Licentian Terrorist Group Claim Responsibility For Metrobahn Attack

A Licentian terrorist group, fighting for freedom for the Celtic people in the Licentian Islands, has claimed responsibility for a terrorist attack in Cyborg Holland that has killed twenty nine and left dozens more injured.

Amzterdam Northwest Metrobahn in the Dutch capital was attacked by a group of unknown terrorists five days ago, and the Abingdon-based group Celts United has sent a message to the major news channels in each Esportivan country. This is the message that was sent:

Friends, you’re going to be hearing a lot from me in the next few months. It doesn’t matter who I am. All that matters is what I represent. I represent terror. I represent the sum of all your fears. My friends, I represent the Celts.

These bastards in the Licentian government, they ignore us. They let us wither in poverty back home, and we’ve tried to make them listen. We’ve destroyed a lot back home, on the Islands. We’ve attacked their precious sporting events, and they still won’t listen. So now, we’re turning on their friends.

You have three days, starting from the very hour that this announcement is made. If the Licentian government does not grant the Celtic people their freedom by that time, another device will explode, in another nation, and dozens more people will be killed. You better get persuading, my friends.

You have seventy two hours. Good luck, my friends. I’ll speak to you soon.

The Grand Duke, Luke Thomas II, has refused to comment on the event, saying that any terrorist groups based on the Islands will be “terminated with extreme prejudice”, and emphasising that his government does not plan to deal with terrorists. Reactions from other Esportivan nations are unknown as of yet.

The identity of the terrorist group probably behind the recent attacks has been revealed, 'Celts United'. In a chilling release, they claimed to represent freedom and express their desires by blowing things up and murdering people. Current police theory is that, while they were not directly responsible for the acts in our own nation, they did fund and support them, getting local patsies to do the dirty work. Margravine Brigid Ironripper has replied to these threats in her own press release, recorded this morning.

"So you thought you could inspire terror in us? Mission failed. We're better than that. We'll take anything you can throw at us and return it with interest. We will show you no mercy and no quarter, and there is no escape. Were I you, I'd surrender to a nation that shows mercy to those who have wronged it. Not me. Not us.. Not New Sideburn. Because the moment you stop hiding like cowards, we will kill you all. You doubt me? Then show yourselves. Let's see what you've got when you aren't cowering in the shadows."

As a recent spike in terrorist attacks plague the Esportivian continent many politicians from all parties are wondering what to do about it. The Liberal, Socialist, Social Democratic Party, Greens, United Party and for the most part the Conservative Party have all suggested a increase on the national police's budget. But the Nationalist Party and some men from the Conservative Party demand the formation of the Military again. With the Esportivan War still in the minds of many Felixan citizens the country is divided. In the latest polls made by The National, 43% of the nation want the military to be formed again the highest percentage since the "1983 Presidential Crisis" when the President of Felix was almost overthrown by members of the now banned Communist Party.

The National Police Commandant, Cristián Bautista has said this today after a press conference, "Our NP [Nation Police] can handle the threats of the terrorists and keep Felix safe. Although a increase to the police budget would be nice." Let's look at the facts here, Felix is placed in a dangerous world, as any other nation, but Felix has a solid police force and can handle it threats. But let's be honest here, if Felix was attacked, could the NP save us? Would they? It's these questions we need to ask to find out what this country really needs.

Space is closer than you'd think...

Significant steps today have been taken towards manned space flight in Apoxian vessels, as the test flight of the new rocket, the Copernicus 1, was a success, the rocket reach low earth orbit before landing back in the sea, just south of Apox, after doing two complete orbits of Earth. The Head of the Apox Space Institute, Jon Logan, said "The launch was a triumph for Apox, and a triumph for discovery. we hope this is merely the first stage of a long and successful Apoxian space program."

The ASI (Apox Space Institution) is a relatively new organisation, currently based in the South of Apox, with headquarters in Urbanista, and it's main site of launches and rocket preparation, situated in the sparsely populated area just to the north of Urbanista. It currently employs 1,200 people and has a government budget of £1.6 billion chucks per annum, with a private sector funding of £400 million chucks per annum as well. The rocket launch was the first of the Institute's existence, and there are plans to have further launches in the near future, with the first human launch currently scheduled for November 573 A.T.

However, there have been complaints to the Institute's increased activities, with Jean Gibson, a local councillor in Urbanista saying, "It's a waste of good money really. That money should be being spent on the education and healthcare sectors, which are arguably more important." When these concerns were relayed to Jon Logan, he simply, and mysteriously replied with, "Without curiousity and the need to discover, the human race is nothing." It is thought further backing might be obtained from the governments of Old Guard and Cape Bastion, both of whom have strong links with the Apoxian government, without being big enough to have a space program in their own right.

