This is the roster, RP and results thread for the first World Indoor Soccer Championship (WISC), part of TBI's Footba11er test series. Carasatoga is the first host and is excited for the oncoming tournament. Qualifying will consist of 4 groups of 6 teams with a double round-robin setup. The 4 groups were set up with a random draw from a hat (I swear). After qualifying the top 2 teams from each group will advance to the knockout rounds which will be held in Carasatoga with venues and schedule coming soon. The first Matchday will be Monday. RP cutoffs will be around 10 pm every night and scorination will be between 10:30 and 12 EDT every night. After qualifying, there will be an offday from scorination and the knockout rounds will resume on Friday, May 20.

WOLF'S ARENA
__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

"PASS! PASS!" Moench ordered, as Dunn past the ball to him. Moench then used his footwork to beat the Winger in front of him before going up against the Defender and the Goalkeeper. The Defender marks his fellow Pivot, Thomas Lees and a Winger has marked Dunn. He was on his own. He shoots - and hit just hits the post but the Defender has moved up front and heads it in.

"GOAL!" Tyler screeched. He ran accross the arena, taking his bib off and waving it into the sky lake a lasso. He grabbed his water bottle and sprayed it onto himself.

"Good one Moench - remember, keep looking for your options. Remember Tyler, a goals a goal but your job is stopping them. Remember that" Rouze told enthusiasticly.

Tyler was doubtful about the team holding together; their Goalkeeper and their two main Wingers would eventually have the Cup of Peace. Wolfmanne were also going for a bid to host it. They needed to make the most of their time here, before they go off to play the CoP and the Futsal got three new players to replace them. It was a shame, for they had an excellent goalkeeper and two excellent wingers.

The game continued and it was Tyler up against pivot and close friend Straatsma. He marked him and went in for a tackle; it succeeded and Tyler ran up the Arena with it, before passing it to Lees.

And that'll be another goal. Bibs 2. Shirts 0. Lees celebrated by punching the air as Moench hugged him. Rouze pretty much had the team but he was always looking out for potential players. Lees would for sure score a few goals and get at least one Man of the Match award. He was a prospective player, who's future in the main squad seemed clear.

Tyler had only narrowly missed selection for the national team, although he was shortlisted; the Futsal might be chance to show what he could do. Finally, Spencer blew his whistle and the game ended 2 - 0 to Tyler's team.

"Alright, gather round" Spencer bellowed. Rouze walked next to him, with his arms foulded and his serious expression out. Like many Wolfmanni coaches, he was determined to do well.

"Congratulations team. You all played well. If you play like this, we'll win this tournament. Starting line-up is the usual; let's make a fantastic opener. Alright, come on boys, let's win this thing" Rouze echoed, his French accent filling the room. The team walked into the changing room to get changed, leaving Rouze and Spencer alone.

"So John, who do you think has potential?" Rouze asked.

John stroked his beard as he thought. All played excellent... but then it snapped. One had played outstandingly.

"I think Thomas Lees has potential to develop, sir" John replied.

Rouze nodded in agreement.

"Should we play him now?"

"Na. We need to see how Straatsma plays - everyone will probably be on the pitch at some point anyway".

"Agreed. Right, see you John". And with that, Rouze walked into the locker rooms

"See you too". Spencer was pretty confident about tommorows match; the team was in excellent form and from what had been seen from that extremely quick warm up match, they had a very good chance of taking something home. Even taking home the wooden spoon would be an achievement; no other nation would have a wooden spoon. However he was going for the gold. Gold was for the best, elite athletes and he had help select this team; these were among the best Futsal players in Wolfmanne. That was the reason why they were picked.

Many in the team see this as an oppourtunity to advance into the main squad. It certainly is, however they still remember that they are Wolfmanni; and that Wolfmanni athletes are nicknamed Wolves; and that they would live up to that standard.

OOC - Why do I always play Darmen? Lol.

'Daizland Sports Gazette'

Daizland will be sending a team to the first World Indoor Soccer Championship!

Image

We've had a look at the Roster here in the Gazette and lets be honest folks....
Are they household names in the football world of Daizland? - NO
Are they players with International Pedigree? - NOT all of them
Were they picked from the Top teams in Daizland? - NO

So, we had some serious questions when we met up with the Manager Liam O'Brady.

