The people who ran it probably broke the EULA. That's the usual reason for getting blacklisted.

Though, you'd think considering the fact that it's the oldest server that they'd work to fix it with the owners/admins, instead of just blacklisting the thing, but that's apparently not the case.

From what I've heard they usually try and work with people before resorting to black listing their server. The issue is that many times the people running servers aren't professional and mature people and don't want to work with Microsoft to come to an agreement and think that they can get away with just brushing off messages threatening to shut them down. Not sure if that's the case here but that's been the case in the past.
