If you're batshit insane enough, make a combination rifle (shotgun barrel that fires 10 gauge shells/slugs, and a rifle barrel that fires .700 NE rounds mounted under that).
Like so?

Good to see someone else rocking the 10g. Might wanna reinforce with a spine and thicken the barrel walls to handle the stress of the shell though, even more so given the short barrel length(for a shottie). But that would just make it aesthetically more pleasing.
Other than that, great gun. The only thing I really not a fan of is the look of the stock and pistol grip. More of a stock&grip carbine person myself.

Maybe thicken the bayonet a little too, it looks like it would snap, IMO.

Agreed, it does give it a throw back look, but wood is outdated. Surely a modern Sturmgewehr deserves the best of its time, just as the original was built to the best standards of its time. But that's just my opinion. Aside from that I like the gun a lot, the barrel and receiver flow together really well.
Why is wood outdated? Composites are only marginally lighter and steel is heavier.
The Sturmgewehr was not built to the best standards of its time.

Oh, okay. Well, it's still cheaper to use polymers, right?

Dass Neue Reich wrote:Sturmgewehr, yes it was not the highest quality of it's time, but was the only Rifle of its kind at that time. Thus the StGw was and is on a level of its own as it pioneered the future of the Assault Rifle. It may very well have been the best rifle of the war. Think about it, it fires the 8mm Mouser, holds up to 30 rounds and has automatic firing capabilities. It bridged the gab between Rifle and SMG. Holding that fire power and ability sets any StGw operator up for success on the battle field. The only other nation during the war to give their soldiers a semi-auto weapon was The United States, and the M1 Garand only held 8 rounds at that...on top of that when the M1 ejected its magazine it made that notorious brass sound that gave away the operators position. Further more the two guns are separated a world apart by the STG's ability to fire automatically. About the only advantage the M1 has over the STG is its rotating bolt, while the STG only had a tilting bolt.
