The Citizen's Travel Guide: How Meekinos Views Your Nation

Postby Meekinos » Wed Jul 07, 2010 3:37 pm

Every citizen of The Hellenic Republic of Meekinos upon acquiring a fully World Assembly compliant passport are issued The Citizen's Travel Guide. Within the pages of this book is information every savvy travel requires, from embassy and consulate contact information, should they have the unfortunate luck to misplace, lose or have their passport stolen to relevant information on different nations and their regimes through the world, planet and galaxy and beyond.

Image

In order to better serve the citizens of Meekinos, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs invites foreign governments and nations to fill in a survey. The results will wind up in the travel guide, along with government advice on the nation and whether or not it is safe and profitable for travel. This is designed for nations who have wondered how their nation is viewed by the government of Meekinos and whether or not relations would be possible.

Please fill in the survey accordingly, and if your government has an available factbook, do include it as our Ministry of Foreign Affairs appreciates anything that aids in making an accurate assessment based on existing facts. It is not profitable to determine the status of a nation in the absence of relevant information. NSWiki or any equivalent is also accepted. If your government possess none of these, please remember to indicate that. It will not negatively affect your ranking.

We have added one extra field to our form. The comment field has been added. You may include anything you feel is relevant in this field. This is primarily for those who don't have a factbook or NSWiki entry. Even if you do, feel free to add any information you feel needs to be added. This is your all-purpose feedback field. For those who posted before the addition do not need to worry about this unless they wish to. If you do, we will review it and edit our analysis of your nation accordingly.

When your government submits its reply, please do not include the "code" element in it, just the requested information as formatted. Governments which fail to comply with the format will notice a certain response from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It will most likely result in your nation being given a low ranking. Partial completion will yield the same result.

Efficiently yours,
Right Honourable Theodore Colonomos
Minister of Foreign Affairs

Right Honourable Aella Knossess
Premier of Meekinos

Rankings: Every nation will be given a ranking. it will often be comprised of two words. The first will either be 'profitable' or 'unprofitable'; this deals strictly with the market and commerce freedoms of the nation and how similar they are to us in that respect. The economic ranking may be associated with a modifier if it is apparent your nation is somewhere in the middle or in the middle of a transition. The second term is anything that describes the government's overall feeling about the nation. Even if it isn't profitable, it can still be friendly. This element relies upon culture, values, traditions and religion/beliefs.

Blacklisted: This is a special reserved rank for nations whose policies are so revolting that the Ministry cannot rightfully make an assessment of the nation. A nation which receives this rank will not be given an analysis. They will simply have the word BLACKLISTED next to their name. The nations that receive this would likely have a well known and atrocious human rights record; an unworkable foreign policy; a known inability to coherently communicate; completely nonsensical and asinine economic and domestic policies; and zero understanding of capitalism concurrent with anti-capitalist mandates. Nations who earn this label are special cases. It takes a lot to earn this. Those who have received this have to undergo significant reformation to have any hope of having this label removed.

.:A - E:.

AHSCA: Although this government doesn't believe in being a member of the World Assembly, it appears to share a number of important values that we do and those travelling can expect the same standards on most things. There will be cultural differences but those are to be enjoyed. Language barriers would not be a problem for the citizen who has diligently studied his/her languages. They also have a very friendly, warm flag. :: RANKING -- profitable, nice ::

Ang Philppines, (The):A stable monarchy with an oddly bizarre religion that seems to only believe in one god instead of all the gods. Its unsettling, strange beliefs may be offsetting to the average citizen wishing to visit due to an overall lack of commonality between our culture and beliefs. The language barrier does not help much, though those who are strongly fluent in a number of languages will likely be able to find a common ground. The economic climate is favourable with the market being prime for those seeking to expand. :: RANKING -- profitable, neutral ::

Aquilinia: A diverse home to many different races, species and folks of varying creeds, including Nekomimi under the benevolent eye of an empress who grants her citizens equal rights and liberties. For those seeking to experience the culture of a heterogeneous nation, this would be the place to be. For those in the practice of travelling to find undiscovered markets, this is a market that might provide new opportunities, especially for cornering the non-humanoid market demographic. :: RANKING -- profitable, interesting ::