Lacklustria XI Defeats Freohrdatia 4-2 - Movement To Start FA Gains Momentum

Lacklustria. An island home to just over 7 million people, football seems to come naturally to them. Yet it has only recently taken to the global stage, as this unofficial friendly was the first of its kind. Lacklustria lacks much of an infrastructure, and as a result a football association has not yet been formed... but if this match is anything to go by, they've more than got the players necessary to join the Isles of Serenes standards of play. Though admittedly, their history of occupation by hostile explorers has left them with an ... idiosyncratic naming pattern that could take a while to get used to.

Lacklustria kicked off with just the 11 necessary to begin the match, and at that a marked preference for certain positions had left them with an unwieldy 4-2-4. No matter, though, as they began the day with the foot firmly on the gas. From the very off, centre-forward Gav Cheney Chris Mark Coelho dazzled the audience of fourteen thousand as he danced through an unprepared Datian defence. Yet it was the midfield playmakers who shone brightest, Smiddinho and Taff Leandro excelling at the short-pass game. Freohrdatia, while disciplined, couldn't touch them for style.

It was centre-forward Phil who was first on the scoresheet, a Smiddinho pass scything through the Datian defence and playing him through against goalkeeper Paidin Behan. Behan did well to rush out, but Phil's clinical strike left him with no chance. However, Freohrdatia were quick to strike back. Roisin Dunbar's cross was punched out weakly by Barry Oporto, and subsequently smashed in from distance by an opportunistic Aisling Meath. And Darach Domnall put the hosts in front in the 34th minute, using superior muscle and technique to mislead Andi Maria just inside the penalty area and tucking the ball away neatly. The scores stayed that way until half-time.

Yet evidently something that enigmatic temporary manager Plato said in the interval must have hit a mark, as Lacklustria equalised almost immediately. In the 47th minute, Toni Alcatraz dos McBride passed by Rhiannon but drew a foul from Leinster as he cut into the penalty area. A small argument occurred over who should take the penalty before it was finally decided that Alcatraz should have a chance to convert his own won penalty, and he indeed made no mistake, sending Behan the wrong way. They continued to dominate, Gareth da Silva and Coelho both coming very close and wingback Chaz Campos denied only by the crossbar, but in the 60th minute, they made good on their threats. A corner from the erratic yet brilliant Yorkinho was unable to find a free player in a tightly marked area, but it was only cleared as far as Taffy Leandro; the playmaker made no mistake with a simply perfect half-volley.

While Domnall and Meath continued to threaten whenever they got the chance, those chances became fewer and further between as the game went on, finishing with an eventual possession reading of 68:32. And the game was signed and sealed in the 84th minute, Yorkinho, Smiddinho and Phil combining with superb triangle passing to finally play in Alcatraz for his second of the match.

So then, a sound victory, and the various Sideburnese, Brenecian and Echidnan scouts watching the game will be taking careful notes. And maybe, one day, Lacklustria will go with the likes of New Sideburn before it and join the ranks of the World Cup itself. But these are distant thoughts... for now, nothing can happen until Lacklustria's infrastructure recovers from the recent recession, but as long as the people cry out for a football league to call their own, it remains a possibility, at the very least.

National News: It's official, Swedish is a official language.

In a historic vote, Swedish has been declared a national language. That adds to the amount of languages made official by the Federal Republic has made official. French, English, Spanish, German, Italian and now Swedish, are going to be part of official documents, reports, papers, etc. The bill made sure that small business and well, business in whole, not have to write their reports in all the languages and will do it in their local language. The bill to make Swedish a official language was passed in the Senate, 62-38 and the House of Representatives 132-68. Many of the votes against the bill were from Conservative Party and the Nationalist Party, stating that Swedish isn't a "home language" of Felix. But the bill was passed and now all over Felix, Swedish speakers rejoice. Some of the people were waving the Swedish and Felixan flag at major plazas all over Felix.

And so the bill has been passed and Felix goes through a major moment in history, I as a Swedish speaker, is proud that it was passed and I hope this strengthens our cultural heritage.

Return of the Nobility Scandal

And just as Jemima Cafrew had thought she'd escaped everything to do with awards and such, and could leave that one behind, it arises again, and more embarrassing, from within government ranks. Sir Charles Smith-Smythe-Smith, pictured above, has always been known as a knight of the realm of Apox, however, when journalists looked into his records in depth, they found he'd never actually been awarded a knighthood for anything. In fact, the last three generations of Smith-Smythe-Smiths had all had called themselves 'Sirs' without having any substance to that claim. In fact, the last person within their family to have received a knighthood, was Sir Charles Smith-Smythe-Smiths great-grandfather, Vinston Smythe, who was made a knight in 488 A.T. Since then, the family have assumed it is a hereditary title, which is most certainly is not, leading to many generations of un-truths to this title.

