A Warning

Postby Vhammpyr » Fri Aug 24, 2012 7:26 am

TO: President J. Kennedy, Aerosalia
FROM: Count Ghorzh Vardek, Minister of War

President Kennedy,

It is the wish of my Queen to inform you that you may do as you wish in your quest to blockade the region of Gholgoth. She is quite impressed with the level of sincerity and vehemence in your stated goal. Your level of foolishness has also been noted.

Nonetheless, it is given to nations to do as they see fit, so long as they are prepared to accept the consequences of their actions.

In your haste to chasten Gholgoth, the Queen needs you to know that if for some reason you want or need to pass through our waters or our skies, you will be met with all force. No warning will be issued. We will simply destroy any and all Aerosalian forces who intrude upon our sovereignty.

regards,

Count Vardek, in the Name of Her Vhammpyric Majesty, Queen Sybele Tan'it, High Priestess of Set, High Lady of Vhammpyr and Aeternu.

to Aerosalia:
President Kennedy, this will be our last warning. If you or your allies damage property of Gholgoth we need to protect our investments. After all this amount topped your whole budget at least 10 times. If this protection included a act of war so be it. We are with Gholgoth in this case and should you seek an escalation you will get more than yo ever wanted.

From Bone Fort Central Command

To Whomever it may concern,

The Armed Republic of Bone Fort stands true to our word. Any nation that takes military action against Aerolsia can expect a full-scale retaliation from Bone Fort. Any saboteurs or WMD's we have hidden in your nation will be activated and wreck havoc, and many of your citizens will die. We will make you bleed.

That is all.

People's Commissariat of External Relations of the Glorious People's Union of Asacia
Comisariado Popular de Relaciones Exteriores de la Gloriosa Unión Popular de Asacia

To the esteemed representatives of the Kingdom of Phoenixia;

It is with great concern and consideration for the fate of the Phoenixian people ... that the People's Commissariat of External Relations of the Glorious People, through an unanimous vote of the People's Party and with the will of the people, hereby declares that the Glorious People's Union is at a state of war with the Kingdom of Phoenixia.

It has come to the attention of the People's Commissariat that the Phoenixian Department of Defense has issued a warning and a thinly-veiled threat to the United States of Aerosalia. As an ally, we find this to be unacceptable.

The terms of surrender for the Kingdom of Phoenixia are as follows: there will be no terms of surrender.

Of course, you could try, but we of the Glorious People's Union of Asacia have deemed that Phoenixia poses a significant risk to the success of our international operations and security, and as such, will do all within our power to render the Phoenixian government incapable of waging war. All Phoenixian citizens have been deemed conspirators of the state, and will be treated as such.

Should the Kingdom of Phoenixia declare itself neutral and cease all interactions with the Gholgoth regional alliance, the People's Commissariat is willing to reconsider its stance. At this time, however, prepare to be assimilated by the will of the people.

P.O. Box 409 34th Revolutionary Street
3053-59R D04 Verviet, Asacia
Ever a servant of the People's Union,

Miguel Frederigo de Garcia
Chief Commissar of External Relations

The above is an official message from the People's Commissariat of External Relations.

The Glorious Peoples' Union of Asacia
Prepare to be assimilated.

to The Glorious People's Union of Asacia:
Your declaration of war is hereby acknowledged, understood and returned.
We don't want a escalation like this but we will not back our words. Trough your declaration of war we will send the whole first attack fleet to the Gholgothan coast. This includes 10 Aircarrier and 4 Battleships and 10 Assault ships with their groups. They should remain there in case they are needed. Should they attacked we will defend with all needed measures.
We have investments to protect, this includes ships, tanks and bank accounts. Also the Empire of Yohannes, member of Gholgothan region is a long term supplier for our military we don't want to lost.
sincerely

Federal Republic of RandomGuyNation
Ministry of Foreign Affairs

To: James Kennedy, President, United States of Aerosalia
From: Clifton Rutledge II, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Federal Republic of RandomGuyNation
Subject: Concerning your country's recent Embargo of Gholgoth
Encryption: Moderate

To President James Kennedy,

It is the opinion of the Federal Republic of RandomGuyNation that your embargo of all Gothic trade is, frankly put, pure insanity. It would be highly prudent of you to first of all note how small your national population is, followed by the size of your virtually nonexistent military forces. If Gholgoth were to move against Aerosalia as retribution for your embargo - which, if I may add, you lack the power to enforce - it will only be by some divine miracle that the United States of Aerosalia would survive the onslaught.

I also wish to point out that not all nations within Gholgoth are "expansionist, imperial-like and warmongering," as you so brazenly stated in your initial diplomatic communique. Your sweeping generalization of the region only serves to offend and anger the truly just , peaceful, and freedom-loving nations within - the ones who believe in the same values your nation upholds - and amuse those who, though indeed imperialistic and severe threats to world peace and stability, would triumph over and completely destroy your nation in a heartbeat.

