Procedural Notes:

  • The entry from Ilona FC (Nexxus Drako), submitted before the first post of this cycle's competition, will be accepted for next cycle's Cygnus Cup, as Mbnaosn Megabytes were submitted as entrants for this edition. In case another cup competition is scorinated and new entrants are submitted before the next UICA deadline, those entries will be replaced accordingly.
  • The entries from Turori and Legalese were accepted on the condition that next season's entrants qualify for the competition on sporting merit. Failure to comply with this will result in the exclusion of their entries for next season.
  • The entry from Wanko Nokuru (The Royal Barangay), originally submitted for the next Cygnus Cup (the 30th) was accepted for this edition (the 29th). A not-so-friendly reminder from the Cygnus Cup Organizing Committee was sent to the Royal Barangay FA requesting them to list their qualifiers with the correct edition number in the future, in order to avoid exclusion from the competition.
  • The Cygnus Cup Organizing Committee has also noted the refusal of the Futbol Iturributako Federazioa to submit any entrants into the competition, including Iturributa United, who happen to be the current titleholder. As a result, both the FIF and Iturributa United will be banned from entering the next three Cygnus Cup editions, both facing a hefty fine as well.

Welcome one and all to the Cygnus Cup, once again organized by the Valladar Football Association. The 29th Cygnus Cup sees an increase in participation to 44 teams from equal number of associations. Iturributa United, the title holders, despite qualifying as defending champions had their entry revoked by the Iturributan FA and thus will not be taking part in the competition, having to face the relevant penalties as explained in the procedural notes. Twenty-four teams will take part in a preliminary round, with the twelve winners joining the remaining 20 clubs in the first round proper, from which we will proceed with the usual knockout format all the way to the final. Vanorian side Raynor City United and Carter FC from Jasiyun are among the favourites to win this edition, but Urbizania Wanderers might want to rain on their parade after having been denied the right to lift the Cup Winners' Cup trophy twice in the past.

Final Site Election

The Cygnus Cup Organizing Committee members were rather shocked at the sudden influx of interest in hosting the Cygnus Cup final, after seasons full of lone bids and host votes won by acclamation. With interest hailing from Ko-oren, Valanora, Felix, Yttribia, and Equestrian States, the Organizing Committee decided to choose the winning bid by inviting representatives from the five bids to take part in a dangerous yachting race through the Charruterran half of the Sea of Fire, which was ultimately won by the Yttrbian delegation. So, the 29th Cygnus Cup Final will be hosted at Casa Naranja in Stemanisis, Yttribia (Cap. 55,000).

Notes for Cygnus Cup Entry

  • Each association may enter ONE club into the Cygnus Cup, with the exception of Apox which may enter one club in addition to Barbury Town.
  • Should Barbury Town win their qualifying national association or league cup, the spot held over for a second Apoxian entrant will be vacated.
  • Clubs can only qualify through ONE domestic cup competition.
  • Each user may enter clubs from no more than two associations.
  • With the exception of Barbury Town, all entered teams must have won a national association or league cup; Super Cup winners and winners of play-offs cannot be entered.
  • Entrants must be posted in the International Domestic Soccer NewsWires (i.e. this thread), and at least the final must have been scorinated and posted (with a link in the IDSN if it is posted elsewhere).
  • The deadline for Cygnus Cup entry will expire at the same time as the UICA one.

Stadium bids for the final of the 30th edition of the Cygnus Cup will not be received, since a decision was made by the Organizing Committee to host the next edition's Cygnus Cup final at Stade de Foix-Jules Picot, in Bezieres (Valladares), which is able to seat 63,000 people and is the home stadium for Cygnus Cup tri-champion AS Bezieres.

UICA Partner Bid: Curio

Curio is the Syndicate's premier company for producing board games of many styles. Founded over 100 years ago in the small northern town of Simoleq, Curio began as a card company, creating a range of playing cards used for various tournaments, and special "trick decks" for aspiring magicians. However, noticing the resurgence in the board game market at the time, Curio assembled a team of the most creative minds together to produce its first board game - Espionage. Eau Claire Aris FC no more
Club to merge with Royal PFC

The Chairman of the Board of Directors for Eau Claire Aris Football Club delivered devastating and shocking news to the team’s fans, stating that the club had been sold to the government run Royal Professional Footballers’ Club. Aris FC’s recent results include a League Cup Semifinal appearance and advancement to the Third Preliminary Round in the Globe Cup.

