World Cup 20 Champions

GOALKEEPERS:

[ 85 ] Nycflala Kater [ - Strike FC - ]
------- GK ( AGE: 20 CAPS: 20 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: )
Descended of former National Team goalkeeper Jimmy Kater, who took over the starting position on the National Team under the intense spotlight of the World Cup 17 Finals in Vilita and remained first choice keeper for the majority of Vilitan national competition in subsequent seasons before joining the coaching staff for World Cup 31. Nycflala made his full debut for the Vilita National Team during World Cup 57 where he was named the starter in 14 of Vilitas 16 qualification matches. Kater performed strongly with 6 shutouts and a 5.86 average rating. Many claim that the focus on the World Cup 57 Qualifying campaign distracted Strike players such as Kater from performing well domestically in VLeague 26. Kater ensured there would be no dissapointment in VLeague 27 leading Strike comfortably to both the League and Cup titles.

[ 92 ] Jungrii Canopii [ - Eastal Lunar - ]
------- GK ( AGE: 19 CAPS: 2 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: )
Canopii spent most of World Cup 57 Qualifications on the bench, earning three substitute appearances in official matches, though he was named starter for the mid-qualification charity match against Akbarabad to raise money for big cats, where he made 11 saves. Despite spending most of the campaign as the primary backup, Canopii was not given the opportunity to start when #1 keeper Kater missed two matches, leading doubts as to whether he is looked upon as a serious canadidate for the starting role in the future. After starting at the Inland Academy then signing for Inland Peaks, Canopii left the home-town club when they were relegated from the Stellar Division after Season 26, joining cross-range rivals Eastal Lunar.

[ 95 ] Jawz Tiiaupila [ - Hojosan (TYZ) - LOAN - ]
------- GK ( AGE: 18 CAPS: 1 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: )
Tiiaupila has made just one appearance for the Vilitan National Team, coming in a shock defeat against Brendino the 3rd during World Cup 57 Qualifications. The 1-3 defeat was pointed at by many critics as the sole reason the Jungle Cats were unable to make a return to the World Cup Finals, dropping a full three points against the groups bottom side and inevitably finishing just one point out of the playoff zone. Tiiaupila moved from Inland Rovers on a loan to newly promoted Hojosan in The Yorozura after WC57 quals as part of an investment deal with the clubs kit sponsors, VIlitan based Vilaye energy drink.

[ 98 ] Atacir Tivalan [ - Makosile FC - ]
------- GK ( AGE: 18 CAPS: 0 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: )
Tivalan architected an outstanding season for Makosile FC in the Vilitan Stellar Division, season 26 leading the Mako's to a top 4 finish in the table, and earning a high-profile transfer to the Yeaddin Owls. Although Tivalan played well at the Castle, the team was languishing unfamiliarly near the bottom half of the table, while Makosile also struggled. The Owls decided to part company with the goalkeeper who was welcomed back to Makosile, finishing the season strong conceding just 8 goals in 15 games.

[ 91 ] Aranora Jaded [ - Arcticala Inlet - ]
------- GK ( AGE: 15 CAPS: 0 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: )
Jaded was given a great confidence boost by the decision of the coaching staff to sell Jaqe Planst to Cednia Beach AFC. The two young keepers were fighting for the right to be the next Arcticala starting keeper, and Jaded won that job, leading Arcticala to the Tropical Trophy title in Season 27 - on penalty kicks, against his opposite number Planst who was making his first start for Cednia Beach since leaving Arcticala.

DEFENDERS:

[ 9 ] Ritopa Simafela [ - Strike FC - ]
------- D LC ( AGE: 20 CAPS: 15 :: GOALS::SR: 2 U21: REG: )
Ritopa was a standout product of the Lunar Academy and was named as one of the captains of Vilita's World Cup 57 Qualifying Squad. The son of a Rocket Scientist and a Physicist, Simafela is already well educated and is in no way reliant on a career in sports. However, strong performances during his debut qualifying campaign including a 6.05 average rating and 2 goals spurred transfer inquiries from foreign clubs and comparisons to Vilitan greats like Enzo Ahat and Ricky Ezis. Simafela transferred to Strike FC for VLeague 27 and was an instrumental part of their double success in the League and Cup.

[ 94 ] Miiara Makose [ - Strike FC - ]
------- D C ( AGE: 18 CAPS: 17 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: )
Makose has Druidan blood, though has been diluted through multiple generations. He was trained as a goalkeeper in Turori but did not want to be stuck in the shadows of Nycflala Kater, so switched over to the defensive role when joining the Strike Academy. The transition was clearly justified as Makose was one of the top performing players in World Cup 57 qualifying, carrying a 6.65 average rating while appearing in 14 of Vilita's 16 group matches. Makose was also part of Strike's dominating VLeague 27 performances winning the League and Cup titles with the club.

[ 68 ] Kadi Molali [ - Eastal Lunar - ]
------- D R ( AGE: 20 CAPS: 17 :: GOALS::SR: 1 U21: REG: )
Molali has the ability to make stunning runs up the right side of the field and has put together exciting 'from-nothing' goal scoring opportunities in weekly scrimmage matches. Molali was an exciting prospect for the Turoki Academy who was solid, but not exceptional during World Cup 57 Qualifying, making 13 appearances and scoring 1 goal. After joining multiple clubs, including Strike FC, Molali left the VLeague abrubtly in the middle of VLeague 26. After some time off, Molali returned, signing for Eastal Lunar FC and completing a strong VLeague Season 27.

[ 3 ] Niubo Deneli [ - Strike FC - ]
------- D LC ( AGE: 20 CAPS: 0 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: )
Deneli was a solid prospect for the Strike Academy before a decline in his development after the age of 15, a time at which he was considered the best defensive prospect in the country. He ended up signing his first professional contract with local side Lonngeylin Coast, helping them get invited to the Declasse for Season 27, and helping them keep that spot for Season 28. Deneli, however, would leave the club and return to the other side of the street to play for Strike FC in Season 28.

[ 64 ] Uajiala Pulkki [ - Cednia Beach AFC (TUR) - ]
------- D C ( AGE: 19 CAPS: 5 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: )
Pulkki is a descendent of former Inland Peaks FC defender Pasi Pulkki, and many are saying he could even be better then his ancestors. Pulkki unfortunately lasted barely 22 minutes in his competitive debut against Ipeland in World Cup 57 qualifying, but has put in some more impressive performances since. Like many of his teammates, Pulkki left Inland Peaks after their relegation in VLeague 26, and headed over to Eastal Lunar. Pulkki was a star for Eastal during VLeague 27 earning a transfer to former champions Cednia Beach AFC for VLeague 28.

[ 67 ] Eda Shindhi [ - Cednia Beach AFC (TUR) - ]
------- D LC ( AGE: 20 CAPS: 2 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: )
Shindhi is a player in the mold of former Marine Coast defensive stalwarts Ade Hinds and Sibusiso Azaiez. While Shindhi still has some development to go before realizing his full potential, it is expected that he will continue to get a run out from time to time as his skills progress. Shindhi made his competitive debut in defeat against Brendino the 3rd during World Cup 57 Qualifying but did not impress in that performance. After being trainined at the Coastal Academy, Shindhi signed his first professional contract with Marine Coast United. However, relegation was not acceptable to Shindhi, who left the club for VLeague 27, signing with the reigning champions at the time, Cednia Beach AFC.

[ 66 ] Sipaao Vereaoao [ - Marine Coast United - ]
------- D L ( AGE: 18 CAPS: 1 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: )
A product of the Inland Academy, Vereaoao has played in both Vilita & Turori, but committed his future to the Jungle Cats when featuring for them as a half time substitute against Nitrome Island during World Cup 57 qualifying. Vereaoao left long-time home Inland Peaks after they failed to achieve promotion from the Declasse during VLeague 27. Vereaoao signed for Marine Coast United, who had earned promotion in addition to a place in International Competitions

[ 63 ] Baiiub Jual-Knakok [ - Laiotia Locals - ]
------- D LC ( AGE: 19 CAPS: 0 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: )
A product of the Coastal Academy, Jual-Knakok is a left footed defender nicknamed "the Cricket" by his peers. The Cricket has been loyal to the Laiotia Locals in the Non-Leagues ever since signing his first professional contract, though the lack of exposure and experience has dropped him down the National Team depth chart.

[ 8 ] Ricata Amakra [ - Orbital Kickers - ]
------- D C ( AGE: 19 CAPS: 0 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: )
The product of the Alikka-Corra Academy is a defender being compared locally with former Alikki-Corra FC defender Emarka Laniora. While he doesn't yet share the same ability to charge up either wing with the ball, his solid defensive skills should see him earn some playing time with the National Team. Amakra has been a star performer in the Non-Leagues with the Orbital Kickers.

[ 4 ] Timmson Leabiura [ - Tivali United - ]
------- D C ( AGE: 20 CAPS: 0 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: )
The development of Timmson Leabiura seems to be hampered by his family's inability to stay put, and he has found himself at 6 different academies in his short sporting career. After training at the Strike Academy off and on, it was hoped by pundits that his development would spark. Leabiura would move once again to sign his first professional deal, joining Tivali United in the Declasse.

[ 4 ] Tyaoino Munviola [ - Laiotia Locals - ]
------- D C ( AGE: 19 CAPS: 6 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: )
A towering defender with a dependable head, Munviola is not afraid to join the attack on corner kicks, and rarely loses a defensive header. His feet have let him down from time to time, but have been improving. Despite his inconsistencies, Munviola was a surprise package during World Cup 57 qualifying, making 6 appearances and having a strong ratings average. Munviola plays for Non-League Laiotia Locals in Vilita

DEFENSIVE MID:

[ 36 ] Retiso Buran [ - Strike FC - ]
------- DM C ( AGE: 20 CAPS: 19 :: GOALS::SR: 2 U21: REG: )
Retiso Buran was the top prospect at the Sile Academy specializing in the defensive midfield role once made famous by Jürgen Ramzi. Buran is a ferocious player who some has said can be seen with teeth gritted ready to pounce as the attacking side approaches. Appearing almost exclusively during World Cup 57 qualifying, Buran missed only one game and scored 2 goals during the campaign. Burans perofmances both for the National Team and for Makosile earned him a transfer to Strike FC for Season 27, where he earned the Vilitan Stellar Divisions top goalscorer award for the second consecutive season, the first time ever achieved by a midfielder.

[ 39 ] Tujamu Treola [ - - Unattached - - ]
------- DM C ( AGE: 17 CAPS: 2 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: )
A product of the Strike Academy, Tujamu Treola excels both defensively in the midfield, and with his head both defensively and on corner kicks. Treola made his competitive debut in World Cup 57 qualifying against West Zirconia, but has never signed a professional contract.

[ 38 ] Dronik Ratuva [ - Morata Valley - ]
------- DM RLC ( AGE: 19 CAPS: 0 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: )
Dronik Ratuva was an exciting prospect from the Valley Academy, who is also able to move wide to defensively cover the wings when 2 or 3 central defenders are used. Ratuva helped Morata Valley earn promotion to the Stellar Division during VLeague 26.

[ 34 ] Danie Izmao [ - Strike Academy - ]
------- DM C ( AGE: 19 CAPS: 0 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: )
Izmao was a Strike Academy prospect who, while not rated as the highest defensive midfield prospect at the academy, was still expected to get a run out with the National Squad in World Cup 57 Qualifiers. That chance never came, and the Venom weren't interested when it came time to award professional contracts. Izmao went across the road to Lonngeylin Coast and was instrumental in helping them not only get invited to rejoin the Vilitan League System - but for the first time ever, to stay there for at least a second consecutive season. Izmao is still part of the national team player pool, especially should any injuries come in to play

[ 30 ] Ukalai Saluria [ - Jaguar Moreda - ]
------- DM C ( AGE: 18 CAPS: 0 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: )
Saluria was a product of the Turoki Academy, who has trained with the National Team as an alternate since World Cup 57. Saluria has played for Jaguar Moreda in the Vilitan Non-League system.

MIDFIELDERS:

[ 21 ] Jomur Hulyer [ - Strike FC - ]
------- M LC ( AGE: 19 CAPS: 18 :: GOALS::SR: 4 U21: REG: )
A decsendent of the exciting Marine Coast and Yeaddin midfielder Jonjo Hulyer, Jomur has been compared heavily to his ancestors and even carries the same squad number. Unlike Jonjo, however, Jomur was trained at the Yeaddin Academy. Hulyer would soon become the quickest player to ever represent all three of the original Vilitan Dynasties, signing his first professional contract with Marine Coast United before transferring to Strike for VLeague 28.

[ 53 ] Resaie Kentiak [ - Arcticala Inlet - ]
------- M RC ( AGE: 18 CAPS: 2 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: )
Kentiak is a product of the Coastal Academy who has played a substitute role in the center of midfield for the Vilitan National Team.

[ 27 ] Rexii Tzikas [ - Cednia Beach AFC (TUR) - ]
------- M RC ( AGE: 19 CAPS: 22 :: GOALS::SR: 2 U21: REG: ) :: [ 6.01 Average Rating ]
Tzikas was the top propsect of the Arcticala Academy, and one of the most highly rated players in the Vilitan National Team pool entering World Cup 57 Qualifiers. The Tzikas name has some history in Vilitan Sport, formerly, Toby Tzikas was a midfielder on the National Team, though he was less known than other former Vilitan Stars as he played his club football in Starblaydia. Rexii was the only Vilitan player to start every single match during qualifications for World Cup 57. His presence was strong averaging a 6.01 rating with 2 goals. Tzikas strong performances also were reflected domestically scoring 9 goals in 2 seasons with Turoki Tide before transferring to Cednia Beach for VLeague 28 season.

[ 51 ] Steffyn Siazzu [ - Yeaddin Owls AFC - ]
------- AM C ( AGE: 18 CAPS: 19 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: )
An exciting prospect from the Yeaddin Academy, Siazzu plays behind the strikers in a clean up or attacking role atop the midfield. Despite not scoring during World Cup 57 Qualifiers, Siazzu was an important presence.

[ 74 ] Jian Lejsrma [ - Strike FC - ]
------- AM RL ( AGE: 19 CAPS: 0 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: )
Lejsrma is a speed demon who was trained at the Strike Academy. The most dynamic and pacey winger in the Vilitan system, he is expected to be a great player for many seasons to come. At this stage in his development, he may get overlooked as he works more on his technique and vision, but with experience, he will learn these skills. Lejsrma has been an important part of Strike FC's VLeague successes

[ 55 ] Viliaka Morasita [ - Inland Peaks FC - ]
------- M LC ( AGE: 19 CAPS: 12 :: GOALS::SR: 1 U21: REG: )
Morasita was the top prospect coming out of the Tivali Academy, playing central and left midfield. His sure footed tackling ability is noted but he is a well balanced midfielder. After playing a season and a half professionally for Alikki-Corra, Morasita joined the Vilitan League with Inland Peaks FC midway through VLeague 27.

[ 70 ] Aniara Jiurjai [ - Strike FC - ]
------- M RLC ( AGE: 18 CAPS: 11 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: )
Jiurjai was trained in Turori but declared for Vilita after being called upon for World Cup 57 Qualifying. Jiurjai can play both central and outside midfield and can use both feet equally well. After declaring for Vilita, Jiurjai moved from Turori to Turoki to play with the Turoki Tide. Strong performances during VLeague 26 earned Jiurjai a transfer to Strike for VLeague 27 where the midfielder was instrumental to Strike's League and Cup double.

[ 24 ] Astara Daiili [ - Marine Coast United - ]
------- M C ( AGE: 20 CAPS: 19 :: GOALS::SR: 1 U21: REG: )
Daiili is a classic central midfielder who prefers a holding role and short distribution. With Starblaydi blood and Vilitan determination, Daiili was a consistent performer during World Cup 57 Qualifiers making 19 appearances with a 6.07 average rating.

[ 28 ] Riksa Valjariia [ - Inland Peaks FC - ]
------- AM C ( AGE: 19 CAPS: 3 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: )
Valjariia is an attacking midfielder who was trained at the Turoki Academy. Valjariia tends to come on the pitch to provide an attack boost, some times as a second attacking midfielder in a substitute role. Valjariia has played professionally for Inland Peaks FC.

[ 73 ] Manolis Kontalroma [ - Yeaddin Owls AFC - ]
------- M LC ( AGE: 18 CAPS: 0 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: )
A product of the Kiiara Academy, Manolis Kontalroma can play central or on the left side in a classic midfield role. After signing professionally with Jlinal Cove FC, Kontalroma joined the Yeaddin Owls during Vleague 26.

[ 29 ] Cristoh Nrubari [ - Cednia Beach AFC (TUR) - ]
------- M LC ( AGE: 20 CAPS: 0 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: )
Nrubari was a prospect out of the Kiiara Academy who signed his first professional contract with Mliona-Lpaka in Turori. After helping Mliona-Lpaka return to the Stellar Division for VLeague 28, Nrubari was snapped up by Cednia Beach AFC.

FORWARDS:

[ 43 ] Kristofer Kilpter [ - Cednia Beach AFC (TUR) - ]
------- F C ( AGE: 19 CAPS: 18 :: GOALS::SR: 5 U21: REG: )
Kilpter is joint Vilitan & Turori national, but declared to play for Vilita, with the lure of World Cup competition in Vilita's entry into World Cup 57 the key decision maker after the Turorian side was not entered. Kilpter netted 4 times during the World Cup 57 campaign but missed three matches due to an undisclosed injury. After struggling to win silverware with the Yeaddin Owls, Kilpter made the Largest Transfer in V-League history (12.7 kT) to Turorian side Cednia Beach. The transfer was more than double the 4.5kT previous transfer record in the Vilitan League, which was also payed by Cednia Beach to Yeaddin (for Antonis Siazzu).

[ 17 ] Viji-mara Lawaai [ - Strike FC - ]
------- F C ( AGE: 20 CAPS: 7 :: GOALS::SR: 2 U21: REG: )
Trained at the Strike Academy, Lawaai has excelled at shooting from long range, and making space on the edge of the penalty area with crafty turns, and may produce opportunities for free kicks if he wears down the opposition approaching the box. Lawaii made 8 substitute appearances during World Cup 57 qualifying, making his competitive debut against Krytenia, but failed to find the scoresheet.

[ 49 ] Xcnaio Bansoa [ - Arcticala Inlet - ]
------- F C ( AGE: 19 CAPS: 0 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: )
Bansoa was a training partner of Sirkii Moliaudo at the Coastal Academy, and many believed that Moliaudo's prowess in front of goal was due solely to his close partnership with Bansoa. After not being called to the line during World Cup 57 Qualifiers, Bansoa decided it was time for a change, breaking ties with Moliaudo and Marine Coast United, signing for Arcticala Inlet in the Stellar Division.

[ 15 ] Sirkii Moliaudo [ - Marine Coast United - ]
------- F C ( AGE: 19 CAPS: 18 :: GOALS::SR: 5 U21: REG: )
Moliaudo is a real force in front of goal, rarely missing from inside the penalty area. Many eyes were on Moliaudo during the World Cup Campaign, to see how he fared with a new partner in attack, having spent his entire development partnered with Xcnaio Bansoa at the Coastal Academy. Moliaudo mostly performed well netting 4 goals and having a strong rating, but still left some wondering if there was more talent to be mined from the Marine Coast youngster.

[ 43 ] Yves Gadois [ - Strike FC - ]
------- F C ( AGE: 15 CAPS: 0 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: )
Gadois became a hot topic in Vilita after rising to glory as the spearhead for Strike FC's Vleague 27 championship, with 8 league goals and an incredibly 6 goals in the Vilitan Cup. Gadois, a product of the Inland Academy, earned an invitation to the National Team Training camp for the first time in the build up to World Cup 58.

