No proof of that yet.
"Our progress in degeneracy appears to me to be pretty rapid. As a nation, we began by declaring that "all men are created equal." We now practically read it "all men are created equal, except negroes" When the Know-Nothings get control, it will read "all men are created equal, except negroes, and foreigners, and Catholics." When it comes to this I should prefer emigrating to some country where they make no pretence of loving liberty -- to Russia, for instance, where despotism can be taken pure, and without the base alloy of hypocracy." - President Abraham Lincoln.

Also, from what I've read, this is just more of the continuous terrorist attacks on Canada?

I'm not sure, but if the gun he carried was purely ceremonial and not loaded then it's an understandable.

As for the attack, it's only the second I've heard of. Most of what I read and see is gang-related violence.

Exactly. Someone earlier was talking about a shooting in Montreal and for me the first thing that went to my head was "gangs" simply because...well it's Montreal. Same as if it had been Vancouver or Winnipeg.

Unknown reasons. Obviously. Because the police have disclosed very little. So, maybe instead of jumping to conclusions - even sarcastic ones - is never a good idea. Especially when it's fresh. Let's wait until an official statement comes out.

What shooting? It was a woman who was beaten up on a bike path.

No. Absolutely no. As someone who was in cadets and had to hold an unloaded rifle, there's plenty of times when you're either holding it or leaning on it where you're glad it wasn't loaded.

What is the relevance of that?
Besides, you should treat a gun as if it were loaded anyway for safety reasons. You sound like you were afraid of it.

The police are hardly the only people who can share information. The Canadian intelligence agency knew the guy and had him on the terrorist watch list.

Edit: Possibly.

The local CBC Radio just had an interview with a witness. She said "long rifle, dark clothes, dark and long hair, Caucasian". No headscarves.

The guy had a knife and police shot him. Plus, the police announced yesterday they had him under surveillance and had taken his passport away. That does not sound like some crazy war vet.

But for sure he isn't radicalized, but the Conservative media just keep on feeding propaganda to justify that Harper is going to win elections next year. Canada's involvement in the fight against ISIS isn't the true of real Canada....it is the political intention of Harper

During the the Oslo attacks there were witnesses recorded as saying that the perpetrator was dark-skinned and dark-haired.

I'll give you three guesses as to what the actual perpetrator of that attack looked like, and the first two don't count.