Reportedly, the move was made due to decreasing attendances at Football matches in the city, as Eau Claire's Baseball and American Football teams continue to grow in popularity.

The Chairman’s announcement gave the reason as the following, “Our share of the market was getting squeezed, and I’m just not sure Eau Claire can continue to support the number of Football teams that it currently has. For this reason, the club’s Board of Directors decided that the best step forward was to merge the club with the Royal Professional Footballers’ Club that is owned and operated by the government.”

Eau Claire Aris FC is the only other club besides Scott City FC and Augusta to have lifted the Premier League title, having done so in Season 4. They were an original member of the Premier League, when it was formed in June of 2011.

This merger marks the first time that a club has willingly joined Royal PFC, previously, Royal PFC, using the power granted to it by the Government, had liquidated smaller clubs.

Details of the Merger
The records of the club will continue to be listed under those of the Eau Claire Aris FC name. The club’s stadium, Aris Field, which seats 29,126, will be sold to the University of Eau Claire, and be renamed University Field.

The players of the Aris FC senior team will be split between the Royal PFC’s first team and its reserves side, while Aris’ two youth teams will continue to operate as before, just in a different stadium and under a different name. The former players of Royal PFC’s reserve team will either be placed on the rosters of the youth teams or be sent away to other clubs, likely to be in the lower division.

Royal PFC will leave League One and take Eau Claire Aris’ place in the Premier League, while the Royal PFC Reserves will take the senior sides spot in League One. The U-21 and U-17 sides, will remain in their respective groups in Amateur League Level Three.

The move was finalized prior to the start of Darmen Cup competition, and as such, Eau Claire’s City Cup will be missing three clubs. It will still be one of the larger city cup’s, with 11 teams, but with the addition of two clubs in Scott City (the U-21 and U-17 sides), the capital’s City Cup will include 46 teams.

Aris FC’s UICA ranking should be transferred to Royal PFC, barring a UICA decision otherwise.

Nur al Din Lambert to return to Darmen
Recent events in Astograth and Iturributa force move

When Tor Tong Lee returned from his two seasons with Therakham ZL, the owners of the 12 Darmeni Premier League teams (obviously this was before the sudden explosion in the number of teams in the Darmeni Football season, and the expansion of the Premier League to 20 teams) competed together in a Decathlon to see who would have the rights to sign Lee to a contract. The owner (or more likely an appointed local high school athletics star, as George Kalenda was, and still is, a Member of Parliament) of the Rogerton Whitecaps emerged victorious, while Lee’s former Darmeni club, Eau Claire Aris FC (which of course had now been merged with Royal PFC) were left without their former star. Lee would eventually join Bryan Faulkner and Scott City FC after several seasons in Rogerton, as part of the so called “dream team” that has failed to deliver 100+ point performances that many would expect.

Speaking of Bryan Faulkner, when he returned from Civil Citizenry after spending several seasons there, he invited over thirty clubs to kick an inflated ball around on a field, with the prize for the winner being the right to put money in Faulkner’s pocket. This time, Scott City FC used their superb footballing skills to claim the “Faulkner Invitational” title and add a superstar striker to their roster. One of the fun facts (I’m not sure this is the correct usage of parenthesis) associated with the Faulkner Invitational is the name of the team that lost the final match and missed out on signing Faulkner to a multi-million Baba contract. Any guesses?

If you guessed Eau Claire Aris FC (Royal PFC) you are correct.

So for the third time (nothing to see here), a big name National Team star returns from his playing time abroad, and clubs are scrambling to sign him. But rumors have been surfacing that a second Decathlon, or an “al Din Lambert Invitational” may be held to decide where the 22 year old Defensive Midfielder will play Season XII.

The one rumor we can’t seem to get out of our minds involves Royal PFC (Eau Claire Aris FC). According to some (uhm...) sources, the owners of the former club from Eau Claire are putting pressure on the Government to force Nur al Din Lambert to sign with the club, so as to avoid letting a star slip from their grasp for a third straight time.

