, 14 Goals
With fourteen goals in his Terns career so far, including three at the Copa, Kvitchenko is developing into a lethal striker, and is capable of playing out wide left or right and cutting in if required to do so. He is faster than he looks, and likes to use this to surprise defenders, changing direction and making a darting run that finishes in a first-time shot before many are even aware he changed direction. His ability to find space like this has been likened to witchcraft by a few defenders, and though he might not touch the ball much during the match, when he does, he uses it efficiently. Let's face it, there were two Polarian strikers in the CC-winning East Franz squad, and the nigh-on legendary Henning Blonqvist wasn't the one that made the Terns squad. Yeah. He's that good.

#12 - GK - Jan Rasmus - Age 29 - FC Axel Heiburg - 6(2) Caps
From his early days at the U-21s squad, it was clear to all that Jan Rasmus has talent. After several seasons working the penalty area at FC Axel Heiburg and becoming a real goalkeeper you can trust, he has made the backup role in the senior squad his own. A trustworthy backup, just unfortunate to be in the same generation as Gammel, this lanky goalkeeper would be first choice in almost any other Terns squad.

#13 - GK - Piotr Hemjann-Bezelhov - Age 25 - Jan Mayen Islanders - 3(1) Caps
Twenty-five is still plenty young for a goalkeeper, and you'll be sure to be hearing the tongue-twisting name of Hemjann-Bezelhov for a long time, yet. Gammel is one of the best goalkeepers the national team has ever had, so chances in the first team may be limited, but PHB will be ready to take them when they appear. Taking over the first gloves at Jan Mayen since Mathias Marek's sudden move abroad has been something of a baptism of fire for the keeper, but his reflexes and speed off his line have kept him right. Still learning, but plenty of potential.

#14 - DMC - Andrej Einmark - Age 24 - East Franz Athletic - 1(3) Caps
Apparently, Schwartz isn't much of a fan of Finnibaturinn. Or, maybe he's just selecting the players he knows best, the majority of which are naturally going to be players he's watched at home. Andrej is a fine defensive midfielder in the making, and though a little way off where Hauge was at his age, he was nonetheless the standout player for North Star in Divisjon 2 this past season, and with them failing to gain promotion, he has taken his chance to move to East Franz Athletic as a long term replacement for Henning Tir. His range of passing is excellent, and if he takes his pointers from Hauge as is surely intended, then he could be a ready-made replacement.

#15 - DL - Luka Baalsen - Age 27 - East Franz Athletic - 10(19) Caps
One of the stars of van der Riise's Chicks side for many years, this East Franz left back has impressed hugely during East Franz Athletic's run to being Champions' Cup title-lifters and hugely deserves his repeated call ups to the main Terns side. One of many youngster who has waited patiently for the legendary Pekarik and de Huyer to retire, he will seize this chance with both hands if given the chance to by Edvar Folke. Fast and intelligent, Baalsen can drill the balls in from long distance like a missile, so keepers will need to beware of his ability. He is less of an attacking force than Folke, and he can therefore be expected to be seen more in situations where a strong defence and a clean sheet are required.

#16 - DR - Dima Petersen - Age 24 - Ituraitz FC (Astograth) - 10(15) Caps, 1 Assist
Without much history in the national team, Dima is one of the wave of talented young wing backs the nation seems to be awash with at the moment, and following some impressive performances in the World Cup, Joachim has handed the man based in Ituraitz another call up. He is lithe and nimble, quick to change direction and a difficult marker to shift. His tackles are, well, when he tackles you, you stay tackled, put it that way, and his ferocity and determination is a key part of why Schwartz has called him up.

#17 - MC - Eyvindur Sudesval - Age 23 - Montbenoit (Saugeais) - 2(2) Caps
Having captained the u-21s in the past, Sudesval comes to the senior side with a wealth of experience already in his back pocket. Confident in his own abilities, he lets his football do the talking, and this quiet individual can often be seen practising alone if left to his own devices. Strong in the air and full of potential, his fitness levels are astonishing, able to run end to end for 120 minutes if needed to, therefore making him a perfect payer for Schwartz's system. Boasts a powerful thunderbolt of a shot as well as some developing vision in the game, he's a pro all-round midfielder just waiting to burst through.

#18 - ML - Kjetil Huytspurr - Age 25 - FC Axel Heiburg - 1(3) Caps, 3 Assists, 1 Goal
One of a few players called back into the Copa squad by Schwartz after periods away from it, Huytspurr is well known in the Federation League for his devastating pace and ball control down the left side of the FC Axel Heiburg midfield. His striking is frequently lethal when he cuts in from the outside, and used opposite of Jon Kjaer the pair of them could be a hugely successful alternative option for the Terns to call upon when the situation requires in. With Schwartz's move back towards a winger-less midfield, patience may have to be his greatest virtue. This will however, make him extra keen to impress once he does get on the pitch.

#19 - MR - Jon Kjaer - Age 29 - Mar Sara FC (Valanora) - 53(16) Caps, 24 Assists, 6 Goals
Kjaer was another victim of Sol's tactical preference when it comes to his national side potential, and following Schwartz's appointment as Sol's replacement, he drops once more to the bench. Nonetheless, he seems to have always been around, and the fact he's only twenty-nine catches many by surprise, as he had been a regular and feared feature of the SK starting lineup for many a year. His move to Valanora seems to have made him even more potent, and his crossing is keen and deadly. The speeds with which he can change direction appear to have only slowed very slightly, and he is in the form of his life right now.

#20 - ST - Lewis Bergen - Age 27 - FC Cape St Paul - 2(4) Caps, 1 Assist, 2 Goals
Yes, Lewis Bergen is back. The journeyman striker has finally settled it would seem, and set us shop nicely for St Paul this past season, impressing enough to earn a call-up as the third striker in the squad. Fourth if you count AvS. Schwartz sees big potential in Bergen still, and his height and strength as a lone striker could offer something different to the Terns. As impact substitutes go you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone else that could shake up a tiring defence at this level like Lewis can, and he has been known to send defenders flying like skittles once he gets his large frame up to speed. Bluntly, he's Schwartz's battering ram.

#21 - AMC - Vladimir Konovalov - Age 23 - Royal Rumiatzi (Astograth) - 1(3) Caps, 1 Assist
With a developing reputation in Astograth and many glowing reports from scouts, Vladimir Konovalov was called up to the Terns for the first time in his life for the Copa squad, showing enough to Schwartz and his team in his brief cameos to merit his call up to the World Cup squad as a result. Bursting with enthusiasm, the young playmaker will be itching to get a chance to use his fancy footwork on the international stage, and his vision is second to none. Perhaps his choice of when to run with it and when to execute that vision could be a bit better, but at only 22 years old, there's plenty of time to learn from those around him how best to shape his raw talents into the finished article.