What is even more embarrassing for the government, is that Sir Charles is actually the head of the government department of Buffoonery, an outdated governmental department that doesn't really appear to have any point. It is also unelected - a relic of the past, having survived all the governments attempts to make it more modern.

Since the news first broke, Jemima Cafrew has promised an in-depth review into the entire Nobility system, the awarding of Lordships, Knighthoods and OA's (Order of Apox's), with only deserving candidates retaining their titles, while the rest will be publicly announced as fraudsters, meaning they may face criminal charges. The Department of Buffoonery will also be investigated, with a view to abolishing it.

Sir Charles Smithe-Smythe-Smith, the cause of all the troubles, had this to say: "Well, I thought it was all a bit of rather jolly fun, wot? A man of my er, yes, well, indeed, my social standing, should be a Knight, wot? All in the name of good fun, rah!" Our foreign languages team are still analysing that last bit, and plan to get back with what he meant as soon as possible.

World Cup LXV Qualifiers: In Other News, Women Can Play Too, In Football At Least

After a 9-6 vote, the Felixian Football Association will finally allow women to play in the same league as the men, now while the women do have a league of their own, the Women's Felix Champions League, The Committee of Felixian Football (part of the FFA), has voted in favour of allowing women to play in the Men's Felix Champions League next season. Now many teams from the women's league will be thrown into the men's league to form the new Felix Champions League, which will happen next season. Women will also be allowed to play in the national team of Felix next year. Many people had options on this historic decision, as of two days ago a poll has said that 65% of Felix agrees what the FFA did, I am one of those 65%. I believe that everyone should have a chance to represent Felix and have a chance to be featured in the now televised event from around the world that is Felixian football. I have seen a lot of talented women that could play for the national team but had to settle for the underfunded and obscure, Women's national team. The changes have already had repercussions on Felixian national football as five girls are currently in the U-15 team. The announcement also caught the eyes of many people from around the world as even the Taijan FA President had something to say about this. Here is what he said.

"in the current sociopolitical climate, it would be inappropriate to force male and female athletes to compete together." The commissioner did, however, reiterate that women have always been able to play on all professional teams in Taijan, and indeed many have done so. But other Taijanese had better things to say, here is what some of the other famous Taijanese athletes had to say.

"I think this change is long overdue, and I laud the Felix FA for implementing it. Every wall that is broken down brings us closer to true understanding and equality," -Lion of Judah superstar sprinter and noted Rastafarian Shane Trajiera.

"I've been scored on by females before, and it's no shame to me, at least no more than by males. What is shameful is excluding half the population of a place from playing top-tier football because of an arbitrary distinction over which those players have no control." -Cormac Danielson, goalkeeper, St. Christopher United and Taijani national team

Some Taijans I interviewed before also agreed what Felix did and wishes that their football association did the same. But the Taijanese weren't the only people to be happy about Felix's news. Some players from the Northern Sunrise Islands had some things to say.

Pippi Mangalonga: "I think it's just right that the Felix Champions League accepted female players. While I can't play due to being here with the national team, I'm strongly interested with how the landscape of the league may change when I return to play for the Northern Stars."

Namine Nagatomo: "Well, thank Arceus. While I don't play there, it's good to know that another country took the walls of gender down in this huge place we call the Multiverse."

Mateus Carvalho: "It's good to see a new country where everyone is allowed to play. Opens new horizons, know what I mean? Soon you'll see these guys fighting for Esportivan gold!"

Anthony Hawk: "A 900 degrees in favor for human rights, that's something. I watch the league by cable, so I'll be really interested on watching the FCL."

Justin Redwing: "It's interesting. Really interesting, really. Now if only a team from outside of Flock Nation gave me a chance to play at Esportiva, I'd be more into it."

Isn't that nice? With the multiverse approving what Felix has done, I can say that I am proud of my nation and I hope more civil barriers are torn down and this is just the first step for equality for all Felixians. WITCHCRAFT IN SUNRISE
Why Celebis are floating from Sunrice Bay? Witches!

Northern Sunrise Islands, the land of the Pokémon. How many times has that phrase been used over the years? It's a sure strange way that foreigners use to refer to our rare animals and sometimes, colleagues. Ever since the old days, when NSI didn't actually exist, but instead consisted of several separate islands and lands like Union de Sud were still at their original places, Pokémon made a decent living by entretaining, joining human families or fighting. One of NSI's most important cultural treasures are the PokéGyms, where one type is the focus and children from all around the Multiverse eventually will try (or think about trying) the Champion Road of Northern Sunrise Islands, to enshrine their name among the many champions of this land.

It's a good time to talk about this, as the ITV PokéChampionship of NSI will start in two weeks, allowing the Top 360 of the PKMNA-NSI Ranking to participate and try to obtain a shot at our current International Champion, nineteen year-old Malina Hiroshigaoka of Lorelei. Her team, composed of Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Leafon, Glaceon and Umbreon, became the "Sunrise Sensation" of the year, helping Northern Sunrise Islands specially when they needed to change the national animal.

