After a revolution you can't go back. Also the constitution does not allow the monarchy and to change it would be very difficult.

you're just setting yourself up for a hrexit
ask moderation about reading serious moderation candidates TGs without telling them about it until afterwards and/or apparently refusing to confirm/deny the exact timeline of TG reading ~~~ i hope you never sent any of the recent mods or the ones that got really close anything personal!

signature edit: confirmation has been received. they will explicitly do it before and without asking. they can look at TGs basically whenever they want so please keep this in mind when nominating people for moderator or TGing good posters/anyone!

That's the problem with modern Germany. Right when "Bundes" was slapped to the name is when it went all downhill.

Last thing I've played on EU4 was Milan and France. Didn got around yet for HRE stuff.

However you can't deny that the Holy Roman Empire and the Imperial Insignia in Vienna have unlike the EU some cred.

Actually the official name of the Holy Roman Empire was:

Heiliges Römisches Reich Deutscher Nation

The German Empire of 1871 was a Nation State (excluding already Austria, the other german state) not the Universal State that the HRE used to be.

I know. The German Empire was more stable than the HRE, and therefore would be a better choice.

Unless the states that would be incorporated would somehow come to an agreement to ensure its success.

Hey, no need to be salty over the outcome of the 1519 Imperial Elections. It's really long ago.

Charles and Francis tried to outdo each other in voluminous bribes; Charles in the end had deeper pockets.

However on a second look, a few things remained the same.

Germany still got deeper Pockets.

Sorry, the Pope doesn't look like he's going to crown anyone any soon, and the Czech crown has been abolished in 1919 iirc.

Erm, Milan was part of the HRE (which was born exactly because the Pope rewarded the Franks for invading Lombardy and as a way to tell the Roman Empire aka Byzantines to sod off). Also its proper capital would be Aquisgrana, not Vindobona.

Europe being the "peninsula"? While I don't see how the EU is a threat to European culture -globalization, or more accurately Americanization certainly is, this peninsula has plenty of unique and distinct culture(s).

It has its cultures thanks to peoples being relatively untroubled by paranoid notions of "preserving one's culture", being curious enough to look around and snippy-snap from other peoples' cultures. In the context of the European peninsula -- in the context of virtually everyone falling over to praise the begods out of really ancient Greece and quite ancient Rome, both of them carriers of multiculturalist perks and anxieties -- in the context of the Europe of straddling multicontinental empires, from Cathay through the Americas -- I find the far-right notion of "culture" and the need to preserve it through destroying transnational organizations like the EU (whatever the cost in wealth and life and what else extinguished) at least preposterous and at most dangerous.

Why in the name of our princeps Gaius Julius Caesar Augustus Filius Dei do the Italians use the Latin name for Aachen?
That came as a surprise to me. I thought Aquisgrana would have been near Munich...but then I saw what Google Search brought up and my misconceptions were swept away.
