I'm working on travel time estimates between major settlements. They'll be lowball ones meaning trips should take about 30% longer most of the time.

Here they are, they are lowball ones like I mentioned before and are only for the most direct and well traveled paths between the settlements. They are rated from Dangerous to safe and I'll explain those.

Dangerous Rating means that there is a better than even chance you will meet some kind of resistance in the form of wildlife, raiders, or natives. Pirates replace raiders in the case of over water routes.
Unsafe Rating means that you have a good likelihood of an encounter along the way.
Safe Rating means traveler's along the route are unlikely to be attacked but it doesn't mean that you are 100% secure because in the new world nobody is safe from harm.

All these times are estimates, it usually takes about 30% longer than this to go from one place to another. These were calculated using Google Maps' walking time estimator and are for foot traveling for 8 hours a day at a rate of 30 miles per. The water travel routes are guesstimates based on the kind of dilapidated water craft that most people would be using and the distance between cities.

When I was calculating time with the Natchez, I used about the same speed as a nuclear submarine, since it runs on a nuclear reactor, so about 30 mph. btw, where's the River Route with Providence to Hellenia? You could go up the Mississippi, then go left into the Red River at the Three Rivers Wildlife Management Center, and then just go up the Red River.

To get from Providence to Vendetta you'd have to take the Mississippi to the rivers wildlife preserve navigate the canal that connects it to the red and then sail up it a ways to a creek who's name I forgot that connects to real world Morgan City to get to Vendetta. Its mostly the smugglers and pirates route but would also be used by people without vessels capable of going into the gulf.

30 isn't the top speed for Nuclear submarines; it's the average. Besides, there needs to be an advantage to using steamboats, you can literally run 6 miles per hour.

He's armed with a caravan shotgun he found on a guy maimed by a gutter. Scout Mark has the same armor, but he's equipped with a shiskebab, since he prefers melee combat. All in all though, I say that they could be incapacitated pretty easily with the element of surprise. By the way, make sure you've read the two Scout Daniel sections, you could probably incorporate the morse code message they translated into your post for instance. Just a suggestion.

Nah, they're supposed to stay at base camp (the area with two tents and a campfire) and await further orders, so I'll let you come to them. Is it alright if I have Daniel kill one or two of them before being captured? I imagine that Mark will be sleeping in his tent, because they take shifts watching over the camp.

What I was trying to say is that even if the vessel is capable of traveling those speeds its not possible on a river for the reasons I listed. Regardless your boat crashed which probably would have happened at 30knots anyway .

What I was also trying to say is that the majority of the vessels on the river will probably be being powered by wind or rowed by oars and they will be homemade or ancient affairs and even large riverboats will not be traveling more than 5 to 13 knots (6 - 15mph) on the river to be able to avoid the myriad of hazards if they are crewed by professionals. I am not educated in river navigation but there are currents, tides, eddies, sandbars that constantly shift positions, islands, rocks, mutant animals, raiders, pirates, storms, debris, radiation, and all the other things that a river and the Fallout universe can throw at you, so I guesstimated 5 days.

Backstory: Born out in the marshes of Louisiana, D'Spayr and his brother Bluhd were always far from other people. From a young age they learned to fight, especially when their parents died. Left to their own devices, D'Spayr would work on a vehicle he found by the family's house when he wasn't hunting with Bluhd. After years of working on it, taking it apart, and putting it back together again D'Spayr could work on it without being able to see. Using this buggy that was suited for the inhospitable environment that was Louisiana, D'Spayr and Bluhd hunted to their hearts whims. They even have a reputation in the area, known as the Blood Brothers.

RP examples: Sauron was hopeful. The Arabian and Hebrew armies had clashed and he was yet to hear a response. In the distance he could faintly hear shouting. A man burst into his chambers, clearly exhausted. He had been chased by the guards and they too busted into the chambers. "You two, get him some water!" shouted Sauron, anger in his voice. "Yes, my Sultan" they replied before rushing off. They were back momentarily with the water. They presented the water to the man and he drank it greedily. "Now, tell me the fate of the battle" Sauron demanded. "My Grand Sultan, we...we have WON!" the messenger shouted, with glee in his voice. "This means everything to the people!" shouted Sauron, who also had glee in his voice. "Prepare the Elephants, the Dancers, the Jugglers! We shall have the greatest of celebrations!" Sauron shouted, with a joyful voice.

The Dancers were the best of Arabia, with bodies women would fight for, and men would kill to play with. The Jugglers were also the best of Arabia, fearlessly juggling scimitars with a look of fire in their eyes. The Elephants were always a favorite of the people, as long as they stayed away from its feet. The Sultan himself was in the parade, on the lead Elephant. He was waving with joyful eyes and throwing out silver and gold to the people. The loved their leader, for he was fair, wise, young, generous, and handsome. All these qualities, in a young man who hadn't even gotten his first hairs yet. Yet they loved him like he was family, even though they did not know him personally.

After the celebration there were a great number of feasts all over the country, with food soaked in blood to commemorate the victory over the Hebrews. You were not forced to eat it, as Arabia had many cultures all in one. There were other foods, such as fish. The capital held the grandest of the feasts, with the people overeating. After the feast, Sauron began a speech. "My beloved people, we have won a great victory today. We have secured our safety and your safety. While we are are not going to take advantage and take, we will sue for peace. Mohammad would not want needless deaths, would he? Let this be great time for both of our peoples!" and with that, he sat back into his gold and ivory inlaid chair. He would have to write a letter to the Hebrews later, but for now he was at peace.
