With the Union involved in the war, they would start off the intervention by attacking the II Army. Knowing they were heavily outnumbered, Kleiner decided to try to force the II Army in the offensive within the battle while trying to ensure the Union had a high defensive advantage.

Cavalry Co. A - is a reconnaissance unit. Its roles also include artillery observation and sharpshooters. It also uses the CV90 infantry fighting vehicle.
Armored Co. B - is the battalion's main strike weapon. The squadron operates with the Leopard 2 main battle tank.
Assault Co. C - This squadron's role is to support Co. B with mechanized infantry support. The squadron is based on quick and aggressive assaults with infantry squads supported by their CV90 infantry fighting vehicles.
Assault Co. D - This squadron has the same role as that of Co. C.
Combat Support Co. E - The largest and most complex of the battalion's units, its capabilities include logistics support, repair and recovery, signals, medical, and mortar support. The unit is also responsible for the protection and operation of the battalion's base of operations.
Artillery Battalion - Lt. Col. Olof K. Karlson

Each battery has 3 gun platoons and an observation platoon. The battalion also has a WLS-platoon (radar), that is used in counter-battery fire. When enemy artillery fires, the WLS radar detects the projectile and uses its trajectory to calculate where it was fired from. This data is then sent to the ILS and the cannon battery staffs, which in turn use this to coordinate the cannons in an effort to take out the enemy battery.

HQ Battery - consists of support and supply personnel. They provide the gun batteries with the resources they need to fight (ammunition, distance, elevation and weather data and security) and serve as guards and medics when necessary.

Our Intelligence Agency indicates that there that Farshonia is either attempting to link with or absorb Miensk after rolling through Pushkinskaya, Then creating a front for an assault in to our borders. With Prudence and due diligence we believe it to be in our best interest to form an armed front in preparation that Pushkinskaya falls. To create a buffer zone and ensure the safety of our citizens, we feel it is necessary that this front be formed within Miensk.

As I deliver this message 5 panzer divisions, 3 Mobile Armor (Heavy Armored vehicles other than Panzer) Divisions, 6 infantry Divisions, and 3 artillery divisions are preparing to cross in to the Miensk border.







We expect little to no resistance as Miensk is already preparing forces preemptively in the East to either link with or defend against Farshonian forces. It is our expectation that Two communist forces would merge with their like minded ideals eventually, possibly with or without skirmishing. We prepare for the worst case scenario.

The Southeast Pushkinskaya is very important to Farshonia because of secret lab X-18 and also the creation of "new territory" once the area is "liberated".Third Army Group will attack Vianskaya and X-18.Also some undefended areas (orange areas) are now occupied because of major skirmishes before the full scale war begins.

Field Marshall Bernandas Dinius stated "We have totally outnumbered them all even Pushkinskaya's allies is intervene this war.Now 3rd and 2nd Army Group.ATTACK! FOR FARSHONIA!".

After digging in and securing a battle line, Troops being deployed for the first time take time to pose for pictures to send home. Pictures of young and battle eager Großartigkeit infantrymen.

[Bastionian Republics]

The Bastionian Federal Parliament approves full Declaration of War against Farshonia. A counter-invasion force of five million combined infantry, armor, and artillery is being mobilized. Once prepared, the 8th Naval Fleet from the Southern Combined Fleet will escort the counter-invasion force to Pushkinskaya to reinforce the Bastionian Expeditionary Force.

Strategic Bombers from the proud Bastionian Federal Air Force will be commencing regular bombing runs of Farshonian troop positions along the front, as well as nightly bombing raids over key Farshonian cities hitting major government, military, industrial, and infrastructure targets. Bombers will be covered by air forces from the mainland as well as carrier aircraft in the Baltic Sea theater, and Titer Air Base.

