I think I even made a thread on that here...

See, I used to care about that stuff. However, and this took me a while to learn, if they really don't like you, or don't care for you, or sit in judgement of you for who you are, then, while it sucks, those are not the people you need in your life. I mean, everyone goes at their own pace and does it their own way, but most of the people I know, including myself, who were in your situation eventually had to wise up to their own reality and finally just be themselves.

I know, but I don't really have many people here who I am otherwise close to... And being alone is awful, it literally seems to make me physically sick, ugh.

I just remembered something else that made me realize that my family is rather ... conservative.
I always liked my grandfather, he was often very nice and gave good life advice. Really. But last year or so, when he had been dead for more than a year, my father told me had actually donated to a cause advocating against same-sex marriage, and that is even though as a pensioner he didn't exactly have much spare money. I think I'm really better off at the moment not talking to my parents about that kind of stuff.

It's alright, I don't even blame them or like them less because of that. They are not bad people and do what they think is right and I disagree with them on some points, that's all.
