I am for a mandatory waiting period for guns until a background check is completed. Currently, you can walk off with a gun if the FBI doesn't complete the check in time. I believe those with potentially violent mental disorders should not be permitted to own fire arms. I believe in mandatory permits for concealed carry weapons (none of this Constitutional Carry horseshit), and mandatory training to go along with that. Furthermore, I believe in mandatory safety training courses for all gun owners that must be completed for them to be permitted to own a gun. Also, I want full auto weapons to be heavily restricted.

I'm liberal on almost everything. Except gun control - while I do believe in background checks for gun purchases (I don't want violent mental cases, or convicted felons having easy access to guns - I'm quite aware that no amount of background checking will keep someone from getting a gun if they really want to), and I favor mandatory training (like driver's ed) for people who want to carry guns. I don't think that people who are collectors (my daughter collects antique guns and historical replicas, all capable of being fired) should have their interests abrogated by law. And while it doesn't necessarily sit well with me, I believe that any law-abiding person in this country should be able to own firearms if he or she wishes, can afford to, and will do so responsibly.

I'm a liberal who hates Common Core with every fiber of my being, lambast the idea that war veterans are somehow monsters (by doing that, you're attacking the victim, not the disease, you fucking scumbag), is neutral on gun control and the use of drones, and hopes to Arceus that Clinton/Sanders, when s/he becomes president, makes sure that universities follow Due Process when determining if an accused suspect is guilty of a campus crime.

I also have a bit of conservative blood in me (thanks, internet >:() in that I loathe journalist corruption of any kind, and have a vehement disgust toward Twitter and every single human being who continues to make that site a perpetual shithole of ignorance, petty internet drama, and ideological defilement. I'd add "shallowness and materialism," but that's more FaceBook's fault than Twitter's.

I'm sure there are others, but that's all I feel like disclosing right now.

The first bit is a good thing honestly because the FBI is currently violating the constitutional rights of tens of thousands of people because of how broken NICS is.

I'll also take this opportunity to point out upholding current (illegally passed) machine gun laws has no basis in reality and is based entirely on uneducated fear mongering.

As for me? I'm a pretty standard libertarian, I might have a few deviations on a few things like if business owners should be able to legally turn away people based on things like religion or gender or sex etc. I'm still not entirely comfortable with ideas like that.

I consider myself a progressive, but I'm more centrist on gun rights. I'm also more centrist on illegal immigration since I don't believe in unreasonable measures such as a wall or really forcing English on people, but I also believe in enforcing the laws we have.

I'm conservative on social issues and guns, but liberal on education and environment, and centrist on fiscal issues, immigration, and foreign policy. Despite that, I still prefer the conservative label.

I mostly describe myself as a libertarian socialist. I am pro-choice, full equality for LGBT, for social equality, however unlike most leftists I believe that regulated capitalism combined with socialism can work, I am against ''political correctness'' and for free speech and for me individualism is very important too. Also I try to think about every single issue individually. I don't want to adopt a ideology because I will never agree with a worldview completely, I want to form my own opinions.

I wanted to be liberal, I really did, but I couldn't do it. Wishy washy on things that need to matter, and borderline militant on shit that's unimportant. But I wasn't totally against all liberal stances, but much preferred conservative policies, preferring the term liberal conservative. As times change and attitudes shift, I pretty much just call myself conservative (or centre right) now.

To give a little more detail, when it comes to the economy, I take a very minarchist libertarian approach with free trade, but with government intervention in what I see as essential (emergency services, transport, tight border control). I am not against big business as it is beneficial, but I much favour smaller business spread out. I consider myself a producerist, in that all society needs to be productive and should not be carried. So I am against welfare thieves, but also aristocracy by birth right. When it comes to social inequality, aside from action taken towards hate crimes, things will work themselves out largely on their own, but it's good to push agendas to tackle any aspect of society affected by sexism, racism or homophobia/transphobia. However I am of the belief that these positive agendas should be normality in the present, and as such reject the need for a label to show that I support such improvements. This is why I don't call myself progressive, as for me it is a faux buzzword that aims to find constant problems not to make society better, but just to find problems so it can be seen to act on it. I.e. LGBT and feminism are for the most part, good, but there is a limit before it becomes toxic. The current situation with ISIL for example, is something toxic that freedom of religion has evolved into, and a no nonsense policy towards it is needed, like tighter laws against immigration.

Conservative is obviously a very subjective term, and means different things in different countries. But I differ heavily on many other conservatives in regards to their religious attitudes, and the homophobia it breeds (like the backwards belief that floods are Gods way of cleansing the gays)... plus racist and sexist attitudes as well (i.e. White Christian superiority, and Pro-life stances), largely because I'm not at all religious myself, but also because bigotry is terrible. I also think being so goddamn obsessed with shit like embryos and guns, but not caring about the civil rights of actual human beings who aren't white men, is preposterous especially for countries that claim they champion freedom. But this is not every conservative.

I used to be a hard-line "anti-revisionist" Marxist, but I've changed since then. I still am definitely a socialist, but Marxism seems to idealistic and far-fetched to work, and what really turned me off were the other anti-revisionists calling other socialists "western shills" just because they didn't like Stalin. Now, I take more of the stance of market socialism and federalism, which were used in former Yugoslavia (I also liked their foreign policy and immigration laws). Socially, I would call myself a liberal as I support gay marriage and the legalization of marijuana, but many issues that social liberals bring up don't matter enough to me, as I could go one way or the other because of how unimportant most of them are.

I am a centrist, leaning toward left, generally I support scientific research, secularism and human rights and immigration. However, I can be pretty right-wing orientated when it comes to law enforcement, illegal immigration/unauthorized boarder crossing and social Darwinism (what else can explain how society works aside social Darwinism)

So I ask NSG, what is your general affiliation (liberal, conservative, anarchist, fascist, communist, etc) and what are your deviations from that ideology?
I remember that I was a democrat and I loved the current leader that the time, I thought it was great that change was made to get another leader in office, though I secretly wanted him to leave office in 2012, I then became exposed to some ideas that were questionable and I thought I was supposed to repel and hate because of the way these topics such as the world wars and the cold war was presented to me, a battle between good and evil, captain america vs hydra or Stalin's robotic army of soviet bear wind up toys, then i was exposed to many other things and I leaned towards the facist ideals only on the militaristic level and the loyalty to the state, I began to see elections as not useful and "rigged" and began to support communism instead, and I was a democratic socialist for a while, wanting democracy and free governmental stuff that I can use, then, because of the place I lived I began having theocratic ideas about life, such as a theodemcoratic communist nation in where there were elections for president and there was an eternal head of state that died, ( thank you North Korea for that one, how cool would it be to have a dead guy as your leader, way to go north korea, stay crazy my friends.) I now find myself a firm theocratic militaristic socialist that accepts religious doctrine as one of a few ways to operate that is influenced by stalinist- Maoist-Jucheian thought. essentially a bible, but with communism/ socialism thrown in.
