I'm always serious, but you guys did make a good point that the flag incident was back in 2007. I just heard it mentioned more recently on the news.

What Russia suggests as a federal solution for Ukraine will be nothing like the Canadian Confederation.
And yeah, Canada erred...but still, nice jibe. Putin needs to stop undermining Ukraine by shipping arms and troops and firing artillery at the Ukrainian army.
Last time America did that it was in the Iran-Iraq war or something, right?
The United Colonies of Earth exists:

I love how Russia is apparently more insulted by the suggestion that Crimea is part of Ukraine than the condescending "geography lesson" itself.

Shouldn't they be teaching their fellow Americans south of the border that Canada is not part of the States instead ?

It's claimed but unoccupied Arctic Circle: http://www.theguardian.com/world/2007/a ... sia.arctic

Russia symbolically staked its claim to billions of dollars worth of oil and gas reserves in the Arctic Ocean today when two mini submarines reached the seabed more than two and a half miles beneath the North Pole. In a record-breaking dive, the two craft planted a one metre-high titanium Russian flag on the underwater Lomonosov ridge, which Moscow claims is directly connected to its continental shelf.

This was in 2007. No war between Russia and Canada as of today. Maybe they're moving at the pace that Estonia's government conducts its business? :P

The hostilities are expanding though, it's just on twitter for now, but who knows what social media site it will go to next?

"Canadian forces have opened a second-front in their 'twitter-war' with the recent placement of anti-Russian sentiments on their national facebook wall. This new and dramatic escalation of the conflict was responded to by an 'unfriending' of Canada by Russia on their own Vkontakte page. Recon elements from both sides have reached into TumblR, Pinterest, and even LinkedIN, skirmishing lightly when encountering one another but so far causing little uproar. There are also unconfirmed reports of Canada already going 'assymetric' in the conflict and providing training and funding to anti-Russian Myspace posters, though why they would bother is an utter mystery."