#22 - DC - Nico Tchepikov - Age 22 - FC Cape St Paul - 0(4) Caps
Younger cousin of Brede Tchepikov, who plays for Renneville United in Osarius, Nico was all ready to accept his callup to van der Riise's u-21s side when it was suddenly retracted without warning. Though initially disappointed, Nico was all smiles the next day when he got the phone call from Schwartz, and is one of very few players who made their Terns debut whilst still eligible for the u-21s. Strong, fast, and an excellent reader of the game, Tchepikov is looking like turning into a great defender, and whilst he only made substitute appearances at the Copa, his continued presence in the squad shows his importance to the future of Schwartz's vision.

#23 - DC - Olivier Kindahl - Age 24 - Eterna Stars (Valladares) - 3 Caps
Another player that moved uncapped into the Copa squad is Olivier Kindahl. Schwartz had long advocated his inclusion into the senior side, claiming Sol overruled him and took Stanislav Dahl at the last World Cup. Once Schwartz got his way however, mature-beyond-his-years Olivier stepped up to the plate magnificently in the last three games of the tournament following injury to Torre Urfstadt. Nearly as tall as the imperious Urfstadt, Kindahl is as you would expect, a terror in both boxes, and his marking skills are second to none. His accurate long range passing from the back can often be the start of a devastating counter-attack if the forwards use their initiative, and he looks to be the model of a star in the making. His hugely exciting talent was also picked up by the locals at the Copa, and he arrives in the World Cup squad an Eterna Stars player, the Super League side having snapped him up following his magnificent performance in the final.

TACTICS: "The Pythagorean" 2-3-3-2
The Polarian game is fast, quick, and physical. They won't give you a second on the ball to think, and they won't hold back in the tackle. In the centre of the park they will play a possession based midfield game, though a defence splitting pass could come at any moment towards the fast and direct attack. Schwartz's tactical plan, a narrow and heavily modified diamond formation dubbed the Pythagorean by the sporting press, is reliant upon two key triangular sets of players that transcend the normal "rows" of player in conventional formation layouts. Oyen-Spekke, Urfstadt, and Hauge will act as the defensive triangle, and van Sorensen, Elmsvikur, and Kvitchenko will counter at the other end as the offensive triangle. Hauge and van Sorensen's roles in this scheme are absolutely crucial, as their job is to support and unlock the other two players in their respective triangles, providing outlets and creativity in abundance. Lepka and Vik will be part of a compact midfield that will supply steel or style whenever the situation demands it, as well as partnering up with their respective full backs to form a kind of "bumper" that sweeps the flanks in attack or folds in to protect the penalty area in defence. Fitness of all players will therefore be key to the success of this plan, not least the constant positional changing demanded of Hauge and van Sorensen, but the athleticism of Juul and Folke in particular will be tested to the limit as their roles require frequent attacking.

Penalty Taker: Ellis Elmsvikur/Jorgen Hauge
Free Kick Taker: Alexsandr van Sorensen/Niko Lepka
Corner Taker: Alexsandr van Sorensen/Edvar Folke/Zacharias Juul

Les Royales Roster- World Cup 61

After our nation's greatest triumph in football, 3rd place at the Copa Rushmori, Manager Marc Denis decided something that was expected: the same team who almost made it to the finals of the Copa will compete at the World Cup as well. Below is the roster of Les Royales, certain players have descriptions below them:

STARTERS
GOALTENDERS
GK- Pier-Luc Dion, Baie-Eternite FC
-Top Goalie in the Copa, turned aside shots from big-names teams such as Western Cuba
GK- Herbert Georges, FC Riviere-St-Denis

DEFENDERS
DF- Yves Savard, Lac Drouin City
-Was Always there at the Copa, breaking up passes and getting the ball out of the end.
DF- Neal Kent, Port Champlain FC
DF- Jacques Julien, Lac Drouin Tigres
DF- Robert Roberval, Capitales St-Simeon

MIDFIELDS
MF- Girard Giroux, FC St-Simeon
-Revelation during the Copa, scoring the most goals for the team. Can he perform as well at the World Cup?
MF- Tommy Taberval, Lac Drouin Tigres
MF- Oscar de Orebale, Capitales St-Simeon

FORWARDS
FW- Vince Valute, Montmorency-Ste-Anne FC
FW- Pier-Luc Hudon, Jonquiere Alouettes
FW- Georges Allonts, Lac Drouin Tigres
-Scored a few goals, but mostly provided crisp passes for the goalscorers at the Copa.
FW- Christopher Savard, Jonquiere Alouettes

SUBSTITUTES
DF- Yves de Rousselle, Lac Drouin FC
MF- Georges de Morants, FC St-Simeon
FW- Albert Alkion, Capitales St-Simeon

MANAGER
MG- Marc Denis, Jonquiere Alouettes
-In Denis' 12th year of managing teams, and his 3rd with the National Team, Marc Denis has won many titles in the ASCL. However, after the Copa, he stated this Bronze medal was the best he had ever won. Can he lead the Sicoutian team to more at the World Cup?

Oswald Ducal Football Federation Entry Form for World Cup LXI
Representing the Grand Duchy of Oswaldia
Team Nickname: Clippers
Abbreviation: GDO
Style Modifier: -2.5
Primary Kit
Image

Secondary Kit
Image

Keeper's Kit
Image

Home Stadium: Naval Memorial Stadium
President of the Ducal Football Federation: His Royal Highness Andrew, Prince of Highmore

Coach: Sir Don Bartel
Known to dress conservatively at matches, Bartel always has a sour face during the match. He's not one to get wound up over calls or even goals, but has a very calculated manor that makes him kind of a dronelike figure.
Assistant: Michael Dunn
A former National Team member, Dunn is now waiting in the wings to become the manager of the club. He is known to be a bit eccentric and has caused a stir nationally because he dresses in workout gear.

Formation: 4-4-2

The Clippers have been known to take a defensive approach to the game with free movement and speed. They are not the strongest club in the world, but they do have the legs to speed the ball to goal.