Akert: The Ministry views this nation with extreme caution and suspicion. They are not compatible with our nations from an economic point of view. Any trade relations would ultimately prove to be futile. However, your nation may provide an interesting experience for the traveller wishing to explore the unknown. :: RANKING -- unprofitable, neutral ::

Auremena: Despite being the first government to reply to our survey, they have failed to follow the most basic of instructions, leading the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to believe this nation lacks basic moral principles when it comes to productivity and efficiently handling matters. (UPDATE: the government of Auremena has provided the necessary information; however, timeliness is obviously not a quality of this nation). It is the government's observation that should a travelling Meekinosian civilian or merchant be stranded that they will find themselves struggling to get even the most basic information required in order to rectify their plight. Travel restrictions may apply. :: RANK - Unprofitable, neutral ::

Cadonica: Organized chaos is really only how we can describe this nation. There are almost no laws and yet somehow there is the existence of democracy within its borders. A fascinating nation indeed. Fortunately, it's best quality is truly a redeeming quality, it's appreciation of capitalist principles. Any form of commerce or trade between our nations is a realistic possibility. :: RANKING -- friendly, profitable ::

Churchilland: A right proper polite nation possessing admirable views on politics and the economy. This is a nation we perceived as potentially not having any enemies as a result of its own actions. Diplomatic and economic relations would be a realistic possibility. This nation shows promise as a viable market for any business or corporation to expand into if seeking a new market demographic. :: RANKING -- profitable, friendly ::

Catholic Cornwall: BLACKLISTED

Eldar Ulthwe: We find this nation to have respectable and very reasonable policies, particularly their policy on immigration. It is much like our own, though we have made special exceptions. It is rare to find a nation willing to prevent the import of cultural baggage into its borders. In addition to that, we find many of their neutral views to be refreshing and enlightened. Although we haven't reached that apex in our development, we hold great respect for a nation of this nature. Diplomatic relations would be of great benefit to both sides. :: RANKING -- profitable, fascinating ::

Europa: A delightfully progressive capitalism-loving nation with reasonable rates of taxation. It is most certainly a dream destination for those wishing to do business or open trade. For those seeking to relax and enjoy the local offerings, there is no shortage and appears to be bountiful in its culture, heritage and traditions for the audacious adventurer. The Ministry feels that this nation deserves a favourable ranking. :: RANKING -- profitable, equals ::

Ewa Beach: The Ministry finds this nation to be in direct conflict with many of the core values of our nation. Its religious views are fanatical and dangerous; its beliefs on capitalism are appalling. Travel sanctions as well as commerce sanctions are placed on this nation as it is considered unprofitable for anyone to visit, whether for pleasure or business. The icing on the cake so it speak is the overall lack of membership in the World Assembly. The resulting outcome is outright sanctions on Ewa Beach. These sanctions only apply to travel and business; the government is still open to neutral relations and diplomacy. :: RANKING - unprofitable, unfriendly ::

Greater Rhodes: If it weren't for the difference in language and style of governance, a citizen would not be able to tell the difference between GR and Meekinos, for the two nations share many similar beliefs. It is a highly recommended spot for vacationing in any size of group and it is prime for merchants seeking to explore welcoming markets. The government would welcome merchants and other enterprising individuals from GR and is open to potential trade opportunities. :: RANKING -- profitable, friendly ::

Greto: : BLACKLISTED

Imeriata: An alarmingly conservative nation whose traditional values may clash with the more liberal values of the average Meekinosian citizen. For a family seeking to vacation in a safe spot, this would be a good choice, though all travellers are warned that the nation of Imeriatia is not a member of the WA and will not be found by any international treaty, protocol, law or standard accepted by the WA. For the enterprising variety, it offers a market in which a young entrepreneur can display his/her wares to bid for a spot in a strong and upcoming market place. :: RAKING - profitable, neutral ::

Jervak: A Soviet-esque nation whose anti-capitalist and draconian economic policies are irreconcilable with our more liberal pro-capitalist policies. Trade and Commerce has been deemed impossible with this nation as its policies are incompatible with our beliefs. However, for the purposes of pleasure travel, the nation is moderately compatible with ours and individuals visiting would find an opportunity to witness and experience a society devoid of capitalist principles so that upon return they may better appreciate what they have missed while out of the country. :: RANKING -- unprofitable, intriguing ::

