Anyway, speaking of magic, I'm probably going to have my thread for the academy's opening up fairly soon. OB will be calling for experts from across the worlds to help open the school/research laboratory.

Ooooh, academies?

Yep. The Starswirl Academy of Magic, Shrilllland's first step to becoming a powerhouse similar to nations such as the GPH, Lubyak, and D'Halbsisir in its heyday despite its smaller population. It'll be the home of several major experiments.

Any teachers and financial backing would be greatly appreciated.

Of course, lacrimas would be need refills after being depleted...which would make some things dependent on Unicorns, which the UED's populace wouldn't much like.

Still though...it's still technically equalist technology because any old pony can use it.

Or any old mage could help refill the crystals.

Anyway, speaking of magic, I'm probably going to have my thread for the academy's opening up fairly soon. OB will be calling for experts from across the worlds to help open the school/research laboratory.

Yes, but pony mages are necessarily Unicorns...

Unless...Cinderspade's engineers can create a device allowing Earth Ponies and Pegasi to tap their inner store of magic and use it in a Unicorn-like fashion. Which would defeat the magophobia they had going for them, but would allow them to do all manner of cool things.

Would the academy be interested in Earth Ponies using machines to act like Unicorns?

Earth Ponies use magic in such a capacity, so why not? And I meant mages of all species such as elves, humans, etc.

Oh no, I meant that use magic in the way that they take care of the earth. Having them do unicorn things would be revolutionary.

Ah, I see.

It works well with the UED's philosophy, I think. It raises the other two kinds of pony to the Unicorn's level...which makes Unicorn magic somewhat obsolete, which must please Cinderspade immensely.

It would help Copper Pipe's experiments to have more assistants.

Sciency and good, but often going out of control. Weaponising and mutating Cutie Pox for other species to contract it has risks.

Well, a say about the curriculum for teachers, plenty of posts for students, and of course the chance to be in all Academy-based RPs.

Yes, Cinderspade would be most pleased.

As for the UED's magitech engineers, they are probably out to prove the worth of the Earth Pony and Pegasus mages they've created. Plenty of motivation there.

Yes, I am sold.

Can humans finance and attend this academy?
I use this old account for FT, Pentaga Giudici and Vadia are for MT.

"Ten thousand people, maybe more
People talking without speaking
People hearing without listening"

Construction is taking forever, but Prole Confederation will be paying millions of Trade Units for embassies and merchants that show up at the SBTH

Say, about the research portion of the school's objectives, would it be acceptable to receive research assistance from someone who is never actually there in person? (I.E. Sinclair, Cinderspade's best magitech engineer, creator of the Projector Helmet that makes Earth Ponies and Pegasi have Unicorn powers)