[ 44 ] Erocka Lorei [ - Makosile United - ]
------- F C ( AGE: 18 CAPS: 12 :: GOALS::SR: 8 U21: REG: )
The top attacking prospect at the Kiiara Academy, Erocka Lorei was expected to get quite a few chances to impress on the national stage during World Cup 57 Qualifying and did not dissapoint, leading the Vilitan team in goals scored with 5 in the competition despite only featuring in 11 out of 16 matches. Lorei claims to be a penalty kick specialist but has not been known for his aerial ability. Lorei signed professionally for Declasse side Liguon Valley during Season 26, but moved on to the Stellar Division during Season 27 with Makosile.

[ 48 ] Actalia Mermaioada [ - Surf Jettica - ]
------- F C ( AGE: 19 CAPS: 4 :: GOALS::SR: 1 U21: REG: )
Mermaioada was a prospect of the Strike Academy, who also excels at water sports, a fact that some pundits have argued hampers his development on the pitch. While not even featuring on the bench for early World Cup 57 qualifying matches, Mermaioada finally made his competitive debut as a half-time substitute against Ipeland and would feature as a sub for three consecutive matches before the return of Kilpter to the lineup. Mermaioada looked to have broken into the lineup during the Cup of Harmony, scoring in Vilita's 5-3 opening match victory. However, the decision to attempt a cross-channel swim on the bye day in the middle of the competition put Mermaioada out of favor with the coaching staff once again.

[ 43 ] Lita Adjei [ - Hojosan (TYZ) - LOAN - ]
------- F C ( AGE: 18 CAPS: 1 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: )
A product of the Turoki Academy, Adjei has sport in the blood, being a descendent of former Stellar Division top Forward award winner Ippolit Adjei. Adjei moved on a loan to newly promoted Hojosan in The Yorozura after WC57 quals as part of an investment deal with the clubs kit sponsors, VIlitan based Vilaye energy drink.

Please assume YES for all answers in the Permission Box – just don’t kill anyone, K?
Ages are at World Cup LVIII finals. Subtract two years for the first half of qualifying, one year for the second half.

Image
KRYTENIA 2166 WORLD CUP SQUAD
Modifier: +5 (+max if max is lower)

THE MANAGEMENT TEAM

Manager – Francisco VÁZQUEZ GARCÍA, 51
Vázquez García's fluid, attacking style of play has won him many admirers among the world's elite. He's pledged to win Krytenia their first World Cup before he retires, and with World Cup 57 bringing the Aces' first semi-final appearance in nearly a century, he's on the right track.

Assistant Manager – Patrick LYSAGHT, 53
Goalkeeping Coach – Anthony MILDENHALL, 55
Defensive Coach – Adam VIDMAR, 54
Offensive Coach – Damon PARKER, 54
Physiotherapist – Marcus ASIMOV, 65

THE SQUAD

Image
Alan KEYS
Age: 27
Position: Goalkeeper
Club: Mercia Bromham
Caps: TBC
Goals: 0

“The Man With The Golden Gloves”, Keys has been a revelation since his debut as a seventeen-year-old back in World Cup 56 qualifying. Tall and wiry, Keys has the ability to add his name to the goalkeeping greats, and be mentioned in the same breath as the likes of Munitis, Vernazza, Barcali, and Garcia.

Image
Leon SARTELLI
Age: 35
Position: Right midfield
Club: Gimnasia (KPZ)
Caps: TBC
Goals: TBC

The elder statesman of the Krytenian team, this World Cup will almost certainly be his last. Expected to drift out of the limelight when he first left for Kagdazka and Pazhujebu, he was a revelation at Juvapunam; the club were in decline, however, and a move to Gimnasia has injected Sartelli with a new lease of life. He may not quite have the pace to bomb down the right lie he used to, but he can take defenders on with his skill and wits, and crosses excellently.

Image
Derek AGOGO
Age: 28
Position: Left midfield
Club: Avidia United
Caps: TBC
Goals: TBC

A bit-part player in the last two World Cups, Agogo finally gets his chance after Calvin Thordarsson's retirement from international football. Blessed with phenomenal pace, Agogo looks to outrun rather than outplay his opponents, and is the most-fouled against player in the O-League for the simple reason that defenders end up tackling where he was rather than where he is.

Image
Travis WESTHUISEN (vice-captain)
Age: 27
Position: Centre-back/right-back
Club: Bradwell Saints
Caps: TBC
Goals: TBC

The big fish in a small pond at Abbey Road, Westhuisen in the very definition of the “cultured defender”. An excellent passer of the ball, he adapts well to playing out wide, and has on occasion been used as an emergency midfielder at club level. He is a little weak in the air though; expect him to be on the line defending corners.

Image
Peter SOUTHERN (captain)
Age: 28
Position: Centre-back
Club: Ousevale Borough
Caps: TBC
Goals: TBC

Captain of the champions, lord of all he surveys, and now captain of the national team. Southern may look atypical for a defender (6'6” and gangly) but don't let that fool you. He has almost mathematical precision in the tackle, and can pick out a thirty-yard pass with his eyes shut. (In fact, he literally did this for a recent JMC advert.)

Image
Colm Ó RIORDAN
Age: 31
Position: Left-back/centre-back
Club: AFC Linford
Caps: TBC
Goals: TBC

Many expected Ó Riordan to call it a day after World Cup 57. Born in Quinton, but of Sorthern parentage, the AFC defender was hit hard by the tragic events that unfolded whilst Krytenia played the men in red and gold. Distraught, he took six months out of the game, but has come back with a new focus and determination.

Image
VALRAUNCION
Age: Yes (he's an elf, you see)
Position: Forward
Club: Ousevale Borough
Caps: 0 (for Krytenia)
Goals: 0 (for Krytenia)

For those of you thinking that name looks familiar, it should. Valrauncion will be, once he makes his début, the only Krytenian international who can lay claim to a World Cup winners' medal. He's made a home for himself in Ousevale over the years, and when Starblaydia withdrew from international football at the end of World Cup 57, the KFA made a cheeky request to naturalise the striker and offer him a place in the cyan. To their astonishment, he accepted. As Paul Clayton said when he first signed him: “He may be a cock, but he's OUR cock!”

Image
Richard KERR
Age: 26
Position: Central midfield
Club: Royal Emberton
Caps: TBC
Goals: TBC

Stepping into the shoes of former national team captain Clive Richardson is no mean feat – but Kerr has the mental fortitude and deft touch to do so. He's been captain of his club since he was 21, and improves with each passing game. Reminiscent of Ricky Sexton in his pomp.

Image
Cameron DAVIS
Age: 32
Position: Forward
Club: Ousevale Borough
Caps: TBC
Goals: TBC

With Michael Anderson concentrating on his career at Royal Khaldoon, Davis is the new old hand of the Krytenian set-up. Likes to find the space from deep and run at defenders, or wait for a player to run off him. A true playmaker.

Image
Paul CARLISLE
Age: 29
Position: Forward
Club: East Kent Professional (CVC)
Caps: TBC
Goals: TBC

Completing the Ousevale Connection in the front three is Paul Carlisle. Brought through the Tigers' youth team, he found himself surplus to requirements at the Southern Arena when they purchased Cameron Davis from Starblaydi club Cedrus Soundgardia. Making a name for himself in the Citiz League, Carlisle has rebuilt his career from the ashes, and his clinical finishing has seen fit for him to be a regular starter for the national side.

Image
Chris PAMPESO
Age: 23
Position: Left midfield
Club: Kallia United
Caps: 0
Goals: 0

Mid-table strugglers they may be, but Kallia have a true diamond in the rough in the form of Chris Pampeso. A left-winger in name only, Pampeso loves to cut and drift inside, and is more likely to find space for a shot than a cross. It is, perhaps, this predeliction that prevents him from making the starting line-up...at least for the time being.

Image
George WILSON
Age: 19
Position: Central midfield
Club: Ousevale Borough
Caps: 0
Goals: 0

Having exploded onto the scene after an injury to Darren Radcliffe, Wilson has been a star in the making in his twenty or so league starts so far. A cultured, left-footed player, his passes are threaded like fine silk and his tackling is firm but controlled. Granted, though, he does look like he'd snap in half if the wind blows too hard, but that's nothing a few plates of bacon and eggs wouldn't fix.

Image
Casper NIXON
Age: 27
Position: Goalkeeper
Club: Emberton Reds
Caps: 0
Goals: 0

Rose to prominence with his valiant (and practically single-handed) attempts to keep Foxchester Rovers in the O-League Premier. Though he failed, he did catch the attentions of Reds manager Shane Gallo, who brought him to the Isserson for a cool AG5m. He'll be pushing Keys all the way for that coveted green jersey.

Image
Andrew JUSTICE
Age: 26
Position: Right midfield
Club: Leston Town
Caps: 0
Goals: 0

Leston might not be the most fashionable of places – let's face it, it's as dull as dishwater as twice as filthy – but Justice loves nothing better than haring down the right wing of the Lays Road Ground. Or somewhere else, if the Gears are playing away. With his long bleached hair, he looks every inch the playboy, but don't let that trick you; he's a single-minded master of his craft.

Image
Trevor MILK
Age: 28
Position: Centre-back/left-back/right-back
Club: New Cefn Albion
Caps: TBC
Goals: TBC

Though perhaps not the most talented of Krytenia's defenders, he is the most versatile. Can play anywhere along the back line, and has the effort and stamina of a locomotive. Unfortunately, his first touch has been known to let him down on occasion, and it is this occasional lack of control that has precluded him from nailing down a permanent place in the side.

Image
Ian PESKOV
Age: 25
Position: Central midfield
Club: Beckton Supermarine
Caps: 0
Goals: 0

There's one simple reason why the Mariners are back in the big time: Ian Peskov. Though he usually plays in the centre of the park, he's effectively the anchor man between midfield and attack, pushing forward to support the strikers. Beckton's captain and talisman, the shouts of “Peskov For The Aces” from the Orange Street faithful seem to have been answered.

Image
Eric TYLER
Age: 26
Position: Forward/left midfield
Club: Cednia Beach AFC (TUR)
Caps: TBC
Goals: TBC

At home on the left and in the middle, Tyler is another whose big advantage is his versatility. It was that adaptability that saw the big money calling him, and Tyler made the hop west from Caledon Simpson to V-League giants Cednia Beach. Expect club honours to come from this man; possibly a fair few caps, too, if things go his way.

Image
Aaron QUITERI
Age: 26
Position: Forward
Club: Avidia United
Caps: TBC
Goals: TBC

Last season's second top-scorer in the O-League; only Valrauncion got more. Quiteri is a dead-ball specialist and excellent striker of the ball; he can be a little greedy, however, which has seen more than one onfield argument with Avidia strike partner José Cristobal. Give him the ball, and he will have a pop – and more often than not, he'll find the net.

Image
Tim STANSFIELD
Age: 23
Position: Centre-back
Club: Avidia United
Caps: 0
Goals: 0

The rock of the Eagles' defence, Stansfield is power personified. The athletic defender has a great leap and excellent pace, making him a tricky prospect for any forward to deal with. He is somewhat hot-tempered though, collecting six red cards in his career so far.

Image
Alistair CELSEN
Age: 24
Position: Centre-back
Club: Casuals Osteria
Caps: TBC
Goals: TBC

Learned at the feet of former Krytenian international Scott Karrah at Casuals, Celsen played alongside him in the last World Cup squad. Ambitious and single-minded, Celsen's one drawback is that he is prone to lapses in concentration, however these have lessened lately as he has focused on taking a spot in the Aces' first eleven.

Image
Simon CHOI
Age: 29
Position: Central midfield
Club: Mercia Bromham
Caps: 0
Goals: 0

The Mercian engine-room, Choi loves to find himself in the middle of everything. Will support attack and defence when needed, but is often too eager to follow the ball and can find himself out of position. A solid tackler, and a good ball-winner, you'll usually find him no more than five yards from the ball for a good 80% of any given game.

Image
Steve MANLEY
Age: 19
Position: Goalkeeper
Club: Ashton Olympic
Caps: 0
Goals: 0

The new kid on the goalkeeping block, Manley came out of nowhere to burst through not only the Ashton starting eleven, but the peripheries of the national team too. Will relish training with the lads in between helping the Maroons through their first-ever top flight season.

Image
Dexter SCHWARZKOPF
Age: 24
Position: Forward
Club: AFC Linford
Caps: 0
Goals: 0

What Ó Riordan has been at the back, so Schwarzkopf has at the front. Linford may not be blessed with Cygnus cash any more, but they do have talent, and an excellent youth system. Young Dex is used to playing up front as a lone striker, usually with someone dropping off him, so playing in a three-man attack will be a new experience – but that won't stop him, as he has his heart set on Valrauncion's number seven jersey.

LIKELY STARTERS
Keys
Westhuisen – Southern – Ó Riordan
Sartelli – – Kerr – – Wilson – – Agogo
Davis – Valrauncion – Carlisle

PAP's World Cup 58 Roster

Formation: 4-2-1-3
Coach: Francisco Gonzalez (age 43)
Captain: Alberto Fierro
Free Kick Taker: Emilio Zamora
Penalty Taker: Alberto Fierro
Right Corner: Alexander Rivera
Left Corner: Alexander Rivera
Nickname: Black and Whites
STYLE MOD: +2.75
Rank: 49th
Honors: Cup of Harmony 47 champions

------------------Fox-Carlota------------------

-----Harris-----Martinez-----Young-----Rivera-----

------Calles-------------Zamora------

--------Suarez--------

-----Juarez-----Fierro-----Lopez-----

Kits:
Image

Home Stadium:
Image
Name: Stade de l'invincibilité (English: Stadium of Invincibility)
Capacity: 105,000

GK:
1- Lawrence Fox-Carlota (23 years old)- As a young boy, he focused on gymnastics and acrobatics, but around the age of 13, he began to focus on football, specifically goalkeeping. Although he is flexible and has great flexes, he is known to poorly command his box at times.
2- James Garcia (19 years old)- He shows a lot of potential, although he is still pretty shaky. He's shown a promising amount of skill in 1v1s, but is very prone to low shots, with many going right through his legs.

Defense:
7- Terry Harris (22 years old)- One of the shortest members of the team, although some say it's a plus. As it has become a custom for PAP fullbacks to be the fastest players on the team, Harris is no exception to that. Clocking in at a stunning 10.69 secs in the 100m run, he has the speed, but lacks the concentration and constantly allows his opponent space.
6- Victor Martinez (20 years old)- Martinez was a major league baseball prospect in PAP, and was in fact drafted for a major league team, until Gonzalez's coaxing was enough to get him to come along. He's 6' 4" and somehow very stealthy. Handballs are a huge issue for him.
4- Norman Young (19 years old)- From the Northern countryside, he grew up on a farm, running miles every day for conditioning, and managed to catch Gonzalez's eye when Young's high school team reached the National Finals. His speed is a great plus, but his lack of concentration and crumbling under pressure bring him down at times.
3- Alexander Rivera (21 years old)- Looks up to Rafael Herrera, and hopes to be better than him. Fast, but careless, so he might slip or trip. Great heading ability ability, although he tends to be a bit physical in the box.

Substitutes-
15- Manuel Avila (20 years old)
8- Martin Camacho (19 years old)

Midfield:
12- Elias Calles (23 years old)- One of the older and more loud players. He consistently tries to command the team around, hence his nickname "The Puppeteer of the Midfield", although Fierro usually calms him down, orders from Calles and Fierro can confuse the team at times. His determination and accurate passing are pluses, but his bossiness and short temper allow for the team to collectively confuse themselves.
10- Emilio Zamora (22 years old)- A rock solid member of the PAP defense, he consistently stays back and defends. He is overall an "average" player, but can go on long runs at times, without fatigue.
14- Lazaro Suarez (21 years old)- Suarez has an eye for goal, but a better one for passes. Although he tends to be a more conservative than his predecessor Figo, Gonzalez claims to see a similarity between the two, and is determined to develop him further. His passing, skill and intelligence are pluses, while his conservative attitude sometimes slows down the PAP offense.

Substitutes:
11- Andres Manuel Lopez-Bermudez (21 years old)
16- Alfonso Espericueta (16 years old)

Fowards:
9- Alberto Fierro (22 years old)- Returning once again, and the only "veteran" on the team. He's an exceptional goal scorer, usually being at the right place at the right time. His skill and goalscoring is matched only by his selfishness at times, preferring a fancy finish by his part or an attempt at goal from 30 meters out instead of a pass to an open teammate. Gonzalez giving the captaincy to Fierro caused a lot of controversy, with many claiming that the last time a striker (Gonzalez) was made captain, PAP did terribly, while other cite his lack of leadership skills. Regardless, Fierro is a force to be reckoned with at offense, and has managed to pull the team into the right direction.
21- Maximiliano Juarez (20 years old)- Incredible crossing and a general "all in" attitude make him a fan favorite. His attitude can be troubling at times though, as his determination to win sometimes earns him a card or two.
24- Vicente Lopez (21 years old)- Another native from the Northern countryside. Lopez and Young attended the same high school, and were both part of the championship winning team that year. Lopez is better at long distance attempts than Fierro, but can also complete a pass or two. At 21, he's still developing but the talent is there. Tends to pass prematurely, giving up possession at times.

Substitutes:
17- Luis Noreiga (21 year old)
5- Diego Molina (18 years old)

Spotlight On… Seunem A perhaps slightly surprising second qualifying campaign from the Prancing Cart Horses, following the Baptism of Fire 44 finalists’ Harmony no-show.

As far as can be told, the Seunemi ‘national team’ – such as it is – continues to draw a squad entirely from the secretive island state’s sizable diaspora, with the country itself seemingly lacking a domestic competition sufficient to provide even a single footballer of international worth and, more to the point, even a stadium deemed capable of holding qualifying matches.

Now think again on that last point again, with some of the dumps that have been host to WCC sanctioned international football before now in mind. Aye. Questions surely now have to be asked as to whether Seunem should even be taking part at this level, despite the team’s somewhat irritating competitiveness, but who exactly will be answering them? No national football association appears in evidence, with veteran head coach Thomas Merrytent and Paschal the only vocal slice of officialdom, and frankly if you can understand half of what he comes out with you’re a better man, woman or genderqueer than I.

The element of surprise may have degraded considerably now, but a motely squad home to one or two players with UICA and even World Cup finals experience should fancy their chances against some of Group 13’s lesser lights and will frustrate others with a patient passing game that, in a modern era favouring all-out attack, can only be described as a throwback – and, for some of the tactical purists out there, not a wholly unwelcome one at that. In rising slightly fewer than a hundred KPB places despite the lack of a CoH outing, Seunem conceded just twelve qualifying goals – with only fellow Rushmoris Southern Cynocephali and the late, great Starblaydia doing better of those sides that failed to top their groups. Expect an otherwise bog-standard 4-4-2 however, though other formations are certainly possible.

Others, of course, would describe them as desperately dull – and particularly so when playing in half-empty stadia in front of generally disinterested rent-a-crowds; in their spectacularly miserable grey away kits; and following the fourteen verse dirge that is their tuneless national anthem (or so they say… who’s to know, frankly?), Child A-Born in Seunemi Sands. Ironically, of course, almost none of this squad actually were.

As a final point, fact fans, they wear their given names on the backs of their shirts. We don’t know why. We don’t care, if we’re being particularly honest. Life’s too short.

And now, because you didn’t so much demand it as affect an air of utter indifference, we present a trawl through this year’s twenty-three. Which may prove curiously familiar to those who picked up the last pre-qualifying edition of this publication. What can we say? What with the… with the… flood, and everything, we just haven’t had the LOOK, A SQUIRREL!

Management…

Little is known of head coach Thomas Merrytent and Paschal, save for his lengthy and oft impenetrable pre-match press conferences. On match days, Mister Thomas leaves much of the touchline shouting to his equally voluble assistant Maxim Frunzorşa, though those ill-fated souls who had been charged with following Seunem’s displays thus far suggest that, beyond team selection, much of the actual coaching may be the department of Kyle Taubmann, a salt-of-the-earth Candelariasian goalkeeping coach, and former retired centre-half turned centre-half turned retired centre-half Bogoslav Toysoldier, off of Mytannion. The Tubster’s countryman Julian Kelly, the team physio, rounds off the ickle bitty technical staff.