Kalasparata: BLACKLISTED

Kaledoria: An interesting nation with a quirky leader. Those seeking entrepreneurial opportunities should not venture here due to a hostile economy that is unwelcoming to foreign influence. Despite this, it would be a place worth visiting at least once for the experience. Different cultures and traditions are worth experiencing especially for architecture and history. Overall, the Ministry advises against business ventures but lists the nation as a viable vacation location. :: RANKING -- unprofitable, friendly ::

Kjbm-land: There is nothing disparaging this Ministry could possibly write about this nation; they're a valuable ally; they share many of our core, fundamental values. Whether a person is visiting for business or pleasure, they will find a pleasant nation awaiting them. Adventures awaits the daring; ventures await the entrepreneurial. :: RANKING -- profitable, ally ::

.:L - R:.

Lemonius: A relatively hostile nation that is not forthcoming with information. Its cultural values conflict with our own. Its overall cultural values and traditions are detestable. Its loathing of capitalism is most disheartening. Full out travel and business sanctions have been issued by the Ministry. :: RANKING -- unprofitable, hostile ::

Libetarian Republics: An emerging and upcoming nation that has potential as a breeding ground for economic viability. Trade relations with such a nation would be possible, as they clearly understand the core principles of our nation. As for non-economic purposes, it is a fairly welcoming nation that appears to be flexible. Its mixed political views make it an intriguing a nation. For a young traveller wishing to visit a unique nation, this would provide a valuable experience for the traveller. :: RANKING -- profitable, friendly ::

Living Freedom Land: Of it's various qualities, the Ministry notes that this nation openly embraces the free market concept. This makes for an environment which is profitable for those seeking a more 'westernly' nation in which to do business. It would be an idea place for an enterprising individual to get their feet wet. Its culture is strikingly different from ours, with their people embracing odd religions. Nevertheless, it is still a place which would be safe for travellers, even in the absence of any WA membership. Particularly striking is the lack of a government funded military. It is rare to find a nation which shares our beliefs on neutrality. :: RANKING - profitable, equals ::

Magloire: Although there exists some fundamental differences, those differences are infinitesimal. They are easily ignored by one wishing to explore this hidden diamond. Those in for leisure and pleasure will no doubt find themselves a comfortable vacationing spot with many opportunities to explore. For those seeking a new market, this nation provides a healthy environment for small and medium businesses and corporations wishing to compete in a viable, monopoly-free environment. :: RANKING -- profitable, ally ::

Maraque: A simple neutral nation that doesn't wish to creative waves. It reminds the Ministry of the Dully Grey Planet once encountered during Meekinos' early space exploration days. Fortunately, the city state of Maraque does share some of our values. For those seeking pleasure, business or both may find a little hidden treasure in Maraque. Neutrality can be a wonderful thing in the right hands. :: RANKING -- profitable, friendly ::

Mari Ku-suzene: Unable to obtain any information on this nation at this time as it does not appear to exist any more. It is simply now just a name in the history books. History remembers this nation as a bellicose one. :: RANKING -- n/a ::

Maryginia: An average nation with average rights and values. It may or may not be profitable. For those willing to gamble, it is a market to venture into. It could very well be a diamond in the rough. For those in for leisure and pleasure, it is a safe nation to visit, though there is nothing particularly and immediately striking about this nation. It is really one like any other. :: RANKING -- profitable? friendly? ::

Mesarian: Their government is mostly able to follow instructions, though does appear willing to overlook minor details. Whether or not this is cause for concern remains to be seen. The nation possesses many admirable qualities, though we do find their militaristic nature rather strange given the rest of their values. Whether or not this will have a negative impact is unknown at this time, but most assuredly, it is a viable market and economy for those in the military industry. Whether one intends to bid on an contract or open a business, it is most certainly an economy to enter. :: RANKING -- profitable, interesting ::

Moriskov: Complete clash of the most fundamental ideologies. Any potential relationship, whether diplomatic or trade-based would ultimately proved to be futile as this nation is communist and therefore incompatible with our own. Despite that, it is the Ministry's opinion that the nation of Moriskov possesses enough redeeming qualities that it will not be considered as a blacklist candidate, meaning that travel will still be permitted. :: RANKING -- unprofitable, neutral ::

