2nd Saugeais Baseball Tournament Everything thread

Postby Saugeais » Fri May 13, 2011 9:54 pm

Hello again, baseball fans! Welcome to the 2nd Saugeais Open Baseball Tournament!

-First order of business, place you rosters, uniforms, etc. in your opening post. Feel free to post an inital RP as well. Don't forget to set your style mod and permissions too. Set your play style modifier between +5 (most offensive/batting) and -5 (most pitching/defensive).

Choose my runscorers: Y/N
Choose my lineup: Y/N
Follow my Pitching Rotation: Y/N
Godmod scoring events: Y/N
RP injuries to my players: Y/N
Godmod injuries to my players:Y/N

-Secondly, I will draw everyone with random lots. Saugeais, being the hosts of this tournament, will take the #1 spot. Civil Citizenry, being the past champion, automatically receives position #2. I will have a random number generator decide who will be numbered from 3 to 22.
The top 10 seeds have an automatic bye, while the bottom 12 will face off in a "play-in series" to whittle the group to an even 16. From there, standard tournament format will follow for the rest of the way.

-Thirdly, the designated hitter WILL be used in this tournament. So set your rosters accordingly.

-The previous signup thread will now become the general discussion thread. If you have any questions, please ask them there and I will get to them as soon as I can.
General Discussion thread: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=109237

-And finally, I will begin scorination for the tournament on Monday, May 16th. All scorination will take place at 7pm CST. I will make a schedule and post it in the next post ASAP.

I was about to RP when I was logged out, so I did RP, but when I submitted the stupid scripting logged me out and I lost everything, so I won't be RPing this round, just letting you know. Which in turn will probably knock me out, but I CBF spending another hour writing a damn RP when it just logs me out!

Many apologies for the total lack of RP, I have been pretty busy!
There's a breathless hush in the Close to-night
Ten to make and the match to win
A bumping pitch and a blinding light,
An hour to play, and the last man in.
And it's not for the sake of a ribboned coat.
Or the selfish hope of a season's fame,
But his captain's hand on his shoulder smote
"Play up! Play up! And play the game!"

Lycrabon, following a strong third-place finish last tournament, fell 3-2 last night to Cheknoyra. Darrell Lane wasted a strong effort from Tom Benson, allowing a ninth-inning two-run homer to set the final. The Jays opened the scoring via a sacrifice fly from Sam Daniels, scoring Jeremy Kramer who had just hit a triple. Cheknoyra responded with a run in the fourth to tie it. Lycrabon wasted a two-on, no-out chance in the third with a line-out, strikeout, flyout. Sean McCormick ended Lycrabon's scoring with a solo homer in the sixth. Jeremy Kramer hit his second triple in the ninth, but the Jays couldn't bring him in. "We need to get them in," said coach Thompson. We left three on the bases, and that would have won us the game."

Colmark advanced to the next round of the Saugeais Baseball Tournament with a nailbiting 2-1 series win secured in the final game in an extra innings. Colmark made heavy weather of game three, taking a 3-0 lead courtesy of runs from Lewis Harris, Richard Ashmore and William West. However, Indianapolis Colts88 fought their way back into the game, and levelled it up with a 2 out triple that got a runner home in the 8th inning, putting the fans on the edge of their seats. Colmark prevented a loss in the ninth, but barely as Tom Stewart was forced to fight back as Indianapolis Colts88 had two on base with only one out, and a Lewis Harris home run over right field secured a famous victory. Colmark live to fight another day, and will face Michael VII in the next round.