What that has to do with Witchcraft? Well, if you may have been paying attention to our news, you may have notice that there was some strange activity related to how some rare Pokémon have been appearing at the Sunrice Bay. Turns out that a total of four castles, acting as a special community to mages, witches and children. Apparently, the apprentices have been studying a spell named "Gamecus Sharuqius" and a couple of apprentices, wanting to make a name for themselves among their colleagues and summoning many versions of rare Pokémon, like Latias and Latios.

But let's resume to the biggest problem. Are these witches dangerous? Well, they don't have intensions of actually going and harassing the common order, but are very powerful. Not powerful enough to make us five-time World Cup champions tomorrow or anything, but could make some impact. Either way, diplomats and scientists from Mardi have been sent to the Hidden Castle, in order to discuss ways to integrate their group into the Northern Sunrise Islands "realm" and to learn of possible ways to obtain advantages in diverse fields from their power.

A Nation Goes Into Mourning

Tragedy has struck Old Guard, with the death of our leader, King Iskander the Third, who successfully rose to the throne six years ago, and overthrew the line of the Askain family, who had been running a dictatorship for several years. He died at the age of 74.

King Iskander the Third, was born in Old Guard, in Oldem Infirmary in 499 A.T (using the Apoxian calendar), as second in line to the throne of Old Guard, then a colonial province of Apox. He grew up and went to school at the only private school on the island, St. Martyr's Academy. He graduated from St. Martyr's in 517 A.T, and began royal engagements as soon as he graduated.

However as the country gained more and more powers from Apox, including total independence in 524 A.T, there was increased tension between rulers of Apox and of Old Guard. In April 527 A.T, a rebel group, the Old Guard Liberation Force, rose up against King Iskander's grandfather, the elderly King Michael II, and with the help of Apoxian "peacekeeping" forces, begun a very bloody civil war. It was clear that King Michael's forces were going to lose the civil war, and on 19th October 529 A.T, Iskander was ordered by his grandfather to leave Old Guard, to make sure the line continued, with his grandfather resolutely remaining at the throne until the end, Iskander's father, Richard at his side until the end.

Lord Charlton and then Lord Askain were declared the rulers of Old Guard, at Old Guard remained effectively a puppet state, with the Lord Commanders doing whatever they were ordered to do by the Apoxian government, in return for financial backing. However, that came crashing down to an end in 545 A.T, when the Apoxian civil war took place, with all funding ceasing, and Old Guard collapsing. In this time, it is though Iskander had sought refuge in Cape Bastion, somewhere still friendly to him.

However, once the Apox civil war had ended, Iskander began to plot his return to Old Guard, to take back the throne. He relocated to Apox, as it's leader Lord Winklebottom was sympathetic to his views, unless his predecessors, although no help could be provided by Apox as they rebuilt.

It is thought Iskander was transported to the quiet village of Once Lost in Old Guard on 23rd September 563 A.T, after being in Apox for 16 years. He stayed there, lying low and waiting for the right opportunity. Luckily for him, Lord Askain had grown complacent in the North in Oldem, and didn't come looking for Iskander.

His chance arose when the national football team came to train at the football ground in Once Lost, and he met a lifelong friend Ken Rickwright, and his bodyguard, THE SPECTRE, there, and went back with the team to Oldem as a "physio". Once in Oldem, it was relatively easy to set the wheels of revolution in motion against Lord Askain, and three months later, Iskander became King Iskander the Third of Old Guard.

He changed the calendar to the Second Age or 2A "number" for short, and put in many useful and key policies to help the economy grow, whilst also crushing a potential uprising led by Lord Askain, just two years before his death. He died at home, in bed during the night, peacefully we believe.

He didn't have an heir to the throne, and all his family were killed in the revolution in 529 A.T, and therefore the question of his successor must be addressed. With Old Guard such a precarious state due to its rebuilding of economy, his successor must be carefully chosen by the Council of the Elders, who will meet to begin a series of meetings from next Thursday 13th June 2A 6, to the Sunday, the 16th June.

The Council Have Decided

After a couple of days of furious meeting amongst the mysterious Council of Elder to choose a successor to King Iskander the Third, and become the new king (or queen) of Old Guard, they have finally found an "heir" to his throne.

Reuben of Toleton, who now become King Reuben the First, First Monarch of Toleton Lineage, has been chosen to lead Old Guard into a new age of prosperity. He is currently 54, and the good news is that he has heirs to the throne, having three children, the oldest being Prince Amadeus of Toleton, the next being Princess Anne of Toleton and the youngest being Prince Adam of Toleton. It is thought King Reuben the First will begin his duties as King and Leader of Old Guard next Monday when he is required to open the Council of Elders to start the season of debates, which will be broadcast live on Television throughout Old Guard.