#1 GK James Greene

Known for his great handwork, Greene has become a well known name around Oswaldia. He has trouble with the ball coming out of the corner, but he is quick witted and sharp with his keeping skills.
#2 RDB Richard Pike
At the age of 20, Pike is the youngest man on the squad. He has quick feet and good defensive skills, but he is rough around the edges.
#3 DB Mark Jenkins
Considered to be the shut-down defender in Oswaldian Football, Jenkins is one of the better known players on the squad. Many feel he should have been chosen as Captain, but Jenkins will have to wait for Travers' retirement for that honor.
#4 DB Carol Travers (C)
The "old man" of the national side, Carol Travers has been a member of the team ever since there was a team to compete. Travers has retired from domestic football, but he still is part of the national team.
#5 LDB Mike Niemeyer
Another new face to the club is Mike Niemeyer, who has been known as a firecracker young footballer. At 22 years of age, Niemeyer has the talent, but he is severely lacking in maturity.
#6 RM John Carp
"The Fisherman" has been a part of Oswaldian Football for a long time now and is quite possibly the most famous name on the team. He has excellent long ball skills and has an accurate foot from 25 yards out. Age is catching up to his speed however.
#7 RCM Richard Miller
Miller is new to the club and has a very sketchy past. Miller is used to being in trouble with the law with problems stemming from drunkenness, but he has seemed to found himself on the pitch. Miller is entering his first year of international football.
#8 LCM Andrew Green
Known more for being the husband of model Patricia Moore, Green's inclusion on the club is a result of his hard work on the pitch. He is a team player through and through, and is known to be somebody that everyone loves to work with.
#9 LM Clancy Heilman
Heilman is considered to be the opposite of Green. He is brash, he loves to trash talk, and he has had run-ins in the past with officials and opponents. Heilman is a danger cleaning up after the first attack, but has been known to be selfish with the ball.
#10 ST Anthony Rose
Rose comes from a family of footballers and has direct roots to the foundation of the sport in Oswaldia. He is a fast attacker and is known to take the ball deep into his opponent's territory. He is however prone to injury in the past.
#11 ST R. L. Johnson
Johnson is the set-up man for Rose during attacks, but is also deadly in the box. Johnson's dribbling has been known to open many holes in the past and his power is incredible even if his accuracy is off.

#12 GK Peter Hawkins
Hawkins is a young player for the national team, and is rough at his position. However, he is good for defending against set pieces and corners. Too bad that he gets confused when he is being rushed.
#14 DB Elliot Zimmerman
Zimmerman nearly made the starting squad, but he has taken the back seat to many of the older, more experienced players. Zimmerman usually finds time to play as one of the first substitutions.
#15 DB Walter Weisman
Weisman has been a member of the national team for years, but is now more of a symbol of humble beginnings than of anything currently on the pitch. Weisman has been rumored to be the next assistant after Dunn is promoted.
#16 MD Simon Uxbridge
Uxbridge is a speedy midfielder known for his incredible dribbling skills. He is young however and his passing has been known to be disastrous. If he improves for the future however, he could be the next starting midfielder for the club.
#17 MD Jerry Holbrooke
Holbrooke is a very qualified player who is known to be the second substitution in most matches. He is athletic and quick to action, but his football knowledge is somewhat lacking compared to other players and he is prone to mistakes.
#18 ST Miles Williams
Williams is a young player who has been known to be a "total footballer" and has played midfield and even defense before. However, his passion is being a forward and he has the striking skills to prove it. However, he has been used as a hybrid substitute.

Head Coach: Nial Moro
Asst Coach: Ted Blaisa

The Satinbirds will employ a 4-1-3-2 formation complimented with a fairly attacking style, with captain Kensi August in the defensive midfield position allowing the remaining three midfielders to play forward with the option of a back pass when setting up a play or recovering from a counter attack. An expected strong presence in the forward middle of the pitch will result in a heavy workload for the midfield and strikers, who will be the most frequently substituted. Coach Nial Moro is relatively inexperienced at this level and faces extreme pressure locally after failing to guide the team past the group stage of the recent Baptism of Fire.

Full Roster

Goalkeepers
Mark Anstis: #1, GK, 26yrs, Esperance Utd
Caps: 3Clean Sheets: 1
A strong keeper making up for a lack of speed with a strong presence and aerial ability, especially from corners. Two excellent seasons at Esperance United ensured that the prestigious number one jersey was his own.

Travis Croker: #31, GK, 30yrs, New Albion FC
Caps: 2Clean Sheets: 1
A veteran local footballer, Croker is one of the few current players who remembers the early days of Arcadian football. Perhaps slightly unlucky to miss out on the number one jersey, Croker will add a dose of experience and leadership to the squad.

Thomas Walton: #13, GK, 22yrs, Cannington Utd
Caps: 0Clean Sheets: 0
All arms and legs, this promising young keeper has struggled at times in the AIPFL. Walton will be unlikely to see much (if any) time on the pitch during the Cup, but will gain from the experience of being part of the squad.

Defenders
Duncan Sinclair: #5, DL, 23yrs, South Flinders FC
Caps: 3Goals: 0
The left sided defender Sinclair provides the team with a good mixture of speed, tackling ability and long passing. His ability to read the game may see Sinclair break down a few opposition attacks in the final phases.

Terrence Marshall: #14, DC, 21yrs, North Esperance FC
Caps: 1Goals: 0
Despite his youth Marshall appears to be one of the most promising defensive prospects across the nation, although perhaps second to Travelli. Will be lucky to be more than a permanent fixture on the bench.

Edward Aitken: #3, DC, 26yrs, Esperance Utd
Caps: 4Goals: 0
Aitken is a technically skilled defender who makes good, strong tackles and can deal with opposition aerial threats; was just recently named Defensive Player of the Year for the most recent season of the AIPFL.

Nicholas Travelli: #15, DC/DR, 19yrs, Cannington Utd
Caps: 1Goals: 0
An exciting young player from Cannington on Cook Island, Travelli is not only able to play in the centre/right of the defensive line but can also play as a sweeper as he does at club level.

Rexley Sese Aala: #2, DR, 24yrs, Arcadia AFC
Caps: 3Goals: 0
A true wingback when playing for his club, Sese Aala will find himself restrained in attack while in the current formation under Moro; still, the immature Sese Aala will probably push forward from time to time and will have to call on his renowned endurance to ensure he doesn't leave his fellow defenders exposed.

André Jamet: #4, DC, 28yrs, Rockton FC
Caps: 4Goals: 0
Strength, stamina and good man-marking abilities are the hallmarks of Jamet, who will be the key to keeping the Arcadian defensive line strong and coherent.

James Etherin: #16, DL/DC, 24yrs, Rathnest FC
Caps: 0Goals: 0
A surprise inclusion in the squad over AS Bellerophon's Bowton, Etherin is realistically there to make up the numbers and cover for injuries. Etherin proved to be quite inconsistent at club level over the first two seasons of the AIPFL, although on those rare occasions when in form he is one of the most dominant left sided defenders in the nation.

