New Underground City Being Constructed To Solve Mass Housing Overcrowding

After the population of Vvarden reached one billion citizens, a housing census revealed that Vvarden has only space for only one million more citizens. To solve this, many new plans for underground cities have been proposed with many city planners saying that new designs will greatly benefit the housing problem.
There will be up to 125 new underground cities built, each with state of the art technology. The lights will be made of SimuSun Lightbulbs which imitate natural sunrises and sunsets by slowly brightening during dawn and slowly dimming during dusk.
Each city is designed to hold one million occupants at any given time, although hot-bunking will be required at maximum capacity, and equipped with all facilities and supplies needed by them to survive in isolation if necessary.
Overall construction is expected to take up to 25 years at least to complete though some individual cities may take several months or years to make. Also, the fact that many of Vvarden's builders are not focusing on other major projects greatly speeds up construction.
Many cities will have unique aspects built into their design such as hydroponic gardens, water recycling machines and robotic assistants.

Unibearia goes to Defcom 3 and closes it's borders

With rumors of some hitmen wanting to end the life of King Yuri, the Prime minister has issued an order to close it's borders and declare Unibearia a no fly zone until further notice. Humans will be allowed to leave but will not be able to leave. Peace Squads have been mobililzed to keep the peace in the nation and border security has been ramped up. To this, with the aprovaly of The Arcadian Commonwealth, the Unibearian fleet will be escorting all naval vessels in Unibearian waters since several casses of Pirates hijacking ships and raiding them have been reported. Like last week, 50 pirates hijacked a commerce vessel and killed all its crew and tool the ship. 250 crewmen died. To this, the Unibearian Coast Guard has been mobilized. And The Prime minister made a public statement saying that Unibearia will be paying it's debt to the USS in 500 billion Kredit payments a year.

In other news, the Unibearian wall has finished construction, freeing 15 million construction workers to work on civil infrastructure projects. Such as road construction and house construction.

Kolomika, Conitha and Krakkus stand in the armoury of Caliginosum. They stare at a white board on the wall full of elaborate plans, a prison map hand drawn by Kolomika and an equipment list. Krakkus and Conitha begin arguing. Conitha asks "why aren't we bringing more men, it's a prison you can't exactly just sneak in and out with one of the worlds most dangerous criminals". Kolomika replies back to her "trust me the less people the better, most of the guards are older than me and can hardly put up a fight or are young and inexperienced. Our only worry is the death squad". Krakkus speaks up this time "why is this death squad so dangerous?". "Well when soldiers get court marshalled for excessive force and war crimes the Unibearian government doesn't kill them or throw them to rot in a cell. Oh no they see that as a waste of talent, they let this sick fucks do what they do best kill and torture. If we set off any alarms it'll be them and the military after us and quite frankly I'd rather get shot then end up in a cell with one of those wackos".Conitha looks shocked but quickly regains her composure, Krakkus then says "alright well what's the plan boss how many people we bringing, how much fire power we packing and more importantly how the hell are we getting into Unibearia?". Kolomika steps towards the white board and begins gesturing at it. "There's a secret tunnel located on the borders of South Wavy near Kajar, spies and smugglers have been using it for years for their purposes. We simply fly from Onza out to Wavy then drive to the tunnel we'll have no trouble getting in. Now for the prison. We're bringing 20 assassins, 10 stealth fitted with silent weapons and Raven stealth suits. Those are the guys breaking in with me and you. The other ten are going as heavily armoured and armed as possible their going to be outside making as much noise as they can drawing away the guards from us. We sneak in and emp the generators powering lighting and surveillance and the boys outside are going to take out a couple power lines just so we aren't noticed. We sneak in and kill any straggler guards making our way down to where Ursus will be, he is in same cell Arcosis was, we grab him rush out and get him to the rendezvous where a boat will be waiting in the sewers owned by the guy who gave us this contract will pick him up and drive him out to the ocean. After that the assassins will escape Unibearia and hide in a small village somewhere between there and home making sure they aren't followed. I will hide in Unibearia till the storm blows over then sneak out. Then once the assasins are totally sure they aren't being monitored they'll call our contractor and he picks them up. We walk off rich and he gets his maniac it's a win win". Conitha and Krakkus both agree to the plan then leave. Kolomika sits in the semi darkness and runs his fingers through his fur "well old man just in case this is your last trip we'd better write up a will, you can't leave these people directionless when you die".

A King Makes A Powerful Change, for Stability
Aging King Feran de Clovis of New Evolon Abdicates Throne for Daughter and Son-in-Law

ALIXUS - King Feran de Clovis of New Evolon said Monday that he was abdicating in favor of his youngest daughter and son-in-law, explaining in an address to the nation that it was time for a new generation to “move to the front line” and face the country’s challenges.

The king’s abdication, after almost four decades on the throne, follows health problems but also comes amid a decline in his popularity, particularly as a result of a corruption scandal centered around his eldest daughter that has cast a harsh light on the family's lifestyle and finances at a time of economic crisis and joblessness in New Evolon.

Feran de Clovis said he resolved to step down in January, when he turned 73. He said that a generational change would open “a new chapter of hope” and that his youngest daughter and son-in-law represents “stability for New Evolon and the monarchy.”

The king’s eldest daughter, Princess Julia de Clovis, also the nation's previous Minister of Finance, was imprisoned last year for embezzling funds and sending the country into economic chaos. Because of her illegal actions the government stripped her of her title and holdings.