We didnt need more than question one...."who the hell are these guys?!"

"Make no mistake" said O'Brady with a wry smile, "when I was asked to put together a team for this tournament I took my job VERY seriously. You have no idea how excited I am to see them on the world stage. And I guarantee you that excitement will be shared by everyone who tunes in to watch these guys. Indoor Soccer is a different art to the game we all watch and love on the full size pitches around the globe. Indoor Soccer suits a very particular type of player. I have managed to assemble the most compatible and complimentary group of players possible! You see the criteria is different," he continued with a glint in his eye.
"Its all about touch, control and pass. There's no need for big tough defenders or pacey wingers or strikers who are good in the air. No No No, you MUST be able to control the ball. Watching these guys is like poetry in motion I tell ya! Pass, pass, pass, pass....hold on to the ball, probing, probing and then BAM!! Goal!
Let me tell the whole of Daizland, tune in and be entertained! The World Indoor Soccer Championship will be sensational!

So, are we at the Gazette convinced???? YES WE ARE!! Bring on the free flowing Futsal!

Like most non-soccer sports Kazzoria's Futsal rooster consists of members of Kazzorian tribes. As ever the tribe is wanting to bag more silverware to rub in the rest of Kazzoria's face.

Rooster:

GK- Gaer (78)
DF- Jurki (23)
DF- Mser (18)
MF- Saergo (101)
FW- Cactui (24)

Bench:

GK- Agreio (19)
GK- Zancoota (32)
DF- Burgan (47)
DF/MF- Farsh (92)
DF/MF- Meltar (56)
MF/FW- Ugan (22)
FW- Oshin (35)

The Kazzorian futsal league consists of four teams. The Aakke, the Rartfans, Bevels and Fregi. All four of them are separate tribes. The last two league seasons were won by the Aakke, but the Bevels hold the best overall record with 458 titles. The Fregi are second with 342 and Aakke third with 275. The Raftfans have only managed a paltry 62 titles. The game has been played by the tribes for thousands of years.

Daizland Vs Wolfmanne

As we await much anticipated kick off in the World Indoor Soccer Championship, the Daizland team have been relaxing and meeting with fans. "Its important to connect with the fans" said McGeady, "sometimes they can make the difference in a match, you might be losing or struggling to get in the game, cheering fans can give you the boost you need. Khabarovsk Krai off to losing start

Hopes were high coming into the inagural World Indoor Soccer Championship, but alas these hopes were crushed as Khabarovsk Krai were defeated 6-4 by a spirited Beaverriver leaving them in 5th place overall.

Khabarovsk Krai have only themselves to blame, but it was not helped by the fact that Beaverriver decided not to relase an offical roster which meant the only roster that Khabarovsk Krai could rely on was the one that was leaked from the notorious intelloleaks website. When striker Teitur Björgvinsson was questioned later he highlighted this as major factor in the defeat. "We just didn't know what we were up against and how they were likely to play. We were too cautious from the get-go and as soon as they scored the first goal, we let our heads dip and started playing sloppy football "

The Beaverriver striker Dave Pickard caused havoc throughout the match and managed to net 4 goals overall thanks to some classy finishing. By half-time Beaverriver had managed to go 4-1 up thanks to Dave Pickard with Khabarovsk Krai only managing to score a goal when midfielder lkay Vaandrager' shot was palmed into the goal by Beaverriver goalkeeper Ana Mccoy.
Khabarovsk Krai attempted to muster a response which came through the unlikely source of defender Harod van Klooster who managed to score 2 goals with out reply. lkay Vaandrager added a third and suddenly, miraculously, the scores were level. However, any lingering dreams of a famous Khabarovsk Krai win were extinguished 2 mins from time when Rarph Sanders added two quick goal to seal the win for Beaverriver

Final Score Beaverriver 6 Khabarovsk Krai 4

Cactui had done okay. He had scored 4 times, but it still wasn't enough. The team had fallen one goal short of a draw and that wasn't good enough.

"That wasn't good enough!" said the manager.

"Oh, but we tried are hardest."

"Yes, but your hardest isn't good enough, okay?"

