The Nation
Audioslavia is one of the world's ancient nations. ICly it has been around in some form since the dawn of civilsation, OOCly the nation was founded in December 2002.

Audioslavia is a massive, sprawling nation, (roughly the size and shape of Mongolia but occupying the space where Argentina would be in the NS world), once home to some twelve billion inhabitants - making it one of the largest nations in the world at one point, but since a devastating civil war around one-hundred and twenty years ago, that population is now down to around 400,000, mainly centred around the de-facto capital Cathair (also referred to as 'Caʒar'), the regions of Sierra Herradura, Sudares, Norkenen, Gorxaxixante, the municipality of Silexhera and the new Atlantian Oceanian island of Kjelligsted. The uninhabited regions of Audioslavia (making up around 99% of the country) are largely barren, irradiated, inhospitable wastelands.

The Team
The Audioslavian national team have been playing in their trademark claret/green/white striped shirts since their first appearance on the world stage way back in World Cup 4 in 1930. The national team managed to qualify for twenty four out of the twenty five World Cups they entered between WC4 and WC29, reaching the final four times and losing on every single occasion. Audioslavia returned to the world stage for one aborted qualifying campaign in WC37, before marking their third era of international football with entry into WC59, AOCAF34 and BoF46, although Silexhera entered World Cups 46-49 as an independent entity. A successful new beginning has seen the team lift the BoF trophy and reach the final of the last AOCAF, and has propelled them towards a rank of around one-hundred.

The World Cup 59 qualifiers were difficult for the fledgling team, who succumbed to a record of just 3-3-6 over the twelve games. On the plus side, only one side - playoff-losers Chenkorya - managed to do 'the double' over the Bulls, who finished a disappointing sixth in the group.

The Players

The current Audioslavia squad aren't all that cop. The average player is a semi-pro standard, largely taken from foreign players with some Audioslavian citizenship. Here is a quick list of the team's notable players:

Weverton Sporadic is the team's talisman. Son of Silexhera's WC46-48 talisman Kelly Sporadic (now the team manager), Weverton was the team's top scorer in both the AOCAF tournament and the BoF. Weverton is a naturalised Cafunduese, and struggles with English sometimes.

Marc Vauvenargues has scored only two goals so far in his international career, but the young striker has shown an alarming amount of speed and acceleration, even if his finishes are often lacking.

'Ted' is a big, lumbering oaf of a centre-half, and also an utter thug. 'Ted' was rumoured to have had a decent pedigree as an amateur footballer in Taeshan before his incarceration at Los Riosa prison for a string of violent offences. Audioslavia managed to extradite the man, on condition that he represent Audioslavia at football. Yup, the new Bulls squad is really that bad. 'Ted' assumed captaincy on the basis that no-one would argue with him. He gets sent off once every four or five games, so check the previous RP to see whether he's suspended for our game or not. If he is, chances are Cassio di Rossiverdi will be in his place.

Mantzio Janssens is a name that harks back to Audioslavia's glory years, where players with the names Jansen, Jensen and Jennseson marauded along Audioslavia's wings. The 'new' version is a naturalised Astograthian, and is part of the championship winning Sporting Iturributa team.

Calaexa Jeroen, Andre-Luis Particle and Delain Colgan are Turorian, Cafundeu and Vilitan born, respectively, and each can list a famous ancestor playing for either Audioslavia or Silexhera.

Permissions
Anything, as long as its funny and more-or-less realistic. You're free to injure or suspend my players, just don't kill them (without permission)

...and finally
After a long night full of coffee, bright computer screens and mis-placed mathematics, Audioslavian soccer bods have unearthed the following statistic:

Audioslavia: WC4 - WC29, WC37, WC59 + intervening senior tournaments
Played: 494
Won: 299
Drawn: 94
Lost: 100
Goals For: 888
Goals Against: 438

Ipeland Roster for AOCAF 35

It's time for another AOCAF and as usual, the teams are not letting their players go to international matches, mid-season. The teams not willing to give up their players leaves the selectors in a real pickle. As they have no players whose clubs are willing to let them go, they are only aloud to choose backups, which may or may not be possible depending on the circumstances, and free agents. The selection process went as usual, unsuccessful, until one of them spotted a league which had a break around this period, the University leagues. Of course the break was for exams, but with a few string being pulled they could be set back for another two weeks, which was a win for everyone. So the selectors picked 16 of the best players from the Universities and sent them off to play some warm-up games.

Starters
GK: James Gunn - Walkden University - 19 - 180cm
Been the spearhead of Walkden University dominance of the Students' league for the past 5 years, despite having only been around for 4 of them. Makes light work of very difficult shots, close or from distance, and rarely punches the ball out. Set pieces are where he is problematic, especially corners. In the last year of his course studying Welsh and Geography.

RD: Unique Robinson - South Western Uni - 17 - 169cm
Unique has an interesting name. I suppose you could say... *puts on sunglasses* He's one of a kind. In all seriousness, she defends decently for the team that finished 8th in the recently completed season. Looking to move onto bigger things after completing her degree in architecture.

CD: Colin Fielder - Caelon University - 18 - 167cm
Colin's talent was never really spotted by any club until he went to Caelon University, where they quickly signed him up for the football team, before anyone else. He very aggressive and rather dirty, he had the worst discipline record the previous season, due to him being in a rough area for many years. Studies media.

CD: James Sharp - Pendleton Technical College - 16 - 177cm
A decent defender who underperformed in exams and managed to scrape in to Pendleton Tech. Used as a substitute in case one of the other central defenders get injured, which both of them have. Studies Music, despite not being any good.

LD: D.J. Canavan - Eccles University - 18 - 172cm
An average defender, from an average family, from an average background, who did average at school and got into an average university. Basically the epitome of average.

RM: Sebastion Cichon - University of the Vant Isles - 17 - 177cm
Cichon's great-great-great grandparents emigrated to the Vant Islands, and liked it there so much they stayed there for five generations so far. A smart lad who is pretty much good at all subjects apart from Art, and especially talented at football, who has attracted interest from numerous Premier League clubs. Studies Quantum Physics, Political Sciences and Mathematics.

CM: Alex Carting - Walkden University - 16 - 171cm
The best known player in the squad, and by far the one with the most caps and international goals. Lead Walkden University to the IFA Cup, defeating many Premier League teams along the way, as well as winning the Students League for the 5th time. Studies Business.

LM: Danny Potter - Universty Burnden - 16 - 164cm
A rather good central midfielder, who has managed to catch the attention of some lower league clubs. Despite coming from a poor background he fought is way through school, almost literally. His height didn't help out either, being in a unusually tall school. Studies English and Art.

AMR: Ravania Frattastan - University of the Vant Isles - 18 - 170cm
Average player who is brilliant as crosses, but not so good at shooting. Studies Music.

STC: James Spray - Walkden University - 19 - 184cm
A good player who, along with Alex Carting, spearheaded the IFA Cup win, the competition being the only he can play in, having been banned from playing in the Students League due to being too old. He was a controversial choice for the team, many saying there were more younger choices than him. Halfway through studying for a doctorate in Geography.

AML: John Carting - Eccles University - 17 - 176cm
Cousin of Alex who also plays football, albeit for a different university. Appears to be worse than Alex, but is better at crossing and throw-ins than his cousin. Studies Buisness and IT.

Substitutes
GK - Luke Evans - Salfordon Tech - 18 - 186cm
RD - Justin Bailey - Trumpton University - 17 - 180cm
CD - Nathaniel Hill - Trumpton University - 16 - 176cm
CM - Mason Cooper - University College F.C. Students - 18 - 172cm
ST - Matthew Taylor - University Burnden - 16 - 179cm

Manager
Dr. Tim Roves - Unattached - 55 - 185cm
An out of work youth coach, who previously worked at University College FC. Also a physio and qualified doctor.

Style mod: +1.6
Permisisions: Do anything except kill or severly injure them. One or two game length injuries are fine.