The king's youngest daughter will become Queen Marlaina de Clovis, a former Olympic swimmer who studied international relations at New Bern University and is regarded as relatively untouched by her family’s scandals. In May of 2661, she married Claude Schuldt, Earl of Kassel and son of the Grand Duke of Schuldtland. He will become the King Claude Schuldt I.

The abdication was first made official by Prime Minister Siriana Yajoa, who called Feran de Clovis a “tireless defender of our interests.” The government is set to meet Tuesday to discuss the legislative changes required for the handover, which Ms.Yajoa said would happen soon. She called the abdication “proof of the maturity of democracy” - a message echoed by most of New Evolon’s other party leaders. However, some far-left politicians called instead for a referendum on whether to maintain the monarchy, with anti-royal protests also convened in Alexis and other cities in protest.

A protectorate of the Federation for the past six years, New Evolon has improved its debt rating according to the the leading credit rating agency in the Federation, Kabel & Pahl (K&P). The king’s reputation has been tainted by questions about his spending habits, who will now face investigation in the embezzlement of millions from businesses who established tax-free corporations in Martus Bay.

The king himself brought on more scrutiny in April of 2662 after disbanding the government, then leaving the island nation on a hunting trip to Maledictoria and requiring hip replacement surgery after a shooting accident. The king’s failure to establish a new government caused a renegade military official to usurp control of Martus Bay, pushing the Federation to act swiftly to destroy the coup and install order. The king’s failure to establish control in the region led the UFA to declare Marcus Bay a protectorate under the Treaty of Friendship.

President Junigka Dealt Major Political Blow as High Council of Prime Ministers Overwhelmingly Approves Neutrino Weapon Exports

MARIA - The UTR’s top policy-making body, the High Council of the Realms Prime Ministers dealt federal President Kihra Junigka a devastating political defeat as it was reported by Maria insiders that the High Council overwhelming approved a final resolution authorizing the sale and export of neutrino warheads.

President Junigka refused to answer journalist questions after the High Council session and vote.

The warheads detonate similar to traditional nuclear weapons, but release no radiation. Instead, high energy neutrinos released during detonation pass harmlessly through most inorganic materials, but are very destructive to organic material. The weapons are called “clean-kill” because they leave no residual radiation from the blast. Even though they kill all life within their blast zones, life can begin recolonization of the effected area almost immediately. And nearly all vital infrastructure remains intact.

Warhead strength will be measured in SciAdv points according to maximum blast diameter in hexes, each 100 of SciAdv strength equalling a 1-hex blast diameter.

The High Council approved the measure with proposed export controls. Nations will only be able to buy the warheads if they meet a number of criteria. Buyers cannot be actively engaged in armed conflict, or considered to be politically offensive or unstable by the High Council. The maximum strength of warheads exported will be equal to the buyer’s SciAdv to a max of SciAdv=450. Special exceptions for several key allies are rumored to be included, but were not made public.

The buying nation must also agree to not reexport the warheads to other nations. And to not use the warheads against civilian populations or ecologically unique areas as identified by the High Council or the Global Alliance.

The warheads will come with variable yield detonators allowing the user to limit the weapon’s damage down to just a few city blocks, or maximize its yield while inflight. They will be sold with and without delivery or launch systems (missiles or launchers, etc). Nations buying just the warheads will need to acquire or supply their own delivery, launch, and other necessary components.

The cost for each warhead and detonator set (not including delivery, launch, or other components) will be determined by blast diameter strength with each SciAdv of strength priced at 1 billion NSD.

In related news, State owned Szytrovf Kuri Chemicals (MAREX: SYKC.34) has announced it received approval from the UTR Foreign Trade Authority to begin exports of its active boron-carbon nano-tube shielding, which the company’s Kuri Defense Materials Labs developed specific to protect against neutrino radiation. The flexible shielding, actually a coating applied to existing shielding, will be sold in classes of different levels of protection strength, upto a maximum export strength of 500. It can be used to shield bunkers, fall-out shelters, and even ship hulls.

Szytrovf Kuri Chemicals says shielding strength must be higher than a warhead’s relative blast strength (meaning, taking into account distance from blast) in order to be effective. If a nation purchases and deploys neutrino shielding of strength SciAdv=100 it can defend against a neutrino warhead of SciAdv=100 or less. Szytrovf Kuri Chemicals warned however that multiple smaller warheads, for example 20 neutrino warheads each with strength SciAdv=10, striking very near the same section of anti-neutrino shielding could first weaken and then penetrate the shield, as an attack of this type is calculated by multiplying each warhead’s strength by the number of warheads striking the shield, in this case the SciAdv=100 shielding fails against a combined warhead SciAdv strength of 10 x 20 = 200.

The High Council also extended legislation governing weapons exports by ordering that all future weapons and dual-purpose sales be prohibited to nations under sanctions imposed by either the High Council or the Global Alliance.

United Coalition Chancellor Chamberlain Charms UTR

MARIA - Chancellor Chamberlain has charmed top members of the UTR government while maintaining a low profile since arriving in the United Realms’ capital.

The Chancellor’s trip to secure better relations and enhanced trade between the two mega-powers has been little publicized and over-shadowed by President Junigka’s recent lost battle against the passage of legislation allowing the export of the realms’ neutrino technology.

The president, seemingly interested in claiming a political victory somewhere, has put her full support behind enhanced relations with the United Coalition, including adding the country to the UTR’s Most Favored Nation trade list along with the United Federation of Ajerrin, Onza, Cyrellican, Caisus-Galgistan-Yktia, Ivstinian, and Mare Solis.