Mutant Lobster People: A nation with what we have very little if anything in common with. There are no factors which could bridge the differences between our nations. Any relations between the nations would be cordial. There would be no intended hostility but they are viewed with mild distrust. In terms of profitability, it yields are non-existent. :: RANKING -- neutral, unprofitable ::

Nouvelle Louisiana: A reasonable French Republic that has a relatively pleasant environment for those seeking a short-term getaway. Although they regulate capitalism to an extent, it is possible for a travelling merchant to enter the market and compete with local businesses. The lack of membership in the WA may pose a problem when it comes to expecting certain standards, though the government does not believe this is an issue. Overall, the government considers it an efficient nation. :: RANKING - pleasant, profitable ::

Raludcia: Although the nation holds dear some liberal values, they are overall a touch more conservative than the average citizen may be used to. Due to their current political climate, leisure and pleasure travel is heavily discouraged if only for the safety of our citizens. Warzones are not an ideal gateaway destination. For those in the business of producing military arsenal and top grade equipment, they will likely find a buyer in the government. It is most certainly an opportunity. A future analysis of this nation will be required once it has emerged from its war as we cannot adequately address the culture when there is something more dangerous to note. :: RANKING -- profitable, unsafe ::

Ramsetia: While this nation offers a pleasant destination for those seeking to experience the culture of another nation, it is not one in which business would prosper due to its draconian and punitive taxation policies. Although no advisory would exist, travellers would receive a note indicating that this nation does not follow standard WA protocols, though the government does not feel this is a problem. Overall, it is not a profitable place to visit but it is certainly a place for any traveller wishing to expand their horizons and experience other cultures. :: RANKING -- friendly, unprofitable ::

Rejistania: Although the Ministry of Foreign Affairs does not typically consider the opinions of foreign nations, it is worth noting that the nation of Rejistania has been well-received in different nations. The reasons are obviously different than our own but it is commendable for a nation to be well-received by others. Especially a capitalist one with a commendable human rights record. Our ministry finds that Rejistania has many redeeming qualities, which makes it a fine candidate for any trade and diplomatic relations. :: RANKING -- profitable, friendly ::

Rhodaseum: A little too socialist for us, though we do appreciate that they do recognize the importance of capitalism as an economic policy. Their views on religion are commendable and our people being individuals who find certain aggressive and intrusive foreign religions to be overbearing appreciate this sentiment. Diplomatic and economic relations would be a realistic possibility. There are enough common elements between the nations to make it workable. :: RANKING -- profitable, friendly ::

Rumbria: An ancient nation with rather barbaric and draconian practices when it comes to conscription. Its economic policies seem to be removed from what is best for a truly free nation. Central control of the economy runs contrary to everything we stand for. A free market is a key cornerstone of true freedom. While the system may work for the nation of Rumbria, it would not foster positive economic relations with us. We do not view it as a viable market place into which make our incursion. Trade would not be profitable enough. :: RANKING -- profitability question; moderately friendly ::

.:S - Z:.

Saurisia: An oddly quirky nations with eccentric beliefs and values. They differ on many values of Meekinos but in the end they share one of our dearest held beliefs and that is that capitalism is a truly excellent thing. Although vacationing would come with a warning that travellers be ware that Saurisia isn't a member of the WA and as such won't abide by the standard protocols agreed upon by all member nations, it is being listed by the government as an environment in which business can flourish as it is profitable. :: RANKING -- very profitable, interested ::

Selathorn: A relatively reasonable nation with reasonable beliefs and values. For those seeking entrepreneurial opportunities may find a unique environment in which to experiment, while those in for leisure and pleasure will feel comfortable knowing they will be able to visit and not fret about trampling on local authority toes through cultural misunderstandings. :: RANKING -- profitable, friendly ::

Shwaasburg: A nation which clearly loves and worships its military and willingly embraces capitalism, like any good nation ought to. For any merchant or business seeking a place in which to sell the latest and greatest in (FT) Meekinosian military technology, this is the place to be. For the more leisurely traveller, it is also worth a visit. If a profit can be made while having fun, all the better. :: RANKING -- profitable, equals ::