Inside General Bergstrom's Office

Svein Bergstrom, the Baltic Military Commander in Pushkinskaya, sat in his office deliberating with several of his unit commanders on potential methods of resistance to the Farshonian hordes. General Kron, commander of the defenses of Baltiysk, spoke up, "Sir if I may speak on the matter...our defenses are superb, there is no way for them to break through. We have enough supplies to last us months if it comes to it. The defenses will hold up to most any attack. I should know, I designed them myself." Peder Kron had been a brilliant architecture student when he first realized his true calling, the army. He dropped out of the prestigious University of Stockholm and joined an engineer regiment. Because of his ideas and impressive background he was quickly elevated through the ranks. After the Baltic Conflict he realized the islands his nation called its capital province were too easy to attack. He designed some new defenses and presented it to the military council. His plans were put into place over the next year. Mariehamn is now considered one of the more impregnable cities in the Baltic Alliance. He has also planned the defenses of Turku.

Bergstrom sat, deep in thought, while his commanders bickered and fought over who had the better ideas when suddenly they heard a quick rap on the door. Bergstrom, shaken from his thoughts, ordered the person to enter. A timid orderly slowly made his way into the room. "Sir, General Dahlberg and his commanders of the Royal Brigade of Oland have arrived. Should I see them in sir?" Bergstrom answered with a curt "Yes". The orderly saluted, leaving immediately after Bergstrom's response. A long ten minutes later, fiver Baltic officers strode in, Brigadier General Karl Gustav Dahlberg was the first into the room. He was a tall, old man with a less than decorated service record. The general had never distinguished himself in any way yet rose through the ranks anyways. His battalion commanders followed him; Lt. Col Ulrik Larsson of the Oland Battalion, Lt. Col. Joran Oddrsson of the Bornholm Armored Dragoons, and Lt. Col. Olof Karlsson the artillery commander. They weren't an impressive lot, coming from an outpost on the small island of Oland. The reason they were sent to aid in Pushkinskaya is because Oland is never under serious threat of invasion, as there is not much strategic value to the island. "Ah, the great General Dahlberg", Bergstrom said haughtily, "How are you sir?" Dhalberg responded with disdain in his voice "General, let us dispense with the formalities." What do you require of my troops? Where would you like us?" Bergstrom eyed him curiously,Alright Karl, we can do that. In fact we were just discussing this. We need reinforcements at the lab X-18 down in the south. Your artillery battalion will be used to reinforce the forces already defending at that location. We need your dragoons and the Oland Battalion to harass the flanks of the 2nd Army Group. You, General, will also be in charge of Baltic troops in the vicinity of X-18. This includes the 2000 men stationed there already. These 2000 are made up of one battalion of Baltic Marines, two battalions of the Royal Fusiliers and Grenadiers, two battalions of Royal Rifles, and a tank squadron. They are yours to command if you wish." Dahlberg thought for a moment, "General I will gladly take this assignment. You honor me with this command." He saluted, "For the Gods and our Country". "For the Gods and our Country", Bergstrom parroted back. With that Dahlberg and his commanders left to make haste for the labs.


Conversation over secured line of comunication

"Captain Torgilsson! Captain!" yelled Bergstrom. The orderly raced into the room. "Can you get me on the phone with Grosz and Larson?" "Yes sir, right away sir." A few minutes later his commanders were in a deep conversation with the Prime Minister and the Minister of War. "Sirs, I tell you, allied scouts believe there are more than two million Farshonian soldiers involved in the invasion of Pushkinskaya. While our troops are better supplied, armed, and trained, we are still heavily outnumbered. We need reinforcements as soon as possible," Bergstrom pleaded. Larson was the first to speak, "I have left it up to our esteemed defense minister and his people to determine if this is the right course of action. We are with you General." Grosz, in his usual gruff manner said, "General you should not be disappointed. While we do not have enough men ready and mobilized to match the Farshonians in number we can more than make up for it in firepower. We are sending our first and second Baltic fleets to aid in the blockade..." Bergstrom cut him off there, "How is a damned naval force going to help when we're facing a land invasion?!" "If you would not interrupt you might find out General", Grosz stated matter-of-factly, "Included in this fleet will be the 2nd Baltic Army on transport and cargo ships. They will land near Tarva and link up with the southern allied flank and the Northern November Line flank. The 1st Baltic Army will land near Subinsk and head southeast to Venvaly. Last but not least, the Baltic Expeditionary Force you once had command over will be sent to defend the area between Melina and Lemin. That is a fresh, new 220,000 troops being sent to your assistance. The Estonian Division should be landing anytime now. They will not be joining you in Pushkinskaya however. While our small Estonian fleets direct attention away, our transport ships will land them in the far northwestern tip of Farshonian soil. From there their orders are to wreck havoc on northern Farshonia, maybe draw some of their forces away from the front until the main Bastionian force can reinforce." Does that sound good to you General." Bergstrom struggled to find the words to express his gratification, "Thank...Thank you sir. This will be a tremendous aid. With that and what I am hearing from our Bastionian allies Pushkinskaya is far from lost. For the Gods and our Country!" Grosz cut the call off immediately after repeating the Baltic motto.
"Well there you have it boys. Let's take it to these sons of bitches!"