Squad…

Statistics as of WC57 Qualifying

Goalkeepers:

1. Eirik Passante-Smallbone, Aged 24, Okhotsk Kholmsk Town FC [Polar Islandstates], 24 caps
Hailing from the Polarian state of Sakhalin, the child of Seunemi refugees (supposedly fleeing religious persecution in the land he now represents, though as with most of this squad we have only the testimony of the players themselves to rely on) has found a career (after a fashion) as a fourth division goalkeeper. When he’s not making serviceable, if unnecessarily energetic, saves he enjoyed clubbing baby seals to death and not getting his spirit necklaces, bone bangles, et al, caught in the netting.

13. Roberto Miguel Pavón Milpond, 34, Loco Loco [Sargossa], 3 caps
Even other Sargossans consider the denizens of Isla Tonto and the town of Loco to be a wee bit odd, which may go some way to explaining not only why an island the size of a ham sandwich not only has its own railway network, but why the workers of said railway network have an entire football club all to themselves. Roberto is largely typical of the island of his birth, though at least he has a whole mitochondrial DNA haplogroup to himself (why his Seunemi mother ended up in Loco as a youth is unclear. Perhaps she’s got a thing about trains) and an even number of fingers. When he’s not being a substitute goalkeeper, Roberto enjoys pretending he can’t speak English and getting the team’s nickname wrong.

23. Kiena Sixpence, 23, Liberty Belles [Delamawaria], 1 cap (as sub)
As the third-choice goalkeeper this large, quiet girl from the Delamawarian second division (and you all know everything there is to know about Delemawaria now, right?) is really here just to make up the numbers. And when she’s not making up the numbers (she suggests tweven, brinteen and parnchillion), Kiena enjoys ogling Egyptian gods and making daisy chains.

Defenders:

12. Sten Smackfish and Stuffcoat, 24, DR, SC Filwarfin [Pasarga], 25 caps
Oh, little Sten? Of the Pasargian Smackffishes and Stuffcoatses? Yes, the very same. He’s a right-back, at a midtable club in everyone’s favourite implausibly falciform Rushmori nation, and he’s alright, really. Can’t hold his drink, lacks a distinct personality (and thank God for that), gets a nosebleed at the very suggestion of crossing the half-way line. He’ll do.

6. Cayolle Customers, 25, DC, Clotariens [Ancharmunn]
One of the few newcomers to the squad, though certainly not to the international scene, for the eldest of the Customers clan – raised in Little Clotaire before making waves at the late, great Sorthern club Beningrad – was present in wherever the last World Cup was hosted, it’s temporarily skipped our mindsacks, as a benchwarmer for the Sorthern Northland national team as they biddeded to retain their title. The fact that she made Iarlaith Mag Aonghusa’s squad probably saved not only her life but those of the rest of her family as well, and she’ll be out to make damn sure nothing untoward happens to the much travelled Customers clan ever again.

19. Austin Vane and Woodknock, 24, DC, 1976 Nanticoke [Chesapeake Bay], 26 caps
Quite the most enthusiastic singer of the national anthem, though seldom in the same style as his team-mates (at last look he’s favouring punk), he’s quite good at marking and… other things… defenders do. Ooh, he can jump as well, yes, well remembered. Very handy man to have at the back post when defending free kicks. Following Bogoslav Toysoldier’s second retirement however, he’ll have to establish a partnership with Customers 1 rather sharpish.

21. Lowis Samder and Tumblers, 27, DL/ML, SC Avenion [Chenkorya], 24 caps (3 as sub)
The mercifully taciturn, left-footed, Lowis is the elder of two siblings who turned up out of the ether at SC Avenion down in Chenkorya a few months back. From where they came, we do not know. Where they learnt their football, we cannot guess. We could ask them, I suppose, but we can’t really be arsed. On-field; communication and teamwork are unsurprisingly not his strong suit, but he possesses fine spatial awareness, presumably from a young life spent dodging the feral waterfowl and drugged-up nomads that stalk the grey expanses of south-eastern Rushmore.

2. Jerem Samder and Tumblers, 19, DR/L, SC Avenion [Chenkorya], 12 caps (10 as sub)
Likely to remain a perennial benchwarmer for now, the youngest defender on the list has more to say than his brother, though the inseparable pair appear to have developed their own language over the years so most of its indecipherable. Versatile and quick, his technique evidently needs a huge amount of work.

5. Viktor Ribak, 24, DC/DM, Providence [Mytannion], 9 caps (4 as sub)
On Tuesday, he gut fish. On Wednesday, he gut fish. On Thursday, he ask Mr Mrozinsky what he want doing, knowing full well that this shall involve the gutting of fish. On Friday, or whenever, but Friday seems to be rather in, these days, he play international football. On Saturday, he play amateur football, and maybe gut fish a little during the occasional lull in proceedings. On Sunday, he do work for Big Darko and say nothing if he is knowing what is good for him. We do not know what he do on Monday. Elocution lessons, possibly.

3. Amy Goscard-Magdalen, 25, DL, Unattached [Candelaria And Marquez],1 4 caps (8 as sub)
This is Amy. She’s a left-back. She’s not very good and looks a great deal like a horse, but then the same can be said about most of the rest of her team-mates. A very equine bunch, your Seunemis. Having spent most of what shall charitably be referred to as her career in the Candelariasian semi-professional divisions, she had barely played a proper game of football for the best part of a year before receiving a Cart Horses call-up. She can’t run to save her life, not even if there was like a crocodile after her or anything, although people can actually run faster than crocodiles so you don’t even need to run in zig-zags, but she can spot a pass both long and short. She won’t play much, we don’t think, although she may still get talked about quite a bit. We don’t know why. Best not to dwell on such things.

Midfielders:

7. Tutain Germain and Bohan, 21, MR, Thessia FC [Mytannion], 23 caps (1 as sub), 1 goal
For a native-born Thessian, Toots here appears to be relatively well-to-do with well-connected Seunemi merchants for parents, neither of whom, by all accounts, are especially chuffed to discover that their boy – a combative winger who’s barely broken into the 2. Takillega side’s first team – has pulled on national team colours. Having been booted out, he now lives with the Sadowsky clan on the rough nineteen twentieths of town, which might toughen him up a tad. Or kill him. One of the two.

4. Tuu Dufu, 28, DM, Ranford & Willsbrook [The Kytler Peninsulae], 21 caps (1 as sub)
Talking of combative… You know when they say “He’s not that sort of lad”? Tuu Dufu is that sort of lad. He’ll cheerfully quote Nietzsche or Ghandi at you, then hack your leg off at the knee. Last we looked, he was a Seunemi called Thome Devero. He’s now a drug-running Kytlerian aborigine who nobody can quite summon up the courage to ask what he’s doing here. Who knows what he’ll be tomorrow? In prison, if there’s any justice.

16. Costin Kennedy and Snade, 31, DM/DC, FK Mortingham [Virabia], 22 caps (3 as sub)
Pretty much your squad standard, really. A Seunemi dad who doesn’t talk about it much, born and raised in a reasonably decent footballing country, and here mostly for the simple joy of playing international football. Will probably play even deeper than Tuu most of the time, if such a thing is even possible, and spend the ninety minutes practising his rabbit-in-the-headlights impression. For reasons we can’t begin to fathom, he has pretty much identical speech patterns to most of his team-mates, except with the occasional merkinism and added coughing.

20. Juri Sadowsky, 20, ML/MR/FW, Zenit Toranj FC [Mytannion], 14 caps (12 as sub), 1 goal
Another youngster, though it’s hard to look at Juri and allow the word ‘youngster’ to formulate in one’s head. ‘Youth’ might be more appropriate. Trouble in trousers, and probably without them an’ all, Juri bears the scars of a hundred street battles. And an ear stud. The pacey wide man made some useful interventions during the last round of qualifying, and this park player – one of numerous rather uncouth Seunemi migrants to Mytannion to have taken the Sadowsky name for reasons best known to themselves – appears to have secured a first team place this time around, albeit on his less favoured left flank.

11. Henk de Vries, 20, ML, Eye of Tenderville [Nethertopia]
Neth… Nether…? Netter, Net…? Nope, no idea. But from wherever it is cometh, here is a new left-footed player to challenge Sadowsky. The amateur De Vries’ Seunemi credentials are possibly the most gloriously deficient of the entire bunch while at the same time he can claim to be one of the few (only?) Seunem-born players in the squad, his parents being cultural anthologists now at the University of Tenderville but formerly based in… in a… place in… Seunem. They do have places, don’t they?

17. Saoirse Sunshine, 21, MR/CM, Sporting Nothandryun [Inis na Dún], 8 caps (3 as sub)
What’s the story in Temorry? Wouldn’t you like to know? We certainly would, we refuse to believe that that many ethnics all on one remote island belonging to another remote island can’t be up to something. They’re probably digging tunnels and getting money up under good, honest, slightly creepy, three-quarters indigenous folk like Miss Sunshine, a very pleasant girl with specialist movie pigtails and a slightly off-putting habit of talking, and occasionally singing, to herself in the middle of matches. Off-field she spends her time carrying out little errands, even if the people in question haven’t actually lost a rabbit in the first place or don’t actually want their fridge-freezers returned to them after they clumsily left them by the side of the road. Still, she can spray the ball around rather well and stuff, even at her lowly level.

8. Andrion Customers, 22, AM, Clotariens [Ancharmunn], 15 caps (4 as sub), 1 goal
Saoirse’s roommate (there’s no funny business, mind you, it’s just that a lad who grows up sharing a bedhovel with umpteen sisters has certain special sleeping requirements, bless him) could well replace Costin for those games where the management deigns to experiment with a formation not involving two holding midfielders. He is possessed of fine vision and runs about gamely enough, but he’s a sweet soul who struggles to impose himself in the tackle, and having gone from a benchwarmer at St. Patrick’s to Samson’s sofa to a whole new country over the break may have proven a little jolting.

18. Jan Asdom, 26, AM/MR, Ashdom City [Nethertopia]
With Ezechias the cargo cult footballer from the Branta Aboriginal Protectorates apparently back home helping with the marmite harvest this cycle, his place is taken by another Nethertopian amateur, and one who we assume to be another granny-ruler. According to our, um, scouts, he’s a little on the slow and plump side but can deliver a decent cross and appears a bit of a bruiser. When he’s not knocking effete left-backs off the ball, Jan enjoys playing Scrabble and picking flowers in the dappled light of the ancient forest of the Old Duchy with his best friend Urrshu’lurra.

22. Colecta Customers, 16, DM/AM, Clotariens [Ancharmunn]
The fourth of seven little Customers (all but Andrion being girls, although the jury’s still out on that one too), poor Colecta has experienced much hardship throughout her young life and now finds herself a refugee in yet another foreign land, representing a country of which she knows only stories whilst juggling schoolwork and training at what may charitably be described as Clotariens’ Academy. She has won praise for her height, determination and pace, but needs to work on her pace and pace. #mustmakeabetterplayergenerator

Forwards:

9. Diego Fernández, 26, FW, Puerto Cabezas SC [Sargossa], 25 caps (3 as sub), 3 goals
Oh, he’s quick. He’s proper quick. Like, potential-Sargossan-Olympic-athlete quick. For all we know, he might even have attended the last one, under somebody else’s name. We’d ask him but, and we can’t really work this one out, shouting loudly at him in English during press conferences doesn’t appear to help much. Never mind. He’ll win an arse load of penalties, no doubt, though there’s little chance of him being so bold as to actually take them himself. In real life, he’s a stevedore. But apparently not one of the big muscly one, alas.

15. Samson Patris and Bavent, 29, FW, [C], Albrecht Turkish [Candelaria And Marquez], 26 caps, 16 goals
Quite a lot has already been written about Samson. An unnecessary amount, one might even suggest. But the Chesapeake Bay born, C&M raised, Seunemi parentaged forward remains utterly vital to the country’s limited hopes, as the difference between the Cart Horses scoring and, well, not. Basically. Very fine indeed from the dead ball, full of tricks but well tempered by age; in a different timeline he would quite possibly have belatedly graduated to the once feared blue and green of the land of his upbringing. Without him, Seunem are screwed. With him… they’re also screwed, but slightly slower and with more puffing.

10. George Gjorgjinski, 16, FW, AFC MN Smith [Candelaria And Marquez], 12 caps (10 as sub), 1 goal
Just a matter of months ago, young Georgey-lad was cobbling down the tight terraced streets of the industrial city of Bove, expertly controlling the ball at his feet in between verses of There’s Only EEEEEIIGHTTT Danny Adamses!, and dreaming of following a procession of local heroes into club colours, and thence to Albrecht Turkish, and thence into a C&M jersey. Times have changed and, thanks to Nanna Mariota, this small, painfully shy but technically gifted youngster has been promoted to international honours far before his time. The acne-encrusted teen won’t scare anyone yet, unless he happens to look at them, but he remains a vaguely secret weapon primed for unleashing. He’s also Jewish apparently, if that helps at all.

14. Freskin Mobec and Aune, 32, FW, Oast Orient [The Isle of Dreyher], 10 caps (6 as sub), 2 goals
He’s fat, he’s round, he ain’t even worth a pound, Fred Muintir Lideadha, Fred Muintir Lideadhaaa! On the tiny, remote island of Dreyher, famed for being the home of the worlds’ smallest football league, good ol’ Fred keeps himself to himself, and plays for whichever of the rock’s two teams is prepared to pay him the most in pickles. Little do they know that this bulky forward is not a Sorthern mainlander at all, but a Seunemi of noble blood and birth, cast out from the land of this birth because… because… uhm… We’ll get back to you.

Stadiums and Schedule… And then cometh we to a but, and lo, be it not a but of epic proportions?

Seunem have no home stadium. From what little we know, Seunem may not even have a single football pitch. But charity is not dead, and Thomas Merrytent and Paschal appears to possess considerable powers of persuasion, or maybe they all simple caved in and gave him what he wanted in a desperate attempt to stop him talking.

Never mind, either way. ROAAADDD TRIIIIPPP!!!

By far the biggest crowds will be expected for the games in Albrecht, in a country starved of top-level football over recent times and who have rather taken the Cart Horses to heart – though don’t expect anything more than a few thousand to turn up and spatter themselves around the vast, echoing stadiums.

Rimben Park, on the other hand, is a crumbling edifice squished right in the middle of a relatively pleasant part of Thessia with standing behind the two goals and a crane-infested east stand that has all the structural integrity of a box of tissues. Should the Seunemi ‘community’ (and we use the term extremely loosely here) in Mytannion turn out for a second time then this matches could prove a campaign highlight, for elsewhere Seunem will largely have to rely on the good will of the locals, and the prospect of seeing club heroes take part in a genuine, bona fide, international match. Free ticketing may help matters, but the Prancing Cart Horses could still face what may effectively amount to eighteen away fixtures.

Following last cycle’s disastrous encounter with Kernansquillec in Avenion where, following a match of truly dire proportions, many locals demanded their money back despite not having actually paid for their tickets in the first place; the Seunemi FA (???) can hardly expect a great turn-out here either, but will look with hope towards the islands of Loco (way to the west of Sargossa) and Dreyher (now effectively autonomous following the recent horrors on the Sorthern mainland, though the remote locals may well have not yet quite realised that, as far as we know) to bring a little excitement to these international backwaters. Waterside Grove, meanwhile, the home of buoyant Kytlerian side Ranford & Willsbrook and located in the flamboyant little seaside town of Ranford (and a couple of miles’ cycle from the even smaller town of Willsbrook, Actually), may well have finished a planned expansion to fifteen thousand seats by the time Seunem turn up. They won’t need ‘em.

PAYS DE HORREUR WC58 ROSTER

It started with the uncontrollable itching and was followed by the convulsions, then the rapid onset of hair loss, followed by the vomiting and expulsion of blood from every conceivable orifice and finally, the victim passed away.

And for 48 hours that was it, they had ceased to be.

Until the dead started rising with their relentless need to feed. Countless thousands lost their lives in the first few days and those who avoided being struck down by the illness or caught in the clutches of the living dead holed up where they could. Armed to the teeth and with their cupboards stocked with canned goods and dried foods this is how the survivors would wait to be rescued by their international peers.

Except that could take a while. All international travel too and from Pays de Horreur had been suspended. The airports locked tight and ports closed down. The international borders sealed to prevent the disease spreading across the continent, and as such, the country’s world cup qualifying campaign thrown into disarray. With the players grounded in Pays de Horreur and their last whereabouts unknown and visitors unable to enter the country the campaign seemed to be grinding to a halt, until eccentric millionaire and Pays de Horreur national lottery winner Bernard Traverse stepped in to ensure the survival of the Pays de Horreur national team. Calling together a band of 23 ex-pat civilians and foreigners with Pays de Horreur lineage the Palacios and Rodallega inhabitant guaranteed that, despite the tragedy that had befallen Pays de Horreur, they would not concede their dream of returning to the World Cup easily.

New Look Squad (I say new look, it's the same as midway through the previous cup.. but yeah)

01. GKP. Philbert Perrot. Philbert’s great grandmother was from Pays de Horreur and was once the mistress of a supreme court judge.
02. RB. Serge Fournier: Fournier is ex-Pays de Horreur special forces. After 20 years service he retired to live in Lua Vamoa.
03. LB. Ghislain Patenaud:. Half Horreurnican, half Dansak the web designer living in Dansak Minor also plays Sunday league football and enjoys dominoes.
04. CB. Barthelemy Foss: The professor of astrology was a guest speaker at Ridgemont University when the outbreak occurred. Relived he didn’t go home sooner.
05. CB. Kevin Deniaud: This long distance haulage driver was delivering a load of pashminas to Cotdelapoms when the outbreak occurred. He goes for days with minimal sleep and doesn’t communicate well.
06. DM. Achille Solomon: The Horreurnican ambassador posted in West Zirconia was shocked to hear of the horror befouling his home land and was only too happy to get involved in the national team.
07. RM. Felicien Sergeant: From the glittering bright lights of the Pocoan adult film scene comes Felicien. Sadly he’s as bad at football as he is as good at fornicating.
08. LM. Aldric Fay: The team doctor for Vamoan club Isambard Celtic, the medic knows one or two things about football injuries, but whether he can play is another thing.
09. CF. Adrien Blanchett: The travelling salesman has the gift of the gab when it comes to selling oil drilling components to foreign markets. Fingers crossed his legs are as quick as his mouth and he can notch a few goals.
10. CF. Leonide Giroux: Potentially the most famous man in Pays de Horreur, the country’s Prime Minister was whisked underground when the outbreak began then ferried out of the country in a private jet as the nation collapsed, he hopes to continue running the country while safely out of the way.
11. AM. Geraud Dupond: Is Kevin Deniaud’s driver’s mate and was with the makeshift centreback delivering pashminas when the dead began to rise.

The others:
Laurent Bissette, Theirn Augustin, Marcel St. Pierre, Guy Pierre, Patrick Lebeau, Herve Germain, Jocelyn Chevrolet, Hubert Felix, Yannic Faverau, Gilbert Desjardins, Samuel Romilly, Albert Labelle.
- The remaining 12 haven’t been assigned positions and will play when called upon.

Due to the team not being able to return to Pays de Horreur and outside visitors not being allowed access, the bodged Pays de Horreur side will now play all their games at the 9,500 seater Peter Francis stadium in Cape Jaune, Palacios and Rodallega.

The West Zirconian Word Cup qualifying squad has been announced. Manager Chris Irwin has named a largely unchanged squad, but for several of the team, this will be the last time. Ed French, Paul Paterson and Lewis Fox have announced their retirement after this competition, as has captain, talisman, Hall of Fame candidate and reluctant gay icon Ben Phillips. Rumour has it that he is being lined up for a job "upstairs" (nudge, nudge) after he hangs up his boots, and it would be interesting to see how he fits in.