Trade with nations on the Most Favored Nation list is exempt from any import taxes, their currencies are accepted in all major metropolitan and tourist areas, and their corporations can freely engage in business activity within the UTR.

Junigka has also approved adding the United Coalition to a list of nations with access to the realms’ most advanced military technology and cooperation in hopes of securing future joint defense-related projects and trade.

Said Foreign Minister Zakarro before a meeting with Chancellor Chamberlain and the UTR Foreign Trade Authority Director General, “The UTR values its long-lasting and peaceful relations with the United Coalition. We hope to take our relations to the next level, and in the process help each nation enhance its economy.”

The trade agreement is expected to produce a 1% boost in each nation’s GDPs.

The Chancellor was also briefed on draft legislation currently being written within the realms’ Technocratic Council of Commerce. The legislation is being written so that other nations can use it as model legislation.

Carol Renvys was one of millions of builders working on the Vvardeni governments' new project, the construction of 125 underground cities as homes for another 125 million people, with a million people per city.
Carol herself thought it slightly eccentric, but at the same time, she was in desperate need herself for a home of her own, and had been crashing in a friend's house for over a year. She was going to live in this one especially, City 3, as one of the people inside.
There were going to be huge doors that weigh almost 13 tons as a measure in case of a nuclear disaster or war, so in such events, the door would close, leaving the people inside until such event was over. The cities were basically huge bunkers, but much more livable, and will have rail connections connecting them to other cities and hubs nearby.
She sighed and brushed away some sweat from her brow and went back to hammering some of the rocks away. Already 15% of this city had been completed, with a few suburbs and a small mall completed and furnished. Already about 1000 people have moved in with their possessions and got given their City 3 jackets and jumpsuits. Gardens had just been constructed and plants were growing and the water recycling had just been installed.
Carol was just about to split a boulder when one of the workmen further down the main tunnel that was going to be the main road started running and screaming. Other workmen looked at the direction he was running from and started to run too. Then she saw it. The tunnel was collapsing.

Today at 2 am in the underground City 3, located outside New Andas, a major rockfall has resulted in the trapping of 1500 people, the injuring of 233 and the confirmed deaths of 71. Commonwealth Becomes Enkon's Largest Economy
The Commonwealth has officially become Enkon's largest economic power with a GDP of over 14,200 trillion (14.2 Quadrillion) NSD; coupled with this announcement came word that the recorded GDPPC of the Commonwealth is now 298,835.54 NSD, again the highest in Enkon. However this news has not allayed serious public concerns over the spread of poverty and the ongoing housing crisis as the growing population struggles to fit into the most densely populated country in the world. Efforts are continuing to try and ensure that this crisis is resolved as swiftly as possible but it has now become apparent that the only what this is going to be possible is to begin a program of massive territorial expansion.

Under a new proposal before the Legislative a total of 8 Administrative Hexed are to be colonised. This latest proposal is the Sogo-Khan Mandate which calls for a mass colonisation effort into unclaimed frontier territory with land grants being issued to those people who apply for them and are willing to move to and work said land for mining, agriculture or pastoral purposes. In addition applications are open for colonists wishing to participate in the construction of new major cities and industrial centres. Major corporations are already bidding for construction and infrastructural contracts which will see major economic growth in these areas.

Last week, a delegation was received by the Unibearian Government from the small Wolven nation of Folosk. The delegation was sent because of rising tensions of the two nations after a border incident that included the armed forces of both nation's clashing in a small skirmish. The cause was from a misfire from a Unibearian border guard, his rifle malfunctioned and fired. This accident caused a Foloskian reaction by firing back and the situation escalated to 500 dead on both sides and almost 4000 injured in total. The Commander in charge of the section was at home for holidays when the incident happened and his second in Command, Commander Brovisk, had lost control of the situation when the power to the wall went down and his radio receivers went offline. Unibearian troops moved 5 miles in Folosk before supreme Command got ahold of the advancing troops and told them to surrender or fall back. Commander Felix said "Our men were edgy, a threat to our King was made public just yesterday and minor hostilities were already made between both Unibearia and Folosk and the situation blew up to a short but bloody battle to whom we apologise greatly for."

To this the nation of Folosk acquired a new leader when it's old one died of a heart attack. The new Leader is named General Kortesk, an old military veteran. He has always supported the Unification of the Bearian (Wolven and human of Bearian dessent) peoples since he was a little boy and he made it clear that he wouldn't take no for an answer. He proposed that he and King Yuri meet even though King Yuri has been in Isolation for 2 years now. But shockingly, the King gave a response; "I think it would be of grave importance that we meet in person on this matter, the Unification of our people should be our main focus" and to this the King has promised he will be returning to his governing position in a couple of months. He has stated that "The recent period of which I have Isolated myself since our Queen went on 'vacation' to refresh my opinion and goal of our glorious nation and I am confident that when I return to my governing position, my goals and objectives will benefit the Bearian people greatly" said Yuri on a public appearance.

"The delegation went well", according to government officials, "We discussed what Folosk wanted, why it wanted it and how should we do it. It appeared that we had been against a brother, a friend, a family member to the Unibearian nation and soon, both nations will be bound together in Union. The United Bearian Dominion." Said a government official, but he also stated that "There are many other Bearian nations, Wolven nations surrounding Unibearia who have also been in Isolation, who have wanted to live in a nation away from the City life, the 'modern world' and in the frontier of Enkon and Unibearia would like to support and aid these nations in developing and joining The United Bearian Dominion.

