"Landing complete. All passengers, please remain in your stationed areas and await instructions before disembarking," said the very calm voice of Zahra Mu'tamid, who had been but a minor character in the former democratic Emirates.

She was very young when she was made the Minister of International Affairs in the Old World, though it was through special forms of preservation adapted from the great works of the Ajerri people, as well as the Arcadians that allowed the Onzaians to impede the aging of many of its greatest minds for the sake of stable governance. However, it was not without flaws, and the long-term effects were still ultimately unknown.

Mu'tamid was quite lucky. Her position in the government allowed her and her family to be given priority seating on a world-class vessel, in comparison to some of the ships that the other Onzaians traveled in. Many were over maximum capacity, and daring missions were made over the years to exchange supplies from those that had a surplus to those that had shortages. Many died along the way, whether because of age, crime, or other things, and it was Mu'tamid who made the decision to begin using empty missile pods as coffins for the deceased to be sent out into space. While it was controversial, many appreciated the ability to put their loved ones to rest, rather than having to send them to the ship's incinerator.

Slowly but surely, the former leaders of the Emirates withered away. Mustafa Darzi, for example, who was one of the Emirates' greatest diplomats, refused to partake in the preservation medical processes, and thus died of age rather quickly. It wasn't long before André Lamar, the former President, also died from refusing the same procedures. However, the deaths were not sudden and were not unexpected. Many new faces had arisen to the call for leadership. Others, such as Zahra, had existed for a while, but simply rose through the ranks faster than ever.

The fleet of ships were governed by a hierarchy of command, with Mu'tamid being at the top, followed by Jordan al-Maliki, Khalil Sayyid, Iqbal Bahadur, and others. They didn't always agree, but thy ultimately held the same vision, and arriving at the new planet gave them a renewed sense of hope.

Mu'tamid stood at the very end of the ship - opposite of the cockpit area, where she inhabited the commander's quarters - alongside a team of armed peacekeepers as the cargo doors slowly opened. It was the first time they had done so in the unknown number of years that had passed since their first departure from their former planet. As it was slowly lowered to the ground, blinding beams of light zipped in through the crevices. As they hit her face, she felt a renewed since of life. It was the first time she had felt the ray of a sun in many years.

When the door finished being lowered, the handful of people stood, nearly blinded by the amount of natural light. A warm, familiar breeze rushed into the ship where they stood. It was a very welcome one, for before them lay the sight of miles upon miles of sands, with a visible savanna in the distance. Mu'tamid was the first to step out and onto the warm sand. She scooped a handful of it up, and as the sand slipped through her fingers, turned to her comrades on the ship. "My friends, at long last, we are finally home."

Darkwater Irons HQ, Rollingston East Ajerrin

DI President Mali La’ato and Vice President Marcus Arms walked into a boardroom on a windy morning before the market opened.

"Shares of DI are expected to jump on the completion of the first full Fleet today. I filed to sell options at the bell, along with the rest of the Board,“ Marcus said as he sat down in his tigga-tongue leather seat.

Mali smiled as he looked at his watch. “We should all be about 10 billion dollars richer in 3…2…1… You’re welcome, by the way.”

The market opened and both men smiled, getting down to business on the latest mining figures in Silverton Hills until Mali noticed a ripple in his coffee. And then another. “Tremors,” he said.

Mali turned on the vidscreen on the front window over looking the Samlad Sea. The sight of fires and tsunamis crashing into the UTR hit both executives like a ton of bricks. Maria, Birkingxam and Apekspoli lay in ruins. While the rest of the world lay in darkness the sun shined in the east, showing wave after wave of destruction. Flipping channels only showed more chaos. As the two shuffled to grab various communication devices the vidscreen went black until a golden eagle stood on the window in the room.

“Oh shit,” Marcus snapped.

Phones were ringing off the hook. Secretaries ran inside to ask for orders. Sirens blared in city streets. Panic was starting to set in. Could this be the end of days?

Marcus picked up a call. Defense Minister General Rainart was on the line. “We have declared a Code Black. All Darkwater Irons starships are hereby ordered to protect and defend the Federation. Establish protocols for transport drop points now, starting with New Hope.”

After the transmission most of Rollingston lost power. With the vidscreen down the two saw the worst sight imaginable - a fifty foot tsunami coming straight for their window. Within seconds, the building was awash in the blue waters of death.

DI opened up 11% but no one was around the office to notice.

Kahu's Log, Day 7

It’s been a week since Lieutenant O’noco brought a smile to my face. While it wasn’t the wish I was hoping for at that moment the discovery of planet Y-381, what is being called Yucon from many in the quadrant, was a pleasant surprise. The orbital station from Lahui-1 has made several runs around the planet and discovered many resource-rich locations near the equator of the planet. There are no signs of Federation ships on the planet, nor in the vicinity. It is that information that led to the decision to land in our current location. Dozens of colony ships unpacked during the week making a tight wheel around Lahui-1, with engineers prepping the soon-to-be cities with the needed infrastructure to thrive.

The first thing I saw when stepping off the shuttlecraft was a clear blue sky touching the most pleasant blue water I could ever have imagined. The sand is near white with the tiniest shells. It’s been more than twenty-three years since I put my feet in warm sand like this. Looking up to Lani I grabbed the sun and thanked Akua for finding us the Aina to continue our purpose. Laki Kai [Lucky Seaside] will be the name we call this place.