"What should we do then?"

"Put 110% into every game then!"

"We couldn't keep that up."

"I don't care! We will rotate!"

"But the others aren't good enough."

"That's tough, they will have to try harder!"

"Fine."

"We are settled then."

Ray turns into national hero with 2-1 Indoor win!

As the only female on the SW 2Fort Indoor Soccer teams, Lexington Ray knows how hard she had to work to get on the team itself. So when she scored SW2F's only scores in a matter of 2 minutes, she was overjoyed. then to have those two goals be the only scores in the game, it was pure bliss for her. Lexington scored both goals in the first half as goalie Tim Toblorone saved an amazing 22 shots from going in, the only glitch was an early second half goal by an unknown forward for Astragoth. This leaves SW 2Fort tied with Mangolana for the lead in Group b with each team at +1 Goal/allowed ratio.

Carasatoga Big Over Cosumar, Now Overall Leader in Host Tourney

EDMONTON- The National Indoor Soccer team won its very first international contest last night at the Positi Stadium in Edmonton. The Rogos dominated Cosumar the entire night with certain stars shining through. Jayson Carter led all scorers with 3 goals and 1 assist for 4 points total. Dennis Jones-Griffin followed with 2 goals and 1 assist as bench man Gero DeMoore added 1 goal and 1 assist with Kevin Simmons adding another goal (his first) and also Sean Murphy Lee racking up a goal with an assist from the goalie, Adam Guzman.
Carasatoga was just too much for the Cosumar team to handle and breakout goal scorer Kevin Simmons added after the game, "this has been the best game of my career, and I hope it continues on the road and for the rest of the tournament." Coach Payton Walker was excited about the win and optimistic about the Rogos chance of making the knockout rounds to be held in Carasatoga, "We did amazing tonight with key players stepping up when they had to, and even when they didn't have to. Cosumar had an off night, they really are a good team, and we will have to be ready for them when we travel to Cosumar. Going into the next game versus Sarzonia at their field is going to be another hurdle we will have to face, but Jayson and Dennis, and Adam, are all up to the task."
The Rogos will be taking on the side from Sarzonia and will be looking to continue their dominance away from home and maintain their lead atop Pool A.

OCEL0T SPORTS NET

MATCH REPORT

OCEL0T 0-2 DELACLAVA

Ocel0t's first ever international futsal match ended in disappointment as Delaclava scored a goal on either side of half time to take all three points. Ocel0t coach Arne Silkjeborg is still optimistic, though, stating "every team is new to futsal, and we all start out on even footing. We put in a good performance against a good team, and we have more of a chance to at least get to the knockout rounds because it is not like football or any other sport where there are already teams who are dominant and established." However, this will be no easy task, as Ocel0t are seeded in an extremely difficult group with TBI, Carasatoga, Delaclava, Sarzonia, and Cosumar.

Delaclava started the match well, and Romari had to be alert to prevent several early goals for Ocel0t's opponents, palming a shot against the crossbar and diving to stop a long-range drive from hitting the back of the net. Ocel0t began to gain their footing, however, and had several chances of their own, with Kornilenko forcing a sharp save from the Delaclava keeper and Gorbenko striking the post with a free kick. Despite Ocel0t's lively performance, Delaclava remained dominant for most of the half, their players working in complete unity. Delaclava got what they deserved in the 17th minute, as a player picked up a pass and rounded Romari to tap into the open net. The first half ended a few minutes later, and the sides went to their dressing rooms with much to talk about. Ocel0t was a much better team at the start of the second half, Fluffy Billings wasting a golden opportunity when he struck a simple tap-in against the post, and Kornilenko again tested the Delaclava keeper's reflexes with a shot from the edge of the penalty area. However, Delaclava managed to double their lead when a rare error from Romari saw him fumble a shot into his own net. That goal knocked the attacking intent from Ocel0t, and Delaclava again dominated, and Romari's sharp reflexes denied them several more goals. Substitutes Coentras and Dubrovskiy came close to scoring for Ocel0t, but Delaclava's defense held firm to claim all three points for the win.

Daizland Gazette

Victory for the Daizland dynamos on match day one in the World Indoor Soccer Championship.