For the good of the people of your nation, the people that, as their leader, you have are obliged to protect, I strongly urge you to reconsider your course of action, lest the United States of Aerosalia find itself in the sights of the many, many guns of the nations of Gholgoth. While I admire your cause and your bravery, I cannot help but believe that should your country continue down this current path, it would only bring death and destruction to all of Aerosalia. It matters not how many flock to your banner, how ferociously your soldiers fight, or how courageous your people prove to be in the face of death, for the end result will always be the same.

Official Communique

Good morning,

We have been monitoring the situation at hand since Aerosalia's bold declaration of a region-wide embargo upon Gholgoth. While we are, at this time, not concerned about such an embargo being successful given the vast difference in powers on each side of the conflict, we do implore Aerosalia to reconsider its stance. We have seen time and time again what the powers in Gholgoth - most notably Automagfreek - have done to nations much more powerful than your own.

You seek to liberate the world, yet you do so in a way that is begging for defeat. There are far more effective ways to succeed, and that does not include an embargo upon a large, powerful collection of nations, some of whom are global economic powerhouses who will dispatch your troops with devastating blows quickly as to preserve their economic strength. ViZion would do the same.

We will be closing monitoring the situation. As it stands right now, we will remain neutral. However, we do have neutral to positive relations with a few nations in Gholgoth, including an ally in The Borman Empire. Should this embargo grow to pose a threat to our ally, our hand will be forced in the matter to defend our ally.

President James Kennedy, I pray that you will come to your senses before it is too late for you, your people, and your vision of liberty for others.

Thank you.

President Richard Martello

Preparation

Postby Vhammpyr » Fri Aug 24, 2012 10:19 am

Deep within the Sacred Mountain of Dis, Queen Sybele held court for the first time in over two hundred years. The somber hued columns of black basalt, grey and purple marble, violet, scarlet, and onyx jade lent an air of menace and terror in the smoke-filled Throne Room of the Queen.

The scent of the Black Lotus permeated the air, an intoxicating, mind-numbing aroma that was a perpetual part of the Queen's chambers.

Large serpents slithered along the filthy floor of the room, skeletal remains, human and otherwise, scattered hither and yon. The faint stench of old blood and rotting meat emanated from the smouldering censers hanging from the high ceiling.

In front of the Throne in a semi-circle stood several beings, vaguely humanoid in shape. Vhammpyric Warriors, Wolven, Dark Elves and a few Other Worldly creatures, a brooding, menacing, violent aura hovering over all.

In a sibilant, ethereal hiss, Sybele spoke. "So, my Warriors. You tell me that there is a plan afoot to somehow hamper they of Gholgoth? Pray tell, who is mad enough to attempt this?"

One of the huge Wolven said, "My Queen, a miscreant nation named Aerosalia. They feel that their crusade is just."

"On what grounds?"

"That Gholgoth, and Automagfreek in particular, is evil. To them, evil must be destroyed."

The Queen paused. "This nation has not responded to our warning?"

"No, my Queen. And now there are others joining their cause."

Sybele's scarlet, serpentine eyes glared with malevolence. "You are aware that the last time this happened, there was war for a thousand years. Half the planet was utterly vanquished and for centuries there was a Dark Age where we ruled unopposed. Perhaps this is part of the next cycle, eh?"

Her Supreme High General, Lord Vashti Junn, his gutteral gravel voice echoing throughout the room, said, "Aye, M'lady. I remember that time well! We were not as prepared then as we are now. I have over five million Warriors in an awakened state, ready to fight, kill, and feast on the carcasses of our enemies! And you know that we have over ten billion more in stasis. They can be activated in less than twenty days, but only a million at a time."

The Queen sat silent for a second. "General, start the awakening process for the first million. In twenty days we will have better information as to the path that this madness is taking. Perhaps we won't need anymore. Perhaps we will."

Turning to a hooded, bedraggled wreck of a being, she asked, "Admiral, how would you advise us?"

From seemingly all corners of the Throne Room, a voice of a thousand waters murmered, "My Lady, I would deploy two of our Carrier Battle Groups at the limits of our territorial waters in the north. As you know, if these foolish humans intend to send their ships as a blockade, they could very well come within just eighteen nautical miles of our borders. A show of force would undoubtedly keep them at a distance. But, with these humans, you never know."

"Yes, quite. Very well, Admiral. Make it so. Make it one of the Warhammer groups along with one of the Predator groups. Forty-odd warships of Vhammpyr should be enough of a deterrent."

Baron Tishh, Air Commander of the Northern Fleet, asked, "And my bombers, Majesty? Surely we should have three to four squadrons at the ready if it comes to all-out war?"

She gazed at the little creature. "Yes, a thoughtful query, Commander. Yes, have a squadron of Python B-3s, and a squadron of B-1 Constrictors on standby."