Midfielders
Zeke Fitzgerald: #11, ML, 27yrs, Cannington Utd
Caps: 4Goals: 0
Brilliant on the counter attack and at running with the ball, Fitzgerald will provide a handful against those marking him. Perhaps a yard slower than he was a few years ago, his increased experience and maturity will make up for any loss in pace. Will often cut infield to get onto his stronger right side.

Dan Williams: #17, MC, 24yrs, New Albion FC
Caps: 4Goals: 0
Despite starting on the bench, Williams will be used by Moro as a secondary playmaker due to his good on-the-ball control and good passing ability, as well as his ability to read the game and seek scoring opportunities.

Kensi August (c): #6, DMC, 29yrs, Arcadia AFC
Caps: 5Goals: 1
The captain and one of only two ni-Kula (aboriginal Arcadians) in the team, the other being Sese Aala, August will be the main focus of the Arcadian midfield. His strong tackling, eternal stamina and deft passing ability will be put to the test as he provides a vital link between attack and defense.

Lucas Kennedy: #18, MC/MR, 24yrs, North Esperance FC
Caps: 3Goals: 0
Despite starting on the bench, Kennedy will likely see quite a bit of time on the pitch as he replaces tired legs; the young player will hopefully have an impact with his traditionally relentless box to box midfield style.

Andrew Dennett: #7, MR, 26yrs, South Flinders FC
Caps: 4Goals: 0
Dennett's pace and accuracy with crosses will threaten the box throughout the tournament, although reports he is carrying a knee injury may result in his ultimate game time being diminished.

Bryan Davies: #19, ML/LW, 21yrs, Arcadia AFC
Caps: 2Goals: 0
A threatening attacking player with his mixture of speed and ball control. Has an uncanny knack of beating players down the touchline although is generally quite inaccurate with his crosses.

Robert Lamanon: #8, AMC/AMR, 25yrs, AS Bellerophon
Caps: 3Goals: 0
An attacking playmaker, Lamanon will link up with the striking pair as they threaten goal; his right foot is accurate, powerful and able to find the goal from outside the box.

Strikers
Gareth Sully: #9, ST, 26yrs, Esperance Utd
Caps: 3Goals: 0
Able to out-muscle his opponents to make space, Sully has good ball control, ability to hold off defenders, and good finishing inside the box.

Jean d'Entrecasteaux: #10, ST, 25yrs, AS Bellerophon
Caps: 4Goals: 1
The most prolific goal scorer in the AIPFL, d'Entrecasteaux is known for his decent pace and wicked left foot which although not the most powerful is very accurate.

Matt Shillington: #20, CF, 28yrs, New Albion FC
Caps: 2Goals: 0
An expert goal poacher, Shillington specialises in goals from set pieces and goals around the six yard box. Known throughout the AIPFL for sledging his markers relentlessly.

Paul Riggott: #22, ST, 29yrs, South Flinders FC
Caps: 4Goals: 1
Riggott will be the first replacement up front, coming on late in the match to use his experience to break through. Whilst his legs are ageing, he can still surprise a few defenders with his pace and ability to be in the right place when needed.

DS of Fenbar Team Roster:

Staff:
Manager: Michael Griffiths
Assistant Manager: Adam Law
Assistant Manager: Espedito Fanucci
Head Coach: Dylan Preston
Goalkeeping Coach: Declan Thompson
Defensive Coach: Bailey Manning
Attacking Coach: Jules Gamache

Squad:

Goalkeepers:
Playing for MK City, he is still looking for his first game at national level. Although he enjoys being Carr's understudy, he has often said he would prefer to be actually playing than learning from the master.
Caps: 0 Clean Sheets: - Age: 28 Club: MK City
At 5'5'', you would not expect the Oldcastle stopper to be a goalie, but his amazing agility and reactions make him easily the best in Fenbar.
Caps: 18 Clean Sheets: 7 Age: 23 Club: Oldcastle Athletic
A great young prospect who plies his trade with Arrow Rovers. Although he probably won't get a look in in this tournament, he is one to watch for the future.
Caps: 0 Clean Sheets: - Age: 18 Club: Arrow Rovers

Defenders:
Although his team finished bottom of the league last season, he was voted best left back in the country, and is a good attacking option.
Caps: 14 Goals: 0 Age: 28 Club: Dark Destroyers
Has played every single national game so far, and has proved his selection worthwhile time and again with good consistent performances, being rewarded with the vice-captaincy. Is quite a prolific goal scorer for a defender, and uses his pace and stamina to cut off passes, and rescue dire situations.
Caps: 18 Goals: 1 Age: 21 Club: MK Killers
Again, he is a consistent performer, and has captained club side New Beetle well over the past few seasons. Can often make some good runs into the box, as well as being a tough tackler.
Caps: 17 Goals: 0 Age: 24 Club: New Beetle
Along with partner Watson, his central position in Zinkak United's successful 6-3-1 formation helped them to the League title last season.
Caps: 4 Goals: 0 Age: 27 Club: Zinkak United
A brilliant attacking full back who can whip in crosses and score from long distance. His pace and power make him difficult to handle in both defence and attack.
Caps: 17 Goals: 2 Age: 22 Club: Flippers
Often overlooked in selection, the only national game he played in before the Baptism of Fire is the semi-final defeat in the previous tournament. Is only kept out of the side due to the brilliance of Call and Murphy. A more defensive option.
Caps: 5 Goals: 0 Age: 29 Club: Oldcastle Athletic
Along with partner McKechnie, his central position in Zinkak United's successful 6-3-1 formation helped them to the League title last season.
Caps: 3 Goals: 0 Age: 30 Club: Zinkak United

Midfielders:
A surprise choice from Manager Griffiths, Bailey is a more defensive option, and has good season for MK City last year.
Caps: 3 Goals: 0 Age: 19 Club: MK City
A constant performer on the international stage, Carlo is a brilliant playmaker, and his probing corners are often finished off. His excellent form showed when he was voted player of the tournament in the regional tournament.
Caps: 16 Goals: 2 Age: 27 Club: Oldcastle Athletic
A flying left winger who can cut inside and shoot, or speed down the touchline and send in searching crosses, he is one to look out for.
Caps: 17 Goals: 2 Age: 25 Club: Dark Destroyers
Can play anywhere across the midfield, and is a constant worker. Coming to the end of a good career.
Caps: 8 Goals: 0 Age: 30 Club: Queens FC
Matthew's partner in the Queens FC midfield, injury has kept him out of previous tournaments, but he will be looking for some more playing time in this tournament
Caps: 2 Goals: 0 Age: 28 Club: Queens FC
Although not the fastest of wingers, he has an unbelievable control of a ball, and often leaves full backs looking very foolish.
Caps: 17 Goals: 1 Age: 26 Club: Flippers