The next location we surveyed was a cliffside spot east of Laki Kai. The view overlooked the the sea, showing multiple islands nearby. The Lieutenant spotted a gecko on a rock by the cliff, which promised good fortune for us all. We named the site Pomaika’i [Good Fortune]. A jump to the island nearby brought the amazing discovery of flora and fauna different than what was seen on the mainland. The trees were thinner and much taller, nearly eight to nine stories and produced some fruit - a green freckled oval-shaped fruit the size of my fist that gave off a sweetened smell when opened. Despite my desires to take a bite I made sure to collect a few for observation.

I returned to Lahui-1 before nightfall. The orbital station continued to transmit data while a drone patrol follows its every move. There are still several of our starships in orbit, bringing resources to land every few hours around the clock. Hails to other civilizations on the planet have been received since the first day and the executive is moving to provide any help or services to those who are in need. We need to seek out friends and tell our story. Failure to do so will cause the Federation to gain the upper hand. They will pay for their actions. They will pay for the deaths of our people.

A Seemingly Endless Frontier...

Postby Maledictoria » Tue Jan 20, 2015 5:44 am

It was yet again a call to abandon the planet - the same thing that spawned the Maledictorian society to begin with. Maledictoria was relatively unaffected by the severe weather, having been in a desert, but when droughts and earthquakes destroyed an entire city, it became very clear that a series of events would occur on the planet that could never be undone.

At first, it was unknown to the Maledictorian people that there was any hope for survival. There were no spaceships in the Maledictorian fleet, and their past animosity with the United Democratic Emirates led many wealthier nations to reject their request for just a single vessel.

However, word began to get out that a mysterious vessel was spotted in the very late hours on a landing pad at Fort Suleymanshakzhi, which led many to wonder if only certain individuals were being evacuated. In a daring attempt, many set out on the nation's crumbling highway system to travel through the desert to the militarized city. Many did not complete the journey - others turned back several days in. However, it was the work of Mafuz Saqqaf, a young but highly educated journalist, that ultimately allowed many Maledictorians to get out of the nation.

After the journey was made, those who remained came upon the walls of the great fortress to find them abandoned, allowing easy entry. They did not come unprepared, however. Armed to the teeth with military-grade firearms - what nation supplied them is still unknown - the mob-turned-militia raided the fort, showing no mercy for the "important" individuals that were being prepared for supposed evacuation. Their theory wasn't wrong - there were two large ships capable of holding far more than the mere population of Suleymanshakzhi. The group captured High Sultan Abu Ali II and his royal guard, and issued a final call for evacuation via radio - the last working system of communication in the nation. They waited for several days as travelers from around the country arrived at the fort. Many were malnourished, others were severely wounded. They welcomed everybody aboard, however.

Not everyone made it, though. Departure was forced when a very powerful earthquake struck, and the fort's walls began to crumble. They departed early, leaving many in the deserts to arrive at the fort, finding it abandoned.

Abu Ali II begged for his life. It was hard to show mercy to somebody who all through his life had shown none, but to tendency to stain the new slate of the nation with blood was a primitive one. He was imprisoned in the security portion of the ship, where he remained until death of age.

It was when the fleet spotted signs of life on an Enkon-like planet that hope was renewed. They had enough mercy to forgive their brutal Sultan, but would their mercy extend to the nations that abandoned them on the former planet? Of all the things left behind, it was unlikely that war would be one of them. It was yet undecided, as little did the Maledictorians know that they were landing on the same planet as the Onzaians. Nonetheless, the voyage of a lifetime - across a seemingly endless frontier - at long last had been complete.

Infrastructure improvements
Midgar,46566- With a couple of weeks after touchdown to the new planet. The populace have made some progress on creating it's first cities on the new planet and starting farming on it's area. People have begun spreading out and building cities. The biggest infrastructure project being created is the dual rail system. The country will have both a High speed rail system and a heavy rail system side by side. The Heavy Rail system will be exclusive use for freight movement around the country and the High speed rail system will serve the public. The purpose of such a thing would be to ease congestion on the rail system and to get goods through the country faster. While expensive at the start up it's believed that it's best to create the system now before the land is taken for other uses. It's estimated that the Grand Duchy could be partially functional within a year and fully functional in 5-10 years.

Townships Landed, Imperial Decrees Begin Infrastructure, Economy Construction
Zaphiron, New Zaphirite Empire- In the weeks following the landing of the townships, the Emperor has issued a series of decrees and Edicts illustrating the expansion of the Imperial infrastructure and economy. Cities are being erected once more around the townships that left Enkon, and a system of highways and high-speed monorails have begun construction to connect the various ships. Merchants and businesses who survived the Second Exodus have been sent to neighboring countries Minecraftia and Unibearia in the interest of beginning trade and renewing the Unibearian Alliance. Most projects are expected to be fully completed in around three years, with some projects stretching as far as five in initial estimations.