A treaty will be discussed with officials from Unibearia and Folosk. Estimates show that a final draft will be made public next month.

General Ursus executed

Government officials have just released information that general Ursus has been executed 5 months ago by the order of King Yuri. Although he was going to have a free trial, many of the King's advisors persuaded him to get the international terrorist executed by torture over a 2 week period to whom he died on week 3 after his heart exploded. His remains were burned but it is said that a large amount of his DNA has been mapped and stored safely in the Government's most secure vaults.

Project Lupus on next stage

After enormous Progress on Project Lupus by having 75% of stage 1 and 2 complete, it has been decided that it is deemed ready for it's final stage, the conversion of a renewable economy to reach maximum self-sufficiency in raw resources, in production and food production, this is the Unibearian government's version of autarky but with imports still coming in to fill and even surplus the cracks and needs the country cannot meet. Government subsidies has diverted from arm manufacturers to the mining industry, the automobile industry, the food industry and the space program.

Law enforcement budget to get subsidies from defence budget cuts

After the realisation that Unibearia's crime rate is at it's highest in Unibearian history, the government on a 100-80 vote to take out 500 billion out of the defence budget and into the law enforcement budget to help increase the size and power of the law enforcement and also to give the law enforcement more technology it could not afford before given a budget raise.

Cadet Program reaches an all time high

When a surveil came in that indicated that the Cadet Program had over 85 million youth in it's fun, educational and physical program that teaches Unibearian children military training, survival skills and marksmanship, the government is giving 1 billion dollars in subsidies from the defence budget to help the struggling program with funds and the military has agreed to supply the program with uniforms, advisors, arms and vehicles to help teach the youth.

But when Defence minister Felix said that " it could also do some good to implement a compulsive, very basic military training to high school students to get their diploma. It is unknown whether the government will continue on this subject when the minister of Education said "All the efforts we have done to demilitarize our Glorious Nation have lead to this Idea? Teaching our youth how to use guns and how to fight? This is absurd!"

"Isn't that dangerous?" Voice 1 said. "He could kill us at any moment."
"That's why we have the guards." Voice 2 said.
Then he breathed. And gasped and woke. He was alive. Alive. Alive.
Ursus woke up with a jolt and gasped cold air. He was alive. He looked around, then down at his hands. Unburnt. Pearly. Hands.
He touched them. Then saw his arms. He prodded them with his fingers as well. He was alive.
A wolfen scientist walked by, Voice 1. "Ah, he's awake. Congratulations, General Vaughn Tiberius Ursus. You are alive again."
Ursus tried to speak, and felt his jaw. Unbroken, without flesh hanging from it. And his eyes. He'd forgotten his eyes. He could see out of the left.
"How?" He spoke in a clear voice to Voice 1. His voice was no longer husky, but clear, charismatic, his old voice.
"It was an easy process. Quite easy. You died. We tortured you and you died."
Ursus looked around smiling. He was in a padded room, like the ones used in mental institutions, and he was in something, a construct. Like the hibernators on the S.S.S Vvarden. A cloning machine, he assumed.
Then he realised. They had killed him. They had hurt him, depraved him until he just couldn't live. He remembered. Pokers. Sleep deprivation. They even pushed him into a boiling pot of water, filled with salt to pain the wounds as the skin peeled off from the heat. The bastards. The fucking bastards.
He roared and grabbed the scientist by the neck and started strangling him. Then he got tazed.
He woke up in a greasy suit inside King Yuri's office.
"Seriously Ursus. I would've thought that you would be peaceful for once."
That voice. King Yuri's. He smelt the alcohol in his breath.
Ursus looked at him. Yuri had changed. His eyes had bags under them from stress. When in the prison, he heard rumors King Yuri was going mad and drinking away troubles.
"I've been heaps less violent in this life than you have. How many people did you kill at Death's Charge, hmmmm? More than I have a thousand times more."
Yuri smiled. "Same old Ursus. Those deaths were in the name of progress. Now look at us. A thriving country."
Ursus stood up and did his trademark Ursus wide smile.
"Still ruled by a mad king. Deaths are deaths, regardless of progress. You know, I heard the rumor of your madness at the very bottom of the dungeon. And I heard it often, so how much is it muttered on the surface I wonder?"
Yuri growled.
"I am not mad." He warned.
Ursus shook his head. "Still drinking. You didn't even order a trial. Qualities of a ruler trying to get rid of a threat at all costs. And you're being paranoid. Rumors of your assassination and you declare all borders closed? Johans Derrik has more threats on his life and he is relaxed, still dating a Caisian ambassador."
Yuri raised an eyebrow at the last sentence. "A Caisian?"
"That's just a rumor Yuri. You ARE mad. We all are in some way. It only takes something to bring it out. For you it was your wife and children leaving you. How much it must have hurt Yuri? A lot."
"ENOUGH!" Yuri screamed. " You owe me for giving you your young body! Now leave! LEAVE YOU STUPID CUNT! BEFORE I CHANGE MY BLOODY MIND! GET HIM OUT OF HERE! TOSS HIM OUT OF THE COUNTRY!" Yuri grabbed Ursus' old mask and tossed it at him.
"GO!"
Then they all went. Ursus was now free. Free. What had he done?
Yuri sat down at his desk and clutched at the white fur on top of his head.
"I can't be mad." He spoke to a plant nearby. "I can't be."