"Further orders, Majesty?"

"yes. Inform this President Kennedy once again that we will not tolerate any intrusion into our affairs. And send a note to Phoenexia that we are offering any and all help if they should require it."

"Aye, Majesty, at once.

All was in readiness, and she chuckled to herself at the thought of massive bloodletting and the expansion of her kingdom...........

The handle on the door turned but did not open, Laurent Kibaki pushed gently and then harder, finally putting his shoulder to the door it creaked open. How many times would he have to request that someone fix the door. He was the President after all. Still needs must, fixing the door seemed like a trivial concern when thinking of the suffering outside this very building.

He was distracted this morning, since reading a report from SOLIDARITY. It was made clear that the embargo of Golgoth by an alliance of nations and the possibility of full scale war could lead to deaths of thousands in Miskito. The Yohannesische Bundesbank was one of the nation’s primary aid donors and perhaps more importantly managed the assets of SOLIDARITY. If the embargo was enforced then the cut in aid could see people across his nation dying and if SOLIDARITYs financial assets were affected it could see staff across the nation going without pay, public anger and riots would follow. It had happened before, all too frequently, in Miskito and his position was far too fragile to survive this.

It could not be let to happen, this was his time, he had to be strong in the eyes of the International community. But the nation’s options were very limited. He could count his ships on one hand and as for the air force, well a couple of dozen antiquated planes with limited weaponry would hardly scare any nation, never mind the powers in question in this conflict. More to the point the Golgoth alliance would not need his assistance or perhaps even desire it. This was not about a war though. This was placing a footprint in the halls of the International Community. He was convinced his ships would never see conflict, certainly not on the front line but taking a stand would enhance his standing among his fellow World Leaders.

Two forms whirled off the out dated printer in the corner of the room. The first was an order to the head of the armed forces. Two ships, a large patrol boat, the MNS Utanga and a smaller missile boat, the MNS Naru were to be sent to the theatre. They were built in the late 80’s and had seen better years. The armaments were almost obsolete. A further vessel, the patrol boat MNS Adobe was sent to accompany the incoming SOLIDARITY shipment. The three would be of little use in conflict but their presence alone would send the required statement. Furthermore the ground and air forces were ordered to a state of readiness in the unlikely event of an attack on Miskito. He scribbled his signature before turning his attention to the second piece of paper.

From: Laurent Kibaki, President of The Miskito Coast
Subject: The Golgoth Crisis
Classification: Semi Secure

Dear Esteemed Leaders,

As leaders of our collective nations we have a responsibility to ensure the safety and survival of our people. It is with great sadness that we have born witness to the events unfolding in Golgoth. The act of war should always be considered as an action of last resort. The accompanying loss and life and destruction should never be considered as an effective form of diplomacy in a modern society. However as we in The Miskito Coast tragically know all too well events can often spiral out of control. We urge all nations to take a step back and consider the ramifications of this rush to war.

The Miskito Coast relies heavily on Golgoth nations for both economic aid and financial arrangements and as such we offer our support to the region at this time of crisis. As a precautionary measure we have ordered our military to a state of readiness and have dispatched three of our naval warships to Golgoth. These ships are sent to ensure the continued aid and financial deliveries and have been ordered not to engage the allied nations unless threatened.

However any attempt to disrupt our shipments or measures taken to this end will be responded to the full extent of our capabilities.

Sincerely,

Berlina Port Naval Yard , Near The UWONS Retribution
August 24th, 2012

Admiral Striker after his binge drinking fiasco last night had taken a taxi accompanied by several armed sailors back to the naval yard where there sat in port, the Retribution. He had a massive headache and was not in the slight greatest mood this early afternoon. He rose out from the back of the Taxi as a sailor paid off the taxi driver and made it's departure. Several more sailors were on deck of the Retribution as Admiral Striker walked up the stairs and set foot on deck as the sailors snapped to attention as Admiral Striker took a glance at them.

"Admiral on deck!" announced a nearby sailor as the sailors on deck gave a salute as Admiral striker waved and soon was off to the stairs leading down to the lower levels of the ship. As he went through the levels of the ship taking a early walk through the ship as sailors stopped to stand at attention and salute there admiral incharge of the strike group and a volenteer from ONCOM. After several more minutes of walking the ship he was in his command and control room as he asked one of the sailors for a glass of water and some pills to soothe his headache which was not making his day very pleasent. He sat back in his armchair in full uniform and rubbed his temple as a sailor entered the room with a glass of water in one hand and two pills in the other as the Admiral took the pills and put them in his mouth and drank some water down as he sighed in relief after swallowing the pills down.

"Sitrep now, sailor"

"We are almost fully ready to depart, Admiral Striker." the sailor said as other sailors sat around near the important equipment in the room. Admiral Striker put his glass of water in the cupholder in his armchair as he nodded and rubbed his chin. He had noticed soon enough that his headache was depleting slowly and it made him feel more confortable already.

