Eh, I find it interesting, but not enough to run one, given that the setting would be urban and it would be rather difficult to get a place I'm familiar with that most others would also be familiar with, unless I make it up completely.

Kassaran wrote:I don't know what really would make a bigger difference, but I do know that dynamite needs a mining industry, so perhaps that would be feasible alongside the invention of the bullet and rifled barrel. However, as for the fantasy question, I think that vampires and werewolfs, nope, actually, really only werewolves in general are overdone. Everyone always asks for the same old thing, and day-in and day-out it is! But I'd like to see more variation in what we could get, like werecorvids, or werevipers... or even weredrakes. That'd be new and exciting and different!

I remember playing as a weredrake once. That was fun, though I didn't really do much with that, anyway. And I've seen a few non-werewolf werecreatures around in some RPs, though they are indeed not many.

Regarding vampires, I think the problem is that it's a bit hard to put a spin (A good spin) on them, since they've been used quite a bit.

I prefer fantasy RPs (And stories in general, I suppose) that deal with adventures all around, myself. I'd put a label on it, but I'm not very knowledgeable on that.

I decided to do so as well. That was enlightening.

Anyway, regarding my previous statement, it appears that what I like is called High Fantasy, Heroic Fantasy, and Swords and Sorcery.

Not that I only like these, mind, but I like them the most, I'd say.

No, no, the reason we made a third Traveller's Café is because the chat thread is up. We started a new Café at the same time so that the separation of general chatter and RP brainstorming, discussion and advice would be emphasized, so to speak.

Dynamite is somewhat reasonable. Explosives, at least, would be a logical upcoming invention.

Also, any interest in my second idea?

No, I didn't, but I didn't remember any guns... needless to say, something to allow for more modernistic artillery usage.

The Military Police and Stationary Guard were using guns in several episodes. In the most recent episodes, there are 3DMG cowboys wielding mini hand grenade launchers that make your face asplode. Cannons are a kind of gun.

RP INTEREST AND FEEDBACK REQUEST
Please provide as much detail as possible.
RP's Overarching Concept: You are a Clone Trooper. Well, not a regular one.
Genre/s:Fanfiction, Sci-Fi, Parody, Joke
Character or Faction Based: Character
Detailed Description: After the Confederate invasion of Naboo was narrowly thwarted by the Jedi Order, the Galactic Republic quickly understood that it needed a new weapon to survive the CIS' deadly droid armies. Their solution was to task the inhabitants of stormy planet Kamino with building an army of clones using a badass Mandalorian mercenary as their base template, because the Republic was apparently terminally incapable of churning out a good recruitment campaign or just conscript soldiers.

The cloning facilities on Kamino promptly started producing industrial quantities of cloned Jangos, dividing production in multiple batches. One of these batches suffered from a particular mishap, in part due to the fact that Kaminoans weren't experts in human anatomy and gender differences.

The batch, now known as Pink Batch, produced thousands of female Jango clones, including several Commandos and a few dozen ARC troopers. At first, the Kaminoans decided to destroy the wiener-defective clones, only to be stopped by a coalition of progressive-thinking female Jedi stopped said process in the name of preserving human resources and enforcing gender equality in the battlefield.

A few time after the mishap, the now grown and trained clones are going to take part in their first battle ever on the rocky planet of Geonosis...

There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man’s fears, and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination.

RP INTEREST AND FEEDBACK REQUEST
Please provide as much detail as possible.
RP's Overarching Concept: Steampunk in Westeros
Genre/s: Fantasy, Steampunk
Character or Faction Based: Character, semi-faction based.
Detailed Description: I've made a seperate thread for feedback and further planning, found here

Need Help With: Working out the mechanism of macro-management of Westeros, so to speak. My plans for the characters will remain undisclosed for now, but I would also like that participants can help determine the actions of the rulers of each dominion. In addition, perhaps determining the evolution and extent of the "magic-powered" steampunk technology would be something the participants may be interested in as well.

So, how to decide the actions of the five dominions? Will we all discuss each dominion's actions, or will people choose a dominion to "control" OOCly? e.g. two people choose the Westerlands and thus control its ruler together and should others be able to contest their decisions?

RP INTEREST AND FEEDBACK REQUEST

RP's Overarching Concept: Purgatory-type RP focusing on lost souls banding together in order to travel down the path to redemption.
Genre/s: Drama/Supernatural/Comedy.
Character or Faction Based: Faction-based.
Detailed Description: What comes after death? Do we go to celestial or infernal realms for eternity, or do we roam the Earth for the rest of our lives as ghosts? What happens when we have not completed our stories?

For everyone, death is the eventual outcome of life. At this point, you cease to be, and no one knows what happens afterwards. Everyone has their own beliefs on what happens after death, but in truth, there is only one Afterlife and only one Purgatory. For some, they have lived full lives and have become worthy to cross into Afterlife to live for all of eternity. For others, their lives weren't ideal, and what they did in life has forced them to seek out redemption in Purgatory. But, what is Purgatory? Is it a realm in which you suffer for a couple hundred years before moving on to Afterlife?

Purgatory is a testing ground for those souls who are not yet worthy to enter Afterlife. A long, long path in which souls must right the wrongs of their lives, if they hope to move on to Afterlife. For some, they have the strength to face their greatest challenges of life in death, while others travel the path for centuries, seeking their redemption and once again failing to fix the broken parts of their story. The only hell that exists after death is the agony of roaming the endless road of redemption, facing only failure at every stop.

Your time has come. Taken from the world before your time and with challenges unconquered, you have found yourself on the path of redemption. Will you rise to challenge what you couldn't challenge in life? Or will you roam for eternity, never to know the grace of Afterlife?

Need Help With: General feedback for this draft of my idea.

Am I allowed to make a thread with an RP that I want to use a virtual tabletop program for?
Legalize owning RPG's and nuclear weapons, reinstate hanging, add in burning meat grinders, stop giving shits for airplane crashes, shut the fuck up about banning guns, the south will NOT rise again, you are just ignorant, look down on the poor, modify genetics so fat kids taste like bacon, cats are better than dogs, if you don't like what's going on in the middle east, fix it yourself, Obama is a good president, just a bad Congress, MLP is a kickass show.