For the first time in living memory, Falcania has put together a team of its best and brightest footballers to represent the Free Kingdom on the international stage.

This presented some unique problems for Boaris Alp, who has had to rent office space to house the new division of the Directorate of Sports & Culture, the team now expanded to twelve people. But more importantly, it has meant the hiring of the Falcanian National Corporation Football Team.

The first question was who will manage the team. In the interests of neutrality, Boaris Alp appointed Joha Kruppie, who has had a proven track record being the assistant manager for fully seven separate teams last season.

The squadron looks like this - the starting XI highlighted in Falcon Orange. The formation shall be 1-5-3-2.

Sentinels
1 Rarnin Harst (Integral FC)
18 Hebie Treolot (Bachman & Associates)
13 Sams Nertrin (Airsweep FE)

Guardians
83 Morthal Terinax (Icarus)
44 Yrion Kork (UMANST)
23 Tor Heyaldor (Matsundai)

3 Graehm Fortt (Integral)
4 Luys Boford (Integral)
35 Woltar Crafter (Associated Digital)

36 Jhon Mathis (Associated Digital)

Proteans
54 Qail Pronotiro (Glowsnap)
38 Nicci Alleun (Associated Digital)

37 Thim Rais (Associated Digital)
39 Cristof Foil (Associated Digital)
9 Danniol Parkar (Integral)

Spearheads
33 Colan Battes (Associated Digital)
6 Thax Akirax (Integral FC)

21 Cherald Marthiew (Matsundai)
12 Serent Porilon (Goldmund-Teller)

The Kits, as designed by Barrengeka Inc. and modelled here by that corporation's native Astograthians, are attractive and eye-catching.

Style modifier is +3.5.

RP Restrictions: You have fun with it.

Temperament: Falcanians do not really understand football, in the way that they inherently understand ritual combat. As such, Association Football in Falcania is a very bloody sport. Corporate loyalty when mixed together may result in actual intra-team fighting, especially between rivals Integral and Associated Digital, who competed bitterly in the AO Champion's League last season. A so-called "friendly" between the two teams after the Champion Sword tournament resulted in the hospitalisation of AD assistant manager at the time Joha Kruppie, who is now the national team's manager. Falcanian athletes are strong, fast, agile, and quick-thinking, but as I said before, they do not really understand football.
II & Sports: The Free Kingdom of Falcania, Jayla, New Nestia, and Realms Otherwise Beneath the Skies

World Assembly: Ser Jeine Wilhelmsen on behalf of Queen Falcon IV, representing the Free Kingdom and the ancient and great region of Atlantian Oceania

4-Time AOCAF Champions

GOALKEEPERS:

[ 85 ] Nycflala Kater [ - Strike FC - ]
------- GK ( AGE: 21 CAPS: 36 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: )
Descended of former National Team goalkeeper Jimmy Kater, who took over the starting position on the National Team under the intense spotlight of the World Cup 17 Finals in Vilita and remained first choice keeper for the majority of Vilitan national competition in subsequent seasons before joining the coaching staff for World Cup 31. Nycflala made his full debut for the Vilita National Team during World Cup 57 where he was named the starter in 14 of Vilitas 16 qualification matches. Kater performed strongly with 6 shutouts and a 5.86 average rating. Many claim that the focus on the World Cup 57 Qualifying campaign distracted Strike players such as Kater from performing well domestically in VLeague 26. Kater ensured there would be no dissapointment in VLeague 27 leading Strike comfortably to both the League and Cup titles, repeating the feat during VLeague 29.

[ 90 ] Jaqe Planst [ - Cednia Beach AFC (TUR) - ]
------- GK ( AGE: 16 CAPS: 1 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: )
Planst was acquired by Cednia Beach AFC after playing just 1 match in Season 26 for Arcticala Inlet. Planst helped the Turorian side to second place in the VLeague 27 table and a return to UICA Competitions. A poor showing during the AOCL V in which Cednia Beach were eliminated in the group stage likely kept Planst out of any contention for a National Team spot during World Cup 58 Qualifiers, although, as a highly skilled keeper, Planst was still invited to the training camp.

[ 81 ] Hooizo Nuakoi [ - Turoki Tide (Vilita) - ]
------- GK ( AGE: 20 CAPS: 0 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: )
Nuakoi, a dual Vilitan & Turorian national, entered World Cup 58 qualifying uncapped and undeclared for either Nation. Nuakoi was widely expected to openly declare Turorian Nationality going into the qualifying, but with the rise of rival Ronji Miiastara, Nuakoi decided to leave the door open to a Vilitan return should he remain uncapped for Turori. After spending Season 26 and 27 at Turoki Isle, Nuakoi made the move to the Yeaddin Owls midway through Season 27 to become their #1 keeper. Nuakoi returned to Turoki during Season 29, joining the Turoki Tide as they finished runners up in the Stellar Division

[ 95 ] Jawz Tiiaupila [ - Inland Peaks FC - ]
------- GK ( AGE: 19 CAPS: 2 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: )
Tiiaupila has made his first appearance for the Vilitan National Team in a shock defeat against Brendino the 3rd during World Cup 57 Qualifications. The 1-3 defeat was pointed at by many critics as the sole reason the Jungle Cats were unable to make a return to the World Cup Finals, dropping a full three points against the groups bottom side and inevitably finishing just one point out of the playoff zone. Tiiaupila moved from Inland Rovers on a loan to newly promoted Hojosan in The Yorozura after WC57 quals as part of an investment deal with the clubs kit sponsors, VIlitan based Vilaye energy drink. When the Yorozura league collapsed, Tiiaupila returned to the Inland joining Inland Peaks FC.

DEFENDERS:

[ 9 ] Ritopa Simafela [ - Strike FC - ]
------- D LC ( AGE: 21 CAPS: 41 :: GOALS::SR: 4 U21: REG: )
Ritopa was a standout product of the Lunar Academy and was named as one of the captains of Vilita's World Cup 57 Qualifying Squad. The son of a Rocket Scientist and a Physicist, Simafela is already well educated and is in no way reliant on a career in sports. However, strong performances during his debut qualifying campaign including a 6.05 average rating and 2 goals spurred transfer inquiries from foreign clubs and comparisons to Vilitan greats like Enzo Ahat and Ricky Ezis. Simafela transferred to Strike FC for VLeague 27 and was an instrumental part of their double success in the League and Cup.

[ 68 ] Kadi Molali [ - Arcticala Inlet - ]
------- D R ( AGE: 21 CAPS: 39 :: GOALS::SR: 2 U21: REG: )
Molali has the ability to make stunning runs up the right side of the field and has put together exciting 'from-nothing' goal scoring opportunities in weekly scrimmage matches. Molali was an exciting prospect for the Turoki Academy who was solid, but not exceptional during World Cup 57 Qualifying, making 13 appearances and scoring 1 goal. After joining multiple clubs, including Strike FC, Molali left the VLeague abrubtly in the middle of VLeague 26. After some time off, Molali returned, signing for Eastal Lunar FC and completing a strong VLeague Season 27.

[ 3 ] Noa-isinao Wioauoi [ - Turoki Tide (Vilita) - ]
------- D RLC ( AGE: 19 CAPS: 2 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: )
Noa-isinao Wioauoi ws a product of the Yeaddin Academy who caught the eye of one Yeaddin reporter at a training session doing ball handling tricks, and the shared video went viral, sparking a campaign including a fan website and even local town council requests to invite the youngster into the Vilita National Team training camp for World Cup 57. Wioauoi was invited to the camp, but never impressed coaches Massa and Wrice enough to be capped during the process. Wioauoi, born in Turori despite leaving in Vilita, accepted an invitation from the Football Association of Turori to train with them in preparation for a playing role in the World Cup 58 Qualifiers. After spending a season at Arcticala Inlet, Wioauoi moved to new Stellar Division competitiors Turoki Tide.