Our suggestion, a Chess-boxing competition among substitute Goalkeepers. Or Equipment Managers. Or front desk Secretaries (you know, the ones who wear skirts and bright red lipstick). (I like > ()()()()()()()()()()()()()())

Welcome to the eleventh edition of the Campionato Esportivano di Campeones, the second edition organized by the Konsehong Pampalakasan ng Maharlikang Barangay (KPMB). Fifty-two participants from twenty-six associations were accepted for this tournament. Procedural Notes
  • Only associations who explicitly stated their intent to enter the CEdC were accepted.
  • The entries of Armakistan (ARM) were accepted, despite sending the documents for entry late such that they were not included in the 54th cycle of the UICA.
  • The entry of Oceania (FEL) was rejected, because CEdC regulations state that one of the two spots entitled to the association should be allotted to league champions. Real Santa Maria, as the league champion, was entered instead.
  • The association codes used in the CEdC are from the UICA association code list. Nations not entered in UICA were set a TLA that is not contradicting with any used TLA in the list.
  • The entries of Arab County (ARN) were rejected as the association failed to submit proper documentation regarding their home stadium, after researches from the KPMB showed that the home venues of the clubs were inexistent.
  • With fifty-two entrants for the competition, the champions of the twelve highest associations from the UICA coefficients were given a bye in the second round. All other teams started in the first round.

In the competition's second All-Apoxian final, FC Endeavour managed to eke out a 1-0 victory over league champions and UICA Champions Cup semifinalist Barbury Town to be the third Apoxian club to win the competition, and the fourth time a club from Apox won the trophy. Special thanks to New Wolfopolis and Northern Sunrise Islands for participating in the logo competition.

For the twelfth edition of the CEdC, here are the things to take note of:
  • Football Associations from Esportiva must indicate their intent to enter the Campionato Esportivano di Campeones in their domestic submissions in the International Domestic Soccer Newswires thread. This can be done by adding the entries for the CEdC in the UICA submissions box or other possible means.
  • Submission of entries will open after Commerce Heights scorinates the Super Cup (the last of the series of scorinations during the UICA) of the last UICA cycle and will close when Commerce Heights post his procedural notes for the current cycle in this thread. A sample is linked here. Any nation leaving Esportiva or CTEing before cutoff will have its entries rejected.
  • The CEdC accepts the maximum of two clubs, one of which must be a domestic league champion (or the highest placed team in multiassociational leagues) per association, and this club should be the first nominated team per association. Maximum of one puppet association can be entered. Multiassociational leagues involving two or more Esportivan associations shall have a maximum of four entrants, with each association entering no more than two entries. Puppet entries should be declared, as per UICA regulations.
  • Associations interested to bid for the final site of the next CEdC shall post their stadium bid with a format similar to that of the UICA. If there are no bids received, then the default venue will be at the Mall of Esportiva Stadium in Zalesgon, The Royal Barangay.

The Schiavone Football Federation today announced that the coming season of the SchiavOne will feature ten teams, two more than the eight that were originally anticipated. The eight teams previously announced will be joined by two further teams - Craw Hawks and Project +90 Schiavonia.

MONARCHS
Our reigning double winners are Monarchs. The champions appear to be slightly weaker this season, as both of their first-choice wing backs in Dylan Bell and Oliver Berry are starting to show their age, while creator Johnny Jones has departed for Iskara Daii. However, they will still be clear favourites going into the new season, after winning games in UICA, Cygnus Cup and AOCL competition (though only making the group stage in the latter).

YELLOW STARS
After losing the league from being eighteen points clear last season, as well as the Cueto Cup Final to Monarchs, Yellow Stars have followed their main rivals in losing their creator, Tarmey moving to new club Petardos S/A Craw. After last season's late crash, they will hope to show better mental resilience this time around and get one over on their New Kingsbury rivals.

46ers
46ers are named after the first team to enter UICA competition from Schiavonia, the number representing the number of islands in the original Schiavone nation. The team will play in the 70,000 King Francesco Stadium in Craw, which has been built as a tourist destination amongst all of the others that Schiavonia have and are building to attract people to the area. Keeping in the vein of attracting overseas visitors, 46ers have spent big money by Schiavone standards in order to bring in eleven overseas players from nine different nations, mostly well known in their homelands after careers of varying levels of success. (They have told us that they are still looking for a left midfielder, if anyone has one on offer).