The squad is as follows:

GK Tom Lyons (Bradley Hornets)
DL Ben Phillips (c) (Mort Park)
DC Andy Turner (Banks)
DC Jon Little (Bradley Hornets)
DR Paul Paterson (Mort Park)
MC Dean Thompson (Banks)
MC Ed French (Taylor's Cross)
MC Paul Collins (Stanley United)
FW Tom Weston (Houghton Kestrels)
FW Alun Lydiate (Mort Park)
FW Steve Allerton (Mort Park)

Substitutes:

Goalkeepers:
Steve Gray (St. Martin Athletic)
Steve Doolan (Markham)

Defenders:
Lewis Fox (Mort Park)
Chris Lyons (Stanley United)
Adam Cooper (Taylor's Cross)

Midfielders:
Ian Hawthorne (Etruria)
Jon Buckley (Markham)
Adrian Skinner (Markham)

Forwards:
Martin Forster (Bradley Swifts)
David Thomas (Bradley Hornets)
Liam Vernon (Banks)

CASCRATIA SQUAD FOR THE 58TH WORLD CUP

HEAD COACH: Glevin Vawdrey
Glevin Vawdrey is the current head coach of Knoxcrest, the Cascratian champion. He can be proud of his 2-years career in football management so far, a Cascratian league champion trophy and a good showing in the 45th Baptism of Fire. Glevin prefer to play in 4-5-1.

GOALKEEPER:
1. Chameli Leventhorp, 27, Corinor, Goalkeeper

Corinor concedes the least goal in the Cascratian First Division and it is safe to say that Chameli Leventhorp is the best goalkeeper in Cascratia. Actually, NO. Chameli Leventhorp benefits from a very solid backline and a very defensive minded coach. Most of the goals conceded by Corinor is because of Chameli’s lack of focus. His selection in the national team might be helped by the number of goals (or the lack of) he conceded with Corinor but Glevin Vawdrey might be making a mistake here.

13. Boroi Verney, 25, Montaire, Goalkeeper

DEFENDER:
2. Pachelle Manston, 24, Knoxcrest, Right Back
Pachelle Manston is an athletic player, capable of lung-busting runs back and forth the right channel. His versatility is also a major bonus, with Pachelle able to play anywhere along the back four. He is tall, at 6' 3'', meaning he is also an aerial presence on defensive and attacking set-pieces.

3. Ruelada Funteyn, 20, Corinor, Left Back
The combative Ruelada Funteyn is in his element bursting forward, is brilliant at executing a quick one-two, crosses a good ball and is extremely dangerous from direct free-kicks. The defensive side of his game is questionable and he has a tendency to take pot-shots.

4. Cretrix Beauchamp, 19, Corinor, Central Defender
Despite being only 19, Cretrix Beauchamp has proved that he can be the leader of the back 4. Led the backline of Corinor that conceded the least goals in Cascratian First Division. Height is obviously a key attribute and his aerial ability matches his frame. A decent ball player, he also has strength in abundance.

5. Ralea Grey, 28, Arcova, Central Defender
Ralea Grey is the captain of Arcova. He led the team to finish as runner up in the first edition of Cascratian First Division. Physically imposing at 6' 3'' and dominant in the air. He is strong in the tackle and has the ability to out-muscle most strikers he marks.

15. Brolina Coke, 31, Montaire, Right Back
16. Vynava Elyot, 29, Arcova, Central Defender

MIDFIELDER:
6. Zyskar Sparrow, 22, Arcova, Right Midfielder
Zyskar Sparrow has made a name for himself in the Cascratian First Division as an excellent crosser who scores his fair share of goals, and is seen as one of the best Cascratian midfielders around. A versatile player who is happy on either wing, Zyskar's crossing is excellent and he uses his pace and skill well down the flanks.

11. Glorini Carsten, 27, Carlayne, Left Midfielder
An incredibly quick player, Glorini Carsten offers something different in attack and his ability to beat his man has elevated him beyond his rivals. One of the fastest players in the Cascratian First Division, Glorini's game is based on pace. He has excellent skill on the ball and a keen eye for a pass but his final ball is not always on the spot.

7. Rokonara Aylmer, 18, Knoxcrest, Central Midfielder
Rokonara is one of the three Aylmer brother in the national team. He is also the older twin brother of Rolinara. Together with Rolinara, they are the youngest players in the squad. Rokonara is a defensive midfielder who can also slot in at centre-back. He is tipped to be in the starting eleven despite his young age and has been tipped for the top. Good positioning and tackling skills make him an excellent defensive midfielder and he is strong enough and versatile enough to slot into defence as well.

8. Rolinara Aylmer, 18, Knoxcrest, Central Midfielder
Rolinara is one of the three Aylmer brother in the national team. He is also the younger twin brother of Rokonara. Together with Rokanara, they are the youngest players in the squad. Seen as one of the most promising young players in the Cascratian game. His distribution is excellent, reads the game well and has an eye for goal but lacking in pace.

10. Feelalnee Underhill, 29, Veyracova, Attacking Midfielder (CAPTAIN)
An attacking midfielder with an eye for goal and great vision, Feelalnee Underhill is very instrumental is Veyracova bid for promotion from Cascratia Second Division. Tricky and intelligent, he is an excellent dribbler and possesses great technique. He is hot-headed but lacks the physical strength to back it up. Feelalnee can be prone to theatrics.

12. Oindri Dunham, 26, Arcova, Central Midfielder
14. Hammar Holtz, 32, Elkopolis, Right Midfielder
18. Bettandra Mayne, 20, Ceylitona, Left Midfielder

FORWARD:
9. Nianara Aylmer, 20, Knoxcrest, Striker
Nianara is one of the three Aylmer brothers in the national team. He is viewed as one of Cascratia’s top strikers despite being only 20 years old. Made a name for himself at his debut season with Knoxcrest and won himself the Cascratia Golden Boot for being the league top scorer. Nianara is very skilfull and attack minded, he can make all the difference for his team when he has the ball but he can lose focus easily and his concentration levels are very poor. He doesn’t bother to defend much and his work rate is also questionable.

17. Giazia Rampston, 24, Arcova, Striker

Legalese presents their roster for World Cup 58!

About Legalese: The 250-year old nation has a history that is long and storied, but unfortunately, due to a series of occupations, internal rebellions, and a northern neighbor's decision to try to RAWRCRUSH the nation on the opposite side of Legalese, much of it is lost to the winds of time, war, and blood (human, and possibly vampire). The current iteration of the government is called The Judicial Federation, and is marked by an official consideration of the High Court of Legalese, the nation's highest court, as the Head of State, though most governmental functions are handled through the Bureaucratic Service, whose Director could be considered the Prime Ministerial equivalent. A heavy emphasis is placed on national service, much of which is initially fulfilled through the military. A recent development was the settling and unification of mainland Legalese with an island pair, The Karin Islands, and the re-establishment of the ancient city of Tyrellia. This also marks the first national team roster to include a representative from the islands, Kelvin Bassford.

The national governing body for association football is, fittingly, the Legalese Football Association, which is presently organizing the first season of a resurrected domestic competition. All of the selected players for the roster will be participating in it, as there are no known Legalites playing internationally outside of the Judicial Federation.

My RP Permissions are pretty chill to be honest.
Pretty much anything goes, I only ask that you let me decide the severity of any injuries you decide to RP for me, please.
Send my players off if you must -- if its a player I really didn't wanna lose for the next game, I'll RP an appeal or something.
Oh and at the risk of sounding a bit "RAWR" ... do not kill any of my players or coaching staff (unless I say go ahead via TG).
Killing fans is okay though. Go nuts with that if you like.

Firstly, the NSWiki page is not complete, but still worth a look...

Set piece preferences (in order):
Corner kick takers: Ibrahim, Martelli, Kouli, Simpson, Robinson
Penalty takers: Roberts, A. di Corradi, Ibrahim, Martelli, Barca-Carthy
Free kick takers: Ibrahim, Martelli, A. di Corradi, Pepito, Iniesta
Long free kicks: Barca-Carthy, Dhanda, Romano, Kinsella, Holland

You don't have to stick to that, though. It just fits in better with the way I intend to RP my team (when I can).

The team itself generally doesn't consciously defend. They press high up the pitch though and try to win the ball back as quickly as possible.
They will slow down when ahead later in the game, but only so they don't run up the score unnecessarily. Doesn't mean they wont take the opportunity to score if it presents itself.

Another thing that is important to know is that football isnt the number on sport in Osarius. Its second, to GraviBall.
Footballers are loved if they make tough tackles -- case in point, Serenity Lewis; and before her, Georgina Carsley -- because the combative nature of the game is what the fans like. Very passionate, are Osarian fans, you see.
Sooo... basically, if you're not scoring goals or making crunching tackles, the fans aren't impressed. That goes for opponents too... Osarian fans always appreciate a good tackle, so they will even applaud opposition players at times (although they will boo their goals, obvs).

From time to time I'll make reference to the area a player is from, and when I do, I will try to add an OOC note to explain what it means, because different regions of Osarius have almost entirely different cultures. For example, Tubrissian people's habits and sayings are heavily based on Phoenician/Carthaginian culture and religious beliefs.

Manager: Alain Montblanc
Montblanc's rise to the top job perhaps became inevitable after Benedict di Corradi and Elissa Barca-Carthy had their war of words, and Donovan MacLean's Callisto City began to falter in the King's League. Rather than risk causing friction by appointing Barca-Carthy, or undertake a perceived risk of embarassment under the no-longer fancied MacLean, Lord Kenterbury's board opted for the highly rated coach of the Flying Sparks -- the Osarian under 21s -- to step up. Considering Montblanc had coached several senior players during their younger days, and had led the under-21s to two Di Bradini Cup finals, it was considered a no-risk move. After a shaky start to his reign, Montblanc settled in well and has earned a lot of respect from pundits and players alike. However, the fans are yet to be won over by his tactics. Having become accustomed to balls-out offensive play under di Corradi, many have found it hard to warm to Montblanc's more cerebral approach, and the possession game. The man himself is unconcerned however, shrugging off critics in a manner not too dissimilar to his predecessor.

Assistant Managers: Rodrigo Hernandez
In the past, Hernandez served as Montblanc's mentor, making it perhaps a little strange to see him act as his number two now. However, Hernandez's presence is perhaps best suited to the assistant role. Rather than have to face all the pressures and stresses of national team management alone, Montblanc has someone he can trust implicitly to support him. Hernandez, a youth coach primarily, is perhaps not well suited to handling the egos of the Osarian senior side, either. This arrangement allows them to support each other in order to best serve the national side.

Coaches: Maurice Simmons, Jeffrey Allen, Gerald Cole
Simmons, Allen and Cole all have a strong rapport with the players, which helped the transition between di Corradi and Montblanc. They all appear to get on well with Montblanc, sharing several views on coaching philosophy. As a result, they have all remained, meaning their combined wealth of knowledge and experience is still a major benefit to Osarius' players. Particularly the youngsters Montblanc intends to bring through.

Specialist Coaches: Onyibo Oduoza (goalkeeping), Claudio Traga (fitness)
Oduoza once trained under the now-legendary Enzo Corradini at Hollybrent, and is credited with turning Orlando Florian into the legendary keeper he became. A cerebral man, Oduoza sometimes employs strange methods to bring out the best in his charges, and to develop vital skills. Few can argue with his results, however. Traga, on the other hand, is perhaps best known among sports fans back home for his past career as a Boxer. Upon retirement, Traga's love of sport led him to study sports science at Utica University, where he learnt to combine his boxing experience with science know-how to develop fitness regimes for professional sportsmen (and women). His system, The Lightstrike Method, is used in most professional sports clubs in Osarius as a major part of training, particularly during the off-season.

Medical Staff: Daniel Chambers (physiotherapist), Dr. Sarah Bocchetti (team doctor)
Chambers and Bocchetti are also old friends of the former manager, Benedict di Corradi, but their reputation within the OFA is high. Both have strong rapports with the players, too, making them invaluable members of the backroom staff.

Typical Starting Lineup

[ 4-2-3-1 ]

Roberts
Ibrahim ----- A. di Corradi ----- Martelli
Dhanda --- Barca-Carthy (c)
Criscito -- Kinsella -- Romano -- Kouli
Corradini

Roberts is capable of playing as a target-man, or on the shoulder of the last defender. Typically he prefers to try and beat the offside trap and latch onto through balls into the channels, while stretching the gap between midfield and defence as much as possible.

When playing alongside a centre forward (such as Maria di Corradi or Michael Cassetti, for example) he will drop deeper to win flick-ons and such, while they will press forward.

Ibrahim, though a right winger, often lines up on the left when Martelli plays. This gives the Firebirds two inverted wingers, leaving a lot of space on the flanks for their advancing fullbacks. Rarely will both wingers tuck in at once, though, with the other staying wide or pushing up to support the point forward.
Both Pepito and Alessandro di Corradi like to play "between the lines", relying on the movement of those ahead, and the passing of those behind. Essentially operating in a free-role, they have a knack for popping up in the most dangerous position.
Dhanda and Barca-Carthy are both capable of playing the deep-lying playmaker (regista) role as well as the defensive "holding" role, and as such they, at varying times, will undertake the responsibilities of either role.
Both fullbacks love to get forward, while the attackers in front of them tend to cut inside often. This overlapping often causes problems for defences, but does sometimes leave the Firebirds vulnerable to counter-attacks down the flanks.
Both Kinsella and Romano are pretty confident on the ball, and like to play the ball out of defence. However, Kinsella tends to push up from the back line more often to aggressively win the ball, while Romano prefers to "sweep up". When partnering a less technically refined centre back -- like Steele, for example -- Kinsella would then sit back and allow them to fulfil that role.

The squad itself changes often, as Montblanc likes to try and give younger players more appearances to aid their development -- he was the national under 21s coach, after all -- alongside more experienced players. He doesn't like to change his back four too much though, except in cases where one fullback might change specifically to counter an opposing threat, for example. He certainly doesn't like to mix up the central defensive pairings very often at all though... For example, Romano tends to play alongside Kinsella, so it's unlikely Montblanc would play him alongside Steele or Pugh. More likely, if Kinsella is unavailable, Romano would be benched, and an entirely new defensive partnership (and potentially whole new back four) would step in.

With the exception of friendlies, or cases of extreme injury problems (a possibility) the team will always be picked from the initial "pool" below.

Should Osarius qualify for the World Cup proper, the following list will be trimmed down to provide a World Cup squad of 23 players.

Montblanc also emphasises versatility from his players, meaning almost every player must be accomplished at playing another role in the team if required. Secondary positions can be guessed or assumed if you like. I don't mind.

National Pool

Goalkeepers

#01 - GK - Marco CORRADINI - 30 years old - Burningham City F.C.
#13 - GK - Geneva CLEVELAND - 27 years old - Kart Hago FC
#32 - GK - Iñigo AMBROSIO - 22 years old - Grasshoppers Turic FC

Marco Corradini retains the number one shirt by virtue of yet another strong domestic campaign, although he knows he will face tough oppositio from Geneva Cleveland over the next few years. The Kart Hago 'keeper has matured late, but is currently one of the most coveted goalkeepers in Osarius. Many have suggested that had it not been for her extended absence mid-season, Kart Hago may have stayed in the King's League. The final option is Turic's Ambrosio, who has shown great promise at under-21 level. He remains cool under pressure, but questions have been raised over his ability to control the penalty area.

David USTARI - 22 years old - Hastmead Diamante CFC
Me'nu KATULI'HA - 18 years old - Kyoshiku Island FC
Gareth MASON - 18 years old - AFC Hollybrent
Brooklyn McLEOD - 17 years old - Shanak FC

David Ustari's King's League experience places him above his rivals for a goalkeeping spot in the national team, though they have all been tipped as potential future Osarius No. 1s. Of the three, Mason is the frontrunner, having trained at the Enzo Corradini Goalkeeping Academy in Hollybrent.

Defenders

#05 - CB - Carlo ROMANO - 30 years old - Pythons (QPM)
#06 - CB - Conor KINSELLA - 27 years old - Burningham City F.C.
#15 - CB - Valeria AYALA - 28 years old - Utica United F.C.
#28 - SW - Katherine HOLLAND - 31 years old - Cymrwell FC
#30 - CB - Craig PUGH - 28 years old - Paper Tree Town F.C.

Montblanc's decision to make Romano and Kinsella his starting partnership -- promoting Romano ahead of Holland -- appears to be borne out of concerns over the latter's fitness more than anything. Holland's injury troubles in recent months have forced the manager's hand, although he freely admits that he rates her highly. Interestingly, he has mentioned the potential for Katherine Holland to play an anchoring role in midfield should a 3-5-2 system be put into use. The inclusion of Valeria Ayala will surprise no-one, as she has been one of the most coveted defenders in the nation in recent years. The Utica centre-half might not be on the radar for title-contenders, and talk of her potential seems redundant considering her age, but she is easily a capable backup to any defender in the squad. Mmost likely to partner her should she get the nod at any time is perhaps the biggest shock in Montblanc's initial squad; Craig Pugh. The Paper Tree Town captain doesn't look like a Montblanc-type player with his no-nonsense defending and almost Sunday league appearance... but when you consider that his side's defensive record was bettered only by a Marco Corradini-led Burningham City defence, and no team in the King's League had a better defensive record at home... his selection might make a little more sense.

SW - Manraj DHILLON - 27 years old - Firewood City F.C.
SW - Malin ECKERS - 21 years old - Charleston Athletic FC
CB - Brent STEELE - 22 years old - Burningham City F.C.
CB - Vittore ZAVAGLIA - 19 years old - Utica United F.C.
CB - Ryan WALKER - 24 years old - Real Jraxville FC
CB - Eduarda OLIVERA - 20 years old - Paper Tree Town F.C.

The reserves are largely promising players from the better defensive sides in Osarius, with the exception of Dhillon. Dhillon's exclusion is almost certainly the result of Holland's inclusion -- they're too similar to both be in the initial thirty-two -- and the depth in his secondary position of right-back. Malin Eckers' playing style bears more than a little resemblance to a younger Katherine Holland, who she confesses to have tried to emulate to a degree throughout her career so far. The Flying Sparks' first choice defensive partnership at the last Di Bradini Cup, of Steele and Zavaglia, find themselves among Montblanc's backup choices, and while they are probably not quite ready to play at full international level, they may see some game time against weaker opposition, or toward the end of qualifying if Osarius are certain of progression, or perhaps more likely, certain of their failure to qualify. The inclusion of Ryan Walker among the reserves is a slight surprise, though his contributions to his team's stellar defensive record last season (conceded only one more than Paper Tree Town) are easily overlooked. Not blessed with pace or height, Walker dominates the ground, reading play excellently, and often ranks high on the interceptions rankings. Eduarda Olivera on the other hand is a pacy sweeper-upper type defender not too unlike the legendary Rafa Higuain.

Fullbacks

#02 - LB - Gennaro CRISCITO - 29 years old - Rapid Hearthlands
#03 - RB - Federico AGNELLI - 29 years old - Violia FC
#17 - LB - Azarai ROBINSON - 18 years old - Firewood City F.C.
#19 - RB - Habib KOULI - 22 years old - Hastmead Diamante CFC
#21 - LB - Katherine CROMWELL - 21 years old - Hastmead Diamante CFC

Georgina Carsley's retirement from international football -- subsequently followed by the announcement of her intent to hang up her boots at the end of the 2194-95 season -- was met with tears from Firebirds fans, but Gennaro Criscito rejoiced. After being somewhat frozen out toward the end of di Corradi's reign amid rumours of his dalliances with glamour models and alleged penchant for partying, the Rapid Hearthlands fullback appears to have cemented himself into the left-back starting position under Montblanc. His crossing is still not as good as it perhaps should be, but his ability to win the ball and embark on a swift counter, streaking down the left flank, have earned him the number two shirt. Opposite him, Hastmead's Habib Kouli seems to be favoured over national team veteran Federico Agnelli, perhaps by virtue of his superior pace. Kouli's attacking attributes are superior to his defending, overall... but when your play forces your manager to play the club's record signing out of position, you must be a bit special. While Kouli's only real competition is from Agnelli, Criscito has to contend with two of the most promising left backs in Osarius. Robinson's emergence at Firewood is slowly forcing Ronald Ceasar to reduce the playing time (or starting position) of club captain Balkrishan Samra, while Cromwell has freed up her club captain to play his preferred role in midfield. Robinson's strengths lie in his pace and crossing ability, making him a dangerous attacking threat, while Cromwell's defensive awareness and anticipation make her a formidable opponent for all but the best wingers. Criscito perhaps starts because he is the better all-round player of the three, however, despite arguably being less of an attacker than Robinson, and less of a defender than Cromwell.