Inside X-18's Overseer's Office

General Sahkarov who is personally leading the Kshatryian Army on the frontlines is passing around the office as the faint sound of artillery can be heard off in the distance, heavily outnumbered the combined Kshatryian, Bastionian and Baltic currently present at the facility will not hold out for much longer, the General is surrounded by his 5 Kshatryian Knights who are serving as his personal bodyguards "Bring me the Brahmin in charge of the facility." he commands one of his Knights, "I cannot believe this... have we heard from the UFAFO yet?" asks the General, "No sir, none of the UFAFO leaders reported back, it seems they are still occupied with the SMLL in the south." responds one of the soldiers. After a while a scrawny scientist enters the room, "D-Did you sent for me?" asks the man, "Yes, I want you to prepare close-down procedures, If we can't hold them with guns we might be able to hold them with big fucking steel doors."


"A-And if they breach the doors?" asks the scientist, "Well, then I want you to unseal the bio-section and... drop the vials."


Outskirts of Vinsk

A small village called Aldeboro in the south of Vinsk is visited by UFAFO militants searching for SMLL insurgents, after being greeted by the village elder the UFAFO decides to rest in the town and conduct some interrogations.


Everything was going great until a UFAFO soldier raped the daughter of a prominent figure in the village, a big discussion broke out followed by shouting and eventually the bullets started flying. When the smoke cleared the village had most of it's males massacred, the women and children were allowed to live but the UFAFO leaders declared Aldeboro a "SMLL hotspot" and the village was burned to the ground.


It is said that just this week, 4 other similar events happened in the south with the UFAFO intensifying it's government backed mission to hunt down the SMLL.

As I'm sure all of you have heard in the news today, passions are running high once again in and around Pushkinskaya. It's no secret that Pushkinskaya has been a bit of a headache to have lying on our doorstep. A wound that just wouldn't heal, so to speak. Well, it looked like it finally would, alas, fate would have it otherwise. This time we can't blame those rebels though. A new player seems to have entered the game. Farshonia. We have previously had a no-touch attitude towards the whole area, mainly because there was nothing to be gained by getting involved and of course due to the fact that there was no need for it. Pushkinskaya was never a real threat, not to us, not to any of our allies. This time however, the situation is more severe, much more unpredictable and this time our soldiers, as members of the CSO, are on the line. We've had our eyes on Farshonia for some time now and although we've seen some increasingly bad tendencies, this sudden turn of events was unexpected. Thankfully, the Empire is always ready and able to handle the unexpected, and last night we made the decision to get the CMA (Copenhagen Metropolis Army) involved. Our friends and allies, our Baltic and Bastionian brothers and sisters are not going to fight this fight alone. We are perfectly confident they could - but they shouldn't. The Empire getting involved is not out of need, but out of loyalty. This may be the first time we see first hand what the CSO is really capable of. Hopefully this will be over soon.