Forwards:
Possibly the country's best ever striker, his amazing goal scoring record (17 goals in 18 games internationally) means his name is almost written in stone when it comes to team selection. His pace, stamina and skill make him the best player in the league at the moment. At the age of just 21, and already captain of the side, his future looks very bright.
Caps: 18 Goals: 17 Age: 21 Club: Oldcastle Athletic
Almost the perfect compliment to Ackle, Hockaday can hold off defenders, send in crosses, and create the perfect scoring oppurtunity.
Caps: 13 Goals: 4 Age: 24 Club: MK Killers
Almost a carbon copy of Hockaday, his selection has been disrupted by injury, cards, and the fact that he has difficulty scoring.
Caps: 4 Goals: 1 Age: 29 Club: Killers FC
Often comes on towards the end of games, scoring vital goals. The oldest member of the squad, he has earned the nickname 'supersub' over the years.
Caps: 6 Goals: 1 Age: 32 Club: Zinkak United
Another prolific goalscorer, he is often in the right place at the right time. More of a poacher than a trickster.
Caps: 16 Goals: 8 Age: 26 Club: New Beetle

Preferred Starting XI: 4-3-2-1
----------------Ackle----------------
-------Hockaday--Postgate-------
Fence---------Carlo--------Warne
Call-----Knox-----Fenn-----Murphy
----------------Carr-----------------
Image

Coming straight off the back of their Quarter Final loss in the Baptism of Fire, the squad will be looking to start their World Cup careers well in qualifying. Captain Jack Ackle said yesterday that the team were in good spirits going into the tournament, and were hoping that a good performance here would bode well for future tournaments. With Manager Michael Griffiths naming a very attack minded squad, things are looking up for the DSF national Football team.

Bears Armed

‘The Bear-Belles’

National football organisation: ‘Bears Armed Association for Soccer’ (= ‘BAAS’). (Chairbear: Arrannah Graye [Chairbear of River City S.C.])

National anthem (for sports): ‘The Banner Green And Gold’.

Yes, it still is an all-female team. As I’ve explained before, this is because the main ball-game that's traditionally been played in Bears Armed is actually a form of Rugby, but [for several reasons] the professional league for that sport is all-male and so some of the female players decided that switching to Soccer — and trying to establish a professional league for that sport for themselves instead — might be a viable alternative: They were right, because that professional league was founded shortly after WC44 and so has now been in operation for over an eightSquared of years.

All of the players are actual Ursines (i.e. anthropomorpic, bipedal Bears)], except for any whom I actually specify as being members of other ‘peoples’ instead. The Harr'aynau people are physically human (more-or-less, anyway, although inclined towards heavy builds & hairiness), but are spiritually & culturally Ursine instead.

According to Bears Armed’s timeline, the qualifiers for WC61 take place in 2077-’78AD, and the Cup proper in 2079AD: All figures given here for people’s ages and lengths of experience are the values applying in the first of those three years.

Manager & Chief Coach: Urra ‘Honey’ SunBlesséd _ A female Ursine from the Sun Clan, she has 72(!) years of experience in football and played for the Bear-Belles from BoF#31 right through into WC#57. She is now 89 years old but, although not amongst the people from the team’s former staff who were “rejuvenated” in 2042, still seems quite ‘young’ both physically and mentally. She is right-pawed, with ‘honey-brown’ fur, and has very good eyesight even by human (rather than Ursine) standards. She is a very accurate kicker, and was therefore one of the usual first choices for taking free kicks & penalties. Her nickname comes from her fur-colour, and her very sweet nature: Originally it was also because (as we must admit…) she was rather “thick”, but then she ‘grew-up’ mentally during WWC12 & the qualifiers for WC50 so that now she has a verrry good mind indeed… She acted as manager for the [“unified”] U21 teams that Bears Armed entered in DBC13 (=> runners-up) and DBC14 (=> quarter-finals), whilst WC58 (with its qualifiers) was her first competition in charge of the country’s senior team.

Deputy Manager (Admin): Amarra Marra o Harruor
(female Ursine, from Clan Harruor Erruur; formerly a staff member at BAAS, appointed to this job just before DBC21; age = 36, fur = medium-brown).

Deputy Manager (Coaching): Cierra o Vorross
(female Ursine; Clan = GreenWoods, age = 46, left-pawed, fur = light brown with paler reddish highlights. She made her international debut as a player as a last-minute member of the smaller-than-planned team that represented Bears Armed in DBC15, having travelled to that competition as a supporter but then been “drafted” to fill one of their vacant places due to her status as the ‘National Under-15 Keepy-Uppy Champion’; having become a professional footballer she then played for River City as a Midfielder and was also a member of the Bear-Belles [usual position = Midfield Left] until & including the ‘Golden Honeycomb’ friendly before the qualifiers for WC60 began: playing experience = 29 years; appointed to this job for the WC60 qualifiers & onwards).

Defensive Coach: Jhargeena o Wirrene
(female Ursine; Clan = Herrchaum, age = 42, right-pawed, fur = very light brown with some reddish hints; languages spoken = Verrene, Ursine ['HeartWoods' dialect], and English; religion = 'Wookha' ; she sometimes seems to have a sort of "sixth sense" about what's going to happen on the pitch during the next few moments; off of the pitch, she favours loose skirts and draped scarves in bright (& often contrasting) colours, with more jewellery than is typical for Ursines (i.e. her people's equivalent of a 'Gypsy chic' look…) in emulation of her [rather distant] relative Arna-Maggra; the only new addition to the team for WC56, she had actually been short-listed for DBC17 but had had to stay at home instead back then due to a family emergency; she played for Mighty Herrchaum as a Defender, and became a member of the Bear-Belles [usual position = Left Back] until & including the ‘Golden Honeycomb’ friendly before the qualifiers for WC60 began: playing experience = 23 years; appointed to this job for the WC60 qualifiers & onwards).

Attacking Coach: Taborra Sheerh
(female Tiggrahth'hrra [i.e. anthropomorphic Tiger]; Clan = Tiggrahth'hrra; age = 40 years, right-pawed, fur = black with orange stripes; "Fast and furious"; she played for Kingly City as a Lynchpin, Midfielder, or Forward, for 13 years [until just before these qualifiers began] and was widely credited with playing a major role in powering that team’s rise back up through the Upper Division from relegation-threatened to a regular place in the top four; She made her international debut in WC57 ‘proper’ [ joining the Belles after the qualifying stages of that tournament; playing experience = 14 years; appointed to this job for the WC60 qualifiers & onwards).