Sondstead: A quaint nation which has a number of similar beliefs to our own while still being unique in its own ways. Citizens may find exploration opportunities in this nation, whether it is through historical or cultural. The primary concern for any citizen would most likely be the language barrier. Taking the time to learn a few key, helpful phrases before hand may be beneficial. Businesses seeking a challenge may want to test the waters here will best be mindful of local customs and laws, but will find an environment that has struck a fair compromise between the worker and profit. :: RANKING -- profitable, friendly ::

Sorgan: A wonderfully moderate and reasonable nation that is able to demonstrate that governments can indeed respect the rights of its people while still offering protection. Its core values are compatible with our own, which is a bonus for the traveller and the entrepreneur. The market is a viable source of income for those who want a challenge without a terribly great risk. We do not share many of the same languages but the level of fluency for the average Meekinosian would compensate for the possible language barrier as Sorgan shows a willingness to embrace multilingualism. :: RANKING -- profitable, friendly ::

Swilatia: While Swilatia does not share our values on education, they do share a number of our other core cultural values. Their views on capitalism and religion are favourable. Their liberal laws provide a friendly land for pleasure, business or both. Anyone seeking to do business will find a place with decent tax laws. Their lack of participation in the WA is not a concern. Overall, they rank positively with the Ministry. :: RANKING -- profitable, friendly ::

Sungai Pusat: Although their culture is fundamentally different from ours, their nation is one which operates on the very core principles with matter. An organized governing system, which keeps itself at arms length from the economy. Their non-intrusive, enlightened policies make them a potentially promising trade partner. Any trade agreement or relationship would most certainly be of benefit to both nations. Tourism between the two nations would be equally as welcomed. Their enlightened people would greatly benefit from our hospitality and our people would receive exposure to a unique culture. :: RANKING -- profitable, friendly ::

The Adrian Empire: Although it seems like one is stepping into a history book when visiting the Empire, one will find that they share many of the same qualities and values as we do. Their clothing may be strange and they may not all be the same species but when it comes to values that matter, the Empire is spot on. Language barriers are certainly not a problem for the average citizen as the Adrianites speak many of the same languages that are taught within our schools. Whether one is there for business or pleasure, this Empire is certain to have something to meet the needs of those visiting. :: RANKING -- profitable, friendly ::

The Batorys: Many of the values of The Batorys are quite similar to those of Meekinos, though its views on sexuality are definitely more liberal than those found here. It is viewed more as quirky and odd than anything else. More than anything else, citizens are encouraged to bring all forms of birth control. For merchants wishing to visit, it is certainly a place of potential who haven't found a niche for their quirkier products and services. ::RAKING -- profitable, fun ::

The Tavan Race: A nation of an intriguing species that while not human do share our core values, namely the one that counts. Capitalism. Although it's social structure is fundamentally different from our own, it would be possible for the two nations to work together in harmony to reach a common goal in matters of commerce. Any economic relationship would be beneficially, from the most mundane, the exchange of resources; to the more complex, the exchange of ideas, technology, goods and services. The little differences do not matter when money can talk. :: RANKING -- very profitable, friendly ::

The Grand Millian: A very enlightened nations with extremely progressive policies. It is a nation we would readily form diplomatic and trade relations with in a heart beat. Its economic policies are truly sound. Democracy is not practiced by this nation but its policies prove that democracy isn't an imperative when a monarchy is able to respond to its people and keep in practice reasonable policies on matters of national importance. Language barriers would not be a problem as both nations share English as a common language. Klingon, however, is virtually unheard of and any young aspiring linguist would have a valuable experience in to go learn a language previously unheard of in Meekinos. :: RANKING -- profitable, friendly ::

Tierra Prime: BLACKLISTED

Voerdeland: Any concerns over their values versus ours is virtually non-existent as this nation clearly shares many of our values, though the Ministry believes that Voerdeland should really embrace capitalism all the way; it would be beneficial for it. Official churches are always an oddity but it may yield some interesting architecture and touring options for those wishing to learn more about the country. For those in it for business and not pleasure, they may have to watch for potentially anti-capitalist laws and punitive taxes in some areas as nations who don't completely embrace capitalism will have regulations and restrictions in place which should be followed. It is advisable to check with local authorities on this before pursuing any business venture to ensure full compliance. :: RANKING -- profitable, friendly ::