Social Reforms Cool Ethnic Tensions From Exile
Zaphiron, NZE- The Emperor has issued several decrees concerning the tensions between certain immigrant groups during the Exile. During the Exile, the Remnantfolk of Rotium and the Aquinsterians had begun to renew their distaste of one another concerning the conflict between the two groups that had occurred on Enkon. Upon the first reported deaths, the Emperor ordered the military halt these fights, stating that "we can hardly afford to fight when we have just survived a terrible experience." He then later sent out two decrees stating that the two groups were to be separated totally in residential, communal, and professional working environments for the immediate future until the country's situation allows for time to settle the dispute. Rogue violators of this decree are to be sentenced to a swift punishment, then a period of hard labor that lasts anywhere from one year to the settlement of the dispute, depending on the seriousness of the violation. None have violated the decrees yet.

Thedes, Arcadia
Unlike the other ships of the Exodite Fleet those from the Commonwealth had not traveled the same path; though the destination had remained unchanged in the long run the means by which the Arcadians had taken to the stars to flee from the fall of Enkon had had disastrous results. While attempting an FTL jump something had gone wrong with the navigational systems causing the Arcadian ships to be thrown wildly off course into an uncharted and unknown anomaly, it was this anomaly which had changed everything for the people of the Commonwealth - where the rest of the fleet managed the journey in a period of 40 years due to the anomaly the Commonwealth ended up in transit for closer to three hundred. However as the Arcadians had discovered when they escaped the anomaly after what to them was three centuries of struggle for those who had avoided the anomaly a mere fraction of the time had passed. So the people they encountered in orbit over Yukon were figures from history and Arcadia had changed beyond recognition.

Gone was the newborn democracy, gone too were almost two thirds of the population; lost in transit to one disaster or another. In their place stood an autocratic government ruled by the eternal Empress Ai Li-Hua I, a government perpetuated by the Archons and the Kabals, whose laws were enforced without mercy by the Magisters and the Justicars. The face of the nation and its budding culture of freedom and liberalism was changed into a steely mask of authoritarian rule - a tyranny which did not even disguise itself behind the guise of false democracy. The Empress ruled, she was absolute, there was no questioning her power or authority, for within Arcadia she seemed omniscient, omnipresent and omnipotent. On the ships of the Arcadian Exodite fleet she had been everywhere, she controlled every aspect of every ship; it had been a despotism, but a necessary one.

After the truth of their situation had been realised, that the Arcadian fleet was stuck in an anomaly with no way out panic had ensured; the system of government so carefully laid out had failed. The democracy of the Commonwealth had died after thirty four Presidents were elected and then dismissed within the space of five years, some lasting no more than half an hour before they were removed - soon it had devolved into a system of backroom dealings and negotiated power; then it devolved further in a fractured system of strong men who ruled by fear. Then had come the Empress; at first people had only been dimly aware of her presence - many thought her nothing more than a cleverly constructed AI interface which had the power to manipulate the systems of the ship - but then she stepped out into the open and one by one the strong men fell and the last corrupt vestiges of the democratic government had collapsed with it. The Justicars roamed the corridors of the Exodite ships meting out justice, rooting out corruption and bringing an end to the anarchic reign of terror which had been wrought by their predicament.

With what was left of the fleet, battered and bruised, its people brutalised by years of hardship and anarchy, now under the central control of one entity, the brightest minds that could be assembled were put to work on the task of a solution to their predicament. Escape attempts had been made before, but every time they had failed and the anomaly had claimed the would be escapees; now with a central driving force a way out was finally uncovered. The plan was an all or nothing gamble, the entire remnant fleet would attempt escape at the same time, an act which would mean either total success or total failure. So with no small measure of trepidation the fleet made its escape and came out precisely in the location where the navigational systems had been meant to take them three hundred years earlier. Except out here it wasn't three hundred years...

The Arcadians had expected to find a thriving and fully developed world upon arrival which had had three hundred years in which to become prosperous. Instead they found a maiden world with many of the refugee fleets still in orbit. Outside the anomaly a mere forty years had passed.

Great Dilemma
For the past several weeks, Arugsians have seen countless civilizations enter the solar system, Yukon’s orbit, and have landed on the planet. Surprisingly, the people have welcomed the newcomers and established contact unlike the countless holo films that show extraterrestrial monsters wiping out a defenseless population. Although the technologies of some the biggest of these new civilizations is equal to their own, these new peoples will have to adapt to our home planet’s atmosphere, diseases, and natural disasters. Most of the Dominion StarFleet has meet up with massive Neden, Ajerrin, and Onzan colony ships and their peoples have been relatively welcomed to set up around the Argusian homeland. However, all new peoples should take note that Argusian’s will and certainly can fight. Argusians do not take kindly to offenses against their people, culture and territorial claims. Although there is great interest in alliances, trading and world peace; Argusians are also interested in strength, respect, and an occasional war.

The ships have landed. It is a pleasant region. Water has already been connected to the city ships and services have begun again. Many are fearful to leave the cities, for it is unknown what lies outside the abjuration barriers. We see strange creatures in the distance, but we cannot see them clearly wnough to define them. I must say I never expect me to find myself in the position of Speaker again. Sunseer handled the crisis as well she could, but I am truely glad that she called on me. Most Caisans survived, which I cannot express my joy at. Cyrellican is our neighbor, as it should always have been. Aethra, the High General traveled on their ship, and she reunited with the Emperor and his children today. Sadly the Galgi princess did not make it. She fell down a flight of stairs during the beginning of the earthquakes. A tragic story, but I think it was for the best. Her heart wouldn't have been able to handle the stasis chamber. I am hopeful towards the future. The Host is with us. The Second Commonwealth will not fall.

