SIGN-UP THREAD
"We thank to all the participating Olympic Committees involved in the Olympic Games, and are honoured to be selected as the hosts of this event. With the voting process now over, we can begin with the next steps of the preparations for the Summer Olympics, which will happen in the city of Lasft. Already famous for football, being one of the headquarters of UICA and the location of the Obelisco Monumental, venue of three World Cup finals, it is time for this metropolis to become the center of worldwide football, at least for a while. And, if you are not coming only for the sports, you can also enjoy all the pleasure that our beaches and commercial centers can offer, and do not forget the nightlife! But, before planning your travel, taking all the necessary money from your bank accounts and buying dictionaries, please publish your list of athletes, accordingly to the rules we'll state. The delegation entry is the first and most important point that guarantees your participation in the Olympics." - Marcos Gusmão Mentor, COC President
RPs and rosters aren't to be posted here, please. They will have their own threads
How to sign-up:
Copy and paste the list of events which is at the bottom of this post. Under each event name, just add the names of the athletes that you wish to participate in that event . Of course, if you don’t wish to have athletes participating in a specific event, just remove the event from your final list. The maximum number of competitors is specified in parentheses after each event, you can send less athletes than the number in parentheses, but not more. When making your sign-up list, there are events that ask just for “teams” without specifying the number of athletes, as Indoor Volleyball. On those, you must not write the names of the athletes in the sign-up list, just put the skill modifier of the team. There is a roster thread in order to add the names of players of team sports and add any other IC information that you find useful, as the flag-bearer, anthem and other stuff that aren’t part of the sign-up process. For all other events, including those which involve teams with a specified number of athletes, you have to add names. You can also add your nation’s three letter code in your sign-up thread, but I’ll create one for you if you doesn’t put this info.
With all the information, post it in this thread the finished list.
There is no point of you making a “provisional sign-up” here or just posting stating that you are intending to participate without having a list of athletes in the same post... that won't make any difference in the end, you'll just fill the thread with unnecessary posts. If you miss the deadline and didn’t post a list of athletes, your provisional sign-up means nothing and you won’t participate. And please, much less reserving a post for your list! Please not! I intend to be adding the participants to the scorinator while the sign-ups are open, so don’t reserve posts. More than this, if you have already posted your list but wish to make changes or corrections in it, please do this in a different post, stating to me the changes of names, events and skill modifiers. You can make any necessary modifications until the closing of the sign-up process.
Entries and limits
The limit of entries for these Olympic Games is of 500 entries. An entry consists of a team or individual participating in one event. An athlete who participates in 3 events will be counted as three entries, at the same way a full team participating in a single event is counted as one entry. Puppets nations are allowed, but with the limit of one, and please state its master nation.
Skill modifiers
You can put the skill modifier of your athletes, by adding a number (it must be just after the name of your athlete or team, and preferably in parenthesis). The skill modifiers are from 0 to 1, from the lowest to highest. 0 probably means the athlete (or team) was called (or organized) without having any proper training or preparation, he maybe doesn’t even know the sport well! A 1 means that the player is part of an elite group of athletes for the event. So, you can input any number between 0 and 1 (but no more than two decimal numbers), as for example 0.6 or 0.45. Skill modifiers refer to a single entry, and not to a person or a sport. This means that a full Handball team, for example, has a single skill modifier, at the same time that an athlete competing in multiple events can have one different modifier for each event.
But please note the following: the average of all the skill modifiers in your delegation cannot be more than 0.5, although it can be lower than it. Any list in which the average of skill modifiers end being higher than 0.5 will have its skill modifiers reduced until it meets the 0.5 limit, and you'll be warned of this via TG. And, finally, entries without a skill modifier will have it set to a default modifier of 0.5.
Deadline and Schedule
Sign-ups are open in this thread until the 7th of August, at 23:59 UTC time. So, post your delegations before this date. Sign-ups posted after this deadline probably won’t be accepted.
The RP thread will be created approximately one week before the end of sign-ups.
The initial target for the start of the games is on the 13th of August with an opening ceremony happening one day before, but this is still not certain. The true date of the beginning of the games will be announced together with the schedule, after the closing of the sign-ups.
Demonstration events
Demonstration events will be held if there are enough competitors. If you want to nominate one, follow these rules, which are a copy of CH’s ones of the 4th Summer Olympics about demonstration events with small writing changes:
Why the sport must be considered a "summer sport". Please explain why this sport fits with the overall idea of the Olympic Games, and wouldn't be more suitable for the Winter Olympic or another multi-sport event.
A list of events within the sport. This may involve a split into men’s and women’s events, a series of distances, or whatever similar categorization is relevant to the sport. Some or all of these events may be consolidated if interest levels are not sufficient to sustain every possible event; you should specify if there are any events that are sufficiently dissimilar that their entrants cannot be funneled into a single event.
A set of results for the sport that can be used to set up the scorinator for it. If the sport is fictitious, either a set of fictitious results will be needed, or a statement that the results are similar enough to some other sport that the same scorination parameters can be used. If results differ for each event within the sport, this requirement must be satisfied for each event. Or, even better, an easily comprehensible and complete process for generating scores for the events.
A brief explanation of the competition format that should be used. This can take the form of a reference to a real-life competition (a link to information should be provided unless the format follows that of an Olympic event), or a detailed explanation if the sport requires some unique format.
The maximum number of individuals or teams that each nation can enter in each event, and, for team events, the size of the team (be reasonable in this one – preferably a max of 3 entries per event).
A list of all demonstration sports that have been adequately specified will be kept at the end of this post for convenience, though it may not always be updated. You can (and should) enter athletes in demonstration events at any time, regardless of whether the event has been officially noted or confirmed—the entries will simply be disregarded if the event is not held. In principle, demonstration events adequately specified will be held if at least eight nations have entered.

Of course, you don’t need to post exactly this way, but this is a good example:

In this example you can notice the basic rules: each line in it represents one entry, as it represents one participant person or team in an event. Skill modifiers are the numbers in parenthesis after the names, and the average of all these entries is 0.5.
Notice also that in Volleyball the names of the players aren’t there, as these are input in the roster thread. But, at the same time, the names of the Fencing teams are. This is because the Volleyball events don’t specify a number of athletes per team, while Fencing does.
Notice also that this entry has put the maximum number of athletes available in the Equestrian - Dressage event, and therefore is also participating in the team event too. The same thing happens with Gymnastics, for example.
THE LIST OF EVENTS:
The list of events follows the official list of the RL 2012 Summer Olympics, as seen in the Olympic Charter, with just some minor changes coming from the extended list.

Scorination:
The Olympic Games are scorinated, at least in this case, with a program made by Commerce Heights, which was used in the most recent games too. The results are random, being influenced only by the skill modifiers and the RP bonus, awarded to the teams that RP in the RP thread, which will be open later. The Olympics also have a discussion thread for... discussion, and it'd preferable that any doubts be posted there, and I'll answer them as soon as I can.