[ 67 ] Eda Shindhi [ - Turoki Tide - ]
------- D LC ( AGE: 21 CAPS: 6 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: )
Shindhi is a player in the mold of former Marine Coast defensive stalwarts Ade Hinds and Sibusiso Azaiez. While Shindhi still has some development to go before realizing his full potential, it is expected that he will continue to get a run out from time to time as his skills progress. Shindhi made his competitive debut in defeat against Brendino the 3rd during World Cup 57 Qualifying but did not impress in that performance. After being trainined at the Coastal Academy, Shindhi signed his first professional contract with Marine Coast United. Shindhi switched to Cednia Beach AFC when Marine Coast were relegated for V-League 27, not enjoying success there, eventually returning to Vilita to play for the Turoki Tide.

[ 3 ] Niubo Deneli [ - Kiiarana - ]
------- D LC ( AGE: 21 CAPS: 9 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: )
Deneli was a solid prospect for the Strike Academy before a decline in his development after the age of 15, a time at which he was considered the best defensive prospect in the country. He ended up signing his first professional contract with local side Lonngeylin Coast, helping them get invited to the Declasse for Season 27, and helping them keep that spot for Season 28. Deneli, however, would leave the club and return to the other side of the street to play for Strike FC in Season 28. After a season and a half with his home club, Deneli found himself on the substitutes bench for the first time, and immediately requested a transfer, which was granted as he moved to Kiiarana.

[ 4 ] Timmson Leabiura [ - Winding Street (CvC) - ]
------- D C ( AGE: 21 CAPS: 2 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: )
The development of Timmson Leabiura seems to be hampered by his family's inability to stay put, and he has found himself at 6 different academies in his short sporting career. After training at the Strike Academy off and on, it was hoped by pundits that his development would spark. Leabiura would instead move to Civil Citizenry to play with Winding Street.

DEFENSIVE MID:

[ 36 ] Retiso Buran [ - Strike FC - ]
------- DM C ( AGE: 21 CAPS: 40 :: GOALS::SR: 4 U21: REG: )
Retiso Buran was the top prospect at the Sile Academy specializing in the defensive midfield role once made famous by Jürgen Ramzi. Buran is a ferocious player who some has said can be seen with teeth gritted ready to pounce as the attacking side approaches. Appearing almost exclusively during World Cup 57 qualifying, Buran missed only one game and scored 2 goals during the campaign. Burans perofmances both for the National Team and for Makosile earned him a transfer to Strike FC for Season 27, where he earned the Vilitan Stellar Divisions top goalscorer award for the second consecutive season, the first time ever achieved by a midfielder.

[ 34 ] Danie Izmao [ - Lonngeylin Coast - ]
------- DM C ( AGE: 20 CAPS: 0 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: )
Izmao was a Strike Academy prospect who, while not rated as the highest defensive midfield prospect at the academy, was still expected to get a run out with the National Squad in World Cup 57 Qualifiers. That chance never came, and the Venom weren't interested when it came time to award professional contracts. Izmao went across the road to Lonngeylin Coast and was instrumental in helping them not only get invited to rejoin the Vilitan League System - but for the first time ever, to stay there for at least a second consecutive season. Izmao is still part of the national team player pool, especially should any injuries come in to play

[ 30 ] Ukalai Saluria [ - Jaguar Moreda - ]
------- DM C ( AGE: 19 CAPS: 0 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: )
Saluria was a product of the Turoki Academy, who has trained with the National Team as an alternate since World Cup 57. Saluria has played for Jaguar Moreda in the Vilitan Non-League system.

MIDFIELDERS:

[ 21 ] Jomur Hulyer [ - Strike FC - ]
------- M LC ( AGE: 20 CAPS: 42 :: GOALS::SR: 8 U21: REG: )
A decsendent of the exciting Marine Coast and Yeaddin midfielder Jonjo Hulyer, Jomur has been compared heavily to his ancestors and even carries the same squad number. Unlike Jonjo, however, Jomur was trained at the Yeaddin Academy. Hulyer would soon become the quickest player to ever represent all three of the original Vilitan Dynasties, signing his first professional contract with Marine Coast United before transferring to Strike for VLeague 28.

[ 51 ] Steffyn Siazzu [ - Turoki Tide - ]
------- AM C ( AGE: 19 CAPS: 41 :: GOALS::SR: 4 U21: REG: )
An exciting prospect from the Yeaddin Academy, Siazzu plays behind the strikers in a clean up or attacking role atop the midfield. Despite not scoring during World Cup 57 Qualifiers, Siazzu was an important presence. After spending many seasons in Yeaddin, Siazzu moved to the Turoki Tide, helping them to runners-up in the VLeague29 table.

[ 25 ] Kiroki Mitaroka [ - Inland Peaks FC - ]
------- M RLC ( AGE: 16 CAPS: :: GOALS::SR: U21: REG: )
After starting at the Turoki Locals in the Lower Leagues, Mitaroka's talent was spotted by Inland Peaks FC who snapped the youngster up for V-League season 29. At the midway point of the season Mitaroka was setting the Declasse on fire with skillful performances and caught the attention of the Vilitan coaches who added Mitaroka to the World Cup 59 roster despite having never been called to the National Team before.

[ 17 ] Raso Tareak [ - Yeaddin Owls (Vilita) - ]
------- M C ( AGE: 21 CAPS: 26 :: GOALS::SR: 2 U21: REG: )
Tareak joined Jlinal Cove FC in Vilita for V-League 26 helping the club to a respectable 8th place finish. In V-League 27, Tareak's peformances improved with a pair of goals helping Jlinal to an all-time best finish of 4th place in the standings. Tareak's impressive performances in Jlinal earned him a transfer, first to Turorian UICA Champions League representatives Cednia Beach AFC, then to the Yeaddin Owls for V-League 30.

[ 24 ] Astara Daiili [ - Marine Coast United - ]
------- M C ( AGE: 21 CAPS: 21 :: GOALS::SR: 1 U21: REG: )
Daiili is a classic central midfielder who prefers a holding role and short distribution. With Starblaydi blood and Vilitan determination, Daiili was a consistent performer during World Cup 57 Qualifiers making 19 appearances with a 6.07 average rating.

[ 17 ] Cediici Tzatzos [ - Kiiarana (Vilita) - ]
------- M R ( AGE: 23 CAPS: 28 :: GOALS::SR: 1 U21: REG: )
A determined winger, Tzatzos is a product of the Strike Academy and remained a bit-part player for the club when the Vilitan League resumed for Season 26. Tzatsos was part of Strike's Stellar Division winning Season 27 side while being named Turorian Player of the Season, but when the success did not repeat itself during Season 28, Tzatzos was transfered to Kiiarana City.

[ 28 ] Riksa Valjariia [ - Turoki Tide - ]
------- AM C ( AGE: 20 CAPS: 5 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: )
Valjariia is an attacking midfielder who was trained at the Turoki Academy. Valjariia tends to come on the pitch to provide an attack boost, some times as a second attacking midfielder in a substitute role. Valjariia played professionally for Inland Peaks FC before moving to the Turoki Tide

FORWARDS:

[ 13 ] Yves Gadois [ - Strike FC - ]
------- F C ( AGE: 16 CAPS: 5 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: )
Gadois became a hot topic in Vilita after rising to glory as the spearhead for Strike FC's Vleague 27 championship, with 8 league goals and an incredibly 6 goals in the Vilitan Cup. Gadois, a product of the Inland Academy, earned an invitation to the National Team Training camp for the first time in the build up to World Cup 58.

[ 17 ] Viji-mara Lawaai [ - Strike FC - ]
------- F C ( AGE: 21 CAPS: 30 :: GOALS::SR: 7 U21: REG: )
Trained at the Strike Academy, Lawaai has excelled at shooting from long range, and making space on the edge of the penalty area with crafty turns, and may produce opportunities for free kicks if he wears down the opposition approaching the box. Lawaii made 8 substitute appearances during World Cup 57 qualifying, making his competitive debut against Krytenia, but failed to find the scoresheet.