Zeppy: Although the official language of Zeppy is English, it is note-worthy to mention that Greek is a regional language in this nation. Travellers will find it easy to communicate with the locals as language barriers will not be an issue. The same is true for any commerce and marketing endeavours. Zeppy is listed in the Travel Guide as a favourable destination for pleasure, business or both. Its taxation policies do not appear punitive, which is a bonus for all parties involved. :: RANKING -- profitable, equals ::

Nation: The Batory Empire/Empire of the Batorys
Full Title: The Empire of the Matriarch of the Batory Clan (not often used)
Government Type: Absolute monarchy
Leader: Empress Vereba Batory
National Religion(s): A pagan faith, with the goddess Ithtyr being the most favored by the monarchy.
WA Membership: No.
National Language(s): Callisdrunian, Hunnic, various others depending on the province(multi-lingual and multi-ethnic empire)

Government Stances
Sexuality: A wonderful part of life. Ithtyr, the favored goddess of the Batory clan, is a goddess of lust, among other things. Citizens are free to bed who they will, provided everyone involved is consenting. Sexuality is not viewed as something that needs to be hidden and private. It is legal to take part in sexual acts in public in the Imperial Province (where the capital is located). Some speculate that this is part of the reason that the Empire's tourism industry is booming.
Narcotics: Some are legal, some are not. Cannabis is legal, as are coca and opium, but meth is illegal due to environmental concerns.
Abortion: In the Imperial Province, it is legal and without any restrictions, and has always been so. In some of the outer provinces, there are some restrictions.
Marriage: A right of citizenship. Citizens may marry someone of the opposite sex or the same sex. Additionally, in the Imperial Province, polyandry is legal (the Empress has three husbands, herself).
Religion: Most citizens are pagans. However, other faiths are entirely legal and left alone, though pagan faiths tend to be more encouraged.
Military: The military is large, as the Empire is somewhat militaristic. Security is a concern.

Political & Economic Beliefs
Democracy: Obviously not much practiced in the Empire, though there is some in towns, more in the outer provinces.
Republicanism: Similar to democracy. Only practiced at the provincial level, some being ruled by assemblies elected by citizens.
Monarchy: The proper form of government.
Autocracy: Is probably a label applicable to the Empire.
Fascism: A flawed ideology that defines itself by what it opposes rather than what it endorses.
Communism: An idealist fantasy.
Socialism: There are some socialist tendencies in the Empire.
Capitalism: There are some capitalist tendencies in the Empire as well, mixing the two to avoid the worst flaws of either one.

Miscellaneous
Factbook: Not yet written.
Mallorea and Riva should resign
This is an alternate history version of Callisdrun.
Here is the (incomplete) Factbook
Ask me about The Forgotten Lands!
Pro: Feminism, environmentalism, BLM, LGBTQUILTBAG, BDSM, unions, hyphy, Lenin, Ho Chi Minh, Oakland, old San Francisco, the Alliance to Restore the Republic, and fully automated gay luxury space communism

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has released its first official batch of information. Its clerks have been inputting the data into the correct areas to ensure that the information is easily accessible.

Auremena: Despite being the first government to reply to our survey, they have failed to follow the most basic of instructions, leading the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to believe this nation lacks basic moral principles when it comes to productivity and efficiently handling matters. It is the government's observation that should a travelling Meekinosian civilian or merchant be stranded that they will find themselves struggling to get even the most basic information required in order to rectify their plight. Travelling restrictions apply. :: RANK - Unprofitable, Inefficient ::

Nouvelle Louisiana: A reasonable French Republic that has a relatively pleasant environment for those seeking a short-term getaway. Although they regulate capitalism to an extent, it is possible for a travelling merchant to enter the market and compete with local businesses. The lack of membership in the WA may pose a problem when it comes to expecting certain standards, though the government does not believe this is an issue. Overall, the government considers it an efficient nation. :: RANKING - pleasant, profitable ::