President Johans Derrik reveals relationship to Caisian Ambassador

After answering questions that the Vvardeni public have asked after a new spate of rumors spread throughout the nation that President Derrik was in a relationship, President Derrik revealed himself having a dating relationship with the Caisian Ambassador Daxtarian Oryn. Unibearian military is allowed to grow to 5 million combat personnel with agreement of Arcadian Commonwealth

After months of negotiating, the Arcadian Commonwealth has finally allowed a the Unibearian military some room to work with by allowing it's current size of 3.5 million combat personnel to grow to 5 million. This would allow for the older veterans in combat status to be moved to non-combat status and be moved into training institutions like cadet schools, training schools and become potential generals. At the same time, the older Cadets in the Cadet Program will be moved to reserve status and will undergo a 2 year training program to bring them into combat status. The overall project is to increase Unibearia's land army and Airforce (which is soon to be directly implemented into the navy and army by reforms that are coming soon) to better protect Unibearia against threats and remain less dependent on Arcadian aid if ever it happened. To this, some 5,000 tanks have been bought from the Arcadian Commonwealth to start replacing some of the older t-72m MBTs that are reaching their expiry date. These tanks will be put into elite Divisions such as the Dominion Guards, Royal Guards and the newly formed Elite Corps (Which is comprised of the best soldiers in the entire Unibearian military, it currently numbers 7,000 men and 13,000 Wolven).

Many have heard of the Unibearian nuclear program which caused the USS and the Arcadian Commonwealth to all up declare war on Unibearia (The USS declared war because of the construction of the wall) and the Nuclear program, which already was producing nuclear warheads of various yields for over 3 years was reduced to a civil-program under heavy supervision, all it's progress noted and many of Unibearia's greatest scientists in nuclear physics were arrested after information was found that they were making homemade nukes and selling it to the Unibearian military. But those days are in the past because today, Unibearia's energy department and the Department of R&B celebrate the construction of an experimental fusion reactor that will be the base of Unibearia's Nuclear energy research. Years have pasted since the vary first plasma was made and now, the first successful fusion of Deuterium with deuterium was made. The location of the reactor has been kept secret to the public but has been released to the foreign observers who come from the USS and the Arcadian Commonwealth.

And with this, a company with the name of Deuro-Collect, has started building facilities to which it collects deuterium and sells it internationationaly but is also Unibearia's largest source of Deuterium second after the Arcadian Commonwealth.

"Welcome back, General Vaughn Tiberius Ursus, to Vvarden." Tobias escorted Ursus into the room and then sat down on a green, ornate lounge chair.
The room surrounding them was a library, as seen by it's many shelves in which thousands of books were stacked, some of them even from Terra and the Earth-That-Was. There were spiraled staircases at opposite ends of the room, leading upstairs to a small balcony view of the library. The walls were made of dark mahogany and it must have cost a fortune to build. Alas, so was the rest of the Kenway House.
General Ursus sat down on another green lounge chair, opposite Tobias.
Tobias pulled out a large bottle and some glasses and placed them onto the coffee table between them.
"Ah, Barossa Valley, 2012, South Australian. Only two in existence, eh Ursus? Luckily I have the other bottle, and this is a celebration, so why not use it now?"
Ursus nodded slowly.
"Something troubling you, old friend?" Tobias exclaimed.
Ursus sighed. "That Unibearian prison, the things they did, sleep deprivation, pokers, electrocution, boiling. Well, good thing I was cloned, because they were just about to break me. But I am glad I am here, safe and sound. How many bodyguards are here?"
A large pop sounded as the cork from the Barossa Valley wine flew into the air, and slightly dislodged a small radio, which then started playing "Louie, Louie" in the background.
"Over 9000. Many of whom are paid handsomely." Tobias smiled.
"Speaking of which, Tobias, how do you get so rich?" Came Ursus' question.
"Ah, many things, ammunition, arms manufacturing, stock markets, plantations, farming, soda even. If you can find something without a Cato logo on it, you can have this house."
Ursus chuckled. "Well, I did spot an add for Fizzy Pop and that had no Cato logo on it."
Tobias stood up and did a mock bow.
"The house is yours, friend."
They laughed at this and then paused.
"So tell me, what do you plan to do next? The next move on the chessboard?"
Ursus questioned Tobias.
"I plan to find something. Something hidden, of great power. In the Divide."
"Divide? I have been there dozens of times. There is no great power there."
Tobias stood up and walked off to a desk ad came back with some maps.
"Ah! That's the thing. It's hidden. Let me show you this."
Tobias parted some maps to reveal an ancient stone stelae.
"Here." Tobias placed it on the coffee table between them.
"That writing is...odd. Truly." Ursus said, staring at the stone writing.
It was somewhat like hieroglyphs, but more crude and simpler with simple pictograms.
"Yes. It is odd. But I have found a connection. Only a few months back, when I went to Caisus, I saw a stone hieroglyph, just like this in their museum."
Tobias handed Ursus a picture of another hieroglyph, like the one in front, but older.
"According to the Caisian historians, that was recovered when possibly Caisians had their first civilisation here before leaving and coming back. It references a fiery chasm, a split in the earth, where savages hide and an Arcology filled with ghosts. A literal underground city. Filled with tech so highly advanced, this stelae refers to it as magic, possibly more advanced than the Arcadians. We need to find it as it references an Observatory that, I quote, sees through the eyes of all."
Ursus scoffed and took a swill of the wine.
"Think of what we could do with it. Spy on everyone, make sure no-one is backstabbing, vicious, murderous and violent again! Or we could possibly manipulate people, make someone press one little button and have that big revert back to ancient times like you wanted Ursus!"
Ursus shook his head. "It isn't real. I've been in the Divide, walked past every village and canyon. There is no underground city."
"Ah! But it says here, on this stelae that it is in a Snake Canyon. Now,"
Tobias peeled open a map of the Divide and plastered a finger to a squiggly canyon. "Here it should be, right underneath the Blackfoot village. The question is, how to get them to leave."
"They won't leave easily, I know them."
Ursus frowned.
"But, with my connections with the military, I can persuade the military to charge into the village, guns blazing and then to blow the place up, revealing our underground city."
Ursus grumbled. "Fine, I'll join you. But make sure there is something there, or you won't be able to speak again."