[ 49 ] Xcnaio Bansoa [ - Yeaddin Owls AFC - ]
------- F C ( AGE: 20 CAPS: 7 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: )
Bansoa was a training partner of Sirkii Moliaudo at the Coastal Academy, and many believed that Moliaudo's prowess in front of goal was due solely to his close partnership with Bansoa. After not being called to the line during World Cup 57 Qualifiers, Bansoa decided it was time for a change, breaking ties with Moliaudo and Marine Coast United, signing for Arcticala Inlet in the Stellar Division. Bansoa featured frequently for the Jungle Cats during the World Cup 58 Campaign, performing well, but scoring no goals, relegating him from the top selection in the subsequent Cup of Harmony held in Vilita and New Montreal States.

[ 19 ] Jukkia Diijelhma [ - Kionao Locals - ]
------- F C ( AGE: 21 CAPS: 13 :: GOALS::SR: 2 U21: REG: )
Born in Starblaydia, Diijelhma moved to Turori following V-League Season 26 to pursue a new career in the Island Emirate. Diijelhma was one of the few Kionao Locals players in their disasterous V-League 27 season to receive even neutral reviews. Despite scoring no goals on the season, the Striker showed some skill that was required for the Locals to avoid another relegation in Season 28, and also proved to be useful for the Turori National team.

[ 15 ] Sirkii Moliaudo [ - Kiiarana - ]
------- F C ( AGE: 20 CAPS: 31 :: GOALS::SR: 8 U21: REG: )
Moliaudo is a real force in front of goal, rarely missing from inside the penalty area. Many eyes were on Moliaudo during the World Cup Campaign, to see how he fared with a new partner in attack, having spent his entire development partnered with Xcnaio Bansoa at the Coastal Academy. Moliaudo mostly performed well netting 4 goals and having a strong rating, but still left some wondering if there was more talent to be mined from the Marine Coast youngster. After Bansoa left Marine Coast for greener pastures, Moliaudo remained and his stock also decreased. After a second relegation with Marine Coast, Moliaudo jumped ship up the Vilitan coast to Kiiarana City.

[ 48 ] Actalia Mermaioada [ - Strike FC - ]
------- F C ( AGE: 20 CAPS: 4 :: GOALS::SR: 1 U21: REG: )
Mermaioada was a prospect of the Strike Academy, who also excels at water sports, a fact that some pundits have argued hampers his development on the pitch. While not even featuring on the bench for early World Cup 57 qualifying matches, Mermaioada finally made his competitive debut as a half-time substitute against Ipeland and would feature as a sub for three consecutive matches before the return of Kilpter to the lineup. Mermaioada looked to have broken into the lineup during the Cup of Harmony, scoring in Vilita's 5-3 opening match victory. However, the decision to attempt a cross-channel swim on the bye day in the middle of the competition put Mermaioada out of favor with the coaching staff once again. Mermaioada appeared to be completely off the radar before being snapped up from Non-League Surf Jettica by Strike for VLeague 30.

OOC: All characters here are based off the British television series Red Dwarf. More information on the characters mentioned can be found here. Three characters aren't mentioned on that list. All characters appear in episodes from Series I-Back to Earth

Hutt River roster for AOCAF 35
AKA: The Smegs

GK – Dave Lister [Series I-Back to Earth]

The last human male alive in the universe due to an accident leaving him in stasis for three million years, and has been a main character throughout the show. He wrongly thinks he is a fantastic guitarist, he is lazy and dirty. His life dream was to buy a small farm on Fiji. He is normally dressed in a leather jacket and hat, and his two best shirts have curry stains down the front of them.

RD - Skutter [Series I, Series III, Series VIII, Back to Earth]

A motorised service and maintenance robot. A 2 feet tall motorized box, with one limb, with three claws on the end. Skutters' behaviour is rather human like, they play cowboys-and-Indians, enjoy watching films and often gives the finger to Rimmer.

CD - Duane Dibbley [Series V, Series VI, Series VIII]

Duane Dibbley is the dorky alter-ego of the Cat, who has a pudding basin haircut and big overbite. Ace Rimmer describes him as "looking so geeky, he couldn't even get into a science fiction convention".

CD – Arnold Rimmer [Series I-Back to Earth]

Lister's bunkmate brought back to life as a hologram to keep Lister sane. He is unpopular with his crew mates, and is often the target of insults and pranks. He wore an "H" symbol on his forehead, which stands for "Hologram", but this has since gone.

CD – Ace Rimmer [Series IV, Series VI, Series VII]

An alter-ego of Arnold Rimmer, who is modest despite being a popular, knowledgeable daredevil hero. Anyone who comes into contact with Ace exclaims "What a guy!" in adoration.

CD – Kristine Kochanski [Series I, Series II, Series VI, Series VII-Back to Earth]

Red Dwarf's Navigation Officer who was the object of Lister's lust before she was killed by a radiation leak. In Series VII, the crew discover an alternate universe where Kochanski survived with Lister as her hologram. She ends up stuck on Starbug and becomes one of the crew.

LD – Olaf Petersen [Series I, mentioned many times]

A Danish catering officer on the Red Dwarf mining vessel, and best friend of Lister. He and Lister's other friends spend their free time getting drunk. Killed with the other crew in the Radiation leak

RM – Mr. Flibble [Series V]

A hand puppet penguin used by Rimmer when he was taken over by 'Hex virus', often 'Very cross.'

CM - Queeg [Series II]

Queeg was a practical joke played by Holly to make him appreciate him being there. Queeg claims that Holly's IQ is not 6,000 but 6 and that Holly gets his information from a children's science book. He uses an oppressive command style and is prone to unprovoked angry outbursts.

LM – Kryten [Series II, Series III-Back to Earth]

Kryten is a neurotic Series 4000 mechanoid robotic servant. He is humanoid, with the exception of the flat cubical face and head. Once the personal servant of three attractive female crew members of the Nova 5, he was found and rescued by Lister who has been teaching Kryten to "break his programming" in order to develop his own personality and develop human character faults (such as the ability to lie).

ST – The Cat [Series I-Back to Earth]

A humanoid descendant of a modern house cat called Frankenstein, which had been Lister's pet cat. The cat society (Felis erectus) left Red Dwarf seeking the promised land, leaving behind those who were too ill or old to travel. The Cat is the son of the cripple and the idiot.

Substitutes
GK - Holly [Series I-V, VII, VIII, Back to Earth]

Holly is the ships' computer. Holly's user interface appears on the ship's screens as a disembodied human head on a black background, he can also be downloaded onto most television screens, and can roam around on a monitor mounted on a cart. Holly regularly proclaims that he has an IQ of 6000, though there are frequent references to the fact that it is now much lower due to three million years alone, referred to as "computer senility."

CD – Quagaar warrior [Series I (mentioned)]

The Quagaars are an alien species made up by Rimmer, after a garbage pod entered the ship. The warrior is essentially a discarded roast chicken.

LM – Ramses Niblick the Third Kerplunk Kerplunk Oops Where's My Thribble [Series IV (mentioned)]

A former friend of Kryten, who, like Holly, suffers from computer senility. His real name is Gilbert. He popped up in a conversation about computer senility.

CM – Frankenstein [Series I]

Frankenstein was a common housecat, who was sealed in the hold when the radiation leak happened. The Cat calls Frankenstein the Holy Mother.

ST – Talkie Toaster [Series I, Series IV]

An annoying talking toaster, who offers toasted stuff at every possible opportunity. He was destroyed with a 14lb lump hammer by Lister, before being repaired by Kryten.

The Blue Foxes
Representing the Pacitalian Republic
in international men's football

The Pacitalians, defending champions and now seven-time winners of the regional trophy,
have returned for their 24th consecutive appearance at the AOCAF Cup. With the Marco
van Basten era behind them, all eyes are on new manager Narciso Pennachetti. Foxes fans
are hoping Pennachetti can replicate his success with his former league squad, Blue Bears
FC (who captured the Pacitalian first division title in 2012). This is also somewhat of a
changing of the guard on the pitch, with several former stalwarts reduced to the reserves
or left off the national team all together following dismal efforts at training camp.