LB - Amanda JENKINS - 22 years old - Greeningham City F.C.
LB - Philip WARWICK - 20 years old - Real Jraxville FC
LB - Grazia BERNARDI - 17 years old - AFC Hollybrent
RB - Tobias CARTER - 20 years old - Kyoshiku Island FC
RB - Erica BRODERICK - 22 years old - Arcaea County F.C.
RB - Nathan BROOKE - 26 years old - Utica United F.C.

The names that stand out among the reserves are Jenkins and Carter. Both were tipped for greatness this past season, and both benefit from excellent mentoring at their respective clubs. Carter's Kyoshiku were relegated last season, and the club may find it hard to hold onto the islander, as the majority of the club is Ba'iora and he is not. Jenkins on the other hand, has filled in admirably for the immensely popular Carsley on numerous occasions, impressing with tough-tackling reminiscent of that of her mentor. The other names range from the experience (Brooke) to the almost totally green (Bernardi), and offer Montblanc a host of options.

Midfielders

#04 - CM - Ayanna BARCA-CARTHY - 30 years old - Real Jraxville FC
#08 - CM - Jayson DHANDA - 26 years old - Utica United F.C.
#10 - AM - PEPITO - 27 years old - Real Jraxville FC
#16 - CM - Guinevere BAIRD - 21 years old - Hastmead Diamante CFC
#20 - DM - Arron N'DAW - 22 years old - Hastmead Diamante CFC
#24 - AM - Alessandro DI CORRADI - 24 years old - Firewood City F.C.
#25 - CM - Serenity LEWIS - 21 years old - Firewood City F.C.
#29 - CM - Andre GUMBLE - 27 years old - Greeningham City F.C.
#31 - DM - Mohammed KUMAR - 27 years old - Eastern Chase (CVC)
#35 - CM - Alvaro INIESTA - 29 years old - AFC Hollybrent
#36 - CM - Reinaldo GONZALEZ - 22 years old - Firewood City F.C.

The central midfield partnership of Dhanda and Barca-Carthy looks unbreakable at times, and its a shame the two will likely never play for the same club, as such a development would only help the national team. Their flexibility, understanding, and influential presences are key to the flow of the team. Dhanda tends to take up the more dynamic role, doing most of the legwork, which frees up Barca-Carthy to exploit her phenomenal passing range and vision. Dhanda is also capable of operating as the regista, but his generally combative nature means he prefers to "get stuck in". Equally, when Montblanc sets the team up for a midfield battle, Barca-Carthy will move about more -- leaving the deep-lying role to a defensive midfielder -- and look to be the "spare player" whenever possible, offering an out for her team in their liberal use of triangular passing formations. The inclusion of Guinevere Baird and Serenity Lewis is entirely predictable, as the two combined effectively in the Di Bradini Cup, and are spoken of highly by pundits, coaches and managers across the country as the future of the national team. Montblanc will likely deploy them as a unit in matches he expects the team to win more easily, in order to build up their experience. Andre Gumble's presence in the initial selection is almost certainly for his dynamism. The Greeningham captain has struggled a little in the past to live up to the hype, but Greeningham's recent revival has largely been the result of his work-rate and guile in the middle. The inclusion of two defensive midfielders and two attacking midfielders in the thirty-two represents Montblanc's gradual move away from the traditional attacking game played by previous Firebirds teams, toward a more neutral possession-based game. That said, while we can expect an attacking midfielder to feature in every game, Kumar and N'Daw will see noticeably less game time, likely being reserved for tactical changes later in games, or starts against particularly creative midfields.

DM - Quan NASH - 20 years old - Greeningham City F.C.
DM - Carl EALY - 24 years old - Charleston Athletic FC
DM - Sian MARTIN - 23 years old - Rapid Hearthlands
CM - Michael HARRIS - 25 years old - Utica United F.C.
CM - Maryann WALSH - 25 years old - Cymrwell FC
CM - Logan YORKE - 21 years old - Hastmead Diamante CFC
CM - Elena ORLOVA - 24 years old - Trelagstad FC
AM - Miguel RAPINATO - 22 years old - Burningham City F.C.
AM - Penelope RICCI - 26 years old - Bowsston United FC
AM - Aaliyah FERGUSON - 27 years old - Arcaea County F.C.

Montblanc has named a wide host of midfielders in his reserve list, with the ability to fill in for any loss, or cater to any opposition. Perhaps most notable is the inclusion of Elena Orlova, who will become only the third Trelagstad player to represent the nation should she get the call. Most promising names among this list are Gonzalez, Yorke and Rapinato, who have formed a trio at national youth level and are somewhat familiar with each other.

Wingers and Wide Midfielders

#07 - RM - Hamzah IBRAHIM - 25 years old - Hastmead Diamante CFC
#11 - LM - Autumn PHELPS - 29 years old - AFC Hollybrent
#12 - RW - Roque URBINA - 19 years old - Firewood City F.C.
#18 - RM - Enrico MARTELLI - 30 years old - Firewood City F.C.
#23 - LW - Jordan SIMPSON - 33 years old - Hastmead Diamante CFC
#34 - LM - Brett HENDRICKS - 22 years old - Grasshoppers Turic FC

Though selected to play on the right, Osarian football's last golden boy, Enrico Martelli, is most likely to drift into the middle, echoing his new role for his club -- not unlike his predecessors Benni Watson and Benedict di Corradi -- which lends more weight to the selection of Habib Kouli at right back (for overlapping purposes). Similarly, expect the right-footed Hamzah Ibrahim to line up on the left a lot, cutting inside to both have shots on goal and wreak havoc in midfield. Autumn Phelps' relegation to the bench is likely the result of her relative lack of impact at Hollybrent of late, where she has only shown her previous form in flashes. Similar things can be said of Jordan Simpson, who has been seen to make worrying errors in judgment toward the end of last season, despite his age... which is starting to catch up with him. The youngest selections, Urbina and Hendricks, have both impressed, with Urbina's loan spell at Muirford seeing him named among the best players of the Royal League this past season. Meanwhile, Hendricks forced his way into Turic's starting lineup in pre-season, and has remained there for the majority of the year. He couldn't compete with the likes of Ibrahim, Dobreda, Yutepov or di Corradi in the assist stakes, but he definitely impressed.

RM - Damien HARRIS - 20 years old - Violia FC
RM - Christopher REVIS - 21 years old - Bowsston United FC
RW - Michael RUSH - 22 years old - Real Jraxville FC
LM - Jade GROSS - 27 years old - AFC Hollybrent
LM - Kasim SHAZAD - 25 years old - Trothwands Evolution
LW - Gilberto CUELLAR - 18 years old - Zhevassi (KPZ)

The most notable name among the reserves is Gilberto Cuellar, who recently joined the rich and popular Pazhujebi club, Zhevassi. With some tipping him as the future of the left wing for Osarius, it will be interesting to see how he handles the pressure, should he get the nod. The other names are far from being unworthy of mention, though. In particular, Christopher Revis is held in high regard in Fourge, with rumours abound that Trothwands are after him -- probably only because Firewood and Hastmead have a lot of wingers already -- while Violia's Damien Harris is equally vaunted as a future star for the Firebirds.

Forwards

#09 - ST - Romario ROBERTS - 26 years old - Greeningham City F.C.
#14 - RF - Francesco BARZAGLIONE - 27 years old - Firewood City F.C.
#22 - LF - Maria DI CORRADI - 25 years old - Firewood City F.C.
#26 - CF - Defante BRYANT - 25 years old - Juvillian Martinax (ERA)
#27 - CF - Michael CASSETTI - 26 years old - Burningham City F.C.

While Roberts will remain the starting forward for the most part, three of the other four selected form the "next generation" of Firewood's trident attack of the 2160s, which has football fans in Osarius salivating. Barzaglione, Cassetti and di Corradi have never lined up together thus far -- in this generation, at least -- but hopes are high. Maria di Corradi is listed as a left forward, however she is perhaps the most versatile forward in the squad, capable of playing on either side, as a centre forward, or as a bonafide striker. Her inclusion is not only because of her impressive performances for Firewood City last season, but also she acts as a facilitator for Montblanc's tactical tinkering and strategic ploys. Following another strong season in Erathore, Defante Bryant earns another call-up, and a chance to make a partnership with Roberts work, as Montblanc had hoped for in the last Cup of Harmony.

ST - Cameron STERN - 22 years old - Utica United F.C.
ST - Dante SPERANZO - 30 years old - Utica United F.C.
CF - Elene ALTIERI - 21 years old - Hastmead Diamante CFC
CF - Madelyn VALDEZ - 30 years old - Violia FC
LF - Anjelica VITALI - 25 years old - Utica United F.C.
RF - Cesare VALENTI - 19 years old - Hastmead Diamante CFC

Back to Montblanc's love of versatility, as he has named a range of players in his reserves list. Though the only player here who is really capable of a hold-up/target-man type role is Madelyn Valdez. Though his options are open for practically any formation or tactical system he might wish to implement.

The Roster
NOTE: When RP'ing, the name of my players in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS AND BOLD are the player's family names. These are the names on their jersey and the name professional commentators would call out when making observations. Also, do not write the names in all capital letters, as this is somewhat annoying when reading; I just imagine someone reading calmly along then suddenly SHOUTING the player's name. For example, if writing about FENG Shaoli making a long shot, one would write "Feng made a long shot..." as opposed to "FENG made a long shot..." If you have any further questions regarding names, please feel free to telegram me.

Starting players will have their names in GREEN type
Alternate players will have their names in BLUE type
Reserve Playes will have their names in STANDARD type.

22- Bai'a KITA
Height: 183cm - Weight: 79kg – Age: 27 years old - Team: FC Mando
A goalkeeper who is known for having a short attention span, Kita is the epitomy of a Mandalorian goalkeeper: Known for taking excessive risks, bum-rushing an opponent to make a distant steal and playing on the rim of the box, Kita is a gamble in any game he appears in. Perhaps that is why he is the second goalkeeper for the Bisons; maybe why he is a member of FC Mando too...

While his form is less chisled than Nishimura, Kita enjoys a great camradiere with many of his teammates; something the older starter seems to lack; perhaps it is an age difference, perhaps it is cultural. However, whatever it is, when in the net, Kita is able to almost control the game with shouts in Mando'a and giant hand signals. In both the Baptism of Fire and the World Cup qualifying statges, Kita proved instrumental in the last leg of the group stage; able to pull many a win for the Bisons as well as usurping Nishimura as the staring keeper for the Bisons

1- NISHIMURA Kenshin
Height: 187cm - Weight: 80kg – Age: 32 years old - Team: RC United
The second-oldest player on the team, Nishimura may also be the most agile. A top-form goalkeeper in his last ten seasons with RC United, Nishimura has established himself as the 'veteran' on a team which has yet to make a World Cup appearance. However, do not let his 'inexperience' fool you; as Nishimura has played in multiple Incarnate Cups and even more games in the RPFL. It should be noted that in the Baptism of Fire, Nishimura was inconsistent; sometimes allowing a single goal in a match and other times, letting in three or more. What effect will this have on his stock for the World Cup? We shall see...

33- CHU Takumi
Height: 183cm - Weight: 81kg – Age: 21 years old - Team: Republic City State University
The newest recurit for the goalkeeping sector of the team, Chu Takumi is young gun in an armory of experienced weapons. Known as a loose cannon who needs to refine his form before any appearances, Coach Vhett believes that having him just on the bench, observing the game and playing in practices will do leaps of good for him in the long run; and with Nishimura not getting any younger...

Left Defenders:

2- MIYAMOTO Kaoru
Height: 187cm - Weight: 82kg – Age: 22 years old - Team: Kuruk FC
A big defender with the skills to back up his talk, Miyamoto Kaoru is an impressive specimen of a defender. Playing for agruably one of the best teams in the RPFL has hardened this man into an imposing wall of strength on the backfield. Prepare to see plenty of tackles, shoves and general rough play from a man who grew up playing meshgeroya; an Avatarian variation of football also known as 'limmie' or 'bolo-ball'.

12- AKIYAMA Qiangyi
Height: 183cm - Weight: 86kg – Age: 24 years old - Team: Ba Sing Se UNITED

Much like Miyamoto, Akiyama is a no-nonsense player. He has no problem laying an opponent out for a fowl, and as such as earned the most red cards in a single season by any player in the Modern Era (12) as well as garnishing multiple suspensions. He is a rough player who pairs perfectly with Miyamoto and the two have earned the moniker, ”The Dueling Mandos” by the media.

16- ZHANG Jijian
Height: 178cm - Weight: 75kg – Age: 20 years old - Team: RC United
A young player who was drafted two seasons ago to the Premier Cup champions RC United, Zhang is still a young player with much to learn from his teammates. While he lacks the size of Akiyama and Miyamoto, he most certainly does not lack on the heart: During practice skirmishes, Zhang is often found opposite Miyamoto and has thrown himself full-force into the 'Mando Mauler', only to receive a week-ending injury as a parting gift.

Central Defenders
5- KIM Dong Su
Height: 178cm - Weight: 75kg – Age: 24 years old - Team: Ba Sing Se UNITED
Not a highly-rated player for the Bison defence, however, Kim has shown himself to be a surprise in many a games; a fine defensive player, Kim is also a very good option for the full-back position when results are needed. He supports the offence well, with very strong passing and marking skills.

Outside the stadium, Kim is the morale of the team. Often telling jokes and giving out care packages, he is loved by the fans and by the media for his often-spirited antics and interviews

15- WONG Haru
Height: 185cm - Weight: 83kg – Age: 18 years old - Team: University of Kibago

Given his size, one would expect Wong to have a style of play more similar to Fujimoto. However, growing up playing in the offensive-orientated Earth Kingdom's LEAGUE ROYALE shaped Wong into a speed-demon in the body of a tank. He is quick to run, able to outpace many of his teammates and overtake many of his opponents. His endurance is bar-none the best of the team, which Coach Vhett attributes to his genes; the son of a clone trooper with the Avatarian Republics' Mandalorian Corps, Wong shares similar genetics to several other players as well as Vhett himself.

At such a young age, Wong is set to be drafted out of college when he graduates in two years, with many deals already in the works. Given his growth during World Cup 57, Wong was moved into the Starting 11, opposite of Kim, which seems to be a great move with their off-pitch chemistry and on-pitch teamwork.

6- FUJIMOTO Zhong
Height: 175cm - Weight: 70kg – Age: 26 years old - Team: RC United
Extremely fast given his size, Fujimoto is a full-back more focused on the offence, and can have some minor difficulties when tasked with defence. Able to quickly counter any attack placed before him, Fujimoto serves as a valuable link between the offence and the defence. An excellent sniper, Fujimoto is one of the best free-kickers on the team, being able to take pieces with either pure technique, pure strength or a combination of the two; exceeding in both styles is a rare form in Avatarian football.

However, every gem has its imperfection and for Fujimoto, it is discipline. With such natural talent coming easy, Fujimoto has yet to truly have to work to exceed: Rather, he naturally falls into the game and succeeds at almost everything he does. This lack of discipline wears on his team mates, many of whom believe he is just a spoiled snob not worthy of the Avatarian kit.

Right Defenders:

13- BAO Yiyong
Height: 177cm - Weight: 76kg – Age: 21 years old - Team: Kuruk FC

While certainly not the oldest player in the defence, Bao serves to give a bit of balance between the youth beneath him and the seniority above him. A strong member of the Kuruk FC, Bao strives to deliver a consistent performance game after game, though this obsession with consistency has caused him to blow many a checks of liquor and loose women.

At World Cup 57, Bao was called into the line-up as a replacement for Kobayashi, whose tournament-ending ankle strain is still keeping him from the line-up. While on the pitch, Bao was a strong link to the midfield, easily able to steal the ball and pass it along through great traffic.

3- KOBAYASHI Ren
Height: 187cm - Weight: 83kg – Age: 28 years old - Team: FC Beijing
The veteran of the Defenders, Kobayashi is a mixture of strength, speed, techicality and violence. He is strong for his size, though the restraint he shows upon merging on an attacker is admirable. He is a bit of a 'bully', often provoking his opponent to the point of breaking just for the fun of it all.

Still healing after a tournament-ending high-ankle strain, Kobayashi is a day-to-day call-up; all depending on the diagnosis pre-match. Unfortunately for Kobayashi, he was not able to heal in time for the pre-World Cup Market Cup V, and as such was placed as an alternate.

23- XU Lingbo
Height: 183cm - Weight: 84kg – Age: 19 years old - Team: Republic City State University

One of the more youth players on the team, Xu has fallen under the tutelage of Kobayashi, so much that the two right defenders room together on every road trip, visit one another during bye weeks and Kobayashi will even visit RCSU once a month just to check up on Xu; considering RCSU was his alma mater, it is not unordinary for Kobayashi to take an interest in a fellow RC Bison.

This tutelage has resulted in the shifting of Xu's skill-set, from more of a reserved full-back to a matured one, capable of running with his opponent, stealing the ball quick and passing it off up-pitch even faster.

Defensive Midfielders:

7- MAKI Li
Height: 178cm - Weight: 76kg – Age: 25 years old - Team: Ba Sing Se UNITED
A veteran of the Grand Army of the Republic, Maki was shot with an assault rifle during a border dispute with the Charicific Valley which tore his left shoulder to shreds. Six months of physical therapy resulted in his retirement, however, Maki had a great passion in football; luckily for him, you don't need to use your arms in football. At 23, he was drafted by Ba Sing Se as a defensive midfielder and within the first six months of play, he established himself as a premier player. Being a veteran, he is often found with the other 'military players' on the team, notably Kad'e Tay'haai, Kotyc'e Bralor and Wong Haru. A result of his training, Maki is a very serious player, whose morale is spot-on and dedication to the team is second only to Vhett himself; this leads to him being liked a little less than most players, but since when has football been a popularity contest?

4- Kotyc'e BRALOR
Height: 187cm - Weight: 85kg – Age: 23 years old - Team: Keldabe FC

In Keldabe, Bralor makes for a perfect pair with Tay'haai: While Bralor serves as the connection from the defence to the attack, Tay'haai gives the sniping skills of a well-honed soldier. Quick on his feet and agile in mind, Bralor is just starting on his historic career...

Just as his partner on the midfield defence, Bralor is military veteran. His father is a General within the Grand Army of the Republic and Bralor is currently on Sportsmanship Leave from his own military life as a Sergeant, First Class in the GAR. Having the rigors of combat beaten into him since the beginning of his adult life, Bralor knows full well the pay-off for hard work, well-refined skills and dedication. In the BoF, Bralor was able to score three individual goals in the Group Stage... Something which caught Vhett off-guard.

17- TRAN Bảo
Height: 177cm - Weight: 80kg – Age: 22 years old - Team: FC Mando
A player like Tran is one you would hardly notice. He rarely makes a goal, never drives it to the net and doesn't play a very show-boating game. Instead, he is a hard-working midfielder, who focuses his time on setting up the offence for a great pass, a well-positioned switch or the decisive tackle to change the momentum in the game. Ranked as the second-best player on FC Mando, Tran has worked hard to get to the National Team, so expect to see him alternate to relieve Bralor or Maki in the late games.