Unibearia starts developing

In the recent weeks, 5 major cities have been undergoing construction, a series of roads have also started development and are to all be connected to the Capital City of New Rovstad, which is in the center of the nation. Several small settlements have also been founded to make sure that all the land and it's resources are being used. The small settlements are also a way of making sure that the natives are to be expelled of the Unibearian lands. To help better protect the people of the settlements, the FrontiereKorps has been created. It uses military personnel living in the settlements in the east (The frontier) and they will protect that frontiere with their lives until proper infrastructure is made to connect proper supply routes. To this, major developments in the fishing sector is being made because of the riches in the waters, filled with fish and wales, it will help ease the pressure on the agri-domes (Agri-ships). It is expected that the Wolven Empire be fully functional within 3 years but this is just an estimate.

The military has also begun major activities to make sure it can cover and respond to threats anywhere in the nation. This lead to the construction of several military bases and the creation of the FrontiereKorps

Plague Strikes Desolaas-Tyvenia

Postby Tyvenia » Wed Jan 21, 2015 5:29 pm

“What sort of illness, doctor?”

“I don’t know, sire. But it strikes quickly, and we have yet to find any sort of cure.”

“I… I can’t deal with this. It’s too much. What are the other nations saying?”

The doctor sighed as his shoulders dropped, “We seem to be the only ones afflicted… No other nations have reported. I’ve reached out to all of the science ministries… even Wolfeinstein… with no luck.”

Since Tyvenia landed, or tried to land, Desolaas-Yukon had delivered one devastating loss after another. Their initial landing party had been torn apart by some pack of animals almost on touchdown. Herbivores nonetheless. More catastrophes followed, and now thousands more were dying terrible, painful deaths from some sort of plauge.

“We have sent corpses, and tissue samples for testing, but even the nations who have established research and medical centers aren’t really equipped for this.”

“What about the sickbays on the ships?”

“Most have powered them down or started to transport their facilities down to the surface.”

“Is the quarantine in place, at least?”

“Yes sire, but it seems to be having limited success, I’m afraid. People in and outside of quarantine are still getting sick. Honestly, I don’t know what else to do.”

“Unless we hear from somewhere else, I guess we have to wait it out…”

New Beginnings

Postby Airatania » Wed Jan 21, 2015 7:44 pm

Twelve years earlier...

Madeline Ward stared out the window as the ship she was on, Ark 1, began its landing procedure. This was it, she thought. In a few short hours, she would hold the biggest responsibility she had ever had. She would be sworn in as Secretary of State. But more than that, this was their new beginning. The Journey was coming to an end. Soon, they would begin building their new home, here, on this foreign planet.

The trip to Yukon had been incredibly long. Though, it appeared as though they had even beat most nations to the arrival. For twenty-eight years, Ward and her entire society had been bottled up in those damn Arks. For twenty-eight years, her entire civilization had no land to claim as their own.

Today, that changed. Today, all those memories of the Great Disaster would finally be history. Today, they could finally touch soil again, feel fresh air sweep across them, hear fresh, clean streams flow gently across the land.

Today was a new beginning.

Present Day

"Please repeat after me. I, Madeline Elizabeth Ward..."

"I, Madeline Elizabeth Ward..."

"...do solemnly affirm..."

"...do solemnly affirm..."

"...that I with faithfully discharge the duties..."

"...that I with faithfully discharge the duties..."

"...of the Office upon which I am about to enter."

"...of the Office upon which I am about to enter."

Madeline stood on the steps of the newly completed government headquarters in New Miracus, a gargantuan crowd surrounding her as she spoke. As she recited the oath being read to hear, the Presidential Oath, her mind wandered ever so briefly to that fateful day when she had heard the news, some forty years earlier. She stopped that memory, though. Never let it see the light of day. No, this was far too important for her to miss standing there daydreaming.

"Congratulations, Madam President." President Ward shook the hand of the judge that had administered the oath. She then smiled briefly, her features looking worn from all the stress of working in the government all these years. She turned to the podium and pulled out her speech, briefly overlooking the words before speaking over the loud and raucous cheering of the crowd.

"Thank you, thank you. Please. Thank you. My fellow Airatanians. What a special day this is. For several reasons. Today, we show that our government is strong and democratic, by electing a new president. It's a special day for me, realizing my full potential, and finally having the opportunity to serve you as a nation in the best way I can. But also, today we mark the anniversary of our new beginning. Today we celebrate Relocation Day.

Now, today isn't just about our relocation. It isn't just about the infrastructure that we have developed since we arrived here, or the incredible technological achievements we have made using the materials made available to us by this great new land. No, today is about the sacrifices made by those that got us here. The hard work and dedication of millions, if not billions of Airatanians back on Enkon, building the Arks and planning the mission that would save the majority of us. Today, we celebrate their victories, we mourn their losses, and we remember the courage that they displayed, the skills and traits that are the very definition of heroes.

Today, we can look in the mirror and see that within ourselves. We have faced obstacle after obstacle, challenge after challenge, in order to rebuild our society, our way of life. We aren't done yet, not by a long shot. We have a lot of work ahead, and we need to continue to work together to reach those goals. But we can look to those who got us here, look to those ancestors, our parents, our grandparents, and we can see those qualities. Which means those qualities lie within us. We have to continue to look at ourselves and drive ourselves to be like them, to always be better. To be heroes.