GARUNDIA KICKBALL
The people of Garundia were refugees who arrived in Schiavonia two years ago. The Garundis played a game similar to football called kickball, but have been learning about the differences between the two games since arriving. Garundia Kickball are the best players from the national team that represented their former nation against five other nations in a tournament on their former island. As their former game was without goalkeepers, the team are heavily defence based. Garundis are also not as friendly and calm as Schiavones, so expect disciplinary issues to arise.

PETARDOS S/A CRAW
Petardos are, of course, named after the double UICA Champions' Cup winning team from Cafundéu, which is where the vast majority of the players (and, indeed, the people of Craw) have shared ancestry from. Of course, they aren't the same team, that would be preposterous, but they have aspirations, skills, and the best creator in the league in Tarmey. One thing is for sure, they'll give every game their all, and their fans will scream every goal with unbridled passion.

PROJECT +90 SCHIAVONIA
The latest branch of the Sunrisian youth football franchise has rocked up in Schiavonia. The team will start their first season made up largely of players from Schiavonia, Ko-oren and the NSI and, due to the one-division structure of Schiavone football, will be the only P+90 team with a theoretical chance of earning a place in the UICA Champions' Cup. However slim that possibility might be with a team made up largely of under-20s. There are some poor teams in this league, though, so Globe Cup qualification could be a possibility.

Redskins are the second team made up of players from the Garundi kickball team, with a first eleven considered not as good as that of GK. They were still top kickball players, though, and it remains to be seen how they will have transferred their skills to the better-known version of the game.

CRAW HAWKS
Craw Hawks take their name from the original team to play on the island when it was part of the original Schiavonia, though the team never rose above SchiavFour at the time. The team will largely be made up of workers in Craw's rapidly expanding tourism industry, and will consist of largely amateur players coming in from overseas and earning a decent living wage, but looking for something more to do with their time. No consistency.

VALAE VOLCANOES
The Volcanoes are named after what destroyed the original island of Garundia, and so if it has enough power to wipe out an island, it should have enough to sweep through a football league, right? Well, not exactly. This is the Garundi people's team, made up of kickball players who didn't come close to the national team and, on occasion - the Garundis really are becoming more socially developed - women!

CRICKET SCHIAVONIA
Lastly, we have the Schiavone cricket team! Invited to play on the basis that it will keep them in good shape and both sports feature teams of eleven players, Cricket Schiavonia will largely be making up the numbers in the coming season. Though putting a wicketkeeper in goal might be good catching practice, despite it being a bigger ball.

So, there we go. Ten teams raring to go for a proper season of Schiavone football. Will Monarchs reign again? Will Yellow Stars not burn out? Will 46ers buy the title? Or will one of the other new teams spring a surprise? We can but wait and see.

Meanwhile, in a bid to promote Schiavonia's growing tourism industry, the Schiavone Tourist Board have submitted the following to the UICA.

Schiavonia is growing! Not literally, of course. It has already done that when they moved in to a new island two years or so ago. But its presence is expanding. Schiavonia is now modelling itself as the place to come and catch the sun (seasonally, of course), enjoy forests and (if you like) watch football! The people are friendly, the food is... acceptable, and the unspoilt beaches run for miles and miles.

While some efforts have been made to publicise the new tourism industry - most notably Schiavone club side 46ers signing ageing players from around the world - Visit Schiavonia believe that they would reach a wider audience as sponsors of a UICA competition. They see the Series B Champions' Cup as the perfect partner as Schiavonia only has one division, and thus advertising will largely be seen in the key markets of "places that aren't Schiavonia". The VS marketing department were looking to follow this up with an eight-season bid to host the Series B Champions' Cup final at the King Francesco Stadium in Craw, but when they read the UICA rules stating that this would not be possible, they quickly reconsidered.