Doctor: Rebearrch’hra o RedRose
(female Ursine, from the RedRose ‘Free Sept’; age = 41, left-pawed, fur = medium brown with reddish highlights; hired just before DBC21.)

Physiotherapist: Behrthye NorthWalker
(female Harr’aynau [humanoid], from Clan WildWoods; age = 37, right-handed, hair = ginger; hired just before DBC21.)

Routemaster (this job involves handling all of the squad’s travelling arrangements): This is currently a part of Amarra Marra o Harruor’s duties.

Chaplain, ‘One Plus Seven’: Urrsulha Nightfall
(female Ursine from the Silver-of-Night; age = early-40s, left-pawed, fur = silvery; assigned to this job, by the Great Medicine Society, just before the qualifiers for WC57.)

Chaplain, Ursion: Derrik Ommin
(male Ursine, from Clan Artorran; age = 43; right-pawed, fur = light brown & fairly short, he is a bit closer to ‘human’ in shape than is the average Ursine; seconded to this post from the staff of the ArchPriest of New Sarrum, who is the Earthly head of the Ursion Church; he is a keen student of Football, both nationally & internationally, and can bore for Bears Armed on the details of teams’ records & players’ careers [and about the statistics involved, too: Did I mention yet that he originally trained as a statistician? ^_^ ] — if you give him even half a chance…)

Security Chief: Major Arran Warrd
(male Ursine, from Clan Herrchaum; age = 42, left-pawed, fur = dark grey; easily overlooked, most of the time; seconded from [an unspecified unit within] the Confederal Army to this job just before the qualifiers for WC57.)

Caterers: Jorrdon Blue.

‘Mascot’: ‘The Wise Grorrfinn’
(male ‘TrueBear’; age = undisclosed [but considering some of his appearances in old stories apparently somewhere over 1’500, at least...], ambidextrous, fur = medium-brown) (During WC54 it was revealed that he is the maternal grandfather of Urra ‘Honey’ SunBlesséd.)

Roster

(#1) Marra o Mara _ Clan = BerryGlades; Home team = ‘Belgium FC’ (The Babbage Islands) (transferred shortly before WC#56’s qualifiers began), category & usual position = Goalkeeper, experience = 29 years, proven as a verrry good goalie; age = 43 years, left-pawed, fur = dark-medium brown. (DBC17 was her international debut.)

(#5) Marranna NorthStar _ Clan = NorthStar [‘Free Sept’]; home team = NorthPort Navigators, category & usual position = Goalkeeper, experience = 14 years; age = 27 years, right-pawed, fur = very light brown, she has very quick reflexes and keen senses. (She made her international debut in DBC21.)

(#31) Sa’marra o Barrdenn _ Clan = GreenWoods; home team = Barrden Barbariennes, category & usual position = Goalkeeper, experience = 12 years; age = 27 years, left-pawed, fur = dark-medium brown & quite long, she is not only rather tall (7’2”) but has a deceptively long reach even in proportion to that height. (She made her international debut in the qualifiers for WC60.)

(#2) Marrla o SouthWoods _ Clan = WestWoods; Home team = Wiston United, category = Defender, usual position = Right Back, experience = 11 years; age = 24 years, right-pawed, fur = medium-brown. (She made her international debut in a friendly match against The Babbage Islands during the year before the qualifiers for WC60 began.)

(#3) Irrie o Herrin _ Clan = Urrset (Northern); Home team = NorthGate Nomads, category = Defender, usual position = Left Back, experience = 24 years; age = 37 years, left-pawed, fur = russet. (She made her international debut in DBC18, as a substitute, and also then played as a starter in DBC19.)

(#16) Lueth’hree Redwood _ Clan = Redwood; home team = River City, category = Defender, usual position = Left Back, experience = 15 years; age = 25 years, left-pawed, fur = medium-brown. (She made her international debut in DBC21, and also played in Brevity Cup 2, both of which the Bears won, before the qualifiers for WC60....)

(#17) Urratharra o SouthWoods _ Clan = WestWoods; home team = GramBridge Town, category = Defender or Midfielder, preferred & usual position = Right Back, experience = 17 years; age = 29 years, right-pawed, fur = medium-brown. (She made her international debut in DBC19, as a substitute, and was then a starter in DBC20, before joining the senior team for Brevity Cup 2 and the qualifiers for WC60.)

(#32) Samarh’hra GreenFells _ Clan = GreenWoods. Home team = River City, category = Defender, preferred position = Right Back, experience = 14 years; age = 29, ambidextrous, fur = medium-dark brown & quite [but not “excessively”] long. (She made her international debut in World Cup 59 ‘proper’ [rather than in its qualifying stages].)

(#4) Hirrdhra o TrueHeart _ Clan = BerryGlades; Home team = Merlchester Rovers, category = Midfielder or Defender, usual position = Lynchpin, experience = 27 years; age = 37 years, left-pawed, fur = medium-brown with [natural] ‘strawberry’ highlights; seems to have a knack for anticipating opponents’ actions; also qualified as a Dream Interpreter. (She made her international debut in DBC18, as a starting Midfielder & the Captain, shifting to Lynchpin -- & still Captain – in DBC19, but some of you may also remember her as a spectator from WC54...) She is now this team’s Captain.

(#26) Darrarlha o GoodSword _ Clan = Sun; Home team = Sun Valley Smashers, category = Defender or Lynchpin or Midfielder, usual position = Lynchpin, experience = 14 years; age = 28 years, ambidextrous, fur = blonde; a superlative player, and a good tactician. (She made her international debut in DBC21, which her team won, and then joined the Belles for WC59.) She wears with pride the same number that her aunt Urrthra o GoodSword — who died heroically in the fighting against the ‘Dead Bears Walking’ — bore through several Cups.

(#33) Irdh’hrra o Errurr _ Clan = Errurr Erruur; Home team = PassPort Athletic, category = Lynchpin or Midfielder, usual position = Lynchpin, experience = 11 years; age = 26 years, left-pawed, fur = medium-brown, “average” looking but surprisingly fast. (She made her international debut in WC60.)

(#6) Bruinhilda Addarich’-darthhrurr _ Clan = Vasrbora. Home team = LakePort Lionesses, category = Defender / (Defensive) Midfielder, preferred position = Midfield Left or Left Back, experience = 15 years; age = 29, left-pawed, fur = very light brown, relatively light build. (She made her international debut in World Cup 59 ‘proper’ [rather than in its qualifying stages].)

(#7) Karramarrsar Tharrarra _ Clan = Ostbora; Home team = OstPort Dynamo, category = Midfielder, usual position = Midfield Right, experience = 24 years; age = 37 years, right-pawed, fur = light brown; first cousin of # 14, with whom she works verrry well. (She made her international debut in DBC18, as a starter, and also filled that role during DBC19.)