Commonwealth Begins Lunar Colonisation
Following the return of one of the three survey fleets dispatched to search for minerals beyond Enkon the decision has been made by the Commonwealth government to fund a colonisation effort to Enkon's moon, Anlu in order to begin mining and deuterium synthesis operations there. Though the precise results of the survey have not been made public the government has stated that sufficient valuable mineral deposits are present to justify large scale colonisation efforts with a view to mining and industrial expansion. Under the plan five major mining facilities will be established supported by surface colonies which will use bio-dome and life support technology to maintain self sufficiency; each facility will initially be built around the frame of a large mining colonisation ship and will rely upon the engines and generators built into them for power before switching to solar energy.

Under the proposals the five lunar colonies will have their own local governments and will collectively be considered as a province of the Commonwealth for the purposes of governance. As such the lunar colonies will be entitled to representatives in the Legislative and citizens will have full Commonwealth citizenship. With growing overcrowding and increasingly limited opportunity available on Enkon a large segment of the current generation are expected to sign up to join the colonisation effort.

The five facilities shall be named after the colonisation ships from which they are constructed and shall house 1 million people each. The three ships currently under construction in the Eos Orbital Shipyards have been named Yuequi, Zhu and Gu Er with the remaining two yet to begin construction and yet to be named. President Junigka Launches “Battle for the Future” Reform Agenda in Wake of UTR Lackluster Performance in Latest Regional Economic Report

MARIA - President Junigka kicked-off the new year with a pre-emptive strike against a lagging economy and her critics by placing the blame for the United Realms lackluster performance in the latest regional economic report squarely on the governments of the individual realms and promising federal action.

The president announced the creation of two special, independent anti-corruption divisions within the Ministry of Law & Order.

A Government Anti-Corruption Office will be empowered to look into and prosecute allegations of corruption against public officials at all levels of government from local to federal. It will be headed by Henrik Tzujehr, currently serving as Chief Prosecutor for Szkehnja. He is a well-known anti-corruption reformer known most for taking down the Pink Smog Gang, a notorious Nedean youth mafia that terrorized Hritszberhga’s Nedean minority community for over a decade before Tzujehr busted-up the gang in an undercover sting on its pony-fight gambling operations across the realm in 2659.

New legislation requiring polluting industries to adopt better anti-toxicity technologies will be passed. The legislation will also include a ж5 trillion assistance fund to support small and mid-sized businesses adopt the technology.

The president also announced a new Community Health Clinics division within the Ministry of Health that will open and operate more than 70,000 local community clinics and “mega-clinics,” or small scale hospitals, across the UTR. The clinics, each of which will have at least one general practitioner doctor and a registered nurse on staff at all times will also have enough beds for between 5 to 60 patients. The clinics will help alleviate pressure on the UTR’s stressed healthcare systems by providing routine health services and minor medical emergency care. They will also serve as front-line medical centers during natural and manmade emergencies.

The Realms Health & Medical Research Authority also got a major boost when the president announced that RHMRA would receive long requested funding to expand its medical technology and pharmaceuticals research laboratories in Xyckron, Szkehnja.

The last “economic vice” the president identified was income inequality, saying, “The concentration of wealth in few hands leads to economic stagnation. The president announced an Earned Income Assistance program for families earning less than ж25,000 per RP year, and individuals earning less than ж15,000.

The program also includes employment assistance in the form of skills training and job placement with companies that will receive tax breaks for participating in the jobs program.

Low cost housing will also be constructed and made available to low income families and individuals as part of the program. President Junigka announced that 500,000 new low-cost housing units will be constructed across the UTR in 2664.

New Toola - With the new year reports coming in across the globe, the New Toolan government was pleased to see that the economy is on the rise. The New Toolan government has stated that there are multiple reasons for this progression.

The first major cause is the fact that the war in Otundi Kogo is dying down. With Otundi Kogan forces surrendering across the war front, the wartime budget is finally normalizing. The war has been costing New Toola millions since the beginning of the war. With the war seemingly close to an end, funding towards the war is tarting to decline. This has led to excess funds that have been used for the construction of new buildings across the nation.

The second major cause is that manufacturing is on the rise due to a strong demand for construction and products. With news of the construction of two new cities in the east. Demand for workers has allowed for the hiring of many poorer citizens across the nation. Product demand has also caused a surge in mining and refining.

The final major cause reported was the fact that the poorer class is on the rise. The NCLB Act has been a major cause of helping poorer families afford education. Pro Small Business policies have caused thousands of small businesses to sprout up across the nation. The Middle Class has had a surge over the past five years and is said to continue.

