Metric, confusing? Nah.

10cm = 1dm (but we don't tend to use that)
10dm = 1m
1000m = 1km

It's all powers of 10, whereas your imperial system has some weird shit with 12 inches to a foot, and 5280 feet in a mile.

(Although I think that a better thing to say is that people aren't superficial/friendly on the surface.) ;) NYC definitely isn't in the Midwest or South. :p

I would say that's due to New York City being a very large place.

It's also a regional culture thing in the Northeast. New Englanders, including in small towns, will usually ignore you unless they have a real reason to start a conversation. They're mostly nice people, just less outgoing and talkative than Midwesterners or Southerners.

I've never been to the New England region, but I can say that over here in the MidWest, you will find many interesting people willing to start up a conversation over just about anything.

In our constitution it states we have a right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Yet we are 6 times more likely to be killed by police than a terrorist and we hate foreigners who come here looking for a better life.

Don't ever quote the Bill of rights to a police officer. They become enraged and after asking if you are under the influence they will beat the shit out of you...

Unless they're Red Sox fans, in which case it's a death threat ;)

I came to realize how much America loves meat when I first got to Japan. Honestly, for an American omnivore leaning towards the carni- side, it's rough. Most meat tends to be of the avian variety, but it seems like only the Chinese get that Duck is love. And Duck is life. Truthfully, I am in awe at how many different ways there are to arrange vegetables, but it grows tiresome after a while. I read a list of odd American customs, and I had a giggle at some of them. Blowing ones nose at the dinner table is just a sign of bad manners, not American Exceptionalism... Anybody trying to tell you it's okay to do that is setting you up.
Balance is important in diets, gymnastics, and governments most of all.

Yeah. I don't even know anyone that eats KFC except for my grandma and she is has Alzhiemers...

I mean their "food" has really gone downhill since I was little. The last twenty years their chicken has just gotten way to chewy for my tastes,,,

That was the Declaration of Independence, not the Constitution. When a cop kills someone, it's because they believe that their safety is being threatened, not just for fun. We hate illegal immigrants, not all foreigners.

China is not a communist society. It doesn't even claim to be.

China at best claims to be a socialist society, which is funny, because they're quite evidently capitalist.

It's very rare to find someone eating pizza with ketchup. Nearly unheard of, in fact. The only person I've seen do such a thing was two years old.