Neutral Midfielders:

18- TSUKINO Hachiro
Height: 183cm - Weight: 84kg – Age: 19 years old - Team: Sparta FC (CDP)
Extremely technical for a player his age, Tsukino is definitely an up-and-coming player within the Avatarian league system. Currently attending Ba Sing Se University, he is the assistant captain under former-FC Mando star forward, Head Coach Ki Lovhett and has begun to take a more offensive-style of play in the last few months.

Given his terrific performance in WC 57, Tsukino was selected and drafted to play for Sparta FC, a Série A football club in Cotdelapoms. In addition to reaching the professional level, Tsukino has transferred his education to Accord, a premier Science and Arts University in Albionpool, Cotdelapoms. There, he shall be pursuing a degree in Biomolecular Engineering and a minor in Physics.

Attacking Midfielders:

8- Pre KRYSE
Height: 183cm - Weight: 85kg – Age: 27 years old - Team: FC Mando
A starter on FC Mando since he graduated high school, Kryse has been the golden child of the game; predicted to reach the national level by 21, shocking the nation Kryse made the cut at 19 and even had to have a special law passed through the National Sports Council before his first cap against Gaoling. His footballing style is very offensive, working as the last link between the midfield and the offence; Kryse has been known to even advance from the midfield to score some key goals in pivotal games. He has a powerful long shot and is exceptional at heading, both of which are aided by his height. However, as skilled as he is in offense, Kryse still prefers to pass the ball up to forwards for an assist in a goal as opposed to being the star player.

11- NGO Quyen
Height: 185cm - Weight: 81kg – Age: 25 years old - Team: RC United
A very creative midfielder, Ngo is not known for his consistency: One day, Ngo may get a couple assists and even a goal while keeping the opponent at bay, when on others, he could barely get a foot on the ball; many in the league attribute this to Ngo's service in the Republic Mariens and as such, he has been seeing psychiatrists for these issues. A bit of a clown, on those days he is well-inspired, Ngo will often perform many an antic when a goal is scored, thus earning him the love of the fans. On those days less-inspired, Ngo will hardly shuffle through the pitch, tending to gaze at his feet instead of ahead...

14- HIMURA Katsu
Height: 185cm - Weight: 81kg – Age: 21 years old - Team: Northern AFC
Relatively young when compared to his teammates, Himura has not had a promising start to his career, both at home and abroad. Given his still-developming skills in midfield, his is seen as a comparitively weak player and often spends more time with the coaching staff than other more-seasoned players. In his second season out of college with the Northern AFC, Himura is a techical player by nature whose greatest asset is not in his aim or power, but in the art of dribbling which he uses at every oppurtunity. Yet to score a single goal in his career, Himura is prone to provide the most assists of the team when in play.

9- WAKAHISA Hikaru
Height: 189cm - Weight: 86kg – Age: 25 years old - Team: FC Beijing
A great player who is the star of FC Beijing, Wakahisa a world of contradiction. While he gets along swimmingly with his teammates and has the technical form of a football-playing robot, his morale leaves something to desire; a defeatist by nature, whenever the going gets a little too tough, Wakahisa will start to crack. Why Vhett chose him for the team, no one can understand. However, at the time of this report, Vhett was seen giving a stern verbal barage to Wakahisa at the practice field in Omashu... Perhaps things will change.

Given his size, he makes for an impressive target for midfielders; coupled with his physical strength and accuracy, there is very little the defence can do should Wakahisa break through. Many a times a defender has gone for a tackle, only to have the 86-kilo Wakahisa just steam roll him. Known for his aerial skills as well as his ground work, a goal from Wakahisa is just as easily to come from the sky as it is to come from the ground. In the BoF, Wakahisa was able to add five shots to his international resume; a feat only topped by Kad'e Tay'haai...

10- Kad’e TAY’HAAI
Height: 178cm - Weight: 74kg – Age: 28 years old - Team: Keldabe FC
Tay’haai comes from a sports-centric family; with his father a coach in the AHL, his brother a member of the National Ice Bisons and his mother the coach of the women’s national football team, fans and critics have come to expect nothing but greatness from Tay’haai. Certainly they have not been mislead, with Tay’haai has become known as ‘The Next One’ following the retirement of VId’a Ambeck six years ago. When on the pitch, he plays almost effortlessly, dodging defenders as if they were standing still, sniping balls past nets which might as well have been empty and being the media’s favourite player.

He strives for perfection in every session and he knows too well the wrath of Vhett when he does not perform well. In his personal life, he is a staunch supporter of the military, given his family’s history with the GAR; his grandfather was one of the first training sergeants of the GAR’s clone-based military nearly 60 years ago and ever since, Tay’haai donates portions of his salary to charities which support the GAR. During an impressive appearance at the BoF, Tay'haai was able to score an astonishing nine goals; even earning his first international hat trick in the game against Greater Coventry. In the ensuing world cup, Tay’haai earned eleven goals, followed by seven more in the Fifth Market Cup. It seems as if nothing can stop the Next One...

19- NGYUEN Bình Đức
Height: 185cm - Weight: 80kg – Age: 23 years old - Team: Ba Sing Se UNITED
Known as one of the fastest players in the league, Ngyuen is an impressive striker who only has one issue; accuracy. Known as a ‘loose cannon’ throughout the league, his impressive speed combined with his unparalleled power often erupts and launches the balls over the net, to the far right or far left of the net and even into the stands only to injure small children. A liability with this lack of accuracy, Ngyuen spends most of his free time practicing accuracy with Tay’haai, who as a seasoned veteran, only wishes to help train a potential replacement in years to come.

20- PHAM Vinh Lành
Height: 187cm - Weight: 84kg – Age: 26 years old - Team: RC United
Probably the biggest surprise player on the Avatarian team, Pham never made any headlines until his first international cap last season as an alternate; brought in during the final ten minutes of play, Pham was able to make an impressive three goals within that time frame, blind-siding the Gaoling Boars in a 4-1 game. A well-seasoned pivot man, Pham is not known for his endurnance, however, his ability to read the pitch and place himself ahead of a ball to bring in an attempt --- even if the pass is terrible --- through his excellent ball-handling skills.

21- A’den SKIRATA
Height: 185cm - Weight: 83kg – Age: 17 years old - Team: Keldabe State University
The youngest son in what has to be the Republic’s greatest sports family, Skirata is too young to be seen as a starter or even an alternate in any game of the World Cup. However, you can expect to see him out during friendly matches in which the Republic is set to win; being groomed by both Vhett and Tay’haai as the next great player, Skirata has some great shoes to fill, though it is without a question that he will exceed all expectations.

Of note is the fact that Skirata was able to play in the final minutes of the Greater Coventry game in World Cup 57; earning his first international cap as well as his first victory under the Bisons as a 'commissioned player'.

Head Coach: VHETT Boba
Height: 182cm – Weight: 76kg – Age 43 years old – Team: Keldabe FC, Head Coach
Having coached for eleven years since his retirement from active service, Vhett was the obvious choice for the Head Coach of the National Team following the retirement of the infamous Ko Palu. A man who played for a couple of years in the top club in its day, Vhett has the experience to understand his players, read the field as if he were on it and adapt quickly. Vhett has been the head coach for Keldabe FC for the last four seasons and bringing with him two Premier Cups to the National Stage, the Bisons look set to make a good first showing.
Rating: A - Team Relationship: A - Morale: B - Confidence: A

Assistant Coach: LIU An Qiang
Height: 178cm – Weight: 72kg – Age 37 years old – Team: RC United, Head Coach
Being Head Coach of one of the most successful clubs in Avatarian history certainly has its advantages, and with being selected to the Assistant Coach position for the Bisons, Liu has certainly gained more stock. Formerly the star striker of Southern AFC, Liu has only been ‘out of the game’ for five years; in his first year of retirement, he was given the Assistant Coach position at FC Mando, however, the next year RC United’s illustrious coach Chao Rodrigiu retired and soon Liu was offered the position.

Much like Vhett, Liu is a think-on-your-feet kind of coach, quickly able to read the field as his men do, adjust his own strategies and prepare them for whosoever they face. It is indeed a tough job coaching in Vhett’s shadow, however, with the U-20 squad coming into light, perhaps Liu may step out of it soon enough.

Head Medical Officer: Doctor WEN Wuchin
Height: 180cm – Weight: 78kg – Age 38 years old
A medical doctor whose primary training was as a GAR Field Medic, Wen is the best choice possible in a world where doctors prefer to stay in privately-owned hospitals rather than rural rigshacks. Wen served for ten years in the GAR before he would honourably discharged to serve as Chief Resident at the prestigious Ba Sing Se Inner Ring Medical Centre, where he would remain for six years before being given a more suitable job as Chief of Medical Training at the Republic Military Academy.

Now on the National Team’s payroll, Wen is able to use his well-honed skills to repair injuries, set his players right and have them on the field as soon as possible.

Security Chief: Captain AKAAN (RC-4648)
Height: 183cm – Weight: 81kg – Age: 19 years old CHRONOLOGICAL (39 years old BIOLOGICAL)
A clone officer within the Grand Army of the Republic, RC-4868 was appointed Chief of Security for the National Team in 2011.1. Each time the team travels abroad --- so long as he is not engaged in a mission --- RC-4868 is pulled from service and placed into the spotlight of security. He is battle-hardened, having been raised since birth for war and combat, and as such often views these assignments with true boredom. The seven men he brings with him on assignment share the same sentiments of the ‘mission’, however, their ‘unwaivering loyalty’ to the Republic prevents any negative speak during the assignment. Each is a member of the Avatarian Guard, whose sole responsibility is to defend the Avatar at both home and abroad; this protection then extends to all sports teams travelling beyond the borders of the Five Nations.

In this WC, any club facing Cafundéu can choose to play against our men's team or women's team. The squads for each of them are below in the spoilers. The first spoiler is of the men's team, the second of the women's.

Style: +2.7
players age 2 years per WC

(IMPORTANT: use the names in BOLD of my players when writing your RPs [if they are involved], please, as these are the names that they use when playing [the names in their shirts], don’t use their full name [unless it is the bolded one], as most have big full names and the Cafundelenses use nicknames exactly due to this situation. This and the observation below are the only 2 things that I ask about this issue)

(IMPORTANT 2: please do not write the names of my players in all capitals, this is important for me too. When writing a name of one of my players in your RP, write like you would write a name for any other player [don’t forget to use the one in bold]. For example: write “Rufino tried a long ranged shot...” instead of “RUFINO tried a long ranged shot...”)

See the list of the 23 players:

Goalkeepers:

1- Tarcísio Barbados "MÃO" (Team: Cafundó do Juta)
Height: 191cm – Weight: 88kg – Age: 28 years old
Respected since he was a youngster, Mão is a goalkeeper whose potential was noted when he was just a substitute in Atlético Central, and when the club was still in the Terceirona. Now that he is playing for giants Cafundó do Juta, it is time for him to stop being a promising player and becoming a world class keeper. After several poor seasons for him and his club, he finally proved his talent, and returns to the National Team.
Rating: B - Team Relationship: C - Morale: B - Form: A
PLAYED WC 55

12- Carlos PETROVIC (Team: CR Submiria)
Height: 182cm – Weight: 77kg – Age: 31 years old
It is rare for a player for a mid-table team to reach the National Team and not be questioned, but when this player is ranked amongst the best goalkeepers of the Primeirona for two consecutive seasons, this is not a surprise. Carlos Petrovic has been considered the main responsible for his team's growth in the Cafundelense league, thanks to his solid performances and his impressive long passing abilities. He is able to start counterattacks of his own from goal kicks or after a save. Defensively speaking, he is a very secure goalkeeper, but he really shines offensively: not only he is good for starting attacks, he can also take free kicks and penalty kicks very well.
Rating: B - Team Relationship: B - Morale: A - Form: B
PLAYED WCs 56/57

22- CLESTON Castanheira Figueira (Team: Clube Comercial)
Height: 181cm - Weight: 93kg – Age: 38 years old
Not exactly a tall goalkeeper by Cafundelense standards, and a bit fat by the usual standards involving footballers, Cleston surely is a curious player. No one may imagine that this man is such a great goalkeeper, until they see him playing. His jumps are tremendously high and precise, and he has very good reflexes. His only flaw is on leaving the goal to intercept crossings, something he is still training in order to improve. But, in general, an excellent goalkeeper who is certainly one of Clube Comercial’s leaders. And it is always impressive to see a somewhat fat man making great jumps!
Rating: B - Team Relationship: B - Morale: C - Form: B
PLAYED WCs 51/52/53/54/55/56/57

Right Defenders:

2- Hernani TRAVES (Team: Cafundó do Juta)
Height: 181cm – Weight: 77kg – Age: 27 years old
The substitute of Maurício in the National Team and probably in Cafundó do Juta in the near future, when the former captain of the Cafundelense squad retires. Traves is a smart player. He is good at positioning and spotting his team mates in good positions for a pass, and also is famous for being able to pull dirty moves without the referees noticing. Unfortunately for him, his popularity got harmed when it was discovered that he was faking an injury to avoid playing in matches of minor competitions, but he is so talented that was able to reach the NT even with this history.
Rating: A – Team Relationship: B – Morale: A – Form: A
PLAYED WC 57

14- José Carlos Marat "ZOCA" (Team: Eldorado)
Height: 172cm – Weight: 66kg – Age: 24 years old
A player who has never appeared in lists of the best defenders of the country, Zoca maintains his low profile but this doesn’t mean he is a bad player. He is very good defensively, and can make the difference when the team is in need of defending well or has to keep the ball possession. With Cafundéu needing to find new top players to compose the squad, Zoca finally receives a chance under the spotlights. As a person in his daily life, Zoca keeps his humble style and doesn’t like to spend much. Since he has a good salary, people believe that he has a real fortune saved, due to his economic style.
Rating: C – Team Relationship: A – Morale: A – Form: B

Left Defenders:

6- Fabiano Farath "ESQUERDINHA" (Team: SC Lasft)
Height: 177cm - Weight: 75kg – Age: 33 years old
Extremely fast, Esquerdinha is a full-back more focused on the offence, and can have some difficulties in defending. He is the one to send the ball to when you want to make a turbo counterattack, easily linking the defensive area to the offensive one. Esquerdinha is also very famous for being a good free-kick taker, being able to take set pieces with technique or strength, depending on the situation, and he does well both styles. His only problem is that he is not a very disciplined player, and this also happens outside the pitch: spends fortunes in huge parties even when he isn’t allowed to by his coach.
Rating: A - Team Relationship: B - Morale: A - Form: B
PLAYED WCs 53/54/55/56/57

16- Felipe Thomaz Morelio "LIPE" (Team: Ranca Toco)
Height: 175cm – Weight: 71kg – Age: 23 years old
With São Longuinho having a good season in the Primeirona, some of the team’s main players left, and Lipe is the main example. A speed demon, Lipe is specialized in fast offensive moves and in discrete tackles, being able to challenge the opponent attacker before he could notice it. However, although he is very quick he is also prone to making mistakes, especially missed passes. Outside the pitch, Lipe is a very friendly person with good humour, loves to make jokes and appear at the television, talking to the cameras.
Rating: C - Team Relationship: B - Morale: A - Form: A

Central Defenders:

3- Hernán Pereyra "PARAGUAIO" (Team: CR Submiria)
Height: 172cm – Weight: 70kg – Age: 27 years old
Not a name approved by most supporters from Cafundéu, Paraguaio is a curious defender. Very calm and gentle, he hardly is booked or even commits fouls. He looks very serene during the entire match, waiting for the right moment to challenge the opponent and take the ball from him. He is also very nice with all players on the field, with his team mates and with fans and the press, and it is practically impossible to dislike him, as he is so humble and honest. Son of foreigner parents, he has some strange taste for food and traditions, which come from his family.
Rating: B – Team Relationship: A – Morale: B – Form: B
PLAYED WCs 56/57

4- KLEDIR Dinei Alvarenga (Team: Petardos S/A)
Height: 190cm – Weight: 86kg – Age: 26 years old
In a single season, Kledir went from complete obscurity to a place as the starter of the Cafundelense National Team. Recruited from a amateur club into the semi-professional team Varzeano, which relies on former amateur stars to do a good job in the Primeirona, Kledir showed impressive talent with a style that mixes his strength with intelligence: he isn’t violent, but is able to take advantage of his larger build to easily send his opponents away and take the ball. Due to his good performances, went to Petardos S/A. When he is not playing or training, Kledir is known for being a good guitar player, and loves to sing country music. As most of his team mates hate that kind of music, he is the target of several jokes.
Rating: B – Team Relationship: B – Morale: B – Form: A

13- WELLINGTON Bunch (Team: Clube Comercial)
Height: 175cm – Weight: 72kg – Age: 28 years old
Another promising talent of a generation that won two Di Bradini Cups, Wellington is now a starter for Clube Comercial and a natural choice for the National Team of Cafundéu. Usually a Cafundelense defender is very strong and even violent or technical and quick, but Wellington manages to be a mix of these two styles. He is strong, but cautious when closing an attacker. He only becomes violent when provoked, but when this happens he makes it sure to provoke his offender back, so if he loses his temper his opponent will lose it too. Overall, a different defender who is very valued by his club.
Rating: B – Team Relationship: B – Morale: A – Form: C
PLAYED WCs 55/56/57

21- Eduardo Coração Ishtar "DUDU" (Team: A.F.F.)
Height: 176cm – Weight: 72kg – Age: 25 years old
The desperation of the Cafundelenses in looking for good players to replace the ones who have been performing badly in the World Cup promoted a curious change in the National Team squad. Dudu replaced his team mate in the domestic club Adão. Both have similar styles and are top players, but many people are beginning to discuss whether this change can affect the relationship between these two players inside their club.
Rating: C - Team Relationship: B - Morale: B - Form: B

Defensive Midfielders:

5- RAIMUNDO NONATO de Paula Lima (Team: SC Lasft)
Height: 171cm - Weight: 71kg – Age: 28 years old
Few people really give him the recognition he deserves for his work, because he hardly scores goals or makes wonderful moves. But Raimundo Nonato, in SC Lasft, is the man that supports all the midfield of that team, being the responsible for the start of many offensive moves and for the success of many defensive strategies. Hardly noticed for those who tend to look only for goalscorers and master tricksters, the presence of Raimundo is what makes their beautiful moves possible, as without him the ball would never reach them. At least the Cafundelense coach sees the talent of Nonato, and called him to the NT, where he can continue his tough but essential work in a football match.
Rating: B - Team Relationship: A - Morale: B - Form: A
PLAYED WC 57

15- José Carlos Questo Moura "ZEZINHO" (Team: Cafundó do Juta)
Height: 177cm – Weight: 76kg – Age: 24 years old
Zezinho is a defensive midfielder specialized in shooting: long distance shots, finishing when needed even though in his position he usually doesn't score goals, or kicking opponent players... well, you need shooting abilities for that too. Very funny when with his friends, Zezinho can be the devil for the opponents: he knows how to provoke them and make them lose concentration. But he is also a fine player.
Rating: B – Team Relationship: B – Morale: B – Form: B
PLAYED WC 57

20- ANDRÉ Dinizze (Team: Atlético Jutense)
Height: 183cm – Weight: 75kg – Age: 23 years old
A promising Cafundelense talent, who won one Di Bradini Cup, André is one of the most smart defensive midfielders the country can offer. And, if you think that Cafundéu usually does a good job in developing defensive midfielders, one can imagine a bright future for André. Tall but not that strong, André doesn’t make the guardian dog style, being more talented in holding the ball and making long ranged passes to the attackers. Also, he is excellent at crossings, being even selected in his club to take corner kicks. Intelligent, has good tactical knowledge. Outside the pitch, André loves videogames, and spends more time at home playing than in other places, as nightclubs or with the friends and relatives.
Rating: C – Team Relationship: A – Morale: B – Form: B

Neutral Midfielders:

7- Edgar Gomes RUFINO (Team: Ranca Toco)
Height: 179cm – Weight: 72kg – Age: 30 years old
Extremely technical, this midfielder usually plays in a defensive role, impressing everyone who would expect a tough guard in that position. Rufino beats his opponents with intelligence, managing to take the ball from them with style, and easily setting up counterattacks. Due to his lack of strength, he plays together with a stronger team mate in the midfield, and in club level he has Rugrosso as partner. While one is the toughest one, Rufino is the one who knows how to play good football. Rufino also got a degree in philosophy, and loves to transform his interviews in philosophy lessons, forcing the reporters to be cautious when asking questions to him, or making them avoid questions.