Insurgencies from the Ati Kalurayan Liberation Front (Kilusang Pangkalayaan ng Ati Kaluraya) Reported

An Incident of insurgence of the separatist group, the Ati Kalurayan Liberation Front (KPAK; Kilusang Pangkalayaan ng Ati Kaluraya) were reported near Manoglu in Respaña Viejo. Nearly 25 soldiers of the Royal Sangtian Army were killed in recent clashes in the Manoglu woods. This is the first blatant move that the KPAK made since Sangti became a republic. In the past, Sangti was led by a dictator and the KPAK was not able to do nothing because of extra-judicial killings the dictatorship made in Manoglu, Ligama, Nionmu and Docre, the base of operations of the KPAK at that time. Now with the insurgence at Manoglu, authorities are keeping an eye on the other towns which was formerly the stronghold of the KPAK.

Defense minister Khin Batarilan said that the KPAK needs to be annihilated to keep national security safe and sound. They will do whatever they can to stop the KPAK from taking over the government of Sangti. The KPAK has released a statement regarding their goals in their insurgence. They plan to:

1) To rename the country "Lupain ng Ati Kaluraya" or simply "Ati Kaluraya"
2) To rename the capital from Ciudad Sangti to simply Sangti
3) To add Filipino as one of the official languages
4) To instill a financially stable government
5) To end tyranny in Sangti.

Currentlly, Sangti has two official languages: English and Spanish. Adding Filipino as an official language would make affairs easier and communication from one region to another will not be a problem. Despite Spanish being an official language, it is only spoken in six of the eight regions in Sangti. Pranse speaks French and Filipino and Cantones speaks Chinese and Filipino; however Chinese and French are only considered minor languages so the two regions are currently havng difficulties to communicate with other regions.

Immanuell Loreto, leader of the KPAK said, "It is important to have FIlipino as the official language, since it is spoken all over Sangti, which will be renamed Ati Kaluraya once we take over the government."

A Rising Force in Apoxian Politics

One of the hottest prospects in Apoxian politics at the moment, confirmed his relevance by winning the Green Party leadership elections in one swoop, gaining a massive 63% of the vote in the first round of voting. Jack Greybold beat the other two candidates emphatically to become the leader of the Green Party with just over one year until the next Apoxian general election.

The leadership election was triggered when Greybold challenged the leaving leader of the party, Jordan Scott for the leadership of the Greens. Jordan Scott has received criticism for supposedly not standing strongly over Green Party policy in the current Free Party-Green coalition ruling the country. Jack Greybold is the Transport Minister, showing that he has a good understanding of the Apoxian political system.

The leadership election was contested between Jordan Scott, Jack Greybold and Thulia Witten - who announced herself as a candidate a day after Greybold challenged for the leadership. An AV style vote was undertaken amongst the Green Party's 71,347 members, although only one ballot was required as Greybold won a majority straight away. Below are the results:

Jack Greybold: 45,302 votes (63.49%)

Jack Greybold will now try to bolster the Green Party's growing support, as in a latest poll, the Green Party has 22% of the vote. The two other main parties are also very close with the Free Party currently having 25% and the ANP having 28%, showing that any thing can happen at this moment in time.

Margravine Kilgallon Sets Sights on Flag After Narrow Victory

After a fiercely-contested election, in which the Progressive Democrats managed 45% of the vote to a Traditionalist 39% and a waning Libertarian 7%, Rachael Kilgallon is our new Margravine; details are in the seperate paper of today.

Kilgallon has set a strongly global focus on her campaign, with campaign promises largely based on foreign policy. The first of these promises, which is to give New Sideburn an official flag, is to be put to referendum today, with most polls believing it will pass by a fair 67:33 margin. Brigid Ironripper, the outgoing Margravine, put her full support behind the bill for a new flag. She lead the country for a full nine years over three terms of office, and it was her expansionist policy that provides much of the backing philosophy of the Progressive Democrats' current viewpoints.

New Sideburn has previously only used a raven's head icon as its flag; it was the banner the first Margrave brought to war. However, this was never actually 'officially' the flag as such, merely being the symbol of a powerful warlord. While the head will continue to be an important symbol of the nation, the current favoured design is a green cross on a black field. Nobody is entirely certain of what it signifies, but it's attractive, striking and easily recognisable, qualities we've mostly had to look enviously at Brenecia to find.

The referendum, which will pass easily, happens tomorrow. We will report to you then with an exclusive weekend Flag Update.

