Onto the next thousand posts in this thread!!

Housekeeping--

Please let me introduce our new WLC Vice President, The Cordian Isles!! After a lengthy contract discussion, he has agreed to become the second ever VP of our group. I know everyone will welcome him warmly.

We are now exchanging notes about when to open the signups for WLC 41, so expect an announcement on that in the near future.

We don't usually worry too much about stuff like this, but ICly, the Chairwoman of the BPLA, Dawn Thornton is the WLC President, if you ever need to reference that.

There may be an AOLC in the near future, but I am not able to report that as a fact, only what I've heard.

Peace Out and Baba Booey to you all

Would definitely join and RP an AOCL (or whatever).

More importantly, congrats to the Prez and VP. It is an exciting time for the sport and I'm sure this cycle will be a blast on NS as well

Attention!! Message from the desk of The President:

Following a historic Summit Meeting between nations from Atlantian Oceania, Anaia, and Sonnel, an agreement in principle was reached on the terms of the Treaty of Izzy's Deli; additionally, several secondary agreements were negotiated among various parties, including the purpose of this announcement.

Baker Park was able to come to an agreement with the nation of Cosumar on the Lacrosse Protocols, with the World Lacrosse Council obtaining access to the previously dormant functions of World Lacrosse Championships and the archival repository therein.

It will undergo a refurbishment for use by all WLC members and will feature more prominently in communications in the future.

Appreciation goes to our former WLC President for the offer of this important resource and piece of history.

Post WLC 41 address:
Congratulations to our Champion, Banija. You overcame your nemeses and captured the first ever title for the Kingdom.

Commiserations for the runners-up from Delaclava, who swept through the competition before falling short.

Thanks to Cass for once again hosting our jamboree, even though it was a bit light on participation this time.

Sending good thoughts to our former Champ Sarzonia, who was unfortunately unable to properly defend his winning streak and consecutive title run. Hope you are on the mend and will be back for the next tourney.

I'd guess that it will probably be after the first of the year until we crank the machine back up; as always we'll see what the post WC schedule looks like to find suitable dates.

Official WLC 42 Rankings

I'm very excited and truly over the moon about finally having gotten through to climbing the mountain for this tournament- obviously we can check my work here.

Two notes regarding the rankings.

#1 I usually only leave the show your work for the most recent tournament in the sheet. Since, really, there's no need to limit the show your work to the most recent tournament, I've left the last two in there, and starting WLC 43, I'll make sure to leave the Show your work sheet for all tourneys in the rankings (aka, the most recent 3).

#2 Quite rarely, this tournament did not have a play-in round for the Quarterfinals. Usually, there are some sort of KO points available before the QFs. I just did the rankings as normal, but that means this tournament has slightly fewer points (0.2 per team, to be specific) possible than compared with other tournaments. If people think we should give a 'getting out of group stage bonus' as a one-time thing to make up for the fact that there was no Round of 16/Round of 12 to earn points in(that would be equivalent to a Ro16 win), then I will adjust the rankings and give it.

If people don't(or say nothing), then I'll leave the rankings as is.

I have no issue with leaving the rankings as they are (although I lost a spot despite finishing fourth! :eyebrow: ).
I don't think, at a glance, that it would change anything dramatically.

Congratulations to Banija on finally getting that long awaited championship of theirs. Commiserations to Delaclava for coming so close only to fall again at the final hurdle for a second time, and commiserations to Baker Park as well for losing against me for the bronze medal once again.

As for the rankings, I don't really understand what goes on with those numbers so I'm happy for whatever works to stay because why fix what ain't broke and all that.

a few thoughts on why, how and when:

In consultation His Excellency, The Vice President The Cordian Isles, the decision was made to try and squeeze this tourney in relatively concurrent with the BOF.
I have an itch to host again, but really I also have in mind to host the U18. So if someone really has their heart set on this, say so in the signup or TG me.

I've added a few things to the WLC nation factbooks, the medal table is the one item that needs brought up to current; and, I noted a few things in the constitution that could use cleaning up.

Possible Amendments/open to discussion yes or no.

1) puppets. Have we ever encountered/needed to discuss this? I think we could simply state that a user can enter one puppet if there is a specific need for numbers determined by the host.
2) My paragraph about signups being open to any team of single gender, mixed gender, etc...added to clarify? Along with the mentioning of what rules code is used...
3) cosmetic word or wording changes. 'User' instead of 'person'...I would make specific editorial suggestions.

I also realized I needed to edit the signature, and I left the Friendly Thread link, although there's been no posts in it for 2 years. The DT link will bring you to the top of this page--1000th post mention I made in July, and the link to the rankings updated. (and also linked in the factbook section).

How was your second working day of the year? :p