18- Sebastião Prates Zmeiger "TIÃO" (Team: A.F.F.)
Height: 171cm – Weight: 75kg – Age: 25 years old
A very versatile midfielder, who can practically work in any place on the pitch as long as it is in the midfield area, Tião knows well how to do a good job. He passes the ball well and has a good understanding of tactics. His low points are shooting and tackling, the reason why he cannot play well outside the midfield, restricting his job at creating offensive moves or controlling the ball when the team needs to waste some time. Every year Tião has problems in the pre-season trainings, since he always returns to the club overweight due to his love of eating.

Attacking Midfielders:

8- Leonardo Fonseca CAMACHO (Team: Valengren Kickers [QPM])
Height: 178cm – Weight: 72kg – Age: 27 years old
One of the stars of the famous Di Bradini Cup squad from Cafundéu that reached three consecutive finals in the competition, Camacho is the best Cafundelense who plays abroad. Believed to have a bright future in front of him, many people got shocked by his decision to play in a different league, and the main reason is because he wants to be a star, rather than just one more player. As for his footballing ability, Camacho is very good at long passes and through passes, being able to put the attacker in front of the goal with a nice pass that cannot be intercepted by the defender.

10- SIDMAR Koster Matos (Team: SC Lasft)
Height: 171cm – Weight: 67kg – Age: 31 years old
A very creative midfielder, Sidmar is not a player with regular performances: one day he may be very inspired, while in the other he seems to not be feeling well. The instable humour of the player is the reason, and he is trying to solve this problem with a team of psychiatrists. Sidmar is very good at creating plays, but usually does not play in an offensive position, instead being the first player to start a offensive move. He is very good at making inventive passes. Also, he became very famous thanks to his weird ways of commemorating goals, something he often does: he likes to plan some coreography with his team mates, or jump like crazy towards the fans... but surely it will be something original.

PLAYED WCs 54/55/56/57

19- Aécio FUNEZ (Team: Petardos S/A)
Height: 177cm – Weight: 69kg – Age: 23 years old
After doing a good job in the Di Bradini Cup and for minor clubs, the giants Petardos S/A signed with Aécio Funez as a bet to make the team younger and with more talent. It seems to have been a good idea, since Funez is an extremely technical player with good ability in dribbling and making beautiful moves. He is able to change the destiny of the match in a single play, by dribbling the defender who was stopping everyone or sending the ball exactly where a team mate is even in a crowded area. The only problems of Funez seem to be in the psychological area: due to his fame, he is somewhat arrogant, getting easily overconfident and sometimes even criticizing his team mates when things do not get right.

Attackers:

9- Reginaldo Olivares Cruz "NALDINHO" (Team: Urajbina [KPZ])
Height: 190cm – Weight: 86kg – Age: 25 years old
Playing for Clube Imperial after several seasons playing for clubs fighting against relegation, and now receiving a chance by playing abroad, Naldinho does not have the popularity or the money of some of his team mates in the National Team but he is really someone devoted to the nation and willing to give his blood in exchange of wins. Extremely determinated, Naldinho is also very strong and good at heading, which is an excellent combination for a striker, who won't give up even in the worst of situations. However, his technical abilities aren't that good.

11- RAEL Carneiro Musiol (Team: Clube Comercial)
Height: 178cm – Weight: 71kg – Age: 27 years old
Rael conquered international fame due to his participation in three editions of the Di Bradini Cup, all as a starter of the Monopolists. And, with the team reaching three finals of that competition and winning two titles with him as key player and top goalscorer, he began to be considered the wonderkid of Cafundéu. Now keeping his good performances in the Primeirona, he is the main hope of the Cafundelenses who want to see their country return to be a major force in football. Rael is a lethal striker, excellent dribbler and able to shoot the ball in any situation, even when well marked by opponents. He isn't one who is able to make wonderful moves, like dribbling five opponents or shooting from the midfield, but he is extremely efficient: he can take the ball in difficult positions and manage to score a goal from there. He also isn't very good defensively. In his daily life, enjoy movies and music a lot, and loves to talk about these themes.

PLAYED WCs 56/57

18- Luiz Aparecido Motta "LUIZÃO" (Team: A.F.F.)
Height: 187cm – Weight: 90kg – Age: 27 years old
Probably the biggest surprise of the Cafundelense National Team, Luizão wasn't seen as a top attacker until scoring many goals for Grêmio Lux during a Primeirona season, being one of the main responsible for his team's excellent campaign. Luizão is a striker who works well as a pivot or target man: doesn't run a lot, gets tired quickly, but is good at positioning himself and controlling the ball, so he can manage to stay with the ball even when the pass to him is bad, and attempt to score.
Rating: B – Team Relationship: B – Morale: B – Form: B
PLAYED WC 56

23- RENATO Fiesta Ulliel "CARNAVAL" (Team: São Longuinho)
Height: 162cm – Weight: 54kg – Age: 26 years old
One of the recent surprises of the Primeirona, Renato Carnaval helped his club to achieve a very good position at the tables and also a very good attack, with him as main player. Due to his importance, his club did not want to sell him, and managed to keep him in the club even though he wanted to leave. He is a lethal finisher with the feet, but due to his height isn’t very good in aerial balls. Also, loves to make jokes with the team mates, creating nicknames for them.
Rating: C – Team Relationship: B – Morale: C – Form: A

Staff:

Coach Number One: Henrique SILVEIRA

Player for A.F.F. in the best seasons the team had, when they won the Primeirona, and also a player for the National Team of Cafundéu in the gold era of the Monopolists, when the team was one of the top three ranked nations of the world and runner-ups of the World Cup, Henrique Silveira became a top coach. Differently than other Cafundelense coaches, Silveira prefers to have a more balanced approach at the game, giving more importance at intelligent defending and lethal counterattacks, probably because he was a defensive midfielder. A very respected person, is a coach who the critics and supporters won’t feel good in criticizing.

FORMER PLAYER FOR CAFUNDÉU

Administrative Manager: Director S. SANTOS
Height: 180cm – Weight: 89kg – Age: 74 years old
One of the directors of Banco Econômico, and the one who wasn’t involved with anything sports-related until getting this position. C.Pinguço is in the Han Empire, Santa is handling finances all around the world, I.Newton checking negotiations in Candelaria And Marquez, D.Lama in other leagues, J.Lennon checking for investment opportunities… Banco Econômico, member of the AUGECC, had to participate in the CCFM somewhere. And they managed to include one of their directors as the NT’s administrative manager, handling the non-football aspects of the team. Santos is friendly and loves to make jokes, and loves to spend money too! Sometimes he’ll throw away money, in the form of small airplanes made of a vintém note.
Rating: B - Team Relationship: B - Morale: A - Confidence: A

Spy/Scout: Kledir RAMALHO
Height: 168cm - Weight: 75kg – Age: 61 years old
During previous World Cup cycles, several rumours about the influence of the scouts and agents on the CCFM and transfers in general harmed the reputation of previous scout Mikklos Irvinz, who was asked to leave after the accusations that he was only recommending players that he managed as an agent. The replacement found by The Scout is the experienced Kledir Ramalho, who is considered part of the “old school” of scouts just like The Scout, and therefore someone not involved with agents. Ramalho is a very serious person, and likes to analyze his targets by using intrincate mathematical theories.
Rating: B - Team Relationship: B - Morale: B - Confidence: B

Physical Trainer: Renan AYALA
Height: 166cm - Weight: 63kg – Age: 58 years old
A genius in the physical training area, Ayala isn’t one who really stays close with the players when they are in the academy. Renan is more a consultant, someone who can easily spot the necessities of each player and what they need to do to improve they physical conditions. The training schedules made by Ayala can be completely trusted, and with his help the Monopolists will probably be in top conditions for the matches.
Rating: A - Team Relationship: B - Morale: B - Confidence: A

Entertainer: Sérgio MALLANDRO FILHO
Height: 171cm - Weight: 78kg – Age: 61 years old
When the CCFM replaced the whole staff of the Cafundelense NT, people believed that finally they would get rid of Serginho Mallandro. Big mistake. Serginho left, but in his place his son, Mallandro Filho, was called. He tells the same jokes his father did, and the same phrases and funny (or at least intended to be funny) comments, as the “Glu-glu” and “Bilu-bilu tetéia” ones. The majority of the population used to love him (before his jokes became repetitive), but the players of the National Team are likely to try to assault him after each of his jokes.

Doctor: DR. Luciane VARELA
Height: 171cm - Weight: 60kg – Age: 53 years old
Honestly, no one really gives much attention about who is the current doctor of the National Team, so surely few people noticed when Luciane Varela was announced as the new name of the Monopolists’ staff. She is a good doctor, and we are all sure that the CCFM hired someone who can do everything needed by a doctor involved with football, so no one will notice her much until she leaves the team.

Security Chief: Captain Chicão TROMBADA
Height: 169cm – Weight: 81kg – Age: 48 years old
Famous for invading studios of important television channels, and for being the coach of Sorthern Northland’s Sub-21 team in the Di Bradini Cup, the former inmate of the Landau Institute became a member of the Cafundelense army, for his determination in punish people. He loves football, and got this position after begging for a whole week... now the others will have to beg for his mercy.

The Directors:

President of the CCFM: Reinaldo FRANCO
Age: 58 years old – Time in the job: 5 years
Former administrative manager of the National Team, Reinaldo Franco was chosen to the position of Vice-President of the CCFM by The Scout, in a much contested decision, as the former Vice-President Baron Ainer wanted to keep his position. As time passed, he got a lot of experience, having to handle the main duties of the President when The Scout was away, such as in his short experience as a coach in World Cup 53. When The Scout was elected to become the WCC President, the position of CCFM leader went to Franco, and he is doing fine, without making many changes in the organization and without mistakes.
Rating: B - Influence: B - Morale: A - Confidence: A

Vice-President of the CCFM: Mariano De Iotte, COUNT of CACIES
Age: 53 years old - Time in the job: 4 years
When Franco took the position of President of the CCFM, businessman Roger Funes became the Vice-President. But shortly after he decided to abandon the position to dedicate himself exclusively to his businesses. Therefore, the Count of Cacies, a small region in the Dunboor state, was chosen by Franco to take over this position. Experienced in handling football issues as the former chief of the Dunboor State Association, he doesn’t have the confidence of many of the other members of the CCFM, due to some controversial attitudes made in the past.

Goalkeepers

1- LAURA Ranielli
Team: Acadêmica - Rating: A - Age: 25 years old
Playing for one of the teams with the largest fanbase in the Cafundelense Women's Division, which will probably start to slowly merge with the main league soon, Laura is a very trustworthy goalkeeper, and has been one of the main players of Cafundéu's team for a while. She is very competent and determinated, but somewhat suicidal. She works so hard that makes dangerous and risky moves many times. Luckily, she is good enough to hardly make a mistake even in those moves. When on vacation, Laura stays outside of the big cities and travels to the countryside, avoiding the media whenever possible.

12- MARCELLA Campos Mathias
Team: Clube Imperial - Rating: B - Age: 22 years old
Main rival of Laura for the prizes for goalkeepers in the league, Marcella's lack of experience led to she going to the bench in the National Team. But no one can deny she has a lot of talent, and sometimes can even start ahead of Luana in games, as it happened in the Summer Olympics. Marcella is far from eccentric or risky while playing, and plays safe, sometimes too safe.

22- Helena Genovo CASTRO
Team: São Longuinho - Rating: C - Age: 31 years old
A far more experienced player than the other goalkeepers, Castro is not at the talent level of the other two, but her years of experience put her as a good option in case a substitute is needed. As she know she probably won't play, she acts more outside the pitch, acting as a mentor for the younger players and keeping the team united with her jokes and games, something she loves to do.

Full-backs/Wingers - Right

2- BÁRBARA Yukine Assis
Team: Metropolitano - Rating: B - Age: 26 years old
One of the few exceptions, Bárbara wasn't a starter in the Summer Olympics, but a direct substitute. But, in the two years that have passed, Carlinha didn't manage to keep the good level of performance that sent her to the National Team in her club, Juventude, and lost her position to Bárbara. Probably the quickest player of this squad, Bárbara can support well the attack, one of the major reasons why Fernanda Garcia uses wingers instead of full-backs. With good crossing abilities, many chances can come from her. When she is not playing, Bárbara gets involved in many controversies involving betting, and her addicition has let to many critics.

14- Carolina Ferreira "CAROL" NEVES
Team: Clube Imperial - Rating: B - Age: 21 years old
Young talent of Cafundéu, Carol Neves impresses everyone with her fast development, and outstanding skills missed with a childish attitude. She is a great passer, with good vision of the game, surely a raw gem. On the other way, she constantly argues with the referee and other players, and can't stand critics. She will only become a top player when she manages to improve her attitude.

Full-backs/Wingers - Left

6- NATÁLIA Gonçalves Coltti
Team: Carandirú - Rating: A - Age: 20 years old
This intelligent player is the only representative of the Carandirú team, which is not a top one in the women's league of Cafundéu. Only recently she got her talent recognized by the experts, and most are predicting a phenomenal future for her. She is a quiet player, but very good in the tactical aspect of the game and in creating good moves for the team. Also, is a goot set pieces taker. Apart from playing football, Natália also still goes to college, but is still at the beginning of her Medicine course. It isn't certain if she will have to abandon college to play football.

16- AMANDA Jamelli BUENO
Team: Real de Tijhus - Rating: C - Age: 28 years old
Amanda was expecting to become a starter of the National Team after the long-term injury of Renatinha, the Olympic member. But the ascension of Natália as a key member of the Consumerists put Amanda on the bench. She is a fine all-around player, and that's her main flaw: she doesn't have a particular specialty, works well at every aspect of the game, but not at the level of world class players.

Central Defenders

3- ALINE de Carvalho MUNIA
Team: Acadêmica - Rating: B - Age: 32 years old
Oldest player of the squad, is surely the most experienced, devoting nearly her entire career to the National Team. A strong, sometimes violent player, Aline Munia is the defensive fortress of the team, defending Cafundéu from the opponent attackers. She isn't good in the technical abilities, so she hardly goes to the attack, even when the team is desperate to score a goal. Lately, her career has been plagued by injuries, and she is planning her retirement from football. Even being so tough in the game, she is very respectful to the opponents, a fair play example.

4- Beatriz Schmitt "BIA"
Team: Clube Imperial - Rating: A - Age: 25 years old
The leader and captain of the team, although the best player is considered to be Ana Paula. Bia is the most talented defensive player of the team, being able to leave defence in order to attempt offensive moves, and sometimes even dribble opponent attackers in a humiliating manner. Always smiling, Bia is a charismatic leader, but very demanding to her team mates. Her physical condition is at a peak level, so she may play all the games until their ends. She is also very friendly to the media and press, loving to give interviews and commenting about how things go with the squad.

5- GIOVANNA Stábile
Team: Atlético Central - Rating: B - Age: 27 years old
Stábile is the least famous of the three starting defenders, but a solid one. She hardly shine in a game receiving praise, but never does a bad job on the pitch. Tackles well, marks well, sometimes can even adventure herself in the attack, but this usually doesn't work well. Giovanna doesn't care much of her status in the team, she is glad to be just a starter, and has the confidence of the coach, which is more important.

13- DÉBORA Macedo Kavene
Team: Metropolitano - Rating: C - Age: 24 years old
One of the biggest problems of the current Cafundelense Women's National Team is that there aren't options at the level of the 3 starter central defenders in the reserve. This isn't to be offensive to the other players, just the truth. But Débora, even not being at the top level, is a competent defender, very defensive, who can fill a gap in the defence without any problems for the team.

20- Alessandra Fauver Low "ALÊ"
Team: Acadêmica - Rating: C - Age: 22 years old
Paulinha can be the first reserve option in the central defence, but it is Alê the real promising defender in this squad. Recently signed by Acadêmica, Alê is a short player, but impressively good at jumping and with the ball on her feet. Unexperienced, Alê is not ready for a World Cup, but may get some chances as long as she improves. Outside the pitch, loves to go to parties, which can be a problem when she drinks too much.

Defensive Midfielders

8- KELLY PAREDES Higienópolis
Team: Juventude - Rating: B - Age: 29 years old
A controversial decision to include in the National Team, as Kelly Paredes expressed her dislike of the CFFC methods. Excellent passer and one of the best tacklers of the squad, Kelly is a hard working player, the only one that is good enough for Garcia to field a single defensive midfielder in her formation. Her problems with the CFFC are due to the conditions of the women's league in Cafundéu, which receives less media exposure, something the condemns. She is one of the defenders of a merge between the two leagues in the country, and even of a merge between the CFFC and CCFM which, according to her, would be a way for the world to finally notice the Cafundelense female players.

15- REBECCA Volwmir Juremar
Team: São Longuinho - Rating: B - Age: 23 years old
Born in a foreign country, Rebecca has been living in Cafundéu since young age, and now is a full Cafundelense citizen. Having difficulties to create relationships with other people, her parents put her in a sports club where she would have contact with teachers, doctors and friends. And this not only helped her in personal life, but also in the professional one, as she grew up to become a good midfielder, captain of her team, and now a member of the National Team. Raised in a poor family, her life story became a popular propaganda tool to promote sports as a way of personal development.

18- FABIANA Rabelo
Team: América Jutense - Rating: C - Age: 24 years old
A player who was supposed to be a star of the Cafundelense team by now, but has failed to meet the expectations. A member of the squad since twenty years of age, has played for Clube Imperial but, after bad performances, returned to her first team. Even not being the player people expected her to be, she is still good enough to play for the National Team, although just as an option.

Offensive Midfielders

7- FERNANDA Silveira Caldas
Team: Acadêmica - Rating: A - Age: 27 years old
She divides the opinions of who is the best player of this team, even though most end preferring her friend and NT team mate. Fernanda is the more creative and technical player of the offensive duo. She is the dribbling genius of the squad, who has tons of fans duo to her beautiful moves. Her finishing isn't as good as her dribbling, but her individual players, when she dribbles many players in a row, can easily end with goals. Sometimes her opponents consider her dribbles as a way to humilliate them, but she does that only to have fun. Outside the pitch she frequently appears on tv shows to show her artistic talent with the ball.

11- ANA PAULA Freitas Gamma
Team: Clube Imperial - Rating: A - Age: 23 years old
The most complete player of the team, this girl makes a perfect duo with Fernanda in the National Team. She is a good dribbler too, not at the level of Fernanda, but her other qualities make people consider her a better player. She is very good at shooting, in any ranges, and manages to make offensive moves with ease. Another curious talent of Ana Paula is to score olympic goals. Her corner kicks aren't dangerous because of the crossing, but because they are aimed directly to the goal! She also impresses many people with her beauty, earning a lot of money by appearing in advertisements, but rejecting many proposals that use only her beauty, and not her fame as a footballer.

17- ISABELA Mariani
Team: Real de Tijhus - Rating: C - Age: 26 years old
A reserve in the Olympic squad who will continue being just a reserve in this team. Isabela is a good player, especially with her long ranged shots that can surprise even the most elastic of the goalkeepers, but there is no way she can compete with Fernanda and Ana Paula for a starting position. Now she will have to compete even against Sabrina to be the first choice substitute.

21- Maria SABRINA Álamo
Team: Clube Imperial - Rating: B - Age: 21 years old
Close friend of Ana Paula inside and outside the playing field, Sabrina has a humorous character, every getting herself into comical situations, and loving to make fun of others and of herself. As a football player, Sabrina is good in making the link between the defensive and the offensive midfield, and works well in holding the ball for a long time, being the best option for a defensive approach of the game.

