Emmanuel Carasso publishes a small manifesto called Roma Orientalis. In this manifesto, he lists a plethora of things -- firstly, he states that the Venetian state never fully paid it's dues for the 1204 Sack of Constantinople, and that even in Venezia today, proper Byzantine artifacts lay in the city. He thinks Italy, "in good faith toward it's Roman brother", should return any and all spoils of the 1204 sack back to Constantinople and the possession of the Empress Iulia II.
Secondly, he sanctions the idea that the Eastern Roman Empire is indeed restored, and believes that a "political union between Rome and Constantinople in a diarchy would perhaps be one of the most powerful unions in Europe, and would truly the Roman Empire." -- He proposes that Prince Mehmet, the 23 year old Crown Prince, should formally marry an Italian princess to further tie the two nations together. He then proposes also "a union between Constantinople and Teheran, cementing the true faith in the Middle East..."
He then also begins to propose "grand works" projects to restore the glory of Rome. The rebuild of the Hippodrome, the Sea Walls, the Hagia Sophia be restored into a grand mosque even grander than it already is, the rebuild of the Alexandria and Baghdad libraries, so on and so forth.
He then launches into his final point, that there is no true Islamic faith but Sunni. From a Jewish point of view, he challenges the authority of the Shiite Caliphate saying that the Osman clan, as Caliph of Islam, is descendant from the Prophet Muhammad, and therefore, better qualified to run the Islamic faith.
He publishes the book to loud acclaim in Rum.

The book generally draws little attention in Russia, the CSA, and their allies. Many Germans are furious that Carasso seems to be agreeing with "the Italian madman" Mussolini, but other than that it draws little attention in the German sphere.
The book does, however, create controversy in al-Mayiquh and Rum. In Al-Mayiquh- which is majority Shia, after several of its early colonial leaders converted themselves and the colonists from Sunnism to the Shiism- and Mauritania- which is Shurist, and already worried that Rum will invade and attempt to enforce Sunnism- the book is burned in the streets and Carasso denounced. Many Jews in Europe and America also become skeptical of Carasso's devotion to Judaism, seeing that he seems to be far more interested in Islam than Judaism, and calls Islam "the true faith" while describing the possibility of union between Istanbul and Tehran. This further damages the credibility of anti-Zionism in these areas, and the ZWC grows larger and more powerful.

Another book churned out of mighty Japan -- this time, instead of being written by a member of the aristocracy, public, or any other -- it was written by Emperor Alexander himself. The book was a massive compilation of his "Circumnavigation of the World" that he undertook in 1838. While a smaller book about it had been published in the 1840s, Alexander had promised to write a "much larger version" in the future -- and after 50 years, he had finally achieved his means.
Aboard the Circumstance was the title of his massive epic. In this massive text, he wrote about every stop on his journey, and every experience he had. From "delving into the strangest of hallucinogenic opiates and drinks in Bengal with Sikh and Muslim men trying to find their own personal enlightenment, and assisting the youth of Dhaka in finding productive means of survival -- instead of robbing men and fighting like animals for scraps, to find their fate, possibly creating new generations of men to fight for freedom..." to his journey to Arabia and "the Grand City of Mecca, where I, for my short time as a faithful Muslim, paid Hajj to the fair Turkish Kayser, Adile, and her empire, of which I have great respect...", to his journey across the ocean to the Confederate States, and his meeting with Jefferson Davis on the shores of the Mississippi River, to his stop in Hormuz and his short spell in Persia.
For the first time in his life, he revealed the very reason he went on that journey. "In my humiliation as a young, foolish monarch, I awoke one evening in a daze. My body was drenched in sweat, and my heart was beating fast as I rose from my bedchamber and stalked down the halls of the Palace. In my study, a light was flickering, by candlelight I entered the room, and I saw the hallucination that burned into my soul, and made me realize that I was living a path of destruction, not enlightenment. In the quiet, dark room, there stood my dear Grandmother. Empress Meiji came to me only once in my life, to tell me that I was leading Japan to destruction... that is why I left on my journey, to comprehend the world as it is, not to dismiss it and fail to understand it. Perhaps the death of my father had such an effect, but what young man would not feel such a way about his father's demise? or his Grandmothers, for that matter? Alas, I do not know."
He even mentions why he avoided China, "The times were not kind to the Sino-Japanese friendship -- war was ever a threat, and it was not until later that we settled our differences... unfortunately by the barrel of a gun... not by the continuity of peace."
The book is released in Japan to massive acclaim, and the book spreads to foreign courts as it reveals the true nature of Alexander's grand world pilgrimage as a young man.

The assassination of Viktor made Calipha Aysun very nervous. She penned a telegram of condolences to the Ukraine and wished their next monarch a lifetime of health. Inspired by the "Nova Roma" political dossier, she ordered the reconstruction of the Grand Libraries of Alexandria and Baghdad, as well as the restoration of the Hagia Sophia.

In this vein, Aysun and several backers who wanted to form the new Olympiad, formally created the International Olympic Committee (IOC), a governing body to ensure the Olympics went over smoothly and without controversy, to determine which sports were included at the Olympics, to organize the opening and closing ceremonies, and to determine whom the host of the Olympics would be.
The IOC would go on to be one of the largest sportsmanship organizations on Earth, all at the insistence of Calipha Aysun.

Unicario wrote:The response in Rum is violent and negative. Massive outbursts of protest spread across Rum and the Islamic community decrying it as "non-Islamic" and "racist". Emmanuel Carasso, incensed by this, publishes a quick retort of the so called quack. In a writing called, "The Science of Slavs and Tatars", he refutes all of Mehmet Suprun's scientific facts, countering them with an analysis of Ukrainian civilization versus Tatar civilization.
He says, "The Tatar race, which we have been so quick to embrace as our brothers in arms, are nothing more than the artificial creation of the barbarian Mongols raping and pillaging Cumans and Khazars that lived in the steppe during the Mongol invasions. They are simple Mongoloid mud-slingers, with no more civilization than the dozens of other artificial societies left behind by Genghis Khan. The Ukrainians by contrast, are a long term civilized society who built Rus' from nothing before branching out becoming Russians and Byelorussians and so on and so forth -- all of the so called science forwarded by the false Professor Mehmet Suprun are lies, and any respectable scientist in the free world could tell you such things..." He further divorces the Tatars from civilization by saying, "The only natural position of Tatars in the Rumite land are to be servants of the Rumite Empire... they are reliant on us for defence -- if we were to withdraw from Crimea tomorrow, they would surely collapse under a renewed Ukrainian offensive."
He formally petitions the Rumite Senate for a ban on Prof. Suprun's book, which is agreed upon, and the ban is imposed.
In Yalta, the Turkish majority city openly burns the books as "un-Islamic". Imam Mustafa of Yalta issues a fatwa against Professor Suprun for "spreading lies and hurting the House of Islam with his false words."
Carasso's book is met with extreme controversy for his extremely terse words in the Tatar communities in Anatolia, as small as they are. No book burnings occur, however.
