I've placed my RP in there, but the Olympiad's taken over my RP focuses so it's well below what I'm capable of.

Paradystopia, I hope you enjoy my overdramatic preview of our game :p

Best of luck to all four nations playing tonight

EDIT: Disappointed to end up 2nd again, but it was a fun ride. A big thank you to The Sarian for a well-hosted event.

Just saw this post.

Since lacrosse is becoming an increasingly prevalent sport in Cosumar, I would definitely participate. I could even help run it if needed.

Medal Table updated
Championship Table updated

Well Cosumar is right now the only one to have made two title game appearances yet still waiting to win it. The next sign-ups should be up around mid-November so we have a chance at beating Christmas. Trying to place the new sign-ups at a 2 1/2 month time span.

Among all the active mid/major sporting competitions the World Lacrosse Championships is the only one that has never had a repeat champion.

So, with Anditia on the brink of CTEing, I took it upon myself to create some new WLC rankings. These use a modified version of the old forumla, explained below:

For each of the last three WLC's, a nations rank is calculated by number of group stage wins*2x number of playoff wins/total number of game in that tournament. Draws in the group stage are counted as 0.5 of a win, but in the knockouts overtime victories count the same as any other playoff win. The third place match counts as 0.5 of a playoff win (which is equivalent to a group win)

So without further adoodoo, the ranks!

No need to apologize the WLC for a long time has never been very organized. But every one can look forward to November 12 to the next sign-up thread for the 20th WLC, this way we'd be able to beat Christmas and set the cycle at around 2.5 months between each edition.

I'd hope not, otherwise we'll run right through WCQ and nobody will RP.

I think a good time to open sign-ups would be at the halfway point of Qualifying. That way, by the time the WLC actually starts, most people would be done with the WC.

(posting with my puppet)

Actually if you look at the past three-four WLC the sign-ups are posted at the start of the WC and by the time the edition starts the WC proper is getting underway, and this way we'd be able to beat Christmas. Last month I did say expect sign-ups to be around Nov. 15 2 1/2 months after the last edition ended, like I mentioned just so we can beat X-mas. After this edition it will be on a three month bias after each last edition has ended.

Not at the start of the WC, they're usually during WCQ. The WCQ will start about a week from today, and last about three weeks. Unless the signups are open for a month (which they will have to be if I bid to host, since I don't want to overlap qualifying), then we'll be going before the WC proper.

The one thing though we're nearing Thanksgiving which most people though will be gone for a day or two and overall activity would drop for that short time. We're only two days into the sign-ups better now then two-three weeks from now then we'd run into Christmas. Better to get it over with before the fat man comes down the chimney.

Cutoff will be a little late tonight due to an unforeseen circumstance popping up for me. It won't be any more than a two hour delay, max.

I've been considering some ranking changes to make them fairer, so unless anyone has any objections, I will make it so that the last three WLCs are weighted 4:2:1 in the ranks, with the most recent first.

I will need a 3rd party scorinator for games played by Cosumar in the knockout round. Preferably someone who can keep the existing cutoff time and has some sort of hosting experience.

Any volunteers?