"Exellent. Announce to me when we are fully ready for departure" he said before adding something in before the sailor left. "Oh and get me more water please" he finished as the sailor nodded in compliance as he took the glass and was off to do his whim to the Admiral.

Mularia Naval Port Yard , UWONS Vengence Nimitz Aircraft Carrier
Three Days Ago..

Andrew Pullock was carrying his green camoflauge luggage bag as he looked upon the ship he'd be assigned too. The Vengence which was where Andrew was assigned too for this conflict which was to embargo the region of Gholgoth. He had not heard much about the region but that there was a civil war which killed billions and that most of the nations within Gholgoth were superpowers of the world. He didn't much care about them or what they're nations represented or anything. He came here to be a sailor and that was it, he was standing in a long line of other sailors that were assigned to The Vengence as they're deployment date would be the twenty fourth of August. He had lived in Mularia for some time after graduating from highschool and his parents telling him he needed to move out and 'find himself'. He had found himself in Mularia where shopping at a grochery store he met a recruiter for the Navy and was interested from the start and enlisted.

He still remembered the days of basic training, the required amount of time needed to spend at basic training before being assigned to a ship was six weeks. He had completed the six weeks and passed with flying colours, his superiors even commended him to join the Naval Officer Corps which he declined because he just wanted to be a simple sailor and had always tried his best all throughout his life. Standing in line as he waited to approach the stairs leading to the deck of The Vengence. He turned to the sound of what were to be bagpipes as he saw a lone man standing and clothed in the typical green kelt and other clothing of a simple bagpipe player. He wondered what a bagpipe player was doing here in this Naval Port Yard. He then saw a preist standing beside him holding a bible as some sailors were getting there blesses and being prayed for by the preist.

He turned away for a moment as the line was moving up and then heard the bagpipe player begin to play a tune as he played the preist stood still with the bible across his chest as a sailor behind him noticed Andrew's curiosity. "That bagpipe player is playing a funeral song" he said as Andrew turned his head towards the sailor behind him.

"Why would he do that, were not all gonna go off somewhere and all die" he commented as the sailor shook his head and looked over at the bagpipe player for a moment before turning back to Andrew and rubbing his chin.

"You know where we're headed sailor?. Gholgoth."

"Hell on earth" a second sailor replied right after the other one as Andrew grew slightly more scared as he simply stared at the preist and the bagpipe player as he played his tune. Andrew then turned and stepped on the stairs and took a deep breath and walked up the stairs as others followed and he opened the steel door leading to the lower floors as it begun quiet and Andrew was now on his own and wondered one thing and one thing only. Am I Gonna Make It Home?

Office of the President of the Free Repubic of Lamoni

To: President J. Kennedy, Aerosalia, and all interested nations

Noticing the acrimonious words flying back and forth between Aerosalia and Gholgoth in my daily pile of diplomatic messages of concern, the government of the Free Republic of Lamoni must add our voice to this undesired chorus as well.

While we do not condone the actions perpetrated by Automagfreek and certain other nations in Gholgoth, we also note our own alliance with Yohannes, which nation is also inside the boundaries of Gholgoth. Not all nations in Gholgoth are what could be considered evil, and Aersalia's embargo of the entire region of Gholgoth is nothing short of a declaration of war against the entire Gothic region. As we do not see Aerosalia surviving such a fight without major nations of their own to back them, we are giving Aerosalia one chance to back off from their position, and fall back to their own borders.

As a fellow democratic nation, we do not wish to see Aerosalian blood spilled in the vast quantities with which Gholgoth in entirely capable of. However, we will honor all alliances that the Free Republic has made with nations in Gholgoth, with military force if called upon. I have already alerted the Lamonian Armed Forces, and they are preparing to assist wherever they may be needed.

President Kennedy of Aerosalia, please take this chance to back down before you start a war from which you may never recover. Gholgoth and their allies are some of the largest and most established military powers on the planet, and it is not wise to challenge them without serious backing. We hope that you will see the error of biting off more than you could ever expect to be able to chew.

Signed,

Andrew Stinson

As a neutral nation as well as an Observer nation to this conflict,we would like to advice the nation of the United States of Aerosalia to stand down and withdraw it's threat of embargo towards the region of Golgoth and her nations. We would like to inform to you also that, you may endanger yourself being annexed by nations who might have allies on Golgoth and as well as as some nations of Golgoth are suppliers and financiers to countless nations,we urge that you end this madness before it's too late.

We shall assume the role as an observer nation, thus we shall only monitor your "war".Furthermore,we shall dispatch 2 cruisers and one frigate from our base in East Klent in enabling us to monitor the current situation. Attacking our ships in the Golgoth region(maritime or not) or even our observatory fleet, may spark a war between us and we aren't hesitant to declare war. Therefore,we remain as an observer and neutral nation and shall attack if provoke.

