Congratulations to all who won. I'll have to increase my visibility if I want to win one. Thanks to LG for my one nomination.
Say, NK, is there a list of all nominations by category?
This reward would probably be an insult to good debate, since people on this forum think that a 'good refutation' is one that merely is incredibly long, has good vocabulary and has very subtle ad hominems in the form of irritatingly psuedo-intellectual psychological analysis of the opponent and his 'obvious' ulterior motive behind his post. The groupthink effect will take place in the form of a subsequent circlejerk around how much that poster just 'annihilated' his opponent, with continuing reference to his opponent in the third person whilst not actually addressing him personally.
Wait, I'm confused. Isn't this pretty much what always happens with the "Best debater" categories anyway?
I was thinking something along the lines of a specific example, and the nomination must be backed with a link to the exchange. Kinda like a "best play of the year" thing in sports award show terminology.
Regardless, just a thought -- I didn't intend to start a row.
