I never said that.

I said what death is from an atheistic point of view. Then Alex got pissed.

Then I said "It's silly to believe in a God, because the chances are slim".

Never once did I say we could be sure of anything, because, as I said earlier, if the fairies are invisible, intangible, and undetectable, then you'll never find them, but you shouldn't waste your time looking for them.

Perhaps I should rephrase that. No one who's died and left for the afterlife or the great nothingness or whatever has come back to talk about it.

People who have been temporarily dead and resuscitated have seen a bright light, which could mean any number of things. No one has been dead to the point where they can tell us there's nothing or that there's something and then came back to tell us about it.

The idea of afterlife confuses me, it seems incredibly unlikely

That's interesting. Sounds sort of like an anarchist commune, but for the dead. Or at least, that's my interpretation, which is probably wrong.

Also included are agnostics who assert they do not believe in any deities (even if they claim not to be atheists).

Ah, true, true.

My last history teacher had a lot of religious books, but never seemed to quite read all of them. Admittedly, I still like him. We talked a lot on societal designs. He was a Constitunionalist, if I recall correctly.
I'd really like to know what he thought of my ideas. He seemed to approve them. Perhaps he viewed them with curiosity.

I've realized I have rambled.