Gholgoth. Everyone in the Maltropian Royal Navy knew the name - a region of superpowers, some benevolent, some oppressive. Names like Yohannes stood out as the former, an important trade partner of the Royal Kingdom; Automagfreek, the most notable of the latter, was renowned as the earthly manifestation of evil. Of all the world's many regions, Gholgoth was one rightly avoided by vessels of the MRN. Even an innocent and accidental intrusion could be met with destruction, and no captain would risk his ship and crew by going near without permission.

Now the commanders of the Royal Navy were being told they were to head in that direction - with war as a very possible consequence. It seemed foolish, a useless waste of life and of the kingdom's vital fleets. Admiral Seán Daley of the 2nd Fleet was the first to voice this opinion, and he did so flatly.

"We won't do it."

The Minister of War, Proinsias Ó Manacháin, had expected this. No one of the officers assembled in this meeting would have been dumb enough to accept this fate without an argument, but it had to be done. "Damn it Seán, I know you won't do it. That's the thing. You have to do it. We've staked our honour on this thing."

"Honour's nothing compared to human life, Frank. We've practically just concluded a bloody civil war and an invasion from Bigfootia; the last thing we need is to invite the Freekish hordes to our shores."

"Don't call me Frank. You forget that it's not just Maltropian lives at stake; the Aerosalians will be mercilessly slaughtered if we don't move. Any number of nations want to see Automagfreek taken down a notch, and, while we won't be the ones to do it, we can give 'em a bloody good fight they won't soon forget."

Daley laughed. "How will they forget, when they'll have a statue commemorating 'The Conquest of Maltropia'?"

"If you're so confident that anything we send out will sink, Seán, you and your motley band can stay home and patrol around Ishgar. I'm not saying we're sending out the whole fleet - we can send four hundred and call us represented. The point is that we don't sit idly by while this goes on. We've a reputation; more importantly, we've a pledge to keep to. We cannot ignore this chance to prove the valour of our people."

Admiral Daniel FitzGerald, recently promoted, spoke for the first time, "I will gladly lead my ships to the salvation of Aerosalia. But I agree with Seán- we can't just hurl everything at Gholgoth and hope we do more damage than we take. We don't have the ability to do much more than irritate them. We're outnumbered a hundred to one."

Ó Manacháin smiled wryly. "We're not attacking. We're practically humanitarian workers here. No one is dumb enough to declare war on Gholgoth."

Liam O' Shaughnessy, of the 3rd Fleet, muttered under his breath, "Aerosalia is."

It was the most significant international mobilisation of the Royal Navy since the Lyro-Tezdriani War. Over six hundred warships - 5 whole fleets - had been prepared and set sail towards Gholgoth. Their crews prayed vigorously that they'd miss by a thousand miles, as did many of the captains. War with Gholgoth, if it came to fruition, would almost certainly be their doom.

The sea before the Gholgothan coast was clear, as clear as a sea could be with a fleet of over 200 ships, including the large transport vessels.
On board of the Air Carrier "Erik Eirikson" the bridge was crowded with officers as the Admiral begin his speech.
" Gentlemen, as you all know by now we are here to secure the area. Until Gholgoth contact us or something came in shoot range without authorization we will do nothing. We will not land in Gholgoth and we will only fight to protect our interests here. No crusade against a fleet. The only exception up to now is the People's Union of Asacia because we are on a state of war with them.
We have a international reputation to keep so no solo attempt who could cause a new war. Now to the routine. 2 AWACs squads and 2 Helicopter per group are in the air everytime, I don't want a surprise somewhere near then 200 miles is this clear ? Good, also the Carrier Wings are on alarm until this theatre is over. At least 20 fighters must be up in the air half an hour after the alarm. The Capital Ships will remain in the center of the formations, the Waardens will be the first ring around them, then the Phlegtons. The vampire submarines may room without formation but make sure that nothing can come in attack range. That will be all by now, take your time for preparations, I can't guarantee that we will have this time tomorrow."

International Medical Foundation Devastation Risk Analysis - Gholgoth Embargo Conflict

The International Medical Foundation, one of the worlds oldest international humanitarian aid organizations, has tabbed this incident to be watched.

Devastation Risk
RED
ORANGE <<<<
YELLOW
BLUE

We have pegged the risk of this potential war at level ORANGE, the second from highest level. This could be raised to level RED should more powerful nations join the embargo. Recognizing the potential for outright destruction of the nations threatening embargo, the loss of tens if not hundreds of millions of civilian and soldier is very real. With that understating, we are preparing to enter into the nations in need of humanitarian aid should this war become a reality.

We urge all nations on both sides to undertake a more sane alternative that will not leave the masses enslaved, dead, mutilated, or homeless and hungry. Such a critical situation can easily be avoided should both sides agree to not impede on the other.

