What makes them different then the next person when it comes to basic rights? None. They should get all the rights of heterosexuals. However for marriage rights, churches should also have the right to deny marrying them. which is fine as a church isn't needed to marry.

I only know of the rights that should belong to each and every person, no matter what they are racially, sexually, or religiously. Sadly, homosexuals are denied these rights in many places.

Every one should have every right to do anything they want as long as it doesn't force anyone else to do anything against there will or harm them. Sexuality does niether of those things, hence there is no logical reason to deny rights in that matter.

Non-straight people (the GLBTQ acronym becomes too long when everyone is included) are no different than straight people except that they have sexual attractions different than straight people (gender is different in that it is not sexual, but the same applies). There is no logical reason why society should treat them any differently.

Well... every time I hear "gay rights" I think marriage. And after reading various sources both in NSG and on the web... I've come to the conclusion that they should have marriage recognition.

Exactly. I haven't found anyone who had arguments against LGBT rights that had nothing to do with religion or outdated junk science.

I really don't think the West should be sucking up to them as much as it is, but on the other hand I do feel they should be afforded at least one or two rights. It's kind of a dilemma. On the one hand, giving them many rights goes against my conscience; on the other, we can't just let them be robbed or massacred with no principle of justice or retribution.

I do agree with you in that even LGBT rights activists can be intolerant to even other homosexual, bisexuals, and transgendered people whose views don't fit the majority. I was just asking what you thought about lgbt rights and not necessarily the movement as a whole

I think they should have equal rights. Why should I care who does what with whom? As long as no one is forcing me to be gay or undergo a sex-change operation, it isn't my problem. Let them do as they will.