Together, we will be strong. Together, we will unite on this new beginning.

Thank you."

The Blood Moon Rises

I sit impatiently in the ship's training room on a bench. Decessus was supposed to meet me here an hour ago, then again she's not to blame. We did after all come out of our 5 year stasis only 2 months ago, we still haven't even been everywhere in the ship. Ahhh the ship, Grandmaster Kolomika never did tell me how he managed to get 16 fully equipped space carriers from 12 countries we weren't allied with. I do remember that day, he was gone for almost 8 months when out of the blue he came back home.
The disasters had just begun to get bad, it was almost getting to the point where we couldn't send assassins out because it was too dangerous. I was very young at the time so I didn't completely understand what was going on, but I remember sitting in the kitchen of our "house" in Caliginosum. Niaska was sobbing uncontrollably and my mother was trying to calm her down. Me and Decessus were playing in my room when all of a sudden we felt the cave begin to vibrate and we heard the sound of a massive engine powering down. I remember rushing outside with my mom and several assassins, we raced through the caves with others till we reached the surface. I recall the light shining so bright I couldn't see at first, when my vision cleared my heart almost stopped. I seen Kolomika, Krakkus and Conitha step out of a helicopter, ships were landing behind them and assassins and mercenaries were filling them with supplies and people. Niaska ran up to the Grandmaster and wrapped her arms around him, tears of joy spilling from her eyes. They walked towards us and as they got closer I began to see the scars of battle. My mother Izca was just about to speak but Kolomika cut her off. "Don't ask, the story is too long and we don't have much time. All you need to know is we're safe. Now grab your things and meet me at the closest ship, we leave in 3 hours. I remember running back into the cave with my mom and loading up our possessions. We grabbed everything we could but the priority was my fathers armour, belongings and DNA. I helped as much as I could but I was still young and wasn't much use.
I look down and check my watch, well might as well start. I walk towards a heavy bag and begin training.
When we finally got aboard the ship we were surprised to see Unibearians everywhere, there were even some Cyrellis but not a trace of our own human settlers (I later learned that they were all turned into werewolves to keep the species alive). We went up to the command centre and meet up with Kolomika and Niaska, where we launched. Things were mellow for awhile after that, we wandered the cosmos searching for a habitable planet. We came close a couple times, the only notable one was when we landed on moon that showed signs of life. I was 19 at the time so I got to come with the search team. It was just me, Kolomika, Decessus, a Cyrelli swordsman and 2 assassins. That was a weird place, I mean the place itself was very similar to Enkon but the people. We wandered for only 20 minutes till we discovered what that life was. Ugly scarred humans in strange tribal dress. Everywhere. They used repeater cross bows that shot electrically charged arrows and strange rifles that made no noise while firing crystal bullets, we fought valiantly and managed to capture several rifles and cross bows(which are now in mass production). We rushed back to the lander and were out of there faster than you can say "Pineapple". It did also help that we sent out bombardment after bombardment of orbital nukes into the planet till not a single organism showed up on our scanners. Still after that we've always been cautious, though it doesn't matter much we haven't seen a single habitable planet since. Suddenly I hear the intercom "Paging Guildmaster Victus to command, I repeat Guildmaster Victis to command". It sounds like Decessus, but why would she be in the command centre? I grab my gauntlets, which are very similar to my fathers design but I use retractable/ejectable daggers from the tribal moon instead of claws. Slipping them on I rush into the elevator and push the button, I feel the elevator quake under my feet as it hauls me up.
When I reach the command centre I see Krakkus, Conitha and Kolomika huddled around the communication centre, Decessus is waiting by the viewing bay. "What's going on?" I ask cluelessly. Conitha looks up from the screens and responds "we're nearing another habitable planet, several nations from Enkon are already there setting up cities and their demanding identification". Great. What was I supposed to tell them, Oh don't worry we're just a bunch of Assassin hybrids traveling in a convoy of stolen ships, using alien weapons are going tosettle down on your planet hope you don't mind. "Tell them we're the remnants of New Wolfeinstein and were hoping to settle down" I order them. Kolomika begins "who are you to order-" Conitha interrupts "Hello we are the remnant of New Wolfeinstein, we're just hoping we can settle down". We all wait anxiously for a response, finally a voice crackles in "you are cleared to land, we have no right to deny anyone who's been through the hell storm of Enkon a home".
The ships begin to enter the Atmosphere and relief spreads through my body.
We have a home.

Wolven Empire closes Borders due to risk of plague outbreak

When the news finally hit the Wolven Empire about the major plague that has hit Tyvenia, the government started getting worried when the population had a minor 'freakout'. Many were scared that this would mean having to find another home because the plague would infect the world, others thought that Tyvenia had did this purposely for their own mad experiments, either way, the situation was in dire need of addressing. The Wolven Empire, also known as Unibearia, had been on Yukon for a couple of months and the government wasn't going to let a plague diminish the moral of it's nation. And by orders of the Imperial council and the Czar himself, the Borders of Unibearia are closed. That means no one can get in or out of the nation until things have cleared up. To this, nationwide blood tests and a dedicated research team (For the cure) will be deployed all around the Nation.

The government has urged the people to stay calm, as the 'threat' is far from being an 'actual' threat.