In the event cooler heads do not prevail, we will be prepared to enter into the nations whom the civilians need humanitarian aid.

Thank you for your consideration,

Tommy Hillenson
Chairman

RE: Official Embargo by Aerosalia

From the: Republic of Robotnik.
To: Leadership and the government of the United States of Aerosalia.

Upon reading your embargo declaration off of a telegram, I instantly began researching this 'Gholgoth' region. I have to say, Mr. President, I was disgusted: How could these people possibly be proud for the number of condemned nations they have? But I did not stop there, their military record was horrific. I could've never sat idly by while you righteous nations fought against such national giants.

So, at this moment, I would like to declare our own embargo with all nations at Gholgoth ( whether we receive trade, vice-versa, or not ) and will assist you and all other anti-Gholgoth nation until this matter is resolved.

Hartman cringed as he made his way into the Great Hall, unsure of what state he would find Lord Azrael in this time. As he threw open the giant oak doors and made his way down the dimly lit corridors, he noticed the staff was visibly on edge as the Supreme Warlord's mental constitution continued to dwindle. As he entered the darkened main chamber, he saw Azrael sitting on the black obsidian throne, mindlessly staring at the wall without blinking.

My Lord, I bring news. It would appear that a small coalition is attempting to enforce an embargo against Gholgoth. We have received reports from our intelligence services that some are even sending fleets our way. What is your lordship's response?

Azrael sat motionless, causing an uneasy feeling to wash over Hartman. It was beyond obvious now that the Supreme Warlord was completely detached from reality, and as Hartman turned to leave the room he heard a booming command echo throughout the hall. Halt! Azrael exclaimed, his body becoming animated once more. Bring forth your documents, Minister.

Hartman approached cautiously, handing over the small folder of papers while bowing his head respectfully. Azrael snatched them away forcibly, pouring over the documents with unusual speed. As he read he began to chuckle slowly and with an ominous tone, his amusement growing with each passing moment. Wonderful. He then tossed the stack of papers on the floor and slumped back down on his throne, his demeanor shifting back into the same cold, emotionless state that Hartman found him in.

I will issue them a statement, and you are to ready our forces at once. I will not suffer such insolence, nor will I bandy words with insects. If an unfavorable response is returned.... wipe them out.

The New Gothic Empire of Automagfreek

From the Desk of Lord Azrael Dreadfire

It is most amusing to me to hear the mewling of lesser men... of fools who dare to befoul our ears with empty threats and misguided ambitions. Tread carefully, heretics, for the wrath of the Freekish Empire it not a thing to scoff at or take lightly. However, I am in a generous mood on this day, and will bestow upon you a chance to repent for your blasphemies. Join the Empire as a vassal state, and swear fealty to me... or watch as your fleets are sent to the bottom of the sea and the corpses of your men strung up on display.

My mercy is finite, and this offer will only be extended once. You must choose now between life or death, and to show how firm my resolve is, I have ordered the immediate mobilization of six Cohorts, in total some sixty million strong. I will also reveal to you that the Empire is in fact operating not two, but five 'Dreadfire class' super dreadnoughts, and we will most certainly be deploying these warships to deal with whatever blockade any nation attempts to enforce on top of this absurd embargo. Once your offensive forces have been smashed, we will take the fight to your doorstep, and leave a trail of gore and suffering in our wake.

To you, Mister Kennedy, I say this in response: I have no sympathy, or empathy. And if you are shocked by the horrific atrocities the Empire has committed, just wait until you bear witness to the entire host of misery and decimation I will rain down upon you should you defy me. Accept my generous offer, or be ground into dust by the might of the Sentinels. Your self righteousness will not save you, nor any other heathen who threatens almighty Gholgoth.

Ocean Liner Vokurtam
Port Vekenotgi
Northern Varathron
12:30pm Gothic Central Time

"I don't want to do this," a scrawny, white women cried, "because we'll die, for fucks sake!"

A chilling gust blew over the seemingly forsaken ports of Vekenotgi that night, and only the sound of obnoxious grumbles of prisoners and noisy trucks could be heard over the loud orders and barks emanating from the port's loudspeakers. Extensive lines of men, women, and children stood at the sides of massive ocean liners that were docked at the port, and as they stood there the watchful eyes of Cerlonian Black Guard members peered over their shoulders, keeping them on their toes. The place was packed with prisoners, but for every prisoner it seemed as if there was three guards within the premises: these weren't your typical criminals, they were ominous members of the Cerlonian Mafia that were completely unknown to the public. They were the most dangerous criminals in the nation.

An officer manning the isolated port's loudspeaker treated his job as if it were a joke. "Attention, scum: the famous Vokurtam Ocean Liner will be boarding for its spectacular, one way trip to the depths of the Gholgothic Ocean momentarily!" Tickets for the trip, which was said to stop on the west coast of Cerlon after venturing through Gothic waters, had supposedly been sold out since the mere hours after they went up for sale, but none of the people who would have the chance to board the liner had actually purchased tickets. Oh, but it was a show! The passengers had been provided with fashionable clothing, fake identification, and promises of an all-you-can-eat-buffet.