Deadlock between Sangti government and KPAK in territorial dispute

The authorities of Sangti and the Ati Kalurayan Liberation Front are in a deadlock in terms of territorial claims. The KPAK want to claim the area of Manoglu in Respaña Viejo as their sole land, while the government is only willing to give a piece of unclaimed land north of Sangti. The chief of the KPAK, Immanuell Loreto, insist that the Manoglu area be a part of the Ati Kaluraya independent nation, or set their land far away from Sangti, where they will start a new beginning in their lives.

This unclaimed land is planned to be bordered currently by Chunnan and Free Swiss States according to Loreto. While there is a deadlock in the negotiations, the KPAK has occupied the whole province of Vascue y Manoglu, with the exception of the City of Vascue itself. Many people in Manoglu have been evacuated to avoid being stuck to the danger of conflict between the KPAK and RSA. Sports teams in Manoglu have been relocated to Vascue for the moment the conflict is occuring.

Meanwhile, while the Esportivan community somewhat accepts the "independence" of Ati Kaluraya, as they accepted the team entry into the Campionato Esportiva, the Republic of Sangti still stands firm in its position that it is still a territory of them, until the deadlock is resolved.

Apox Prepares for the Closest Election Yet

And so the four years of Jemima Cafrew's electoral term are now nearly up, meaning that another general election will have to take place. Since the previous election, it's seems that all the major parties except the leading coalition party have improved their chances of being elected, the most staggering of them being Jack Greybold's Green Party, which has more than doubled it's polling points from 14 to 32 since the 571 election.

The other two parties have stagnated somewhat, with John Asheburton's ANP at 34% currently, down 5% from the 571 election, while Jemima Cafrew's Free Party representation has slumped, currently losing 15% of the vote if the election were to take place today, though, as it regularly does in Apoxian politics, we know that everything can change remarkably quickly. We do know that the John Asheburton and Jemima Cafrew are both in precarious positions - losing will almost definitely topple them from their position of power within their parties, and we have a suspicion that neither will be leader of their parties following this election. Lord Winklebottom has announced his plans to retire at the end of the election, so it seems that Jack Greybold is the only truly well supported candidate left.

The election has been set for the 17th May, the now traditional time for elections in Apox to take place, and we welcome the results with open arms.

Momentous Election Victory

And it was a momentous occasion as Apoxian across the country lined up to vote in the 575 general election, with the Green Party nudging ahead in opinion polls just a few days before the election. The ANP had held strong in previous days, while the Free Party's collapsed support made them look as if they would could third in the elections.

As the early results filtered in, mainly from the Free Party strongholds in the North of Apox, things were looking poor for the Free Party, gaining only three seats in County Eisc, a place where they used to rely on for a strong majority of seats. However, with the announcement of the Southern counties and Dwile seats, the ANP looked like they might creep back into the running somewhat. It was not to be, with the Green Party holding a slim plurality over the ANP, and placing the Green's as potential coalition leaders, although, interesting, each of the three main parties could become major players in a coalition.

Jack Greybold will now have to try a strike a deal with one of the other parties. Judging by his disdain for the Free Party, effectively destroying the coalition 8 months before the end of the term, it would appear likely that he strikes up a deal with the ANP under John Asheburton. However, he has hinted in the past that he might be inclined to reopen negotiations with the Free Party about joining a coalition, providing Jemima Cafrew was not in place as head of the party, preferring someone else, such as the moderate reformer - Annabel Harwood as a potential coalition partner.

However, in any case, he may get his wish sooner rather than later, as Jemima Cafrew looks in her weakest position ever in her 6 year spell as Leader of the Free Party, with many members of said party grumbling about the poor election performance. Past leader of the Free Party, and indeed Apox, the 69 year old Lord Winklebottom had this to say regarding the Free Party's electoral performance:

"It was a pretty bad result, that much is true. I think the party needs to re-evaluate how it goes about modern day politics in Apox, and learn from its mistakes. It needs to restructure for the next election, though whether that should be under Jemima Cafrew I'm not sure." Some pretty damning words there from a very influential figure in Apoxian politics, despite him now retiring from politics. However, let us not dwell too long on the failures of the Free Party and instead celebrate the phenomenal showing and rise to power of the Green Party under Jack Greybold.

Greybolds Greens Lead New Coalition

Jack Greybold has entered into another coalition government, although this time things will be much changed to what it was only a couple of weeks ago. There had been a lot of speculation over where Apox would be headed, with all three major parties being able to enter into a coalition.

However, it was always obvious that the Green's were going to be involved in the next coalition, as they could work with either side and had the largest share of the seat in Government House. It was thought that Jack Greybold would lead his party away from the Free Party and towards John Asheburton's ANP, but it was not to be, as a result of momentous change in the Free Party.

Jemima Cafrew, perhaps unfairly, had been seen as the cause of the Free Party's decline, and so it was inevitable that she would be challenged for the leadership. In the end, it was Annabel Harwood who challenged her, the junior minister riding a wave of popularity after being endorsed by Green Party leader and most popular politician in Apox since Lord Winklebottom, Jack Greybold. In the end, Harwood won a landslide victory, obtaining 60% of the party vote to become leader of the Free Party.