In other news, the first 50 fishing vessels have been launched into the Northern sea. They will help provide fish for the nation and another source of income! Many more vessels are to be launched soon.

More death

Postby Tyvenia » Thu Jan 22, 2015 11:55 am

Trey collapsed into his desk chair as he read the first page of the report.

"No..." his lips outlined the shape of his words, but their breathlessness carried no sound. "Ten percent? How...? 150 million people? In a matter of weeks?"

His mind clouded with overwhelming grief and despair, the prince's eyes merely glanced the rest of the document. It was littered with phrases like, "pyres too much pollution to sustain," and "into the sun."

"Antivirals: Failed"

"Gene therapies: Failed"

"Experimental tests synthesized from Wolven and Hybrid antibodies and vaccines: Failed"

The final thing he read before collapsing into tears, "... only afflicting Desolaas-Tyvenia".

The report decimated his spirit, but now his own symptoms were clawing at his brain. He lurched from the chair to the couch on the other side of his office, and closed his eyes."

Herargon's Immigration and Disease Combattance Laws strictened
After a very long time Herargon finally was reestablished again on their new home.
They already brought building goods such as wood, marmer, steel and iron with them from the old Empire. Everything had to be built very fast initially and it took several weeks to entirely create the capital. And their border! The Herargonians, or as they preferred to call themselves Romans, loved creatimg real walls to keep themselves safe. They did this since they learned from their ancestor's mistakes to not guard the border well anymore.
All was hasty and stressfull, but with their discipline and extremely high nationalistic morale, they could survive for a long time now. However, little did they know a incident would happen in a neighbouring country that would test their borders for the first time.

8.36 P.M.

The Emperor, Archelauss Tiberias di Caesario, read about the Tyvenian's president's death.
He was not worried. His nation was already well-protected with immigration laws, and nobody ever got in illegally over the border that had : three walls, one being thick, fat and high, another being one of barbed wire, and the last being a low and a small one with pointy spikes to impale someone; if he did not die yet a final composition of awfully pointy would be awaiting him or her. Even without being killed after that, he would be shot by the guards.
So far, he did have no reason to worry.
But a highly annoying voice in his head made him ask if that was right to not worry. "You sure? What about that one man that made it into our country...?" said the voice in his head.
"Oh, shut up, you idiot!", he shouted softly. That man should have been dead by now.. He was between fifty and sixty years old when he managed to come in, that for sure.
But still, he felt concerned. What if that one man could not be the only one? What if there were more to follow?

For a moment he stood up and walked in silence in his own version of the Oval Office. He looked at the painting of the first emperor, Augustus.

He sighed briefly. We are the descendants of great ancestors. We shall not disappoint them by letting us be conquered by a maniacal plague.

He pushed on the calling button on his bureau, and called for the Ministers of Health and External Affairs to immediatly come to his room.

A quarter hour passed by, and there was a brief, respectable knock on the door.

"Come in". He sounded very tired.

They came in, a blonde and a black-haired minister, both of fully Roman descent. It was a requirement to be fully Roman to be able to work as a Minister, and he was proud of them.

"What is the matter, Your Royal Highness?" asked the left brown-haired one from the External Affairs.

"Travel to the Senate and tell them that in my Name no one will enter the Empire from now. All trade must have been desinfected before they can travel to our country, and the trade goods shall have to be placed at the border. All other travel goods from us then will be placed just outside from our border. This is the message you must send to them. I already have made the decrete in a quarter hour, signed with my hand. Here's the paper."

"Very well, Your Royal Highness," he said, and he left with the decrete in his coffer through the door.

"And may I ask what my task is to do this time, Your Royal Highness?", asked the minister of Health.

"You will have to make sure that everything in a 5-km zone from our border shall be desinfected every week and that no one is allowed to be there until the epidemy has ceased. The State won't pay for their costs of sleeping, however."

"Well, that is capitalism for us, Your Royal Highness," he said laughing.

The Emperor could not do anything other but smile and then he said: "And now you have to go, or you will be fired faster than a coala can eat an eucalyptus leave."

Never did the Emperor saw him go away faster than this time.

He prayed that Herargon would be spared for the disease, and walked towards his desk to sit there, let the National Journal be interrupted for a special, personal story from himself to tell the world about their new laws and desinfection actions...

President Ward rushed into the briefing room, having been sworn in just 20 minutes prior. Only twenty minutes into her term as President and she already had a major crisis on her hands. Everyone in the room stood respectfully until she took her seat at the head of the table.

"As you were." Everyone took their seats.

"Now, please make this quick, as you can imagine, I have a lot of events to attend this evening. What's the situation?"

"Madam President, the crisis in Tyvenia you were briefed on yesterday is getting worse. Our scientists are saying that the Tyvenians efforts to find a cure aren't working as of yet, and we know that the casualties are growing, rapidly," said General McCaren, his face pale and contorted in reaction to the grim news he had to report.

"How many have they lost?" asked President Ward.

"We're not sure, but it could be as high as 150 million," chimed in Dr. Tavares, the newly appointed Secretary of Health.

"Goodness," the President said quietly as she sat back in her chair, contemplating the news. She turned to her Secretary of State, Meredith Tierney, looking gravely concerned. "Okay, get in touch with the Tyvenians. I know we haven't had much diplomatic contact in the past, but tell them that we will offer them whatever assistance they need. And let's coordinate our response to a potential outbreak here at home, just in case."

