THE DIVISION OF BRAZIL: Brazilian history remains largely the same as OTL until 1847. IRL, in 1847, Pedro II's eldest son, Afonso, died of epilepsy; ATL, however, he lives. Similarly, in 1850, Afonso's younger brother Pedro lives through the fever which killed him OTL. The other major difference is that the Empire of Brazil, before the split, has a slightly different legislature; the Congress of Brazil is divided into the National Assembly(a collection of nobles, headed by a Prime Minister) and a General Assembly(composed of elected representatives, headed by a Speaker).
On Deceber 5, 1891, as with OTL, Emperor Pedro II of Brazil dies. However, because Afonso and Pedro are both alive, the crown is not dissolved(OTL, the Empire was abolished because Pedro II's heir, his daughter Isabel, was a woman; ATL, however, she is behind both Prince Afonso and Prince Pedro). Trouble still arises, though. Afonso, as eldest son and thus heir to the throne, declares himself Emperor Afonso. Pedro, however, claims to have evidence that Pedro II disinherited Afonso, and crowns himself as Pedro III. Afonso retains control of the eastern coastline, ruling from his capital of Rio de Janeiro. Pedro III takes control of the vast interior; though he initially has his capital in Manaus, he orders the construction of a new capital, Brasilia, and moves there after its completion in 1902. The National Assembly supports Pedro III, and joins him; the General Assembly supports Afonso, and joins him.
The civil war that ensues, initially only between the crown disputes, soon turns into something more political. Afonso(leader of "East Brazil") is a reformer; he increases the power of his legislature, reducing the Emperor to little more than head of the executive branch. He also grants autonomy to the Spanish-speaking region of Uruguay. Pedro III(leader of "West Brazil"), however, is authoritarian; he seizes absolute power, turning his legislature into a rubberstamp legislature, and creates a brutal dictatorship.

I find it unfair how quickly u guys were to give me the boot, and with a general lack of character persay also. But, I wont argue with authority because I absolutely respect your call shrilll. I must say though, before I depart, this was the last straw in a whole multitude of me getting shit on this RP. I do nothing wrong and still get the boot. What a way to go out. Looks like ill be taking my talents to South Beach, as they say. I wish u all good luck with the RP and future endeavors, just realize I am ever so biased to be convinced I was always wanted out of this RP from the start, as Uni had such great profiles to replace my nations in a moment's notice. Well, alls well that ends well.