Greater Rhodes]: If it weren't for the difference in language and style of governance, a citizen would not be able to tell the difference between GR and Meekinos, for the two nations share many similar beliefs. It is a highly recommended spot for vacationing in any size of group and it is prime for merchants seeking to explore welcoming markets. The government would welcome merchants and other enterprising individuals from GR and is open to potential trade opportunities. :: RANKING -- friendly & profitable ::

Saurisia: An oddly quirky nations with eccentric beliefs and values. They differ on many values of Meekinos but in the end they share one of our dearest held beliefs and that is that capitalism is a truly excellent thing. Although vacationing would come with a warning that travellers be ware that Saurisia isn't a member of the WA and as such won't abide by the standard protocols agreed upon by all member nations, it is being listed by the government as an environment in which business can flourish as it is profitable. :: RANKING -- very profitable ::

The Batorys]: Many of the values of The Batorys are quite similar to those of Meekinos, though its views on sexuality are definitely more liberal than those found here. It is viewed more as quirky and odd than anything else. More than anything else, citizens are encouraged to bring all forms of birth control. For merchants wishing to visit, it is certainly a place of potential who haven't found a niche for their quirkier products and services. ::RAKING -- Fun, profitable ::

Imeriata: An alarmingly conservative nation whose traditional values may clash with the more liberal values of the average Meekinosian citizen. For a family seeking to vacation in a safe spot, this would be a good choice, though all travellers are warned that the nation of Imeriatia is not a member of the WA and will not be found by any international treaty, protocol, law or standard accepted by the WA. For the enterprising variety, it offers a market in which a young entrepreneur can display his/her wares to bid for a spot in a strong and upcoming market place. :: RAKING - profitable ::

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has produced its next batch. This brings our current work load up to date as the Ministry does not care for backlogs as backlogs means a lack of productivity.

Full Title: The Imperial Seat of Shwaasburg
Government Type: (Direct) Democracy via Referendum [WA: New York Times Democracy]
Leader: The Imperial Seat; The White Flame; Marcus Haephestus I
National Religion(s): Technological Agnosticism
WA Membership: No. (Used to, but disagreed with policies being passed. Now belongs to pseudo-WA council in our region.)
National Language(s): Shwaa, French, English

Government Stances
Sexuality: Free. No Discrimination. (Law 74625.b//2: "No Place In The Bedroom" Laws)
Narcotics: Completely Outlawed. (Law 12259.q//1: "No Harm To Your Fellow Man" Clauses)
Abortion: Allowed upon request. (Law 74625.b//2: "No Place In The Bedroom" Laws)
Marriage: Free. No Discrimination. (Law 74625.b//2: "No Place In The Bedroom" Laws)
Religion: Technological Agnosticism accepted, mass exodus of other religions occured/is occuring to this day. Shwaasburg prefers technological agnostics, Athiests, agnostics. (Law 99724.n//3: "Diaspora Of The Fools" Laws)
Military:More power to it. The defense budget grows almost every day. The military is considered quite important, but the cyber warfare division and space warfare division take most of the cut.

Political & Economic Beliefs
Democracy: Fantastic. Democracy is encouraged, and the will of the people is absolute.
Republicanism: Isn't this essentially democracy? Never mind; We like Republics, Democracies, and all other governments that are ruled by the people, for the people.
Monarchy: Finds the idea intriguing to say the least, but thinks that the chance of the retarded puke being next in line for the throne makes democracy a much better option. We know that as long as we don't become them, we don't really care.
Autocracy: Understands the human condition well enough to see why it began, but not why the people won't rebel. It's not like the people are outnumbered or anything. We know that as long as we don't become them, we don't really care.
Fascism: A confusing and stealthy method of governing, and much too dictatorial for our tastes. We dislike their high taxes for public works projects as a rule, but know that as long as we don't become them, we don't really care.
Communism: We like our class society, thank you very much. This is a 'branch' of socialism and as you can read below, we DISLIKE socialism.
Socialism: Dislike. DISLIKE. We like our things, and would like for you to keep away from our things. We approve of the individual merit idea, but dislike how layabouts can skirt by with the 'I don't have the ability! Support me!' excuse. Meritocracies only work when someone with real merit gets rewarded for hard work, and those who hardly work get nothing.
Capitalism: Astonishing economic system; We wholeheartedly approve.