(#20) Urma Lightning _ Clan = Gunnar; Home team = Hero’s Park Heroines, category = Midfielder, usual position = Midfield Right, experience = 16 years; age = 29, right-pawed, fur = light brown. (She made her international debut in Brevity Cup 1.)

(#21) Serranna Foirrethin’s-daughter _ Vokkssurr (i.e. anthropomorphic Fox) _ Clan = WildWoods; Home team = Urrvan’s Avengers, category = Midfielder or Winger, preferred position = Midfield left but also useful as Outside Left or even on the right as well, experience = 9 years; age = 24, left-pawed, fur = mostly dark chestnut but with rather pale throat & front. (This is her international debut.)

(#11) Harrashia o Redwood _ Clan = Redwood; home team = Merlchester Rovers, category = Forward /Winger/Midfielder usual position = Left forward (‘Inside Left’), experience = 21 years; age = 34 years, ambidextrous, fur = medium-brown with hints of russet; she is a great-great-niece of Harroya “of the Rovers” o Redwood, former captain of the Bear-Belles, but gained this place on merit. (She made her international debut as a substitute in DBC 19, joining the Belles for WC57.)

(#12) Imbrhra/Umbrhra _ Clan = Chargh’ghrarr; Home team = Heroes’ Park Harlequins, category = Forward, usual position = Centre Forward, experience = 25 years; age = 35 years, left-pawed/right-pawed, fur = dark-medium brown & rather long; somewhat over 7’ tall and broad in proportion, but certainly not slow or clumsy; actually a pair of identical twins who count as a single person for legal purposes and who often act as though they share a single mind, the two halves of this player will normally stay close together on the pitch and might keep passing the ball back-&-forth. (She made her international debut in DBC18, as a substitute, and was then a starter for the ‘Baby Belles’ through DBC19, joining the Belles for WC57.)

(#13) Amarra Sunwatcher _ Clan = Sun; Home team = Sun Valley Smashers, category = Forward, usual position = Right Forward (‘Inside Right’), experience = 18 years; age = 29 years, right-pawed, fur = “oatmeal” colour, eyesight good even by human standards, very fast on her feet, very accurate in ‘set pieces’ for which she is therefore one of the favoured takers. (She made her international debut in DBC20.)

[#23] Syrrae o Wirrenne _Clan = Herrchaum; Home team = Merlchester Rovers, category = Forward, usual position = Left Forward (Inside Left) but also good as Centre Forward, experience = 14 years; age = 28, left-pawed, fur = ‘platinum-blonde’; seems to have an [almost?] psychic instinct about where the ball and other players will be next. (She made her international debut in Brevity Cup 1.)

(#24) Thyrra Darma’s-darthhrr _ Clan = Thulean; Home team = Ursinborkh Angels, category = Forward, usual position = Right Forward (but has also done well as a Centre Forward), experience = 12 years; age = 25, right-pawed, fur = white [‘polar’], big — her height is 7’5”, and she’s built to match — but fast & agile anyway. (She made her international debut as a reserve, who did get some playing time, in the team that won DBC21.)

(#25) Urrth’hrra o Barrdenn _ Clan = GreenWoods; Home team = Barrdenn Barbariennes, category = Forward, usual position = Left Forward (‘Inside Left’), experience = 17 years; age = 29 years, right-pawed, fur = dark brown & quite long. (She made her international debut in DBC20 and also played in DBC21.)

(#34) Sarrathrie Sevens _ Clan = Clouded Sun [Free Sept]; Home team = River City, category = Forward, usual position = (but versatile), experience = 5 years; age = 21, ambidextrous, fur = cream; is a incredibly accurate shot, partly because she has very good sight even by human standards, is very accurate agile too. (She actually made her international debut as a member of the Bears’ team for DBC22, although the roster for that squad has never been made widely known, but these qualifiers fro WC61 are her first time playing for her country again since then: She’s been verry thoroughly vetted, and seems to have been innocent of any involvement in whatever conspiracy it was that over-rode own BAAS’s plans for that earlier tournament.)

(#14) Karramarrsar Thyrrinthra _ Clan = Ostbora; Home team = OstPort Dynamo, category = Winger, usual position = Right Winger (‘Outside Right’), experience = 24 years; age = 37 years, right-pawed, fur = light brown; first cousin of #7, with whom she works well. (She made her international debut in DBC18, as a starter, and then filled the same role in DBC19, joining the Belles for WC57.)

(#15) Harrietta Karra o Hara _ Invisible Wabbit; Clan = BerryGlades (by adoption); home team = WideWindle Wanderers, category = Winger or Midfielder, usual position = Left Winger (' Outside Left'), experience = 13+ years; age = ???, ambidextrous, fur = light grey; she is INVISIBLE to most "mundane" people, but those should still be able to see the kit that she's wearing; less likely to resort to "ridiculous" trickery than might be the case in an all-Wabbit team, but still quite likely to do things like using her long ears to hold the ball in place on top of her head or running along on her hands whilst juggling the ball with her feet, both of which would of course make tackling her [within the rules] rather difficult. (WC59 was her international debut.)

(#30) Marra-Harra o Dusk _ Clan = Urrset; home team = Sun Valley Smashers, category = Winger or [Attacking] Midfielder, preferred & usual position = Left Winger (Outside Left), experience = 14 years; age = 26, left-footed, fur= reddish-brown, good at getting in where she isn’t expected. (She made her international debut in DBC21.)

(#27) Hilgh’hra Westlander _ Harr’aynau humanoid; Clan = Redwood; home team = LakePort Lionesses, category = Forward or Winger, preferred & usual position = Right Forward (Inside Right) or Right Winger, experience = 13 years; age = 24, right-pawed, hair = ginger. She made her international debut in Brevity Cup 2.)

Usual Starters = #1-4, 6-7, 11-15
Usual Substitutes = #5, 16, 20, 23-24, 26, 30.
(#1, 4, & 12, might start some games as substitutes – replaced as starters by #15, 26, or 23, respectively – instead, probably against low-ranked opponents, and if they do start then they’re a bit more likely to be replaced mid-game now than was the case when they were younger.)

Style: Offensive, modifier = +3.5… ("A good offence is the best defence"...)
Their usual formation will include a front row of at least 5 (normally arranged as 3 strikers & 2 wingers), with 2 midfielders, 2 backs, and either a ‘Defensive Centre’ (whose starting position would be at the midpoint of an imaginary cross drawn between those other four non-forwards’ positions) or a third midfielder depending on the Manager’s decision before each match.

