Atlantic City, New Jersey
Of the nine zeppelins that went off to Hampton Roads, only six remained. The Confederates were infuriated by the Canadian night attack that was far more destructive in regard to human life than most CSA assaults. The Canadian forces were forced to retreat to the east and made a wide loop over the ocean, finally coming to Atlantic City from the east. The New Jersey Army, consisting of 7 divisions, was now sent northward to to make a defensive live 50 miles outside of New York.
Buffalo, New York
The Canadians retreated eastward into the Finger Lakes region, where the Iroquois once ruled their mighty empire. Indeed, the Canadians still kept some of their largest First Nations' reserves in this region, and there was even an Iroquois riding in Parliament...but now the Canadians were retreating from here to the Miles Line, which was 30 miles east of the Hudson.
Albany, New York
Chains were strung up across the Erie Canal and artillery was placed on the high ground on the east bank of the Hudson. The commander Miles placed in charge was none other than the young Cavalry officer Theodore Roosevelt, who now lead a group called the "Rough Riders" to defend the capital at all costs.
Toronto, Ontario
Now Toronto as nearly cut off, save for a link to New York by the lake. Here, another siege was prepared as the defenders of the Huron-Erie Line had arrived in the city with their supplies. This would mean a siege that could last for months.

Princess-soon-Caliph Aysun, under the new regnant name Iulia II, formally dispatched a collective of Islamic imams from Constantinople to Tangiers to serve as the new religious administrators for Portuguese Muslims. She issued a letter to the King, and a general statement. In the letter to the King, she outlined that Rum would take care of the administration of the Islamic faith in Portugal henceforth, and with his permission, would replace misbehaving imams with ones from Rum.In the name of the Prophet (pbuh), and in the name of the Holiest Faith, Islam;

A cadre of French fascists were caught at the border. They were identified as the leaders of the fascist revolt in France. They were all promptly locked away in a prison camp in Cyrenaica. The leader had already made it to Brazil, but the rest of the cadre incriminated their leader and soon identified themselves as trying to flee to Brazil to set up a fascist state there. This evidence was soon publicized by Rum in the Western Hemisphere.
Tawantinsuyu
Maritza I sent a letter to President Hendricks after news of the events in Brazil spread. She warned the President that, "If Brazil continues to deteriorate and falls to the same ideology that France, our ally, nearly fell to, then the Empire of Tawantinsuyu will have no choice but to put down the regime in Rio de Janeiro, with or without Confederate support. As much as we agree that Europe should be our first and foremost threat, we cannot have unstable dictatorships forming in our neighborhood. The scope of Tawantinsuyu's operations against Brazil in this context however, would be without territorial extractions. We would simply seek to dispose of the regime currently attempting to supplant the Emperor of Brazil -- and restore the rightful state to order."
When the news that the French cadre had been apprehended in Tunis reached the capital, Maritza ordered the closure of the borders to Brazil until further notice.

To: Yahya ould Abdelaziz Laghdaf, Grand Mufti of Mauretania
From: Aysun, Caliph
Blessing of the Prophet (pbuh) be upon you, good sir.
I understand your fears have been heightened by the establishment of Rumite supremacy over the affairs of the imams in the Kingdom of Portugal. Let me assure you now sir, that the purpose there of is not to exterminate Islamic faithful with otherwise non-orthodox ideals. The goal is to ensure that Portugal teaches Islam to it's Islamic subjects without bias, which is the job I have assigned to our imams, but in doing so, I must teach them the Islam that the Prophet (pbuh) declared in his years upon this fine Earth. Shurism, and Mauretania, is not under threat by the Sunni faith, nor shall it ever be. I hope you understand.
Signed,
Aysun
Caliph

Roosevelt's divisions of cavalry and infantry were now placed on the west side of the river, and instead of waiting for a siege, Roosevelt ordered a "ride" around the Confederates coming from the west to eliminate their rear guards.
In the mean time, author and pacifist H. G. Wells had himself written a book called The Time Machine.
This told the story of an unnamed inventor who had created a machine that allowed him to travel in time. He first travelled from his time-the height of the Great War-to the year 1930, when a second and even greater war took place. In this conflict, Canada and the CSA were fighting on the same side, along with Britain, Japan, and Ukraine-Romania against a more powerful Caucasian Free State called the Transcaucasian Federation. This was a nation that had conquered much of the eastern sections of Rum after they unleashed a powerful missile filled with the bacteria anthrax. The allies had themselves created powerful weapons based on the "sun bombs" of old, and launched them at cities such as Yerevan, Baku, and Grozny.
He then travelled further forward to the year 2030. Now a third war was being fought against Germany, who had broken out of something called the "Iron Curtain". The whole world was arrayed against them, and plans were being made for a single global state at the end of the war.
He then travelled all the way to the 800,000s, where a peaceful but simple people lived in perpetual fear of a savage species called Morlocks. They stole his machine and with the help of a few of the future peoples he used a torch to retake his machine from the evil creatures who wanted to destroy it. He finally travelled to somewhere millions of years in the future, and saw that very little was left of the world. Finally, he returned home, only to vanish into time every so often and is still travelling today according to Wells.

On May 1st, 1892, Japan launched the final offensive in the Ryukyus Campaign. Spurred on by the sudden break in Confederate ranks by the cowardly or demoralized, Japan pushed with all of it's force against the Confederacy. These better hopes caused a massive burst in morale across the Ryukyus for Japanese soldiers as they pushed against the CSA, hoping to dislodge them from the island. In Tokyo, the day was a celebration for everyone. Red banners and national flags adorned the streets, in celebration of the offensive, and in celebration of May Day.
However, Michiko Adams refused to rescind Order 1066, Operation: Hachiman. The attack on the Confederacy would begin in eight days time, for better or worse on Okinawa. They would show the world the might of the Japanese Empire.
In an odd sense, despite the bloodshed on Okinawa that day, Japanese commanders of the Meiji Islands proposed to the Confederate officers a temporary ceasefire so that the dead on both sides may be buried with proper rites and traditions.

The Confederate forces had again stabilized, though they had lost significant ground. Again the bloodshed resumed, with the Confederates having resumed their fight-to-the-death strategy. In an odd sense, despite the bloodshed on Okinawa that day, Japanese commanders of the Meiji Islands proposed to the Confederate officers a temporary ceasefire so that the dead on both sides may be buried with proper rites and traditions.
After months of failed fighting, Confederate morale in the Meijis finally collapsed with the Japanese ceasefire offer. The Confederates responded to the offer of ceasefire with an offer of surrender.