Home Away Third

Manager
Seydiya At’rod’uin (Andossa Se Mitrin Vega) (F)
Age: 31
A young Vegan who seems a brilliant tactician after her first few campaigns in charge, taking the Marauders back to the Semifinals of World Cup 58. The youngest person to have ever filled a role in the Vanorian national team system, she was been appointed manager after Sloan's failure to get to the quaterfinal stage in back to back tournaments. Her star is in clear accent and looks to achieve even greater things, by making the Marauders a solid force in the region on top of its pedigree in the World Cup.

Assistant Manager
Clin Massai
Age: 10, 796
The mind behind Hondo FC's rise to power, he looks to be another one of the assistants who plays mediator between the manager and the staff.

Keeper

1 GK Mariaddren Undodhen, Vincanto (Erathore) ~
Age - 817
Sex - M
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 174 lbs
Undodhen has proved to be a steady and reliable keeper for the national team, though prone to the occasional howler. It is likely this proneness that has kept Undodhen from moving to a larger squad either domestically or abroad and could be a reason for Dart to finally get his chance between the woodwork.

Defenders

17 Hanutaut Lilithian, Soldarian FC
Age - 614
Sex - F
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 154 lbs
Agile and a superb little bit of tackling skill are her best attributes and she uses them well to confound attacking players into making plays that they would rather not.

12 Dwier Titenburg Jr, Royal Khaldoon (Queer Poco el Mono Ara)
Age - 429
Sex - M
Height: 6'3"
Weight: 162 lbs
Titenburg continues to tow the backline with the grit and skill needed to stifle even the most powerful of attacks on a game to game basis. He has far surpassed his father's shadow when it comes to football and will likely not be forgotten any time soon.

9 Thankanion Elenelwa, Mar Sara FC
Age - 612
Sex - M
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 180 lbs
A strong and physical presence that will put some bite into the backline alongside Titenburg.

Midfield

24 Espy va Drake, Yuba United (Paripana)
Age: 729
Sex - M
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 159 lbs
After becoming a folklore hero for the lower class of the world, va Drake has made himself one of the living legends of the game after help leading the side to a title in World Cup 53. He has traveled far and wide while plying his trade, donning kits for no less than four countries clubs, and finally returned him when he signed with United before last season. Seen as the driving force in the middle of the park alongside Hawk, it is up to the opposition to try and figure out how to deal with the brilliance the winger and his other attackers have rather than them to create magic.

21 Aintôrthea Durosa, Cafundó do Juta (Cafundeu)
Age - 738
Sex - F
Height: 5"10"
Weight: 144 lbs
Durosa is one of those players that can play just about any position, as her skill set is vast and adequate in multiple areas. She has done exceptionally well in her CMSC seasons, nabbing goals and assists with regularity and has continued with her transfer to the Cafundeu league. Her good knowledge of va Drake's typical playing patterns has made the two to be a devastating pair for the opposition to contain.

14 Laborious Hawk, Petardos S/A (Cafundeu)
Age - 693
Sex -M
Height: 6'5"
Weight: 213 lbs
Words do not even began to define his talent, his talent defines words. He was awarded one of the spots that the Vanorians have in the World Cup Hall of Fame, with it being very well deserved, as he has and continues to earn everything he has been given every single day.

8 Morronuth Neltanta, Wexax United ~
Age - 724
Sex - M
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 164 lbs
A strong and physical player who uses his body well when shielding off opposing players off the ball. Lacks the pace of some of the squad but is great at keeping possession and finding an outlet pass.

28 Faeron Soldarian, Raynor City United
Age - 607
Sex - M
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 163 lbs
Soldarian continues to live in the shadow of more well known players both on the national team and with his club. Despite this, Soldarian is seen by all on the squad as the emotional leader and the linchpin the in the middle that allows the more attacking minded midfielders being allowed to play their game.

Strikers

6 Allandren Fresco, Petardos S/A (Cafundeu)
Age - 482
Sex - M
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 167 lbs
Fresco has proved once again that he is suited for any role that his managers wish to give him, easily adjusting to Hearts style of play and learning his preferred moves. A great shot and football IQ make him a very dangerous attacker for the Marauders.

11 Lucas Hearts, Hondo FC
Age - 866
Sex - M
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 153 lbs
Hearts is an out and out goalscorer who has a nose for the goal and a talent for getting open even in a crowded box. His skills work quite well with the skill set of Fresco, and it produces a lethal one two strike force that will put fear into the hearts of those teams that must face a proud Marauders squad.

Osarius national football team for AOCAF 35

Following their qualification to the World Cup 59 finals, targets are being raised all-round, including those set for Osarius in Atlantian Oceania's regional football tournament. This does not, however, mean that the OFA have asked Alain Montblanc to change his selection process. Montblanc has allegedly insisted that he should be allowed to select a younger squad for the competition -- to be held in Carpathia and Ruthenia -- in a continuing attempt to develop the nation's football talents.

Manager: Alain Montblanc (57 years old)
Now officially the most successful national team manager ever -- though in fairness he doesn't have much competition, unless we're counting the pre-WCC days -- following his side's unbeaten qualifying run and two draws in the finals of World Cup 59. His system has slowly become more defensively solid during his tenure, but has not noticeably diminished the team's attacking potency. His tactical nous is much-praised within Osarius, though his future at the helm of the national team is allegedly in doubt. He is said to be unsatisfied with the OFA's commitment to his long-term development plan, and may not renew his contract ahead of the qualifiers for World Cup 60.

The team uses a 4-2-3-1 formation, with a style modifier of +1.5. The playing squad consists of players aged 25 and under only, in accordance with Montblanc's long-term development strategy, and is listed below. It is worth noting that approximately half of the squad have senior caps already, and there are several first team regulars present.

Kjeligsted: The 'Nation'

The Isle of Kjeligsted is a tiny, tiny island to the north of Audioslavia. It is famous for being rather rich, if a little stringent when it comes to lawmaking - the country recently outlawed alcohol, for example, with tobacco rumored to be on the way out as well. Football in Kjeligsted is, like Audioslavia, mostly amateur, but the game lags well behind Tennis, Cricket and Motor-racing on the rather wealthy island. As such, not much is ever expected of the team on the rare occasion they enter the AOCAF Cup.

Hello! If you are reading this then my tiny island of Kjeligsted has wandered off again. Please put it back in its box. It won't bite.

Sincerely,

Audioslavia.

The Sylvanaes Queendom is proud to present it’s sparkly new AOCAF squad. Somehow, quite aptly put, Queen Sonya has reincarnated the feared Necromancers.

The Necromancers, like all Sylvanae squads are all elf and all female.

You can do anything within the limits of a normal soccer match.

Er... playing in another tournament where we voluntarily surrendered our ability to reject the involuntary conscription to fill up that mythical "final" spot in an odds versus evens sort of contest, the Nellies of Nellietopia begrudgingly send the same darned team as the last one to compete.

The team plays without kits (have you seen a kit-maker that makes unisex singlets with eight sleeves? I think not...), but players may be readily identified by the painted white patterns. For those of you unaware of who or what Nellies are, there is a convenient NSWiki article for you. The team shall compete with 15 players, 11 starters and 4 alternates (one for each position). The roster is as follows:

Goalkeepers

B - The primo don of the nellies, this chap is perhaps one of the biggest monstrosities ever created. His ability to spin a web over the nets in just under eleven seconds is legendary, although we're still not sure if that's legal. Come to think of it, we're not sure why he's called "B", but that's what he puts on his back. Maybe he likes the shape? In any event, his size is enough to frighten even the cutest kittens; how that helps the team remains to be seen.

& - The reserve back-up to "B", just in case things don't work out. And owing to this guy's tiny size, it's probably better just to put someone else on the pitch and forgo having a keeper tending the net.