An exact(-ish) replica of the stadium that was Schiavonia's sporting home over 120 years ago, the King Francesco Stadium is very much an old-style stadium, but with many a modern twist. The KFS was best known as a host stadium at World Cup 30, when the opening ceremony took place there. It is thought (OOC note: I've not checked) to be the only stadium to have played host to two matches between the same two nations at the same World Cup - particularly Starblaydia and Tadjikistan, who played a group stage match and a semi-final there. The new incarnation of the stadium has been designed to be a tourist attraction, being the home of 46ers and the Schiavone national team. However, while it might look like a relic from a bygone era on the outside, underneath the exterior is a stadium built with the modern football audience in mind.

Gregoryisgodistan (GGS) Final Site Bid

617 Stadium, District 7, Ward 10 (Capacity 35,000, expandable to 45,000)

617 Stadium is the home stadium of FC 17 June, the two-time defending champion of the Gregoryisgodistan Soccer League. In fact, no other team has ever won the GSL. It is the second-largest stadium in Gregoryisgodistan after Lord Almighty Gregory National Stadium. However, the National Stadium suffered major damage in a coordinated series of terrorist attacks by Wolfopian citizens (OOC: Actually a false flag by the government to provide an excuse to add New Wolfopolis to our Enemy List) so it will be unable to host any matches for some time. As a result, 617 Stadium is bidding for the Globe Cup.

It normally seats 35,000, but is expandable to 45,000 by adding temporary bleachers on the open concourse at one of the ends. (The other end is already closed.) If 617 Stadium is selected to host the Globe Cup final, the temporary seats will be added for that game only. For FC 17 June's home games in the Champions Cup, there will be no temporary seats added regardless of whether the stadium wins the bid.

FC 17 June wins the Lord's Trophy for best regular-season record and will face Coastal Soccer Club in a neutral-site playoff with extra time and penalties if necessary. Prune Farmers FC and November 5 SC advance to the Globe Cup, as will the loser of the Championship Match.

Accordingly, Coastal Soccer Club wins the Gregoryisgodistan Cup II. They will also qualify for the Cygnus Cup as well as receive the second berth in the CEdC. They were assured of the latter before the final, as they finished second in the GSL to FC 17 June. Had FC 17 June also won the Cup, then by rule there would be a playoff between the cup and league runners-up to determine the second spot. As Coastal Soccer Club would have been runner-up in both, they would receive the second spot regardless.

So, it is left to SK Franz Josef City to crush Spartangrad dreams of becoming the latest Euran club to win silverware with a flattering four-one win in Torgos. The win comes after beating Valhallan Union rivals in two of their previous rounds before beating the reigning champions CA Paulinthal in the semi-finals, whilst Spartangrad's final appearance came at the expense of Metropolis Alligators, representing Valladares' welcome return to the competition. SK's win is their second as they become the first Polarian club to win the CdC on multiple occasions, making it three out of the last four CdCs for Divisjon One clubs.



Future bids for host stadia will be taken into consideration, though the default in case of no bids will always be The Barge in Bjarnarey; the floating stadium. A final reminder also that all Rushmori nations only (including any and all puppets) will be able to submit their league champions only (or top ranked team in the event of multi-associational leagues of more than one Rushmori nation) for entry into the next CdC; this includes puppet leagues that don't submit to UICA. The submission period opened when Commerce Heights closed entries to the last UICA tournaments, and will close again when Commerce Heights closes entries to the next UICA tournaments. No invitations will be sent. You must indicate at the bottom of your league summary that you wish your league champion to take part, and I take no responsibility for missing it if you've only shown it in your table.

Please also note that I will continue to modify the UICA ranks slightly, and am setting a hard maximum rank of 80. Any team with a rank higher than that will be cut to 80, and the max rank for the scorinator will be 100.

The West Carpathia Football Association has announced the first Official Season of professional Football in West Carpathia. While the sport has a huge following in the Amateur scene for decades, no official league had been established before by the FA.

UICA Diamond Jubilee
Three clubs with seven recent UICA titles to their names will ascend the Olympic Tower for a special evening of football celebrating seventy-five years of UICA competition.