From then on, it seemed more likely that a Green-Free coalition would occur, and yesterday, the 22nd May 575 A.T, it was confirmed to be the case, with Jack Greybold taking up his position as the Leader of Apox, the first leader of his party. He has promised reforms to the struggling Apoxian education system, and seeks to overhaul the bureaucratic and inefficient benefits to insure that people who are eligible for benefits get the right amount, with saving being made through cutting bureaucracy. He also seeks to stimulate the economy and make Apox truly an Esportivan powerhouse.

Government House will first sit on the 29th May 575 A.T to open the new Parliament.

Hooligans ("Ultra Blanca, Barra Brava" "White Ultras, Ultra Brave") and Alianza fans (Hooligans) defended theirself by the agression, By this reason, National Police of SJG (Policía Nacional de SJG) disolved the riot and they arrest 102 Hooligans of Guayabal Gas.

Congress Approves Creation of the Hardeland Territory

MILWAUKEESBURG- The National Congress has approved a bill to claim the unoccupied land south and east of the Niederbach after natural gas was discovered there.

The Hardeland Formation Act was passed 32 votes to 17 by the largely DHP Congress. Kurt Nachreich, Congressional Majority Leader(DHP) spearheaded the process, bringing what some are calling the "Gas Man", Martin Hildemeyer into talks with the President over the claim. Hildemeyer is the CEO of the Energie Conglomerate Ltd. and one of the most wealthy men in the country.

The territorial claim.

Nachriech said in a joint speech with President Johann Kruger that the claim would open up over 20,000 jobs in an already prospering economy. The jobs range from working in the capital of Rothau-am-Niederbach to working for one of the main gas companies at drilling sites to registering for a mining license to do the drilling yourself. The territory, named after founding father Domonik Harde, will not have any state rights, instead complying directly to national law, as well as several provisions made by the Congress. The Congress will almost act as the territorial legislature, passing provisions to be implemented in the territory. There will be elected advisers to travel to the capital and represent the territory, although they will not have any voting power.

It appears that Nachreich, who is running in the 2018 elections, will use this as one of his main points for why he should be elected president. He will be running against the staunchly Bamberger-esque Johann Kruger, who has a lot of support from the conservative majority in the country. The real question is if Hummel can appeal his message to the largest amount of people and perhaps change the minds of this largely Traditionalist Party country where political apathy runs wild. Hummel will also make the point that most of the laws passed by Congress that he spearheaded did not change life for the majority of German Americans, but granted freedoms to the select few without compromising the majority of citizens.

This claim also creates two new borders. To the east now lies Apox, and to the northeast is Commune PDTv2. The main concern is not with the relatively peaceful Apoxians, but with the Communadi, who have oppressed their people for a very long time. The Kreigsmachen announced they will gradually increase military presence in the Hardeland, as well as along the borders, to protect the gas fields. It will be interesting to see how the Esportivan community will react to the claim.

Chances are you're pretty scared and confused right now. All sorts of questions popping into your head like 'Who does this guy think he is?', 'When will this nightmare end?' and 'Would life in Rushmore really be that bad?'

Relax. This is perfectly natural. (except the Rushmore bit)

It's also not unreasonable to want to resist the change. After all, The Licentian Isles had all the credentials of a good delegate and there was some stiff competition in the elections from other esteemed nations. However, it is probably for the best that you just convince yourself that you would have voted for Paradystopia given the chance. It'll make this difficult transition easier for everyone involved.

You may or may not have noticed that the title 'Regional Delegate' has been replaced with 'Supreme Overlord'. This is nothing to be worried about; A mere trifle of administration. After all, what's in a name?

Take a few deep breaths. Good. Just think of all the benefits of Paradystopia's leadership. Faced with a crippling fear of our new dictator's almighty banhammer, your RP contributions to the forum are bound to improve thus strengthening Esportiva's reputation in the field of international sports. High Speed Rail Fast-Tracked By Government

Travellers around Apox will be heartened by the news that Jack Greybold's Green Party have fast-tracked an ambitious new high speed rail project to run alongside and eventually replace existing rail lines between the largest cities in the region. The first section, and currently the only approved section nicknamed P1, for Project 1, which will run from Dwile Central station to Gwinevra Metropolitan.

The specially designed trains will be able to travel at speeds up to 140mph (for reference, existing trains have a maximum speed of 90mph), slashing the journey time from Dwile to Gwinevra to around 70 minutes to complete the 160 mile journey. It will be built alongside the existing tracks, although carefully redesigned around existing stations along the route, as it will not stop between the capital and the second city. This will be done to minimise complaints and costs.