Choose my goalscorers: Y (but the Forwards, and then the Wingers, are likeliest to fill this role...)
Godmod Scoring Events: Y

RP injuries to my players / Godmod injuries to my players / Hand out Yellow cards to my players / Hand out Red cards to my players: Y to all, at least to start with, but remember what I've written here and keep it in limits accordingly... Any serious offences by my players would probably result in injuries to your players, and causing any serious injuries to my players would probably require such obviously-deliberate attacks that your players would get yellow or even red cards as a result too. Don’t kill anybody, or inflict injuries that would be serious enough to end careers, without checking with me & getting my approval (which is unlikely to be granted…) first.

Godmod Other Events: Y, I suppose, at least as long as you do so in an AMUSING way... but please remember that Ursines are fully sapient beings, as much as Humans are, not instinct-driven animals. Oh, and of course female Ursines are not sexually interested in Humans (of either sex), and it's very unlikely that female Harr'ayanau would be either. Please don't have them run amok or outright revert to animality, without checking by TG first, don't make assumptions about their views on politics or religion, and don't do anything that would make more than one of them incapable of playing in their next game...

Kit: This incarnation of the team will normally wear the usual set of designs (from ‘ediraf’) that the Belles have favoured in the past, with the ‘Association’ badges correctly staying ‘BAAS’ rather than [the now obsolete] ‘BAMAS’. See "here" for details. However they will switch into copies of the NorthBears old violet-and-orange strip instead for Pink Cup matches.
Bears Armed has traditionally used base-8 arithmetic, for several reasons, and this has affected the set of numbers used for this team’s players: The number “22” has traditionally been left unassigned out of respect for its first [& only] wearer who died a heroine’s death during the year immediately following WC44, and now the number "10" has likewise been withdrawn from use…

Home grounds

1/. Wimbley Stadium:[/b] Located a few miles to the north-north-west of Council Groves (our capital city), to which it is connected by rail as well as by road, this stadium was built from scratch — on part of a former Confederal Army base’s site — shortly before the qualifiers for WC52 began as a replacement for the Bear-Belles original “home” at ‘Plumtrees Park’ which has now been demolished. Its current capacity is approximately 60'000 for Ursines: Fitting about 40’000 humans into the visiting fans' half should be possible, and so that's as many as we'll let into the country. Accommodation for visiting teams & their staffs will be provided in a new hotel, less than a mile away, which has staff who are accustomed to dealing with Humans as well as with Ursines. The various other hotels in that complex and those at Council Groves can now provide about 12’000 rooms at a time, at varying prices, although of course some of those may already have been booked by people who have nothing to do with the Cup. Accommodation (at a fairly basic level) for up to 15’000 supporters will be available, at reasonable prices, in students' residences for the National University’s campus in that city: if any more than all of those facilities put together can house want to attend a match then they’ll have to borrow space in the area’s remaining Army camp instead...
There are still no direct inter-regional flights into Council Groves, so that visitors will have to travel by way of one of our neighbours and then continue onwards by one of the limited number of "local" air-flights or by rail. (People planning to arrive by rail will still have to travel via the nation of Mikitivity, but extra services will be organised on that route...)

2./ ‘NorthLands National Stadium’: Located at NorthPort, the most cosmopolitan city in The Ursine Northlands, this facility was originally built for use by the 'Northbears' WC49’s qualifiers. Unfortunately the place has since seen rather less use than was originally hoped, but it is still in good condition and will hold about 43’000 Ursines or over 60’000 humans (or, of course, proportionate numbers of a mixture of those two species) because it was deliberately built to be rather larger than 'Plumtrees Park' which was then the Mainland's 'national' stadium…
This site will be used for some of the Belles’ home games (list to be added), and also for some of their friendlies & matches in other Cups during this period as specified separately.
Foreigners coming to this stadium may either travel to the ‘Mainland’ and then continue hence via a set of ancient [& probably magical] ‘Gates’ that link the country’s two sections — completing their journey by either rail or riverboat after that — or take ship directly to NorthPort.

NOTES

Ursines may tend to be a bit less agile & slower to accelerate than humans on average, but this team's members were carefully selected so the gap between them & their opponents in this respect should be narrower than some people might expect. They do tend to have [slightly] poorer eyesight than humans, on the whole (although the members of both Clan Gunnar and the Sun Clan are generally an exception to this rule, and the eyesight of the latter group is actually often at [slightly] better-than-human levels instead), so long-distance passes & shots at goal will tend to be rarer behaviour for them than they are for human teams... but their typical size & strength mean that when they're running with the ball it will probably take a very brave human — as well as a very skilled one — to tackle them successfully (or, at least, one who has reasonable experience of playing against Ursines…), which should balance that factor pretty well. They don’t jump very well, but then they’re generally rather taller than most Human players to start with so they shouldn’t need to jump as often in order to intercept [relatively] high shots...
Ursines are physically robust, of course, which means that they're much less likely than humans are to suffer injuries in falls or collisions. The females of this species are more even-tempered than the males, and the team's members will try to stay on their best behaviour not only in order to do well in this contest but also to impress upon the watching humans that Ursines aren't just "dumb beasts". They will not 'dive', or feign injury in other ways, because suggesting that they could be harmed so easily goes strongly against the grain. ‘Northlanders’ are maybe not quite as "civilised" as the 'Mainlanders'… or, at any rate, that’s the traditional stereotype..
Cold weather should pose no problem to them, even if there's snow or ice on the pitch, but tropical heat might prove awkward...

Unless our hosts at the match in question object, this team's members (including the designated substitutes for the match in question) will perform a [fairly short] ritual that's called the 'harrdiharr' on the pitch just before play begins... This is a traditional war-dance, meant to over-awe opponents, that has come to be a customary prelude for team games as well (similar to the [RL] New Zealanders' 'haka'...). : )
As has now been seen during various tournaments, some of our fans like to take drums — and possibly also 'Urrs-horns' [which are similar to Alpenhorns, cow-horns, or other "musical instruments", too — along to the matches…

The team is accompanied by a number of sapient Ravens, who are there both to gather information about the rival sides and to provide air cover in case of hostile waterfowl.

The Confrederated Clans (and other Confrederated Bodys) of the Free Bears of Bears Armed
(includes The Ursine NorthLands) Demonym = Bear[s]; adjective = ‘Urrsish’.
Population = just under 20 million. Economy = only Thriving. Average Life expectancy = c.60 years. If the nation is classified as 'Anarchy' there still is a [strictly limited] national government... and those aren't "biker gangs", they're traditional cross-Clan 'Warrior Societies', generally respected rather than feared.