Club football united
The Champions’ Cup and Globe Cup coëxisted on the basis of little more than a wink and a handshake for thirteen seasons, but both organizing committees eventually realized the benefits of a more formal arrangement. Before the seventeenth Champions’ Cup and fourteenth Globe Cup kicked off, the Paripanan and Cafundelense top brass met in Aeropag to sign the founding papers of the Union of International Club Associations, which would formalize the existing state of affairs and provide the framework upon which new projects could be built for the betterment of the global football community. Fifty years ago, UICA’s efforts in stewardship of the game were commended by the World Assembly, and in the decades since then, it has developed the lucrative UICA Partner model to offer a veritable windfall to participating clubs and member associations, consolidated its operations in Aeropag for greater efficiency, restructured the Globe Cup in favor of smaller clubs, and established the Youth Cup which gives hundreds of young footballers their first taste of UICA competition.

Double feature
It is the Youth Cup that provides the inspiration for the first of the night’s matches, with the youngsters of Jungle Strike FC, the only club to win the competition twice, taking on the current holders Nithgard GU, the third in an ongoing procession of Earental champions. The teams have met twice in six seasons of the under-19 tournament, with the Vilitan side taking crucial points in the group stage on their way to winning Youth Cup 3, and Nithgard conversely taking the sting out of Strike in the first knockout round of their triumphant Youth Cup 6 campaign. But this time, no championship is at stake; there’s only pride to play for.

Not only did Nithgard GU win the Youth Cup last season, but their senior side lifted the Champions’ Cup and Super Cup, making the club the first to win a “UICA treble”. Their A team will step into the Aeropag spotlight as they take on SK Franz Josef City, the club topping the UICA coëfficient ranking for three seasons running by way of their Champions’ Cup double in the fiftieth and fifty-first editions. Still, Nithgard’s Super Cup trophy is no doubt a source of envy for the Griffons, as it represents the title that eluded them on both occasions, once in a humiliating derby which allowed Franz Josef Young Boys to boast of the first Super Cup–winning finish to a Series B Champions’ Cup campaign. This will be the Polarian and Earental clubs’ first official UICA meeting, although they previously locked horns at the second Empire Invitational in Gordonopia City; the pair finished level on overall points, with SK claiming the spoils by way of their 2–1 head-to-head win.

Take your ball…
The TCp-X1 match ball, developed by Tropicorp, will make its début at the UICA Diamond Jubilee, the first major event to pick up the design after prototypes were successfully trialed in the qualifying tournament for World Cup 68. Although Paripanan supplier C4 retains an exclusive contract for the five UICA club competitions, it does not include these ceremonial matches, leaving UICA the opportunity to work with one of its UICA Partners for the event. The balls will be skinned for the occasion with a unique white and blue design incorporating the Diamond Jubilee emblem.

UICA’s quadranscentennial celebrations will reach new heights in this third edition, as Olympic Tower Stadium is the chosen venue for the two matches. Stretching nearly a kilometer and a half into the Jativan sky, the tower is perhaps the greatest seat of power in the sporting world, hosting the offices of the Olympic Council, UICA, and the building’s owner, the Paripana Sporting Council. Built as the centerpiece of the Games of the IV Olympiad, the main arena seats over 196 000 in its football configuration. This will be the first major event UICA has awarded to its own rooftop garden since the twenty-fifth Champions’ Cup final, although the indigenous Élite League club, CF Aéropag, has been known to qualify for UICA competition from time to time.

Top men
As is by now traditional in these sorts of matches, UICA has sought the services of thirteen of the best and fairest officials from its member associations to deal with any shenanigans that may arise. Although a full slate of assistants is still to be confirmed, it has been decided that FPIFA Divisjon One referee Sebastian Stendahl will be the man in the middle for the first match, after which the Euraleague’s Joshua Taylor will take charge for the second. While Nithgard’s double duty precludes the direct injection of an Earental official into either match line-up, Tanch Amsee will participate at least in name as a reserve assistant referee, available for both fixtures in the event of absence or injury to another official.

Sport for all
One hundred percent of revenue from the UICA Diamond Jubilee matches—through ticket sales, and the portion of broadcast rights sales and UICA Partner payments attributed to the event—will be divided equally between local charities nominated by the three participating clubs. Jungle Strike FC has pledged its share to the Vilitans in Sport Initiative, which funds youth sport for schools and sport clubs throughout the country, perhaps enabling future generations of Vilitan footballers to replicate Strike’s Youth Cup success. Nithgard GU named Tonakintel Peanstyv, a charity supporting adaptive sports for athletes with physical disabilities, while SK Franz Josef City has opted to donate to the Kolehmainen Foundation, which uses sport as an avenue to rehabilitate people suffering from mental illness. UICA itself has plucked another equal share out of its treasury—a fourth third, you could say—to be contributed to Football Everywhere, UICA’s own foundation, established twenty-five years ago on funds from the UICA Golden Jubilee, for spreading the game by developing the needed physical and technical infrastructure throughout the world.