As Mr. Meshenko just announced we've decided to militarily respond to the Farshonian invasion of Pushkinskaya. I obviously can't go into too much detail, but I can say that we've imposed a naval blockade and no-entry zone along the coastline of Farshonia, as well as a demilitarized zone around the Empire as a safety measure as well as to limit the passage of ships in and out of the Baltic Sea in an effort to keep the situation under control as much as possible. Merchant vessels will still be able to pass the Danish Straits into and out of the Baltic Sea, but will have to go through an inspection zone where they'll be examined before being granted passage. Here they will also receive information about the no-entry zone and instructions on how to steer clear of it. As for the estimated risk to the Empire itself, it's pretty much non-existent. Our south-eastern citizens close to the border don't have anything to worry about. The Farshonian forces have only just entered Pushkinskaya and will never reach our borders - that's a promise.''

After the shock of the Nordic Winter it appears that now, the Nordic Summer has sprung just as violently with war flaring in the East between Pushkinskaya and Farshonia. Whilst tensions have flared the Enterprise has been busy fostering closer ties with our traditional enemy The Borg Collective of Svenskis. With the Borg now hibernating, Captain Picard has taken this moment to make a speech on national television addressing the recent unrest in the region.

People of the Enterprise, I thank you for your loyalty and praise your discipline in these most dangerous of times.

Whilst we have worked to foster ties with the Borg, forces have been moving across the continent that cannot go unnoted. Whilst our mission and ethos is one primarily of peace and fostering ties across the region, we have a responsibility to act in the face of rampant aggression. It is our mission to foster a better region, one of peace and prosperity. This, simply, cannot happen so long as Farshonian aggression continues unchecked.

We have a duty to act in these matters and, as such, I am ordering our armed forces to ready themselves for deployment. Lieutenant Riker will lead our troops, which we will be placing under Bastionian Joint Command. These troops will work with those nations already represented in the broad coalition of forces rallying against Farshonian aggression and we will defeat them, for a better Nordic Lands.

Since Captain Picard's speech troops have begun leaving the USS Enterprise in military transport planes from multiple military airbases. The Department Of Defence released a statement advising that, in total, roughly two thousand Marines will be deployed under Lieutenant Riker. These troops will be from the 1st Enterprise Marine Division and will be specially equipped with extra anti-armour and anti-air weaponry.

These Marines will be flying in to Titer Airbase by the end of the day to reinforce and join up with Bastionian Joint Command there, with the expectation that the Farshonian troops moving towards the Airbase will soon launch an attack.

OOC: That is way too many aircraft. CHINA, a massive country with the world's largest army, only has 2,800 aircraft in service by comparison. If your nation has that many aircraft in service, that probably means you have tons of outdated aircraft.

With the 2 new brigades arriving to unite with Kleiner's Corps, Kleiner orders his unit of almost 18,000 to reinforce the battle of Baltyisk. While it isn't much relative to engaging Farshonia's 700,000 in armies, he feels that the Union's military tech compared to Farshonian military tech will help boost the value of his corps.

The General of the Army hides his scarred face under a cloth, and his voice sounds strangely familiar to the ex-Alandite Sergeant, now immigrated to New Emberton, who participated in the late Gerrome's squad.

"Very well. Get the borders armed now. Remember, no crossing into the countries or going into the sea. We have orders from Aboveland to respect our limits."

He then shows a battle plan, displaying that once Farshonians give up on crossing over New Emberton, the Embertonians will attack Farshonia and make their way in to siege the capital (expecting help from the other nations) and using all of their non-nuclear arsenal and resources.

Successful Strategic Bombing

The first round of daytime and nighttime sorties against various Farshonian targets has proved very successful. Bastionian BM-335 Bombers launched from the mainland around the clock began to break off into their respective attack groups about 50 miles north of Tarva. Su-33 Carrier jets from the 4th Fleet just off the coast of Farshonia provided air cover for the bombers alongside the long range escort fighters from the 10th Air Division.

Overnight Bombing of Farshonian Cities
Last night, several groups of BM-335 bombers as well as various escort fighters entered Port Farshonian airspace and commenced the bombing of major targets such as the military and civilian naval port facilities, decimating many of the docked vessels and nearby industrial complexes. Several bridges interconnecting major thoroughfares into the port authority were also destroyed. Intelligence expects that 75% of the port has been rendered useless, however some Farshonian missile defense craft managed to shoot down several allied bombers. The remainder of the bombing flight retreated northwest towards allied bases in Aland, Baltic Alliance for refueling and repairs.