I sit at my desk, my office door is closed and I lean back in my chair. My contacts in Unibearia have told me Ursus has been set free, cloned and healthy. I take a deep breath in "I'm fine I'm calling because I heard Ursus was let free before we could get it him". He responds casually "oh yes well don't worry about that you don't need to give me that money back, instead I might have another job for you that could earn you the rest and more". Relief rushes through my body "The guild is always looking for work, what are the details?". "No no I don't have them yet, this is mostly resting on Ursus's shoulders". They started building late last night and are still working now, we're calling the city Sarkon. As for nationality they're mostly New Toolian but there's a couple from the Arcadian Commonwealth and even one from Thalmath. The Thalmathian is an odd fellow, he seems like he's been through a lot but he was nice enough" Niaska informs me. Intrigued I ask "How many of them are there?". "Almost 2000, it's not much but it's a start" she says. We reach the council room Izca sits at the hardwood table, Victus plays on the floor beside her. Krakkus found a bunch of miners holed up in one of the ruined villages and brought them here. Their mine in the UTR was shut down and they heard New Wolfeinstein was the land of new beginnings so they came here. They've found a good abundance of quality diamonds and iron so far, they also said in the tunnel next to the one their working in was a gold vein. My next announcement is about the guild, we're swamped with contracts. Everything from robbery to arson to murder, We have to start recruiting soon. My final statement is about getting out of the country. We've been using a tunnel we found that leads from Caliginosum to a another cave cluster 100 kilometres away from the Arcadian quarantine wall. It's big enough to fit a buggy in and that what we've been using to go back and forth as well. "Excellent, we are progressing nicely" I say with a smile. "I am starting to scope out other countries for a place we can setup a new guild and start recruiting from but it's going to take time. I'm also thinking of getting some jewellers in here to polish those stones and sell that gold but that's only if I can find some. My final thought is refurbishing our cover company, we're currently using the Red Glove one with our anti tracking methods. President Johans Derrik's office was empty of any humans. Paintings hung up on the walls, some from Land-after-Earth and some even from Earth-that-was.
Then two figures walked on the room. One was President Derrik and the other was Chief Elder Simmons, from New Toola.
"As you can see, Chief Elder, I am a collector of Old World items." Johans explained all the items in his room to the Chief Elder.
"Very interesting. Now, as I understand, Vvarden is a proud and accepting country in terms of sexual orientation." The Chief Elder asked.
"Oh, indeed Chief Elder. I myself am a bisexual." Johans responded.
"And you are currently dating another man aren't you?"
"Yes. I am. Daxtarian is a wonderful man, with a big personality. I love him dearly with all my heart. I do hope this doesn't disturb you, Chief Elder."
"Oh not at all. Its just, do your people believe in God as I heard?"
"We believe in an All, a godlike power, and our bible is much more liberal, but no, we don't worship God."
"Interesting. So a gay sexual orientation is accepted in your bible?"
"Yes. It is." Johans nodded.
A figure burst into the room wearing star patterned robes and a mask. A Caisian.
"Ah. Chief Elder Simmons, meet my boyfriend, Daxtarian Oryn."
Daxtarian and the Chief Elder shook hands and Daxtarian spoke "A pleasure to meet you Chief Elder Simmons. Johans, can I talk to you about something?"
Johans nodded and then addressed the Chief Elder. "Oh, I hope you don't mind waiting. It'll only be a minute."
Daxtarian and Johans then walked out of the room into a nearby, uninhabited office.
"Johans." Dax said "I...I've been replaced from my job as Ambassador. They said I was a...bad influence and that we should never had dated in the first place."
"Oh, Dax."
"Well, right now it seems that I have basically no connection to home now. My only link to Caisus is cut." Daxtarian had sadness in his voice now.
"Dax, we could always go to Caisus at any time." Johans smiled. "Any time."
Dax sighed. "Okay."
"We'll talk about this later."
Johans and Dax left the office and parted ways for the moment.
Johans walked back into his study where the Chief Elder was inspecting a hand painted figure. Napoleon's Armee Du Nord, hand made by two brothers in the 19th Century.
"Don't touch that, it's priceless. Only five left." Johans warned.
"Now about what I've been hearing about duels in Vvarden, do they really fight with actual swords?" The Chief Elder asked.
"Not just actual swords, their own swords. Any Vvardeni upon reaching the age of 16 gets a sword specially made for their own fighting style."
Johans Derrik drew a short-sword from a scabard that the Chief Elder didn't even notice before.
"Here is mine. Inspect it if you wish."
The Chief Elder ran his hands along the sword and saw the writing at the hilt.
"What does that say?" The Chief Elder said.
"Acharn. That's the name of my sword. An ancient Vvarden word for order and ferocity."
"Order AND ferocity?"
Johans chuckled. "Yes. An odd combination indeed. It was my father's sword, and his father's before that and so on. I heard it was made on the Earth-that-was."
"Thank you for this insight, President Derrik." The Chief Elder sat up. "I hope to speak with you soon."
"And you will, or have you forgot? Vvardeni Historical Museum tour tomorrow."
"Oh yes," The Chief Elder smiled at the fact that he had forgotten. "I forgot."
"Well thank you."
"And you." Johans replied.
Then the Chief Elder walked out of Johan's office, leaving Johans inside.
He went to grab the telephone when it rang but his arm swerved and the Armee Du Nord figure fell onto the ground, where the head snapped off fully.