Forwards

9- Daniela Britto Lopes "DANI"
Team: Clube Imperial - Rating: A - Age: 25 years old
The offensive midfielders may be the most praised players in the squad, but it's Dani the one who gives the Consumerists the most important thing in a football game: the goals. Taller than most players, Dani is good at heading, and her good positioning also gives her the condition to be always with good scoring chances. Her dribbling is only average, many other attackers are better, but her good positioning and finishing ability make the difference. The target woman inside the area, most of the offensive moves of Cafundéu will end with a Dani shot.

10- VANESSA Dourado Nascimento
Team: Juventude - Rating: A - Age: 26 years old
A better dribbler than Dani, Vanessa is the attacker who manages to take the ball deep in the midfield and use her speed to reach the attack through an individual play... and then pass the ball to Dani. Vanessa scores far less goals, but is very important too. But she has a major flaw: her form is very inconsistent. One day she plays very well, the other day she makes plenty of mistakes... but even with this problem she is a trusted player of the squad. Ah, there is another flaw: Vanessa gets angry with ease, and can collect some cards during the competition.

19- ANA CLARA Vergara
Team: Acadêmica - Rating: B - Age: 19 years old
The true future star of this team, Ana Clara is the one who everyone wants to see playing in this Women's World Cup, just to see if all the hype around her is fair or not. Ana Clara is supposed to be a complete striker, but has played only a single full season so far. Due to her popularity in the media, she is a very loved person by the fans, and there is a huge pressure over her. When Vanessa underperforms, it is likely that Ana Clara will receive a chance. A curiosity about her is her strange fashion taste, which is... well, strange.

23- JÚLIA Panete PEREIRA
Team: Metropolitano - Rating: C - Age: 30 years old
The "Panther", as she was usually called during her peak, had better days in her career, but is still a capable player and a good option for this team. Experienced, Júlia Pereira knows the shortcuts of the field, and when the game seems too tough, she may feature, as in such a game Ana Clara would underperform. But Júlia's physical condition is poor right now, so she won't be able to play for many minutes.

Staff

Coach - Fernanda Garcia
Age: 55 years old
She is a former player of the Cafundelense Women's National Team, during its best ages, and participated in the title campaign of WWC11. So, she has the experience and knowledge of the competition necessary to lead this team. She also has experience inside both the CFFC and CCFM, helping youth projects and even being part of director councils of important Cafundelense teams. As a coach, she is offensive, but prefers to adapt her style to the players available for use, and not the opposite as happens with some coaches in the world.

Assistant - Jacqueline Ruiz
Age: 41 years old
Jacqueline is the one who will take care of the physical training of the players, but she also has knowledge of tactics and rules, enough to give a lot of help to Fernanda. But she'll only support her boss.

Line-up: Laura; Aline Munia, Bia and Giovanna; Bárbara, Natália, Kelly Paredes, Fernanda and Ana Paula; Dani and Vanessa.

THE FOOTBALL TEAM OF ZONA AZUL, REPRESENTATIVES OF THE COMPANY

In this world, there is a place where the cars, ships, planes and space vehicles can safely land and make it possible the arrival and departure of passengers and other people from several places. It is a blue airport, with a very bright blue colour which makes it possible for the pilots to easily notice it and find where they can land. After all, several spaceships can land at the same moment, and therefore they must find some space. This can get a bit difficult to organize, and due to this a company took control of the spaceport, which doesn't belong to any country or planet. It is a group called Zona Azul, which has its name due to the colour of the place they own. With a team composed by valets, flight controllers and some bureaucrats, who charge the pilots and their passengers for the use of the Zona Azul spaceport, they are able to bring full control and peace in a place where several cultures and races clash, since it is an important stop for several civilizations. Their efficiency granted them many resources, and finally they could expand their activities, becoming a chain. After centuries, the owner of a small franchise heard about the NationStates World Cup, and as a football lover has decided to form a squad representing the Zona Azul company to compete.

Calling for help of richer owners of Zona Azul franchises and the CEO of the company, finally he could receive enough funding for his plan. But, who would be the members of the squad? After all, Zona Azul is simply a group of spaceports dedicated to living beings from all possible places. The first idea was to use the staff of the spaceports, but with the right amount of money they were able to convert some better footballers in order to strengthen the squad, paying them to register themselves as members of the Zona Azul staff and, since the spaceports are located in areas which do not belong to any nation, they would then be considered citizens of the company. More than that, some eccentric users of the spaceports asked to be included in the squad, paying in exchange for being part of the team going to play in the World Cup. This provided enough funding for the transportation of the squad and other necessary costs. With this, the Zona Azul squad built is a mixture of all kinds of races one can find, all with some knowledge of football or some associated sport, since in several civilizations football as we know does not exist.

So, the list of the squad members with all the necessary information (team number, name, position, occupation, species characteristics, and other bio data):

Goalkeepers:

1- Iussni Y'Gohlrodt
The search to find the ideal goalkeeper is one difficult to complete with perfection, since some shots are really unstopabble... some humans claim that the perfect goalkeeper should have more than two arms... so, what if we take a member of a species who has twelve arms? That's right, Iussni Y'Gohlrodt has much more arms than the people you use to see on the streets, and is as tall as human goalkeepers. He has only three legs, however. Didn't have much experience in football, but was trained hard by the company and is expected to be one of the key players of the squad. It is important to point out that he has more strength in four of his twelve arms, so he prefers to use them. Also, the female fans of the Zona Azul squad consider him to be the most attractive member of the team, as he is very fashionable and good-looking. So, became one of the most requested players for autographs.
Species characteristics: twelve arms, being four of them stronger than usual; three legs, the middle one having only three toes; tall as a human and with body characteristics also similar.
Occupation: Executive secretary for the company, having to handle multiple tasks.

12- Adam Ubant
When you cannot have someone with several arms, you can always find someone big enough to give less shooting space for the striker. Ubant is extremely obese and tall, with 2,88m of height. However, he is slow and sometimes violent with the opponent, likely to commit penalties. So, even though he has good football knowledge and has practiced the sport a lot, he is on the bench. Also, his physical conditions aren't the best.
Species characteristics: 2,88m tall, close to 500kg of weight; absence of hair on the entire body; body similar to human's; skin colour is dark but like human's too.
Occupation: unemployed.

22- Hi Ijp Mabk
This female individual comes from a species with a jelly-like body, which body can easily deflect the trajectory of the ball when it is hit. Also, Hi Ijp Mabk is very flexible... well, this could be expected, and also very fast, able to mold parts of her body to reach considerable distances, moving herself and getting the ball when needed. Hi Ijp Mabk also had a child recently, so is recovering from the experience.
Species characteristics: jelly-like body, which doesn't resemble the human body, looking more like a pile of something, a mass without a determined form; dark green colour.
Occupation: primary teacher.

Full-backs:

2- Sievert Sazzavv
It is all about speed in the counterattack strategy of the Zona Azul team, and the full-backs are the quickest players available. Sazzavv himself can run at impressive speeds, and can be faster than a sports car, but in that speed he is unable to control the ball at all... however, he can still be faster than the human players and keep the ball with him, and his speed makes it easy for him to position himself somewhere on the pitch or to return to the defence after a failed offensive move. He understands football well, but is much better in offensive duties. Also, Sazzavv has wings and can fly, which makes him a good option for heading crosses, for both offence and defence. His weakness is that... he is weak, so he isn't good at shooting or tackling. He is also very talkative, although few will understand his language, and likes to play with his opponents, confusing them with his speed.
Species characteristics: long wings, body similar to the ones of huge birds; head is square, with a huge mouth; multi-coloured, and can change his colours.
Occupation: royal messenger.

6- Ob
The most enigmatic player of the squad, one can question whether this is really a rational being. It doesn't speak, but it seems to understand orders and therefore play football, but in a somewhat mechanical way, like if it was some computer program or like it follows the commands of another mind. It has the form of a huge teardrop, and can jump at long distances, controlling the ball with the wider area of its body. The narrow part of the body can be retreated to the wider part, making it look like a ball when resting. Ob is fast an excellent in dribbling and making clean tackles, since it is small enough to appear unnoticed. Studies are being performed in order to discover if it is the only one of its species, or if it is some genetic creation of a space scientist. However, the whole team likes Ob, treating it as the pet and mascot of the entire squad.
Species characteristics: light silver coloured; has the form of a ball with a long tail, which resembles a teardrop; no mouth, arms, legs or any other visible body structure.
Occupation: none.

14- Gilraen Anárion
Elves are pretty common in the World Cup already, so the presence of this female elf from a far away planet is no surprise. However, she is one of the millionaires who paid for their presence in the National Team, helping with the funding of the Zona Azul squad. She is talented, but does not possess the peculiar characteristics most of the starters have. However, she is very intelligent, and with a great tactical knowledge.
Species characteristics: she is an elf.
Occupation: owner of a pizza delivery chain.

16- Jidmund Popoopplop
He can see farther and better than any other member in the squad, but this doesn't mean that he plays better football due to this. Anyway, he is a good flight controller for the Zona Azul company, and received this place in the squad as an award. With an oval body and thousands of eyes, some on the body and some linked by long but thin pieces of flesh, surely he is a curious being to see... but don't forget that his vision is far better!
Species characteristics: pink oval body; small mouth, and body covered by thousands of small eyes, with three bigger eyes on the centre; other small eyes outside the main body.
Occupation: flight controller for the company.

Central Defenders:

3- Aux Ditryx
One of the professional footballers hired to represent the Zona Azul company in the World Cup, Ditryx is truly a terror for its opponents, especially if we consider that she tends to feed herself with several of other species which play the competition. But don't worry: she has a personal stock of slaves captured exactly to be eaten, and will be able to control her hunger during the matches, not harming any other being, unless it happens during the game in a normal move. Extremely talented in defending and then making long passes, she will perform the most defensive duty in the squad. Before every match she will perform her war cry after eating her lunch, and it will be an extremely irritating noise likely to perturb the most sensitive, which includes some members of this own squad. Not the best one to help for a positive team harmony, since everyone else fears Aux.
Species characteristics: eats humans, but will have her hunder controlled for the matches; long body, arms and legs; colour and head similar to the Alien's.
Occupation: army captain for her race.

4- Marvin Varginha
A Martian! Of course such a talented species couldn't have been forgotten in this squad. He is a member of the hollywood species of Mars, since there are tons of Martian races. His appearance is the dream of every B-side science fiction movie director: green, huge eyes, body organs appearing through the semi-transparent flesh... some may even mistake him for someone wearing a costume, but he is real! Well, about his footballing abilities, he is very talented in controlling the ball and marking his opponents, but gets easily tired. People in Mars are usually very lazy, and Marvin is not an exception: will be likely to complain and ask to be substituted if things started to be too tiring. Ah... people in Mars love to complain about things... so, he can also get into trouble with the referee, and since he is able to speak several human languages, he can easily speak things that wouldn't be nice...
Species characteristics: green colour; tall, thin; three fingers on each hand; huge black eyes; two antennas; inside organs are visible.
Occupation: heavy worker in space constructions.

13- Dottbri-Ulaq
Half-man-half-scorpion, the members of Dottbri-Ulaq's species are ferocious warriors and with a huge determination, being perfect to become dedicated defenders in a football squad. Very intelligent, Dottbri-Ulaq was able to easily learn how to play football to join the squad, and can become a very important member of the team, as it is likely that Varginha won't play the full ninety minutes of some matches.
Species characteristics: upper body is of a human; lower body is of a scorpion; orange colour.
Occupation: economist.

21- Petrus Neander
Came from a distant place in order to find a work in a Zona Azul spaceport as a member of the gas station's staff. He is a humble person, whose species closely resembles some of the earlier human species. Not very intelligent, he compensates this with his strength, after several years of workouts, and on a football field works more as a guardian for the defence, using his physical advantage to defeat the opponent attackers.
Species characteristics: similar to homo habilis, but a strong individual.
Occupation: works in a gas station.

Defensive Midfielders:

5- Ergmax Linda Prlnin
This female individual is another of the most loved players of the squad by the fans. This is because she, for most of the existant species, is seen as extremely beautiful, with her appearance being considered as hypnotic and magnetic for many, who simply can't resist her. And this is not just a myth. There are some species that really get hynotized by people like Prlnin, being unable to challenge her. Her wings and short tail make people of some cultures think of her as an angel or a demon, but she is just someone from another planet. Although she has wings, can't fly well, and performs much better running. Plays without using any kind of shoes, and with minimal clothes. She needs a daily dose of blood to keep her full energy, but this blood can come from any species with warm blood. In general, is a lovely person with a good heart, and likes to help other people in need.
Species characteristics: similar to a female human, but with a short tail and fragile wings; a single horn that can has its size changed at will; extremely long hair.
Occupation: actress.

8- Fagnd Biafra
This one is ugly, but a fine football player. Vegetarian, his appearance make people believe that he is menacing, but he comes from a peaceful civilization. There was a time when he had some limited success as a singer, and was able to live thanks to the money won in the artistic career. But nowadays is remembered only thanks to a single music, and works as a car salesman. Since he always loved football and played it for a hobby, became a natural choice for the Zona Azul squad, and he saw this as an opportunity to win some extra money. He is not very fast, but has some impressive ball control and technique, and will be one of the creative minds of the squad. Another of his weak points is that his body isn't as strong as it used to be, due to his advanced age: therefore, he is more prone to injuries than any other member of the team, and can be rested in some matches.
Species characteristics: pale white skin; long tongue, which stays out of the mouth all the time; several horns, deep blue eyes; four arms and four legs, two of each smaller.
Occupation: car salesman.

15- Rdbnmks Tzdfghjmn
You can speak his name anyway you want. After all, this isn't even the correct way to write it, since his nation uses some different alphabet, of which is difficult to understand. Tzdfghjmn looks like a giant wasp with three heads, each of them with independent thoughts and desires. This makes the life of this person extremely difficult, since sometimes there are even arguments between the heads.
Species characteristics: a giant wasp with three different heads.
Occupation: liquor producer.

20- Eun
This fairy-like male individual is very intelligent and good at controlling the ball. But, since he is smaller than the ball, he can only send it forward or intercept it by using some kind of paranormal force, in which he can apply strength at the ball from distance. However, he has to be close enough to the ball in order to perform this movement, which completely destroys the great advantage he would have with this ability.
Species characteristics: fairy-like.
Occupation: general manager of a Zona Azul spaceport.

Offensive Midfielders:

7- Po'ud K-M'il
This one hasn't been paid due for being a very talented player, and also hasn't paid to be part of the squad... he threatened the team organizers to participate. Coming from one of the most dangerous civilizations still existing, his supernatural abilities are what people from places where it is uncommon call magic. He can summon fire, water, animals, and usually use these talents to induce harm to other people. However, as an agreement made with the Zona Azul managers, he promised to not do harm to any opponent and to respect them, in exchange to becoming a starter. And, surprisingly, he showed talent enough with the ball in order to be seen as a key player. He hides his face, so no one can see very well how he looks like, and seems to be always levitating. He doesn't participate in the team trainings, going to the pitch only minutes before the beginning of the match.
Species characteristics: wears a robe that fully conceals his body; if seen, it looks rotten, with bones and blood visible, similar to a badly wounded zombie.
Occupation: mafia leader.

10- Misswahss Eçañes
Another hired footballer for the squad, with impressive speed and talent in controlling the ball and performing strong and accurate shots. Eçañes comes from an isolationist civilization, and became an enemy of her clan after leaving it to pursue her dream of travelling all around everything that exists. Her leg, which looks exactly like a wheel, supports a long and black body, with a huge head filled with menacing teeth. Curiously, her two arms are very small and she doesn't use them very much, preferring to handle things with her body, much flexible. Even though she had a lot of future as a professional footballer, she abandoned the career in exchange for a life in the arts career, and only accepted the offer of the Zona Azul company due to the fact that this will allow her to meet new places and people. Very kind, if you can understand her language.
Species characteristics: body similar to a snake's; a single big wheel as her leg; head with several teeth; black colour.
Occupation: travel photographer.

17- A872HD
Of a hermafrodite species, A872HD's body is composed by a cirular centre surrounded by tails, which work to give him movement by moving like in steps. However, for playing football he uses a mechanical body, which allow him to control better the ball. This species is extremely rational, and prefers to follow strict strategies and tactics. When not playing, is the right-hand of the coach, helping to see the best way to improve the team.
Species characteristics: uses a mechanical body to play.
Occupation: engineer.

18- Tarmac Folwick
Can hibernate for centuries, only waking up when there is something useful to do, such as to play football in an important competition. When sleeping, Folwick and the others of his species tend to stay standing up on gardens and other places. Yes, that is right, he is a gnome, and one of the race that usually decorate the gardens of human residences. But don't let it fool you, he can play some quality football.
Species characteristics: he is a gnome.
Occupation: garden gnome.

Strikers:

9- B'dim Gbxiinefralpn Hromdzitklecvau
The most talented member of the squad, is the huge salary of the squad by an enormous distance. Hromdzitklecvau's career as a footballer is a complete one, winning many prizes in several planets. He is a specialist in precise finishes, being able to send the ball to exact places with his shots. So, he is the main target man of the team inside the area, even though he plays for the team and won't feel bad in giving an assistance to a team mate. His body is completely formed by geometric forms, without a single curve line in the full body. Therefore, his extremities are pointed, and one time or another they can pierce the ball, delaying the game. He has just overcame a serious depression, due to the fact that his home planet cannot sustain life anymore, but with the help of his family, which has moved with him to another place, he is getting the motivation back.
Species characteristics: body formed by geometrical forms, light blue colour.
Occupation: professional footballer.

10- Neco Miller
The single human of the squad, Miller entered in the squad thanks to a bias of the team's organizer, the owner of the small Zona Azul franchise who first got to know about the World Cup. Since he is human, he also wanted to have one of his species in the squad, and Miller was the selected one due to having reasonable talent with the ball. Yes, he is a good footballer who could even play for some other nations if possible, so won't destroy the team's potential. Also, due to his condition as the preferred player of the team's owner, he is the captain of the squad, but in truth no one obeys him. He enjoys holding the ball, and can be precious to waste time when possible. Also, due to have seen all kinds of people and incidents in his life, he can easily handle the pressure of playing important matches or provocations of the opponents. Miller is short, but compensates this with technique.
Species characteristics: he is a human.
Occupation: television presenter.

19- The Unity
Composed by several small parts, The Unity is in fact a single being. Several other living beings, similar to small insects but extremely different from each other in form, colour or any other characteristic apart from the small size, get united in order to form a bigger being, which can adapt itself to any form... and when we say any form, we really mean it. The Unity can take the form of a human, a weapon... anything.
Species characteristics: union of other small beings, can take any possible form, in order to achieve different objectives.
Occupation: a professional criminal.

23- Dri Icomprile
The sentient and rational keyboard is a member of one of the most respected species that exist, known for their ability in music, being able to compose some of the most touching songs ever. Icomprile composed the anthem of Zona Azul, and in exchange asked to be included in the squad, as she has some ability. Since she really has the exact form of a keyboard, no one really knows where her face is, but she can communicate.
Species characteristics: she is a sentient keyboard, the instrument.
Occupation: music composer.

Coach: Telescreen
Although many see it as a computer program which knows the correct tactics that the team should use after analyzing the opponent, the Telescreen is in fact the engineered representative of a huge council of football experts, who discuss what to do with the team and then transfer these informations to the telescreen. However, it is slowly getting independent, as it was created to evolve and start thinking by itself.

Assistant: Crystal Kavanagh
She is the daughter and heir of the owner of the Zona Azul franchise who decided to create the squad. She doesn't know much of football, but was sent by her father in order to keep an eye on the team and to not bother him with other issues. She is very smart, and is looking to learn as much as she can from the World Cup experience, in order to perhaps became a professional coach or a player.