Following the attack on Port Farshonia, attacking the capital city as well as neighboring cities was going to prove slightly more difficult. ECM jamming aircraft as well as an additional AWACS were deployed from Titer Airbase to regroup with a night flight of bombers over northern Pushkinskaya. The radar jamming capabilities would hopefully allow the bomber flight to penetrate deeper into Farshonia, however conventional mass-effect ordinance and laser-guided bombs had to be used. Over Laklon, escort fighters were put to good use disposing of local enemy fighters however numerous but ineffective they were. The same flight proceeded straight on to targets in Bartonica, where over half of the city's industrial district was destroyed. They then turned westward towards Volksburg. A separate flight of bombers approaching in front of them from the west, would criss-cross the city. Enemy AA guns, flak, and SAM battery fire was heavy, and 10 bombers were shot down, as well as 13 allied escort fighters. Due to the use of conventional ordinance, much of the city's industrial district was carpet bombed, and as resistance increased, the bombers were ordered to decrease time on station by indiscriminately dropping ordinance. Roughly 10% of the metropolitan area has been destroyed, and many of the fires still burn into the day. There is an estimated 2,000 in combined civilian casualties from all three deep-Farshonian city bombings.

Attack on I-II-III Positions
Since very few aircraft have been reported around the I, II, III Armies attacking Titer and northeastern Pushkinskaya, the bombers met no resistance outside of heavy AA fire and a few SAM batteries. Due to the high concentration of enemy troops, and their vast numbers, carpet and high flammable ordinance were used during the first flight, which proved extremely effective. Intelligence reports an approximate 60% damage on infantry and armor positions, which should dampen the northeastern invasion force. Combined USF, Pushkinskayan, Baltican, and Bastionian troops are expecting to increase their radius of defense from TIter, while the 1st and 4th Armies from Copenhagen Metropolis will attempt to flank the ravaged Farshonian positions.

Strategic Bombing Defense of X-18
A few hours following the northeastern attack, the remaining flights of daytime bomber sorties regrouped over western Pushkinskaya, and proceeded with a more complicated approach route to the southeastern region. While over Berenov, the bomber and escort flights were met by enemy aircraft, which resulted in the loss of 12 bombers and 10 escort fighters. The remainder of the flight readjusted their route, once various Copenhagen K-86 Sabre squadrons were able to join the bombing run defense. Once over the 2nd and 3rd Army Groups attacking X-18, Intelligence reports a 40% damage on enemy infantry and armor positions. Allied forces defending X-18 are still outnumbered and will continue to hold ground until reinforcements arrive. With the loss of Viantskaya, we are unfortunately quickly losing ground.

BATTLE OF BALTYISK - MANUEVERS
The advance of Kleiner's Corps placed them on the allied right flank, left of the III Army. Knowing that Bastionian bombers were bombing the troops at Baltyisk due to their dense formations, which would cause a large number of casualties on the Farshonian side. Kleiner, wanting to slow them down, decided to launch a skirmish on the III Army; the 8 light battalions and the 2 paratrooper battalions, along with the 722nd and 723rd squadrons, each with helicopters, would conduct fast, unpredictable skirmishes on the III Army, in which a few battalions would kill off as many Farshonians as possible, then rush back to safety in a hill which would be fortified by defensive buildings courtesy of the construction and armored engineer companies. He hoped the unpredictability and speed of these skirmishes would take a toll on the III Army, and sent a notice to allied command to focus artillery and bombers on the I, II, & VI Armies while the Union's 660th squadron of bombers, protected by the 730th squadron of fighters, & the Union artillery would blast at the III Army.

Aerial Attacks over Baltyisk and December Line

As the Farshonians attempt to advance further into Pushkinskayan territory and begin combating allied defensive positions in central and northeastern Pushkinskaya, allied forces were seemingly overwhelmed by the thousands of dizzying enemy aircraft overhead supporting the advancing enemy land forces.