Defenders

Hello - Hello plays at right back, and he's the speediest little bugger on eight legs. Dribbling is a problem, but his speed is enough to compensate. Passing is a problem, although the good news is that he's got eight legs with which to try something. And if all else fails, he can stick the ball with some sticky silk. Or eat it (that creates other problems apparently though...).

David - Captain of the team, he actually has a name. The only one who has a name, in fact, but I'll be damned he says something that I'll ever understand. He's bigger than the other nellies, but he's still small compared to B. Of the nellies, David has got the leg-power to leap high over the tallest human. The problem then is trying to control that power. Heading is a problem, although he can crotch it just fine surprisingly.

Є601 - Obviously, this chap didn't have a mirror when he wrote his name. Or maybe he just likes looking at things rotated 180 degrees (one π). Less coherent than David but just as effective in the jump, Є601 is almost too eager to go into the tackle and may come out worse than when he went in. So please play nicely.

+ - We thought it was a "t" at first, but "+" was adamant that it was a plus sign... as if it knows what that means anyway... In any event, + is another speedy bugger, patrolling the left side with just as much ruthlessness as "Hello" does on the right. Passing and dribbling are problems, but considering most nellies want to pass to the left, we're just thankful that + doesn't do the same.

555 - Back-up defender, probably best placed in central defense, 555 isn't quite as good at jumping or speeding as any of the other nellies, but he makes up for that by just being mean. If he bites, we'll both be playing down one man (although there was that one time the referee didn't issue a red card... maybe it's because 555 instinctively bit him as well...).

Midfielders

ABC -Speedy right midfielder, he does a much better job at dribbling, such that it's really a marvel he's just a nellie. Eventually, we'll have to admit that he's just a short human with eight legs and no arms. Unfortunately, passing is a problem... for the fans, at least...

XYZ - The more defensive of two centre midfielders, XYZ has exquisite skill at holding the ball. In fact, it gets him in trouble every time he does, because he flies with the ball. Otherwise, speed is fantastic, passing so-so, and leaping needs improvement. He always enjoys long walks on a sunset beach, although this may be because he's hunting around that time anyway.

lulz - The more offensive of two centre midfielders, lulz has surprising strength for a nellie. And it gets him in trouble. He's more likely to grab you than the ball, but when he does play the ball, he's got a thunderous kick that will send anyone in its path flying. And that's a problem, with his poor accuracy.

:P - :P is so skilled as a left midfielder, much like +, avoiding that usual tendency to play off to the left (which, if you haven't guessed by now, means playing out of bounds on the left side). :P skills extends to his ability to play with just the two chelirae, which is ironic, considering as these are the two forefront appendages... Needless to say, he can play with his other eight legs just as fine as well.

984 - To be fair, 984 isn't a good player. He's just here to fill the ranks. In fact, he's more likely to run away in terror. He's terribly frightened of round balls.

Strikers

nub masduhshdshdgsfd - Yeah, we're not sure why he decided to write all of that on his back. But he's got a terrible knack to kick the ball accurately and with power. He's also speedy with the ball, but his headers need improvement. He's also prone to acting out ferocious temper tantrums (at least, that's what we think they are...).

harro - If you crossed a nellie with a harvestman, this is what you'd get - a long-legged nellie. Really, we think he just lifted weights a bit too much, and by process of biomagnification, his legs grew out. [ed. note: that's not what biomagnification means] Anyway, he's fast, agile, and technically gifted, but tripping opponents is an unfortunate hazard.

o_0 - o_0 is actually really gifted, perhaps the best player on the team. So why isn't he in the starting line-up? He thinks we're playing rugby and refuses to shoot under the bar.

Manager
The team is managed by a scared custodian. The nellies themselves play Kamikrazy style.

Legalese presents their roster for the 35th AOCAF Cup!

Some quick (semi-OOC) notes:
- Kit number, Club side, as well as the current age of the player is listed. All players are currently registered with domestic sides.
-Our style modifier will be +3.

And now, for the squad:

(The Usual) Starters:
GK: 1 - Stan Thate, 29, Rhinos. First AOCAF appearance, and fresh off of his 2nd Cup Campaign, and first as a starter.
D: 2 - Phil Livingston, 27, Cragland Climbers. This is Phil's 2nd AOCAF, with a total of 17 appearances between the previous AOCAF and the last World Cup campaign.
D: 3 - Gus Langdon, 33, Okerson United. The "Iron Eagle" completed his 2nd Cup - first as Captain - but may very well be looking at his last international participation. He has 26 previous appearances, and remains the team's captain.
D: 4 - Joe Ellsworth, 24, The Knights of Tiberia. Ellsworth has six starts and eight appearances to his name, five coming in AOCAF XXXIV.
DM: 5 - Sam Washington, 24, Bob's Towing. Sam is known for his ability to play back as a fourth defender if necessary, but will also press forward. His AOCAF XXXIV performance helped him earn his cup slot, in which he scored his first and second international goals.
M: 6 - Gerard Torrens, 28, LC Capitals. Gerard returns for his first AOCAF, having earned 17 caps in the last two World Cup campaigns.
M: 7 - Jonny Baldwin, 29, Argyle Warriors. Baldwin also made the last WC spot from his AOCAF performance. However, it may take another strong run for him to not see the bench.
M: 8 - Archie Sanroman, 29, Ellentown Exempts. Archie makes his 1st AOCAF appearance, having appeared in 24 World Cup qualifying matches, while scoring 5 goals.
F: 9 - Del Bialek, 31, Gavelton Bangers. Bialek is an odd choice for a starter, but likely helped earn the role by leading the Premiership in scoring last season. At 31, he'll be making his first international start, and his second appearance.
F/M: 10 - Roger Maur, 25, Rhinos. A reserve in World Cup qualifying, Maur steps in for the retiring Samuel Wilson. This will be his first AOCAF and his first international appearances.
F: 11 - Jimmy Jay, 24, Bob's Towing. Bob's Towing has a knack for pulling talent out of nowhere, and with Jimmy Jay, it continues to show. Jay put on a display in the last AOCAF, scoring ten goals in five matches - a feat attributed to both his light touch and ball-control, as well as Legalese's tendency to play all-out for the goal as the hosts. He scored another four goals in qualifying while wearing the #9, and was the team's leading scorer. He regains the team's vaunted #11 shirt, with Kelvin Bassford's absence - but another strong performance could keep him in it.

Reserves:
12 - Leonard Dobrun, 30, Bob's Towing (D)
13 - Roy Whitcraft, 25, Ostia Ostriches (D)
14 - Liam Todd, 23, Argyle Warriors (D)
15 - Jack Wayne, 20, Brecorn City (M)
16 - Chase Liquet, 26, GSC Grizzlies (M)
17 - Monte Kelshimer, 22, Tiberian City (M)
18 - Garry Maharry, 25, Bob's Towing (F)
19 - Fred Rutledge, 21, Francis City (F)
20 - Reuben Hascal, 26, Okerson United (GK)
21 - Bobby Johnson, 22, Selinstown Chiefs (GK)

Manager: Gabe Cushing
Assistants: Mark Barbour and Hamish McKinley

Sorry it's so late, been too busy to update a roster properly.

Sakaino University Athletic Conference Forms 6X105 - B, C, E, F, W:

General Information
The Kiryu-shi National Football Team is administrated by the Sakaino University Athletic Committee, a leading group in the movement to bring back competitive team sports to Kiryu-shi after a decades long hiatus. After a couple of international tournaments, the Kiryu-shi national team still finds itself suffering from a lack of a dedicated fan base. Consequently, a few changes have been made to the Kiryu-shi lineup to make it more attack-centric. Primarily, the Sakaino University Athletic Committee came to consensus to move to a formation with four forwards and four attacking midfielders in the AOCAF Cup. While Coach Marja Mayberry is not part of the council, some people are sure that it will work out well.