VA, known by its official name of Vaduzzer Abrahamsen, is an Yttribian company headquartered in the city of Dahlen, the capital of the German-speaking region known as Obersinn. Originally a company specializing in automobile part manufacturing, the workers at VA were caught goofing off during their lunch hour, using defective parts as tokens for board games. While the workers were fired, the higher-ups toyed around with the idea of making board games under the Vaduzzer Abrahamsen brand. Releasing games such as Impact!, a six-player game in which the goal is to conquer the world; Chevennia, a monster-hunting board game, and various others, the company made money, until the demand for technology increased. Facing the potential loss of customers, the company re-branded as VA, and began to develop the first console, the VAlcano. The VAlcano was received with great praise, and built a path for various other consoles, and eventually led to Quest. Quest is the largest digital-distribution, digital rights management, multiplayer platform in the nation, allowing game developers from across the world to place their games up on the Quest PathFinder, the marketplace.

VA is a multi-billion dollar company, and have made their mark in Yttribia. By becoming a UICA partner, the VA will have their best developers from across the nation produce the biggest sporting game series in the planet, being the UICA series of games. Having already developed the official game for the most recent edition of the Campionato Esportiva under their daughter company Vaduz Studios, VA will not only distribute and market the game, but they will also develop it under the VA brand. As a UICA partner, VA will also bring the UICA Interactive Champions' Cup to even greater heights, integrating the Quest client's multi-player capacity. MLG: Premiership

At the end of the 7th matchday (the 1st half of the league), the standings showed the very obvious. Obex, the champions from the last edition, went full-force into the tournament - the only team to remain undefeated since the start of this edition's Major League Gloriax. With a new-and-revamped squad (managed by Super-Llamaland), Obex continued their sublime form, even though the draw with Titania in this round might hurt them a bit. Industus are looking in good shape after a dismal previous season, and catching up with Obex (only 2 points behind) in a hot chase. Industus have failed to find foreign owners at the moment, but their industrial background will help them go a far way. Trexocia, the airport city (and the current champions of the national cup) have been able to solidify their place at three, but again, a disappointing draw with Exetus (in the relegation zone) have threatened their 2nd place, to give way to Campos. The 'Fallen Angels' as they have been recently called, Campos have not been able to really live up to the expectations of being Gloriax's (unofficial)(arguably) best club. Their shocking 3-0 loss to Islandia have seriously hurt their title aspirations, as they now struggle to atleast keep their Globe Cup hopes alive. The 'Isolated Ones', Islandia have won a place in every one's heart, as their rise from the lower echelons of the Major League Premiership to a postition where they are Globe Cup hopefuls, without any significant financial suppport, as compared to those received by other MLG Premier clubs. Tigria - the club of the valiant, have had dismal performances ever since the inception of the MLG and this season is no different as far as the first half is concerned. Titania, the capital city club, are still in their relegation avoiding place. At number 7, Titania seems to be very endangered of being relegated into the 2nd division, thanks to their league table position, and their not-so-good display of (association) football. Exetus, on the other hand, has given us football of a standard quality, but their failure in opening the face of goal on quite a few occasions (having a predominantly attacking atyle of play) have brought their downfall, according to pundits.

MLG: 2nd Division

The more contested of the two divisions (as of the end of the first half of the 4th season), the MLG 2nd Division has seen good football, because the beautiful game at its best, when teams fight it out for sheer existence in the spotlight. Novus - 'The Youngsters' as they're called, are topping the table, with 15 points, and a 0.714% victory rating. Quite convincible, but, the competition has definitely intensified, with Glorus and Esporto catching up fast, at a difference of 3 and 4 points respectively. Secura is still at division 2 midtable - not up, not down. at a frustating standstill. Apex and Zexa continue to try and up their levels of play, but for no result. Apex, with all the Nexxus Drako backing, has still not been able to assert themselves into the top flight. A pitiable state, indeed, for a team which has aimed for the top all the way. Project +90 Gloriax, the Sunrisian talent-stage for young promises, have yet to make a mark on the league, down at number 7 after the 1st half of the league. Altarus (also a Northern Sunrise Islands backed team) still do not have enough in them to make the top flight, even after an name-change to Altarus from Alterus. Altarus = 'Alta' meaning high. Thus, signifying their zeal to make it to the spotloght, and shove in some talents to the national team.