Most, but not all, of the four thousand criminals who were being brought onto the ship were not quite sure what they were being forced to do, Cerlon's prison system was known for brutal punishments, and providing some of the worst men and women in the system with a free trip on an ocean liner seemed incredibly out of character. Then again, the officer operating the loudspeaker might as well have given it away entirely. The children were merely the kind of kids who downloaded internet pornography and had the doors to their homes kicked in: they didn't deserve what they were being sentenced to on this fateful night, but their losses were deemed as collateral damage. The Cerlonians wanted this to seem completely realistic: it would need to be for their ploy to work.

But what was this ploy, and what were Cerlon's reasons for executing it?

It would have been blatantly obvious to anyone observing the port that night. The Cerlonians were going to fill a regular ocean liner with unknown criminals, make them look like typical civilians, send it into Gothic waters, and have them get slaughtered by the parties whom had declared hostilities against the nations of Gholgoth. The Varathronian Empire's motivation was even simpler: Cerlon's prisons were bloated with dangerous criminals waiting for punishment at Death Row, and an anonymous party from the infamous Empire of Milograd had promised the reigning emperor a ludicrous amount of money for him to order the operation. They had put fake tickets up for sale on the internet to make it seem as if regular civilians were the ones who were going to board this, but faked them out by announcing that tickets had been sold out almost immediately after they went up for sale.

The Cerlonian Military had learned that there was reason to believe that Asacian vessels would be attacking civilian ships in Gothic waters. If that was their plan, the Central Command had no problem letting them do just that: purging a few criminals and generating propaganda that would slander the enemies of Cerlon's allies was all the motivation that they needed. Of course, the large payments from Gholgoth Proper for executing the operation helped too.

Hours later, the Vokurtam had been filled to maximum capacity with passengers, and it charged off towards the cold waters of Gholgoth that stood directly north of Port Vekenotgi. In the bowels of the ship, enough explosives to capsize the vessel entirely were armed and prepared to detonate in the event that the Asaci didn't attack as planned. The captain of the Vokurtam, Giorgam, knew that one thing was certain: the ship's final destination would be deep, deep below the waves of the Greater Gothic Ocean.

The Dark King, Jonathan Vega, smiled devilishly at the announcement from the feeble nation. He had a scribe write a letter in reply to the declaration...

To: Whoever it May Concern
From: The Dark King

"It is amusing, to say the least, that yet another pitiful pest has decided to try and 'embargo' our great ancient corner of the abyss. Your embargo will have no more power than an ant has against my boot. Your navies will never come near Gholgoth waters, and any other force you could muster would be met with darkness. If you had believed for one moment of your poor, miserable life that an embargo would accomplish anything, then you are sadly mistaken. However, if you feel that you have the courage to go through with this idea.. It would be the last thing you ever do before eating the ashes of your cities... Of your lands... Of your people.

For the Glory of Gholgoth!"

It has come to my attention that a Coalition has been formed, specifically to Embargo the Region of Gholgoth. In doing so foolish ones you hurt yourselves more than anyone. You cannot win if you commit suicide before the battle even starts.

Somewhere in international waters

The crew of the AMS Skua, a fifteen-year-old Type 07 aviso of the Akimonadi Naval Reserve Force, were quite bored. Their ship, which was quite outdated, obsolete, and technically out-of-service, was assigned to a turnaround cruise to make sure that everything was still functioning. They had no battles to fight, crises to manage, or anything like that. And so, as they cruised along, they watched the news, as well as traffic from the naval command.

A routine message came in from the Navy's Central Command:
Code: Select all
TO: ALL VESSELS
FROM: CENTNAVCOM

CONFLICT ERUPTING IN GHOLGOTH. SMALL NATION HAS DECLARED EMBARGO ON THE ENTIRE REGION. AVOID THE AREA AND DO NOT INTERFERE.

"That's it!" the captain of the Skua exclaimed. "We'll go to Gholgoth!"

The XO protested. "It says quite clearly, 'DO NOT INTERFERE'. They'll find out and court-martial us for sure."

"Nonsense. They shall award us many medals!" The captain grabbed the intercom mic and spoke. "Set course for Gholgoth, flank speed!"

There was a terrible crunching noise from the aft of the ship. "What the hell was that?" the captain demanded over the intercom.

"The engine seized. We haven't had a chance to clean all the rust off it yet," came the reply from engineering.

"Bloody hell!" the captain said. "Someone get me some tea!"

Somewhere in the high seas

USN Aerosalia is the one and only of the Aerosalian Navy's Ford-class nuclear-powered aircraft carriers. She carries ninety aircraft of assorted doctrinal utilisation. High above the command room, Captain Max Barry, a bald-headed, pale-skinned and smart-looking commander of the carrier was looking down; his eyes focusing at his men who were cleaning the landing area of the vessel.