AOCAF 35 Coaching Staff
Head Coach
Marja Mayberry
Age: 53
Bio: Grand-daughter of esteemed Kiryu-shi legend Pat Mayberry, Marja Mayberry was taught the sport by her father during the country-wide ban on sports, and remains one of the only people in the entire nation with the credentials to lead anything related to football. Although she was successful in the sea-weed collection industry for decades, she was also a leading advocate for the reforms that allowed Kiryu-shi to build a football program, pressuring legislators to institute youth and university leagues throughout the country. Following her success, Mayberry has retired from her previous job to lead the national team, although has expressed dismay and low hopes for the inaugural attempt to compete in the AOCAF Cup.

Assistant Coach
Boaz Crow
Age: 47
Bio: Like Mayberry, Boaz Crow is the grandchild of a former national team member, goalkeeper Jon Crow. Although the younger Crow doesn’t have the same experience as Mayberry does, he has proven himself to be a good motivator and trainer of young players, particularly defenders. A teacher before he was hired to become the assistant coach of the national team, Crow tends to focus on the team itself and has a tendency to crumble under outside media scrutiny. However, his enthusiasm has made him popular among the squad itself.

Assistant Coach
Kris von Particulie
Age: 32
Bio: von Particulie is a new assistant coach recently hired by the Sakaino University Athletic Committee. Although the fact that he has no experience at all has led people to claim that he was hired for political purposes, he claims to have a strong vision for the team based in “a lot of kicking and purposeful striding.” A strong leader, he yells a lot and gets along very well with people who dress in suits.

AOCAF 35 Official Roster

Formation: 2-4-4

GK
Kohei Yasumu
(#1)
Age: 23
Sakaino University
Bio: Yasumu is best known on the team for his quiet demeanor, which can be variously described as soothing, calm, boring, and lackadaisical. Although difficult to tell if he ever cares enough about his team to reliably try for any shots where he has to leave his feet, he has tremendous reflexes, according to the nation’s most reliable evaluators. In collegiate play, he has yet to lose a match for the powerhouse Sakaino squad, but wasn’t all that successful in the DiBradini Cup, where some felt his lack of enthusiasm contributed to Kiryu-shi not advancing past the group stage. In his first World Cup qualification stage, he found himself overwhelmed, at time, but more or less consistent. There were no complete blow-ups, although his lack of proper positioning led to several of the more easy goals for opposing players. There are those who call his inclusion to the starting squad a obvious ploy for favoritism, an homage to Sakaino’s prestige, but truth be told, there is simply a severe dearth of goal-keeping talent in the country.

DF

Olive Ferguson (#5)
Age: 23
Aioi University
Bio: Ferguson derives tremendous pleasure from her position as the assertive center back for the national team. Her role as the captain, bolstered by her height and her willingness to intimidate other players into voting for her, comes as no surprise, as she is by far the most vocal person on the practice pitch at any given time. While she is earning dual degrees in astrophysics and late medieval pacific poetry, her goal in life is to develop an effective way to break opposing toes without being caught, a skill which has just eluded her thus far, as evidenced by her 14 cards in 33 matches over two seasons for Aioi University. Ferguson barely stayed afloat of the law, collecting more than double the amount of fouls than all of her teammates combined, and collecting five yellow cards over the twelve qualifying games. Although she was forced to sit out a match, she remains proud of her style of play, and was likely the most effective player on the field at any given point. While she has been an outspoken critic of the team’s departure from their defensive philosophy for the AOCAF, imminent benching has caused her to keep her most negative comments to herself.

Kenta Takenomi (#17)
Age: 20
Aioi University
Bio: Takenomi is a fine, upstanding young man with many virtues affiliated with likeminded fine, upstanding young men. He has a tendency to get degenerately inebriated multiple times a week, but always keeps up a firm mantra and appearance. He indubitably has the firmest handshake of anyone on the Kiryu-shi side, with broad shoulders and a deceptively inadequate work ethic, which he earns an adequate but not excessive amount of praise for. He shows true qualities, like hustle, grit, effort, and overall manliness, but never manages to quite shine brightly, except for when he smiles, which he does in appropriate situations. While he is generally disrespected by his teammates, his coaches love him, and he has earned a place on the starting squad through an impressive combination of looking the right part and playing hard. His style of play is actually very complementary with Olive Ferguson, as they command one of the toughest defenses in the University scene.

MF

Charles Meer (#8)
Age: 21
Kasakake University
Bio: A literary type from a more academic university, Meer provides an offensive spark from the back line, combining derogatory insults with a fleet-footed desperation. His ability to yell names at opposing players as he runs past him has endeared him to opposing fans, who often celebrate his eloquence with sharp projectiles thrown in the vicinity of his face. He strikes an imposing figure on the pitch as well, one of the tallest members of the squad, with a classically pencil-like build. He has a small, cultish swarm of devoted followers who create and collect altered images of his imposing nose around visual blogs online. During World Cup qualifications, his cultish swarm had representatives at every home game, often holding up signs of his nose and cheerfully shouting expletives in his general direction.

J.J. Erickson (#12)
Age: 23
Sakaino University
Bio: The assist leader of the nation over the past three years, Erickson shines when he is able to create opportunities for players. He is definitely not the most physically gifted player, a little short, a little pudgy, and more than a little slow, but he can dictate the pace of the match with his well timed, piercing passes. Erickson is particularly proud of his stat line, never letting anyone else take a free kick from the wings, or a corner, constantly looking for ways to pad his assist number. Although he is inordinately proud of his stature and ability, Erickson does play hard, so long as he looks good. The moment his myriad weaknesses are exposed, he tends to get moody and tackle-happy. Although he would never soberly admit it, Erickson has sustained a somewhat unhealthy adoration of his teammate Barnes since she joined the Sakaino squad, which tends to manifest itself on the pitch by over exaggerated attempts at yelling at referees when calls don’t go her way. Erickson’s fitness and form did not play well in the qualification process, leading many to suspect that he would be a member of the reserves for the Cup of Harmony. However, he provides a presence in the midfield that no one else on the squad has, and has the best set piece skill set in the nation.

Connor Boyle (#7)
Age: 18
Sakaino University
Bio: While Boyle has enjoyed a high amount of success as a forward at Sakaino, paired with Lidia Barnes at the head of the highest scoring team in the country, he will attempt to play a secondary role in the AOCAF at a position he has never occupied previously. While likely the fastest straight-away sprinter on the team, Boyle plays with a wildness that isn’t necessarily conducive to consistent success on the pitch, often enthusiastically hitting the ball in the same general area of the goal, but rarely actually scoring. Young and enthusiastic, he views the AOCAF as his great opportunity to break out on the international squad.

Melanie Griffith (#13)
Age: 19
Sakuragi University
Bio: Griffith has one of the strongest legs on the squad, and uses it to her advantage fairly effectively. Slightly less athletic than most of her other teammates, she still manages to be effective, and has a deadly long distance shot. She has a tendency to try and sneak a shot in from virtually any distance she can figure out, although it is with met with fairly limited success. She needs a fair amount of space in order to get her shot off, and while it is strong and generally accurate, it doesn’t tend to have the explosive quality generally associated with elite distance goal scorers. Griffith also has a tendency to rely on her right leg a little much, and has the distinctly special quality of wearing different color cleats, with what she considers to be an endearing gold-colored covering on her right foot.

FW
Samantha DeCastro
(#11)
Age: 20
Amanuma University
Bio: DeCastro was one of the most contentious selections for the starting eleven, as she wasn’t even a starter for her University team until the end of the DiBradini Cup. Relatively inexperienced compared to many of the other players, what she lacks in ball handling skill, she makes up with her otherworldly balance, flexibility, and overall athleticism. The best pure athlete on the team, and completely ambidextrous, DeCastro has a tremendous awareness of her body and has displayed a tendency to score highly unusual goals, rarely shooting the ball so much as being in the right place at the right time with the right angle. After a limited amount of success in four games in the DiBradini Cup, where she scored just one of Kiryu-shi’s five goals, she has a lot of room to grow as a player. Gregarious and friendly, DeCastro doesn’t seem like the prototypical attacker, but she competes hard on the pitch, even if that means she tends to be offsides most of the time. While scoring half of the team’s goals was an admirable start for Samantha, she did not manage to sustain the level of play she expected for herself, and often drifted back into a supporting role instead of getting the ball into the back of the net. Still a fringe starter, she has developed more ball handling skills, but hasn’t progressed to the point where she is making a visible contribution on the pitch.