MLG: Premiership

And we've got the final standings. Not very much of a surprise, though. Industus top the Premiership table with a staggering 0.750% win percentage. With 29 points, they win the league convincingly - with a 3 point lead over Obex, the defending champions. Obex's recent foreign signings didn't really come in any good, with they slipping down a place to a Globe Cup berth. Campos still don't come close to winning the MLG, but still retain their postition as the best-ever club in the Gloriaxian domestic football history. Trexocia still continue to just about qualify for the final Globe Cup berth, even though they will continue in search of the elusive Premiership title next MLG season. Islandia still find them out of UICA GLobe Cup action, as they narrowly miss out on 1 point behind Trexocia, after a stunningly impressive performance from an uderrated club, as them. Tigria have successfully held their place in the Premiership with just 1 win less than Islandia. Titania still couldn't make their way up into UICA qualification, but plummeted to a not-so-comfortable 7th on the Premiership table. Exetus, 'The Eagles' find themselves relegated out of the MLG Premiership, and into the 2nd division. Sources have also confirmed that many of the Exetus players are rumoured to be interested in leaving the club to clubs placed hugher, or divert to some other league; although the chances of the players' success in doing so are very slim.

MLG: 2nd Division

The final standings did not differ much from the halfway 2nd division table - Novus, the TRB backed team, had been leading the table, and have continued their dominant form. 31 points and ahead of Esporto, another formidable 2nd tier club, Novus have impressed one and all. Gloriax now hopes that the lads will outperform themselves in the Series B Champions' Cup, the UICA trophy qualification that Novus have got themselves into, by winning the division 2 title this MLG season. Following, are Esporto and Glorus, both having a difference of 1 point from each other, and adrift of Novus by 7 and 8 points respectively. Secura still manage to keep their mid-table position intact, after falling out of the top four on grounds of goal difference. Zexa, the club with the lowest fanbase in Gloriax (Even the Sunrisian P+90 Gloriax have mustered more followers than them) hae pulled off a shocker, by defeating the likes of Secura, and solidifying their 5th place 1 point ahead of Apex, the Nexxus Draco backed club. It has been some time since Drako Dragons have had bought the club, but the club is still struggling in terms of league position, and the final goal of reaching the top flight. Altarus, and Project +90 Gloriax, continue to struggle to get into competition with the rest of the 6 Major League 2 clubs, and it seems as if the only contest they're in is the contest for the 15th place, which, this time, is won by Altarus.

The professional football teams in Segovesia, a country that recently obtained its independence after centuries of foreign rule, are split into four championships - Serie A (12 teams), Serie B (16 teams) and Serie C (20 teams); the final results of these four championships are below.

The first Serie A championship is won by Brèsa, that therefore qualifies for the Champions’ Cup. The second team of Segovesia's capital, Milàn 1908, qualifies for the Globe Cup along with Albì e Léf and Bèrghem. Cremùna, Locarn, Comm and Ciass are relegated to the Serie B. The most disappointing performance has been without a doubt that of Milàn: the team, who along with the other team from the capital has always been a force to be reckoned with in the Hesperian championship, ended its first Segovesian championship in seventh place, behind Varés. The most surprising performance has been that of Albì e Léf; the team, coming from the two small towns of Albì and Léf near Bèrghem, managed to end the championship in third place, ahead of their more celebrated cousins.

The first Serie B championship is won by Renàa, that therefore qualifies for the Series B Champions' Cup along with Crèma, Pavia and Lömedàne; the same teams are promoted to the Serie A. Verbania, Gurgunzöla, Belinzòna and Carònn' Pertüsela are relegated to the Serie C. This has been a very exciting Serie B championship, with Renàa, Crèma, Pavia and Lömedàne battling it out for first place from the beginning of the championship until the very end.
