I expect this to be a good RP, and as such, I must demand quality from my players. Thus, anyone who makes extremely short and/or (Although the two usually go hand-by-hand anyways) undetailed posts will receive a warning.
If you quit, and say you aren't joking, that's it. Goodbye, you're on your own, don't let the door hit you on the way out.
Unless I am notified beforehand, if a player is inactive for three days, I will take over his or her character(s) if it is ever needed to advance the plot, and the player will receive a warning. If the player is inactive for five days, unless he or she can justify his or her absence, he or she will be removed from the RP.
Do not incur in godmodding, unless other player(s) have agreed to allow you to control their characters or otherwise the scenario had been set up beforehand.
This rp, like all of Nightkill's rps, used to move very damn fast. From here on in, I'm re-enacting Night's "three day" policy to fix the recent stalling.
This rp is based off the New World of Darkness, with Demon: The Fallen thrown in, along with my own little twists. A notable thing is that at the beginning of this rp, you are an ordinary human completely unaware of the supernatural. Other than that, you can have as much customization as you want. Be a crooked cop, a Mormon rock star, a mental patient, a honors student with a secret drug problem...whatever.
You are in the small town of Jasper, California. A sleepy mining town, you could be here for any amount of reasons. You could live here, be visiting friends, killing your most recent victim, attending a rock concert, filming a movie...whatever.
Then everyone in Jasper just disappears. You and the other PCs are the only ones left. You meet a man named Mr. G, who explains that the world is considerably bigger and stranger than you imagined it to be...
At the beginning of this rp, you are an ordinary human. As the rp goes on, you may gain powers, change species, etc. At the beginning, you are an ordinary human. Got that?
There are reasons for this. You get better character development when every character isn't a walking One Man Army, and better development if they gain their powers through time.
As DM, I will control the NPCs.
You may also note the lack of actual information about this world in my OP, compared to Elfen High, which has several paragraphs and subsections about that world. This is to help you not understand a damn thing about the supernatural, since your characters sure won't. As you begin encountering more supernatural things, I'll tell you more things. Or the NPCs will. Either way, the info in this OP is likely to increase.
Basic premise: So we have a diverse cast of characters. The story starts with them meeting in the Town Square of Jasper, California, where everyone else just disappears. They meet a man named Mr. G, who informs them they have to go to Las Vegas and speak with a man named Nicholas Carry. They originally refuse and ask why the fuck this guy is asking.
Then Mr. G proves he's a basically godlike being and teleports them to Vegas, where they have to follow his instructions. They meet Nicholas Carry, who despises Mr. G. He tells the PCs that Mr. G is a storyteller, and that the PCs are the unfortunate characters in his current story. Carry ends up giving the PCs a quest- find the artifact called the Coiled Viper and bring it back to him. Carry also states he's a vampire, and reveals to the PCs that lots of supernatural creatures walk around, while humans remain unaware.
The PCs go to San Francisco to find the artifact. On the plane ride Mr. G appears, tells the PCs they have to find the Coiled Viper in 30 days, and they have to stay in SF. G also casually kills off a character.
The characters end up in San Francisco, where a lot of shit happens. But that's the basic premise before the plot kicks off for real and the characters were given freedom.