"Yes ma'am," called out several of the department heads.

"If that's all... dismissed." With that, the President stood and briskly left the room, almost as quickly as she first entered, off to try, somehow, to enjoy the rest of her first day in office.

The Evolution of Canis
By Dr Vexicus of The University of Vierne

Man to wolf, it sounds impossible doesn't it? Yet everyday proof it isn't is pushed in front of you. You see Wolfen in the streets,The Werewolf Crisis of Enkon and rumours of a new species of hybrids in New Wolfeinstein. This paper is here to discuss the genealogy of these new species of Canis and the evidence supporting their natural evolution. The evolution of the traditional Canis is already well mapped and well studied, what we're looking at here is how the fearsome Canis Lupus evolved into the Canis Sapiens and even more recently into the Canis Robus. I as a genealogist, anthropologist and archeologist have spent nearly a decade gathering evidence to support the theory of canine evolution.

Canis Lupus---->Canis Tchadensis---->Canis Tugenensis---->Canis Kadabba---->Canis Ramidus---->Canis Platyops---->Canis Africanus---->Canis Robustus---->Canis Sediba----> Canis Rudolfensis ----> Canis Habilis---->Canis Ergaster---->Canis Erectus---->Canis Floresiensis---->Canis Neanderthalensis----> Canis Heidelbergensis----> Canis Sapien----> Canis Robus

This is the simplified evolutionary tree of Canis throughout history. I have found skulls, ribs, femurs and many other skeletal pieces of each Canis member which are now on display in the University of Vierne. I have dated these remains and it appears the last naturally created Canis(Canis Heidelbergensis) of Yukon and Enkon died out around the same time in 5,000 BC just a thousand years before the humans of Yukon died out. The cause of this is unsure but I suspect humanity had something to do with it, it would after all explain the mentions of Wolf people in ancient culture.

Now we come to modern day Canis Sapien or Wolfen, they are not direct genetic descendants from the Canis Heidelbergensis but rather artificially created beings engineered in a laboratory and incapable of evolution. Or so we thought, recent evidence of suggests that the werewolf is in fact not a sub species of Wolfen it is actually a Canis Heidelbergensis degraded from the Canis Sapien. Even more shocking is the offspring of these 2 species has actually created an even newer species the biology community has named Canis Robus or "Wolf Prime". These Canis Robus are the evolutionary superior to the Canis Sapien and are vastly different anatomically and genetically. The discovery of this implies that not only are artificially cloned species able to evolve but also means humanity is on the brink of evolution as well. What comes next in our lineage or when it's going to come I am unsure of but it is coming.

The Emperor Speaks

9:30 PM. The News feed from the National Channel was interrupted.

The female newsreader got an urgent message delivered to her from a journalist.
She read and her eyes became wider, shocked as they became, and then she quickly regained her posture.

She scraped her throat politely, and said the following words.

"We excuse ourselves. An urgent personal message from our Emperor has been delivered.
He wishes to directly speak to the nation. Please salute and listen carefully to His words."

Then the Imperial Office came into view, and the Emperor sat there. He looked slightly concerned.

There was a brief, calming moment of silence, and then he began speakimg, slowly, with a deep, charming voice.

We, the Emperor have an message to the Senate and our People of Herargon.
We remind you all, people, that we all are citizens. Fierce, brave warriors with unyielding Roman blood in their veins.
But that blood might become threatened by the new disease that currently is striking Tyvenia.
To counter this, all people living within five kilometers from the border of our great nation shall have to go to family, friends, hotels, or anything else that is not in that proximity of our border. You also should be aware, that it currently is forbidden to travel into other countries. All other citizens of our nation that are not in our borders shall have to travel to our country immediatly, and will be placed in an quarantain chamber for three days. More information is available at the Ministry of Health. Keep calm and carry on. Avè!"
, he saluted, and then the screen got back to the newsreader, who looked back to the TV-watcher, and she also saluted with the Roman greeting.
Everyone in the cafe followed her salute. They all knew what was happening.
But feeling fear? No, that was not for the Romans, since they do have strict laws on immigration. They trusted their emperor, as long as they got good food and jobs.

An Offered Hand

Postby OES Zaphiron » Thu Jan 22, 2015 2:30 pm

The R&D Labs, Zaphiron
The Research Labs that had been repurposed for the transit to Yukon for various things had finally been recovered, their equipment restored to their proper places and their processes resumed. The new lab staff, all descendents of the original staff of the R&D Department of the Enkon era, were resuming work on the various projects halted in the events of the Exile.

Well, all except one staff member, that is.

The woman in question had come out of stasis late, in what some might call stasis-shock. She had been unresponsive for quite a while, nearly two months after landfall in fact. However, she could move, talk, and speak on her own, as if there were an invisible person carrying on conversations with her. What came as a shock to the team trying to wake her up was when she laughed aloud and spoke the name of the person she was supposedly talking to.

It was Lord Zaph.

For a long while, no one could understand why the woman would be talking to herself like this, or why she gave accounts of happenings with something she called the 'Last Survivor' and the people apparently riding it, of whom supposedly Lord Zaph was leading. Everyone dismissed it as nonsense after four months, and left to resume their other duties. Everyone except the aide to the Head Of Research.