CAF Forces Reinforce Wolfeinstein Containment Ring
The CAF force currently maintaining the WCR which prevents anyone from leaving the troubled country of Wolfeinstein has been reinforced with a total of 11 million personnel now deployed around the territory; beyond the statement announcing this troop movement however there has been no additional word on why this decision has been taken and the government has yet to comment. It is speculated that the deployment comes as a result of reports of certain undesirable organisations have begun the spring up within the territory which look to unite the disparate and dangerous people dwelling there into a new nation.

According to a government spokesman the official policy relating to the WCR and Wolfeinstein remains unchanged, that is that people are free to enter the territory but not leave it and that anyone who enters does so fully aware of the risk of annihilation. Accordingly Commonwealth orbital assets remain in place prepared to launch orbital bombardments at a moment's notice - this however is nothing new. Commonwealth officials have been deeply concerned over the werewolf problem for some time and it is no secret that there is a growing movement within the Legislative pushing for a full extermination operation. Otundi Kogan War nearing an end

Otundi Kogo - New Toolan Military Command has stated that the war in Otundi Kogo is nearing an end. Since the capture of Admiral Zanzabar, Allied Forces have captured Mufaba. New Toolan forces launched a major assault on the city of Le. After two weeks of heavy fighting, New Toolan soldier have taken the city.

With this news, the only cities left are K'wadi and Lesser K'wadi. Allied Forces have a grip on the remaining enemy combatants. Pro Democracy forces have assisted the Allied Forces in its attacks against the terror regimes.

A rumor has surfaced that New Toolan forces may have operatives within K'wadi. The New Toolan Heavy Fleet and UTR Ships have engaged the Kogan Auxiliary Fleet led by Admiral Juhen who is considered the final Otundi Kogan leader still pushing for war.

I sit behind my desk looking at the massive pile of paperwork in front of me, a butterfly knife order form and the deed to an old scrap metal facility in Nedopolis rest at the top. I look down and shuffle through the most recent stuff till I find the bill of sale for the new guild house in Vvarden. I dial the number clipped to the top of the booklet and let it ring. A cheery female voice answers "Hello Rebecca Tomson real estate agent speaking how may I help you". I breath in then reply "Yes hello this Astergon Serville calling, I'm interested in purchasing the Sanguiin house in New Andas". We continue to discuss the details, I wire her the money and she gives me the deed. I wasn't worried, that account was linked through Nedean banking service, they keep your details safe in exchange for a ridiculous fee every month. Plus even if someone was to hack into the database and find out who owned it, it was registered to an old dead guy from the USS named Astergon. I now had two new guild centres one that cost me a small fortune and one that I bought with blood. The scrap company would also serve to make me a good bit of money, people give me their old garbage and I recycle, refine and resell. But it wasn't like money was a concern anymore, we have an endless supply of cash coming from the contracts ever since we found that tunnel leading out of the zone and I recruited some jewellers yesterday. The mine was finally allowing us to manufacture our own weapons and we started rebuilding some of the factories just outside Sarkon. Life was pretty good right now and it was only going to get better.

The newly arrived document was the most ancient thus far of the information passed to Grand Prince Kray from the Lady Archivist of Caisus. It was hardly as groundbreaking as the document linking the histories of Caisus and Desolaas-Tyvenia – which made the request from the Ajerri leader Ulbricht surprising. Even more so since the thing was classified. So classified that Ulbricht sacrificed his spy to Desolaan authorities in order to get a copy of the document.

The letter of explanation that accompanied it from the Caisan scholars was disappointing. Over the past several months, Kray became accustomed to reading overanalyzed, peer-reviewed (yet somehow still classified) articles on each document.

The scarcity of information here, caused Kray to wonder if Ulbricht had also been sending demand letters to Caisus, rushing their normally thorough processes. Getting spies in to Caisus was difficult, almost impossible, a fact Kray faced firsthand when he had very limited success placing the former oligarchy’s operatives within Caisan society. But Ajerrin had more resources, and a greater number of people to throw at the problem than Desolaas-Tyvenia.

Regardless whether Ajerrin had spies within the United Commonwealths, Ulbricht had shown an unusual obsession with the records. It wasn’t until Kray reviewed the document that he understood Ulbricht’s willingness to give up his deeply-entrenched agent. According to Caisus, it was dated around The Schism of Desolaas and Caisus. The notes were mostly conjectural, but presumed that the record was received by some ancient Caisan scholar either directly, or from a close family or friend, of the scholar from Desolaas.

The Allied Fleet engages the Kogan Auxiliary Fleet

The S.S. O'Neil engaging a Kogan Ship after taking a hit

Otundi Kogan Southern Waters - The Allied Fleet of both the New Toolan Heavy Fleet and the UTR First and Second Northern Fleet has engaged the Otundi Kogan Auxiliary Fleet. The Allied Fleet is led by New Toolan Admiral Richard Henderson. Military Intelligence has stated that the leader of the Kogan Force is Admiral Juhen who is known for moving his fleet during the Civil War occurring in Staedetler a few years ago.

Admiral Juhen is also known now as the final Otundi Kogan military leader still actively fighting the Allied Force directly. The outcome of this battle will be the battle that decides if Otundi Kogo can combat the Allied Force. If the Auxiliary Fleet is destroyed, the Allied Forces can have a direct and safe supply line via sea.