In Stockholm, Baltic Alliance, Bastionian Field Marshal Kristoffer Mohk arrives at the Baltican War Ministry building complex. As Joint Chief Liaison Officer to the Baltican Military, Mohk spends much of his time running to and from the War Ministry complex on a daily basis, but today he travels in a special convoy escort, and carries with him a black armored briefcase handcuffed to his wrist. Baltican military police salute and quickly clear the way for him as he proceeds swiftly to a video conference room. In the room are several monitors with CSO logos eventually replaced by images of Baltican Minister of War Karl Grosz, Copenhagen Imperial Councillor of Defense Uri Vanechka, Bastionian Field Marshal Orsen Baumann, and Bastionian Minister of Foreign Relations Atton Kupencheken.

"Gentlemen, after speaking with Field Marshal Baumann several minutes ago over the phone, it appears that the Farshonians are persistent in continuing their massive assault deeper into our defensive lines and are accompanying their forces with several entire air divisions... some 10,000 or so aircraft being focused on the attack on Titer and Baltyisk as well as another several thousand approaching Bastionian forces along the December Line. Within the next few hours, it is possible that they will completely overrun our positions on air power alone." - Mohk

"Several thousand aircraft? Surely you must be mistaken Kristoffer.. what do the Farshonians intend on doing? Blocking out the sun and attacking our troops under the cover of night?" - Grosz

"I'm afraid my colleague is correct, Minister Grosz. Bergstrom has confirmed this as well on his radar in Baltyisk, and we're seeing it on our screens here at Titer. The Farshonian aircraft may be numerous and cumbersome, however there is just no way we can virtually handle entire air divisions being thrown at us while we are so far from our mainland forces. Launching carrier aircraft and our own air garrison would be like sending pigs to a slaughter." - Baumann

"Precisely. In response, I propose that we utilize the resources we have available to us, and take out a few thousand birds with a couple of stones. It's been four years gentlemen, and I think it's about time that the region understands what the CSO is capable of in terms of assured defense." - Mohk, who brings his briefcase to the top of the table in front of him, and proceeds to begin unlocking it. " Every minute we continue this conversation, enemy aircraft will continue to overrun our position. I just need assurances from you, Minister Grosz, and Minister Kupencheken, that you agree this is the right course of action. I spoke with Councillor Vanechka earlier and he passed along his approval."

"Field Marshal, we're with you. This is a military operation, I leave this up to your expertise, and you, Karl." - Kupencheken

"Go ahead Field Marshal, rain hell down upon them." - Grosz

"Very well, Field Marshal Baumann and Baltic General Bergstrom will have direct lines to the instillation in case we have to utilize this again in the near future, and then I will pass along the go-ahead to the base commander that he is cleared to fire when ready." - Mohk

Allied aircraft were called back from the battle airspace over Baltyisk. Approximately 15 minutes later, as Farshonian aircraft continue to cover the advancing ground forces attacking Baltyisk, several projectiles flying at incredibly high speeds enter the airspace and split into multiple reentry vehicles. What appears to be flak is released from the multiple smaller vehicles, and envelopes a wide radius around several groups of aircraft. Almost immediately, the gasses and shrapnel ignite in a powerful bright explosion that lets out a thunderous crack and blast affected by the dramatic change in barometric pressure and subsequent shock wave. The resulting explosion downs many aircraft in the close vicinity, and survivors began spreading out in all directions. As quickly as the first blast is noticed, a deafening roar and the sharp silhouettes appeared as if to graze the sky streaked past more groups of aircraft, dispersing smaller projectiles and exploding nearly instantaneously. In regular intervals of four almost being salvo shots, the projectiles continued to enter the airspace and explode in random spots eradicating the large number of densely populated Farshonian aircraft.

Some minutes following this, four intervalled shots of projectiles also attacked the airspace over the December Line in the same fashion, where another large concentration of Farshonian aircraft were accompanying advancing ground forces.

Trajectory analysis of the projectiles suggests that these high altitude reentry projectiles originated from somewhere north-northwest of Pushkinskaya. The shots continued until the Farshonian aircraft showed signs of retreating after losing heavy numbers. There is no fallout or heavy radiation signatures, suggesting the projectiles were not nuclear warheads.