"Ma'am?" the aide spoke, trying not to interrupt the Head of Research's furious scribbling on papers. As always, the Head of Research ignored her, and carried on in her breakneck paced writing. The aide, trying to be gentle, put her hand on the 30- year old woman's shoulder and gently shook her to get her attention. "Ma'am? It's lunchtime..."

Again, as always, the woman didn't respond. Sighing, the aide went back to her office and picked up the plate of cafeteria food that was waiting for the Headwoman. She quietly entered again and set the plate by several others like it, those only holding scraps of the food that was on them. She tried her best to gather up the dishes in a quiet manner and took them down to the cafeteria, grabbing a bite to eat for herself before returning to the office. She sat down beside the Head of Research and caught a glimpse of what she wrote.

From what it looked like, and if she didn't keep insisting to herself that these adventures were real, one could think that they were out of some Sci-fi exploration story or something.... the aide shook her head in exasperation, and made to leave.

Suddenly, the Head of Research shot out her hand and grabbed hold of the aide's wrist, almost causing the aide to scream. The aide, startled, quickly turned to find the older woman staring with a burning intensity into her eyes. The aide tried to get herself out of the other woman's grip, but it was like an iron vise. For what felt like an eternity, the two stared at each other in dead silence. And then, suddenly, the Head of Research spoke in a raspy, whispery voice.

"He's coming home..." Tears began falling down the woman's face as she wept in what had to be joy. "Finally, he's coming home..." And just as soon as she said that, she collapsed onto the ground unconscious. In a panic, the aide smashed the casing for the emergency alarm, and within minutes a medical team had taken the Head Researcher to the Main Hospital.

Helping Hand Offered to Tyvenian Government While Home front Secured
Zaphiron, NZE- In response to the plague currently ravaging Tyvenia, the Empire has offered to put 3 teams of researchers on the case of investigating the disease. Meanwhile, an Imperial Decree has been issued stating that Merchants and other Tradesmen are to take hazmat precautions for the duration of the plague. Furthermore, a daily curfew and mandatory inspection has been set up to monitor signs for the plague. The Imperial R & D has formally requested the Tyvenian CDC, or their equivalent, to send copies of all documents, reports, information, and what samples that can be spared possible to further speed up research on the disease.

New Toola sets up shop on Yukon

Construction crews continue to build up New Toola's infrastructure

New Toola - Since landfall on Yukon, New Toola has been building up its infrastructure. The capital, New Ithaqua, has already been built and new buildings continue to sprout up across the new territory. Cape Perusia and Napolia are the two other cities being built on the new territory.

The New Toolan government wishes to speak with other nations around the world. Word has spread that an election for the next Chief Elder may occur very soon.

This is not based on measuring success by human competitiveness for wealth, possessions, influence, and fame, but adhering to God’s standards of truth, justice, humility, service, compassion, forgiveness, and love.” - Jimmy Carter

Wolven Empire bans Hybrids and starts deportation of the few already inside the nation.

When the news hit that some random scientist in Arcadia had claimed that Hybrids were their own species and not a subspecies of the Wolven, the government and the Wolven public acted in a manor that would show the World it's stance on this. The banishment of Hybrids from the Wolven Empire. But only those who say they are their own species, those who say that they are a subspecies of Wolven are free to stay. Deportation is to be effective immediately to those it concerns to and a new law was enacted by the Imperial Council that "If ever a hybrid breaks the law, harms a fellow Wolven or resists arrest, their rights are suspended and no penalty will be ensued to those who harm the convict."

This may seem like unconstitutional but it must be said that the hybrids are descendents of the werewolves that once threatened Humanity and the Wolven Empire fears that one day there might be a mutation within the hybrids that may cause them to be contagious to humans as werewolves once were.

Emperor Urges Other Countries to "watch carefully", Regarding Infection

Archelauss, the emperor, now finished his first message and then got away to send notes, solve several building disputes, and then he began to speak worldwide to all other world leaders in a radio messsage.

"Good night, other world leaders and citizens.
Today, I speak on behalf for my Senate. The situation is dire; last week alone, a sickenly latge number of Tyvenian citizens have died. While we do not know the origins and cure for this disease yet, I urge you people to develop cures and to protect yourselves.
However, that is not enough. The Eastern leaders that are one of the more powerful leaders out there have yet not decided to guard their borders, desinfect public places and they even haven't yet begin with developing cures! If you want to prevent the death of millions of citizens before the economy, that should happen. Nothing is able to fight a disease that is foreign without international support. Nothing can withstand diseases that prevents the public from demonstrating freely on the streets as they wish for a more healthier, pure society.
Good night."

The radio then played the national anthem, and was set off, as Herargonian citizen Nullius Turquiensis Maltrani wanted to sleep.

New Toola Authorized to Send a Diplomatic Official Into The Empire, But They Must Pass Health Exam
Zaphiron, NZE- After their call to speak with the various countries on the new haven of Yukon, the Emperor agreed to allow a Diplomatic Official, along with his team, into the Empire, provided he submits to a health exam to ensure that the Tyvenian plague has not come into contact with the diplomat or his team members, and thus endangering the Empire. The Empire recognizes that if this happens, they do understand that it was not intentionally done, and will not take offense if such a thing does happen, only send the afflicted people to a medical facility to be treated.