The project is initially projected to cost §10 billion, which will make it far and away the biggest construction project ever attempted in Apox, with construction planned to begin in September 581 A.T. P1 should hopefully be completed in March 584 A.T, with the first public trains started at that time, hopefully easing the congestion currently on the busiest line in Apox, with 10 million journeys occurring per year.

This is only the first part of the project, and Leader Jack Greybold stated in his address approving funding for this project that he hopes to expand the project to Barbury and Urbanista if P1 is a success. He also mooted creating a wider network in the future, with the possibility of trains into German American States, and underground to The Licentian Isles potentially happening. In his eyes, the possibilities are endless, although we'll try to keep our expectations more grounded for the time being. Regardless, P1 is definitely a step in the right direction, with the rail network desperately in need of an overhaul and the road network being frankly dismal outside of Dwile.

Royal Uitbregen Army to increase Arendslaand Peacekeeping Force to 2,500

Major General Koen Lauwers, the officer in charge of the peace keeping operation in the war-torn ex-colony of Arendslaand, has told the media today that the Military has confirmed an increase in the number of peacekeeping troops from 800 to 2,500 in an attempt to curb the escalting violence in the middle and east of the country.

The current 800 troops are based in the capital city of Wolmaranstraad, running patrols and reconnaissance missions along the makeshift border which runs along the Spitzkorn River. The Peacekeeping forces have been working closely with the Arendslaand Government Forces (AGF) in operations against rebel forces, the Arendslaand Orange Army (AOA), in and around Wolmaranstraad, but the extra troops will be able to expand operations all along the border, as well as into AOA territory.

Along with the 2,500 Peacekeeping troops will be 250 Helicopter Pilots & Technicians as well as other assistant units including three Royal Medic Battalions and over 1,000 Tonnes of Food and Sanitary aid to afflicted areas.

The Arendslaand Civil War has entered it's second year, and there have been little signs of the conflict easing up. The AOA has increased it's shelling campaign from over the Spitzkorn River and large parts of Wolmarastraad have been heavily damaged as a result. A recent shelling on the night of the 1st killed a recorded 73 people after the AOA appeared to deliberately target a civilian area in the west of the city. In response, the AGF Air Force conducted a series of precision strikes against Gas and Manucfacutre Facilities in the Swart Berge (Black Mountains). AGF General Marinus van Velk has ordered recently that the AGF II Corps, whom the Royal Uitbregeni Army units are based with will perform a series of penetrative operations into the numerous gun emplacements over the Spitzkorn.

The 68 year old founder of the Nationalist Party and interparty rival to Lazzaro Passerini faction, Xavier Solos, was found dead today in his apartment in Vigo. The body was found days after he was reported missing as police searchers found the lifeless body. The police there found the body with bullets in it. And further investigation revealed that a shot in the head seemed to deliver the deadly blow, another 5 shots were in the torso area and seemed to be shots to make sure he was dead. Foul play is suspected and the National Police Force of Felix is investigating for motive and who killed the man.

NPF Commandant, José Ibáñez has revealed some motives on the reason why Mr. Solos would be assassinated including a politically motivated one. But Lazzaro Passerini, the current head of the Nationalist Party, has denied all claims and we should focus on the memory of the great man than who killed him and why. The family of Xavier Solos demands justice for him in the form of arrests and executions. And Ibáñez promises to bring that to the family.

37 Kaji tribesmen were arrested today in Indos after they surrendered themselves to NPF forces after they burnt down a Nationalist Party HQ in Indos. The 37 peacefully went to the NPF office in Indos, the capitol of Kaji Territory and were quickly arrested by the police there. The leader of the 37 arsonists said this today, "We burnt down the offices of the Nationalist thugs because they attacked us first with words of hated and racism. We as the Kaji people had enough of these... These people [The Nationalists]."

The Nationalist Party refused to comment on the news of their arrests.

In a landmark decision by the leaders of the UP, LP, SP, SDP, and GP all decided to form an historic political alliance. The name of the coalition is a rather long one, "The Coalition for National Salvation". The coalition plans to halt the "worryingly" growing power that is the Nationalist Party and what remains of the Conservative Party. The leaders all agreed that the NP and CP are two threats to Felixian democracy. The other two parties (that aren't represented mind you), the Communist Party of Felix (CPF) and the Fascist Party of Felix (FPF) were not invited to the coalition. The leaders of the CPF and the FPF refused to comment.

But leader of the Nationalist Party, Lazzaro Passerini has had a lot to say about this new coalition in a statement made today, "I am severely disappointed with the decision made by the political parties of Felix today. In a effort to 'save' democracy they made a coalition of inequality and unfairness. I hope these political big wigs all pay the price for this injustice when they lose their elections. That's when the voice of the people will truly be heard! You heard it here first. I also invite the leaders of the CPF and FPF into forming a coalition, to combat against the coalition presented today."