Lidia Barnes (#6)
Age: 21
Sakaino University
Bio: The recipient of Erickson’s relative generosity with the soccer ball, Barnes has destroyed the University league with her fine touch and intricate scoring sensibilities. The most sarcastic member of the starting eleven by a significant portion, Barnes enjoys mocking what she perceives to be the inane vapidity of the rest of her teammates, and subsequently tends to enjoy herself. With an exuberant appreciation for the finer foods in life, and an academic focus in anthropology, Barnes views international soccer as a vehicle to explore new cultures and eat new foods. On the pitch, she is not particularly fleet of foot, but is able to read defenses and patterns well enough to create goals. Her overall athleticism can create opportunities when she takes on defenders, and her understanding of tactics establishes her as one of the premier midfielders in Kiryu-shi. With one goal in qualification, she started to gain a taste for trying harder, but her newfound passion has created some tension with teammates, who she mocks more than ever.

Bob Libby (#10)
Age: 23
Sakuragi University
Bio: Libby transcends the football pitch in a way that no one else on the team can - he provides what little grace that the Kiryu-shi team can muster up, elegantly moving up the sides of the pitch with a ball close to his feet. His ability to visualize and break down opponents with his footwork, one on one, creates many opportunities for his university side, yet the moment he tries to place the ball anywhere more than three yards away from him, it usually ends in calamity. Earnest and competitive, there is nothing that he would like more than to be able to make shots on goal, and yet there is no skill on the pitch that he is worse at. His qualifying campaign was marked by a reenforcement of those qualities; unable to make the plays that are necessary to win, but always able to come at least moderately close.

Ritsu Shinabata (#14)
Age: 22
Kawauchi University
Bio: One of the more prolific scorers in Kiryu-shi, Shinabata was considered to be a favorite to start for the national team during the previous World Cup Qualifications, and is finally getting a shot in the AOCAF. Tempramental and prone to fits if he does not have his daily raisins, Shinabata is only respected on the team when he is on the field, and is actively hated by much of the team anywhere else.

Urchins' AOCAF 35 Squad Released

Qichechumadia Zhabi - Though the announcement was lost to public view in the sweeping spectacle of senatorial elections in the Federation, finally the AOCAF 35 Kagdazka and Pazhujebu roster was located underneath a pile of custom-made 'I'm For Eherebhimi' running shoes in the Department of Sport staff kitchen. Though donut sprinkles left the document stained rather pink in multiple locations, it is perfectly legible, and contains a few items of merit worth reporting here in the Herald.

For one thing, Maksim Astafyev's wildly successful first full World Cup cycle means little tactical changes to the outfit. The hybrid 5-3-2/4-4-2 formation is still favored, and Astafyev apparently went out of his way to retain as many players from the World Cup 59 roster as he could. However, he also adopted a policy of "if you want to rest, I'll let you," giving players the option to decide whether they wanted to appear in AOCAF 35 or not. Where players declined to be selected, players on the outside of the Urchins scene were invited in for trial runs.

So which players were loyal and which ones weren't? Just kidding. Nobody who wanted to rest their legs should be given too hard a time. Exhaustion is rife as the team endured in the last World Cup for much longer than anybody anticipated, and so some players could do with a bit of time off.

Whether you want to judge them or not, the following players selected for the World Cup 59 squad declined to travel to Carpathia and Ruthenia for the AOCAF Cup: Baltabek Ignatyev, Natasha Klossovskaya, Ryurik Mizirov, Zhavivi Qathif'ajuju, Yuri Utepov, Lazhthuthezha Jujazhedhi, Yuzhissa Aghimaqaj, Fušia Oujadda, Ouamchi Pudibhišu, Patel Zev, and Thavjiv Šeruthuvu. It is worth stressing that none of the players listed are in any way outside the good graces of Mr. Astafyev; come World Cup 60 qualifying many, if not all, of them, will be back.

In the meantime, several veterans, like Zubeida Ichuvihaja, Jahat Chahachim, and Arkhip Tikhomirov will (at least briefly) rejoin the fold. One could interpret their reappearances as either swan songs before retirements or auditions for a full return to the national team. There are some new players of the youthful persuasion as well: Sampura Siriko and Rodian Bakhvalov will try their hand in midfield and Maksim Voroshilov and Pachomiusam Bhu will be blooded in attack.

Kits.
ImageImage

After several World Cup cycles sporting uniforms manufactured by a Cotdelapomais kit maker, the KPFA has signed a deal with the Pazhujebi sportswear company Hudhucharu Zurzhaq. News that a domestic manufacturer has taken over has pleased the more nationalistic fans of the side. The wisteria shirt, along with black shorts, is used for home matches; likewise, the white shirt, along with white shorts, is used for away matches. During neutral-venue tournaments, like the AOCAF, the Urchins will alternate between the two kits. Rarely, the wisteria shirt may be used with white shorts or the white shirt may be used with black shorts, but these pairings will only occur when needing to resolve a color conflict with an opponent's strip.

Manager.
Image

With the career of Brutušam Erassi as Urchins manager over, the KPFA had to make a quick and critical decision. Luckily, it seems they made a good one. In has come Maksim Astafyev, an Aypabirsk native who orchestrated the 5251 promotion of his hometown club Nekromanti before being brought to Urajbina for the 5252 season. In his two seasons there, he simplified the mess left behind by previous boss Ignacio Vélez with elementary tactics and an empowering player-first approach.

There, his partnership with Urajbina captain Aqhorassia Bhara was notoriously close (some in the media even intimating that their relationship was romantic, though this was never proven), and those ties have continued with the Urchins, as he's handed the tenacious little center back the national team armband. In general, sports historians have observed that Astafyev does tend to appreciate quick, mobile defenders who can play in multiple positions.

Astafyev, who recently turned forty, is the youngest Urchins manager of all time. Generally speaking, his greatest skill is man-management; knowing how to get players on side and keep a dressing room intact are high priorities in an Astafyev-coached team. These skills were apparently just what the team needed, as at last Kagdazka and Pazhujebu found success in the World Cup finals under Astafyev, reaching the semifinals in the tournament's 59th edition.

Formation.
While Erassi's all-out attack strategy is now gone (good look to the Sargossans with that), Astafyev's K&P will nonetheless stay positive. The oft-discussed 5-3-2 formation, which proved successful during World Cup 59 qualifying, and received near-universal critical acclaim, will remain in effect during the WC 59 finals.

However, the introduction of Yuzhissa Aghimaqaj to the starting eleven during WC59 qualifying, in place of Vsevolod Ogorodov, changed the shape of the squad somewhat, particularly in situations where the side was in need of a goal, and this shift has since remained an integral tactical nuance of the Urchins' approach. Aghimaqaj, who is a left-sided, attack-minded player, stayed in front of Tykaraije Makureru, causing the Vulkan left back to drop off a bit. Natasha Klossovskaya, meanwhile, was given the license to push forward into a fully midfield role. This caused the 5-3-2 to shift into Astafyev's old classic 4-4-2. Though this AOCAF squad does not contain Klossovskaya or Aghimaqaj, the concept will be utilized yet again, only reversed: Makureru will be asked to push ahead on the left, while Andropov's responsibility will be to stay back as Sampura Siriko pushes ahead on the right. Here's how that will look.

Information for the Foreign Mahathu Herald Reader

First of all, thanks for buying our paper! We're a rather small outfit as there are a couple of big Pazhujebi-language papers in Mahathu we have to compete with, so we appreciate the business. Secondly, you have probably gathered that Kagdazka and Pazhujebu have two very distinct identities, and you're right. There is a metric ton of information about the Federation available on the country's NSwiki page, including more on this team and on the country's domestic league. Please feel free to give it a read.