Daizland 4 - 1 Wolfmanne

The result might flatter to deceive because both sides played some scintillating football in this game. It was a real treat for the fans.
Devo Devlin got Daizland off to a flyer with an early goal as the dynamos seemed to settle the quicker of the two teams. The Wolfmanne goalkeeper was in sensational form though and kept his team in the game with some fabulous saves in the first 15 minutes. Slowly but surely Wolfmanne got to grips with the occasion and started to produce the type of football that should definitely see them in the shakeup when it comes to the knockout phase. They equalised on the stroke of half time which set us up nicely for an exciting second half.
We were not disappointed and once again both keepers took centre stage with save after save. It was only in the last five minutes that Daizland broke the deadlock after a quick break where McGeady picked it up in the centre circle, saw Devlin make a run and played him in with a defense splitting pass, Devlin took it in his stride and didn't even look up before he blasted it into the top corner! This knocked the stuffing out of Wolfmanne and within a minute O'Neill went on a mazey run through midfield and rifled the ball into the bottom left hand corner. Again just before the final whistle O'Neill found himself in space out on the left hand side, played a neat one-two with O'Brien and rifled a shot in off the post to secure victory for Daizland.

BBC Sports 1

World Indoor Soccer Championships - Daizland v Wolfmanne

"Welcome back to BBC Sports 1" sports journalist Mark Saintburg stated, holding a microphone in his hand. "Today saw Wolfmanne's opening Futsal match against Daizland, after Wolfmanne was defeated 4 - 1. With me now is the Captain Valiant Quenneville, who was also the Goalkeeper and is competing in the upcoming Cup of Peace. Valiant, are you embarrassed at defeat?"

Valiant thought to himself before answering. The pause lasted only two seconds and within that two seconds, he had thought of an answer.

"Well, I think we played well; I was interviewed by a Daizland television broadcasters and they commented that I was a tough Goalkeeper to beat." the French Wolfmanni replied. "It may be our opening game in international Futsal but more will come and hopefully, we'll win them all".

"Do you blame the failure on the rest of the team?"

The Goalkeeper was about to answer on one of Bonustellus' main channel; he wanted to be frank and say that the Wingers and Defender didn't live up to their role. However as the Captain he had to say it in the nicest way.

"They all played excellent, err, I saw all Defenders and Wingers when substituted play to the best of their ability; however I believe some improvement is required".

"Now Thomas Lees was our only goal scorer; do you think he has potential to develop?"

"Absolutely; he is a fantastic player and a great penalty taker. He is able to use both his feet effectively and I think he has a good chance of getting into the U21 squad, perhaps even the main one".

"Tomorrow you play Erathore who drew your archrivals Darmen 2 - 2. Do you think you have a good chance of winning?"

Valiant would once again have to lie; he was the Captain and he had show that he was inspirational and had confidence in the side.

"Hopefully yes; we played excellently and it was only minor letdowns which made us loose the match. However this team is excellent and they have potential".

"Ok thank you, you obviously have to join the rest of your team. Good bye, Mr Quenneville".

Valiant was unsure on his views the guy had asked; did he really have confidence in this team? Is the defeat embarrassing? Should he be frank and tell his true views? It was a war between head and heart; head for being a Captain, heart for being a player and not at all a Captain.
___________________________________________________________________________________

When Valiant had arrived, hew met up with Ducinni and Moench, who would join him in the main team. Rouzen had already finished his end of match discussion and a roster had been posted on the wall; the starting line-up was the same. They weren't playing Lees yet. He didn't know what he planned to do with him but he was sure that the Pivot would get his glory eventually.

"Have you heard about what they're going to do the vote for the Cup of Peace?" Ducinni asked Valiant.

"Once 24 teams have officially signed-up" replied Valiant. "But we should play in this for some time; they need about 30 or so teams to officially start the tournament".

"Do you honestly believe we'll win the bidding?" asked Moench. Valiant, if he was Captain of the main squad, would say yes; however he wasn't, so he could be a player and express his opinion.

"I'm not sure; Virabia have experience but that's not gonna stop us".

Valiant thought about the CoP; it was like a ticking time bomb and when it was detonated, they would leave Futsal behind to contest football internationally. He just hoped he could stay in this tournament for some time.
