History

What some foreigners knew and commonly acknowledged today as the 'Darius' was in fact the fourth incarnation of its kind. The first concept of the car commonly associated with Automobil Aurenoria's introductory approach into the market of crossover SUV was established in January 1996. AA research & design team at the time was preliminarily conducting its first experimentation with a new concept in Taurenor;

A four-wheel drive emphasising a casual persona and flexibility to attract the younger generation in Taurenor.
The idea to approach the above mentioned goal was to allow a passenger-comfort driving experience, whilst simultaneously combining overall good motorway speed with four permanent wheel drive and acceptable ground clearance.
In turn, the above experience will attract client-contacts who are not interested in mud plugging off road cars, with emphasis made in the possibility of maximising their various leisure schedules; such as moutain biking, tramping or weekends sailing.
New features which will attract potential buyers; retractable and storable twin sunroofs, fully-reclined passenger seats for sleeping and comfortable back space.

When words were leaked - by a yet still unidentified to this day - employees of AA having knowledge of this project back in late 1994, the concept was proven to be a popular one in the eyes of prospective domestic buyers, and interests were immediately forwarded for the reservation of released inventory as soon as possible. Though potential buyers' reservation would have to wait until December 1995, their long wait was proven to be worth the effort, for the model was soon to be quite the hype amongst Aurenorians and Taurenori alike - especially that of the younger generation, and by the end of January 1996, initial first batch was depleted already, four months earlier than expected: with a record of sale almost double the initial expected number.

The reason why the model was popular with domestic buyers throughout the continent of Taurenor was quite a simple and straightforward one: the Darius had set a new sport four-by-four standard. This first incarnation of the Darius featured a two litres, sixteen valves four cylinder engine and a configuration of either four speed automatic or five speed manual transmissions. It also offered the buyers with an all wheel drive system.

Due in part to its width, four-wheel drive setting and short overhangs, the first Darius was easily manoeuvrable - whether it be on or off-road - in almost all weather conditions. These early designs were categorised not as trucks thanks to its well-designed passenger safety equipment, which include a driver's side airbag, and an adjustable three-point seatbelt setting for its driver and passenger seats. This combination was some of the many factors behind the unexpected domestic success of the first incarnation of Darius.

Following on the above mentioned success, a new variant in 1995 was introduced by AA. It featured a new four-door setting, and the model was eighteen inches longer, by estimate, than its previous incarnation. The second incarnation - known widely today as 'Darius 1995' - furthermore applied the newly-established Association road safety standard of two front air bags. A re-tuned two litre, V-sixteen engine for a cleaner emission process was incorporated to replace its predecessor's engine. The aforementioned also provide more torque performance for the Darius. In July 1996, AA introduced the front wheel drive variant of the design.

During the 1997 reorganisation of Automobil Aurenoria in preparation of expected heavy international automobile competition in Taurenor - for in August that year the Aurenorian Association has declared its policy of no-string attached free trade initiative - the new management seek to further improve the design. These were only minor improvements, however, such as changes to seat fabric in two door variants, the addition of an electronic moon-roof system in four door variants and a digital clock as a part of standard model's package. Audio entertainments were further improved to adapt with the latest entertainment development of the time.

And the fourth, and final incarnation of the Darius is the model shown by us in this storefront. It is a vast improvement to its 1997 predecessor, with some notable changes as summarised below;

Struggling automaker Geposki Automobile has gained a lucrative contract with iconic Aurenorian car makers Automobil Aurenoria, in an attempt to revitalise the company and increase its domestic market share.

Geposki's plant in Yamman will be used to produce such iconic models as the Darius, which will go on sale across the Radiatian Federation some time next year. Geposki also hope that Automobil, an established brand, will raise interest in their own brand, and secure them export markets among other Noctur nations.

The decision to use a factory based in the Exegrad Metropolitan Area is seen as an unusual break from the current trend of moving production to the northwestern city of Midgard. However a company spokesman said that he felt that using a factory in Yamman, an economically depressed area, would create jobs for the locals.

"The whole deal is a win-win situation," Said Geposki spokesman Peadar Kucera. "We gain from bearing the Automobil brand, Automobil gain by getting access to our markets, and the people of Yamman gain more employment opportunities."

The Aurenorian company has previously faced difficulty in exporting to the Radiatian Federation due to punative trade barriers designed to protect local industry.

Prime Minister Soden Larssen, who infamously reneged on a plan to lower tarriffs, said that the deal would be good for all involved. "Radiatia is all about efficiency. It's in our culture. And I think that Automobil will benefit from that."

Some have criticised Automobil for taking advantage of Radiatia's low labour costs, however with the country's consumer market ballooning, the deal is no doubt a coup for the company who have long since sought access to the Radiatian market.

Nevertheless, we think that this does not mean we should sit back and enjoy the ride. The VLT Group is constantly looking for investment opportunities and possibilities for further expansion of both its brands and the group itself. For this purpose, we are looking for marques and manufacturers with a clearly distinguishable identity and a promising future. As you might be aware, we consider Automobil Aurenoria to be one of such manufacturers. The marque has an identity that could clearly distinguish itself from the existing brands in our portfolio and could serve an entirely new range of customers for the VLT Group, namely those of the price-aware consumer who seeks mobility and reliability at the same time. Since VLT is under-represented in this market segment, we are interested in your firm.

Therefore, we would like to ask you to consider a significant investment from VLT, in terms of technology, knowhow and financial means, in exchange for a stake in your firm relative to the size of our investment. This could result in either a partial ownership relation such as the VLT Group enjoys with Forza Automotive, or a full ownership situation in which Automobil Aurenoria would become an individual brand in the VLT portfolio, similar in nature to Monteluci and Lepanto, or perhaps an entirely different ownership arrangement. This would all depend on your personal preferences.

As an ordinary sale of stock, all aspects of the firm known as Automobil Aurenoria will remain as they currently are.

Our subsidiary Vun Lëtzebuergesche Transportgesellschaft BV, already responsible for the national sales organisation of VLT in Van Luxemburg, will be setting up a distribution and sales network for your marque in Van Luxemburg under the name Automobil Aurenoria Vun Lëtzebuerg BV. Existing VLT partners and contracted dealership groups will be responsible for AA dealerships throughout the country, possibly augmented by several new sales representatives. This should result in approximately 100 dealerships of which the majority are already VLT dealerships and who will open or reserve a secondary showroom for AA products. In time, this should be doubled or even quadrupled, depending on sales volume.
