There is no internet censorship because there isn't an internet to censor.

The KPF actively searches the Internet in the Soviet Empire shutting down any anti government or pro terrorism sites while if the maker is a Soviet resident he/she can usually expect a group of men in suits to come knocking with big guns in they're hands.

We have no actual internet censorship, though we do have members of the law enforcement hunt for and patrol certain sites to protect individuals that may be victimised. Examples of such sites are sites that could potraying illegal brothels, bestiality, and child pornography. We feel that invasion of privacy is legitimate when it could enliminate individuals abused and/or enslaved by the owners and users of such sites. If we feel a site is effectively breaking our laws, on a domain our nation has authority over, we can and will shut it down, depending on the severity of their crimes we'd likely issue an official warning, and wait for them to comply before resorting to shutting a site down. So I guess I'll have to rectify the above statement of no censorship. We have very selective censorship.

There is no internet censorship. It's far easier for Domestic Intelligence to find the traitor scum if we let them stupidly plaster their dissident swill out in the open online. Then we just track them down and execute them - and post the videos of their destruction on the sites they used to run or post on.

Needless to say, some think that's actually extremely heavy censorship since only idiots will post anything remotely dissenting under such conditions. Even so, they are not technically barred from putting it up, whereas with media that has higher distribution (like news chips or holovision broadcasts), such material will never be allowed to see the light of day in the first place. Therefore, the government considers the internet technically "under surveillance" rather than censored.

How do we keep tabs on so much data? Every single thing that's posted is processed in real time, with no discernible lag, by the (nonsapient) Domestic Intelligence supercomputer. The computer's extremely sophisticated language interpretation algo then spots and flags up all suspicious material for review by sapient agents.

The Ministry of Communication reserves the right to censor material that is overly graphic or extremist in nature, but rarely exercises that right.

The Commission on State Media, responsible for all TV, radio and internets is a very harsh organization. Almost all things supposedly not aligned with the government are censored, such as blogs, social networking sites (some) and forums. Things such as Pornography, Extreme Violence and broadcasts from enemy nations are also censored.

There aren't any. The Internet is regarded as a hellhole of fraud and porn. And we're perfectly fine with it staying that way. The difficulty of enforcing any kind of law on the Internet has led us to just thunderdoming it.

There aren't really any censorship laws, except that schools and government funded universities need to purchase programs to filter out pornography. Parents almost always buy programs to filter out these things. There are laws governing how sites need to be rated but the only type that is outlawed are websites that promote terrorism.

We censor profusely, taking care to actually DELETE whatever material may be seen as offensive, politically correct, and ideologically dissimilar. We have purposefully deleted and censored several international websites, as well. We do this in the interest of protecting the people, and protecting the wisdom in them.

Saiwania does not officially have any internet censorship.

However, private citizens and third party organizations such as businesses and government agencies are allowed to use content filtering software for their own purposes. Often, it is simply a way to ease administration and ensure productivity and not because we want to censor information. Our police and intelligence agencies are allowed to do network surveillance within our nation, but only with a warrant from a judge within our judicial system; for the purposes of carrying out undercover investigations and counter espionage.

The Federation is very anti-internet censorship, as it is treated as a part of civil society and the public space. As such, the only things that are monitored are sites which provide access to things that would be banned in real life, such as depictions of child abuse/sexual-assault/pornography, contraband dealing, etc.

While the Federation does not generally remove these sites unless it has domain rights over them, it can and regularly does sting those who visit them, and prosecutes them under our normal laws.

Fraudulent websites are generally punished by arresting the owner for fraud, incarcerating him/her, and forcing the payment of reparations as per our normal anti-fraud laws.

Owners of websites found to deliberately contain malware, viruses, trojans, etc. often find themselves arrested under the Federation's cyber-terrorism laws, which make it an offence to in any way alter the performance of another's computer or to monitor it's activity without the explicit and informed consent of the owner.