Miscellaneous
Factbook: Working on it, but with so much history to compile, it's difficult. I also misplaced my school binder where most of it was, so about 200 years of history went down the drain.

Government Type: Triumvirate, the rule of Senate, Council and Emperor all equally powerful, no other word best describes it, factbook has greater details
Leaders:
Crowned Emperor: Kyle Cicero Argentius
Consul of the Senate: Marcus Antillius Kaine
Premier of the Council: Roberto Tiberius Samnite
National Religion(s): Universal Acceptance of All Beliefs, Christianity Dominant
WA Membership: Never
National Language(s): English, Latin (Official), German, Elvish, Greek and Italian (Regional De Facto)

Government Stances
Sexuality: The Government does not intervene in the private lives of it's citizens
Narcotics: Legal and mostly unregulated a small excise tax is applied to all sales, that said, narcotic consumption in the Empire is negligibly low and most dealers excusively operate in the fringe colonies
Abortion: Illegal, a violation of foetal rights as an individual being, unless the baby is causing undue harm to the mother (ie life-threatening conditions)
Marriage: Unregulated, you can marry a toaster in the Empire if that is what you wish, though churches are free to not serve a couple on basis of religious views
Religion: The Empire does not interfere with the beliefs of it's private residents, though most Adrians are deeply religious
Military: The Empire considers a strong standing military and unfortunate necessity to the defence of its worlds in the harshness of space, service in the Imperial Guard is the fastest method of receiving the non-hereditary status of citizen as such most citizens have served in the armed forces at some point in their lives.

Political & Economic Beliefs
Democracy: Democracy is considered one of the necessarily element of a free state (the other being free market capitalism), though it is best restricted by constitution and other measures against untamed populism and emotional argument which might damage the light of liberty; reason and debate which should characterize any true democracy.
Republicanism: Republicanism is highly respected in the Empire, as is any form of self-governance, the absence of a monarch is considered a mistake, an excellent form of a free state nonetheless
Monarchy: When constitutionally bound, the Empire believes that a monarchy with democratic institutions at it's equal are the greatest method of preserving liberty and reason in the nation. So long as the monarch exists beyond figurehead status
Autocracy: Autocratic Rule unlike monarchy is incompatible with democracy and reason, thus liberty cannot survive under such a system and should be purged as any other form of tyranny
Fascism: Like all forms of central planning fascism is fundamentally incompatible with liberty and reason, thus is the bane of the Empire, that said, certain elements of Fascism do appeal to Adrians, mostly expansionism and national glory, though the Empire is at its core for the individual above the state, we are often led to the support of the greater glory to the Empire.
Communism: The most despicable and intolerable political philosophy, in it's totalitarian or anarchist form it is entirely regressive, the bane of reason and liberty despite their lies of freedom, the very foundations of Advanced Civilization lie in the rejection of all communistic beliefs.
Socialism: Like all forms of central planning, socialism is fundamentally incompatible with liberty and reason, thus is the bane of the Empire, socialism is at its core as near despicable as its communistic cousin, both praise freedom while being fundamentally unable to deliver it, one cannot be a free socialist. The very notion of socialism is utterly detested in the Empire.
Capitalism: Capitalism and the Free Market are considered essential to the continued reason, freedom and liberty of the Empire, Capitalism unregulated and unperturbed by the interventions of state except in the manners of law and defence is the greatest method of bringing about the greatest prosperity to the greatest number of people. Thus capitalism is considered to be the most fundamental and positive element of Adrian Civilization.

Miscellaneous
Factbook:
If you wish to imagine what the Adrian Empire might look like, picture the 1930-50's culture, dress and society in space, throw in Starship Troopers and Elves and a slew of aliens, dress them all in suits and dresses and give them all a gun, now inject capitalism. You have the Adrian Empire. :p

And considering this is for a Travel Guide, we most humbly suggest you read this passage on a typical visit to the Empire.

First imagine the 1950's in space, add free market capitalism, aliens, orcs, elves and magic, throw in some art-deco cities, the Roman Empire and finish with the Starship Troopers' Federation