"Damn right, they better do their job properly. Lazy bastards of today; iPhone, iPad, personal desktop, Minecraft and Skyrim... you name it."

"GET UR ASS MOVIN' BOYS" he initiated the jiggity dance.

What Captain Barry did not know, and by extension his whole crews, was that they're destined for the deep, dark and cold waters of Gholgoth. Behind them were a whole fleet of the Aerosalian United States Navy, having approximately a ratio of eight missile cruisers and eight destroyers, alongside three fleet & logistical ships.

Ocean Liner SS Sea Tern
Gothic/Tyrrhenian Cruise Lines
Eastern Ocean, Gholgoth

Sea Tern was a 140,000 ton trans-regional liner, the newest class of ships operated by the Gothic/Tyrrhenian cruiseline company of the Enrialist Imperium. Two weeks out from her port, she was headed for Nialyth Province in far-off Tyrrhenia. Nuclear powered due to the massive distances involved, her sleek bow sliced through the waves with grace and elegance.

On deck, the passengers were milling about in small groups. A couple jogged together on a section of the deck marked for such activities, while others walked liesurely along or stood at the railings, watching the breathtaking view of the open ocean. Families swam in one of the ship's 4 swimming pools, while at the stern a man was doing skeet shooting.

Just behind the ship's bridge was the captain's office, a meeting was taking place between the captain Leras and his senior officers and department heads. "Gentlemen, Ladies... We have all seen the dispatches from the Imperial Navy and the Ministry of State regarding this so-called embargo or blockade. Now I know many of you considered it a joke at first but apparently they are serious about it."

Maren-Areth, the Chief Purser chuckled. "Serious about challenging all of Gholgoth? Are they fanatics, have a death wish, or both?" Leras shrugged his shoulders. "Regardless of their motivations in this we have little to worry about. After all we are not a freighter, nor are we conducting any trade with them at all so we are irrelevant to a legal embargo."

The officers got up and headed to their duty stations. Captain Leras walked onto the flying bridge. Like a lot of Naacalians he liked to look out across the blue ocean, as their ancestors in legend had once looked out across the Black, the Eternal Night as it was called. Leras had some minor concerns, as he knew that there were those out in the world that were fanatical enough to attack even a civillian cruise ship. Still he had faith in the Imperial Navy to defend them if possible, and avenge them if not.

City of Alythren-Naras
Enrialist Imperium

Lerian XII stood on his suite's balcony on the side of the 900 meter crystalline tower, looking out across the cityscape. He had been keeping track of the ongoing so-called embargo, but so far had neither made a formal response, nor had the Ministry of State do so. The Minister of Entertainment had decided to respond on his own, showing what the Imperium thought of the embargo. "How can you even have an embargo when you have no trade?" he said to himself softly.

When you have someone who acts out of conviction of purpose, not out of logic, Anais. And those my love, are the most dangerous of all... he heard as he smiled. As a precaution he had informed Admiral Nerelet-An'Rel of the Eastern Fleet to be prepared to respond to any hostilities from holier then thou adventurists.

Capitol Bunker
Nietzheim
Imperium Nequam

"Is this information accurate?"

"Accurate and up to date Imperator. All of Gholgoth is buzzing with the news."

Dragomyr sighed and placed his head in his hands before inhaling deeply. The interactive display which made up a greater portion of his desk showed the report the Reiksmarshal had brought to him. Another nation painting all of Gholgoth in the colour of tyranny, and trying in vain to scare the Gothic Lords. Many had tried in the past, even in the short time that the Nequam had called themselves Goths, and all of them wound up fading into nothingness or finding a more violent end being brought upon their threats.

"Have any opening moves been made?"

"Nothing worth noting."

"Reiksmarshal, the entire population of this nation barely registers among the active military of the Imperium, let alone Gholgoth. I would like to see any action of theirs being called 'worth noting'. Regardless, you are dismissed. Make sure to keep me in the loop, and keep an ear open for orders."

A bow, a snapping of the feet and the general vanished through the solid steel doors which gave passage to the Capitol Bunker. As the doors clicked shut and locked Dragomyr into his personal room, the Worthless Emperor changed the display on his table to the city above. He watched as clouds obscured the sunlight, and people hurried from building to building trying to get shelter from the biting cold. They didn't know, and likely never would. So much of the Nequam life was secluded and confined to Gholgoth that Dragomyr doubted his people would notice any kind of embargo or blockade.

How blind did a nation have to be to think they could blockade an entire region on their own, let alone a region as massive as Gholgoth?

Sighing again, Dragomyr leaned back in his seat and closed his eyes and waited for more news. It would be a shame to see another nation vanish from civilisation so early in their existence. But such was life.
